who are they facing again
Apparently guard, he said Armageddon and didn’t elaborate
I hope gw will be adding more to ad mech than just immortals ripoff and thicc fabricatior
what a cunt lmao
Ad mech vehicles suck ass
Valrak being valrak
Admech feels like the easiest army to cowboyify
I love the doomba
It’s so funny
Best part of the krieg refresh
I love this stupid chud roomba
I kinda dislike that tbh

Ad mech in 40k is cowboys and World War 1 brits
If krieg ever gets a slop mission in darktide. They better make us start in a mining drill
We need those thick Cajun and Southern accent Admech guys lmao
tell em hello from me
Lol
loved their work on McCragge
Voodoo admech
Ignore the tau twin lance
Chrome shaman
Omnissiah, my favorite loas
Ad Mech needs better aircraft
Ngl I wonder how horrifically the Voodoo Boyz got murdered by the Haitians and the people who’d become the voodoo boys in 2077 lol
I hope it was awful for them
Our planes are dogshit both design and gameplay wise

You can just do that with normal admech smh
Too much cool
Yeah but Dark Mech with Daemon Engines plays makes it sound way cooler
I mean yeah voodoo isn't evil
Voodoo ain’t evil yeah
Servitors are basically voodoo zombis
Well he's not exactly evil but he's not exactly a great individual either
Can he party?
He's very ill mannered
But he's got drip
And was used as fascist icon in Haiti eventually
the shagohod!
That sucks
lol
I actually met a real voodoo priest once in paris on a highschool trip
It was extremely interesting
But I forgor everything
One of my roommates freshman year was from Haiti and believed in it
Was cool talking to him about it
Tbh it's the most materially true religion
No blasphemy intended
Justice in Haiti is (used to be) so slow and inefficient that voodoo punishment is a more popular route
Damnit now I wanna do a Voodoo inspired Necron army lmao
Not familiar with lore but who is my beloved that psykers talk about?
If you get canned fish from Haiti there is a high chance it was canned by a zombi
Few options, pick your poison:
An actual shard of the Emperor
Tzeentch
A random daemon

Ad Mech is a better choice considering they have servitors
Shard of the emperor
Daemon of tzeentch
Daemon of Slaanesh
Daemon of Khorne
Random undivided daemon
Random warp predator
Yeah but just imagine a voodoo dripped out Overlord with purple energy
Just play tsons lol

Ohhhh
Make your enemies die from drip overload
It could also be all of these things at once lol
I draw the Void Dragon
That’s what’s fun about the poor seer
An Overlord with a device that to humans looks like a deck of cards but it’s a collection of powerful items the Overlordncan use to mimic the powers of Necron tools
Reminds me I named my dynasty Diskotekh before it was full fledged dark mech
And the overlord was named Sun Ra after the famous jazz musician who pretended to be from saturn and dressed in cosmic egyptian costumes
Now he's the Flayed King
He
Flays guys
And one tapped a dreadnought in melee...
Huh. TIL the Pith Helmet is spainish in origin.
yup
I got an idea: They should remake the Praetorian army, but their las-pistols are this:
I swear such a device killed me in a dream
What
To the idea?
How TF does that even work
You bite down and it sets off a trigger.
Do they pull the thing to fire it
Ohh
Yeah I was confused on how it would shoot
crackhead FOV

👎
They operate it purely with their upper lip
Hence why they need to keep it ‘stiff’ in case they accidentally discharge the lashat
unintentional upside is you get to practice mogging while wearing it

Although I can't help but wonder
Usually helmets like this contain gunpowder or something
And although helmets are mostly used for sharpnel protection
I can't help but wonder if a hot piece of sharpnel somewhat embeds itself into the helmet
If the helmet would just
Fucking explode and kill you

Probably, especially if this was made to fire .45
Yeah I think the same thing would happen for a las version since lasgun magazines can become improvised grenades
This is what we call in the Imperium
A
"skill issue"

An ancient term from 2nd millennium Terra
Although I guess if the magazines have tough enough casings
It wouldn't happen
Which they probably do because
Lasguns are basically a tactican's wet dream
Yeah. Just got something that can turned into a grenade and be reloaded by a campfire.
I kind of like the Skitarri Vanguard Kriegsmen.
Does GW only care about cadians and kriegers?
They care about what sells
nah people are just joking about GW using krieg to represent steel legion
there's only 3 actual regiments represented on tabletop so GW is just working with what they have
No matter how much GW fucks up, they are too big of s company and people still buy
i don't know why they aren't even adding a steel legion kill team or anything. it's a pretty weird decision
They should have expected this response, but at the same time, they don't need to give a fuck.
The Leman Russ is replaced by a weaponised Cybertruck on treads.
Musk would be the sort of person to add Spacex as his own faction lmao
they were always trying to shoehorn space marines into armageddon so this isn't even new for that specific part of 40k
GW straight up never cared about steel legion
i have to say it is pretty annoying how GW thinks every guard campaign must have space marines
Tbh, Space Marines are pretty much the Optimus Prime of the brand.
They are the brand
i know they do it for brand safety or however you call it but it's annoying how scared they are to try anything that isn't at all involved with space marines
Next they gonna remake the 40K logo to have a space marine
most people remember vraks for krieg yet the story is mostly about space marines near its end
and coincidentally the end of vraks is the part nobody cares about because space marine slop
Honestly, they could have just said that the steel legion stock is having to rely on Krieg and Catachan gear.
i really hope they don't offer any lore explanation. i'm ok if it's just real world limitations that dont affect the setting
that would mean steel legion gear is officially off brand krieg
no explanation gives the hope that in the future we might get actual steel legion again
steel legion legit have my favorite gas mask in the setting
half face masks are underrated
Hi lore chat
do the krieg always wear gas masks?
It seems kinda pointless when we see that they are deployed to worlds where other guardsmen dont need gasmasks
Or are they just indoctrinated or something that they must never take it off
Simply just say that the steel legions were out of reinforces so krieg drop in
Imagine if it's a catachan reveal in the show.
on their own planet?
yes more or less
always
yes they always wear gas masks and yes it's pointless most of the time
Like, reusing the trailer, but adding Catachans fighting orks.
Orktide game, we play as catachan
We get a Armageddon Ork hunter build, where we get to use Ork weapons.
im still surprised GW hasn't retired the catachan models yet
lacks necron and black legion
if they get a reboot i would be happy
arent the catachan models metal ?
i don't think they're that old
they're very old htough
Its a culture thing. And also hides they're literal child soldiers
I got a silly idea: Catachans get a new character, but it's just Straken in a dreadnought.
Tbf half the guardsmen are probably child soldiers
Fuck like
Half the forces in the Imperium in general
We're/are child soldiers
when i think child soldier i think a 10 year old with an ak
not a 17 year old or something
raiden
I think Cadians have child soldiers in their ranks
If I remember correctly
Just aren't playable
white shields
There's been 4 major wars and there's like a single hive left, would not surprise me if the population is depleted
they aren't really in the cadian ranks
Yeah so no idea what the Kriegers are hiding tbh
but they help out

Guardsman #2492 probably was also a child soldier
I bet you that it's more common in the Imperium to have child soldiers and/or ex-chikd soldiers
Than those that actually joined at 18+
By the time you get to a war zone they probably aren't kids anymore
I feel like a 40k version of Jojo rabbit is possible.
"Look at that rugged 30 y/o guardsman!"
"I'm 15."
"...oh"
the british military used children pretty regularly before the 20th century
I was more meaning it could take years to get to the actual war zone your supposed to fight in
Yeah but that doesn't mean there's bloodshed adventure in-between!
it's been a pretty long time since then no?
i'm sure that whenever GW does the next armageddon story the planet will be rebuilt
the imperium should really turn that thing into a fortress world
armageddon is probably done for to be honest
FOUR wars 😭 i dont think the orks (or angron) left anything behind to be rebuilt
not all the wars were about orks
the last time armageddon got attacked was by angron himself
its effectively been sterilized
isnt this still the 3rd one?
(nobody cares because it's about space marines)
3rd war, 2nd war to the majority of the Imperium
1st war top secret
in the 41 millenia theres only orks
i think so
just like the black crusades, only one actually matters
holy shit the lexicanum page for the third war for armageddon is funny
nobles being on the side of orks
armageddon nobility?? 😭
yeah those fuckers screwed over the planet
believe it or not
the morons really made deals with orks
so they'd be spared if orks won
inept and stupid nobility leadership is like a recurring theme in guard stories
and i love it every time
Princeps Prime Kurtiz Mannheim of the Iron Skulls Titan Legion, who would eventually perish as a result of von Strab's orders, described the Overlord as "the greatest waste of flesh and bone born in the last five hundred years."[
The sold out the people and the guard and anyone who came to help lol
seriously though how stupid do you have to be to make a deal with an ork 😭
The most kunning orks did it
it's great
i should rewatch lore videos about it
peak campaign
His incompetence was seen right from the very beginning of the second war. He was given several warnings about the potential invasion: The Imperial Tarot gave the same reading of disaster, time after time; Navigators on incoming freighters warned of a massive warp storm brewing; and the Statue of the Emperor in Hive Helsreach wept bloody tears. Von Strab ignored them all.
he straight up caused the destruction of all the titans on armageddon by sending them to fight a thousand gargants without any support
He was insanely incompetent in general
He wasn’t even doing anything out of malice in the second war
He was just fucking stupid
Third war is when he sells out Armageddon
And then subsequently dies
I just had the funniest idea: They show new Jopall Indentured Guardsmen at the preview show.
So they could be a krieg repaint then?
jopall's paint scheme is horrendous but i think most people know about them for their interesting lore
well the like 5 lines of text they have
they look like they're sponsored by a mint gum
The fucking Ryza pattern lasgun
In what elevates it
They goofy gun paired with goofy armor paired with goofy color scheme
It’s perfect
this just looks so annoying to paint too
I wonder if we get a modern Jopall GW will change their scheme to the old white dwarf one
Where it’s dark green + no spots
Oh this would be annoying as shit lol
You can’t even make it faster with an air brush
I guess you could try flicking
But then you risk getting shit on the face
intricate paint schemes on small spam units is not a good mix
Tbh I think doing a squad of snipers as jopall would be cute
Assuming we get sniper squads back
Prolly not
the whole indentured servitude thing is just so weird in 40k too
it's just that it's another way to do what other regiment already do
I think it’s fun for flavor
cadians will just conscript
funny to think that a planet bothers to pretend the guardsman has a way out
would be interesting to see what life is like on jopall
just a hyper capitalist hellscape
i remember luetin used to always mention in his videos that in 40k there's a few planets that closely resemble modern earth in terms of culture and even technology
statically there's at least one but it's also probably not even in the imperium
That would be nice. Jopall snipers and Valhallan version of the white shields.
It just looks... itchy.
Unironically my favorite weird unsupported regi
I love the concept of them
looks like pyjamas
wish i had money for mechanicus
Its also an agri-world so just imagine the dust bowl
mild +2
I am playing something...
thunder strike
Marvel Rivals
With my besties
Cause they want me to play it with them
Punisher is fun
Probably my favorite DPS so far
He's simple but really fucking fun
toothpaste ahh guard
great news for the hadron simps
lol
Omnissiah be praised!
extremely based
Okay everyone please take a guess at how old this son is
40?
He is ||20. I thought he was a toddler at first.||
I mean there's kids named after gemstones
My bestie's dead name literally was a gemstone
He named a kid after a keyboard smash and elf letters
I mean constellations in the first place are based off of mythological figures
So you'd just be naming yourself after an ancient name
Yeah, Orion is straight forward, Sagittarius is Chiron
I forget the others
Lmao
Aries I wanna say is just the boring answer of Ares
Be a tradeigh and name yourself Orian

Jk
Also marvel Rivals is fun
It reminds me of overwatch except I can actually do damage
I’m waiting for War Machine, Doctor Voodoo, Luke Cage, High Evo and Arnim Zola
and Heimdall
Punisher is fun, but I can’t aim With him
I can’t use hitscan
Projectiles all the way
And Ultron

Honestly I was like "why does he have zero recoil"
Went into a match
"oh that's why"

The camera in Rivals makes it so hard to aim at times
Yeah I noticed
But knowing how Rivals designs heroes I want War Machine built like this
Or like Calgar
Also I like
Angela
Firstly because she's a hot muscular woman.
Secondly because she's genuinely fun to play
Fly around like a fucking bee
Stab people like a bee
When you want, drop down and chop people
You gotta admit War Machine would look so badass if his armor was this big
I hate to admit it
But that UM got drip
Angela is fun when you learn to kidnap with her
Also fun fact: she’s not a Marvel character, originally
She was from Spawn
Yeah that makes sense
She seemed a little out of place ngl
Even in Marvel Rivals
Marvel usually doesn't do muscle women unless if it's she hulk
Also she has a wife who may never be in the game/have interactions with her because the game is made by a Chinese studio
Sadge
Angela mentions her once in all of her dialogue
Yeah I had a feeling that she wasn't straight ngl
Why
China doesn’t like skulls
Ghost Rider is cool as fuck
That’s why Punisher’s logo is different
It’s made to look more like a demon than a skull
I mean honestly making Ghost Rider look more angelic would be interesting
Or demonic
But he has the 2099 skin which has a bunch of skulls
Depending how much of a deep cut with the lore
And there’s a new gallery card with a guy who has a skull front and center
So who knows
Chinese censorship is notoriously weird ngl
Genshin had a similar situation. Ik ik
Four characters had to get minor redesigns.
Basically covering up their skin somewhat
Global had the option to revert back to old
But CN and story use the new designs forcefully
But then later on they released a character in a fucking bikini
Tbf it isn't like a thin ass bikini but it definitely shows much more skin than like
What the four characters had
There’s one other character I wanna see in Rivals but idk if he’ll be added for… what he’s connected to

She was a surfer dude type character btw
Literally rides around on a shark surfboard
That is alive
But that aside, Chinese censorship can get weird
And overly specific
It's probably a fucking minefield except the mines are placed in the most random places possible
I mean Hydra in game is focused more on the occult side so they could easily rewrite him to be more for that
But uh… he has history
Honestly
I have thought about that
And tbh you could easily replace the skull decorations with angelic statues
It would still make sense
Characters like the Emperor would be a rotting zombie instead of a skeleton
Although tbh in general I like the idea that the Emperor is a mummy
Rather than a skeleton
Since he's still technically alive biologically.
It would make sense if nothing has rotted persay. Just dried out
A husk
The character I wanted to see in Rivals btw was Red Skull. But I fully understand why if they don’t wanna use him. I thought about rewriting him to be Hive’s chosen avatar, a Warlock given Hive’s powers and not… ya know
Red Skull would be a difficult character even if Marvel Rivals was made in America
Or Europe
Actually especially Europe
You would have to jump through so many hoops to make him even considerable to add
but hey at least we got Arnim Zola as a depicted villain
Also on an slightly unrelated note
The MCU Captain America movie is still one of my favorites
Here’s how he looks btw
I guess the MCU movies that are the best are the ones that could easily be treated as standalone
But still are connected
The Iron Man series (yes I like all of the movies shut the fuck u-), Captain America: First Winter Soldier, etc.
Genuinely I don't like his redesigns as much as the IM2 one
Because I think it's great due to that gruff look
IK
Which was a prototype
It was used by Tony to fly
And then he was like
"Ah shit it sucks in high air"
after falling like 10000 feet in the sir
So he made a 3rd one
But yeah I think the best parts about War Machine is that he looks less sleek and more rugged and gruff
And whenever he landed, you FELT it
The preamble to the airport fight is the most apparent
So generally I do think him being built as a tank would be best.
You see Tony land with barely a thud then then War Machine fucking shakes the entire screen lmao
It's also why the MK1 is one of my favorites
Because despite logically being impossible to make
It still feels real
"BUILT IN A CAVE WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!"
It's also why things like
Earlier Mark PA suits in the Horus Heresy look better
I like the MK3
Here’s a few fan made concepts of how he’d look
I like the second in everything except the actual mask
War Machine is my favorite marvel hero ever
Eyes are too close together feels weird
I like Spiderman
Generic af answer ik
It is also why I never read much newer Spiderman comics
Because even ignoring the obvious Paul in the room
They just aren't written that well a lot of the times
There are some good ones though
It ain't all garbage
I do hope for Carnage in Marvel Rivals
Same
Hot take: Agent Venom/ Agent Anti-Venom as a strategist
Although it would be ironic for Carnage to be a strategist because he's a fucking serial killer
I’m all in favor of the rule of threes: characters with similar skill sets or gear with one fulfilling each role
I like how Peni Parker is designed
Iron Man, War Machine, Rescue (fuck you Iron Heart)
A mix of the original comic version and spider verse
Also her story is basically
Evangelion Spiderman
With all of the suffering of both
Peni literally got her Eddie Brock equivalent as a bestie
And then had said Eddie Brock equivalent absorbed into their respective robot suit
After going crazy
Like their body was just absorbed into it
It's not finished as far as I'm aware
But Peni suffers a lot
And unlike Evangelion, she's her equivalent of Spiderman so it never ends

Sandman would be a baller tank
100%
I’m kinda sad tho
Before Rivals released I managed to speak with a dev on potential future heroes
They said they could see War Machine as a flying tank (fuck yes)
But Red Hulk is too similar to Hulk

When he’s totally not
Yep her "Canon event" was her best friend being absorbed by the VEN#m suit and then her aunt May also being absorbed by it while trying to save her.
There's a reason she goes from
What are the chances they'll go for his design where he had tank treads?
Or this design:
absolute unit
why having track when the thing already have jetpack?
Dead weight with no tactical advantage.
that looks like he took the Ironmonger suit and fused it with his suit
Interesting
Chaos space marines are inclusive to disabled ppl
For warhammer fantasy which lore should I start with the warhammer age of sigmar or warhammer the old world
I think you could reasonably start either or: AoS is kind of a sequel to OG Fantasy, but it only comes up with certain characters that are in AoS and otherwise could be ignored. Fantasy does give a nice basis on a good chunk of the AoS races and their respective fantasies, themes, and such
You can read whichever you please, its not like AoS is a direct sucessor to WHFB/Old World
Old world is the orginal warhammer right the very first hammer .
Old World is I think 200ish years in the past before the End Times for Fantasy?
Thought it was before the events of Fantasy itself, not just End Times
Servitor ahh War Machine
Ironkin are so fucking cool
Warhammer fantasy battle is the first warhammer made yes
And Old World is in the past of warhammer fantasy battle
as long as they can use a sword!
im reading the regular wikipedia page for 40k and the language is getting a good laugh out of me
WAAAGH! is also what draws Orks to a warboss, since that is how they recognize someone to be "bigga" and "greena" and therefore "betta"
On December 13, 2010,[87] Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie was released directly to DVD. It is a CGI science fiction film, based around the Ultramarines Chapter of Space Marines[...] It was received poorly.[88]
please tell me there's a source
Thanks
Fire another 1K people if they don't make a trillion revenue in a month
So the emperor is a pysker?
Yes
One of if not the strongest Psyker that humanity has ever had
'Ello
He seems a jolly fellow of a pleasant demeanour
Yes
The emperor is a freak
What differentiates a god from a powerful psyker if both can do fucky shit
Wasn't it Eldrad Ulthran that straight up halted time once
so he could speak to fucking John Grammaticus of all people
Me when I stop time to inform the Subway worker they made my sandwich wrong.
ahriman and mephiston can both stop time but ahriman is a far more powerful psyker
Ahriman is juiced with tzeentchian sorcery though no?
Mephiston rolled a nat20 and survived his mild mental breakdown
"mild mental breakdown"
hes an extremely powerful sorcerer yes
mephiston recovered from the black rage and turned his personality completely around
worship, which means gods are subjective
Halting time is much less impressive when you realise that it's basically accelerating time in a small area ans nor halting it in the whole universe
Question for our lore expert: just how wide spread are Kroot throughout the galaxy?
they're not very common but they are very independent, you can potentially run into them more or less anywhere
Yes is the best term
They can feasibly pop up in a lot of fringe places or places where the rules aren’t strictly enforced
their ships aren't very stealthy though so like
probably not in densely populated imperium space
Chilling out on an Astartes recruiting world is probably unlikely
But on Necromunda? I could see them as bodyguards, or mercenaries unwittingly hired for a greatest game style safari
but even then they might be part of a rogue trader's retinue, or even an inquisitor's posse
good to know. People are wondering what we could have as addiotional expidition zones like on Atrox, but that would require some tweaking since the whole point is time limit-extractions.
what's atrox?
Atoma's moon
Forest planet, so you would not die of radiation
ah, something going on there?
not as of yet, but it would be fun to have a new biome,
there military depot there I think
well if kroot did show up there, there wouldn't be enough of them to serve as enemies in a horde shooter like darktide
I was thinking they would more or less be a punishment enemy if you linger too long on an expedition there, since forest means no lethal radiation (usually)
so exceed the time limit, you get a pack of very tough kroot hunters, and maybe some of their kritter friends
who wants to fight a krootox?
Not as enemies, but as characters…
No no, that would be fair too tempting
Fat shark don’t like making money, it will never happen
it ain't that, GW pulls the strings.
Oh I’m just joking about how it won’t happen
one kroot to find them all xD
on another note i have been reading imperium maledictum's core rulebook and i found a description for how Melta weaponry works. granted the range given is somewhat about shotgun range but here the description for those interested:
Though usually short ranged, Melta weapons are powerfull and can turn most armour and even the toughest of foes into molten liquids. They commonly use highly pressurised, unstable sub-molecural gases that are fired in beams of intense heat, so strong that the air itself burns to steam along the path only to be overshadowed by screams of agony. They use a focused bean of intense energy to induca a sub-molecurlar thermal agitation in their targets, and excel at melting through the stout armour of bunkers or combat vehicles. These specifics are lost on most users, who care only that the weapons destructive capabilities are outstripped only by the targets brief screams of agony.
i mean
heat is dangerous
and high heat is even more dangerous
if you grind it down the way a lasgun deals damage is also heat
light so intense it burns
an strictly speaking even an autopistol just converst the heat created by friction to ignite something producing more heat to convert it into kinetic energy and propell a lead slug
coem to think of it ... how does eldar shuriken technology work?
does it convert heat to kinetic energy too or does it propell the projectiele through different means?
Yeah its just kinda funny how the Imperium separates all of them differently when they're just heat but in different colors
i mean it does make sense to sepperate underlying principles, no?
no clue how volkite is supposed to work but:
melta uses super heated gas to heat up the target (note that unlike volkite melta are not usually a continuous beam)
plasma supposedly supercharges fuel into a critical state where it is a glob of intensly heated material that explodes upon contact
Bolters use blackpowder to fire a propelled miniature rocket that explodes on impact
lasguns intensify the light to a degree it causes burns
flamers simply ignite prometheum
autoguns are basically black powder weapons
kinda like separating assault rifles from DMR's, sniper rifle, shotguns and pistols. same type of shit just applied differently
humans love categorising after all
Volkite is a thermal beam
that much i know but other than that i have no clue
of the others at least i understand the basic principle ^^'
I'd think it's a combination of las tech and plasma tech
could be
Instead of a las gun shooting a short pulse beam it shoots a concentrated long beam
And it has coils similar to plamsa gun
maybe cawl was trying to rediscover the basics of plasma weaponry? after all how to maintain and manufacture plasma guns is a well kept secret evene among the techpriests
possibly, still knowing how to build something and udnerstanding how the thing works well enough to apply it to different things are vastly different
If anybody knows how it'd be cawl
i mean yeah plasma is ancient technology so it has been produced for millenia wheras volkite is new, right?
No
that is a fair assumption
Volkite were the original intended weapons for the space Marines
But switched to bolters for mass production
i thougth they were intended for the primaris not the original marines
Great crusade
to be fair last astartes codex i touched was 6th edition, so pre indomitus era
hm... seems also ratehr unpractical
as volkite weaponry requires a prolonged sight line to the target until it fully charges and detonates
wheras a bolter requires but a fraction of that
that is to my understanding
Maybe but volkite turns armor into paper
Bolters are also just cheaper and easier to arm
as do melta and plasma
didnt volkite exist before tho
But melta is close range and plasma can explode in your face
30k ad mech is equipped with volkite stuff
That's exactly what I was saying
ofc, bolters also excell at dealign dmg to less heavily armored foes
mb I didnt read
Bolters are also a fear weapon
space marines with space flintlocks would look funky lmao
yes to melta, but according to in universe information the main reason plasma tends to be explodey is because they are poorly maintained
isnt it because you overcharge it ?
so technically speakign a fresh from the artisan plasma shoudl have a way lower chance of going boom than an older one
I mean just like any weapon it can fail
yes but that mainly needs to be done because the guns are old an no longer function on peak efficiency
But plasma just tends to be more catastrophic because the amount of energy
or in extreme situations
kinda funny how in old tabletop rules they were hazardous regardless of the way you used it
a normaly used plasma weapon shoudl never explode
plasma isnt that good tbh
no argument there
melta supremacy gang
the downside to melta being it has short range
eradication rays all the way
yeah thankfully
I like plasma
same
In rogue trade I use a plasma pistol and just shoot until I explode
i prefer the holy trinity but plasma has a special place in my heart
Nothing like turning a daemons heart into slag
noice
I dislike arc tbh
demons having hearts?
Not being literal but they may have hearts depending
BECAUSE YOU CAN GIVE THEM ERADICATION BEAMS
old necron lasgun (back when everyone had one) looked like an eradication ray, maybe why I like them
(eradication rays)
Pewter?
Pewter? I hardly knew her!
Pew pew
Are there anti-psyker weaponry? Maybe also anti-psyker/warp field that once a psyker is inside of it they are unable to connect to the warp
Had some ideas for a backstory for a character of mine but wanted to make sure
If those type of equipment exist
Hexagramic wards, the stake crossbows
Witch bolts, psykout weapons, culexus assassins, null-rods, banishing rods, several wardings
null blockers
Are there any canon anti-psyker fields?
Pretty sure null collars exist too
A second, even better Psyker
null rods, banishing rods
some sort of null collar yeah, psy dampers
blanks in general
Ok now second question: I know when a primarch dies, a psychic wave in the warp happens so that every space marine feels it (that being why the Blood Angels were granted their Black Rage mutation)
If a Blood Angel marine was somehow in a situation where they're cut off from the warp while Sanguinius died, could they be able to avoid the mutation of the Black Rage?
null rods
oh sigsen was fasta
also there are null cells
and if you wanan go mass transport: the black ships are anti psyker
voidmen that have high psychic resistancy
sisters of silence
null cells, null collars
Probably not like
Most current blood angels weren’t around when Sanguinnius died, still affected but it
You say most, but I think all. I dont know of any Heresy-era Dreadnoughts besides that Space Wolf
Teaching my boss about 40k
Blangels seem to have a high turnover rate mostly, a few most special boys aside
Doubt being shielded would help in any way
Trying to explain things in simple terms is hard
Huh. Gundam is getting into the tabletop business.
Welp then the backstory I had in mind isnt viable
Fuck
Yeah but you never know with GW, there was a heresy era salamander who rocked up in modern day at one point
Died like, 20 seconds he woke up from the Sus an membrane, but still
And Dante might be knocking an 0 off
I suspect it's more that Sanguinius' death was particularly stinky and how warp saturated the whole area was as well that made it affect the Blangels more than usual
What was it?
There’s not possible at all, and not possible on it’s current form
Well Dante did accept being the bright side of the chapter in a dream (while Mephisto got to be the dark side of the chapter)
You can still do it if you just come up with a reasonable reason
Blood Angel, who during the Heresy, was fighting a group of heretic astartes commanded by a sorcerer, fought off the sorcerer by activating a anti-warp barrier so that his powers wouldnt work after being cut off from the warp
Happened at the same time Sangy died, since he was disconnected from the warp and any type of warp related shenanigans he didnt feel it and never developed the black rage
I thought it was always something hiding in the background
Yeah its a warp-related condition. Lamenters were the only ones with BA geneseed that were immune but even that ended
My idea would that be that his gene-seed is "purer" than others, having no sign of mutation/degradation whilist others still present signs of the Black Rage without developing it
But oh well
Ill come up with something else I guess
that would make him too much of a special muffin if you ask me
Right, everyone with the geneseed might get it
But that doesn’t mean each one will get it
just as biological mutations
The degradation is the red thirst, that’s the issue with BA
Black rage is different again
As much as I agree, 40k is one of the medias that I literally couldn't care less if your OC is overpowered as fuck because of all the other named characters
If it was any other media I'd avoid making overpowered OCs but 40k is just already filled with powertripping characters
Got it
But both are possible
Neither are guaranteed for BA
So your guy just never falling to either is entirely possible

As is, stated a few times but I'm not sure it's a hard 100% truth, if they don't die in battle eventually they will feel the Black Rage coming at them
But Mephiston overcame it so w/e
Eventually is a long timeline
Dante is 1,100 years old
Other than Mephiston, has there any other blangel that avoided/overcame it?
Yeah but he almost fell to it in the Devestation of Baal but didn't because he's an important lad
Dante has avoided it
Most active BA have avoided it
Lemartes just kind of lives with it on all of the time
But after 1,100 years
If you plan for your character to outlast Dante and be the oldest living Astartes, sure it’s a worry to take into account
If you don’t, you can just ignore it
It isn't, he dies and his gene-seed is inserted into my main OC
But oh well
Just was thinking of how making her avoid the rage
Exactly this
Like resisting crack
It probably feels great
Not a great idea to partake though
Yeah I also thought of just making her resist it
Remembered of a (deathwatch book I think?) of a Flesh Tearer psyker almost going insane in a warp travel but literally rawdogging it completely screaming like he was going super saiyan
Yeah that works fine
`Denial fails me. Phlegethon vanishes at once. I am on Terra. The Imperial Palace burns to the east.
No, it does not. It is Hive Profundis that burns. I know this. I cannot see it. The reality of Terra is firm. I cannot pierce the lie.
A figure blocks my path. In the burning fog of red and black, I cannot see the colour of his armour. If he seeks to interfere, he is an enemy. I raise the Blood Crozius.
‘Chaplain Lemartes,’ the shape says. ‘Brother.’ He knows me. I know him. Corbulo. Phlegethon. I am on Phlegethon.
But all I see, tinted crimson, is Terra. Thunder. Flashes. Shaking beneath my feet. Impacts. There is shelter here.
I cannot see the crater. The impacts are from the enemy’s cannons. Mounted on the stolen walls of the Palace. No. That is the lie. Surface from the rage.
‘What do you see?’ Corbulo asks.
Sinking. Sinking.
‘I see you,’ I croak. ‘Corbulo.’
‘Where are you?’
‘Before Hive Profundis.’ I lie. I cannot be shackled now. I must lead the attack.
I walk forward. I stop. I try again to force the vision away. It shifts, as if broken up by the meteor storm. I am not on Terra. I am on Horus’s battle-barge. Decking beneath my feet. Dark walls on either side. Vaults.
Lies. Lies. Lies.
‘Where are you?’ Corbulo insists. His shape gathers definition. A great eye on his armour.
No. No. No.
‘Phlegethon,’ I say. I think I do. My lips move. I cannot hear what I say for the clash of guns and the roars of battling Space Marines near me.
That must be a lie too. But I do not know.
All trace of the real is gone. All I can grasp is the shifting of the illusion. The knowledge that what I see is not real. If I lose that conviction, I am lost.
More words from the Traitor–
Corbulo.`
Just do as Lemartes and deal with it 4head
Either way, sometimes it gets them as initiates, sometimes you get some marines who get fairly old and resist it the whole time. It's specific to each of them
I see
So I could just make her resist trough it and eventually it just becomes a bad headache?
It'll probably never go away but if you want
blangels resist it by having hobbies and Dante has his weird prophecy to save the emperor that keeps him focused. The Flesh Tearers mock the Blood Angels for having hobbies but also have a much higher attrition to the black rage
I think I remember reading somewhere that some chapters avoid the Black Rage by just accepting the red thirst and drinking a lot of blood and consuming human meat like bread
I think it was the Angels Vermillion?
Yeah they have The Sorrowing, involves bathing in blood and sacrificing a sanguinary priest
It reduced the numbers falling but didn't eliminate it
The Blood Drinkers accidentally made a deal with a daemon but it made their black rage much less likely at least
Welp my OC already bathes in blood, but why specifically a sanguinary priest? Or could I just replace it by making her sacrifice a lot of slaves?
Oh that sounds cool
Don't think it's said, maybe the same reason they mix their own blood with other blood in the red grail to purify it as such
I see
Welp I could just go the same route as the Blood Drinkers since my OC is a chaos warband leader
Just make deal with daemons duh
Chaos bargains is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural
A tyranid carnifex can kill a space marine right?
What would you compare to a carnifex? A knight?
I suppose dreadnought but I don't know for sure
Depends
A dreadnought would probably be a match like
space marines are heavy infantry, anything that kills regular infantry still kills space marines, just slower
I'm pretty sure a carnifex by itself can kill more than just 1 marine
depends on whether the Space Marine has a name and/or a helmet 🤷♂️
Titus literally almost fucking dies by one at the start of sm2 game
He's saved by plot ofc
They had to put him trough rubicon surgery to survive
If anything a carnifex could probably kill like 3 marines but I'm not that knowledgeable in tyranids
You can kill that one like
Elemental council was alright, did not like the ending
+50
Net zero
Carnifexes are hulking, powerful Tyranid creatures used as living battering rams. They are often armed with the most powerful Tyranid Bio-weapons, and are used in shock assaults, spaceship boarding actions, massed battles, and for battering through fortified positions and tank formations.[1b][14b]
They are more like biotanks basically
I think the Boarding action part is the most terrifying
Like imagine just chilling on a space ship and a tank tears through the wall
Imagine this fucker in an enclosed space, resident evill ass chase scene inbound
yeah literally lmao
it can also just melt/smash through most things so uh have fun with that i guess
Only if you learn the attack patterns after a while of gameplay and even then, the carnifex is strong and has a very resistant carapace
That shit will probably kill a good 4-5 marines before being put down for sure
it doesnt help that the Nids showcase in SM2 is like extremely bad lol
About anything the marines do makes zero sense
and would like not effect the war at all
Yeah also this
if it was actually 100% lore accurate they would've died multiple times at the first stage of the game ngl
LMAO YEAH
The 5 carnifex part especially
"WE WON GUYS, THEY ARE ALL DEAD"
No dumbass they'd all go berserk and fucking kill you still

Got I remember the adrenaline rush I had when I saw 5 of those motherfuckers showing up, I screamed so loud I scared my moms customers
I wouldnt make a big deal of it but this game is a big introduction for alot of people and i see tons of "How can the Imperium win against Nids if all you gotta do is kill synapse creatures and all of them die"
So long gay bowser
🫡
All it does is give the nids some semi consciousness that turns them berserk mode
it can stun them for a while but I don't think it can really kill them like it happens in the game
Yeah i get that the devs didnt wanna work that hard but lol
Also don't nids who are cut off from the hive-mind turn into like, the most adaptive predator creature in the enviroment its in? Shit probably acts like a xenomorph and kills everything in its path
Truly
as a game by itself? very fun
As for being lore accurate? lmao
Can’t wait for SM3 where we throw hands with 3 Defilers, 2 Forgefiends, a Lord Discordant on a Helstalker and Mutilators at the same time

The only thing that would convince me to pre-order space marine 3 on reveal is if they promise chaos armor unlock on PvE day 1
i've been praying every single day so they add chaos armor to operations on sm2 and nothing
If the main enemy in 3 is Necrons
I cannot wait for that one mission where we fight a Skorpekh Lord surrounded by Hexmarks, LHDs and Skorpekhs
And then an Ophydian digging around
Acheran reincarnated on a necron
"I can only spare 3 necrons"
They call it Space Marines 3 because that’s how many Titus can be spared
Genuinely wanna know how they gonna balance them skelly bois in the game
the average gauss is deleting a space marine from existence
Mfw people really underestimate just how fucking broken Necrons are in lore
I swear to the dark gods if the multiplayer is only 3 players again Im killing someone
Isn’t Szarekh low C’tan level?
Szarekh has the best Necrodermis body, the most cognitive clarity, has a C’tan shard powering his staff of light
casually time travelling and having soul erasing weapons
And can speed blitz Space Marines veterans casually
Without trying according to the book he was in for the Blood Angels
And all Lord and higher rank Necrons have the ability to alter how they experience time, meaning they can amplify their reaction times by tenfold by experiencing everything slower
i wonder if theyre gonna make the scarabs an threat to be feared in sm3 if necrons are included
those bois in lore are terrifying
I want to fight lore accurate Destroyers and Flayed Ones
Ultrabuffed sandevistan
you're fucking dead
Imagine fighting a Doomstalker
aint them flayed ones trapped in the ghoul starts tho?
Trapped?
yeah i misspoke cause theres a xenos race contained there
and iirc it mentions flayed ones having sort of a lair there
That’s Novamarines I think? Guarding that one area
yuh
they will all die solo'ed by a scout
the only chapter that survived
space marines games are imperium propaganda
Sniper Marine one shotting a Skorpekh Lord
i think it was 7 (or more) chapters who were sent there
WAIT
C’Tan shard fight potentially
Like obv in lore that’s a FUCK NO situation
But imagine having a boss fight with a shard of the Nightbringer
was playing sniper yesterday and I killed a neurothrope in seconds shit is genuinely fried
we are so fucking dead
Uriel Ventris solo’s
We learn the plot of SM3 is to stop the Nightbringer from reforming with other shards
Can I talk to you for a minute?
Titus, we are so fucked
DO YOU REALIZE...
No he literally takes on a shard in book 2
It’s why Pausanias has a necrodermis arm
how does my chud look
show us just how terrifying a monolith can be
play dawn of war bro
I would, IF IT WAS ON XBOX
Looks pure, as though from a pure chapter
necrons spend time turning their HQ into final unit
which is a monolith that can teleport and blow stuff up
and contain necrons
DA players wondering where my HQ went not knowing I pulled a Rick and Morty
Impregnating your sister?
Adopting a freaky sex dragon?
Impregnating a sex doll?
impregnating your sister, you say?
OK I am not one to entertain whining but this is pretty funny
And GW walked themselves into it
Had, evil Honsou Laughter
Have you not seen Rick and Morty?
There’s a whole thing there
something something funny language tower
tbh the whining is justified for once
id take 10 of these over another racist circlejerk lol
give immortals a new model
New trayzen would be nice if they dropped in sync with rt dlc
If they are gonna that's when they'd do it
Why would you want to balance the game around d20s?
That changes the game fundamentally!
Stupid people
when the only TT game you've played is DnD and Pathfinder
Some people have fake nostalgia for pre 8e GW style balance updates
which is it to say Orks were literally unplayable for 3 years straight because they had to pay 30 points for a fucking Rokkit launcha
Destructible ruins are a good idea and should come back lol
my wants for 11e are they bring initaitve back, pointed wargear costs and templates
but the last one is like prolly not happening LOL
this mean you are a chosen of nurgle

sorry lass I dont make the rules
I killed several infected ogyrns in a playground while I was picking fruit
Like a large group of them with a mark 3 bolter
The emperor is proud..
😭 mag never fails to make me chuckle
So funny
I had a dream once where I was an ultra marine fighting off a horde of orks, died in glorious battle in a graveyard of destroyed land raiders
Yea well I had a dream that you didn't
The Four Legged Emperor has declared we attack
Trillions must be consumed
Where's mag when we need her
don't call it that 💀
I will go insane if I pull this out on the tabletop and someone calls it a fucking sex tree
😏

You know what this is? And I’ll tell you what this is, it’s anti sylvaneth discrimination
GW please fix the fucking army rule and wyldwoods
Its kind of insane to see so many people be like "Yeah Armageddon only went through half the planet falling to Orks and another half of the remaining land fall to Khorne and had Angron show up but wdym they cant solo this?"
While also whinging about "Erm Cadia exploded" like Cadians werent being exported to the entire Imperium constantly for 10 millenia
Someone wished they werent half-naked and the monkeys paw curled to give us boob armor
Why not both
Yeah they should have exposed the midriff anyway
Even the nids
yes
SM midriff would finally outsell SM Sergeants
Lord Invocatus has a crop top
Catachan refresh will give us the dose of exposed abs this fuckin game needs
