Speaking about that as FS doing what they did to the Psyker (and Sienna's) staves are more so game sense than lore
because magic staffs are not needed for magic in 40k
the funny disc hover thing
you can just blow up someones head by grasping hard with your hand
They're basically just fulcrums at most
Yeah but the staff adds imposing menace to how you look
sanc psykers only use them because you know they kind of have to
nah
Well
no
Sanctioned psykers are issued a force staff as a melee weapon
its not a focus for them
A lot of Sanctionned Psyker in lore don't have staves, nor Force Swords
Honestly wish Psyker Quarterstaffs were a thing
Force swords are insanely rare
Being a Psyker in 40K must suuuuuck
well duh for the force swords
Thats what a force staff is
that is literally what a force staff is
I mean you're never alone
You have tons of friends
Might have meant in Darktide ?

like 90% of the shit we use in darktide is super rare but it can be hand waved by the fact it's a game
In Darktide
Specifically as a melee attack
Which imo, not as interesting as other options they could go for
Thunderhammer and force swords are the only thing out of our means
tbh
but Inqusition moment

also the relic blade
since its a relic
And the RT on our ship
bout to say
but again Inqusition
Needle pistol are special no?
Needle pistols that are high quality are rare as shit
Also tbf by the time we get access to Force Swords. Logically we survived enough to "earn" it.
More so the Deimos Force Sword than the other
oh yeah we
should not have that LOL
that is an ordo malleus weapon
The Hive Scum needle pistols are lore wise on the higher end of crap
the GK wondering where their force sword went
but bad needle weapons are common enough
the Pysker charging headlong into a Nurgle horde with a Zealot
Oh okay
I don't blame people for thinking needle weapons are on the rarer side
since most people are only exposed to them via eldar shit
and not the other stuff they're in
They are, but more so cause they're not that requested
Could we ever get anymore Stub guns?
Heavy Stub
Like the Stub Cannon in Necromunda or whatever it’s called
The thing that looks like a giant revolver
Handcannons
So here's a bit of an odd question, but does anyone want more human factions in 40k, be they Gue'vesa, Independent Mercs or something else?
imo, not really needed
I want the arb heavy stub
In general, the Rogue Trader Grendyl teamed with is fucking stacked
Nah, just do Chaos human in full force
I would want human auxs but they need to be shit
Would not be surprised in the slightest if she manages to rope a Necron Lord into helping somehow
"denizens of the galaxy" would be a cool seperate thing from big 3 imo with the Severan Dominate but last I heard they were basically gonna fall anyway
that with more xenos mercs
Necron melee weapons for the rejects

like what we got with red corsairs
And a new Deathmark NPC
I want to do more with the Severan
Red corsairs aren't human.
Bits of lore is genuinely interesting
Sad that it's pretty much the only rogue empire that isn't due to like
@nocturne crest
Hello?
the corsair box has a xeno merc we didn't have a model for
40K if the loyalist and traitor chapters were swapped
Kroot mercenary in Darktide
I will continue to hope for it
Until I turn into dust

My dead body
Will continue to root for it
When they dig up my grave hundreds of years later
What xenos can we realistically see being playable?
They will find a piece of preserved parchment
None
None relaly
"Kroot Merc in Darktide now"
You think we’d ever get some form of playable GSC or does lore make that impossible
And if one was planned on being added, the only possible one would have been Eldar, but none
Gestapo vs Cthulu Cultists
wdym "playable", like as player characters?
if so absolutely not lol
Even more impossible
Yeah
And there is still some classes that could be done within the Imperium.
No lmao
INB4 we get another chaos cult as a class.
Never ever
this is the equilavent of asking "when can we get a taliban CIA operative"
Genestealers are pure evil to the imperium
I know the two main classes I hear people say are an Admech rep and SoB
1980s
Honestly, would be cool if it wasn't for the fact that the hub area wouldn't make sense
but idk what else we could get off the top of my head
Penal bomb collars.

Don't listen to Dilara the next class is Eldar Corsair
Still doesnt make sense
Maybe an eldar
Within the Imperium for classes
why the fuck would you have an infected non-obedient genetic cultist onboard an Inquisition ship
Fatshark is sticking to their humans only rule
its a braindead idea in-universe
Makes zero sense
The ordinary rejects we have are barely allowed to begin with
Aeldari could be an option seeing as corsairs are trailing the mourningstar
And they only can join because they wanted to
Wait really?
I mean sky raiders can mean anything
- Brahms/Hallowette literally still kill operatives who wander to unrestricted areas of the ship lol
Oh damn it!
Eldar (and other Xenos) would require a lot of changes, like explaining why Hadron would be working on Xenos weapons and all
Already posted, get out
Boooo get original material
||You can spare genestealers in rogue trader (this is the worst option you can take since your entire dynasty will get infested by genestealers)||
Also I thought that the reason why they even employed rejects is because Grendyl isn't getting resupplied
That isnt how it works
and isnt related to at all to Darktide's concept
lol
I know
That and Grendyl doesn't want more inquisitors showing up.
Would prefer if Fatshark sticks with a human vs human conflict tbqh
I do want a GSC enemy faction
But an example of not just killing genestealers on sight
^
GSC at best are gonna be a future enemy faction
More open tilesets with them so they can have vehicles
the only xenos we could see as an enemy is GSC since they're the closest to humans that would make sense but I don't think fatshark is gonna do another game with multiple factions
HOPEFULLY
Worst enemy of an Inquisitor
Another inquisitior

Okay, I got a new idea: warp shit happens, the original characters from vermintide turn up in the game.
but beastmen, norscans, and skaven was an interesting mashup in VT2
One already has as a new Ogryn

The only problems with GSC as enemy is having them be alongside the current factions
I mean technically aren't the Moebian Sixth and Admonition Cultist separate factions?
Not to the degree of VT2 tho definitely
idr if beastmen are spawned with norscans or skaven
Fatshark wouldnt put a genestealer cult symbol in the no man's land documents for no reason
I know norscans and skaven are together a lot
I could see a Chaos Xenos as a boss
Chaos xenos?
They're both Nurglite
Like a Nurgle Worshipper Xeno
Was there also something about Blightlords?
No
Imagine if they get chaos space marines in Darktide, but it's the purge.
Go for something way out of left field like a Barbaran Overlord
We do need a psyker enemy ngl
Blightlords have no mention in darktide
Yes they would, they bloody did that in VT1.
And it's meant to link up with the Xanathos situation
Nurglite sorcerer
I had the idea of a Word Bearer acting as a boss.
With the level having him preach in the intercoms about the virtues of Chaos
About how the dark gods will save our souls
Yeah but why would a WB be here lorewise
It would be weird for a word bearer to show up on atoma
Aurora
To spread the word of Chaos
Scions of lorgar
Nah they're choas undivided they'll work with what ever
the fucking WBs in RT are doing tzeentch stuff
Thats more a sm2 thing
I’ll show it what happens to crustaceans in my state
Boiled and seasoned with Old Bay
A defiler would be a big fucking issue on atoma
It isn’t even Monday and I miss the weekend already…
Honestly the best way to add a new faction would be through having Belakor being the overseer, and deciding on having other Cults rise up to the fray
Wait, I have a solution: Another inquisitor shows up, with their own Chaos Warband.
Have two hubs areas: The OG and the second one with this Horussian inquisitor.
Is it literally just large scale chaos activity
A Word Bearer showing up would be too much of an escalation for Grendyl to manage
Tbf that's the point
It's basically just "The enemies of Atoma"
And used in place of whatever enemy they do foght
Just a Moebian term for any enemy to the Imperial regime
A Word Bearer ?
His name is John Word Bearer
Like a single one or even just a small faction or them
the Darktide consist of a number of Daemons and Xenos species, that hold worlds within the Moebian Domain's borders.
there you go
Like the Reject could kill a CSM
I just found this searching word bearer.
Ah
It's very much no issue...
I dont think they would have be'lakor show up in darktide
The only reason I knew of term "darktide" was from WHF iirc
Yeah part of the reasons why the 6th rebelled is because they were literally never told what they were fighting until they were in the trenches
Just one confirmed to be helping the chaos insurgents might do it yeah
I think they will.
Word Bearer? Hadron, hand me the rusty spear
Very much an enemy Imperials will drop everything to do with if they get wind of it
Which like
That alone would probably get most people to rebel ngl
Hah, not really
I would actually fucking kill for 40k Be'lakor in a video game
he has aura in fantasy and AoS
but he's kind of a jobber in 40k
him being in a game like daemongate
You know what would be terrifying to see in game as an obstacle we need to avoid most of the be mission then find a way to destroy at the end? A Plagueburst Crawler
Belakor would also allow them to reference the U5 and the matter of the Vermintide
Mortarian being a jobber for Daemongate was kino
Daemongate is questionable
I mean we got fucking morty in it
Belakor?
What about Vashtorr
a game like that can explore larger daemons
It was pure fan service
Vashtorr got something cool recently
Okay, one final idea that would be out there and might get me shot. T'au/Gue'vesa ship comes out of the warp, because they were fucking around again.
with arch-magos
Literally every GK material is fan service
they body Angron in Armageddon last year
the game isnt questionable
fucking DRAGO shows up lmao
Thats what i mean
For Darktide ? They'd get shot by the Inquisition
I wanna like the GK cause magic swordsmen are always cool archetypes to me but then Drago ruins it
GK operate purely on rule of cool
I just feel like two types of games can handle Bel
But will Gendyrl shoot them?
Basically yes
Be'lakor bossfight
Does Bellakor even have a 40K tabletop model and rules?
Ancient chaos daemon loses to 4 shitheads
It's the same model yes
He has a 3rd and 9th edition model
Chaos Daemon codex I’m assuming?
Belakor shoudln't be something you face, but rather like VT2 having it be the background enemy
Who has the meme of belakor and a steel chair
Is that even a codex?
His reveal literally had a 40k and AOS base prepped for both settings
I didn't even realize he has a chaos warrior as a corpse for his AoS model?
for 40k it's a marine lol
yeah its a chaos warrior + Primaris LT
You can switch the model ye
He goes where he pleases
Belakor is a primordial daemon right?
Okay.
I know they seperated fantasy and 40k
He is the very first daemon prince
Digganobz class?
He's iirc the first daemon prince in 40k, idk about fantasy
same lore in both settings
Same there
Ye same
Killed on sight
But what about belakors connection with age of sigmar and 40k?
Belakor is the first daemon prince in both WHFB and 40k
Fantasy Belakor has more lore
Hes always the first
I think he's the very first mortal the chaos gods ascended to princedom
honestly the one gripe I have with the magic of 40k is I like the winds of AoS and Fantasy
2 separate being
Bruh
he's not a human in 40k
And then the gods went "well, we aren't making that mistake again"
explictly
The settings being seperated is better
Belakor is a xenos in 40k of some unknown species
get this crossover shit out of here
It'd be functionally impossible for him to be one
Belakor in AoS/WHFB is probably a person
Has Be’lakor been around longer than Vashtorr?
yes presumably
Yes
outside of insanely small comedy shit yeah
We dont know
in terms of irl function also yes
the only crossover I like is the stupid fuckign skaven one
since it fits them because they're so stupid
some people have tried to argue he's a human bcs of chaos bullshit but I think its dumb and they're dumb and I'm glad GW put their idiot theory to rest
because I never need to acknowledge it again
I'm glad there's like, an example of an ascended xeno
I guess admech or sisters is the only way to go forward as the next human class.
Wait 40K Bel isn’t just a daemon?
Belakor is a daemon prince yes
Unless we get space marine scouts.
that means ascended mortal
I know next to nothing about the guy lmao
he's a prince in both so once a mortal
Adept and Assassin too
Depending on what they want to do
I do like the wink wink nudge reference crossovers but keep it to that
Wait, can blood angels scouts fall to the black rage?
they have geneseed so yes
yes
Thirst is a feature
Reading it right now and the first thing I see is wild
“Like a petulant first-born son, he is jealous of anyone that wins the favour of Chaos, and thus seeks to undermine them.”
black rage is a bug

Yeh
True lmao
Happens to some in the blood sarcophagus as they get the implants iirc
the only thing scouts lack is like full augmentations but they're given geneseed like as one fo the first things they get
even dante of all people can fall to the black rage
B-b-but God Howard said it’s not a bug it’s…. It’s a…
Yeah btu he never will
geneseed is a very strong thing
also a very low amount of blood angels remained sane after falling to the rage
I wanted to say I was surprised they didn't choose a stormcast for his death model
and don't say they'll get teleported
necrons do that and they're death models as well
and i (think) mephiston fell to the black rage twice
potato potato
espdecially when you know Belakor's pettiness
Yeah
that's why he's the goat
Also belakor's main enemy is fucking Chaos ironically
THE goat
Belakor cares more about becoming top chaos dog than sigmar
(in fantasy and AoS)
yeah also people forget
yeah
his animosity remains the same from WHF
especially with Archaon now being the uhh
Yeah
he pretended to be loyal for a bit
looks at script
His main enemy is archaon
Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse
But now he uh
belakor isnt older than the chaos gods right
He's not pretending to be loyal anymore
he built his own fuckin army
and is ready to KILL
based alert
Chaos gods have always existed
he's a prince
so he has to be younger
lol
Belakor isnt a daemon
Belakor is not neverborn
what.
is what Dilara is saying
Hes a fucking daemon prince
he isnt some primoridal being
therfore he exists within time still to an extent
so hes a daemon?
oh my god man
Okay, I got it. Blood angel scout, but if you use their abilities to many times, they call fall to the black rage and make everyone look like horus.
Sort of but not really
no hes a fucking box of cereals
at this point he's a warp entity
He's not neverborn so he does not exist outside time properly like other daemons
He's still a daemon prince
He's a daemon prince he's a mortal who's been ascended into being a daemon
holy shit I just realized
A REAL AMERICAN HERO
fucking satan from smiling friends
I had the meme loaded I had to
looks like be'lakor
A TRUE WAR MONGER
He doesnt war monger, mongers war him
"man I fucking hate that Archaon guy"

the diablo 4 demon from the tga also looked like smiling friends satan lmao
tbf it's like
vanilla ass satan
only beaten by southpark
and be'lakor is very much vanilla satan flavoured by shadow instead of fire
Be’lakor has a few satan motifs
Maybe alot
Belakor's a bitch join Archaon
it's pretty good
Idk why this sentence is so cool
I can't believe they enshittified Mephisto
I wanted to avoid saying "satan but black"
Satan but Ulgu
Bro 😂
I forgot do we even know if Belakor is human in WHFB
So Daemon Princes are mortals who have ascended to the highest level of Daemonic influence and power they can obtain*?
hes actualy balrog from lord of the rings
Daemon Princes are mortals who have literally become daemons
they're no longer mortal
they have some slightly different rules from normal daemons
but most of it is the same
So the ascension straight up turns them daemon got it
DEI hire satan
at this point titus killed 2 ascending chaos princes
they remanifest and manifest easier
I think it's implied that he is from a time earlier than the "current human"
interesting
Like Constant Drachenfels
Drachenfels was like
You just love that uncle rukas (no relation) gif
an old world neandrethal or something wasnt he
This never works
ye
READ FELLA READ
look who CAN'T SAY
the mods have advised me not to continue this joke
why the fuck can't I find the wiki page for fantasy/aos be'lakor
But Belakor wasn't explained on whether or not he was or wasn't human
there we go
He isnt human
if he was they'd say so
Zesty AHH
Belakor got a huge glowup tbh
from his old mini
he looked so fucking lame back then
lol
I found it after I sent that mesage because I had to directly search for it
yeah his new model is like so S tier
hes massive and imposing
his WINGS
I do not think he is, but i'm not certain of that
ngl
"At the dawn of time, Be'lakor was blessed by all Chaos gods. In the time before the rise of the Elves against Chaos, Be'lakor held the world in an iron fist," it's still a mystery
properly
Kinda like in 40k, has he ever said he wasn't human ?
He prob doesnt care
Ok so I thought Daemon Primarch and Daemon Princes were separate things but this makes more sense
considering have you seen the average human
He predates humans as well in fantasy so he's prob idk
like, pre-AOS Archaon was literally traversing the cosmos destroying entire realities before he came to the Mortal Realms
what that tongue do
and how racist they are
Wouldn't you like to find out weirdo
same thing but one is a primarch
^
So is Vashtorr then a Greater Daemon?
Daemon Primarchs are also daemon princes
hes a demi-god
^
the lore outright says as much
Vashtorr is a demi god/very big daemon
which is an important distinction
Demi god is most accurate though
the "demi-god" bit puts him leagues above Princes
Vashtoor is a primordial daemon
Aka actually has a shot to become a chaos god unlike Betakor
He is of a different Aetheric Domain than the 4 Great Chaos Gods
he posses his own domain
I hope he gets the GHR treatment but I know he wont
i would be so happy
He likely will eventually
but we are talking like
bcs of the master of the Forge of Souls
IRL 10 years or so
because they are REALLY pushing him
Great Horned Rat treatment?
for his ascension
they'll also likely make the IW his legion
GW is already combining them on tabletop
Great Horned rat went from minor chaos god to full blown chaos god
Automod can't catch you if you say 黒人
maybe even more DM stuff as well
So what he wants in actual lore got it
I would prefer dark mechanicum over any fuck ass legion ngl
Thats not even the slur
He's shown up in multiple books recently
thats just what you call black people 💀
and his domain would the dark side of creation, Innovation and Modification?
Honestly if GW made the other Aetheric domain be used, I don't necessarily think Vashtor would be the new god
I forgot the slur lmbo
Malevolent Artifice
Don't type it
smh
hes artifice or something
Malice is Ravanous Dissolution
ew I forgot he's like an angry small person in this art
Thats what GW has made obvious
so far lol
in terms of behavior
or just straight up saying it
the Aetheric domains to not apply to AoS/WHFB
so i can refer to Malice as canon?
Malice has always been canon
^
malal has never been canon to 40k
I do think 40k is missing the flavour of the warp that fantasy and aos have
Not FOrmless Distortion ?
Malice is ignored but at least Vashtorr is getting something
the Aetheric domains are explictly the insane ramblings of Inqusitors and Tech Priests coalated into a basic understanding of it
Not "think". It absolutely is.
AOS and WHF's take on chaos is like
extremely philosophical
and surprisingly deep
40k is very generic
No, Ravanous Dissolution daemons are self destructive
they attack other daemons regularly
and turn on each other
and i say this as a 40k fangirl lol
We're missing a Hashutt but I guess Vashtorr KIND OF fits that
Hashut has nothing to do with the Chaos Dwarves being industrialized
Wait… does that mean in a very minuscule way it’s also connected to the Void Dragon given the whole thing on Mars? Is the Dragon on Mars even confirmed to be Mag’ladroth or just heavily implied to be him?
He's the Chaos God of Tyranny/being a facist asshole lol
I'm going to do a Shermans march on AoS they've had it too good for too long
Not really no
BHAL?
C'tan dont feed from shit like chaos gods do
FUCK I'm a FRAUD
they do like relaity warping shit
I forgot Bane existed lmfao
BANE MENTIONED
hes my favorite primarch
wait wrong universe

but yeah maybe Malice will get something (NO the fuck he wont lmao)
He has many evil industrialists under his command
Malice is neglected in every GW system
LOL
he need more smaller warp entities that do shit
He wont because GW doesnt care about chaos factions that arent big dogs
Vashtorr the goat
Fucks sake the Raptor God has more lol
I want the Raptor god in AoS because I'm boring
and unimaginative

i would love a white/black themed chaos characters and such
What are the most plausible guesses as to what Vashtorr and Perturabo work on together?
but yeah Hashut and GHR make Chaos way more interesting in fantasy and AoS
Obv new Daemon Engines
oh yeah btw did you guys see how they made one of Malice's buddies in AoS
I could maybe see pestigors in darktide
Vashtorr seems to fucking hate the iron warriors
cosmic demon-tech nuke idk
the "Smiling God"
let me find the passage
Vashtorr fucking hates mortals
vashtorr is like
mega racist to meat bags
he genuinely hates mortals so much
its absurd
I don't blame him
LOL
is he like demigod ultron?
Bro’s gonna pull a Revenant from Apex and call mortals Skinsuits
I want vashtorr in AoS
Anyway 50000000000000000 chaos-dollars to the Forge of Souls
I want vashtorr in AoS
Considering he got trapped by them yes
500000000000 more Souls to the forge of souls
He didnt get trapped
that was all an act
And 12 billion bones to Nagash
he got summoned by them
people overhype that scene so much
the ritual was faulty
The aos greed is sickening
I don't want Vashtorr to be in AoS as I don't think there would be enough Industry to cause the domain to open up
Honestly I could see Vashtorr having the same relationship with his followers as Hashut does with Chorfs (FOR DIFFERENT REASONS OF COURSE)
they also assumed Vashtorr was an arrogant small fry
Then he revealed this wasnt even himself, it was just some avatar projection lmao
but yeah Zuvassin is in AoS
Ah
I Just assume if a chaos god or something very powerful lets you hold them like a hostage, they’re doing that because they want something from you and haven’t broken free yet because they haven’t gotten it yet
a
yeah thanks to this editor here
smiling friend
Malice, and "the smiling one"
its straight on his page lmao
Tbh we know the forge of souls is occupied by someone and someone is running it
Necoho 🙏
Can always rely on the Lexi to dash the fandom lies 🙏
yeah all thats left is Necoho
he's the only one to like
not come back yet
in any form
Malal and Zuvassin are both back
People misinformation'd that scene SO MUCH
because no one read to the end of the book
where Vashtorr is like
"okay im done playing along"
lmao
he tears out everyones arms
About as much as the Tau finding the dreadnought?
Yes
my favorite part is
he warns them
5 TIMES
He legit wants to strike a deal
What was the actual context of that scene? The memes have corrupted my memory of it
but the IW are so arrogant that they enever do it
and hes like
"Okay i guess lmao"
slaughters them
Like
then of course the IW kneels
He leaves them mutilated but alive
and pledges lmao
explictly btw
💀
not that they're gona live for long
with all their everything torn out
LOL
Wait, could Vashtorr be the key to bringing Chaos Androids back fully?
How tf would vashtorr influence cawl
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ushmengar we have these assholes that have like nothing
This is like asking how does winds influence clouds
This is already kind of a thing with sekethar robots since i believe theyre automatons ai
one is hyper obsessed with tech and the other is a demigod that is empowered by innovation and technology?
yeah
Cawl is like the only motherfucker doing anything in the imperium and prob has the most access to empower him
tech priests in general feed the fucker
^
Cawl will build an anti Vashtorr device easy, just watch

even over the dark mechanicum since they don't have access to the same resources
Will we ever get a confirmation on which Domain the GHR is containing ?
like it's a water fountain compared to an ocean
I hate when people hype him up as a magical fix anything button lol
Formless or Ravenous right ?
no because AoS doesn't use them
Tbh unfortunately they arent wrong
its literally what he is rn
the Aetheric domains are also explictly innacurate and incomplete
he faces ZERO opposition
like the books constantly say
OH HES UNDER THREAT
OH HES CONSTANTLY PRESSURED
but we see none of that
He’s now jut a tool to progress the story forward
eh
a guy appears accusing him on behalf of the Inquisition
and he just talks around it
they're like 7/10 lol
Correct
the annoying thing is like
Cawl is legit a very fun character to read
his crashout in archmagos was fucking funny tho
but his "status" as a plot device is extremely annoying
yeah
"YOU STUPID FUCKING IDIOTS IM THE ONLY ONE DOING ANYTHING!"
throw Cawl in the deathstar trash chute NOW
The trial of cawl is the best chapter in any book
I wouldnt expect less from a dude whose lived 10k years
I really hope the Dragon in Mars being the Void Dragon is real, it would be so hilarious
Close to 13k now
its the void dragon
The Dragon is indeed a Shard
as long as it isn't the omnissiah we're good
a strong one
still mad the void dragon isnt literally a dragon
Ok I always thought it was heavily implied but never confirmed
And it communicate with a human Psyker ? I think
since that would be BORING
its heavily implied t othe point that everoyne knows its basically true
but its indeed technically not "confirmed"
but the amount of necron references to it is like
if its not a void dragon shard
"okay GW we get it"
It’s gonna be so hilarious when it eventually manages to break free
It wont
We don't even know if it is trying to
also I love how human Cawl is despite being older than dirt
we don't even know if its trying to escape
And being more machine than man
there's a guardian
Like it's even communicating via a kid
Yeah true, maybe he enjoys being worshipped again
Yeah fair
Cawl showing up to Sotha after it's completely stripped bare by nids and saying I can fix this ez 🙂
no
explictly
shut up
The void dragon is the machine spirit right?
Shoo don't contradict me
machine spirits are a bunch of different fucking things
One of the most powerful C’tan if memory serves
...
Ranging from psychic imprints to AI fragments to actual Ai
I thought for a very long time that the machine spirit was the void dragon
No actually it's another C'tan we know next to fucking nothing about
To give an actual answer; Machine Spirits are actually a thing but what they are is left up in the air for writers to play around and have fun with in novels and rulebooks. They are either:
- Actual magic machine spirits
- Leftover AI
- Influence of the C'tan of the Void Dragon lumbering under Mars.
Is the knight/titan warhorn the machine spirit doing a battlecry or nah
Leftover AI is my fav
just loud noise
Hence why I said one of. For the ones we do know about it’s def on the higher end
I want the Omnissiah to be a god AI like Anubis
Crime spoilers but
Kinda like STC being used for a couple of different things
one of the shorts has a story like this
where the guy is trying to solve a murder in some rich aristocrat house
and the twist is the killer was an AI possessing the House
and protecting the family
its very neat
I do like the machine spirit being the void dragon
AI are some of the best parts of 40k
Yeah but it is it triggered manually by the crew or is it something the machine spirit does?
100%
its literally a horn, its triggered
its a psychological weapon
the overly used example being UR and the DAOT ship
Gotcha, ty
also the one in the arch mechanicus
100%
i love robots in fiction for that reason
their entire idea is servitude/slaveryt
so its nice to see them "free" in 40k
the DAOT one is a bit heartwarming since it seemed to actually give a shit about the crew
until you know the apes showed up
Yeah it literally said "fuck you all, im leaving"
Also plays into the fact that the men of iron uprising wasn't as black and white
So wait
in which a lot of AI prob sided with humanity in some regard
just to be wiped out and hated
In terms of C’tan shards I know one is in Mars, and another is now with Ammentar and waking him up
No robot uprising is ever black and white, people really love joking about it on terminator when even its inspiration with the Butlerian Jihad in Dune left it vague as to why the robots rose up
Do we know where Mepet’ran is?
AND funnily humanity literally later made peace with them
Shards.
Tbf Terminators aren't even a robot uprising lol
Skynet is weird
Its 1 rogue AI basically
It's quite possible that it was just a civil war and the side that was on the losing side used a lot of robots and AI
Like any active shards? Like we do with Mag’ladroth and Aza’gorod
Some here and there
TRUE
Also like
Skynet literally did the job the US military wanted it to do
LMAO
it's either genocidal insane or ends up making peace and doing a fucking utopia with humanity
Nekrosor just casually having a tsar bomb in his pocket
its not a proper sentient/sapient AI
let me find the comic
it depends
well
Skynet acted on pure logic with no morality and ethics in the way
on the timeline
It did what it was tasked to do
Skynet in some timelines is either just a rogue machine or a thinking living being
Its a real damn shame that the nightbringer was leaked so early
AM just did what it was supposed to do don't hate my boy
Wouldve been an insane anouncement alongside nekrosor
Iirc, movie wise it's not sentient, it's just accomplishing a task, but comics, games and stuff imply it being a full AI at some point
Feels Ammentar just sorta came and went ngl, guess he’ll be developed overtime?
Its the same reason I always find shit like people using "clanker" as "ironically" icky.
Hating living robots in fiction and people IRL supporting has always rubbed me the wrong way because theres a lot of subtext to it when you know the true origin of robotic servants in ficiton in general.
Helldivers entire Cyberstan event kinda also showed it really lol
Hes a footnote oneminded character with zero interesting motivation
its why he has no material
He summoned the nightbringer and titus got his ass beat
So my guess is sm3 will continue with nekrosor
Ammentar really does not have much to him lol
hes perfect for SM3 as hes just a generic killer necron
I really want more stories where AI are treated by working class people as colleagues that need to join the worker union rather than enemy
he's more force of nature then complex character
Yeah but given he’s the First Destroyer and basically the leader of the destroyer cult he should have more development
This is why Votann are great
Yk what I want? More stuff about the glass throne.
not really?
He just wants to kill. Thats it relaly.
"dataslate of grudges for calling me a clanker"
Human hate of robots is also just very icky in general
people joke about it but if artificial life existed we'd absolutely kill it
our ape-like mindset of hating anything different than us is supreme lol
You'd think the Imperial Fist chapter master would have some development but not all of these characters matter
I guess maybe making him more of a horro esque Boogeyman in the back of characters’ minds as the main destroyer force does work can probably be written well?
You ever watch Chappie?
Hes already that
You seem like a Chappie fan.
Hes the alledged progenitor for the destroyer virus which is interresting enough
THE DAY it came out, absolute cinema
he literally is that
And has necron dynasties fear him
Depends on the robot for me.
So maybe a necron ultramarine allience in sm3
Iron Giant, Real Steel, Wall-E, etc
Big fan of Chappie tho
Like I know he is but showing that influence more in stories going forward, like whenever destroyers are around you feel his presence even if he’s not there
Do you happen to be a transformer fan
Skynet with the US
the Soviet one
and the one in Japan
Absolutely.
I am
one of the newest timelines has the one in Japan save it from skynet before taking over
Whats this movie again i totally forgot
I go. You stay. No following.
Wall-E is peak
Hot take: Blackout was the coolest thing the Bayverse movies ever gave us
Chappie
I love that whole pseudo trilogy tbh
District 9, Chappie, Elysium
The TF2 story with the pilot
Illegal alien spotted
Prime really is the best.
Iron Giant gets a pass for being good
Y'know the saddest part is that some Terminator lore is actually interesting.
The problem is that most of the media in Terminator barely decide to tackle the fucked up Future
Tbf Titan cores are literal sapient Ai
Isn't the Iron Giant designed to be a weapon or am I getting it wrong entirely
but they're kind of slaves
He is
It's also a fucking MESS
Kent Mansley is so cool
Titan AI's main goal is to protect their Pilot/Accomplish mission paramaters
its hard coded into them
they're slaves to their functions despite being sentient and sapient
that's the issue with a lot of 80s properties
Most of the Michael Bay transformers hurt my eyes due to the amount of moving parts
But I admit.
That sequence was fucking cool
Aliens
Predator
Terminator
these 3 have such a shit time making any cohesive universe
Iron Giant's entire premise iirc is "what if a gun had a soul?"
yea
Wait can transformers really be considered robots
