I think Noble 6 is still the best faceless protaganist
Year olds
light brown hair, white, greyish eyes
I think in reality cheif would have been scared up to fuck
He would have looked like a astartes I reckon
I think the best part was the micro expressions.
Noble 6 is awesome dude
Like you can tell when Noble 6 feels fucking sad
yes
I think Reach is the best game story wise
Totally an original opinion ik
But I don't really see many games emulate it
It's a game where you don't win
Halo 2 > Reach > Halo CE > Halo 3 in terms of bungo halos
Halo 2 was pretty damn good
in terms of my enjoyment of the story
halo 2 is the best one
then reach, CE, then 3
I think I accidentally ruined my enjoyment by
Playing it in legendary
3 is the worst to me because they didn't go all in on the stupid action movie vibe like CE
For me the story in 2 was 🫴
Don't play Halo 2 in legendary for your first time
but they tried to tell a serious story like 2
So peak
except no
Worst mistake of my life
they tried to mix it up
like 2 has action move vibe stuff
but it doesn't do it for serious moments
I have ptsd from the jackal snipers
Halo 2 also had the coolest moments
That and the Brutes
Halo 3 behind it
halo 2's game design was
obviously done for an interation of the game we never got
lol
Also severely unbalanced for difficulty
The bit I'm halo 3 where you team up w the hivemind to kill truth? THUS SHOWS HOW SCARY THE FLOOD IS
I seriously don't get why they didn't try it for anniversary
I did like the moment
not a remake
well
My God the flood are scary
it was a remake
but not really
lol
Halo 2 anniversery was meant to play like Halo 2
1 to 1
for the campaign
If they get a proper hivemind again the universe is cooked
the multiplayer has some differences
but its close enough
I like the AR in the sandbox
Shame the AR sucked in every fucking Bungie game aside from CE
ig it was passable in reach
Dumb ass forunners
but holy fuck it was bad in 3
It's all their fault
lol
Why keep these things in labs
Its so bad in 3 and its not great in reach
to try and find a cure
ignore the fact there is no cure
It's just the fact that I'm imagining the Grave mind being like

"Oh fuck oh god oh shit"
The cure is to cleanse all life so It can't eat
Problem being
One spore
One microscopic spore
Can end the universe
And there's heaps of spores floating around in hibernation
Even from the forst halo event
It doesn't kill iy
It just kills its food
Once it gets strong enough it can infect time and space
Honestly always thought instead of a cure.
They were trying to find a way to murder the flood that didn't require wiping out all the food source.
Cause even if you kill like the infection forms
The spores are still there
IT CAN LITERALLY USE THE WAY THE FORRUNERS TRABVELED WHICH IS TERRYFYING
Once it's advanced enough
I'm pretty sure on its 2nd or 3rd generation they start getting smary
Also the funniest part about the Grave mind speak is that
Producing new forms
According to the books
The reason why it speaks in poetry is because it's bored
Like
Oh the grave mind talks through something like a million corpses if I recall correctly
"Man regular language is boring. Better rhyme, that shit is gas"
Yeah
It only takes interst in us in 2 cause it's bored
It's like what is this parasite
Also the reason why the flood started is because some dumbass human fed Precursor Dust to their dog
Lmao the flood calling us the parasite 💀
I'm not joking
Same vibes as the genestealers in rogue trader calling you a heretic
The left overs of them
Tbf the flood is the corrupted remnants of the Precursors (beings before the forerunners)
It could genuinely see us as
Like
A parasite because of it
Because they were there first
this one's blinded by religion this one by rage
They got killed off due to the forerunners and humans
So awesome
Y'all I'm writing an essay for a class and I'm talking about my hobbies in one section, is this a good way to summarize what 40k is?
We don't know much about the Precursors
For all we know they could've been total assholes
Yeah that's a pretty decent summary.
Cool, ty
They would have most likely apposed the forunner civilization which is what caused this
Also the Precursors might have looked like crab people
Carcanization
You can't escape
Yeah and the flood forms have tentacles and claws
So in halo 3 when the Gravesend starts making pure flood
Originally humans were meant to be the forerunners back in Halo 1
Got retconned as soon as they realized that they were making more than one game
But yeah that's why guilty spark originally refered to chief as a forerunner
It got retconned to him being delusional
I love the story behind medicant bias the ai they made to interogate a precursor and it ended up infecting the ai and that caused the civilization to collapse
Idiots
I almost want a version of the Bungie story where they stuck to the idea that humans were the forerunners
Tbf it's implied to be some form of rampancy
Which is a consistent thing in Bungie lore
Was also a part of Marathon
It's called a data plague
The flood can infect EVERYTHING
Time and space isn't even safe
They left medicant talking to it for over 300 years
It started to get into the ais head
Honestly I think they should've gone with the Flood explanation for Cortana being unstable in Halo 4.
They talked for like 300 years and it slowly got it to pickup on its veiws but yeah
But ai can be broken
Like that's why she was going rampant
Look at thar reddit one we turned into a rascist pos
Oh so actually
Rampancy seems like it relates to stress in general
Her rampancy was from when she was stick in the hive mind
It tortured her
And probably infected her
In Marathon, Durandal went rampant because he was the equivalent of an AI that opened doors
The more active an ai is the quicker it goes rampant
And so he went insane
marvin the martian would have loved him
Seemingly yes
But yeah in halo 3 when we go to the hivemind
Is to open doors
We are trying to find cortana
they did know cortana was going to go rampant from day of manufacture
Yeah nah I would go rampant too
All of them do don't they
before they discovered the flood its just a thing AI does
They have a thing they do after 5 years or something
All AI go rampant eventually yes
regular memory wiping i think?
You have to constantly assess its directives
Honestly
They should've continued with Halo 5's plotline despite it being mid
And they grow attached
turns out if you make it a person people like them yeah lol
343 never committed lol
Yeah chief has a thing for Cortana
Yeah I think that's the worst part about Halo 5
You can
Fucking skip it
And it doesn't matter jackshit
Nothing mattered in Halo 5

It's not like a relationship but he's attached and will not let her go
It's fucking useless
Halo 4's ending had Chief look up to the Earth right before detonating a fucking nuke on himself.
He wanted to die with his best friend
to completely derail to another franchise this reminds me of the bit in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy where the krikkit robots try to interrogate Marvin the paranoid android in HHGTTG and accidentally make all their computers depressed
It's why I can't say Halo 4 is dogshit
At least not completely
Because the story, although flawed, is genuinely pretty decent
And did make me feel emotional
turns out marvin is VERY convincing about how bad the universe is if you let him talk, hes had 5 times the age of the universe to think about it
Infinite almost trys to trick you it's a good game
I mean
It is if you purely go by campaign.
They just mismanaged the multiplayer so badly that it's the equivalent of watching a car crash
It’s the best it’s been since reach imo
god douglas adams was a genius
"they injected me with too much truth serum and asked me to tell the whole truth. so i did. people cleared out pretty quick. im done now though, there's not nearly as much as people think"
There’s no prometheans in Infinite thank fuck
lol
Prometheans sucked ass in 4
Were barely tolerable in 5
Warden Eternal
And thankfully not in infinite
He is eternal alright
Eternally FUCKING APPEARING
It’s just spammed way too fucking much
god yeah fighting the fucking robots in 4 is what got me to stop playing the franchise
I'd prefer factions of covenant than promethians
They react in 5 at least
Yeah I think any fight would become boring if you repeat it like what
But still bleh
Splinter factions
6 times?
They have the same issue as flood
Yeah
thats when i went "ok now the campaign isnt fun so since i dont play halo mp i guess ill never buy another one"
The elites aye
flood you can at least mow down
People just didn't like fighting them
The common thing was people hated fighting them
the robots were fucking spongy iirc
halo 2 my beloved...
Yeah and they had certain spots you have to hit
Promethean knights were like flood pureforms
Or halo 2 combat forms
Takes 1 morbillion fucking years to kill
Can and will get back up if you don’t do something specific
lol
Honestly
If the Promethean weapons were as effective as gameplay.
No wonder the flood almost wiped out most of the forerunners before the halo ring activation

Crazy how bungie nailed the vex in destiny lol
i remember feeling like the promethians were a slog in the way i never felt the flood were
They’re “robots” but they feel
They react even less visually
Is why
That's the ones cotana did all that ai shit w hey
The flood in halo 3 were the best iteration
i think they also start earlier in the game?
Yeah
Your first promethean is mission 4? Or 5?
Halo 3’s flood combat forms were good to fight
you're doing the same like 4 promethians for 80% of the game lol
Shame pureforms were all the same fucking issues
the flood were usually like the back 40%
Pure forms and a actual hovemind that's at a point where shit it could just get reaalllly bad? He'll yeah
As halo CE and 2 Flood
Which is there’s no goddamn visual impact
And they take a trillion years to kill
Mostly
Bolt shot and binary rifle in halo 4 are terrorist weapons
lol
i wish destiny was playable in the literal sense
Oh man
Binary rifle one shot kills anywhere
i'
I used to get lost in the library as a kid
Boltshot is a fucking pocket shotgun
i'd probably consider d2 if most of the game wasnt vaulted forever
Shotgun no ammo no ammo in pistol
and im not gonna play destiny 3 when it inevitably happens because i know they're gonna vault a ton of shit
I was lucky and got to play halo as a kid on xbox
I can't tell you how muxh you missed out on if you weren't there back in the day honestly
Halo and gow had the world gripped
why are you saying we as if you represent microsoft
Xbox didn’t have monster hunter till gen 5 which is an L/hj
i'd buy nintendo stuff if they weren't terrible
a switch 2 costing more than my quest 3 headset
Nintendo is expensive as fuck because they know their audience will buy anything
lol
According to the terms and services yea, in reality good luck having that stand in court outside of Japan
Or they have this thing that after the discontinue it they want to collect them all back
they'd just brick your device
which they can legally do
because consumer rights dont exist
i hope you're being ironic
samsung would do the same
your first error is trusting any tech company
And sold it
True!
Anyways give me your data
So I can sell it for 3 cents to the NSA
I don't trust android but it's better than Apple
none are better
Well have you ever tried to get away from Apple
They literally make it as hard as they can
If you sign w apple your w them for life
you can just change phones
i guess if you really really care about your app store purchases
You can but if you want to keep your number 💀
the funny thing is carriers are the one gatekeeping that
they're the ones actually stopping you
It's all the t and c that actually gets you , it's the apple pay and everything involved around that
back in the day my iphone 6 was locked to at&t or something
since it was refurbished
Ah yeah I hate having a locked phone
i'm not even american and i cant even use at&t
It used to be apple and AT&T had an exclusive deal
apple couldn't do anything
In the US
They also never explain what there fees are for
Just 15$ apple pay or whatever
You could literally be paying for nothing
You would never know
android cant because android isnt an organization lol
if you want to be real secure get one of those encrypted phones that drug dealers use
google maintains the android source kernel which gets forked by phone manufacturers
You could be funding boko harem for all you know
but nobody really cares that their data is being harvested
google doesnt get data from android by default (samsung, eg, does)
So even tho iPhone has great security it doesn't really matter
they get whats been agreed for sharing
apple security would matter if countries didn't force it to have backdoors
yet another reason to bring out the guillotine
shitty third world countries like the UK forcing open any private messages between me and my fuck friends
Don't forget the USA.
Also
The Space Marine trying to stop the Necron Gauss Rifle Beam flying right towards him after praying to the emperor
Fun fact, the Haber process was originally made to produce more explosives to murder people.
Who the fuck starts a conversation like that
But instead it was used for Fertilizer.
This is a lore channel bro
this is important lore (tm)
But yeah inventors having their inventions used for like
their opposite intended purpose is common
Like..dynamite?
Based individuals with hyperactive neurons
Dynamite is a cool word
Old mfs were bugging when naming dangerous shit
Rubella
Sounds like a girls name
LAME
Scarlet Fever, underwhelming
Now
Like brucellosis , who tf wants to say that
BUBONIC PLAGUE
Based
That sounds ominous
Also black death
I guess I like gangrene too, diabetes is lame, sounds like the name of what dionysus became after all the hard partying
💀
Real shit
Stage 2 diabeetus
Diabeetus The Vilurent - Daemon Prince of Nurgle
welcome to lore chat
i should make a folder of these
i guess? dynamite was made to make mining safer
whole reason they named the peace prize after it's inventor iirc
Pretty sure he made the prize himself from the money he made from Dynamite because he felt guilty that it was so destructive
maybe
the fact remains his invention did save lives
ofc it didnt take long for it to be used to take them
Yea he donated his entire fortune to establish the Nobel prizes to reward those who "Confer the greatest benefit to humankind"
makes sense
does mk5 still see use for any loyalist outside of one off named characters
I thought it was because he read a paper that falsely announced his death and people were celebrating it.
I think that's just a popular myth
Oh apparently it's debated and no historians have been able to confirm it or disprove it
But yea the story goes that after his brother died a French paper mistakenly thought he'd died and wrote an article calling him the merchant of death
Yea on a few chapters especially but less now that most have adopted the primaris line
that's straight up a myth
there's no actual proof it's true
anyways here is my ted talk about why the nobel prize is horse shit
case in point: the nobel peace prize
i dont even need to elaborate on that one
From Wikipedia:
"Awared to those who hage done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."
It was his friend who apparently pushed to include 'peace' as a category, the guilty thing is something they assumed
I think its a fair assumption to make tbh
Also wasnt the nobel prize's inventor the guy who made dynamite lol
cordite
yeah same thing
cordite was used in a lot of things including dynamite
and people think he somehow had a consciousness after making bombs
also like
people are fucking stupid
dynamite isn't used in war
it's an explosive used for mining, rock clearing, demolition
hey it's good enough for rock it's good enough for someone with flesh and bone
wait wait no
im tired
nobel invented dynamite
and ballistite
which that one is used in cordite
and that one is used in war
but like dynamite was extremely useful in history
we wouldn't even have rail in north america without it
WE DONT KNOW
just because you heard it doesnt mean it's true
like christ i made a school report about it in highschool and i believed the myth too
historians straight up say it's a myth
If it's an explosion it's been used in war
it's not the correct type of explosion
Weather it's for destroying people or property
if it's used in war it was probably for demolition
but like that's not killing anybosy
and the popular myth is he was super sad from dynamite killing people
I mean derailing a train kills people jay
are we talking about wild west bandits now
tf kind of shit is that
You know trains had been used in war since they existed right?
Logistics are incredibly important
derailing a train
as in blowing it up before anybody notices
and before the train can stop in time
who does that
who derails a train
People with sense
you somehow managed to get to a logistics line without anybody noticing you
so we're either talking partisans or special forces
I mean paratroopers existed in ww2
And that's basically what they did in prep for dday
i guess in that one situation where jean luc in the french resistance blows up a train track then dynamite has killed somebody
anyways do you know how outdated the nobel science prize is
it still works in 1800's logic where you can award singular people for advancing science
not teams of people
and the prize takes so much time to decide on who gets it that you might genuinely die before qualifying
but the prize cannot be given posthumously
so if you didn't get it in time for creating the cure for cancer then even your family wont receive it
How high are baseline humans in the food chain of 40k universe?
with equipment or no equipment
Both cases
Well they can get pretty high is the answer
There is also a level of it depends because of how warhammer works unfortunately
In a lot of media, unless you're Astrates, you're not very high into the food chain. So I was wondering.
yeah but a human can kill them though of course quite on the low end there have been cases of humans smoking the crap out of a marine
They may not win them over in physicality but humans fight dirty you see
in plaugue wars a bunch of gaurdsman gang up on a death guard and bring him down, they had to dig one of there number out from underneath his fedid corpse
Random fact I know. Apparently it takes a gap of 8ft to derail a train
So like, the tracks stop, its open air for 7ft and the train lands right back on the tracks without missing a beat
So as I've been told. The orks are the good guys of 40k
they are not
Why :(
They kill. That good no?
But if I did have a choice on what side to be on
Prolly the orks
Its funnn
I could be a ork warboss
they are racist warmongering monsters
Like that is as bad as it gets
They actively make someone watch as they eat their family in front of them
to them the concept of peace is nothing is a joke
There is no good guy, there is no Tooth Fairy, and there is no Queen of England
Hey now that's fucked up to say now hey ya can't just say the tooth fairy ain't real
I agree, the orks are indeed the good guys of 40k
Keep sayin that and ya may get nuthin but coal in your socks this Christmas. It's only months from now.
they are also probably the happiest race
^
since all they wanna do is fight
and this is why warhammer has a lot of misinformation
If the tooth fairy isn't real. Wheres all this cash coming from?
we need an ork utopia
The good guy thing is just a joke but I do agree they're the one race who actually has fun
That's like one of the most unoriginal ork jokes by the way
That joke has been repeated so many Times Now
you get sick of it
we need like a fort knox for teef
Like they're fucking flying in the sky on motorcycles that's fucking amazing
Rip
i wonder if they pull out like eldar teef and decide its worth more than ork teef
probably not, i imagine eldar teef are too small
it's not
They only use ork teef between each other
The Ork economy is blooming
its their economy ironically lol
its magnificent yeah
you using a non-ork teeth is like trying to spend a Yen in america
lol
"Not the same currency dipshit, get out of my store."
I see
As they slaughter every world they come across
basically giant sharp teeth
I literally had a page made with my friend on the lexi showing how orks actively use human slaves, people just do not get the hint lol
(it also had like 6 sources)

also the fact that squigs can be repurposed to do a bunch of shit is funny af
Are bigger ork teeth worth more
yes
Yey
They basically value big sharp ivory teeth
Everyone evil in this universe. it comes down to your choice of drip in the end.
So I'm guessing when a ork warboss dies, orks vulture all over his dentals yeah?
(I got like 7 Space Marine OCs 💀 )
Tell. Now.
Prob later, they kill each other first
Show.
there is literally a squig that is the equivalent of us breeding a chicken that lays eggs that have money inside of it
Yeah
Read the lexicanum.
arent there like squigs that have the giant squig bodies and have tiny wings and flap around like squig bats
Your ocs are in the lexi????
Squigeons
yeah those
personally,my favorite bit is about using exploding squigs as artillery ammo
Do the slaves just collect scrap metal
They do any labor work
back breaking labor and entertainment
^
ork society is basically perfected
Yeah it sounds real nice. Anyway
@storm jungle ya mind telling a bit about one of ur oc legions?
no lets linger on the blissful dream of the green paradise
I'm curious :3
its not OC legions, its just single marine characters
It's not it's literally a society made for one function
war
Awesome!!!!
it's a literal society that is just built to be the perfect one for war
yeah thats perfect, orks are all down for it
an armor piercing round is gonna bounce off of your skull i just know it
well
Wanna find out
I had a diet coke, il be fine
Tungsten skull
Heres 2, my BT and also Raptor
Oh my god Eli
ayyyy he has a two handed chainsword
What

It's a joke i call every black templar Eli
I love the helmet for Malchius
the machinations of my mind is not worth the explanation
🫡
hes got a laurel thing
Is..is that a double edged chain sword
yeah why that's normal
do they actually inscribe the laurels of victory on the helmet or do they manufacture a bunch of helmets with the laurels on em and keep em in storage
and then get a servitor to grab it whenever a space marine gets 50% accuracy on a mission
" He is deserving!"
Depends on the model and cool-factor
in Malchius' case hes a experienced Sword Brethren so its kinda why I threw some to his helmet
(also why he has a missing leg and arm)
understandable
how do the black templars recruit again, do they just pick up folks as they go along
il check
Pretty much yeah.
Sometimes they set up small temples on a few worlds for recruits as well
Randomass thing.
I want to write up a Vat Born human race bred specifically to engage in war. As in battle is in their very nature. And if they go too long without battle. They'll become very bored and depressed.
I have no name for them, yet. But after the death of their creator and leader. They were left alone with a wholly conquered planet. So they agreed to divide themselves into various factions to go to war with eachother. To determine whos the strongest.
And at some point they'll decide to wage war on other planets
Their ultimate goal is to find an opponent strong enough to destroy them entirely.
Yes this was inspired by The Death Korps of Krieg.
Haven't read that book yet, unfortunately.
What do you guys think?
I need to work on it...
i dunno, sounds good
Yey
well
Feel compelled to though...I need to give that more thought
send them to catachan or armageddon
BT looks cool af
I don't intend them place them in the 40k setting. Though I think they'd make good friends with the orks
well theyd just fight the orks
🙏
the orks are definitely gonna fight em
they would not
they would find them as kindred fighters and good things to fight and kill but that's it
i wonder if khorne ever decided to show up in 40k , would he wear power armor or a suit
That's what I meant lol
as opposed to being barechested
Like if he manifested?
Without armour
more skulls
Like his deamons
if he was described in his brass citadel, hypothetically
oh yeah I guess bloodthirsters are dressed the same in 40k as fantasy
though it is very rare and i mean very rare orks can fall to chaos
Khorne stormboyz arethe most well known
and aos for that matter, they just have different tweaks but they mostly dress the same right
greater daemons that is
like the bloodthirsters are just barechested or wearing brass armor
and they dont use any ranged weapons even in 40k
apart from being living flamethrowers I guess
Doesn't he have a little section of The Brass Whatever dimension where his own band of orks are constantly fighting his daemons for sport
yeah
Or is this YouTube meme lore
no its a thing
he keeps reincarnating that one band of orks in his dimension and they keep fighting endlessly with his daemons
theres even a named ork guy leading em i forgot his name
iirc
he also did it because he liked em or thought they were worthy or whatever iirc
Has he ever given any other group this treatment?
i dunno
Seems like very focused, very special treatment especially for non-followers
well
the chaos gods do whatever they please whenever they want, mostly
khorne was probably cleaning his toenails or something one day and noticed a band of orks he liked
theres pobably a story about it
tzeentch corruption is the best though
since its kinda indirect and particularly insidious and the victim usually ends up doing something incredibly fucked up in an ironic and funny way
as opposed to khorne corruption where you gradually become an abusive alcoholic without the alcohol to full blown murder mania man
😩
Are they resistant to chaos or chaos just doesn't care for them?
Orks are particularly resistant to chaos IIRC
the decision to attach khornate corruption to farsight is one of the best tau things ever
they should grow a pair and make grimnars axe corrupt him too, but they arent gonna do that
everytime I see that axe all I can see is a thought bubble over grimnars head going like " there's an organization called the inquisiton ???"
also speaking of inquisition, I know theres isnt really a clear heirarchy per se, but is there like an inquisitor thats considered like, one of the top most powerful inquisitors ever
Chaos hates the orks on principle
oh its the imperial inquisition, right on cue
because usually Orks have nothing to offer chaos
and Chaos has litte to offer orks
Who needs khorne when I have Gork (Or is it mork)
Orks dont give a squigs ass about knowledge, they know everything they have to
so tzeench is right out
Orks dont need any sensation other than choppin and shooting things
so they dont care for slaneesh
ah yes, a tzeentchian ork, that practically sounds like an entire chaos god by itself
and they're fairly resistant to disease
They genuinely do not care about chaos that's the thing, their own psychic nature also
Yeah the gestalt protects them as well
Helps shield them
The only way they get corrupted by chaos if they willingly give themselves in but why would they
they orks
they think they are the best
Even Tuska Daemon Killa, isnt even chaos aligned
he's basically just trapped in a time loop he doesnt want out of
oh yeah thats khorne realm guy
why would he
infinite foes
and he gets to krump em forever
and come back after getting krumped
The only thing those gribbly Wotzits are good for is getting krumped in interestin’ ways
after hearing people try to justify everyone in 40K who have literal streaks of being bad guys
Yeah I can get why
Holeyyyyy shiiiiitt
Wallet obliteration spell
Reading a tiny excerpt of voidstalker
Palatine Haunts
yeah psychic police
I'll determine whether The Nightlords are good guys or bad guys
definitely servants of peace
That's like asking if Hitler was a good guy or a bad guy
also the villains of the scream franchise
Deathrattle, Gitmob, Sisters and Palanite in the same Preorder window, they want my wallet so bad
I'm getting the story from both sides
well
my store is also having their anniversary event
theres the Ordo Originatus- who try to uncover the history of the inquisition
then theres the Ordo Redactus - who try to keep the history of the inqusition classified.
there is no good and bad, you just pick whichever you find more entertaining
There is good and bad. Good is stuff I like and bad is stuff I don't like
oh i love the nightlords then
Yeah so obviously they're the good guys
levels of stupidity that make the galaxy go round
who doesnt wanna be a giant hiding in a rosebush waiting to jump the nearest batch of schoolkids and flay them
Name one bad thing they've done I will wait

Me with the objectively correct position in an argument....
i dont hate kurze though
kurze is a source of a lot of humour
especially when he tries to torture and mess with vulkan and vulkan just beats him up lol
i give up with these two i've seen smarter snotlings
tbh, i cant decide if I like karamazov or not
I enjoy his consistency, but at the same time...its karamazov
i think id like him a lot more if he actually walked to places instead of moving around on an actual throne
Out of all of the follies of being corrupted by chaos, Tzeentch is my favorite even if he's not a very interesting chaos god to me overall
Slaanesh follower folly is probably my second favorite WHEN DONE WELL
And not just le nobles have sex
tzeentch is great, I love nurgle the most though, the flower and garden metaphor with the accompanying visual variety and grotesqueness is a feast for the eyes compared to brass/blood/skulls and purple and black bdsm equipment everywhere
It's a close tie between Nurgle and Slaanesh for second favorite, Nurgle is better when the latter isn't done perfectly
also I really like all of the chaos champion marine captain herald guy thing lords, except lucius
I'm talking more narratively speaking but in terms of how it looks and the aesthetic? Yeah Nurgle by far
narratively for me its tzeentch, and yeah slaanesh is great
Who the fuck is Norm
especially with stuff like greed and cacaphonies instead of just sex
And why is his emissary a giant bug
Norm Mcdonald?
norn queen?
norn emissary?
The Chronicles of Norn-ia?
The third one
Larger than even a Hive Tyrant, Emissaries combine brute strength with incredible psychic power. They were evolved for the singular purpose of preying on gifted enemy commanders or abducting knowledgeable prey from heavily defended strongholds. In order for this to occur, a Norn Queen imbues Emissaries with the distilled knowledge they need to successfully complete their mission, before a battle begins[2]. Once unleashed, they stalk their targets with eerie alien grace, something a creature their size should not possess, and Emissaries are also able to compress their mass into seemingly impossible confines if they need to. When the Norn Emissaries near their target, however, they move with serpentine speed and are able to leap a great distance into the air and fall upon their prey with their sword-like talons. The Emissaries can use these weapons with blistering speed and also have such immense physical strength that they are capable of easily tearing an Adeptus Custodes apart. This allows them to stomp a Custodes to death, use their legs to kick ones head off or use their tails to snap a Custodes' neck
Norn Emissary
^
I'm specifically asking
Why the fuck are they called that
Who is Norn
Why is his emissary a giant bug
I didn't know Tryanids had queens
yep, she stays in the hive ship
they are literally responsible for making the creatures
like the capital one
Ok but like
Why 'emissary'
They don't do diplomancy, it just murders you extra hard
that is tyranid diplomacy
and also I guess to signify the norm emissary as an elite agent type terror
it's a representation of the norn queens perfection
obviously that's why it's called an emissary
Acting as the expressed will of a Norn Queen upon a battlefield, they act as assassins after being supplied with their prey's psionic spoor
a Norn Queen imbues Emissaries with the distilled knowledge they need to successfully complete their mission
so yeah, they are an expression of the queens will
Like all Tyranids share a univseral hivemind?
yeah but each hive fleet have separate enough thinking to handle the job how they see fit not everything is micro managed by the hive mind
A high fleet can choose to deploy armored creatures first or if they want swarm the position or something
also emissary is probably sent out to do an important job
i doubt the norn queen thinks a termagaunt can do whatever she wants the emissary to accomplish
Hm

these things can humble an adeptus custodes
These are deployed when they absolutely want someone gone
I've always kinda operated on the idea that the Tyranid hivemind is like, a collective consciousness rather than a single directed one. Like there isn't a 'brain bug' for them
its possible and likely there is no physical manifestation of it and the hivemind exists purely on a collective level as a consciousness among the nids
Hive Tyrants or Swarm Lords have never felt like 'leaders' to me, they're just enforcers.
every tyrannid is part of the hive mind but some creatures are afforded more degree of being able to more autonomous
but it does delegate to some extent it appears and doesnt micro coordinate all the multiple hive fleets at once
hive tyrants and swarm lord are literally the example of more autonomous
bugs
yes, also the consciousness isnt like, everpresent constantly consistently, they do have synapse bugs
Some were just as dumb as animals yeah but some are afforded a degree of freedom in thinking like for example Deathleaper which is a lictor
so there is some level of neural connection through which the will of the hive mind is passed through
which can be disrupted or boosted accordingly
so they do have some level of autonomy
Don't get it twisted the hive mind has to grip on them they are just allowed to think less robotically
think more like a creative person basically
That's what makes the swarm Lord so dangerous
he's just getting treated like the avatar of khaine
hence, a beat up wreck
yeah and so after his rework he's just gonna get treated the same

yeah but hel look cooler
There's literally no point there
maybe a few years down the line his model still holds up
fair enough
also this emil darkhammer guy seems like a real nice dude
i bet the imperiums proud of him
Is it bad I want to read the Night Lords Omnibus
no
I think they might be me
why would you think its bad
I'm just edgy idk
I read just a few paragraphs depicting how psychotic they are in their pillaging and I'm like
also sevitar is actually a pretty decent character
he is highly autistic yes, but he is entertaining
I'm so normal about this
its normal
I'm not buying it physically though. It ain't gonna work
I need to buy an E-Ink tablet sometime
She lied as naturally as she breathed
just get some of the chapters permanently tattooed to your arm and read when convenient
I'd read that Norn Emissaries were Custodes' tier, but honestly reading the fight between the Emissary, the Custodes and Captain General I can't help but think they're a little gassed up. Like yeh its murdering them in like, 1 fucking hit or something, but they're literally throwing themselves at it to slow it down. Bodyguards jumping in front of the bullet situation
"Yeah so we're killing everyone, recording it. And streaming it next city over so they know we're coming and what's gonna happen to them."
And I'm like
Wow
Plus like, how the fuck is a broken neck killing a Custodes? Or being ripped in half?
Um
yeah the nightlords love terror through propoganda
This is bad. This is wrong and so immoral. Yeah its so bad and all that yeah uh. Yeah they're bad people I agree

thats why they dress like buffoons scary edgeguys, so their visage can scare people
The dude who got his head kicked into orbit I understand, you need the brain lmao, but like, surely 3 out of the 4 dudes who got Norn'd can be saved without needing Dreadnoughts?
thats what they wanna accomplish , induce fear and terror into a whole planet
or system
like they can just take a city, but they will instead torture like 5 dudes and hang them up in public all mutilated so the city can get scared first
Awesome
But I like that they crucify someone on a wall to indicate the building has been emptied
To fucking scare people and to tell their own patrols that its empty
their primarch is an interesting character though
Double purpose! Yes!
unlike a bunch of the other ones, he has an actual conflict in him thats shaping his decisions very dramatically
Huh.
hes also just a violent bloodthirsty killer
I'll give it a read probably
and super emo
but hey, he got sent to a crime ridden planet where he became batman and ruled through fear
and murder
no clue, but I am Hoping its transylvanian
and yes ik the blood angels are the resident vampires
yeah they got the bat ear flap things
iirc they are also supposed to be pale skinned
on account of not being sunlight loving folk and from a planet thats shrouded in eternal night
and originally being recruited from terran prisons, also not known for their sunlit gardens
Chatgpt has spoken.
you gonna trust a wireback's word?

Chatgpt is never wrong
that is some drip
That was the wrong message to quote lmao
Wonderin' about this
I mean, its just like breaking the neck of a normal person
But its a Custodes
fuuuucking iunno
They could have augmented muscle and bone but a broke neck is a broke neck
Surely their brain can survive without blood for a minute, or saved via dreadnoughts
Like I don't buy a Custodes dying because he got ripped in half
Guardsmen have survied that
I dont think you're gonna see a Custodes get stitched together like how orks get stitched together
But I mean, Im not a BL writer
I mean again, not even bringing them back to 'normal', just shove 'em in a Dreadnought
hmm yes who needs brain function anyway
Imperials dont even think anyway lmao
Space Marines can literally breath in space
Like a lack of air is not an issue for them
They can?
Ok so that was an over exaggeration by the source, they can theoretically survive in space by going into hibernation
the emperor personly puts fiber opitc high stress cables for nerves and spinal cord into all custodes
Yeah that makes more sense, even in a space fantasy setting lmao
you snap their neck the spine the nervous system central
But again
you expect them to survive that?
primarchs tho can just bullshit their way through space
Surely a custodes brain can survive without fresh blood, which is already hyper oxygenationed from being a fucking 12ft tall demi-God, for a couple minutes
their is no again this like you cut the tendons meat dont move you cut the spinal cord body dont move
Spinal cord being cut sure, it makes the custodes go limp
But he ain't dead
That is the difference I'm arguing here
Honestly I almost feel like they would require even more air than a normal human being due to their brain capacity and size, so them being cut off of air and nervous system functions would mean the head would expire quicker
Space Marines have survived worse without being put in Dreadnoughts
The body is living, but unable to move at all... so what is it different from a real kill?
i have the idea that maybe just maybe any situation that a custodes might find themselves in where they get their neck snapped them being limp for even half a second would he insta killed by whatever it is doing it to them
Custodes also have dreadnough...
they are just basically superhumans though
sure they are like physically speaking better than a marine but biologically speaking they are just humans plus through a lot of the augmentations
Or GW writing, where nothing is consistent and anything that happens is only because the plot demands it happens
Also, marines often die with way less damage.
