no excuse needed to send The Wall
tbh I love how like
they pretty much got Coup'd
I was about to ask why did you post the most useless Spider-Man villain who have ever been made as a allegory for a war
after 16 years of fighting
by Alpha Legion and World Eater cultists
i thought you were talking about wall based warfare
legit THE Perfect ending
Its so fucking funny
YEP
also
funniest part of Vraks's marine forces
the world eaters retreated
the alpha legion died to the man

LMAO yeah
my goats
my favorite part with that is
AL say
Dark Angels show up right at the end
ask for salvage rights
MFER YOU DIDNT DO ANYTHING
average first founding chapter moment
look they uh
captured 1 dude
and killed like
some people
clearly they deserve salvage rights
Hey it's like real old people
I mean considering Vraks is Chaos Undiveded ish mostly ...it isn't surprising, the death and destruction was the entire point for the Chaos forces.
As for Imperials...to be fair, better that those munitions were used to damage the planet itself, as opposed to having all those weapons spilling into neighbouring regions causing an even bigger clusterfuck.
It will never happen but I do want Imperium Nihilus to turn into a new Imperium Secundus, it kind of is unofficially since they're really cut off. But like... fuck let something big happen.
Remember when people were screaching about Krieg in the Penal system didn't make sense
Think we discussed this before...Eastern/Western Roman Empire
this is the DKOK poster child regiment
LOL
this is how they go out
in a total rout -> penal legion
100% it's just I have nothing to talk about besides this
I'm bored
whenever someone says the DKOK don't break
simply send that
it is the golden bullet
to any stupid fucking argument about the DKOK being "fearless" and unbreaking
"DKOK don't break!" My brother in the emperor fucking space marines route
everything that can think has a breaking point
same, new desks are great
the only thing that won't rout is servitors, canoptek constructs, specific unsynapsed nids and Tau drones lol
do i get permission to skin them alive if they deny the evidence
something something silence 40k fan I can't read
TBF the "fearless" thing is an ancient holdover from far earlier Editions...
When the two Forgeworld books Guard Regiments (Elysian/Kreig) had superior leadership to normal Guard
everyones fearless and unbreaking except for when they roll bad on leadership
the thing I just posted is from the FW books
they're harder to break != unbreaking
Yea fair
I think thats a weird misinterpretation people always have
marines don't actually know no fear
technically lol
kreig are jaded not lobotomised
Was there even any lore about them being "harder to break" though ?
Talking of SM, their individual logistic is very questionable. Like most marines carries about 150 bolt rounds (per models and arts), so they need constant supply flow if they do it shooting like many chapters. RG chapters are the more on the side of preserving ammo despite their preference. Melee... as we know, it is very smart. Especially when there were squads of SM got deleted by less than a company worth of IG with heavy bolters.
They shall know no fear is a lot better then
They actually can feel fear and they have high tolerance to it but their response is muted and modified to not be as much of an issue so they can operate properly
yeah
Yes, its under the cult of sacrifice stuff
its mostly in regards to them having less morale issues
and being less likely to route/break morale wise
Me watching as the literal avatar of war for the space elves has to roll a battle shock test and lose a test when getting shot with a goblin
and then a few pages later you get the 158th regiment imploding due to horrific morale issues and suffering a total rout due to the horrendous conditions
waiter waiter more horrors of trench warfare instead of le space monster killed le human
the DKOK routed twice in the Vraks IA books and I'd say both were completely reasonable lol
the chemical weapons that melted everything and the earlier one I posted
lol
But anyways back to Vraks.
Whilst the Imperium can be considered to fail the topmost objective (getting weapon stores back), on a strategic level thr conflict was contained on the planet itself.
i mean its possible they have small stockpiles in vehicles/droppods etc, also if sororitas get flying baby ammo carriers i dont see why SM couldnt procure something similar
Shitttt new Path of the Beast lore....
but yeah SM chapters dont seem typically equipped for sustained operations
It wasnt really chaos undivided, all respective god-alligned factions on the planet were doing their own thing for their own reasons and barely working together, just being largely wary of each other while aiming to just sew discord for their own pantheons.
And that ammo was used to supply countless Imperial planets in the neighboring sectors, the war's aim was ALWAYS even by the time the Inquisition got involved was to re-secure the planet due to its logistical supplies. Saying it would be better all that ammo was spent killing imperial force; not even the planet as this took on 1 single land-mass; feels more like a weird in-universe Imperial justification on a report to me
They supposed to, it is likely why not many SM actually do infiltration aside from RG.
If they don't have supply, they are just big targets to get hit.
Eh. Really should try to remember 40k writers don't have the best sense of scale.
My other weird last attempt to explain this would be something to do with how warp routes are pathed and maybe the area around the planet is one of the few stable passageways, but ofc that has nothing to do with the ammo issue.
reading about the first Taros invasion with the Avenging Sons doing a failed decapitation strike on the governers palace was a really good illustration of that ngl, they strike fast and absolutely crush the defenders, but then they stick around because the governer wasnt found and get horribly ground down in the 2 day siege that followed as Tau forces began overwhelming them
When WW2 has a higher death count than the battle of shitfuck 2 where untold billions fought (Only 2 million died)
Re:Marine Chapters ...
With the exception of Ravenguard and Deathwatch, they are really best thought of as strategic spearhead strike groups per se
They are the ones that just crack open the toughest part of the enemy forces
Leaving Guard to "mop up the mess"
The funny thing is that RG chapters always feel fear, because of the number of times they almost got wiped. However, that's why they are more cautious then most others.
tbf i think the problem people have with visualising marines as a surgical strike force is that SM stories tend to focus on characters doing badass things rather than following tight methodical operations
It's just another problem of having so many authors
Ravenguard (+ Successors) and Deatwatch are the two Chapters that can really go into the "super soldier Spec Ops" aspect
All other Chapters are more "hammer in face" linebreakers
DW is spec ops, but RG is reconnaissance.
if in every other story 5 dudebros carve their way through a chaos ridden planet no problem, it can be hard to imagine a company of dudebros getting curbstomped by fish people with guardsman equivelent statlines
Yeah watching a marine fight a carnifex with nothing but a power sword and power shield is more raw awesomeness than watching one sneak about the place
Always find it funny that after BT worked with Raptor, BT realized that having recce providing intel and support is so much smarter than charging head first.
So they become friends...
diversity makes the black templars stronger
This is more a GW compound issue...they designed Marines to look like futuristic Knights and be war focused.
Then they can't decide whether to fully commit to knight role completely, or have the super soldiers with modern tactics and operations.
Ofc some chapters have clearer theme than others but beyond those, it is a coin toss as to how Marines are used.
That was after BT refused the Primaris and killed a Custode.
Saying this in front of a black Templar fan has a chance of you getting skinned alive
thats the joke
No, you just have to say it in front of thr correct ones to avoid death 😉
normals
(Shout to the sane Templar fans we have here)
Unfortunately besides Sigsen and Eli
i have not found another normal black templar fan
Also, heavy bolter carried by SM suched, because their ammo box can only carry about 50 rounds, and even with backpack, 200 rounds max.
So 10 seconds of firepower... which is really bad.
Love 40k scale that is so bad
Assault cannon reduces the up time to 3 seconds.
Hold the button for 3 second, you are done.
Most Sci fi writers not doing math lol
tbf a SM with a bolter and 200 rounds could still beat 201 guardsmen pretty easily, and thats assuming no doublekills from explosives or overpenetration
it's just one of the moments you have to accept
since if you think about it too hard it ruins it
So what you're saying is
For all its science trappings...
40k lore was intended to be understood with the tone of Medieval sagas
Where truth and poetic exaggeration keeps blending together
In a hapless mess
You know the UM vs Tyranids 10e trailer?
Yeah it's in the same category as star wars, which is science-fantasy
imperial guard regiments are literally napoleonic, the setting is very antiquated
i love it
The terminator assault cannon gave up when he got griped because he knows that he is out of ammo soon and being useless anyway.
Lol
40k is very much space fantasy
Nah, dude was still shooting.
Ah ok
legit sometimes you have to suspend your disbelief because if you don't you wont enjoy the setting (Also your brain wont melt when thinking about how the authors fucked up simple things)
just because we have space elves and space dwarfs and space gods and magic and demons and hell and orcs does not make it fantasy... see we have aliens and spaceships
(this is a joke)
Heh.
I mean Science Fatasy kinda just appeals to me a bit more with the guns and space travel TBH
its a lot more distinctive than just another fantasy setting yeah
Not to be an asshat but you know with classical fantasy settings, someone somewhere is always going to ask "oh can I invent gunpowder pls"
weapons don't jam in 40k tabletop wargame even in 3e
I mean a lot of science fiction worlds fit more into the whole "Science-Fantasy" category but like trying to fight very diverse settings into strict boxes is hard
Huh, pretty sure triple ones did something bad back in the day lol.
Oh, did you read the lore of assault cannon and heavy bolter on how they have big spread even for SM? That they are area denial weapons more than to hit things.
...yea sounds like someone not reading up gun terms
And just throwing words in randomly.
tbf the majority of depictions of spacemarines with their bolters are pretty precise with their aim so idk about that
also the power of an explosive shell exploding near a target is not to be underestimated
"So LEET they don't need massive reserves"
no
Well
one of the Ork guns
had something bad happen
but not anything imperial
plasma didn't even overheat back then for imperials
where's the charm in not killing yourself ?
the gun just had to cool off between turns
play CSM if you wana kill yourself
the plasma could fire every turn
rather then every other turn
but it would kill you on a 1 lol
I rather eat glass
GW took that system wholesale in 4e for Plasma in general
because people really liked it ig
With normal bolter and bolt rifles, but on machinegun, not so much.
The Assault cannon is specificly said to be a close range weapon... because they can't hit accurately afar...
tbf in the case of the termies assault cannon, its a weapon typically seen on vehicles rather than used as an individual weapon so even dampened i can imagine it not being particularly practical for precise long range shooting
i cant blame the weapon for the fact that the fleshy arm its strapped to cant precisely control the recoil of a fully automatic autocannon
it was orginally adopted for use in space hulks and hive cities right? In something like a darktide map i could imagine it being devastating
Yes, area denial weapon.
if you define area denial as deleting a corridor and everyone in it then yes that tracks
I would like to see some tracked Dreadnought. More guns and ammo, better travers.
If it is just 200 rounds in the hallway, then any bolter could do really.
making me think of the HK tanks from terminator lol
If the SM uses something like a Volley lasgun as machine gun, it would make more logistical sense.
What just a miniaturized version of this
tbf every other terminator in the squad is going to be rocking stormbolters so you can preserve the assault cannon for specific use cases
i agree only 200 rounds is stupidly limited though, better hope the rest of the squad can carry extra
maybe the reason they dont give dreadnaughts treads is that the human mind cant easily cope with that level of alteration?
would be cool to see attempted though
If the SM was formerly a tanker, it shouldn't be hard. He might even enjoy it.
honourable brother oddball in his custom treaded dred sounds like an awesome conversion model

It also keeps the transportation for the dreadnought easier, and even carry other SM on it.
(ok, to be fair, that thing in Acore 6 is titan level of size and power compare to 40K)
Ah yes frontal armor McGee
Do space wolves or ultramarines get the most BS wins?
kinda reminds me of SCORN
Calgar chocked an Avatar of Khaine...
And they have Titus
Which is one of the most bullshit plot armour dude
Space wolves aren't bullshit but I hate them so they dont ever deserve to win
Not genuine hate they're great heels
They definitely got bullshit
its just not as prominent unless you read their lore, which is a bit more concentrated
Oh they have plenty of bullshit but not as prominent as the other ones yeah
Tbf I only know of prospero and grey knight victories so I definitely shouldnt have opened my mouth I just wanted to shit on them 😁
Prospero win was because Magnus sucks
“We are gonna sit here and let them kill us cause we deserve it :(“
Months of Shame
If the thousand sons actually knew the wolves were coming they would have had a hell of a show, prospero was nuts
Canto Sicarius time
God I love the thousand sons
If Magnus just didn’t suck
Im going through their audio book right now
I am so excited to read the ahriman novel I hope it doesn't reek
Sadly if you made Magnus competent he would be kinda too much for anyone to handle
Is there a good book involving Magnus that I should know about?
I want to absorb thousand sons lore
Cato's decent in recent lore
Malcador could throw planets “safely” into the warp
He got mega ptsd
Imagine what it’s like to throw one unsafely lol
Another fun question
The raven guard. Are they not a super popular faction?
They seem cool but I don’t really hear about them much
They are not
Which they did
Maybe Magnus did
GW wants them to be specialized, and fans don't like them because theye don't do cool shit.
His sons didn’t
4th least popular iirc
For the loyalist
Or was it 3rd
I always thought them and the whitescars were pretty cool
Khan was my favorite primarch
Don’t really know much about corax though
Aside from Edgar Allen Poe memes
WhiteScars and RavenGuard are the opposite side of the same coin.
Its one of the peak examples of how badly written the Heresy is tbh
you can just SEE the writers in the background being like
"ok we need magnus to turn to chaos how do we do it"
White Scar have more potential, it's just that GW doesn't really use them
"idk have him sit out half the battle then get his ass kicked by russ in the finale?"
"brilliant!"
lol
Even Khan and Corax, one is extrovert, the other is introvert. Yet both of them are respected by others.
Chaos primarchs try not to get their ass kicked challenge
And by the end of the HH, both of them are well trusted.
Is khan not an introvert?
He usually does everything by himself and tells people to think for themselves and be individual and independent
Yes, but he tells people, and do things he wants, running all over the places.
Corax... if you don't take time talk to him, he is just there in the corner... being invisible.
Moping*
I think Corvus is cooler then konrad
100%
Konrad kinda just sucks
besides the lightning armour
Corvus needing to find new ways to cope on why his Chapter founded on the idea of liberating the donwtrodden has to serve a literal space nazi empire

its called mental disassociation you're a 40k fan you should know how to do this
As much as I don't want to see more SM stuff, I'd love to see one of the lost SM Legion/Primarch who honest to god just rebuked the Emperor's will and accepted the cost of their defiance.
And seeing part of their Legion conflicted into either following the father they finally found, or the Emperor
It's for...
T H E G R E A T E R G O O D
Same but thats too interesting and not tied directly to a pre-existing tabletop faction ala Loyalists so no dice
Liberated by the 24/7 shift at the soul crushing factory
I love that about them ngl
good job, you liberated this populace from evil generic aliens or evil generic chaos lords.
Now they can go die in Imperial factories instead

there's also the baby crushing factory close by if you want variety
https://youtu.be/8Rpws2tZrNY?si=AQt05LzpX7ig2FEN
me when i realise that my colleagues are beginning to turn into a chaos cult
( it was my first shift )
writing battletech shit really helps me when writing for 40k shit
ehh sorta
until chaos fuckery gets brought up
i can see it, you could probably write a killer imperial knights book drawing on battletech for inspiration
just think of chaos as bad decisions with physically manifested consequences
im glad you know about kaldor draigo now
and i could explain to you the terrible lore
the cool lore
So Psyker powers range from doing simple mind tricks to actual time-manipulation. WTF.
Probably not the most terrifying, but I like the short story in Thousand sons codex, where one sorcerer wanted very powerfull artefact. The catch was, that it was hidden inside heavilly fortified planet. So he reverted the planet back in time, recovered the artefact before the defences were build and left.
Its warhammer
theres no rules for magic lol
literally whatever the fuck the author makes up at that time
also this temporal time travel shit is like THE most basic stuff
Space magic is a weird soup
its like Marvel/Rules
"My character fires a missile at you!"
"Well my sorceror waves his hand and that entire missile disassembles in time then reforms somewhere else inside you and blows up"
so if Gotrek was an engineer before becoming a slayer, did he know Malakai before from his engineering days?
I think he knows him via Snorri's friend Varek's uncle Borek
as much of a joke that likely is, that is exactly how dwarven socitey works in WHF afaik
I'm digging it off the wiki page rn lol
Borek is the guy leading expeditions for Karak Dum, Varek his nephew, who's a friend of Snorri, who's friends with Gotrek
who the hell is Snorri and why did him being mentioned in the adric episode about gotrek and felix make like half the chat start spamming the crying emote?
Not wholesome chungus 😔
Hes a short king
thats all dwarves
Dementia Dwarf

i know the 3 of them got lost in the chaos wastes and thats how he found the axe
i assume something horrible happened to Snorri and Borek
Hes basically a brain damaged (no like literally) pal of Gotrek that was behind one of the reasons on why he went to become a Slayer
its a LONG story, you can look up what happened to him on the wiki i think
"Sister, I think we're going to have to kill this guy"
"sign language for 'Damn'"
I really wish memes using the darktide OST would use a different song
Same
theres so many better options
especially about this
but disposal unit is iconic
The ones from the Gloriana update would work wonders
TTS Kaldor Draigo is probably the best thing that came from the show

"LET ME GATHER MY CHAKRAS SO I CAN ACCURATELY PERFORM THIS NINJA MOVE"
- after failing Psychic check 2x
Unironically Gauntlet might be my favorite song in the game
Its so good
I really like light of the imperium
Immortal imperium
and empires will fall
But waiting to strike + imperial advance is heavenly
I LOVE SONGS WITH A BUILDUP PORTION!!!!
I find the volume 3 songs to be pretty underrated

The Lord’s rave
My two favorite tracks are Warp Traveller and The Gauntlet
The one in the Carnival
Ah yep
The Emperor of Mankind (yes the name of the track) is one of my favourite.
Disposal Unit slaps.
I edited this up in like ten minutes a few months ago, decided to post it.
Has five whole pixels because this was originally meant for discord.
Are there any written instances of a terminator fighting a centurion? Or a centurion vs a dreadnought?
unless its named characters dreadnaught would clear both ez
Y'know
In retrospect
Yes Man is probably the funniest fucking character in Fallout NV
Especially when you do something against his recommendation
Just that severe passive aggressive tone
Although I actually wonder about
Why Yes-Man just really fucking hates the Khans
Like he somehow broke through his purely positive programming just to fucking call them out
When you ask Yes-Man about the Great Khans in Fallout new vegas #fallout #memes #shorts
Like I am 95% sure if Yesman wasn't a... Yesman
He would be like this to the Khans:
one of da booooyysss

tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@br0mbo?lang=en
I never get tired of hearing that soundtrack
Warp traveler, path of trust and uprising in hive tertium are also my favorites but they are not even close to how much I love disposal unit
it always feel good pumping iron to this song in the gym
🗣️ Torrent Fights Back is top tier!

Lol
Amazing how there are only roughly 2,500 editions over the Imperium's 10k is existence
It also means they somehow manage to review the Lex Imperialis once every 4 years if my maths is not off 😶
I interpreted that as the 2348th book in the entire lex
One collection of 2500 or whatever
It’s stated the library that houses the thing is like the vaults of mars
Taking an early look at Wh40k mechanicus 2 via a prologue demo provided to me by the games publisher ahead of the games launch sometime later this year.

so i know some iron hands become like fully robot on occasion but the ones that still have bits of meat could they still function w both of their geneseed removed
and to add on could that mean iron hands could in theory be the best chapater to pump out marine get a single marine up to age then send them striaght to robot mode and have two geneseed to make two more etc etc
That kinda defeats the purpose of being a space marine to most astartes at that point.
so no
key to most
also would their ever be any situation where ghoulieman would remove the 1000 limit cap
I think a couple of first founding chapters would probably become legions before guilliman commanded it
and dark angels are a legion already
so are wolves
i think part of the issue is the augmetics that the IH use are super precious and ancient etc etc, they cant just augment every brother out the wazoo
or yeah they probably would cause that would pwn
i dont think thats ever been discussed in the lore tbh, whether 99% augmented astartes actually need the gene seed any more
isnt the gene seed stored in the brain or something? in which case i dont think there is the option of removal while theyre still alive
smiliarly with thre removal of the brain, even the super augmetic ones still have their brain
idk, interdasting
i thought it was stored like in the neck or right under it maybe
their are some that are entirely mechanical kind of bordering heretek lvls of bullshit
The Keys of Hel are seals placed on forbidden technologies from the Dark Age of Technology or of alien origin by Ferrus Manus, the Primarch of the Iron Hands Space Marine Legion.[2]
the lex is better i forgor

Lord Admiral Invicta drops another banger video.
Do you need to charge chainswords? Or like, refuel them? They have an exhaust vent so like, do they have a whole ass engine in there?
The funny thing about mechanical augment is that, while it is stronger than flesh, it is not invincible and it eventually wears. With all of the advantage of the biology that used SM augment, they can keep regenerate energy and minor damages by absorbing nutrition... aka eating. Especially on the field where parts are not aways available.
It is a trade off rather than straight upgrade like the IH people want you to believe.
Yes it has an engine yes you need to refuel it
and to activate it you just need to click the handle
There's an item called 'Chainsword' in Warhammer total war, and it made me wonder if chainswords ever lost their ability to be chainsaws
They kinda lose all functionality if you run out of fuel
Chaos ones at least have actually bladed tips or hooks
the one in total war seems to be magical
so you just have to think
And the teeth will begin spinning
Yeh the item description calls it a daemon weapon, so its not the same type of chainsword
But I did wonder how OP someone could be if they were just dropped into Medieval society with one
ya, they are kept secret tho cause of uber heresy
Not really, it just becomes a serrated blade
Still plenty lethal
and also very few are made into helffathers
iirc they basically just guard medusa and guard some other shit
first pointy chainsword iv ever seen
I mean, the teeth aren't particularly big, they don't fix in place and its wildly heavy?
Outside of a bludgeon I don't think its particularly good without the chainsaw aspect
i wonder if they got to see any notable action during 10th black crusade
The teeth are still there and are serrated as well as sharp, it would still do tons of damage
it just loses its motorized cutting aspect, otherwise its pretty dangerous
hell one of the chainaxes you use in darktide literally has an inactive/non-motor attack swing cycle
But they wouldn't. You'd hit something and the teeth would be dragged with your skin, maybe digging in a little but not cutting or tearing. All the none-charged up attacks in Darktide still have a rev to them
You can hear it every time you swing
Yeah but its still not moving at max speed as you activate it
That was a later change I think lol
Still better than an inactive, loose chain of teeth
I think early on it only revved when you heavy attacked and you were just beating them to death with the hull
Nah yeah thats still the same
heavy attack activates the rev
otherwise it just slowly moves the teeth
Nah I remember there always being a rev noise when you attacked
Its nowhere near as noticable compared to the charge up, but you're not just smacking people with a chainsaw shaped bat
for most of them you very much are
like, its a chainsword
it still cuts, its made to be lethal in any manner
I have 2 Chainsaw man tattoos
Chainsword
Here's old Darktide footage for the chainsword
You can hear it
Its subtle but you can hear the engine rev every time you swing, its just quieter on the light attacks
If I know anything an angled serrated heavy club it's still pretty good at doing the job
The teeth are fixed in place
That is the difference
Afaik chainsword teeth edges tend to be monomolecular, I can't imagine it takes much to puncture with that
yeah so imagine a metal and angled serrated club
Maybe? But like, whenever you swing with it, the teeth are going to want to push away from the target, not dig into it regardless of how sharp they are
Especially with teeth that shape
Unless they're locked in place when not being pulled by the motor
Which I don't think they are
Probably
There is literally no other point to dumb sci-fi weapons than to discuss them with strict seriousness
It's a sword that has blades sharpened to a molecular edge
That is like classic sci-fi bullshit
since cadia had ya know the thing happen whats abbadona likely next target for a black crusade
Just seems like a simple mechanic to have a trigger which activates the motor also release a lock so it can be use both powered and not
Terra. Always has been and still is.
Read the lore.

is it just like a straight shot to terra since no cadia now or
Its about weakening the defenses around/surrounding it then going for it
which is gonna take forever, aka perfect plot excuse for narrative limbo
It's literally just this limbo of The Imperials getting new planets and chaos getting new planets
both of them losing some planets into a perfect balance somehow
yeah well failbaddon no arms 1 billion failed black crusade, owned nerd
yea so like what would be a probable next place after cadia we all know hes trying to go to terra
Who fucking knows
hes a literal supervillain
he does what the writers tell him to do
lol
next thing you know he could be making his own tesseract
the next finding ways to make a giant titan that eats people
Random planet GW makes up for a campaign is next
i hope you stub ur toe
According to some map I found
Raven Guard haven't been mentioned in a while, he should blow up their homeworld
Raven Guard have had it too good for too long
you could never hurt a sneal
Nah that was me kicking you
into the lexicanum pit you go
🫡
maybe he should go back to medusa for round 2 and put me out of my misery of hoping the iron hands get anything ever
second fav is nightlords and theyre semi afterburner aswell
👉 🇱
u smell of ultramarine
Vampire Marine supremacy
Nassit Amit the goated
iron hands are actually cool as fuck dil
its time to face it
the cyborg marines are cool
the most gimmicky to me are white scares (space mongolians ok)
followed closely by space wolfs (space vikings)
Knights in space are my fav
tbf most chapters are just one well written book away from being popular
Anyone here ever played the Ghostrunner games?
It might have a brake so when it is inactive, the chain doesn't stay loose. It is a feature in many pieces of equipment.
Also, a jig saw like chain would cut metal much better than whatever the stupid chain sword design is in 40k.
A band saw*
Also since the chain rotates... For some fucking reason they cover the other side of it, so you can only cut with one side... Just dumb.
They cover the backside because when you clash with another chainsword they both get flung and you'd be liable to cut yourself in half lol
More seriously, like real single edged swords it probably adds strength to the blade
It is true for normal blade, but for chainsaw, you need a guide bar in the middle anyway, which provides strength. Also to keep the chain from collapsing inward.
Plus it means it gives you a flat surface to push on with your other hand to apply more pressure
Games Workshop puts together the worst Combat Patrol ever. Asked to leave the Iron Hands fandom alone.

I love my woke orks❤️
This was a funny thing and connects to another point on how orks really do not understand gender
my warhammers..... woke..... pronoun..........
Ikor the grot goat
I can hear multiple fat, bald headed streamers yelling about pronouns right about now
same book also where valtun asks "how do humies make more humies?" and grotsnik says "its disgusting you dont wanna know"
"even before skinstealers are involved"
yeahhh that part
to be fair ork reproduction is very efficient
So I can kind of understand why the Mad Dok reacted like that
The Dok knowing how human reproduction works is more surprising
i mean I'm not surprised grotsnik is really into experimentation
do orks even need like nutrients when they grow in the ground
ahh neat
how longs that usually take
but going back to this he's definitely the type to improve on orks using other bits of non ork
not really given an exact number unfortunately
The beast's hiding spot, hidden under a pile of surface shrooms
wonder if someone in the imperium every thought of cultivating the orks and harvesting before they sprout out as food or something
sounds way too risky
I'm sure they're edible
well that is suicide
nothing new to the mechanicus
You could just raise another type of creature that is gonna provide the same tasty type of meat and not get your throat ripped out
the wolf with the endearing grin
Hmm, a Scion novel
huh These ones are more green
I thought they would have went with the classic bluish look
Must be regiment specific
might be yeah
Odd we're not getting a Votann Battleforce
I thought they were from the Rhoin Cobras but the highlight is different
"the Scions of First Eradicant squad" is what it says in the WarCom post
Huh, the author has previously written a short story called Eradicant, possibly related
Was about to say
And it's also scion story
Different livery (If we take the cover at face value)
I guess the author just likes that word
Shorts don't usually get their own art, so it may have just used a stock image
true
I didn't assume the "First Eradicant Squad" would be their formations name since it doesn't follow the same naming conventions as literally ever other scion formation/regiment
Yea it's probaly just their role/squad within the regiment
It's most likely a new regiment made for the book
the closest I could find is the Rhoin Cobras but no dice
yeah maybe that
Uhhh its a bit of a weird question but thought I'd ask here
Darktongue hasnt been translated into a font you can use has it?
I know the cipher,but I mean like a downloaded OTF / TTF
I don't think so?
Its somewhat translated
I know some of the scribbles in Darktide have been translated, but not all
I just need it for some assets, instead of drawing each letter it'd be easier if there was a downloadable font pack
to just type out
Mustash Phraagh has not been translated for example
Dunno if one exists atm sadly
Are you talking about the language?
if it's a downloadable font then it's not really a thing
Yeah
this but put into a TTF so each letter on your keyboard would type out the glyph like any other font like wingdings and such
It wouldn't matter if each letter isn't strictly identital, so A can be Aa and captial A could be Ar for example
The usecase here is the utility of getting easy glyphs than hand drawning each and making sure that they're neat
Might just have to be a project that I do myself
Yeah was gonna say
I have a new meme to make fun of imperium glazers
Oh, do show
Damn I dont get it
It’s from a Chinese propaganda news network
Ohhhh I see
the idea is eventually I can have most of the streams text be in dark tongue for followers/subscriptions I though it'd be cool to go with my daemonhost aesthetic
Ngl thought it was Japanese from the woman's clothing
She's Korean?
Well you do have these separated letters as the best you can get for the words but unfortunately there's no downloadable font
this helps though thank you! 👍
She is?
She does look more Korean than Japanese tradition.
Ohh didn't know that
So its a North Korean propaganda network or a Chinese one that so happens to have a NKer as the host?
She's one of the anchors for Pyongyang’s KCTV
I see
Storm troops are employed in company size of around 100-200 guys, so if one gets wiped, it is not that surprising.
I FOUND IT
"Troublesome Scions who have disciplinary problems or fail to follow orders are grouped together into their Regiment's Eradicant Formations. Composed of individual squadrons, they are given names like First Eradicant and so on. The Eradicant Squadrons are then given extremely difficult missions to accomplish,"
Specifically from the Eradicant short story written by the guy who's doing the new novel
So troublemakers huh
ur completely right I got my dictatorships mixed up
It’s North Korean propaganda
which matches the synopses given to us
i see we will see if the short story and the novel is connected then
@rocky gale found the source of the Eradicant Squad name
It's from the Short story (surprising wow) but it also tells us what they do
Glad we're finally getting more Scion stuff cause holy fuck is it annoying to find anything
The cover is old art
The short story art work?
Ye
drago moments before valdor finally makes his return and bisects him
Inb4 chuds shit and fart themselves to death because woman x2 and poc x2
Nearly certain the imperial palace has some anti teleportation measures
WOMA?????

I HAY S DAWOMAN
Oh I just thought it was a twink
Iirc diversity, equality and inclusivity
No wonder conservatives hate it
It's like a chant against them
A seal

sneal
Kesh's blood games victory was based on her trying to teleport a cyclonic torpedo into the throne room
that could just be a case of a "try"
But considering it was considered a victory there's a chance something from that plan could have worked
the throne room explictly does have teleportation protection
but her plan being considered a victory could mean parts of the palace don't have that same protection
and would have ended in the emperors death(maybe)
I think that the terminus decree would also give Grey Knights teleportation permission
Somehow

I think their best solution
would to literally be to teleport Titan
into terra
or at least something along those lines lol
enough psykers can teleport planets
Nah
Clearly they need to cover the Emperor in Sister of Battle blood
Kesh switched out the terminus decree

Every time I hear “her” in reference to custodes it makes me smile
anyways her blood games victory is
Because I know somewhere a chud is crashing and burning
probably one of the most batshit insane ones
considering they usually are done via infiltration/carving a path/causing an actual fucking rebellion
Wouldn’t a cyclonic torpedo anywhere on terra be wraps?
Maybe?
She was specifically targeting the palace complex/area around it
which is whats interesting about her plan
I like the idea of after the games
All the Custodes are like
"Bro WHAT THE FUCK-"
the blood games are deranged and insane
Tbh after Kesh's victory I'm sure some other custodes will try to copy and modify it
the same way they copy Valdor/other past victors
Realistically you only need the torpedo close by
Also I mentioned this somewhere but the custards, especially recently, don't have a super amazing track record lol
the who
I really like this artists depiction of star child, the imperium doesnt deserve them
god I hate when people draw the emperor as a child due to that Starchild shit
always gives me creepy vibes lol
Aren't the custodes back up to 10k by now? I haven't checked in so long
hold on
they are
yeah and probably more
they dont have a recruitment limit + constantly take new boys/girls
They were back up to 10k then dropped down below it
and now its a ??? as to their numbers
but Imo below 10,000
considering the GSC incident
along with them just fighting mroe now
the what
was that recently
still not enough to win i'm guessing
We dont know if it dies
Well
its left open ended
They're prob just around 10k either above or belove since the latest date we have is just the vague "41M"
Imagine the hive mind just staring at the GSC on Terra
To be honest it is literally the perfect breeding place for GSC
extremely cramped and a lot of people
Yeah
Gas the hives
kill billions
lol
that was the PDF and Old 100's solution
It did work
not great though
Decisive imperium victory
I mean it did kill a lot
and there's like 50 gorillion forgotten subterranean buildings
but it also didn't kill enough lol
and now you're stuck fighting GSC
in environments filled with toxic gas
which means low visability

can't the GSC adapt to that by just evolving their population in some way
no
Those were more resiliant to the gas
the point was to kill all the hybrids/humans
which
didn't work either
they just killed a lot of them
Would the GSC on terra be interested in infecting the Emperor's body?
what body?
His corpse on the throne
Well, kinda corpse
What happen if a Psyker get kissed ?
Well, the Terminus Decree is probably not just a postit note.
If they're to use it then they'll probably have a laid out plan by Malcador, and possibly even something that is to be shown to the Custodes telling them how they're to act (Like a notarised note against someone that has dementia)
Ok but where's the coping and meme making in that
Yeah honestly i even forgot it existed because it's literally apparently so important but they
Did not talk about it until this point
Yeah it's probably better it stayed like some forgotten thing people bring up once in a while
How people are yammering about it
Also doesn't help it was shown to us via a leak right?
which always makes this type of info worse
Yeah like it's very specific
Gonna be controversial here
I think it's fine
Also it would be mad funny if this happens
"Guys, the Tyranids are finally attacking the Solar System!"
"Open the decree now!"
opens the decree
I dunno, I just find this drama to be a nothing burger
"Please kill me lol - Emps"
"...oh wait there's another paper below this"
"Also kill all Space Marines - Emps"
Tbh I always thought that the decree is just a series of plans
Like
"In case X threatens Terra do Y"
Mainly because I can believe the Emperor is enough of a paranoid MF to make a hundred page document detailing plans for different scenarios
A lot of the people complaining are annoyed that the decree isn't what they thought it would be, which was "Kill all Primarchs and Space Marines" which is so much dumber
Should've went further, "Kill all humans"
I wish
its such a braindead circlejerk too
im fucking sick of it
hope it dies already
Like it's much more feasible for 1000 Grey Knights to fight the Emperor than to fight every Space Marine in the entire universe
Also the fact that
Most likely it's gonna be an outside force
Why would you kill your own forces

Maybe a dumb question but why would the emperor try to prevent himself from getting healed or reincarnating
Again, either way, whoever opens the terminus decree in case of a widespread invasion of Terra would be severely disappointed
"Oh no there's an invasion of Orkanids!"
It’s not him
"...the plan just says to kill all Space Marines"
The emperor is
Not the same person anymore
In the case of ascension he’s likely exploding into a new chaos god
Which he explicitly will turn into one
At some point in time
Yea 10 thousand years trapped to a torture chair, fed constant souls
Due to the existence of Samus
Beyond just the emperor being completely batshit insane, and fractured
Again, personal idea is that the Terminus decree is a list of plans
The reveals are basically just
Ahh i see
I don't think it's a "Open in emergency situation" thing, it's just the Grandmaster reads it upon reaching the office
The entirety of the imperium prolly couldn’t stop the ascension of the emperor into a chaos god
lol
1000 Grey Knights vs a literal Chaos God
Completely fair match up
Also tbf it's like how the US Government makes plans
I think there's one for a fucking zombie apocalypse for some reason
Again, I think the Terminus decree is just an entire book of
"If X do Y"
"If Horus Heresy 2, release virus that kills sphess Martinez and Prime-Arcs"
"If my ass gets out of those throne, stab me a bunch of times"
Etc.
"if bro starts yapping about black templars in front of 10/10 baddies at the function, chuck him into the astronomican"
i like to think there's a sweaty custodian with a shovel just throwing people into a comically gold furnace, steam train style
Okay so this is a genuine question.
How independent can Custodes thoughts be
Like I definitely know they can't outright quit their duty to the emperor or betray the Emperor.
But like can they think back and say
"Man... The Emperor was an asshole."
Or at least think privately to themselves.
Like can they have differing opinions about the Emperor?
Or will they all activate glazing mode

Yes
they can think the Emperor was a dumbass/asshole
but they will all ultimately think he's correct
its like being gaslit as hard as fucking possible lol
So in some world if the emperor just fully went chaos god mode, would custodes just kinda fuck with it? Think he is still fighting for humanity in his own way and therefore cool?
We don't know if there's some sort of delination between the Custodes's hard wired genetic coding and the emperors ascension
like at what point is he no longer considered the emperor
Pretty funny if there's something as simple as "The Emperor is the guy in the chair" so the moment he stands up they just go "Who the fuck is that guy"
Jokes aside its ultimately a philisophical question of how The Emperor + those original genesmiths programed
that bit of thing lol
It's definitely a bit of lore that is interesting enough to where I never would have expected it to be a custodes thing
I like that
the Custodes lore is pretty interesting
imo
since Gene alchemy is so weird
we don't even know what happens when it fails lol
likely something horrific to the baby
I enjoy the gene crafting aspect and super human things but I just can't get behind them for power scaling reasons it just annoys me
Too corny for me personally
tbh I just wonder wtf they do to the baby lol
considering they say they're reconstructed lol
like wtf does reconstructed mean
do they shove the baby in a blender?
but the stuff surrounding the Imperial household is whats most interesting to me
its basicially its own culture seperate from the rest of the Imperium
dear god
🫡
Leia is overpowered, pls nerf
So basically would it basically be equivalent to
"Okay so he treated his sons poorly, he made several decisions in his great crusade that fucked over the Imperium, and never even considered a more solid plan in case of death."
'...but he did try his best. So I guess it's fine?"

We're all doing our best
Tbh I am asking this because I want to have an Eyes of the Emperor character
AKA a retired Custodes
Basically reminisce about his time with the Emperor
And how looking back, the Emperor made a lot of mistakes
Do custodes retire?
And might not have been the best for mankind
Kind of
The Eyes of the Emperor are a sect of the Adeptus Custodes.
More like switching to a less difficult job because they're getting old or something
And also not wanting to put themselves inside a dreadnought
Understandable but custodes dreadnaught are the best kind
Basically James Bond on crack
Stories about Custodes doing spy stuff are always cool as hell
Tbf the injuries to disable range from lime
Losing limbs
To
"My reaction speed is 0.01 Ms slower. I must retire."

I stubbed my toe. Put me in the box.
Tbf Custodes are one of the few times where
"The flesh is weak" is wrong
Mechanical limbs or organs for them is basically a downgrade
So even if they get any. It's still a downgrade
Yeah, as far as gene engineering goes, they're basically perfect.
Had an idea where an Eye of the Emperor acts as a "Ab-human (don't ask what species)" Weapons dealer.
Basically a similar role to the RE4 Weapons Merchant. Helps that the Eyes of the Emperor outfit includes a black cloak
But we don't need perfect, we need mass produced. And thunder warriors are a bit too unstable but world eaters and night lords are fine
It's half a cover job, half "I genuinely like this new job"
He actually likes selling and making weapons and shit
Unfortunately he happened to get stuck on a planet that went to shit and is now basically a free for all
But similar to the RE4 Weapons dealer. He's still there and god damn he will get his fucking business
Somebody out there needs an upgrade to their gun and they're gonna be able to purchase it at a slight discount
I had an idea where he basically tells the story of the Emperor fighting Horus.
But instead he simply refers to the emperor, Horus, etc. as like "Captain" and "The Captain's son". Because part of his cover story is that he was a guardsman
Gonna have the Sister of Battle say "Damn that Captain sounds like a loser" or something
And the Eye of Emperor character basically makes this expression:
👁️ 👁️
9' tall guardman telling SoB stories... that's funny to imagine.
And to be fair, most of the SoB don't even know the big E, so if they meet a living big E, they would think that he is a heretic. Isn't there a book about that and sets as origin for the while dyed hair of the SoB.
It would be framed as something like:
"My Cap'n was an interestin character. He had the mind of a genius. Knew how to command a room with his mere presence.
But he was flawed. He expected his sons to be similar to him me thinks. Cold, calculatin, and ruthless. Honestly, I'm not sure he loved em because they were his sons or because they would've continued his glory."
Tbf Big E probably isn't Big E anymore
So
They technically aren't hypocrites

Also
Fun fact
Terry Pratchett won many book writing competitions
While he was EIGHT YEARS OLD

Is 40k (the game) canon to the 40k universe?
Depends
There was a large game campaign that had story consequences
And generally the factions fighting each other are plausible
But the rules definitely don't apply to the actual in game lore
I meant like, is there a game called warhammer that humans of the 2nd millenium once played
Nah, however there is a very similar sounding game called Battlemace 40 million in universe
