It's the usual scaling issues I see with GW
I don't mind the realms, just give me maps of each realm where almost every single thing mentioned is located
A continent is plenty of room.
Its really not
So I don’t see it that way personally
Yeah
there was literally no room left
AOS is literally just 8 continents lol
You literally could not do anything
theres no multiverse
That's just standard for Europe

I sentence you to making a homebrew empire village
(Good luck finding land)
Just slam it somewhere in drakwald with everything else
LOL
Fucking drakwald has entire kingdoms of beastmen and other mutants living in there
Just gotta do some pest control, no different than usual
Oh speaking of maps, someone told me Terra doesn't have like giant wastelands left anywhere, it's basically a giant city
Like uh
Coruscant I guess?
Yeah
Yeah, Terra is basically just a single hive city
The entire planet? Damn
You know how the Skaven live?
There's no big water bodies either right
Imagine that but somehow less hygienic
So, omegon is hiding out on Terra pretty much
Nah some African lady stole it all

I do not know how
But she did and the Emperor killed her for it. All the other stuff was fine.
Also the emperors palace is continent sized which the custodes work in, but they don't generally police the whole city?
oh man okay so
Custodies manage massive personal information networks
They don’t need to do everything in person
Imagine a really big mansion in the middle of a city, scale it up to a continent sized mansion in the middle of a planet sized city
Basically first of all this is how big the "palace" is over the properly accurate map of Nepal (as with the actual map given in the rulebooks)
Secondly, its less of a palace and more what Dylan said above
like its so huge that it hasChapels, Canyons, Dead Gardens, Parks, Manufactoria, Hyrdogalvanic Plant, Subterranean Prisons, Highways, Mansions, etc
and entire forgotten wings of stuff
Yeah ik it's continent sized like it includes that pilgrim city where people die of old age waiting in line to meet the emprah
the custodians tend to patrol mostly the actual inner palace and its outskirts
Well, die of other stuff before old age
yeah its basically not a single building
The city sized palace inside the continent sized mansion
It's GW, just scale everything to infinity. Fuck the square cube law
The rest of Terra must be so messed up
its an absolute hellhole lol
Millions die of thirst Everytime there's a slight delay on the water shipments
^
Was
Okay that I wasn't expecting
Oh did they finally fix that?
Ok so scratch the Dark Eldar
Probably there's a web way gate, I mean apart from the one in the palace
Good job everyone
Jury's still out on if it's a necron tombworld I guess
Also , are the genestealer cults like, signalling the fleet
We dont really know
Hard to say if the signal is actually reaching the hive mind
I bet the hive probably decided it's not worth going to Terra yet, kinda costly endeavour
You don’t exactly need to signal the hive fleets to Terra
The custodes are all over that particular problem
It’s only the brightest warp object in the galaxy
Kinda
they cant really do much
Well, as much as they can be
The episode with the female custodes shows how they deal with that sort of thing
yeah which is pretty much what the Shadowthrone thing was
that created a lot of useless rage back a few years ago lol
"The custodians can easily floor GSC lol lmao"
yeah but they got like, you know
billions of people
also uh, you kill the patriarch gg
another one will arrive by cargo next week

Trillions of people I would say
Yeah true
No amount of superior training will stop an IED from turning you into paint
Like the sheer scale makes actually keeping the palace itself secure almost impossible. The rest of Terra is more or less a question if they can mitigate the damage
Or the wrath of the innocent populace if you spit on a kelermorph poster
found the artwork
A LITERAL
TIDE

Are sisters of silence useful against Tyrannids?
A ||dark||tide
Oh shit is that custodian dual wielding power swords, that's cool
Somewhat yeah
Dude on the right just missing his entire left arm
They probably work on zoanthropes and stuff
Blade Champions are Adeptus Custodes who seek out enemy leaders to behead with their giant two-handed Vaultswords.[1]
this unit was made up for this boxset
its pretty neat
tho they are huge weebs
take a read

Granted, Custodes can probably take that particular tide but there's like twenty others in other places
Yeah thats what the lore in the boxset shows well
For a bunch of super bugs tyranids have surprising amount of warp related units
they kill like thousands of cultists
vault swords huh
but they still take damage and some of them legit die
its like the Tide game effect
you can kill thousands but all it takes is a few lucky hits
They adapt as they consume/make new stuff
Every dead custodes represents a loss that cannot be recovered while the cultists can easily be replaced
its why the 4th Tyrannic War the new one has a ton of new psychic nid units
Yeah there's a bunch
Pretty much, its why you gotta use your brains as the custards
i think neurothrops only started showing up after they ate a craftworld or something
nah just eldar
Also the norn twins looks more imposing than the poor old hive tyrant
In a bipedal kind of way
they can kick and decapitate custodes so that checks out
20,000 dead cultists for one dead custodian is a win for the cultists

Just realized their collars are big enough you could probably shove a grenade there and they just couldn’t reach it
Granted Custodes have their own human units, which are pretty cool but I almost never see mentioned
tabletop reasons mostly
Mephiston is barely a space marine
hes basically a walking mary sue yeah
He can fly around with red energy wings
he can also stop time
and make peoples hearts explode during it
his powers are such fucking nonsense lol
Average Blood Angel OC
On top of that , he knows he's ludicrously strong, so he behaves like a smarmy vampire overlord
they should make him explode due to pyskic mishap
He's soooo cool guys he's all angry and dark but also he has blood wings
Oh no see
he also overcame the Black Rage guys
hes THAT cool

||fuck off lol||
Mephiston should lose to to cains sidekick by total accident
Oh shit I forgot that he actually did overcome the black rage
YEP.
Twice iirc
Armageddon brings out the best in people
Well I don't go there and even if I did I actively ignore blood angels lore so
I think their lore is cool
I just hate dumbasses like Mephiston
I legit entirely ignore him lol
Dante is cool tbh
Yeah that too
For me it's like Uriel ventris vs the Ultramarines
its why I really like Ventris' book
the uhh first one
he starts off as an arrogant asshole, gets sent on a penitent mission, goes through the daemonculaba
then hes fucking ruined/traumatized and humbled at the end of it
I really, really don't like the Ultramarines but I thought Ventris was pretty chill
its a great journey lol
Ultras are the posterboys
they are just here to do their job
smile and wave etc
You know, eventually
All I do is think about leandros
I swear to God if I hear one more story about how Cato sicarius defeated a bloodthirster I'm going to eat my hat
I assume he solo'd a bloodthirster, I don't actually know
Sounds like something that would come up on his list of accomplishments
Bleh archaon strangled one to death with it's own whip, bloodthirsters are so last decade

I love archaon's lore post-WHF
Yes
Where he travels through space and time AND DESTROYS ENTIRE UNIVERSES AND GODS
💀
HOMIE, CHILL
My face when the chaos melee specialists lose to the generalists in melee
Man just really hated Sigmar
Fair
Imagine getting so pissed that you pray to sigmar, he doesn't respond and you become that
It was bound to happen at some point
Well
Archaon's backstory is pretty fucked up in general
especially since hes born from SA 💀
Also, I sort of went on a tangent but I was trying to say that I actually like Death companies
nah Death Companies are great yeah
My favorite bit in his fantasy lore is just the part about the altar of darkness, I liked how they described it as just literal pitch black vault with corridos filled with crazy dark elves and shades and archaon went through it fighting them alone
That's because blangels are almost the best company
Maybe not dark angels cool, but almost the best
Don't even @ me
The whole noble heroes grappling with their debilitating blood rage is also why I like 30k World Eaters
@ Death.
excuse me
Same vibes
its Altar of Ultimate Darkness
Indeed

sorry just need to remind you we are in edgelord 2000's
Guys I have a secret to share
It absolutely fucks on the Alter of Lesser Darkness
I don't like man mannfredd
You are omegon?
I think he's dumb
Yeah, that's the stupid altar of Darkness
Also the final speech vlad gives Manfredd is amazing
He always sucked
It's not even worth Mentioning the Altar of Middling Darkness
It truly cements Vlad as the gigachad and Manfred as the scrub
if you think that does
you should see how he turned his lover Isabella into a vampire
He literally
Aka, naggarond
arrives randomly to the castle
goes upstairs
tells her dying father hes bethroing her
father who was a dickhead dies
Isabelle INSTANTLY jumps to his arms

its peak
Yeah it's vlad, don't forget before Isabella he was literally married to nefarata
Vlad makes up for his fucked up face by being the ultimate sigma male
Real.
Honestly I would have stayed with Nefatata but I guess Isabella is good too
Well this is around when she started getting psychotic, he freed himself from nagash then decided everyone around the desert is fucked and went to kislev
Quitter
Yeah it needed vlad to get a makeover, so they had him go to kislev where he become...Slavic I guess
I never would have predicted that those two things are connected but WHF made it happen
Whatever I guess I'm Romanian now
-Vlad
Also, remember, vlad was going to successfully take altdorf if it wasn't for for manfredd
Manfredd really out here being the best player on the enemy team
That's his thing
He's obnoxiously powerful, and a slimeball
Vlad is just even stronger, but he's just a winner
Also abhorash is the real quitter
Vampire Counts lore is legit hilarious, they have sieged Altdorf like
10 times in the lore, and almost won 4 times
which ngl is very realistic
most important historical stuff is always people sieging the fucking same cities constantly

True
It's actually really god damn difficult to siege a properly defended city
Like, sieges would last multiple years
Don't worry we'll just starve them out.
-guy who will die of old age before the city starved
And then there was that one siege that lasted like 2 weeks
Basically a perfectly defended city with the ideal conditions and this guy dismantled it piece by piece
When they seiged brexit?
I can't remember the name but the guy leading the siege was also the guy who designed the defences

Like he knew exactly what to do
Kinda the opposite since Saruman did just about everything wrong
He would have won, if it wasn't for gandalf and his 40k white scars speedbike horse
Yeah exactly. The first thing you do is ensure help can't get to the place you are attacking
Fair enough
It's like, the point of a siege
Oh wow GW doesn't know how war works

Armageddon is fun for what it is
Has the fang ever been seiged
Fenris looks so much more dangerous than baal tbh
Baal struck as me like, more hospitable compared to other death worlds
As far as I know, nobody has been dumb enough to try invading Fenris.
I did read about a Death Guard company trying to attack Nocturne. That basically got eaten by giant lizards
Didn't KSons attack it?
Oh shit you're right.
I'm pretty sure Magnus wanted the salty on the Space Furries
He gave it a spirited attempt
Nocturne was also once invaded by a chaos marine warband, several alien mercenaries which included Kroot and Drukhari, and a small band of Marines Malevolent all at once, and ALSO hit with a giant orbital laser during the same battle
That's quite the varied group. Nice to see that they can play nice with each other
So i know the real answer is "whoever the author wants to win" but how do Space Marines stack up vs an XV8 Crisis suit in a melee fight?
how, many marines? and whatmarines?
i cant remmeber what the 40k math hammer website is
but like what weaopns do the space mariens have
rare space marine maggie conversation
1v1 just mech vs power armor, if the space marine had a Thunderhammer even i would have to admit the battlesuit gets bodied, but in a duel of fisticuffs I'm a bit unsure, but I wanna say an XV8 usually takes that fight
I mean
if the space marine has a thunderhammer the battlesuit can just glide up/away and do the exact same thing with like dozens of weapons it also has lol
aka marine gets evaporated/filled with plasma holes
this is why these debates dont really work
Yeah i was about to say battlesuits have the ability to just leave, but hypothetically
The XV8 is just the basic crisis suit
This is an actual question tbf
In this hypothetical, neither fighter has weapons
And the battlesuit can't just fly away for whatever reason even tho that's exactly what it would do
I mean a crisis suit is still a mech suit
it could just land and crush the marine
we got examples in lore of Astartes dying very embarrassing deaths
thats even excluding the infamous wooden spear to the neck thing lol
random guy
yeah
spear
yeah even ignoring that lol
Love how sometimes marines will just chudrage and run straight at the enemy and die for no reason
Not even the marines with an actual enrage ability like Blood Angels or whatever
Was the marine in armor?
Do fish breathe the same air as us?
The answer is usually no in terms of helmets
Yes.
Lol
Lmao, even
Even i think that's kinda silly
A lot worse has happened
space marines deserve that knockdown
its canon at the end of the day so lol
But yeah i guess a space marine would get bodied by a XV8 even tho tau are bad at melee
Once again the tau prove they are superior in all but numbers /s
Average Word Bearer
Honestly I think it makes sense
I mean even the characters state it was basically the spear dude being lucky as shit
And that tearing off MOST OF YOUR FUCKING THROAT would kill like
Anything
Aren't Gal Vorbak possessed?
I've seen them get shot in the head and heal instantly
Idk maybe the daemon got bored with its host lol
Oh
Hm
That complicates things
I've seen a human stabbing a helpless marine in the neck with a knife and have to basically keep sawing because the wound keeps closing
Maybe if the spear cut the spinal cord? Maybe?
To be fair it's a knife stab vs like
Literally ripping out a chunk of his neck
Including throat
A serious injury to be sure
The possession makes it dubious
But who knows, maybe the Daemon got bored
I mean if your host got sneak attacked by some tribal dude
You'd probably think
"damn this guy sucks I'm outta here"

If anything, the daemon made it worse as like, a joke
The daemon:
The relationship between possessed marine and daemon can be contentious, but I understand the Word Bearers to be fairly stable on average
Tbh I just kinda assumed it was a regular SM
Like one that wasn't possessed
Since like that would make sense
Oh wait
Yeah apparently this takes place before they got their possession powers
So he was basically a normal SM
Also it was to his spine
So
Yeah man was fucking dead

That's still pretty pathetic but at least it's technically possible
I think at that point the gal vorbaks daemons were sorta dormant so not doing a whole lot
Yeah so normal SM
In terms of biology
Didn't get the bullshit powers
Although if this is from The First Heretic, that book also has a single SM kill a single Custodes
So.
It's a goofy death and I question how a dude with a spear managed to hear off enough of a throat to get to the bone but 40k is goofy so
Yeah
But goofy ass deaths happen all the time
Built different ig
I think he explicitly went through the area in-between the chest plate and the helmet
Just
Jammed it in there
Yeah, the neck
Common Word Bearer L
I like how it sounds like you were actually there witnessing this
Because I was
Did you at least get therapy insured
Not really, that would have been a terrible place to be for a human
Orks invaded an Iron Warrior fortress world.
Orks won
Partially because the Iron Warriors were sabotaged by one of their own
If you were a human on that world, it was bleak
Ah yeah that one who got trapped under some rubble and had his throat slit repeatedly by some slave
Good times
Oh you've read that one too I see
Or jammed some metal in there? I forgor
Yeah I think it was just a piece of sharp metal
Siege of Castellax innit
Rebar sounds right, Iron Warriors are a funny lot even in dying
That one in particular deserved it
after sleeping it for a day, any opinions about the HH milita? I think if this releasedf last edition it would be much more awesome
It’s fine
Good attempt to try to make cults and miltia less of a clusterfuck
Iron Warriors are probably one of my favorites design wise
Like it fits them
Like they are interesting because they're a traitor faction that mostly doesn't like
Do all the "CHAOS REIGNS WORSHIP!"
Tbf not saying they aren't puppets on a fucking string
But it's nice to have something a bit different than the usual. Attempting to use chaos more as a tool. Emphasis on attempting.
Also shoving daemons into machines is just
Cool
Lile
I want more Daemon possessed weapons
Where is my Daemon possessed plasma rifle
Or even Daemon Xeno guns
Imagine a Daemon shoved into a T'au Battlesuit
That would be sick
Also
Should I make a Trazyn version of this
did it get updated
Yeah it got updated for 3.0
does it suck
it was the most fluffy faction maaan
was dorn killing alpharius on pluto before or after the siege on terra
before
this is from when sang was about to fight horus and ghost ferrus was giving him a bit of a rundown
"'the warp devours our souls,' the gorgon says.'those lost and those discarded alike. magnus, the pale king, alpharius, the red angel,... it spares no one. death is not release brother. it is unending torment lesson two remember?"
i notice he doesnt mention horus, fulgrim or lorgar does that mean that those three specifically were still semi in control of their better halfs or souls or
lorgar hadn't ascended yet but not mentioning horus or fulgrim is weird, especially fulgrim coming from manus
but it's probably just not wanting to list every primarch possible
total war warhammer 3 finally on sale
everyone should be on the left
Also why does the RT Space Marine's way of holding his gun look funny to me
its an old artwork
Like it just looks like he's using a water gun.
they didnt really care about realistic postures
IK.
It is funny though.
Charming also.
Look at his nice smile
Dilara is the joykiller
Of course
His shining t- one eye

Funfinder Dilara
yes
the modellers made Gadriel pretty
that's her name every time she looks at the pictures of spy from team fortress
also the scars
Dilara to pull out the boxing gloves out of every function Lara

seriously you have a reputation even to the mods of the server
tbh it does have a charm that I like

like you said, it's basically just them doing whatever the fuck
Also here is a cool Godzilla gif
Does Krieg have their own space fleets, or they use the service of Imperial Navy to transport them around?
almost all guard forces use imperial navy for transport as far as I know
it's a part of the design of not having too many forces under a single entity
Yeah the Navy is basically the taxi
the guard are expected to take quarters, train or do whatever on their way to warzones inside Navy vessels, it isnt theirs
It's to prevent rebellions from spreading too far
I think the decision was made just after the Whorus Wheresy
its also why the guard is broken up into several different types of regiment so no one force can have everything under one direct command
iirc its infantry armor and artillery while the aircraft are under the navy
Yep
Mechanised Infantray and Airborne Infantry are rare mixed regiments, sometimes by design, other times just by merging battered regiments together
This so the funniest name for a rule I’ve ever heard
I mean hey you try taking a hit from a shield square in the face you wouldn't like it either
Fabulous shield
“Yass, slay battle brother!”
am i chopped
yes
ill prob get some which would you recommend
Nuln oil and Agrax earthshade are the two most common ones
Nuln is more black and Agrax is more brown
he also got rlly dusty out of nowhere idk why
Is my terribly painted Terminator accurate I know you guys will know

What in lore did I paint it as though I just like paint whatever looks nice on it
I THINK a white head is the sign of a veteran?
Otherwise no idea, I also just follow the rule of cool lol
Im like 99% sure a white helmet is veteran status for imperial fists
Thats kinda the default too for the codex astartes no?
@celest dome 3rd legendary lord is Aislinn
Default is red I think
I don't know but they are birding up I guess
I saw total war warhammer 3 went on sale and I had the most evil smile ever im so hyped
Im a vicious beast
Anything else that is interesting ?
besides heroes like devotees of slanesh and mist mage no and the big showstopper monster for the high elves are
cant believe they copied the idoneht
oh wait thats the sea elemental
formt he uh
boat gmae
mags not everything is copying AOS cool down
I MWEAN IDONETH WHOOPS
also im shit posting dw
but yeah it's sea elemental
Mist mage ?
New lore of magic ?
unironically also an aos thing- probably referring to sea mist and not shadow mist but its a funny coincidence
Elves get new magic
is it sea mist or shadow mist
Oh yeah cacti you remember where we argued where magic comes from in warhammer fantasy
https://youtu.be/rY4NaermuWw?si=-G1sqmwbsnpZl7UJ
this entire vermintide dialogue is literally just that
#Fatshark #Darktide #Vermintide Lumberfoots!
…
Ye, but Bardin isn't wrong, if the Magisters are not saying it, more reasons for the WP to not think of it
A thing that would be interesting, though foolish would be to ask Bardin what he think power the runes
Oh shit helves got new units
And merywrms might still make it
They said they didn't showcase all the new units right
is lore of mist a thing in warhammer fantasy
God vermintide 2 banter is unmatched
any ideas for a name for a stingray the size of new york city
LMAO
those are great
im putting my city of sigmar on the bottomside of a giant stingray
does anyone know the pattern name of the bolter that had the magazine ontop aswell as its normal place
High elf rework.......
i, completley forgot manta rays and stingrays rays are completely different animals
This is fire
In an upside down city, would the noble class live at the top of bottom
the only time I've ever seen an upside down city was in ATLA
I don't think air nomads have something like that
but I would say top since it would be less dangerous plus more space
Aren't hiveworlds somewhat upside down?
in what way?
I mean sometimes the spires can go down but the people living there are like
still poor
but the entire structure and society is still standard form the bottom up
maybe there are upside down cities in 40k, a million planets and all
well
it depends on what kind of upside down
was the city always upside down
or did it get flipped after it was established
if you're perchance referring to a city hanging from below a flying mantaray for example, then the rich would live at the bottom I think
since the walls would begin from the top
and the tip of the hive would be at the bottom
Maybe the top is too dangerous, like if for example it's in the Realm of Hysh, the top would be constantly under harsh rays of sun light
Aren't Manta Ray a type of Stingray ?
No
Wikipedia seem to say they are
Through their sea God ye
They're both rays yes but Mobulidae (Manta rays family) are not stingrays
Very closely related
Dasyatidae (singrays) are a sibling family
or whatever you call it (might've forgot the real name)
They are relatives I believe
East India Company ahh
Oh come on, the EIC was more like the Admech
Tbf
Moving an entire factory isn’t that weird
It’s been done a few times in history lol
There’s weirder shit but this is the only one I can think of atm
Everyone post your favorite weird US lore
Oh right, the pot used to boil a confederate general that’s on display in a museum
Okay but that’s cool
I can’t remember any more details
I didn’t say it couldn’t be cool
my favourite weird US lore is that time this guy got elected president twice
Honestly that's great pick
20 years from now we are going to look back at this and think of it like " remember that time we elected him LOL"
There's just so many to choose from
"Remember when we stopped having elections ?"
Pick your favorite from our nightmare realm
💀
also the cia air dropping cocaine into black neighbourhoods always does it for me
Anything involving teddy Roosevelt is pretty good
True, fucking goat
Oh I know
The CIA literally giving people diseases
America possibly selling Alaska to Russia after having bought it from them
The CIA did so much shit lol
The CIA honestly wouldn't feel out of place in 40k
It already exists
My favorite US lore is that time we made the CIA and when everyone started to freak out about having the secret police, they proceeded to scare the shit out of everyone by insisting the Soviet's had more nukes than us
They just do shit
Mfw the actual US secret police(the fbi) has does less heinous shit inside the country then the CIA
Lol
Any time the FBI and CIA butt heads is pretty good too
Yeah because one is kind of evil and the other is extremely evil
Ruby Ridge is pretty fun when you look at the investigation and actual charges that led to it.
From the Civil war, there is a Flag that a Nord army got from a defeated state and the loser state is continiously requesting for it back
Bunch of losers
Basically, he committed a crime that is punishable by a fine and missed his court date
But the actual case against him is basically the definition of entrapment
The FBI has def done plenty of bad things, but there’s nothing on the level of the CIA literally overthrowing governments and giving random civilians horrific lethal diseases just to see what happened and how it would spread
I agree.
Interesting
The space race was pretty insane
Tbh it’s insane to me the soviets were doing so well with their awful computers
Like no offense to the soviets, they tried their best with what they had when it came to computers at the time
But it’s insane how big the gap was
The space race is also kinda bull, the Russian were amassing wins, so the American started to move the goal posts and assigned it to landing on the Moon
and the us still fucking lost the space race
It’s more so 2 seperate things
Tbh
The Soviet’s won every part of the space race aside from getting to the moon first
Lol
It’s less of an actual long race
More of a bunch of individual races
Imo
Y'know the funniest thing about it is that CIA means Central Intelligence Agency
They just had trouble getting people back down to earth alive
What type of intelligence would you get from giving people horrific diseases
Tbf that part was super hard for everyone involved, the soviets figured it out first
"Hmm yes... people with super aids die. Very insightful for our country..."
To be honest, the Space Race was pretty neat.
It was
It was the fucking 60s
Less of an American fun thing, when the URSS fell, there were some Astraunaut who were in space and were somewhat stranded
oof
"Command? Are... are you there?"
"Hello?"
Sergei Konstantinovich Krikalev (Russian: Сергей Константинович Крикалёв, also transliterated as Sergei Krikalyov; born 27 August 1958) is a Russian mechanical engineer and former cosmonaut. He is a veteran of six spaceflights, including two long-duration missions to Mir, two short-duration missions aboard NASA's Spac...
It blows my mind that we figured out space travel before we figured out the internet
tbf it ironically contributed to figuring out the internet
A lot of materials that we use for modern computers, phones, etc.
That tracks
were first made for astronauts/cosmonauts
again, it's a much better competition compared to uh
"Who has the most nukes"

The banana wars were pretty insane
The matter of internet is mostly miniaturisation
The US. By a long shot.
The US rn
Who has the most working Nukes, the US
It’s not even. close
The USSR had the most nukes
Before it fell
Nowadays uh
Ima be real with ya
The USSR had more nukes, but like what Elitewolf is gonna say, it's dubious on their functionality.
The reason as to why the USSR’s big nukes are prolly not working is due to their wargame simulations which they’ve made public
Even if Russia is about to fall
Only tactical nukes are on the table
Strategically
Knowing how the officers are stealing all the money to build houses and boats, I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the nukes are broken
Horrific systemic corruption
Although tbf, even if 25% of them remained.
...
That's still enough to wipe most of us off the map

There's also the matter of those suitcase nukes that Russia can't account for
Those are just. Out there.
Yeeeeep
We don’t know how many nukes the USSR lost
But I’m willing to be it’s as many as the US
Due to the size of their arsenal
They'd actually have to get through air defenses
At least as many as the US
True
I doubt it was less
But let's be fair here
Not because the USSR was incompetent
Even if one hit
That's still a major city wiped off the map
I'd be shocked if Russian ICBM's can even hit what they're aiming at
Honestly, if there is one thing I wish people would do
It's dismantle ALL of the nukes
just
throw them away
We've seen them use their best missiles in Ukraine and
use the uranium for power or something
Nukes have unironically prevented world war 3 several times
So
I think they’re okay.
True or it would be aimed at our nuclear sites in wyoming which exist to present a target in undesirable land
Bit of a double edged sword
Yeah and also almost started WW3 several times
I'm not sure the Cold War was any less destructive, just destructive in different ways
Iyeah
In an alternative timeline, we probably would be collecting bottle caps because of the Cuban Missile Crisis
The Cuban missile crisis by all rights should have set off a war
One guy (which happened twice btw)
That's not really possible afaik
One random soviet stopped the end of the world twice
Yeah
It was like, one Soviet ship captain that decided he wasn't gonna be the guy and he stood down when he was under orders not to
Gotta love Soviet computers going wrong
Tbh it’s still insane to me he got stripped of his rank
He was literally correct on all accounts
If the US was going to start a war it wouldn’t just be one nuke, even if it was just one nuke it is likely an accident, ect.
It is one of the few times where I believe that Quantum Immortality is a thing
either that or God hadn't abandoned us
Because it's only by one man and sheer fucking luck
That we didn't get vaporized
I mean if you look how WW1 started it's also just sheer luck (or unluckiness)
The universe felt bad for WW1 so it gave us a mulligan on WW3
Literally something out of a play honestly
It would be so funny if it wasn't actually real
..
Actually it still is funny
"Mmm delicious sandwi- HOLY SHIT IS THAT THE ARCHDUKE??"
To be fair, anything could have set off the powder keg.
Once again the Serbs make everything worse
The USSR’s handwoven computer memory chips are cool as hell
But it's a cosmic joke that the circumstances that did were so ridiculous
Look the Soviets were really creative
...in everything except farming apparently
The joke about all Soviet bloc computer experts knowing English
Because all the stolen manuals from the US were in English
Well they killed all the farmers so
It's more like
Stalin didn't know shit about farming
Because even though the man was evil. I doubt he intended for there to be a famine

If you're referring to the Holodomor, yeah that was on purpose
Oh
Fuck
Seriously?
But I meant when they originally collectivized the farms, back in like the 30s
Where Mao is an actual fucking dumbass
Yeah I expected something like that
Yeah, Stalin knew what he was doing
A very very wealthy farmer
Also the worst part is that like half of the iron was fucking useless
Oh look another communist leader from a wealthy background
The KMT and CCP were both self proclaimed socialists
Honestly Mao's way is really on brand with how all the Chinese revolutions have happened
Kill all the birds
X takes power
Millions died
The Chinese civil war and warlord era sucked
Quite the understatement
Probably one of the worst times alive to be a Chinese person
In modern history
Is that better
In the third of our Tides of Torment 'What's Next?' videos, the WH3 team shine a light on the High Elves, as well as what's changed since our previous chats!

hell yes skycutters
lesgo
I know WW2 gets all the attention for mass death and all but it's only that high because it also includes the Chinese numbers from that time
and there's one with bolt throwers
Warlord infighting while the Japanese are committing atrocities the next town over
Truly a warlord era moment
Honestly pretty on brand for China
At least we got some entertaining shit to read.
Dog meat General moment
His poems are just
And then the CPP and KMT commit their own warcrimes
Shitposts

Like actually just shitposts
Like the KMT flooding the yellow river
on purpose
This killed 3.5 million people btw
And it didn’t even work at stopping the Japanese offensive
Because the KMT were short sighted idiots
Yeah shit like this is why I fully believe like Ancient Chinese casuality numbers
Oh also
Chiang Kai Shek
Had to be kidnapped
And forced AT GUNPOINT
To work with the CCP
And then the CCP and KMT sabotaged each other constantly
During the war
I find it fitting that both Mao and Chiang went insane in their older years
And both hated the other
Two sides of the same coin
God the yellow river flood
They were blood/bond brothers btw
Lol
Chinese soldiers trying to beat the Japanese to the punch on killing the most Chinese civilians
Somebody in China has definitely unironically made a toxic Yaoi fanfic about Mao and Chiang
And no one talks about it
Including the CCP

Which seems easy for them to propagandize
But okay I guess
How did the CCP even react to that
They thought it was a good idea until the Japanese broke through
Then they thought it was a bad idea
The idea was sound on paper despite being an atrocity
The KMT just blew up the dam too early
CCP propaganda needs to focus on uniting the people against outsiders. Admitting that some of the worst of it came from other Chinese people undermines that message
Good point
I’d say Chiang was insane from the start
He was absolutely a psychopath
Granted, the Japanese would not be beaten and did wind up edging out the KMT but it was a close run thing
Why is the lore chat talking about china now
Mr “it’s better to kill a thousand innocent people then let one communist live”
Idk
Do you want to talk about something else
Casuality numbers are equivalent to Warhammer 40k causalities

"X takes power"
Someone asked about our favorite US lore and things spiralled from there
"23 million perish, yellow river flooded"
Also this might be due to the media I consume.
But it's weird that most Asian fantasy countries are based off of Japan the most.
I know the reason for that
Like where is China
Or Korea
Spoilers: it's communism = bad
I mean even for like
Ancient History
Or fantasy
There's more to it than that, obviously
Because Japan is the most like
Culturally absorbed by most of the world
If that makes sense
True.
Also has a distinct style with the samurai shit
It's partly because those Asian countries are pretty isolationist
They don't really share like Japan does, so their mythology stays local
Yeah China was isolationist up till Deng
lol
Also Chinese mythology is a clusterfuck to decode
For the average person
True
Although tbf that's just
A lot of Asian mythology in general

Journey to the West is amazing
Actually read journey to the West.
It has fucking Mpreg in jt
Like
I'm not even joking
Turn it into a movie
Would be too long
Needs to be a fucking MCU style series
There's also the problem that communist governments love destroying culture
To summarize.
Basically there's a kingdom of entirely women.
The cultural revolution 💀
Part of what the CCP says was the 30% wrong Mao did
Lol
The CCP’s policy on Mao is deranged lol
The 70/30 policy
They kidnap men and kill them after they're done with them
Mao was 70 percent right
No you drink from the magic river that makes you pregnant
The problem is that the magic river can also make males pregnant. And the main monk accidentally drank out of it because he was thirsty
That is what the CCP says yeah
He was right 70% of the time wrong 30% of the time
Which is insane
And the problem is that due to obvious reasons. He needs to get rid of the baby because he is biologically incapable of delivering it
So then they go to the fucking abortion basin
Imagine if Germany came out after world war 2 and was like:
But the problem is that the abortion basin is held by a minor God
Alright, you have a point. Maybe Hitler wasn't 100 percent right
And he's extorting women so that they have to pay to get rid of their baby
More like 70/30
Yeah so does Five Nights at Freddy’s Fazbear Frights what’s your point
So the Monkey King has to defeat the minor God and bring back women's choice!
The Journey of the West is full of crazy ass stories like this
It's great
Too bad the one child policy obliterated that
Until they removed it 💀
And even then
And now the government is trying to give benefits for people to have children
The problem is that it isn't enough

Your honor my client pleads oopsie daisy
How did they think halving the population every generation would go
"Sir, if my client is what he has killed. Then he is an innocent child going to take a shower."

Truly a moment of all time
Probably expected it to be like a fucking rts
Your honour were you even there
