Yeah I always thought it similar to like
The cross for example.
Like "Yeah they're Christian, but we don't know what denomination"
Basically.
So it seems that they grafted some of it into his right shoulder, but other parts are seemingly not like
Stapled in
Oh
Oh no wait they are
I thought the metal plates weren't for a sec
Also
Ouch

Still wonder how the fuck they managed to surgically add it to the Ogryn.
It is both impaled and bolted into them
The spike behind their right elbow appears to be run straight through from the other side
Probably caused at least almost 100 cultist deaths just to add the Chaos star into the Ogryn
Let's be fair here

It’s more than likely they didn’t feel it
Yeah but like
Try getting a 3 year old to do anything that seems slightly inconvenient
...
Now make said 3 year old gigantic
With strength and durability beyond a space marine in power armor
ogryns take simple orders
bribe it with food, tell him its for the good of the imperium
sit him down, plant that thing in him
tell him to go kill those space marines
for the good of the imperium
I’m assuming that chaos ogryn follows anything you tell them to unquestioningly
They’ve also got their commissar with them
i doubt you even need to do much with chaos ogryns, just transport em to the battlefield and let em loose
"For valour in battle and service to the Emperor of unbounded courage, you are hereby awarded the Star of Terra, bear it with pride that you may inspire others to worthy endeavor in the service of Man". The Colonel completed the dedication in a single breath before pinning the ribbon onto Marbo's chest. This one was for wiping out a whole squad of aliens, killing their commander and capturing their command post single-handed. He leaned closer to Marbo and asked, "You want me to look after it for you son? Like the rest?", Marbo nodded solemnly. "Alright son, you can go". The words had barely left the Colonel's lips before Sly Marbo had plunged back into the jungle as smoothly as a fish slipping into a stream."
Sly marbo stuff is so funny
I admit the Ironkin models look good enough I might use one or stand in for UR25 on the Imperial Agents Legends choices.
Trying to figure out exactly how harsh I should be with consequences of player choice in my campaign, it is 40K so it should be fairly harsh, but I always hated it when games are like “you didn’t choose the option that was secretly the best one even though you had no idea, everyone dies”
Rather than everyone dying, you could have an external party stop the crisis, but say your PCs are under scrutiny for heresy
Which is pretty heavy handed enough
In the 40k verse
So the situation is
The party is aiding the war to retake the systems only agri world from an Ork WAAAAGH! And they were given some selections for operations, with the two main options being to rescue a hab block full of new militarum recruits that were left behind during the chaos, or to escort a convoy carrying a macroharvest
And they picked to save the recruits
Yeah people got no idea how expendable human life in 40k is
Well they REALLY need the PR
Lmao Id probably showcase that the choice basically doesnt matter and the Imperium always gets its tithe of flesh
After accidentally nuking half a forgeworld
Im surprised the mechanicus hasnt bombarded them to paste

They underwent a trial

Which realistically was only a farce
The inquisitor they worked for could have swept it under the rug of “Inquisition business” but he let them go to trial because it would be fun to watch
And he wanted to see how his interrogator would handle it
Reminds of the time Total Biscuit was in a game of Dark Heresy TTRPG and he got out of punishment in a trial by out lore nerding the GM
Cause sure, the party could make the argument it was necron related and they just happened to be there
But they just falsified footage from the skitarii that went with them into the tomb
And a very convenient daemonic incursion occurred halfway through the trial which allowed the party to save the Archdomina presiding over the trial
Which made them change their mind and go “wow we really got bigger fish to fry”
And allow the party to live so long as they are kept under very heavy surveillance and because the inquisitor very heavily insisted that “don’t worry I won’t let them blow up half a world again, you only get one of those under my command”
Nihilus shit
Right next to the rift doesn’t help
Well thats defiintely one excuse lol
They’ve been happening more and more
And coincidentally there’s been a lot of heretek activity on the forgeworld that the party ignored to go nuke necrons
Anyways back to the orks, how would you recommend I do this?
Players do always be stupid
I got no idea, I'm not a DM, I just throw ideas
the worst part of 40k rpg games is people trying to be good guys
I was planning on making the sectors food situation worse, but giving the party some bodies to use as the recruits feel indebted to the party
RT or DH ? And what is that you're trying to do ?
So they’ll be willing to assist them once they join up
W&G
These guys have done a great job of being unredeemable evil so far, while thinking they’re the good guys, very imperium coded

The only reason they decided on the recruits is, in the words of the party’s lexmechanic “It will provide more targets for the enemy to select besides myself”
food all day
new recruits can fend for themselves
~~ lol no , but food~~
Like the time (Star wars rpg) my players were asked to wait in a lobby before meeting with the local senator (I was giving them a chance to sort out what they were going to ask him because they knew it was going to be a quick meeting and they wouldn't have much time when they were in there) and one of the players decided he didn't want to wait, so he walked over to the Senators secretary who I described as sitting behind a screen of what looked like reinforced glass like at the bank, pulled out his regular blaster pistol, pointed it at the secretary and said "We aren't waiting, I want to see him now"
also Im watching angels of death, im like 50 minutes in

so far, the only char I like is the techmarine
techmarines tend to be based
Basically I’m conflicted because realistically, if 6 dipshits show up saying they’re gonna help you win a war, and they say “hey I’m gonna go get you some more grist for the mill” I assume the militarum, space marine, and mechanicus forces are still going to probably prioritize the food
But if I just let NPCs do the job successfully, It sorta invalidates player choice
I don’t necessarily want to tell my players “your decision is stupid because none of these people will last a day”
space marines always saying useless shit like " fix my armor" " fix my gun" "fix my strike cruiser" fix my thunderhawk" " fix my landraider " drive my landraider" fix my power sword " fix my dreadnought" etc etc, and then on top of it, the techmarine has to fight with the marines too
Cause then I’ll be accused of railroading lol
If one of my player had done that, I think I'd have them enter a combat scenario against the Secretary.
And knowing how they are, I'd probably have already planned for her to be severly augmented
Some probably baseless "trust me bro" comments abt DoW4 but it's nice to see positivity
rts genre needs some love tbh
its been ..sparse
The glass was blaster proof, so she just stared at him, pressed the alarm button and several armed guards came storming into the room and stunned him, while the rest of the party looked on like "WTF were you thinking"
Its one of the worse animations on the site ngl
its not great yeah
the awkward animation, the shaky cam, the voice acting, the characters, oof
the camera angles too
also I made this horrible mistake , I saw patience of iron, that shit is DARK
IT MADE ME DEPRESSED
Patience of Iron?
its the ep where the guardsman gets turned into a servitor
oh lol
It can succeed, but just make it clear that the success was at great cost, lots more died than needed to and maybe it's not a total success, they lose like 60% of the shipment or something
hes this very positive dude escoring his wounded captain in a tunnel and keeping him motivated, then a kataphron shows up, saves them, guns down his captain for being terminally injured and takes the guardsman to a tech priest
the tech priest then inspects him and locks him up with a bunch of hoomies, she then pulls him out, tells him she needs flesh because everything else works fine for the next 40 years, paralyzes him , conducts surgery on him and turns him into a servitor
Tempest Rising was pretty nice apparently

That is your daily reminder that admech are horrible and the only difference between the Mechanicus and Dark Mechanicus is one just uses daemons
But most of the other ones are just sloppy esport crap with a ton of low effort content and no tangible way of becoming mainstream
Quite fair
tempest rising does look good
It is just a command and conquer game
i havent tried it
Ok I think I got it, they’re so desperate to reclaim food, they commit a majority of their forces to it, leaving a large forward base without sufficient soldiers
the only strat games I play now are anything xcom style or wh3
speaking of xcom style, I need chaosgate 2
in retrospect, I did enjoy that game a lot
wasnt perfect, but I remember it fondly
they were right the whole time when you think about it
also that last tithes episode was a little wtf at the end
where they go to another planet, contact some Muun looking dudes, show them dataslate for tithe, and the guy is just like "No" and then tells his buddy to destroy the platform and the episode ends

Imperium is wasteful

that entire world was also basically covered in cargo towers so
best ending for a character in 40k is dying good death tbh
anything else is just like " good lord"
Like commissar brok 🫡
man confessed hed shot 50 soldiers as a commissar then died duelling an ork kommando
A hero of the imperium truly 😔
I can never go into general chat again I will just get banned
I fucking hate warhammer fans
It’s deliciously imperium lol
for a society that hates mutants and xenos, imperium sure has a lot of humans running around that barely look human
Lmao what happened
No nothing I just hate interacting with them
Fuck bro, writing is hard when you gotta come up with infrastructure and know shit about military strategy
I'm tempted to go in and give my opinion on Firstborn
i'm tired of having the lasgun retcon debate problem boss
how can it be a retcon when its the OG art boss
a rare problem for the 40k writer
wonder if dark heresy is gonna have yellow lasgun fire
or sm3 for that matter
I imagine GW isn't forcing people to do it, I don't think GW really cares. They just complimented battle sector for going OG
The thing is its not even a retcon, GW is nowhere near meticulous enough to stop or pretend the bolts havent always been red, you cannot micro-manage shit like this lol
They unfortunately very much do
yall got no idea how much they micro-manage some stuff in games
im under NDA but-
Well no I generally understand that but then why wouldn't they stop it in Darktide
They are like the equivalent of nintendo in ip possessiveness
Oldheads will give you the deadeyed lead paint stare and tell you the one on the right looks better
Like I siad above because its literally "who gives a fuck"
I just said that 😡
i imagine they are extremely stingy with the IP, otherwise wed have finally had that humour centric game about playing as orks and space marine as the villains
To be fair
That one Ork shoot em up is pretty funny
Like coming up with the logistics of how the party would transport the recruits back on a planet where the mission goal of the orks is to disassemble every piece of machinery to repair their space hulk. Like if I say there’s magically a train line back to the main base, I now gotta deal with there being a train line into the main base when orks attack it
SHOOTAS BLOOD AND TEEF!
you dont even need to make like a popular chapter of sm the villains, just use one of the meaner successor chaptors
Military logistics nerds, I summon thee!!
Fucking best ork song ever
Listen to the tunes of the Six Shootas while you tear it up in Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef. Get riled up by the uplifting music and your blood pumping while Gargaz inflicts carnage throughout the hive city Luteus Prime.

Hell yeah
ok fine i will go play blood and teef

Just listen to that fucking soundtrack
If you don't i will turn you into burnt toast
also wed have that epic stealth game about some guy or xenos that has to infilitrate the imperial palace but it has to be pure stealth mechanics and technology , if you get detected its game over
I lied I booted up battlesector im so sorry
I've never actually clicked on your pfp before to see it full size, just seen the mini version. This whole time I thought it was a cat with hair buns and bangs
also if they werent so stingy with the IP we can finally have that 40k game where all you do is be planetary governor of a planet and manage it with problems popping up on classic 4x text cards like gangers stealing supplies or xenos vessel spotted in orbit
holy fuck Dexter, Mac n Cheese, and Warhammer video game. god
Who else but me bro I live in luxury
and to pay the tithe every cycle
WE NEED a warhammer colony management game BAD
Give me frostpunk but warhammer NOW
Ip holders want to be paid, which make sense, and dev studio don't really benefit that often from having some Ip cost added on top
and make your planet important enough to have important installations like making your guard regiment one of renown and pleasing arbites by giving them a massive fortress or stuff like that or pandering to the sm by facilitating recruitment from your hives
this cinematic still one of my favorites
orks are so menacing in non ork stories
Have to quell GSC and Chaos issurection
it just sounds so awesome
yeah, it doesnt need to be a fancy next gen game, just classic strategy planet management
We've got Gladius
We're getting one on mobile iirc

I cant get into gladius sadly
Is that Supremacy: Warhammer 40,000?
Yes
imagine if you could also just lean into corrupt governance and make yourself super rich and tyrannical and let cults foster while hiding it from the imperium
fuck saw the Total War dlc again 🤮
That bad?
its norsca
I hate the Dlc for game 3
and helves
He has a very specific taste on what he would think would be good lord choices and stuff
It's kind of his thing
I like helves
Even the chaos dwarfs?
also i do like chorfs
I think chaos dwarves one few times he didn't blow a fuse
I think they should have had a 4th lord
well
But as you can see
Other than that not much wrong
Still not perfect
I respect the passion that is backed up with lore knowledge
ogres are my favourite faction , and Im glad they got that rework that made them obscenely strong
Let me tell you if you distel every dlc of total war into a poison and shot him with it he would convulse and explode
I don't think I like their new DLC format
Sayl the Faithless has no business being in Norsca
Anyobe ever get pissed off that rogue trader has better space battle music than the fucking 40k space battle game?
also, I am glad that ca finally confirmed nefarata will be in the game
you can just mute the game music and play whatever you want
Are they at 100 Lords yet ?
Yeah he suggested that were bear would be a better pick and i agree
yeah they are at 100
Yes
No I love the rogue trader music
Beorg Bearstruck
but like cmon BFG2 devs
How did you feel about the norsca dlc in TW 2?
I cant even tell your tracks apart
beorg might come as an lh
and theres only like 4 of them
Didn't they say that the 100'th lord was gonna be a special one ?
they say a lot of things
I don't know it's between a fat ogre a smart orc and 2 khorne lords
Take your pic
Not great balance/mechanically wise, but not bad thematically
I like the silly troll
Damn, was expecting Nagash as the 100th
they are fixing throgg in the next patch
they are also finally giving alberic a proper va
a unique one
and they are also finally making it so settra can confederate khalida and khatep
alberic, throgg and wulfric are getting new voicelines , with wulfric getting some added and the other two getting revamped ones
re-vamped?
https://youtube.com/shorts/MfOhBl8de1U?si=UQttWtwp-AbjPKiI
I like the chimera so far
"Can I pet that dog?"

vlad aint getting shit, the vampires are getting nefarata though
they didnt say when, but they did confirm nefarata is coming to the game
well, " confirm"
they very strongly implied it
very very strongly
ok nobody stab me to death but are the soulblight gravelords just the AoS version of the vampire counts
yes
Yes
It's not even a bad thing to say that they are literally the vampires
Well no I mean more than just being vampires like faction wise too
the real stab me to death question is whether stormcast eternals are sigmarines
I have since learned that AoS is not a dystopia
AoS is technically post apocalypse
- Ogre shouldn't have been pre-order (should have been Belakor + Undivided DP)
- Champion of Chaos should have sent their lords into the Monogod factions
- Ogre Kingdom should have had Golgfag from base, and Bragg the Gutsman (either LH or LL specialised in non-Ogre)
- Chaos Dwarf should have had a 4th Lord, either Hackhart (not a CD), or Gorduz Backstabber (Hobgoblin)
- Shadow of Change: Changeling as LH, Blue Scribes as LL
- Throne of Decay, not have Malakai as LL, instead LH, Dwarf getting Grimm Burloksson)
- Omen of Destruction: Skulltaker as Flc LL, Skarr as the dlc LL
- Tides of Toment: Have Sayls as Warrior of Chaos, or have an actual Norscan character
im waiting for the day when half the stormcast eternal chapters turn to chaos
The strigoi however split off and became the ghouls which is the flesh eater courts
Is the empire the big bad like 40k?
stupid question but genuinely dont know
no
There isn't an Empire in AoS
The cities of sigmar are good but they are capable of doing bad things
Also yeah the empire does not exist
That cities of sigmar
Yea Cities are complicated and vary
i need to get updated from AoS changes oh my god
fantasy is quite dark, but it tends to be more wholesome by comparison to 40k, fantasy including aos and wh fantasy
^
Warhammer Fantasy and AOS also has actual good guys
because Sigmar is not space hitler lol
I thought you were going to say good god guys
Which is also true
Makes a lot more sense
The Empire, Bretonnia, Kislev... all have issues, but those come from being medieval countries for the most part
I like that
^
Yeah they also work together
and arent nazi tier racists
Hell, even Nagash is still better than Space hitler
they actively trade, live in cities together, etc
i cant get too invested into AoS because I will just end up buying half the spearheads 🙁
COWARD
I've been eyeballing the seraphon and soulblight gravelords
i have no room for that shit
bonereapers are my favs so far
I like the entirety of grand alliance destruction
bone reapers are insane they're so cool
its nice having skeletons that arent TRASH
But my favorite are iron jawz
Kharadron
and believe it or not these are the nicest guys
In death yeah
Aye
They are the nice guys of grand alliance death
thats an extremely common opinion and one you are based for
Naked fire barbarian doesn't appeal a lot of people
Fyreslayer really could use a full revamp
Though i do not mind them getting more clothes
Like even the Cities of Sigmar can have these guys as allies
also of all the warhammer elf origins giving them various reasons to be edgy, autistic and mildly stupid , the idoneth deepkin have the only origin that makes sense to me for fitting that bill with some level of grayness
HOA can lick my balls this is gonna look great in my front yard
The other one is actively mind controlling people the other one are blood thirsty hunters and the other one is literally racist trees
I think
They are on the clear on morality on this one
i just like that their origin started with " hey teclis, fuck off"
Ok now who wants to tell me of the major changes to skaven from fantasy to AoS
They kind of need it to live
Literally nothing but better things to kill people
wahooo!!!!
The Horned Rat is now a Chaos god
skaven are perfect, they dont need much changing.
like canonical?
RATATATATATATATATATATATA
It's literally the main event of fourth edition
Him literally ascending
As a chaos god
that's so sick
It already was, but Slaanesh got hit pretty hard and the GHR took more power in the vacuum
We are currently in fourth edition
they need one, slaanesh is kinda of in the middle of unplanned chaining bdsm
I bought the 4th launch box I just never really read about it
Yea Slaanesh is kinda still imprisoned
I'm pretty sure the rat ascending at least broke one more chain
Don't think it'll be freed ever
they should bring back malekith with an army tbh, doesnt he have like shadow elves or something
Getting fed AoS lore is making my mac n cheese so much better thanks chat
He's Malerion now
No worries like an iron jaw i will punch it down your throat anyway
and ye Malerion is like the lore of the Realm of Shadow, he's got his own shadow aelves
also they did justice to belakor in aos, he has the kind of model he deserves
also belakors top champion has a pretty flashy model
i forgot his name, something the first blade?
Eternus, blade of the first prince
yeah eternus
Oh right, Varanguard are with Archeon
He used to be Varanguard, he was like Archaeon's most trusted Champion before abandoning him for Be'lakor
Yeah eternus is the corrupted Varanguard working for belakor bitchacore
And apparently he's literally a dark mirror of a stormcast
Reforging and all
Yea like he respawns in black lightning
my beloved , kavalos deathriders
Fuck you, Shark mounted harpoon gun
GIANT FUCKING BOAR
Deploy the Turtle chariot
isnt that thing like super expensive
Nice toothpick
big stabba can take that on
Yea it's nearly £90
damn
You know that this guy specializes in fighting right and could just i don't know deflect that
no? its the big stabba, once it stabs its basically like the big bang explosion
another cosmos is born
It doesn't explode
It's a giant sharpened piece of rock on a stick
the sacred stabba bearers sprint at nearly the speed of light
have giants always had 4 toes and fingers?
ive always liked this kraken eater mega gargant art tbh
Yeah they've always had that
never noticed but i tend to avoid paying much attention to hands/feet most of the time
the toenails are so strangely detailed lol
Whatever you say
i guess when the mold is that big you can fit in a lot of extra details
It's supposed to be a giant and these guys aren't really known for hygiene
ofc
is his club made of a cannon and odd ship parts?
Yes
nice
There is a boat on the back iirc
kraken eater gargant is awesome yeah
they are my second fav aos faction after bonereapers
Well part of a boat
Mfs will do anything but pick up a brush!
bruh
mephiston is in angels of death?
and he looks like a devil may cry villain
sweet emperor
Tbh his scene is like a few seconds long
this vashtorr art is pretty decent
I like how he has a simple aesthetic
and isnt a bunch of cogs and wires with a demon head
The skins look like it's attached to the metal fram rather than his normal face
they can afford to give some of that celestian power armor to the guard
They're Shrapnel Bolter Cannons, think Iron Legion mostly were the ones who used Shrapnel Bolters but think he's the only one with those wrist cannon versions
He's a similar sort of height as Lion and Guilliman models in 40k
If Perterabo gets a 40k model it will probably be bigger
All the other Chaos Primarchs got bigger in their ascended 40k versions
Lorgar probably has a distinct model given he was interested in demonic possession and bodies getting fused and all that
Or maybe he's the same but has horns now
I see Lorgar somehow being completely unchanged, maybe just slightly bigger
Na Pert's almost certainly going to be either a fusion of metal and flesh like Vashtorr or entirely metal
He's already kind of a fusion of metal and flesh
Doesn't the man have a computer he installed into his brain
pert has become a daemon prince as well so he is quite certainly quite changed
Lorgar should get galvor back style aesthetics
Gal Vorbak you mean? 😄
Yeah, autocorrect
thought so, a funny one
I just think Lorgar ascending and being "seemingly" completely unchanged would have a "See, this is the power of Chaos within a true believer" aspect to it
They could go that route
And do an inversion, since I think the chaos gods would enjoy twisting up perty more physically since he isn't that committedby comparison, and lorgar less because getting more daemonic is probably what lorgars into
Like feed Lorgar's zealotry, all his brothers got twisted and changed by the gods because they had to be shown the light. But he found it willingly on his own.
Wonder why gw has never had any daemon prince model for either though, like I get having an outdated one
But they don't have one at all
But we have like 10 ultramarine primaris lieutenants or something
Because the Monogod legions get the most attention within Chaos
Also it'd be funny if lorgar became like ripped and Vulkan sized
Since he was physically the weakest primarch
New necron canoptek art
also SoB novitiates and Kommandos becoming normal 40k kits
Oh that's nice, Novitiates and Ork Kommandos are being retired from Killteam, but the models are being reboxed and will still be produced for regular 40k
yeah
Will probably be cheaper too, since I assume they'll remove all the extra killteam stuff from it
wonder if you can run all the minis present

Pretty sure they said that the little warrior spyders are so worthless that they respawn every round and don't count for kill scores, so I assume it's the whole box
No I think there's 2 of the little guys who are operatives and then three of them are warrior chaff
Let me see if I can find where they talked about it
peakmaker special edition
Oh it was from the reveal
The Deathwatch box though has 10 models in it, but will only be 5 operatives in Killteam
neat
and you can build one of each variant apart from the Gravis because it only has two bodies but 3 variants
of all the hive cities on the planets in the imperium, I feel like the scale of mars is probably stretching the imagination
apparently its got entire hive cities below hive cities that are ghost towns and completely abandoned
then theres all the endless factories above and below ground and all the buildings the techpreists are building for the memes
and the giant rotating orbital ring surrounding the planet thats basically a shipyard
shipyards aint small either
and all the endless caverns and vaults and stuff where they hide their secret tech
and the void dragon
ah yes
the ~~ c'tan~~
im surprised the mechanicus hasnt reached the core of the planet yet
or have they
maybe probably
I love how like
special edition
generic ass border
literally traced the old callidus mini
||None of the special editions looked good tbh||
correct
The AOS ones look good
Probably because who ever designs those covers are fucking insane
Not the battletome special editions those a look like ass
AoS design team is working without having their hands tied behind their backs
another AOS w
Fr
Vs 💩
What do you think the destruction one will be?
Similar idea, just much worse execution and style
Droggz
I got so many projects lined up, I gotta decide what army to finish next
I was going to get the Gitmob box as my last AoS faction, but then I walked into my local hobby store and the owner said "Hey you like undead right" and gave me a special offer on the Deathrattle army box.
Lmao
It's a small store so I think he prefers to get rid of army boxes as quick as possible since they take up a ton of space
Damn
Does Droggz have a book already ?
Don't think so, but he's a fairly new champion of the Gloomspite Gits new shiny subfaction, so I'd assume he would get something
Nope
Can the rubric marines cast spells at all or can they only shoot and stab?
The soulless dust ones
Rubrics are basically roombas with bolters.
Watching video on dreadnought patterns
Zone out for a second
Psyker dreadnoughts are a thing
Psyker what are a thing
I gotta read some books with these guys in them
Psykers are actually ridiculous enough when the writer decides the story is done with, wtf is a Dreadnought libriaran gonna do??
If I remember rightly the technology that allowed the creation of Librarian dreadnoughts was created during the heresy via a combination of work from Blood Angels, Thousand Sons and White Scars. Then because Thousand Sons went traitor the technology wasn't spread to the other chapters/Legions and White Scars don't really like Dreadnoughts, so the Blood Angels are the only ones that use it for that purpose.
I'm just wondering how the fuck would they read
I'm imagining a serf reading a book for him lmao
Audiobook 40k edition
USB drive straight into the brain
yeah
we dunno
I don't understand what you mean
Tho now I imagine a Dreadnought deeeelicately turning the page of a book with one of those massive claws lmao
daemons eat their soul
Oh
I'd assume they're in some sort of dream state
Psykers have to be pretty constantly on guard for warp predators who'll possess them and eat their souls
They're probably entombed and put in statis with some blood, it's pretty common for Blood Angels
How do you protect yourself when youre in standby mode
But dread dreams aren't exactly the same
might be a weird one
the Tsons designed it and used them during the heresy
and the other legions had limited numbers but GW never elaborates on that
The video I'm watching says they use a modified psyker collar, so maybe that just acts as a shield
Huh apparently some of the elements are made using material found in Geller field cores, so that probably gives shielding from the warp and daemonic influence
Imagine your ship getting lost in the warp and the sleeping statue is just passively banishing daemons that get too close to it
Plot armor + Rule of cool
Normal Dreads are pretty much screwed if the enemy walks in them sleeping right?
I mean, that's just a weird space marine put in a box
He ain't got daemons chasing his soul right?
Soni I got a question for you
what do you think you'd name a Space Wolf whos evil-evil and serves chaos
Chaosmoon
Murderfang is just bad because its

ugly as fuck
and makes 0 sense lore wise
lol
which is LAMPSHADED IN UNIVERSE
SO WHY TF DID YOU EVEN MAKE IT
that is the dudes actual head yes
which is not how dreads work
Its also like SUCH a bad idea too
wulfen are literally suicide berserker troops
I mean it caaan
why the fuck
I have a feeling GW might be putting ol murder fang down
would you
lol
put one i na dreadnaught
Well
they don't know how it exists
they literally found it
in the middle of bumfuck nowhere
covered in blood
?????????
GW pls
Im talking the unit
oh
There's artwork of a dread with his entire upper body and head exposed, the front plate has been taken off, and he honestly looks fairly normal
Just entombed below the waist and his arms
yea but that sort of sarcophagus isn't designed that way
That's some warp shittery
and the apothocaries and techmarines upon seeing Murderfang
were like
"What the fuck is this"
"why is it like tihs"
ect.
realistically speaking
anyways the space wolves literally put it in a block of ice
like some sort of goofy ass fucking meme
kill the wulfen and re-use the chassis
using them as troops is so dumb
that is what should have happened
tbf they literally do cull Wulfen
Murderfang exists entierly due to uh
idk, ask GW
Yeah I love how also like they entirely brush how they are dealt with just "Oh they just know to attack the enemy"
this is up there wit hlike
I can't even remember the last time I saw murderfang on board lol
its SUCH a bad idea
I meeeeaaan, that's kinda what Eversors are
Its not though
wulfen aren't
Wulfen are explictly degraded mentally into an animalistic like state lol
its why wolf priests often just kill them on the spot
Eversors arent given powered mecha suits the size of a tank
That's kinda silly. Like cool, but silly
The Space Wolves are kinda too heavy on the theme for me lmao
vikings get shafted so hard for western weeabo points in media
no author seems to want to fucking touch it lol
so we just get vikings™
wolf priest, with a wolf skull using a croazius with a wolf skull with a wolf pelt lined
I mean, I like that
The problem is other chapters claimed them lmao
I mean no they havent
however wulfen can go eat a dick
i cant think of a single one
Ravens, a big thing for Odin, are taken by yknow
Blood Ravens, thefuckingcorvuschapterthatsescpaingme
but only for the librarius lol
^
The librarius gets raven stuff
Blood Ravens also dont use ravens, ironically enough
It is not hard to write accurate norse culture themed stuff thats cool
the new space wolf stuff is fine
Yeah thats kinda the issue, they just dont
okay but this isn't accurate norse culture
lol
its uh
its something alright
in fact I'd call the new space wolf stuff good tbh
like the minis look great
Bjorn is a fun character, I'm happy enough with the Space Wolves purely because of him lmao
They were a very broad culture, you can do a lot of directions with it and still represent
Thats my point
My question is why not?
Because
Because slop viking visuals sell more
^
Also GW doesn't do any real world culture
accurately in 40k
at all
its always some weird variation of an irl one that has a bunch of weird stuff going on on purpose
or distorted
which is absolutely intentional of GW lol
Cant you still do viking slop visuals but tweaked to fit? Oh right, almost nothing about the traditional viking stereotype is accurate
Also its kinda boring
Ok so just do something that isnt just fucking WOLF a million times shoved down your throat
rest of space wolf culture is ok
Yeah, but they still were unique
For example, I feel like Bloodhound from apex was a pretty cool representation
which GW is prolly afraid of touching lol
Wolfguard, bloodclaws, skywolves, grey hunters, long fangs, wolf scouts
wolf priest
Only a matter of time before we get Wolf Wolf
behold canis wolfborn
Like cmon, other chapters arent this bad
Wolfguard™ terminators
I remember having a conversation about this about another sci fi setting where it was like thousands of years in the future after several apocalypses and there was one of the space empires that had modelled themselves after what they knew about Rome and this guy was tearing it to shreds for not being accurate to Rome and them using Latin wrong etc etc.
Like it's tens of thousands of years and several post apocalyptic events since the Romans existed, this shit is one long game of whisper telephone. The planet Earth doesn't even exist anymore, they have no way of verifying any of this shit.
Tbf other chapters
also have some weird ass fucking naming conventions lol
Iron Hands
No explanation needed
Ah
Like what the fuck is "shadelord"
Also confusing given that the role names and roles aren't the same
Yeah but I bet it was better than the fucking space wolves
I dont need it to be accurate
Why the fuck is the intiate the one that trains people
I need it to be culturally broad
like if you're going to take inspiration from a culture and make it have less flavor than water, than what are you doing?
You don't understand the space wolves have a vast culture
...
Wolf wolf wolf wolf
That just happened to be wolf bas
They have like 3 things
and 2 of them are barely mentioned
Vikings in spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace
and werewolves
mostly vikings though
I wonder if the GW employee who came up with Wulfen in 3e
thinks about what they caused long term lol
Yeah I think the worst part is how they really don't go beyond like
The shallow level
For the vikings
I mean yeah
At least the aesthetic is kinda cool. Still gets tiring though
At least the Black Templars are entertaining
Despite also being kinda shallow
Nothing like a good rousing round of murder

None of the Chapters really go into much depth on the cultures that inspired them
Would be interesting but would also make players struggle a bit to get into them
So to speak
Some chapters have their own actually developed culture
tbf
thats just vaguely based on an irl one
Space Wolves have uh
part of a developed one
lol
True.
Whenever Space Wolves get into worldbuilding it does actually get interesting
...
Now if only they at least had other fucking animals
They technically don't even have wolves
You'd think they would have horses
Norses loved horses
ba dum tss
Odin even had an 8 legged one ffs
Marvel did it
Fucking Marvel
Why not GW
You bitches
because horses are the white scars thing
No horses for Space Wolves, not allowed
... actually why did the salamanders get the sea faring break away chapter
Why not
I feel like Space Wolves should have one
A bunch of chapters have sea faring chapters
Traveling through there
Do the space wolves have one
Too bad
Space Wolves don't really have successor chapters
I saw that repost
I mean raven guard has the carcaradons.
and the Ultramarines have the Emperor's Spears and the Ultramarines have the Iron Snakes
Sea faring cultures is like at the top of the line for unoriginal ideas so checks out
Na na, see the Emperors Spears are a Celtic seafaring themed chapter, while the Iron Snakes are a Greek seafaring themed chapter
Totally different
don't act like a polynesian theme wouldn't go hard as fuck
imagine how big a maori space marine would be
Also we have like a bunch of sea faring cultures
That's just the space sharks and we know tyberos is titan sized
Makes sense also
ERHM TYBEROS IS ACTUALLY PHALANX SIZED

GET UR LORE STRAIGHT
Space Sharks are cool
Purely because sharks are cool
It's not like space wolves because wolves don't swim in the ocean
Ez

sharks are lame
die
Why does that A posing human have a big ass
I know right
Extra cake in that meal
animator's reference model
which should tell you all you need to know
also this technically counts as vore
since not chewing
Gay.
you too

Space sharks vaguely
It's true.
What has Call of Duty become?
They found out how to make infinite money
But at what cost?
No cost for them
Well, I mean. Licensing costs right?
Oh, true lmao
Is Oculus Imperia a good loretuber to listen to?
Yes
Aighty thank ya
Could a space marine theoretically join a different chapter?
It would be weird for genseed reasons but I can't think of a real reason why it would be impossible
The deathwatch exists, so there is a precedent
Deathwatch isn't a chapter, that's different
But the Imperial Fist have at some point recalled SM from their successors to replenish their numbers
whats the difference in brood brothers and neophyte hybrids
are brood brothers not genestealer offspring
Long ago I red short explanation that in wh40k elves are different than in fantasy. In 40k are eldar mix of high and dark elves? Drukhari are dark eldar or no?
It’s basically the same high and dark elf dynamic
Just in space
One of side is high and mighty holier than thou with clean architecture and mysticism
The other side has a societal need for mass torture
The background is the same.
Common group that after a big problem (Civil War, Slaaneshi ascents) broke into various ones:
- conservatives that live somewhat like they used to: Eldar, High Elfs
- New ways that thrive on excess violence on others: Dark Eldar and Dark Elfs
- group that closed themselves from the exterior: Wood Elfs, and Exodites
- group that live with a specific god: Harlequin and Wardancers
The craftworld eldar have some Dark Elf tendancies, their main god is Khaine
and they also do some hedonistic(by human standards) stuff, and some of the craftworlds do some pretty sussy things that the high elves would absolutely abhor, like drinking blood
The Dark Eldar are a lot of Dark elf stuff from WHFB, but they don't worship khaine
what happens to the actual genestealer after it infects the patriarch
Well it's mostly due to it being the last surviving one
Patriarch are the initial Genestealer
i thought the genestealer landed on a planet, then infected a dude and he becomes the patriarch
Nah
the Genestealer is the patriarch
the first infected person just gets their mind controlled/clouded
and they get really horny
Aren't they the 1st Tyranid sent on the planet when they're attacking ?
Not linked to GSC per se
according to wiki they are classed as a genestealer breed
but they arent connected to the cult yes
so Im inclined to assume they are just an elite variant of genestealers
Broodlords are the first genestealer to make planet fall and start cults
No
its just a normal purestrain
broodlords are spawned directly by a hivefleet
As a psudo patriarch
its just a patriarch in a can
also at the end of angel of death, theres like a proper tyranid that awakens
Im pretty sure thats the patriarch, but why was he asleep
i assume the patriarchs just stay in hiding most of the time and get worshipped till its time to go into the open
hmmm my sleep addled brain is fucking me it seems
how tf did I get Broodlords and pats mixed
damn
kelermorph is cool
They’re the same mini and look the same in lore
the aspect of it being a revolutionary hero inspiring the commonfolk to cast off the chains of oppression is pretty funny
Is there a current strongest chaos god or in current era are they about equal?
depends
they are equal usually but they have a cycle where they keep fighting each other for supremacy and rotate through it?
We didn’t get a chaos daemons codex this edition so we dunno
Last we got an update Khorne was on top
Due to the murder curse incident
they do have age difference though, doesnt reflect strength ofc
but nurgle is oldest
slaanesh is youngest
it's weird
technically Slaanesh is the "youngest" but when they were born they started existing throughout all time (iirc)
forgot where this was mentioned
Chaos god age hurts
yeah time doesnt work normally in the warp ig
Chaos daemons codex 4e
Also eldar codex 7e
time is non linear in the warp it's best not to think about it
thank you
how tough is a primus in a fight anyway
A genestealer?
yee
They’re basically the best of the non specialist cult members
Primus trains/learns how to fight
And strategize their entire life
in the angels of death stuff the primus was like soloing terminators
In preparation
Nuffle is always the stronger Chaos God
Primus as in this dude right?
