You ever think that like
Some loyalist marines went there one time, got eaten, were trapped in the dude for so long that they had to resort to cannibalism to survive, and finally were set free as fully corrupted space marines
Videos in the 40k verse would be styled off of analog
Like VHS styled shit lol
Cause I always got vibes similar to like
Alien/Aliens
Where the technology is both dated and futuristic
Also the idea of like
"You can open a portal to Hell, along with making actual plasma guns, but you can't have HD video"
Is funny to me
That actually how it is
Its seen like this in rogue trader
I kinda had an idea for Analog Horror 40k

Yum yum slop for the slop god
Jokes aside I think it would be cool
Not even analog horror
Just analog styled things
Kinda reminds of how some other fans would like a horror game based on Nightlords just terrorising you
Need me a version of that image of a dude levitating a slice of pizza with his mind but its Idira levitating a bottle of amasec
Unless you are in the deeper Palace, you are not going to see a colour screen.
Someone is going to die for this crime
It'll probably just be green cuz thats the color of like every imperial computer screen lol
Honestly I have always thought that like
The equivalent of a military body cam footage
But on a guardsman
Would be cool
But I have zero experience in 3D modeling so
Ehh
Again, I still have the idea of like In-Universe Fairytales
Probably don't even need to change much LMAO
Never too late to learn!
I tell myself, slowly losing motivation as I struggle to make a fucking donut in blender and seeing the tutorial goes on for another 16 hours
At the same time
“Flow” was made in blender and that’s one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen, so like…
Reminded that Imperial naming structure for weapons goes from 'Phobos pattern Mk. 5 bolter' to 'Melta'
Like they really just gave up when they got to flamethrowers and microwave cannons huh
"Whats it do Mr GW?"
"It shoots flames!"
"Oh sick! What do you call it?"
"Heavy flamer."
I still find it goofy
Bolter are front and center, Flamer, Melta, Grenade Launcher...
Those are weapons that aren't as seen
I like 'Las' as an alternate name for lasers
So don't need as many known variant
Like they could've done something with promethium
I think they have actually but its like, special weapons
How so ?
Like they do use Promethium in quite a lot of weapons
Hunting Lances' charges
Flamers
Heavy Flamers
Hand Flamers
Vindictor Flamers
Couple of vehicle weapons
Grenades (+ Launcher)
Executor Attachment
Plus with the imperium being full of religious zealots obsessed with purging even the slightest bit of heresy with fire, promethium sees a lot of use lmfao
I'm really just talking about the name, like its nothing deep
Promethius blaster is really the only thing I can think of right now lmao, but iunno
Flamer and Melta just seeeeem a little lazy. Like 'Bolter' is such an iconic sounding name
Melta might as well be Ork speech
Bolter is only iconic cause it is the main weapon of the Imperium
I think you mean pyreblaster
The thing I said was a completely off the head suggestion as a replacement for flamer
Ah
pyreblaster is a cool name tho
Yeah those are the Astartes flamethrowers
Fuuuucking use that name more GW
Looking at the wiki name, apparently Meltas are also called 'Vape Guns'
Melta is the better name there lmao
There's also the pyrecannon, which is same thing as a pyreblaster but its got two barrels instead lol
Terminators need more wrist mounted weaponry. A powerfist with an underslung pyrecannon sounds badass
Never enough bulk
Chainfists are a thing tho
I never super liked chainfists
Like having deadly palms just seems less effective than thunderclaws
Space marine aggressors can also swap the bolters on their powerfists for single barreled flamethrowers
The SM Chainfists sucks, the one that the Eight Fold Harvest Lord has are cool though
This is fine, but I think only Tyberous has the version I'm thinking of
Tyberos' version was the only variant I was aware of lol
Like its kiiiinda a bit goofy
Tho I don't think I would've liked chainsaws replacing the claws either
They're silly but also the only weapon I could possibly picture that guy using lmao
There are similar things
Meant specifically in terms of chain fists
He does
Look at the underside of the fists
Also this as a model example
They're power, chain, and claw mixed into one
Pretty overkill but that's the space sharks' whole thing lol
Fair forgot about those parts
I do wish he had a gun of some sort
Like he's still got surface area on those fists for storm bolters
He doesn't need one tbh, he gets the job done just fine already
Incinerator is cool
I think that's the flamer the grey knights use, and they shoot some blue fire or some such
Also swinging those combined arms space sharks gauntlets sounds incredibly challenging

Like can you even aim bolter fire with a gauntlet that heavy if an Eldar is doing like ballet breakdance dodges
I mean given that he's a space marine and a fucking huge one at that, them shits probably feel light as hell for him
Tbh he rarely deploys to the field outside of CQB environments so he doesn’t need a gun is his logic I’d assume
Its the oxymoron of Terminators being the biggest, most unwieldy looking characters in 40k, but they're CQC specialists who go into cramped af ship interiors
Tyberos almost got fucking ganked to death by 4 tyranid warriors
Which book was that?
Turns out being surrounded is bad
Inside ships using ranged attack is more dangerous, so turning to melee weapon specialist make sense
Literally the one I didn't read lmao
In Outer Dark he casually clears a Tyranid boarding pod by himself
Tyberos wasn't in red tithe to my knowledge
I might be crossing wires in my brain
The nids certainly weren't
i forgot which one, but theres this funny bit in one of the 40k stories about dark angels terminators
The one where the dude falls through stairs into a basement
Or the one where someone can’t stop moving in time
And slams into a wall
basically they get deployed with all this hype and like bazinga the terminators are going to battle blah blah and then teleport in , climb a set of stairs and one of the terminators is so heavy he falls through the stairs and gets stuck, so they have to stop the whole mission to get like a crane and pull him out
Why didn't they just use the teleporters....
risky
Safer to teleport outside then move in
they barely use em in life and death situations, i doubt they use it frivolously
Why are the teleporters so risky tho
Likely not with the risk
because you can get stuck in the warp
Because they aren’t super precise
since your jumping through the warp
And sometimes they just fucking kill you mid transit
Cause teleporting into a wall is bad
None of this explains why the tech is terribly made tho
Or something kills you in the warp
because its the impierum
It’s not terribly made
Comparatively tbh
It’s not great but it’s def not the worst teleportation tech in 40K
If you want to teleport well you use a homing beacon
Which is either deployed via orbital drop or someone plants it
Which makes you much more accurate location wise
Still has the issue of a daemon just killing you mid transit though lol
like their entire crusade since the beginning of the imperium has been based on the emperor using the astronomican guiding ships through the warp , which even with that is incredibly risky, and theyve been using that method for actual millenia now since he could never get around to building better tech before he got fried
If you want a reliable teleportation device in the imperium
It’s either gona be from Lucius or Deimos
Because the custodes sure as fuck aren’t sharing their super accurate ones lol
yeah the deimos guys build the grey knight stuff, and their gear is pristine
So you’re gona have to do with the second most accurate ones
Lucius has the most accurate teleportation tech in the imperium aside from The custodes
Deimos has the safest in terms of warding
You’re the least likely to get horrifically murdered by a daemon or other warp creature mid transit with Deimos teleporters
The only faction with reliable warp based teleportation in 40K is Orks
Every other faction has to gamble a bit lol
they do have better ways to travel across the galaxy though
other factions
not teleportation
but just like, lightspeed travel
also dont necrons have like insane teleportation
like their " troop carriers" and "dropships" transport troops by just dropping a teleportation gate lmao
Which also aren’t really teleportation
Oh that one
Yeah
They need to physically move shit technically
They use a tether for the night sycthe
It’s like a nether portal
Almost lol
how do tau travel through space
Reliable... Orks...
i forgot
Tellyporta tech is funny
Don’t think about it too hard
Normal propulsion or warp skimming
They literally travel through the warp unprotected
And often end up not were they want to be
100% accurate
i dunno how that works in the warp per se, but it seems like someone like cawl should really spend the next 100 years copying that tech
It’s slower
The imperium is okay with the chance of horrific death
lol
In any case orks having reliable teleportation is absolutely a case of tabletop first
Because the ork units that could teleport in were like
Not super super strong
Just read the wiki. So Tau really cannot enter the warp with their current tech and lack of psykers, so they skim the warp to go ftl.
Its apparently a lot slower than any actual warp travel tho
omg i never acknowledged in my own mind until now that the tau dont have psykers
But upside, they don't encounter daemons or any other warp issues
I don’t think mega armored nobz can deepstrike
Yeah the tau skimming tech is useful for them
Just don’t use a bunch at once
Or else you get the startide nexus 2
so basically, they dont warp travel, they just go super fast
like their ships just turn up the thrusters to 100
Well they warp travel sorta
i see
It’s like skipping a rock
ohh
On a lake
No they push against the warp's resistance and the force generated by that throws them forward at ftl speeds
What's strange is they have humans.
Who have psykers.
Yet we hear nothing, maybe they're just killed when they do something sus
It’s adjacent to actual warp travel
Like the rock skimming
They have Psyker auxilleries
also i dunno who guards the astronomican , but i feel like the custodes should really take responsibility for protecting it
Explicitly
Tau don’t get them on the tabletop for faction identity reasons
Mostly
I've never heard of them
oh yeah
And humans
But then Tau don't have many books
All are Psyker auxilleries
nicassar are in lore
Worm bear no ?
No
The small worm ones
The nagi?
Or whatever the fuck
They hang out with ethereals or water caste spooks often
Nicassar are like the microscopic bear thing
Nah they’re big
also the hitman folks making a james bond game looks absolutely dope
Oh tartigrade
so
why is gw stingy with making a live action show, because I heard rumours about that like a while back, but nothing seems to be coming of it
and they arent like, super stingy with the game rights, since 40k games have been pretty decent to great for a while now
Because making shows is extremely difficult, especially live-action.
they arent really stingy, we just got no idea what the fuck they are even doing with it
They are stingy for games behind the scenes, theres a comical history of some stuff they dont allow or pass in games, people just dont really know about it.
100% its hard yeah, but im sure they know it can be a good one, and the benefits to the IP of a good live action show are like enormous
i have to stop using 'like' in all my sentences its a bad habit ive picked up on the internet smh
sounds funny
you got examples?
like did they tell fs to reduce the arbites cape size or something
Isn't there one in the works about a live action with Henry Caville
thats like an eternal rumour
- Characters in darktide cant be shirtless properly due to "lore reasons"
by this point its not happening or in development hell

because like
in reality you are not allowed to say these things
because its all behind the scenes and technically breaks NDA

🗡️

i bet they saw the blood ravens's armoury and were like
" yeah this is lore friendly, they do have most of vulkans artifacts"
and gabe has the agility of a callidus assassin
not newell
the other one
i wish it was that simple lol
because some of the wh plus stuff is decent, especially the goat interrogator, but they arent really maximizing it if you know what i mean
based
ive heard lots of good things about hollow knight, and it looks pretty
havent played it though
im not ...huge.. on metroidvania sidescrawlers usually
Afaik its been confirmed about Caville being involved in a live action, saw some news about it mentioning it briefly cuz he cant openly talk about it, i just remember him mentioning its in a good spot
also not to be a downer about it but like
cavill being involved doesnt really tell me the show is gonna be any good
Its prolly the closest we're ever gonna get tbh
fair enough
It’ll probably forgettable
But it’ll get their foot in the door
For more interesting stuff
im sure theyl do like, all the makeup and characterization and stuff, but i really hope henry cavill isnt just walking around 40k with the casual henry cavill face , his face is perfectly fine, but something about it really doesnt scream grimdark to me , im talking about like the meme with his face just on top of the emperors armor or power armor or something
Not a lot media to be fair, so I think I'll watch whatever they can give, bad or otherwise
why
Why not
Because it’s so generic
Also I don’t like space marines
And 30k is just a SM soap opera
well 30k does seem kinda drenched in space marine family drama yeah ngl
Goes on too long, and all the plot points seem to just repeat themselves
thats basically what it is
" daddy , why dont you love me"
" Im a monarch im busy"
" i hate your monarchy and you"
If they do 30k it should not be their first foray into live action
Too niche
Fans talking about 30k and it being complex is like the warhammer stereotype
also to be fair, live action 40k is hard stuff, the setting is suited very well to videogames and animation
What about people that dont know 40k at all tho
It’s easier to get into 40K I think as a setting
30k requires a ton of exposition and 40K can pretty much be summed up by “Humanity’s screwed”
yeah 40k has some 'static' baselines that are fixed more or less
You can also tell more self isolated stories in 40K imo
Where you just need to know the specifics on that story
like the emperor being on the throne, the imperium being utterly fucked, the primarchs except 2 missing, the others running frolicking with daemons , all the xenos races etc
and the complete despair of defeat everywhere
you have no uber chads running around like valdor and malcador and the primarchs
You don’t even need all that backstory
Can tell like the story of one specific world
Which one would you like to be told about
Show with environmental storytelling the basics of life in the imperium and worship of the emperor, then set up The Enemy ™️
Reading like Descent of Angels just a few days ago, about the Dark Angels, interesting read but not that far into it yet
Could be one they make up for the show tbh, would give more freedom
Doesn’t even need to be an established one
the only acceptable ending in 40k to me is demetrian titus , first of his name , emperor of the imperium of man, master of mankind and the avatar of the omnissiah ascending to his rightful place at the golden throne while the warp consumes the entire setting and it cuts to black with leandros whispering to titus on the throne " Victory my Emperor!....but remember, the taint of heresy never fades...." and he gives him a squint eye and the setting ends
But if I’d have to pick, I’d say necromunda
See THAT would be interesting
Give me early 30k or DAOT
Yeah, maybe about the "golden" age of humanity or just before dark age of technology
I think they got a lot to work with if the setting is around that era
Gives the best 40K vibes objectively
With lots of variety
Armageddon could be a good one
Hell yeah
Got 3, I mean 2 wars of content
they can do any kind of world isolated story in 40k, but I think they are not gonna go that route even if it makes sense, they are more likely going to want to have high stakes and give the audience a story thats relevant on a decent scale, like sm2 kinda featuring bigshot characters like calgar and being the 2nd company of ultramarines
PLEASE I cannot take another fucking Titus story
its not titus
I want to see baseline humans
I want to see perspectives other than big man in armor
Give me xenos (won’t happen)
but yeah i dont think they are gonna make a liveaction show about the seven samurai 40k remake about farmers defending themselves from drukhari on an agri world
These offer more interesting and whole perspectives IMO
I’m not talking about that
Like give me a simple guard story
Space marines can still be in it
But don’t make them the whole show
well, i dont see why they cant do something like armageddon
Would be perfect in balance
well I mean I can see why not, because its hard
Angron maybe
im willing to bet money its gonna be about a space marine strike team with accompanying guardsmen and their ship and a planet lol
He was there right, or am I misremembering
yeah angron was there on the first war, him being there led to the whole grey knights space wolves debacle
iirc
i think he shows up again in a later war I cant remember tbh
im not a fan of daemon angron either
he always seem to get krumped because he has to deal with being a daemon
whereas kharn is out there butchering everyone like a true champion of khorne
and also getting free resurrections without turning into a daemon
Its not him, its every single daemon primarch
they can respawn, so nothing really matters
yeah but i feel like the other daemon primarchs get like
epic deaths by comparison
angron is here, angron is angry, he killed 90% of the grey knights around him, then they banished him
That’s fine, just don’t make it 80% space marines with a few guard supporting characters
His fall into chaos was the more interesting bit to me
I was marines to be the exception
Not the rule
They are scarce, miraculous warriors, it’s not something you see every day
sure, i dont mind a show about anything tbh as long as its good quality, they can make it about a day in guillimans life for all i care
Hellish
but hes so chubby
you can tell he grew up eating baguette and pastry in a cafe in france
what would be ideal
is if they can adapt a book
one of the good ones
like ravenor or eisenhorn or gaunts or something
Then it ends up being one about Caiphas Cane
yeah that too
Would watch honesty
so they dont have to deal with writing their own shitty script, just adapt one of the good books
I don’t want it to be about any monolithic hero
I want them to beat it in that life is expendable in the imperium
You are chaff
A man among untold trillions, you could even say
You could even posit that to be a man in such times is to live in the cruelest most bloody regime imaginable™️
i doubt it, its most likely gonna be about an inquisitor or rogue trader as the main character, since those organizations might as well exist as a solid premise to start a 40k story on
go read Mortarion's lexi page
he has died like 8 times in the lore
all of them embarrassing
If you change or don’t make one minor thing perfect, you’re pissing off your fan page

his death was epic
Get shit on
he got bullied by the emperor himself, then he got bullied by uh
draigo
and thats not bullying, that was just murder
even the emperor was nicer to mortarion
morty doesnt deserve the death guard
they are too good for him
Most of the primarchs stories are them going “Dad can you help me solve this problem you could solve easily on my world I really care about?”
also terminus est is an absolutely dope looking plague ship
And him going “NO! Fuck you! CRUSADE! NOW!”
i like all the herald champions except lucius, I like lucius too but I hate how he does shit like stepping on landmines
Morty is “Hey dad can you help/let me kill the literal evil sorcerers that run my society”
Angron is “hey dad can you let me free my people from enslavement”
and his dad goes " mortarion you do know I am an evil sorcerer running society??"
Curze is “GIVE ME MORE CRIMINALS”
He went "Nah, just here for you"
More overt evil sorcerers
I thought he didnt want criminals, more like its just what he got
He became obsessed with punishing people for any transgression
Even ones they haven’t done yet
Cause he gets visions
Everyone was a criminal to him
Skinned someone alive for jaywalking
Actually like the Nighlords, prolly my fave traitor legion atm
Hes always been a piece of shit and a hypocrite yeah
oh @rocky gale https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/5jk5xmlb/lady-malys-stands-tall-over-the-new-codex-drukhari/
"Hello Shadowheart from BG3"
DAMN IT
i was ignoring that thought
yeah i was doing everything i can to like drown the thought
fuck it inquisitor wyll and interrogator gale
ah yes GW heard people like goth GF and decided to to do it for the love of the game
POEPLE THOGUHT THAT THIS WAS GONNA BE THE EDITION THEY GET A REFRESH
Did people think that ?
Given GW's release schedule I bet the Lady Malys sculpt was done even before BG3 released
yeah lmao
2019
If that's the case then the coincidences go crazy
no, people are hoping a Drukhari refresh for 11ed, these two characters were already known like a year ago
checks out
@rocky gale there was a guy who got this model early right
yes
i remember us talking about it
Yeah he got it early on some random ass box
I recall
whats teh last army left?
Na that was just copeheads
All the rumours and leaks were saying multi part archon, Lady Malys this edition and the refresh is early next edition but not the launch box
Literally all of this directly into my basket
Is it 3 new mini or 2 ?
2
Ty
Lady Malys and multipart archon that can be with or without boobs
All in line with the leaks
Are there still leaks for things that are meant to come this year ?
I’m not sure
New archon has swag at least
All I know is I won the bet, sure the reveal wasn’t at NOVA but I made it a double or nothing bet and said “reveal before the 15th” and my friend agreed because he said it wouldn’t happen until after November
Your friend betting against an dark eldar?
He should have known he would have lost
My foresight made victory certain, I just had my dates slightly wrong
Never gamble with a me when having to paint models is on the line
Now I see why the imperial hates xenos.
30% chance I start a drukhari army
This is for the upcoming necron dlc I'm guessing? Would only make sense to add more cogboys as well lol
No this is for dark heresy
Ok this looks GORGEOUS
God damn, it’s like GW finally learned how to make an excellent feminine sculpt (note the exact wording chosen)

Fr, my first thought when seeing the model was "Why is she pretty" lmfao
Wasn't expecting it
I still can’t get the fact she looks like Shart out of my head
@opaque coyote @storm jungle
bro got vored 😔
The leaks were spot on
oh yeah did everyone their emails to see if they won teh give away
Anyways have more valrak leaks
Warhammer 40,000 - Drukhari
- reiterates previous Drukhari refresh rumour for 11E.
Warhammer 40,000 - Kill Team
- rumour from TGA; Aeldari vs Chaos or Orks box.
I can hear the sound from that
Adorable scamp
@storm jungle flashbang
Wait is it Cavill being saved, or saving ?
Title is saved, but it feel like the paragraph is the other way
i assume yes but just to be sure but bonding studs can still be used on primaris mkx armor gravis and phobos aswell right
Yes, it’s in SM2 + there’s mentions of it in crusade books and such
qlso side note but would gravis be comparable in protection to mk3 or better or worse
Better
MK3 is less armored then gravis
But it allows for higher mobility
MK3 does have a whole host of other issues if not heavily modified compared to modern power armor
But that’s all pre MK4 power armor(excluding MK5)
So genuine question
Why is there just a lack of asian themed stuff in 40k
I guess the T'au has some?
Eldar somewhat
Because GW didn’t want to pull a WHFB incident part 2
And weren’t as comfortable with it
...
Eldar and Tau have the bulk of Asian influenced stuff
What is the incident
But basically GW is an european company and was mostly trying to get european customers
Being culturally insensitive ect.
40K was made at a time when that wasn’t as socially acceptable
||Pigmies||
Pygmies and the original araby lore
Are really bad
The Nippon lore is also pretty bad
But it’s not as bad
Ind and Cathay were fine
I thought of making like
A Samurai styled Chaos Cult
Khorne moment
Like the whole Bushido code fits Khorne very well
There’s East Asian/south Asian/central Asian styled stuff in 40K
It’s mostly SEA that’s lacking
one thing iv noticed is the hispanics did not survive into the 41st millennia or if they did its only like 3
They did
Crimson fists at leaat
The Spanish got evaporated
The way pedro is described makes him feel Spaniard

Like face wise
just like the ocean (tm)
Jokes aside, that's probably why the Rainbow Warriors are aztec styled in fanart
And yes GW called a space marine chapter master Pedro
even though they aren't
modelo marines
cause we lack south american inspired stuff
and knowing gw if they tried that shit in the 80's
it
Pygmies are in Lustria
💀
Also amazons
Anyways we do literally have a samurai space marine chapter
Emperors shadow or whatever
How did this get past development.
space mongolians and we name their leader 'the khan'
They’re Victoria lambs homebrew
Who got canonized
This is why you should be a GW employee
Do your homebrew becomes canon
They’re called emperors shadow
Whoops
get a job at GW
your homebrew gets canonized
quit immediately after

lol
Well there is the Obsidian Jaguars but they're pretty new no one cares about them
Jokes aside she was head of eavy metal up till like 6e
I could only find the fandom page, nothing in lexicanum
She’s a very good painter
Honestly
Wasn't that something that Ward said was a reason he joined BL ?
3rd top looks metal
The Emperor's Shadows are a Space Marine Chapter of unknown origin.[1]
The body is metal
I’m not sure about the face that might just be pure green stuff work
lol
But the tactical marines are the 3e plastic ones
i meant in terms of like looking cool but that works asw

weren't figures made out of lead
Anyways yeah go and make your any culture inspired 40K stuff
Pewter
Lead was phased out
Way earlier
There’s very few lead 40K minis
yippee
honestly I have thought about them being elite warriors of a Khornate PMC
Because Samurai were
mercenaries mainly
just under a lord
And they would consider Khorne as the
ultimate Daimiyo
so to speak
isnt this the whole plot of that one elden ring character
I think the ER character just got murdered and possessed
by the three fingers (tm)
so he didn't even worship them
he just got fucking sneak attacked
and possessed
remember there's only one good ending and it's frenzied flame
ngl the three fingers and frenzied flame is like
the coolest part about ER
Like you could argue that the Dark in Dark Souls is basically just like
continuing the natural order/cycles
and that it's better than stagnation
But the frenzied flame is like
"We just want to destroy everything"
"..why?"
"Because it's funny"
I know there is a story where
a guy wanted to save his maiden
so he gave himself up to madness to get the power to do so
but the maiden died anyways
and he basically lost even his sense of care
which is sad af
"wow fromsoft game is depressing"
revolutionary
still makes me feel sad
That's not the given reason
Their stated motivation is to undo the root of all discrimination, the destruction of all that divides, the ultimate revenge of the oppressed against their oppressor, by turning everything back into primordial soup so that all things and all people are simply part of the One Great again. Can't have racism and hatred and such in a world where nobody exists separately from one another. Which is anathema to the Golden Order, which maintains rigid division and hierarchy and stasis and order and so on.
It's part of an overarching theme in the game where Marika resists the blending of things, despite all things "yearning to converge" -- she resists the melding of the shamans in the jars with the flesh of others, she resists the blending of life by the powers of the Crucible and oppresses the Omen and the Misbegotten, and she tries to resist the merging of Radagon and herself, and instead shatters them both.
The Flame of Frenzy wishes to merge everything together.
Godrick turning to grafting of all things in his desperation to live up to the family expectations of the golden lineage is deeply ironic
I couldn't actually finish Elden Ring because none of the endings appealed to me
Same deal with Cyberpunk, they all just kinda sucked lmao
Me when the grimdark setting is grimdark
I think more its the fact none of them do anything
Like yeh in Elden Ring you can plunge the world into darkness, restore it to its former glory or change the world, buuuuuuuut they all remain a kinda shitty place to live
Well yeah, its not a hopeful setting, you kinda should know this going into it.
Cyberpunk is die, die horribly, die happily, or die+
No happy endings in night city
Nah
Also if you want to live aside from Johnny taking over your body you have 2 potential routes
Which I get, but I wasn't super invested in anything to do with Arasaka lmao
I mean
that isnt a bad thing
lmao
Arasaka sucks
their ending is literally named "The Devil"
Nomad route which is prolly Metacorp fixing you which also might mean you die anyways, Arasaka does just kill you but stores your mind, and The DLC ending
Anyways night city sucks

(this is all because Elden Ring is ultimately a game about alchemy, specifically the Ripley schools and the Great Work, the creation of a philosopher's stone)
The fact that the Nomad ending is the best also adds up with you leaving the city, aka basically winning at the game.
...
So because it is funny. Got i-
I know it's mainly a Nihilistic philosophy. Destroy everything and return back to the primordial soup.
But let's be fair here
No follower of the god actually cares about that
Metacorp could maybe fix V + the relic issue
Or V dies anyways
But less painfully
They either want power or to destroy shit because it is fjnny
Also surrounded by people that care about him/her
I mean
Better than not trying at all
Metacorp being a nomad nation is one of the funniest things ever
The fuck do you mean it’s a nomad nation, it’s called fucking Metacorp lol
literally the best you can ask with a condition that is literally cyber-cancer
Yeah
also like, the "they will fix V" headcannon works when you consider the other possibilities in the game
like how Arasaka says its irreversible
yet the government just can do it lol
Yeah they arent really a strong nomad nation
Well they just want to go for the easy route and keep you as an asset is why
lol
especially since Nomads are like an allegory for a ton of minority groups banding together
They’re a big one though lol
(and how government groups also hunt them)
There’s so many goddamn subfamilies
Wouldn't it be closer to cyber-Alzheimers? Since the core of the problem is how V's brain was damaged
No because you die
This is why you should be like Metacorp and fucking kill any Corpo who tries to kill you and become a “corporation”

lol
No
It’s rewriting V’s dna
And cells
Into Johnny’s
It’s literally cancer lol
Yeah especially since Nomads are an allegory for Native nations but with just almost every minority group involved, its a concept i really like
especially adds up with how thers thousands of them
Metacorp is such a weird nomad nation
They “integrated” with wider society to an extent
I mean Alzheimer's also kills you due to the progressive loss of brain function
Except they’re still literally just nomads, anything corporate is just a front

They do the same shit as every other nomad nation
It’s just become acceptable because they’re a “corporation”
O w c h

Human trafficking, arms smuggling and drug smuggling is only a crime if you’re not a corpo
Anyways the aldecaldos are fun fact really good at human trafficking
2077 doesn’t mention this anywhere
But that's definitely closer to V's condition since the entire reason why they're fucking dying is due to Johnny replacing them.
And then leaving, basically having their brain be permanently damaged to the point where they're probably gonna die
But that is one of their specialities lol
Why would you want to be trafficked voluntarily?
To get into places?
what do you think smuggling is
especially people lol
Its also a thing that exists IRL
you literally traffic humans
Both, but generally voluntary
Though people entirely now associate it with the angle where its complete slavery
Yeah I guessed so
They excel at getting people through borders
I mean then it wouldn't be human trafficking. It'd be smuggling. The definition of trafficking is generally receiving individuals for the purpose of exploitation
Its both.
But they do actual kidnappings for the right price
(It’s a lot higher)
And not all subfamilies do it
In terms of the legal definition it’s both
^
Human trafficking can be voluntary
I didnt know this until watching a Short
Strange
People just associate it with slavery
where it clears up it can be done in the smuggling way
Usually referred to as the opposite
yeah that
thats because its the sort of trafficking thats done the most
so its associated with that
That also
Whenever they mention like actually illegally transporting people, they refer to it as smuggling
Because of that association
Yes
Eh whatever
Vocabulary
^
the words just have been culturally distanced by people without really noticing
since again they have taken different meanings
Metacorp still existing in 2077 is the funniest fucking thing
Brain dented shenanigans aside. I think they do mention the legal type of trafficking for the aldercados in 2077.
Just not the illegal type
And the fact there’s an airport on their home nomad port now
Do they? I must have forgotten
I just remember gun running
But even then I think it's just in passing
So

@arctic talon Honestly a Nomad game on the Cyberpunk 2077 universe sounds sick
Night City is great (for anybody watching)
But some exploration of the outside would be nice
Yk?
I want a dlc where we visit other places of the cyberpunk world
Night City is generally considered to be like
The worst city in the USA right?
It’s not even in the NUSA
But it’s one of the worst on the continent of North America lol
Get rich or die, either way it'd be quick
You forgot get rich and die
lol
Yeah I know.
I guess I should've said like
"Worst city in the North American continent"
I forgot whether it's like
Merged with LA or somewhere else
Or if LA even exists in cyberpunk
I think it got destroyed?
Also LA exists
Y'know the most unrealistic part about Cyberpunk is that they somehow made a city that's worse than LA in California
Detroit was worse then LA in cyberpunk
Lol
Night city wins though
Night city number 1!!!!!
I think that's the same irl
Shouldn't Night City rent be cheaper though?
Considering how fucked the city is
Number 1 in homicide rates
Number 1 in education
Number 1 in amount of housed people
Number 1 in homelessness
Number 1 in terms of money
Or is it actually cheap for Cyberpunk
And cheap is just "barely affordable with minimum wage"
Night city is pretty cheap for most of it
Aside from the corporate areas
Those are $$$
And also the rich people areas
Which are also $$$
So the same problem as California
But a lot of areas are cheap as fuck
Basically, most areas are actually cheap
But the ones close to your actual job cost a fortune
It’s like if San Francisco had dirt cheap housing by the beach areas
And industrial zones
And commercial ones
Okay nvm
But anything remotely company wise
Was $$$$
Anyways the more likely you are to get murdered
The cheaper the housing in night city
lol
At least the beach in Night City looks alright
...
Minus the potential Arasaka mines
But we can't all win
That’s an issue everywhere
All it would be militech
Filled with trash but that's literally every popular beach
For around the USA
Water seems...
Clean enough to swim at least
Just gotta watch out for the mines
And stay near the shore
...
And also try and not get shot by a cyberpsycho
Why does Cyberpunk seem closer to irl each day

Only difference is that
A) no cool cybernetics
B) internet didn't die and then get replaced with a lamer version
Still believe that Night City shouldn't be the worst city.
Should've been somewhere in Texas

Probably got replaced by the phone inside of your fucking skull
I think my favorite detail was
V being confused by a landline phone
So Johnny had to like gesture how it works
It's a neat detail
...
Also weird that I'll probably have to do that one day
"No kid, this is how you use one"
I wonder if you get made fun of if you use a cellphone
Like
"Lol are you an old man?"
Similar to how people get made fun of for using a flipphone
Agents in cyberpunk red are cool smh
I can also imagine due to enshittification. You have to switch to the phone inside your head because the corpo software only works there
Way cooler then the head phone
Like a neat detail about the guns is that they all have their own unique rail system
So you can only use attachments from the corpo
Ignore the horrifying face
It's like Apple being the only MFS that use a specific type C
I enjoy the fancy smart phone
Better play games otherwise it's trash
...
Actually something that I wish we could've done was play games inside of our headphones thingy
Would've been entertaining to play like Tetris while you're talking to somebody

Brain rot irl
Real
Oh you do
How else do you hide your tracks smh
Just break your agent and toss it in a fire if you don’t want a trace
There’s pre paid ones after all
lol
Also something that I do wish would happen for a sequel to 2077 is to deeper into netrunning
And by that I mean actually going into cyberspace
lol
Lmao
They’re never going to let the player character be an actual net runner in a CRPG
Ever
But that would probably take way too much work
they wouldn't be allowed to do it justice
^
Net running only can get as complex as it does on the tabletop
Because the net runner doesn’t play the same fucking game
As everyone else lol
I always thought that you could transfer the fps gameplay just in a cyberspace type of thing.
And instead of guns you use quick hacks
You are playing your own game mechanically as a net runner to an extent
The way netrunning works in 2077 is already butchering the system lol
Tbf 2077's netrunning isn't
Netrunning
Yes
The characters even mention it
That’s my point
love casting kill yourself tho
Suicide is a funny quick hack
I once tried it on a maxtac
Watch him shoot himself and did like
2 damage
Literally so much chrome that a fucking revolver to the head did nothing

You are weak
Undisciplined
The fact other netrunner enemies can’t prevent hacks from going off is lame
Maybe a separate side game where you play as a netrunner?
They’d need to build a game from the ground up for it
Like netrunning is the whole game
And it would be cool
unemployed simulator
Real
Netrunners are literally the unemployed friend
For a cyberpunk red group
Do they make money in their off time? Probably not
Do they spend money? Absolutely
Do they spend most of the day sitting in a bathtub or chair? Yes
I mean they probably do. Netrunning would be lucrative.
I mean no
And also dangerous
Because a lot of the time you end up bouncing off
Because it’s hard to get into a data fortress
It’s always easier if you go physically to the location
To break into a data fortress lol
If you wana sit your ass at home it’s gona be harder
True
I can imagine some netrunners would do this though
"Is it a higher chance to get my brain fried? Yes. Am I getting out of this chair? Fuck no."

borderline cyberpsyhcotic murder hobos stay winning
I mean Corpos literally hire netrunners to act as security
So there's clearly a market in cyberspace
But it's probably worth it to get shot irl
Than shot in space
But IK it would be a niche that would have eddies
it is but only for the geniuses
Yeah so
NEET SIMULATOR GOGOGO

Jokes aside it would be interesting to play as a netrunner going past the black wall.
Rogue like. You fight AI
If you die, get a new netrunner

im p sure if you get past the wall you'd just die 100%
Definitely but it's not an immediate thing
