We found a feudal world cut off from the Imperium that was stuck in like the renaissance era with early muskets, it had such thick cloud cover that most of the planet was in constant gloom, it was ruled by ruthless nobility and the lower classes were so oppressed and downtrodden that they were scared of stepping foot into the light because the nobles would beat them. She obviously felt sympathy for these servants, so while the rest of the group started enacting diplomacy with the Nobles she talked with the servants and began encouraging them to revolt and kill their masters and that she would help them.

40k lore "focus" is inherently tied to the models, as this entire franchise is plastic minis and wargame first. So a lot of stuff that is just a thing in lore doesnt get any spotlight whatsoever because it wont be an advertisement for a mini/army/etc

That all being said, 40k augments range from "Shitbox" to luxury, and an intricate augment like that is very possible. It just so happens that the luxury augments we do see are mostly intentionally flashy because they're worn by the ultra elite and the average Noble gets heart palpatations without the presence of gold
