There’s a big difference between great crusade marines and 40K marines.

Marines today (40K) are brainwashed to be much more emotionless killing machines than before, made to forget their homes and their prior lives. This wasn’t really a big practice in the great crusade, it’s also one of the reasons we got civil wars like when the fallen turned against the rest of the legion that didn’t really care for caliban and wanted it turned into just another factory world. Of course the demon on Caliban didn’t help but the point is the divide was there of those marines who cherished their old lives over their new imperial lives.

Thats my worry now. This has to be done well. Imo, arbites felt a tiny bit like they were just shoved into the game, but it still made sense. They have to really do some work with the gangers to make it smooth. Imo, they should have their own hubworld because having gangers on the mourningstar will feel odd.

Quick rant: This reminds me of those people that say "I dont like that all of these character creation options so ugly." when playing darktide. THATS THE POINT! The reason for all of our rejects looking so worn down is because its supposed to show that no one in this universe is spared.
