Of of the first death of US servicemen in the European theatre was a black soldier killed by US mp’s because British pubs refused to segregate
Were they gathering Japanese people in camps because they thought there were spies among the population?
Same country that didnt think the Irish and Italians were White btw. America has been dominated politically by WASPs (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant)
I think that was after Pearl Harbor
On the west coast + Hawaii it was specifically due to paranoia that there could be spies/japanese empire sympathizers
So 1945
And yeah
yeah between the Nazis working to spread other Nazi parties around the world and the extreme isolationism there was a moment where the US might have even been an ally of the Axis powers
it was after peral harbor
People forget how much influence the Nazis were putting into the US before WW2
ooooh.
yeah
the American Nazi party was like
actually politically relevant
as was the British one
ect.
Correct. A major contributing incident that FDR cites for this is when a Japanese pilot was harbored and protected by Japanese-Americans near Hawaii, iirc they killed people to protect him?
just like in WW1 the main thing that lead us to back the allies was money
that got us into the war outright
Japan attacking pearl harbor killed any chance of the US joining the Axis powers
during WW2
The Niʻihau incident occurred on December 7–13, 1941, when the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service pilot Shigenori Nishikaichi (西開地 重徳, Nishikaichi Shigenori) crash-landed on the Hawaiian island of Niʻihau after participating in the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Imperial Japanese Navy had mistakenly designated Niʻihau as an uninhabit...
The US was selling to the Germans and Italians
less then Britian
but the US was selling
just commodities in general or weapons?
Like there was a period in the 30s where the US considered the greatest threat at the time was the British control of Canada, not the Nazis.
the Japanese American civllians didn't kill anyone, but they def injured people
well
the japanese americans harboring the pilot
Yeah correction, they got killed in the process
My grandad was one of the boats we leased
When we returned it, after the war, the crew got confined the their ship because they kept fighting the US soldiers over the fact two couples had been lynched off a bridge nearby
My grandad and his friends couldn’t understand how they’d all lost friends da trying to stop specifically that process
the husband was like
the only one heavily in on it
iirc
but the Interment camps were very much racist lol
and a majority of the people sent didn't harbor any loyalty to the Japanese Government
Yeah, it was motivated by anti-Japanese sentiment
They had soldiers from the camps
Assigned to Europe ofc
and a lot of the people sent never got their land or houses back
or property
ect.
The 442nd Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the United States Army. The regiment including the 100th Infantry Battalion is best known as the most decorated unit in U.S. military history, and as a fighting unit composed almost entirely of second-generation American soldiers of Japanese ancestry (Nisei) who fought in World War II. Begi...
the one state on the west coast least effected by the internment camps
was ironically hawaii
because way too much of the population had Japanese ancestry
My mom used to live in Hawaii and her job was to be a pretty Blonde American woman for Japanese businessmen on vacation to drink with
for the US to even try doing it the way they had in California/Oregon/Washington(state)
The idea being that they then buy her drinks or she encourages them to buy more drinks
and then the after war period where quite a few GI's returns from the Pacific with Asian wives and faced constant harassment because people just assumed they were Japanese
(Note: Often were)
They were quite a few Japanese wives later when people stationed in Japan after the war ended started to return a couple years later, but a lot of the earlier ones were from other East Asian and Pacific island countries
Shoutout to that time the Aussies rioted because the American men were too popular with women (Among other reasons but point and laugh)
the battle in the UK that was racist GIs vs Black US troops and UK MPs
Prided themselves on immigration? Whilst they still had segregation and whilst they were equally prejudice against their Irish people?
Americans got better rations, pay, access to general goods, MacArthur was a cunt (His usual state), etc. And alos were popular with the women
Irish people werent "white" until the 40s
And even then it wasn’t their kind of white
The Irish earned Whiteness by being in too many Americans, and the East Coast WASPs losing relevancy (HOWEVER SLIGHTLY). If they had their political monopoly still, the Irish would be seen as Black
even today just look at how Irish Americans are portrayed in television and movies, scruffy, dirty, drunks. It’s still very apparent.
It's also in a lot of little phrases people don't even think about like "Irish Goodbye"
Which if you've ever met an Irish person you'll know is not something we do
Saying goodbye as an Irish person is a 9 step process
Perfidious Albion strikes again
It's an American invention actually I think
The English used to call it a French Exit, while in French it translated to "Leave as the English do"
Perfidious Albion (Richmond, Virginia)
Do tell?
Image for the earlier convo we had around GW
it really shows how the stock market actually works that they posted record half year profits and their stock still went down 3%
Economics makes no sense
Disliked the class, dislike the subject.
Everything always seems to be a "well, actually.." kind of answer
it does once you learn that its all bullshit speculation trading and barely disguised money laundering at least as far as the stock market goes
LMAO
Demand and Supply is everything i guess
The stock market is literally just a bunch of guys snorting copium all day
yup
The stock market is the realm of endless speculation
Just don't pretend the post-ww2 order is over and AI is bullshit no one wants, the number will keep going up if we don't say anything
Stock market isn’t really real lol
It’s very fake
Actual economics makes sense
In terms of
you can call it fake but it will still affect your life
Yeah
The US economy is 8 companies moving the same billion dollars that dont exist around
So learn the basics of the extra fancy slot machine and gamble
That and numerous factors impacting how much stuff is wanted and how much can be made for them with limited resources
8? i figured it was more like 4
4 of them are AI companies that have pretend money that doesnt exist
That’s every economy
If you have a stock market you have a bunch of “fake” money that’s real
frankly stock trading hasnt been an actual part of economics for like 20 years
yup
You can use it as your own degenerate casino to print out cash if you want
It’s what I do
It’s also what my parents do
💀
What are we doin here bro
it's what most people who want long term investments do wolf
Yeah
China’s stock market is so fucking funny lol
It’s just as degenerate as every other one
long term? you aint doing it right if you dont want instant returns
But the Chinese government puts their finger on the scale sometimes lol
Clearly this is worth giving Nvidia another bajillion dollars: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/l5gUGL_VnT0
#aryan #agartha #vril #vrilshorts #whitemonster #yakub #charliekirk
if you want to play roulette you gotta do way more volatile investments like crypto
now that's where the addiction is
Also yeah the stock market isn’t good for instant return
If you want instant return you do crypto shit or actual gambling
nah I've known about crypto since I discovered bitcoin in 2011, completely rigged game if you're not an insider
Communism with Chinese (Capitalism) characteristics
then why are all the major investors on the boards looking for that?
Dengism...
Glory to Deng
note by instant i mean return within the same quarter they invested in
💯
Deng deadass turned China into what it is now lol
To think he almost got executed
💀
They want to see a good ROI, bu they wont cashout
Wonder how that would have went
I'm fascinated with Deng because he was so good at building up China
Cultural revolution went crazy
Like in terms of modern head of a nation he's top 5 at least, right?
They killed his buddy Liu Shaoqi and he was next
Bro almost got shot by a bunch of 16 year olds
In terms of how they managed to turn a country around yes
yeah the cashout comes once the company starts to tank, then they move on to the next company
But uh I don’t like him very much for other reasons
lol
🇹🇼

Anyways jokes aside Deng did like an infinitely better job then Mao
Btw those same kids were going to blow up the forbidden city, until zhou enlai and i think lin biao had to save it
Xi Jingping on his way to piss away whatever advantage he might have from the great satan's collapse
Yeah basically
Oh there's even more fascinating
Tbf this dude died in ww2
He got buried alive
Basically state capitalism 101 in country with massive resources and really cheap and huge labour pool
Apparently they were anticipating it the last time he tried pulling his bs lmao
Unsurprising LOL
I will not let death stop me from giggling about insane Chinese warlords
This man is a poet
Chinese warlord era
Is highly entertaining
It’s also a horrid period of time
But it’s so interesting
Warhammer 40k lore when actual Chinese history walks in the room
Comedy is just tragedy turned sideways, but yeah its fucked
Its when any sicko in a uniform with some experience could potentially become a warlord like its spring and autumn period again
Yeah
Chinese history has better numbers for realism than the Imperium of Man...
history could have gone so differently if one warlord or another did things slightly differently
I recall when the garrison of a city being sieged by rebels in the an lushan rebellion began to eat the civilians en masse in order to survive
The siege of Suiyang was a military campaign during the An Lushan rebellion, launched by the rebel Yan army to capture the city of Suiyang from forces loyal to the Tang dynasty. Although the battle was ultimately won by the Yan army, it suffered major attrition of manpower and time. The siege was noted for the Tang army's determination to fight ...
Wrong period
Yeah this was a long time ago
But still
I also recall when the huanghe dams got breached and flooded to deny japan easy times and keep them out of sichuan
That was in 1938
can i say how much i despise how many subscription services exist
i have to get like 10 different add ons just to watch a movie
It sucks yeah
I gave up
All thats left of my subscriptions is like spotify premium
Basically all the companies now want exclusives for their platform so you throw money at them
Not true
Where are we sailing to captain?
Also, obligatory music: https://youtu.be/4df2CMrpqqo?si=qGwFlI5FHJvj60w3

did they say that?
Idk I just blindly post memes without fact checking as an agent of chaos
yes, in their investor report
@crystal forum
on page 4
Ye there's an IGN article on it too
also We have also agreed we will be maintaining a strong commitment to protect our intellectual property and respect our human creators. In the period reported, we continued to invest in our Warhammer Studio - hiring more creatives in multiple disciplines from concepting and art to writing and sculpting. Talented and passionate individuals that make Warhammer the rich, evocative IP that our hobbyists and we all love.
Honestly good work james, hope they stick to it
i wonder what reason they have for this
Well ppl being happy and buying stuff so big money and good PR leading to more money
The anti AI pushback has made some companies actually think about this
i doubt that's the reason when it comes to GW
Which is good because even if its all money in their mind its saving creative jobs
Reliance on a relatively small number of whales who hate generative AI and can make it hurt if they want to is my hunch
Well if not that, idk
they do straight up say it's for IP reasons which makes sense since IP ownership is muddled when AI is involved
Maybe everyone at hames genuinely hates abominable intelligence
That too defo
Its an issue everywhere
GW might just want to be 100% sure they legally own the models they have
-
Paranoia about copyright
-
GW always being of the opinion of slow and steady being extremely low risk
-
Good PR
They already banned AI anything at golden demon
No AI background art for dioramas and stuff
It helps that literally every other company using AI has been repeatedly (and rightfully) given shit for it, always called "slop", etc
Someone earloer saod just the act of saying you dont use it is great PR
Plus GW actually values artists
dawg
my nvidia drivber updated by itself out of nowhere
i genuinely believed my pc died mid game and it was just the driver
what the fuck
I had similar issues with my nvidia recently
Which is to say my computer blewd up
it's not the first time it happened either
hopefully it isnt palantir stealing all my porn data
you WILL share your search tags
for national security reasons
You won't like them.
Well we didnt expect to like, enjoy them we were expecting to throw tomatoes at you
You underestimate the amount of weirdos who lurks
Like meee...!
"I HAVE A BRAIN INJURY"
Also I just realized that it's likely that the reason why Vortigaunts are the cooks in the resistance
Is probably because they likely already know how to prepare Xen wildlife
Hell, it's probably an improvement for them to be with the resistance
Also yeah, during the elevator ride down Black Mesa East. You can Vortigaunts wearing chef hats cooking a headcrab
Galunga!
LMAO
yeah in the way a slaughterhouse values pigs
if you are referring them not crediting their artists (which sucks) there's a reason for it, they stopped crediting any creatives by name after people got very shitty about Matt Wards codex writing, at least that's what most people think is the reason, we've of course never heard this being confirmed by themselves
let's be real, they're not heartbroken about not having another duncan, nor have they improved with the litany of creatives they either fired for standing up to fash or drove off (Reynolds)
Or for that matter the studio model designers themselves...
First time I've heard them firing creatives
or like, I'm sure that has happened for some reason or other myriad of times across the years but you know
i was under the impression that GW sculpters are all like 30 years into their career
The one that did the solar auxilia storm sculpt resculpts and some necromunda was not a fan of how his work was treated

Can't have the government finding out what you jork it to
Because palantir
Definitely stealing corn data is 100% what their after
pretty much everywhere
Yeah idk why people expect corporations to be honest
No such thing as Data privacy
Yeah its why I laugh when people are like
"GRRR THIS ONE SPECIFIC COMPANY STEALS MY DATA"
Guys
Honestly...some people just wanna be heard ig

Brothers
I havent seen depictions of Beastmen in 40k but i just recently read it in Son of the Forest that they've existed since GC era
They literally had a killteam
then again my lore isnt that big
ban this guy
I mean

The only cope on this world is some companies dont even lie to ypu about it. Google tells you to your face it sells your data, while that other browser made its WHOLE THING about privacy and did it anyway. If I have to be stabbed, look me in the eye
Yeh my lore isnt as vast
Fellgor Ravagers
beastmen should be forgotten and die in a ditch
The 3 people that like Beastmen loved that KT
Reminds me of that guy in the US with the boothat
Don't worry GW already did
Yeah i definitely havent seen alot of these guys
Sadly they were all too sleep in their retirement homes fo comment
Beastmen have had one cool depiction and it was in the early Gotrek & Felix books
This a beastman too?
no it's a kitbash
Look like someone just combined a servitor and a dog
wdym "servitor" 💀
What books ahve you read?
Idk
YOU'VE GOT TICKER, BOY. YER THE NEW DAWGMIN

You're the man now dog
unless this is a first law reference I'm giving you a -2
One chance at life and your name is Scrotus. Brutal
Only a handful
Horus rising
Fulgrim 30k
Angron slave of nuceria
Son of the Forest
Khan (audio book)
on False Gods now atm
Some lore ik are just from lore videos lmao
I suggest picking up some AOS books too
Age of Sigmar?
Nothing but 30k
And some xenos stuff
jesus christ
Yeah
what an awful intro into the setting
Read Night Lords omnibus TRUST. I have a 100% bias
Tbf literlaly every source tells you to read 30l books
No?
30k literally has nothing to do with modern 40k
What source???
I followed the list for 30k honestly xd
Yeah bad move 💀
Grim
30k prepares you for like nothing in 40k
When I was getting into 40K faction books it suggested “oh the top warhammer 40K books
Fulgrim
Etc etc
You can guess
Yeah but those are just a few 30k books
theres 40k ones next to them as well
this isnt a "source" its a random store maggie 💀
LMAO
Oh generally like 30k transition to 40k is definitely from lore vids 🤣
It was some fuck ass website for book reviews
Think tbh i've started getiting into 40k staff maybe 6 months now
I now just type a faction name into Apple Books and find one I like
Lore is pretty crazy
I did like fulgrim's too
EC pre-heresy were cooler
I mean it's not inherently wrong to start with 30k, you'll just miss a lot of the nuance of the world in general
a friend of mine did the same and it has been pretty fun to listen to his theories and ideas what might happen along the way without any proper knowledge of the 40k universe
Thats the thing though
My go-to suggestion for 40k starts is always gonna be like, Eisenhorn as a great intro in. Even the Ciaphas Cain books are better for 40k than any 30k book. 30k works better as a retrospective, almost. But Eisenhorn, while being great, is really "Babys first 40k", its like the Batman Year 1 of 40k book suggestions. Or more like Long Halloween
the HH doesnt really cover the main parts of 40k like at all
it took us 51 books for it to be finally over
now only the NEW Scouring series is covering the transition to 40k
40K books I suggest
Assassin kingmaker
Luther
Lords of silence
Day of ascension
Spear of the emperor
AOS books I suggest
Almsot any of them
Dominion (good lore intro)
Beast grave
Godeater’s son (read this much later)
Dark harvest
Skaventide
HH is a fun side thing for Astartes fans
^
its superhero slop media
it doesnt cover ANYTHING of the Imperium's transition to 40k
like, at all
Lmao
minus maybe like the webway project and the astronomican?
thats literally all i can think of it lol
the actual transition shit is all in teh scouring and that just has 1 book rn
And does the Webway project even narratively matter now outside of Master of Mankind, really?
Was surprised to learn that the recent book was the scouring
Thought by now there was a handful already
Can’t wait to stop hearing about hytale in like 2 weeks
What is that
They milked the shit out of 30k for over 25 years so
Warhammer has too much lore for one to learn, you must simply be born with the innate genetic memory in which it is stored
Yeah good point it literally doesnt lol
Minecraft with rpg elements and micro tractions made by the hypixel team
Yeah uh ill stick to Minecraft i think
That epic moment when the lexicanum dive is genuinely the best way to get into the lore
Make minecraft great again
should I know what is the hypixel team
Would rather see blood in my stool
Hardcore ballbreaking map makers
map makers for what
also redstone techpriests
Idk if its official i heard notch? is planning MC2?
ah
Counter Strike
It’s the largest (and most wow like) Minecraft server
nah Notch is done with MC
hes also like a transphobe asshole so
It's 5 am you have a test in the morning and you've been reading Lexi pages for the past 9 hours because this is the real knowledge you need in life
Oh lol
Notch is a turbo loser
He's been saying something like that for like 10 years
You learn something new i guess
I didnt even know that 😂
yeah MC is not going anywhere because the game is great as it is
like- theres no need for a "sequel" lmao
its one of THE most successful video games in human history
like unironically lol
Mojang after a hard 8 hours of work a year
Best sandbox game anyway
Hard to improve perfection tbh
What ever they do in a MC2, it'll end up worse than just updating MC
Endless possibilities
tho i do love the new shit they usually add
My favorite part is seeing streamers play the game and they are like “woah- I did not see that guy coming” and then talking about the most basic game play elements
Making 2 mobs and then saying "You can only have one" for literally 0 reason was peak dripfeeding
Tbf
Nah thats shit yeah
but they also made amazing stuff
the cave updates for one example
i love going to the depths of literal hell
: )
RL craft best mod|
fight me
Is that what you said to get modded here
Unfortunately.

They cancelled it tbh their new plan is to add old mobs into new updates when it feels appropriate
The old mob vote mobs
Yeah im glad they did that shit
i remember when the game had like 20 mobs
now its like 70+
Peak
Saw the new baby modes tho
Most depressing addition since the happy ghast update, now im traumatized killing the baby animals 💀
Like I don't care about companies getting my data except for palantir i dont want them seeing my data

They'll always get your data.
Hope they cry at what they find
Next update adds a bolt pistol
GUH
Voltz memories
nuclear armageddon in MC is peak
This kills the cow
💀 💀 💀
me when they get me
BRUH
Girls just accepting it
When your twink friend tells a story where they're clearly the bad guy it feels a lot like this
Her eyelashes are fierce though
awfully specific

STOP IT
What?
I'm not the one who made the cow so glam
Glad to see cell theory exists in AOS
AoS & wh40k are in the same universe right?
No
They are utterly unrelated they just share khorne nurgle Slaanesh and tzeenthc
Otherwise they have zero connections
Age of sigmar is an extremely high fantasy post apocalypse (times 4) setting
Yes and no

In lore 90% of people are servants of chaos
Let me be the chaosy imp that I deserve to be
THE SNOWGLOBE ISNT REAL
for context warhammer 40K originally existed in a snow globe in nagash’s office but that was retconned
So AoS has giant rats and talking dinosaurs?
Hi
Die heretic
Go dig a trench
I did
Then go sleep in it
I am currently digging a trench while besieging a single house
For I am the finest Kriegsman
Emperor to Horus circa Horus Heresy
Brainrot.
also having read the books thats what Horus did to him instead lol
You dare speak heresy against the Emeperors true strength
Shut up man
The 2 material realities are separated.
The 2 Magic realms (Realm of Soul >< Warp) are separated.
This is the only thing that matter.
But outside of it, the different setting are part of a multi-verse, and Chaos basically invade the Magic realm then the material ones
Naur
Yar
Diggy diggy trench
Dont care.
Get new material 📢
take the roleplaying to gen-chat
Is there room for even crappy humor in your heart
No

No lol
"heresy" and "muh emperor" and "krieg" jokes are like 2012 humor bro, i need you to lock in
Boooooorrrriiiiiinnnnnngggggg
I need you to lock in and stop hating on someone for having fun
Im not hating on anyone. You're being loud
lol
10/10 ragebait
Not really but okay
Krieg fans truly are one and the same
Lore accurate
He's even dying on a pointless hill he's a FANTASTIC Krieger
I do love the transition of
Comes in
Says unfunny LARP memes
"HEHEHOHO DONT HATE ME GUYS HEHEHOHO"

Did it not even for five minutes 😭✌️
💔
Is it really us that are aggressive when the 2nd comment is just standard "Heresy" accusing ?
Man dare dabble in pleasure for but a moment and he is to be struck down
One must kick a soccer ball into a minefield once in his life no?
lol
Soccer ball? Kill him
I forget I am surrounded by Europeans in this server
Well I should say the entire world outside USA
But mostly just Europeans
And? You want Americans to be treated differently?
Btw, your nickname for this server is the most antithesis to the Krieg of 40K. Fake fan.
Theres like 4-5 Americans in this channel alone lol

Only 4 others besides me?
Among the regulars, kind of. There are more as well, but they never say anything about their origin. Though, with some pattern on their convo, they are pretty sure to be Americans.
Perhaps.
Oh you asked the stages of saying goodbye as an Irish person, so first you sort of make sounds like you're about to get up, like an exhale of breath or muttering "boys a dear" your host should pick up on this and say "suppose you should be heading off" at which point you look at your watch/clock/phone and go "is that the time" and mention how long you've been chatting etc, you then make your excuses for what needs to be done and why you've to go and make your first goodbye, you'd then stand up and begin to leave, they go with you while still talking to you, you will potentially mention seeing them again soon and will stop at the door where you will remember something you meant to say and you'll discuss it for a few minutes before saying "now I really must go" and saying goodbye again, they will then open the door and you'll step out and have a wee chat again, they'll also leave the house and stand outside with you while chatting some more and then finally you'll say one final goodbye as you leave, while they stand waiting, then as you get in your car to drive off you'll turn around and look at them, they'll still be standing there and you wave and call out "bye" they will do the same and then and only then will you leave, they will watch you leave while waving and only after you've left will they go back inside and close the door
This process can take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour
The jist is essentially the guest is instilling that they don't want to leave and are only doing so because they have to, while the host is acknowledging that they don't want to leave but accepting they need to and insisting that they wish they could stay as well but can't
Work more or less the same at home
Someone goes ajú or nå and then talking goes on for another 15 minutes and then leaving takes another 45 minutes
Sssssh
Senseless comment 💔
Is that just how the majority of Irish people say goodbye to one another? Its pretty long winded but its kinda sweet in a way
A fellow American but he's a kriegs man fan
Usually family, close friends etc
damn if only the thing made by british people had more americans involved
also hot take but patriotism is gay in a metaphysical sense
a country is nothing more than a vague concept created by the aristocrats of old so the peasants would fight for them
also americans are sub human
Theres nothing wrong with patriotism
the thing is it can very easily veer towards jingoism (aka most of America rn lol)
imo theres a difference
Amazing. I wish the people around me were that friendly. Or perhaps passove aggressive?
i think you have to make a difference between being proud of culture and being proud of the country you live in
i don't think patriotism is in any way good for anything
and pride is an easily exploitable feeling
That's patriotism, I think you're thinking of nationalism.
Well I've often been confused about the difference.
Lots of people seem to use country and nation interchangeably
no, patriotism is related to a country or state
you cant be patriotic about your culture
Reminds me of how some people in the US actually get in the military to "serve the country" instead of grabbing free education and a bunch of money to set you up
I see I see, still very sweet regardless
The only thing you're serving is children to landmines bro 💔
That was part of the appeal why I joined at 17. I tldidnt have any cause greater than myself besides World of Warcraft. Oh the follies of youth
notice how ads for the army are always about shit like helping during environmental crisis
As long as you learn that's the important part tbh
as if helping people is the main purpose of the guys running around with guns
Or muh navee seels in badass combat scenarios
Making it ACTUALLY look like CoD LMAO
that's when they're being actually honest at least
here the ads are all about the scenery you'll see and the friends you'll make in the army like it's a vacation
Most American military service results in bouts of intense training followed by very long periods of boredom
Try not to frag challenge difficulty impossible
If you're talking about our military there's a reason for this since we don't have a nat guard like the US, so the main military does this job.
it's weird
i've seen it in the US too
Of a truth I do miss my Army friends.
i've seen some pretty hard cope from ex army guys talking about how the experiences made the whole thing worth it
as if you can't make friends at a normal job
Thats part of what gets people to go back
I mean national guard tends to help in natural disasters
Especially combat guys. Lots of them have trouble adjusting to a different workplace culture
Bonus points if they joined the job at a younger age
There are also the people in the USS mercy that literally go around the world giving medical care.
Anyone seen The Hurt Locker? Kind of like that
there exists disaster relief organizations that do this without having guns with them is what i'm trying to say
And a couple other jobs that arent murdering people
That would be a cool job
Get medical school paid for too typically
National guard ends up being faster than Fema (but slower than waffle house) due to being rypically local (and in a different command structure)
Perhaps because militaries are likely to have the funding for those types of large scale projects?
the main point of USS mercy is to help the US military
it's not some benevolent force of good
it exists to serve the war machine just like the rest of the military
It exists as propoganda for soft power
But at ita head sits the God Emperor of Manki- i mean the presiden- i mean that one guy
LISAN AL-GAIB
But still helps people
during a time of war i can guarantee you its beds will not be used by civilians
Assuming both sides are signatories of the geneva convention there will likely be both sides soldiers going in there
there are multiple countries with local disaster relief organizations. this is just a US brain excuse
... I just named the non-military disaster relief force
you said it was inefficient
No I said the national guard was faster
Thanks for following the typical American stereotype.
Military Industrial Complex for the lose
Because they are under local control, instead of federal
Its not an efficiency thing its a distance thing
there could be local things is what im telling you
There typically are, and they are supported by the national guard
I think their point is that we use a military outfit for disaster relief when other countries have organizations independent of their militaries that do the same
Like we just have both
The fact that we use the national guard evokes certain questions though, questions which can't be invalidated by "ita the American way"
Not to mention a military is likely to help out with a natural disaster anyways, because they have manpower that can help
Many countries use the military for disaster assist.
Oh?
Perhaps Im missing the point too then
Look at all of the countries with high number of storms.
The GSDF contributes to the protection of Japanese lives and property by conducting disaster relief operations, such as rescue or lifesaving operations as a result of large scale accidents or domestic natural disasters, including earthquakes, storms and flood damage, volcanic eruptions, or snow-related disasters.
No?
All of the SEA countries deploy their militaries during storms.
Militaries have been used for disaster relief for millennia which makes sense, having a reserve of well bodied people who can do stuff in a coordinated manner helps with that
So is the point that the US leveraging he zeitgeist for its military by using it for disaster relief produces incorrect ideas of patriotism, or am I completely off base here?
wait why am i arguing about this i don't even care. my original point is that the army will make you believe you're joining to help people in times of crisis yet when shit happens you will be the first to put a bullet through somebody's skull when ordered to
Yeah thats true
doesn't matter how much they help, that's just the state using assets at their disposal
African countries, Australia/New Zealand, Central America and Mexico.
Ah, there, that makes sense
the worst is you might even be shooting your own countrymen as an american national guard these days
To be fair, when you want people to believe in a cause you do your best to make the cause look benevolent. Perhaps ironically we are chatting about this on a discord server for a game where the characters live with the same type of indoctrination
I do not envy the national guard of blue states rn tbh
Since they have conflicting command structures, no agency and all of the accountability
Some months ago they were advised to not follow unlawful orders. We'll see how that works, because ICE sure doesnt care..
Governer tells you to resist federal authority, but you are still accountable to the feds
i don't trust military personnel to not follow orders. that's just contrary to how a military works
Granted.
The hope however, would be that individuals recognize their personhood before their military status
Id argue they purged out most of the elements that would have qiestioned orders (most of the experienced nco class) during the surge
Historically low statistics there, but hope is hope
i don't want to make a direct comparison but the werhacht was given many illegal orders during WW2 and the rate of german soldiers not following orders was super low
not to mention you'd just get sent to concentration camps if you dissented which is a different situation
we're not at that point yet
Exactly. And that comparison remains valid at this time. That gives so many of us reason to be afraid
No no, we are at the concentration camps already
'Twas even mentioned in the infamous Project 2025
The us also had concentration camps
They just didnt kill the people in them explicitly
Legit everyone was doing it during the war (doesn't justify it but puts into perspective on how horrific the germans one were to already horrible places)
Damn these foreigners have decent ragebait
I mean you are in a discord for a game made by swedes
in a british IP
Imagine being one of us and having to live with its possibility in everyday conversation. Its exhausting
God I hate the double tap auto emote response
yeah why does it pick the most random emoji too
but that one isnt
Yoy can change it
my most used is
Dont remember how
And what's worse, the culture has declined far enough that everything touches on a socio-political issue, and many of us have great difficulties abstaining from false attribution error
My goat is in the new fallout episode
i assume he won't be funny at all
wild wasteland shit worked because the rest of the game was pretty depressing
He's there for like 5 seconds
I said this before but the Kriegsmarine largely got off scot free after WW2 because everything they tried to get em on was done by the Allies first or worse
That too
to be fair the navy's orders to sink civilian merchant vessels was given by the command
Donitz was charged with something
it was their doctrine after all
Like the Kriegsmarine started the war helping survivors from ships they torpedoed until the Allies used that chance to fire on them. You dont have to go far to find examples of Allies being like "Yeah there were a lot of survivors in the water from a German/Japanese ship so we just left em/steered the ship through em"
"Karl Dönitz was convicted at the Nuremberg Trials primarily for planning and waging aggressive war (crimes against peace) and war crimes related to unrestricted submarine warfare, specifically ordering U-boat commanders not to rescue merchant ship survivors, which violated international law. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, serving time for allowing slave labor and directing attacks without warning, but acquitted of crimes against humanity, largely because the Allies used similar tactics"
japanese navy commanders though should have all been executed
Yeah, the Navies openly admitted they didnt want to set a precedent for trying those crimes juuust in case it came back around
also just unit 731 and how it was basically acquitted on all charges
And the Soviets and Americans racing to scoop up every scientist in Germany
The Space Race was Germans racing each other
USSR First to kill a dog in space 💪
the fact that the US could send man to the moon in 1969 proves to me that the only reason tech is so slow is because no money is being put into research
it's insane how they pulled it off with 60's technology
Not much money to be made in space, so
Fun fact: the Musk rocket that can land itself after launching emits a SPL of over 140 dBA at a kilometer away.
I fully believe this is due to lobbying because there is 100% money to be made in space
What's an SPL?
like i know this is pretty obvious but imagine if the budget was still like this instead of all fucking going to israel
We have fancy rockets that can move people and things, but it will destroy cars, houses, and people's hearing
In what ways?
Sound pressure level
Yeap!
Rare earth minerals in asteroids and on the moon, helium 3 on the moon (which is why China is so interested in it)
well no shit it's due to lobbying. companies have been trying successfully to privatize space since the 90's
NASA these days just serves as a grant funding agency for companies
i am no joking
that's how spaceX even started
it's all thanks to NASA
The price of space mining will never meet the profit, sadly. Unless someone figures out how to get things to and from space in vast quantities for basically free
so public taxes go to an agency who gives grants to companies so they don't immediately crumble and then those companies then charge the same tax payers money to use their services
i fucking hate capitalism i swear to christ
we have prototypes for moon to earth stuff the most expensive part would be getting it all there, at a certain point the value of the moon cannot be ignored by most nations
China is already gonna beat us there
If only there were some other way of government where resources allocation was determined by objective need...
yeah instead of whatever makes the most money
because private services like railway and healthcare are proven to work /s
So that new Jaghatai Khan model
That looks sick honestly
But I don’t usually get JoyToy figures
now cue in starlink and that shit is so expensive that it only caters to a very specific niche of rural people who can afford it
i genuinely have no idea how spacex is still making money
gov contracts
that's it
Tesla and SpaceX are heavily subsidies by the US gov and that's why Elon had to pussy out of his political shit and suck on the tits of turnip back in June
because he threatened to pull those contracts
This so LBJ could be president + like 6 Marshal Plans to countries that didnt even get better
yeah gotta coup some south american countries
clearly the most pressing issue
at its peak NASA only had a little over 4% of fed budget
Another thing is PR. Nasa went to the moon so much the novelty was gone. The later Apollo mission launches struggled to even get time on the news
So the American public was just "whatever" about it
yeah the reasons are obvious it was always about the politics of making the commies look bad
because we can't have noble goals as a species i guess
I have a few guesses
cough funding from dictatorships who want to weaponize the tech cough
i don't believe spacex's stuff can be weaponized
Starlink seems to have been neutralized anyways
technically It's been done already
As an asset there
99% of dictatorships of the proletariat collpase right before the ethnic minority cleaning that will fix everything for real this time
spy satellites have already existed for a while
and low earth orbit is not good for them anyways
they work better in geosync
So you're saying my country can recover?
And one can jam them now supposedly

depends if you can find them. that's the entire idea
Deport another million Western Slavs to Siberia and this will achieve communism
Was referring to Iran completely jamming all starlink in Tehran
Hardware wise
America wants to try its hand at that, except the ethnic minority of choice is any non-white, but particularly hispanics
With help from russia and china
sarcasm
ah that makes sense
Russias been trying out jamming it in ukraine
And chinas been working on it as well
For a future military exercise
Elon Musk already turned it off for Ukraine while they were in the middle of a drone attack once
now im really curious how you can jam a collection of LEO satellites
You can probably just.... break the connection if you can track it
A magnetic field with a large radius and great directionality
Which only bought time for the black sea fleet before it was ravaged even more by a country without a navy
By sending a bunch of connection requests
Or use a radio jammer to stop leos from getting the output
other than like shine lasers at them since they all communicate between eachother through light
They use sound too
You jam the ground recievers and not the satelites I'd guess
You Ace Combat 7 the entire satellite network
You send some money to Musky
that makes more sense
Whatever the method, it sure smells Musky
Its really easy to see all the satellites so you just saturation attack with the signal they use and drown out the message afaik
god turned off non-historical ai....
the issue is there's a lot of them
Not that many though
insane to me the amount of pro shah flags flying around the protests/revolutionaries
Legault resigned?
And you only need to hit the subset with coverage over the target area
what
When the current shitty thing made up of liars tells you the old thing is bad you tend to think they might be wrong
you'd still need to point the jam in the general direction of each satellite though i feel
The topic of who owns Greenland is settled. It belongs to the glorious people of Nunavut
Not for the receiver
Probably
It's two shit things it's just one is less shit
receiver is on the ground right
Yeah
well wouldn't it be very far away
Starlink isnt like gps where it talks to satellites on the horizon the range to the reciever is limited by beam coherence iirc
If the crown prince ever returns it's a coin flip on whether or not he'll be just as bad as his father
Waves go far
dude
or actually reform and grow
Yes but if you were an Iranian zoomer, which one shot at you last week?
yeah I saw that
Rolls worst coup ever
Asked to die
But yeah it needs a lot of bandwidth
afaik that's negligible since there's barely any atmosphere to mess with the signals
East Asian countries love the death penalty. China still just shoots people. Not even a firing squad, just one guy shoots you in the head afaik
Well in and out of Earth causes refraction.
Man it really was the worst coup ever
Its pretty much the same as wifi jamming just with way more power Im assuming
considering the soldiers that showed up there to "help" were cleary not in on it
yeah
Its more the beam tightness and accuracy to get a 1:1 connection limits you to the maybe 2 dozen nearest sats in the constellation iirc
Not to mention Beam divergence, packet integrity...
Its a problem from a different angle than astronomy
oh yeah that's the idea of why there's so many of them
they all interlink between eachother
||https://fxtwitter.com/oyemnassxo/status/2011372190864908471?s=20|| New Fallout episode spoilers but I need to share this scene because it's really good and I love the actor going all in
Justin theroux nailed his performance as robert house and its peak
︀︀
︀︀#Fallout #FalloutSeason2
scary
If you're a nation jamming all the sats that can talk to an operation area is doable
Doesnt matter if they can talk to each other if none of them talk to the ground
I really need to shower and leave the house im gonna be late
dont shower embrace stink
Alternatively, you could just be late
Don’t shower embrace Nurgle.
Fixed.
Don't embrace, shower Nurgle
Jyna says ~93 jammers needed for taiwan
Meanwhile
Its 100% fake but
They still do execute a lot
But..
They have amusement parks 10/10 no lines
wile e coyote ahh death sentence
Can a hot air balloon get that far?
Wouldn't it require lots of fuel to overcome the temperature gradients?
And the pressure changes too
it would have to be a space balloon
So its nit a linear function
I dont, I expect the sweet release of death
i saw a vid of a crash and it was traumatizing
I'd like to go into a hit air balloon just once
the ppl aboard just jump out
There was the one dude who went up to the assisted breathing required section from what I remember
He survived somehow....
And if I get the gall to go a second time im bringing a parachute or a wing suit and im flying home
i'm scared of heights anyway so your not making me get into that thing
Do you think they like, screamed on the way up as they slowly rose or just sorta awkwardly stared back at everyone as they floated away
don't forget the whistle
Im also scared of heights. Its why I want to do it at least once
you're not right in the head Goat_Tickler97
remember that guy who made the highest parachute jump
I think I might have found an even more senseless chain weapon than the Chain Flail
Go on
The ceo of google?
How to hold while chain active?
just that it happened lol
Who beat the cool dude like a month after
aw man really
Was that a Redbull stunt?
yeah
Oh yeah. I remember this now
Redbull stunt, but it is an actual stunt and record.
they used a weather balloon i think
And if that was a balloon then my entire schema of "hot air balloon" os incomplete
Robert Alan Eustace (born December 19, 1956) is an American computer scientist who served as senior vice president of engineering and first senior vice president for knowledge at Google until retiring in 2015. On October 24, 2014, he made a free-fall space dive from the stratosphere, breaking Felix Baumgartner's world record. The jump was from...
one of those ballons that go insanely high
Like a Chakram
HE IS A PROGRAMMER??!!
Tana.... Tuva...
Lmao, you just never know who!!
rich person break world record, nobody impressed
Pretty much
With enough money, you can do anything.
Im a little impressed. And, not defending his wealth, but us poor people can't afford the time or practice for a stunt like that.
i'm as impressed as somebody who climbs mount everest
However, you need to be smart, otherwise you end up like that submarine trying to do the Titanic tourism.
Than felix
like ok you risked death but also it wouldn't be worth doing to you if everybody had a chance
Ah, that dampens the excitement
The thrill of speed is part of the game.
On the next episode of Hunger Games...

I saw “”””people”””” commenting on the post about gw being against ai that were like “well maybe they will change their mind once they start losing money” and “genie is already out of the bottle” and saw one guy who was like “I’m okay with this as long as they no longer do retcons”
Remember when Russia tried to start its own defense pact and the one (1) time their allies asked for help Russia said no and the US swooped in and negotiated a peace deal for them
the warsaw pact?
CSTO
Why is the number in parens?
Getting my teeth cleaned
Clarification that it was one (1) time
...the number eas in parens because you're at the dentist?
Thats not me gramps
I know.
why is south africa in BRICS anyways
I'm the one with toesies
does it think it's too cool to be in the commonwealth
Just musing on the timing of their comment
Because the ANC ran the country into the dirt
granted the commonwealth is just a vague concept that doesnt really mean anything
but still just having south africa next to china, russia and india is funny
And turns out blaming 100% of the issues on a system that collapsed 30 years ago while you have been in power basically the whole time since then isnt a valid excuse for why you managed to go backwards
corrupt nations... strong together
It is not corruption if we are part of it.
BRICS is just hilarious to me
Any new information today or do I gotta wait for the 16th?
Shoutout to that BRICS waifu post that destroys every serious discussion

Can someone tell me why every fucking clinic, DJ or motherfucking restaurant plays the same music from 2014

If you grew up then wouldn't you want your music playing?
That's when the timeline ended
because pop music stopped evolving
There needs to be a limit
What if I want
Good music?
listen to your own
Because music after that sucks
Also the idea that such music will be familiar, enjoyable, family friendly

Sets you on fire
