But their preferred weapon was the pyroclast flame projector
Lmfao
which was not humane
god these models look like shit htough
because its a flamethrower
and because its designed to use a volatile mix of chemicals
that are highly volatile and toxic
peak
The smoke they produce is insanely toxic and acidic
also it can serve as a melta as well
what are some other 'too evil to live' parts of loyalist chapters
Mfw this was my entry 2 the hobby
Space sharks were exiled Terran legionaries. The remaining Terran legionaries for the Raven guard got slowly killed off because of how much they enjoyed torture, slavery Ect.
yee, and there is the other raven guard space pirates
Yeah the ashen claws
Though those weren’t all Terran legionaries
The space sharks were explicitly a massively problematic group
lmao
In terms of their behavior
I mean
Cutting out all your prisoners tongues
And enslaving them is uh
Not kosher by RG standards lol
The Nemesis’s for the ultramarines were just a bunch of psychos who loved death and suffering and were also the ultramarines destroyers. Guilliman hated them and essentially never used them till the heresy broke out and they really really really enjoyed killing other marines.
Anyways they survived the heresy and formed their own chapter
The Nemesis chapter(really creative I know)
Where they continue to be a bunch of psychopathic mass murdering assholes
Who really really really like massacres
peak
Blood angels had the surviving Terran legionaries who rejected sanguinius’s reforms on cannibalism and succession who continued the whole, kill all survivors and eat them policy and forcing new marines to ritualistically eat older dead ones to pass on the entire marines mind to the next. They were basically being slowly hunted down throughout the great crusade until the heresy broke out and their “unique” training methods found use in getting more marines for the meat grinder
They ended up becoming the flesh tearers and flesh eaters
Imperial fists had no one because imperial fists are the most boring chapter in existence/j
No but seriously they had nothing like this
Iron Hands had the Red Talons who were again, a bunch of psychopathic mass murdering assholes
They dropped a moon
On an allied force of other marines and Solar auxilia
While they were also on said planet
"Mfw this was my entry 2 the hobby"
I agree, BT are boring.
decrepit
bro do your bones creak when you stand up
What bone is there to crack?
(as an extra thing, these are all considered mass murdering psychos by the standards of the mass murder psychos)
Every time
Is there any new too evil to be loyalist chapters since the primaris came about?
Marines malevolent are still around and still being evil iirc
For some reason, the Covent of fire comes to mind, but I don't know if there are that evil.
Black vipers murder anyone who dig into their activities including the salamander chaplain sent to teach them the promethean creed
Weird.
Hold on I got a hilarious one

I meant kill the chapter
Dont do it, they are based!!!
New question because of this conversation. Where the hell did the Libators come from in the ultramarines legion.
Ultramar eaters
The Libators spawned likely from one of the fringe predator fleets or some other less connected group
that wasn't a core chapter
Also their culture may have developed over time post split
What if the Bringers of Justice found weakness in their ranks? Would they just kill themselves?
10,000 years is a long ass time
no because they aren't citizens
Therfore they only need to purge the one weak member
(the answer is hipocracy)
Make me chapter master and I'll make it happen
i heard cassia properly built would ruin the game and that’s why i didn’t want to look up a guide for her
This lung cancer sucks but man I fucking love torching civilians too much to stop
I personally just made my own build and it turned out powerful
Just because I took the time investment to read literally every talent first though
I was salty because the game asked me if I was sure I wanted to try above the medium difficulty
Tooting its own horn like "The game is PLENTY hard already trust me bro"
And I get to a major boss fight and fucking collapse him first turn
I got a dumb question based on Star Trek. If one of the dead primarchs got brought back to life, but only had memories of the imperium before Horus turned traitor and the legions being split into chapters, who would anyone pick?
Knowing how to read is really a pro gamer ability.
Revive one of them for what though?
Making Chaos stronger? Apharius.
And loyalist?
I think fulgrim
So there could be 3 of him
Either Dorn or Sanguinius
Dorn might not be dead
Id bring back horus lupercal
They say to revive one of the dead one... Fulgim is not...
Tocmake the inquisition schismcevencworse
Unless it says they died, they're definitely alive waiting until GW brings them back
Even if they're dead, they might come back
And then you try to correct me on Dorn... which used to be dead... he still is, but used to, too.
Didnt dorn just vanish
Sans hand
What exactly is going to happen with Vulkan and Daddy Emps at the heat death of the universe?
Or do those just not count anymore since we have the warp just putting more energy into the universe
Dude tried to do solo, his boys tried to save him, found nothing but a hand.
Yeah I realize I read it wrong and swapped to horus
i tried to go to the difficulty above normal and the chaos spawn in the intro kicked my face in and i immediately went back down
To make a schism in the inquisition
Horus before he fall... seeing the current state of the imperium, he would join the Imperium, lol.
nah it’s always a black templar fan
With an army of horusian inquisitors
Mortifactors are a white based chapter
Because their planet has no sun
Also they wear skulls and therefore are white
Meanwhile, Manus might join with Fulgrim...
Doubt it...
This paint scheme fucks
I like the layout
Reminds me of Clan Wolf's beta galaxy scheme
except reversed
with a colored top and steel bottom
I love my color blocking
This fucks
Wolf clanner spotted
except lamenters
It partially feels weird because I'm like
"Holy shit how did we find any of this funny"
I like inbetween
If that makes any sense
Like I don't like the Malevolent because despite how funny they are
Uh
That's all their shtick is
"Wow you're a dick. Amazing."
I do like the Minotaurs cause they got more than just being absolute assholes
Also because we can agree that stealing is aweso-
what the fuck is that 😭
The funniest Blood Angels
Sent to stop a brewing Imperial civil war and decide the best way to end a civil war is to get one side to nuke the other
Everything is solved in a few hours for the measly price of nuclear armageddon and 40 billion dead
But oh no our honour, we attacked Space Wolves once
imperium casualty counts puts feudal china to shame
As it should
"Planetary Governor goes to the toilet"
"20 million civilians die"
(the toilet was inefficient and flooded the underhive which is also the sewage system)
Dire Wolf, 100 ton assault Clan Omnimech
doesnt look 40k at all
oh word
Battlepeak
Something about mechs, don't know what it is, I rarely think they look good
Just generally or BT specifically?
Generally, Crimson Typhoon from Pacific Rim gets a soft pass
Based and uncommon linebacker gigachad spotted
That one up there was armed with 8 medium heavy lasers
I love my timby
3x ER-PPC 2x ER-ML and 2x LRM-15
Hive MFS be like
Clans is more restrictive about internals
Scorpion Empire supremacy part 530
It was the hero Cherbi from MWO: 1 UAC-20, 2 SRM-6s with Artermis, and 3 small pulse lasers
I wanna brawl so bad.....
😭 i just came across it myself
I want to find some cursed 40k figurines
For shits and giggles
Le.me find some photos
Bro I had a stormcrow with a cluster of 5 or 6 ER-ML solely for headsniping
...
💀
that thing was ravenous
Damn the Stormcrow can carry all that?
I used it a few times
Oh yeah
Just the base chassis with like 2 heavy medium lasers and 3 ER mediums
Don't do Chaos kids.
The stormcrow is perhaps my favorite medium in the setting
its just a tank
Only the phoenix hawk comes close for me
This Stormcrow literally cannot overheat on tabletop which i find hilarious
Favorite clan medium is either the Hunchback IIC, the Nova, or the Ice Ferret
And finally
Ice Ferret is a funny brawler
"I'M THE TRASH MAN"
He got his wings for his duty....
The Nova is particularly funny
especially in mechwarrior
Its great
Definitely the easiest mech to hand to noobs, as long as you tell them about weapon cycling
x12 ER-ML is... definitely a loadout lmfao
Its just putting one arm to 1 and the other to 2 and you should be okay
Otherwise, fuck everything in front of you and yourself
I wish heavy lasers were easier to boat
God you know I'd boat those on everything if I could
I boated a shit ton of those in my direwolf
Something like three per arm plus a medium laser
I really wanted to boat heavy large lasers onto a Warhammer IIC
So x6 ER-LL, x4 ER-ML, x3 S-SRM6
Yeah, especially with backup, youre kinda fucked if you over position though
I imagine
That's the clan mech problem though
I was in love with the warhammer, but my piloting skills were poor
so I kept getting my arms blown off
😦
I saw "70 tons" and "warhammer" ans somehow though I could pull my grasshopper shenanigans
I could not, in fact, pull grasshopper shenanigans
Just use the calvary mechs like Gargoyle or Summoner (or Grand Summoner if you count that)
Garg is overlooked
On BT its apparently really cheap
So thats cool
MWO, its definitely a meme
Funny meme though
^
My favorite heavy though
Gas gotta go to the ebon jag
Jag
though...
Its kind of a toss up
I got one loaded with 2 LBX-2s and 2 ATM-3s
Those are pretty cool
I love my fast heavy hitters
I enjoy fast fellas for some reason
The black lanner is my secret passion
If I could make my Charger go faster for any reason, I'd take it
I love that over engined piece of shit
I LOVE OVER-ENGINED PIECES OF SHIT
In mercenaries, I love refitting my chargers more sensibly and turning them into close ranged brawlers with SRMs med lasers and autocannons
My AI pilots are so good with them for some reason
Me using the equipment mods to turn my 80 ton piece of shit to an 80 ton piece of shit with MASC, Supercharger, reinforced armor, and a giant battleaxe
Until you have seen an 80 ton Charger turn on MASC and sprint down your light mechs, you have not known fear
What a based feature of the Charger: charging down small mechs to terrify them
God I love that thing
Unironically a good way to use the Ice Ferret
Chasing down Locusts never felt so good
Im looking back at the Cherbi and ouuuughhh....
Capellan affiliated?
Oh my guild? I left that a while ago and Ive been lone wolfing it
I wasnt really using the guild for anything so I was fine with it
I am a weird person
This is obvious to anybody who is a frequenter here.
And one of my weird fascinations is with
North Korea
For some reason the DPRK is something that I research
I don't know why my neurodivergent autistic ADHD ridden ass decided to hold onto that as a topic instead of
Idk
Math
Science
Something productive
But hey
Did you know that they have a bootleg Godzilla which is based on a Korean Mythological creature called Pulgasari.
It's a rare case where people know more about the movie's background instead of the actual movie. But tbf it is also wild.
It could be seen as a criticism of the Kim Regime that the Director sneaked in there
Which proves that any dictator has
Zero media literacy
Actually that goes for most fascist or communist supporters
North Korea culture is so weird
It... 100% is
Its very sheltered and basically a time capsule in its own right
On one hand it is obviously horrific
And
Cruel
But on the other hand, it's a time capsule into like
1900's communist regimes
If it wasn't actually real. It would've been cool as a fictional book or something
But it is real which just makes it really depressing
Mhmmm
And the worst bit is even after that regime dies off
Those people are mostly programmed to follow that dictatorship
Listening to the defector stories is just
Like, I believe it is important. But at the same time, only watch it on like
The day time
With a dog or something to cuddle with
Because it instantly ruins my day every time I watch them
There does exist outside media smuggled in
Despite threat of execution
In fact, the executions imply it is a problem.
Apparently it's illegal to listen to K-Pop
Didnt they have a K-pop concert in NK like a couple years back
Yeah they uh
contradict themselves a lot
Y'know doublethink?
Yeah that applies to North Korea
NK is 99% rules for you but not for me.
Even their fake historical narratives are inconsistent
Kim is actually trying to make himself look slightly less than a God.
Only slightly though
In that he actually does
Shit.
mindblowing IK
Does he really do anything though, aside from sending NK civvies to Russia for a variety of reasons?
Also y'know the director for the Godzilla bootleg?
He and his wife actually recorded conversations and stuff with Kim Jong Il.
And it's... actually pretty interesting.
He hated all of the cult of personality shit he had to do.
He was also delusional enough to think that the Director and his wife
who he had
kidnapped btw
and sent to a labor camp for a bit for punishment
were friends with him
Like he thought of them as friends.
Because their careers were kinda failing. That's how he managed to kidnap them in the first place.
By faking an interview for a new opportunity
But now they were the most famous directors in North Korea!
Considering it sounds from this conversation its one of the few times he can just be himself, I cant blame him feeling that way
Living lavishly!
It sounded like he was lonely at the top
It reminds you that even the worst dictators
Are human.
...
and that just makes them even more rephrensible.
Oh yeah btw, he's actually complaining about how Russia is treating his soldiers.
Mainly because Russia sends any foreign soldiers out as uh
cannon fodder
Thats just most of their soldiers
well yeah
but anybody who isn't Slav is the cannon fodder... for the cannon fodder
Basically the penal legions for the guardsmen
Not even, people outside of the rich important whiter cities? Used as meatshields
Yes, it is fucking hypocrite from Kim.
Hypocritical 100%
But also speaks to how Russia treats it's soldiers
How the fuck do you make a dictator of a feudalist state complain about how you're treating their soldiers?
Like, say, in 2nd Indo-Chine war, Vietnam did use the human wave tactic, literally because there were nothing else that we can do.
That must mean that shit is bad
And we don't dismiss that, because it would be disrespectful to lie to those who fallen.
Oh yeah in both a slightly sad, but honestly mostly funny story.
Some guy in America moved to Russia because America was too woke
...
he was drafted for the ukranian war, he apparently thought he could get in as a war photographer.
His wife put out a video that got taken down by the Russian Government
Classic and Ive been hearing a couple stories that are similar
Apparently now his wife is also drinking away the pain while the husband most likely is dead
Owning the liberals ig
💀
I would have sympathy but I'm drained out
Mine got drained in only 6 months of his presidency
I cant blame ya
also Mike Johnson shutted the US House until September to avoid any Epstein list release vote
no corruption in the slightest
anyways that's enough politics
Been playing Terraria recently
Whoever made the Old Ones event as grindy as it is should be fired
jesus
also trying to get 100% achievements
not really for any reason
just want to
ew
nope totally nothing to see here, move along citizen
Also
Tzeentchian cultists be like:

Kairos made a YT channel
Also ofc the negative video has literally 2x the views
God dammit algorithms
i mean it's jonah
JJJ: "Spider-Man ends loving marriage...P.S she's taking the kids"
It's within his expected purview to think of many things about Spider-Man
also the only good change in the mainline comics is that J Jonah Jameson actually found out who Spiderman is
and became an ally
so far they haven't reverted it
so far
the scene itself of him finding out is pretty good also
damn, i just had a whole team of Symbiote in marvel rivalss. Venom, along with Symbiote Storm, Symbiote Squirrel Girl, and Symbiote Jeff
Also the funniest part of JJ's history in the main comics is that after his wife died, Jonah actually tried to like
treat spiderman as a hero because his wife's dying words was to no longer waste his life with hate
...it just so happened that soon after that, Spiderman got his mind swapped with Doc Ock
and then Spiderman fucking blackmails him
Imagine having everyone tell you that
"This guy's a hero, you're just being delusional"
You finally give him a chance
...
and he immediately blackmails and threatens your family

the comic where Peter has had "Enough" and gives Fisk an old school ass whooping, while in prison, is still my favorite.
I mean it was after Aunt May got fucking shot by an assassin Fisk sent
also
american politics
and finally...
Freakseid
so long as it ends the indulgence of political discussion. I'm still on tense terms for what my in-law did in this chat
oh
sorry
If you recall a couple weeks back my "profile" was doing that whole tirade regarding political stuff getting all uppity on Jay and expressing their religion...
that was my sister in law
she's...eccentric. Sometimes i'd let her borrow my rig to play Sims 4 when she's visiting. But, she overstepped a boundary and decided to get involved in one of the many off topics that occur in this chat.

I just, never bothered to bring it up till now since it was a tough family conflict
so. tldr, all the messages that regard to her belief and association that was spoken through my profile. not me, her
including being non-denominational christian?
yes. Now don't get it wrong, I also follow that path, as do the rest of my blood. But she is how you say, the type to go into public places and openly professing it. you know the type.
and that unfortunately gives us reserve folk a bad rep
I hope you're not lying, but also, if you are telling the truth.
o o f.
I'm sorry that happened to you man
This is why I keep my shit password locked

believe it or don't, i've learned to let go and move on from it, as she has done as well. its none of ours or anyone's business to be caught up in "who said what". It impedes growth of one's maturity. I have my opinion, as do you and many others in what goes on in the chat. but, at the end of the day, it won't matter.
as the words of Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves once said "Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes!"
as comical as it sounds
Good on you man.
appreciate your understanding. Now, moving away from this depressing matter
Finally decided to give Furiosa: a mad max saga a watch yesterday
and I was genuinely impressed with how convincing Chris can pull off being an antagonist
It is supposed to be a prequel for Fury Road?
At least that's what I assume judging from the name
god I sound like an NPC rn

Yes
yes. Focusing on Charlize Theron's character from fury road. From her Origin to the events that lead up to her Escape with the 5 wives
and if you've played the Mad Max game, or at least watch it/heard of it, there is some minor connections to it with the prequel
Is WarhammerTV any good?
bro is just a conspiracy theorist and i love it
just pure and simple obsession driven by envy and anger
In fairness, if you knew that some animals do communicate with an animal themed Super hero, wouldn't you start to assume all animal themed super hero can talk to their respective animals ?
@celest dome got any chaos Arbites?
If you want the content yes absolutely
Other wise it’s eh
Not bad
Not great
It’s possible in dark heresy
Veru good.
I think I'll just play as Arbites for all human factions.
Enforcing whatever Lex is placed by said factions etc.
Versatile Arbites.
There aren't any story precedent but yes rpg are flexible enough
Life is good when you serve your local Noble Governor regardless of Dogmatic, Iconoclast and Heretical political standings and affiliations.
Simple as
Pays well too I'd imagine, if not. I'll just hassle the local peasantry block fodder for "willing donations". Lol
It's a combination of
Envy, self-hatred, and stubbornness.
Part of the reason why he hates Spiderman is because his first wife died by a Masked Gunman.
He hates people that wear masks.
To him, masks represent an avoidance of responsibility.
@opaque coyote pick a color.
Red, purple or blue?
blue
The other reason is because ironically enough, like you said, envy. He used to love masked heroes as a kid.
Especially Captain America.
It was kind of the only thing distracting him from the fact that his dad was an abusive piece of shit that constantly beat him.
Then both Captain America and Bucky were presumed dead.
Is there um is there Tau content by any chance 👀
And with their deaths, his childhood innocence died with him. Literally and figuratively beaten out of him.
I thought so as much. I was just curious.
Can you guess what color I picked?
And his final flaw?
To admit that he was wrong. That all of his suffering, pain, etc. didn't make him the hero of his story.
It just made him an asshole. An old, lonely man that lost his wife, his parents, and even his daughter.
And if he was wrong. Then what was the hatred all for? Years have been wasted for nothing. He has to pull Spiderman down with him.
Otherwise it would've been for naught.
mmm purple
There’s some tau hobbying and lore content. A lot of the hobbying content is generic higher level painting lessons
Close, red.
sad ive never really gotten into the TT i'm poor
TLDR; When I'm in a losing everything competition and my opponent is a Spider-man character
also i have no interest in playing a TTG
What's TTG?
table top game
Lmfao oh
Well if you started way back in the late 80s and early 90s a pack of tactical marines was around 15 pounds.
Mmmmm pewter
That makes sense
Tbh the old lead and pewter stuff still looks great even if it’s aged
also 15 pounds in 1990 is almost 40 pounds of today's money
a lead mini sounds heavy as hell
Yes, they tended to break apart very easily.
i bet
And the superglue would lose strength over time.
Most metal minis even modern ones are brittle as hell tbh
Compared to resin and good plastic
GW was just getting into injection moulding when I started playing.
yeah metal cast stuff tends to be fairly brittle
The biggest concern was that the metal detail could actually deform if it knocked against something,
depending on metal used and the size/shape ofc
If you actually played with the models it was a major pain.
i can image
hell pewter table ware is prone to warping and thats made to be used a lot
We developed simplified paint schemes with additional varnish for actually played models.
My old ass metal warp spiders have in fact deformed lol
i can only image how much more an intricate miniature would be
There's only ever been one update to the Warp Spiders, IIRC.
So your ones must have been the originals.
Same with swooping hawks
But they did switch over to pewter from lead at some point.
They had a run in shitcast for a bit which was interesting
shitcast?
But the swooping hawks iirc were metal only up till their recent replacement
lmao
It’s different from the newer resin they started using around 6e
It also didn’t help they were using resin in moulds meant for pewter and lead
Tbh
yeah that doesnt work
well it does but it aint gona be exactly high quality
So much flash lol
The Eldar Falcon is still original, IIRC. But it was one of the first injection moulded vehicles.
The Chimera maybe.
Leman Russ has been remade a couple of times. Mostly to enlarge the turret so the battle cannon can fit.
15 pounds in 1990 was about 50 bucks for me even then. I saved for years.
Nope, that would have been about 25 USD.
yeah I misunderstood what you meant at first
I received my allowance/pay in local currency, which exchanged 3.6:1 with GBP.
In retrospect, I should have picked a hobby closer to home.
Or just used paper markers.
😄
Fortunately, those were the days of 2nd Edition 40k and 4th Edition WHFB, which lasted a very long time.
Unlike now where you have to buy updated rules and models every year or so.
to be fair editions don't last that much shorter compared to the earlier editions
the issue mostly arises from new campaign books etc that bloat the game in the whatever current edition that is going on at the moment until it gets reset for the new edition
Yes, that's always a problem.
I was more into WHFB than 40k since my naive younger self absolutely hated the Imperium for the Golden Throne fuel thingy.
Then they killed it off.

some consider it a boon, to have the setting to be frozen in time so they can now focus on the game in their groups without the need to worry about any upcoming changes
True.
yeah unfortunately some people in this fandom are also frozen in time when their way of thinking and cannot accept any new changes whatsoever in the Lore
I know a good few people and gaming groups here that mostly play discontinued GW games for that reason alone, WHFB, Mordheim, different forms of Epic etc
yeah though that is a different issue entirely
Epic was so cool, but nobody I knew wanted to play.
this was mostly about the gaming aspect
WHFB?
Have they tried the new warhammer fantasy revive?
The Old World, yes.
they have and they do, it's still a different game
i see
i respect the commitment because if i remember WHFB was an atrocious system
It was complicated, yes.
Still is.
The Old World didn't go far enough in modernising the ruleset.
to be fair the fact that it's even that just says all you need to know really
i am pretty sure if they try to modernize it too much let's just say WHFB long beards are gonna have a problem
Well the TOW does try to fix all the crazy trig that has plagued WHFB, where people tried to line up charges so they just clipped the target and stuff.
at least they know issues of the old one
And you don't have to estimate ranges for artillery any more.
the system was like all over the damn place
But the reversion to fighting in one rank means that units will fail to score even one wound in combat depressingly often.
And for some reason GW absolutely hates heavy cavalry and has been trying to kill them off for several editions now.
that seems like a very specific problem
but then again this is GW they aren't exactly
The best of balancing
They just keep getting more expensive points wise.
Are they even worth it
Yes, but they will eat up all your points.
the classic gw style
That very very good thing make sure that when you buy it you become the most poor person in the table
Because nerfing the actual stats and stuff is just more annoying
you don't really want to just do that either, you want to have powerful models in the table for the power fantasy but then you just need to make them expensive
warhammer is notoriously hard game to balance 'right'
and I for one don't think it should be perfectly balanced
Warhammer used to be more relaxed, a "just have fun and create interesting scenarios" type hobby.
Around 6th edition when Alessio et al arrived it became more tournament based and all the loopholes and exploits emerged.
My local gaming scene was always super competitive, and they loved it.
yeah there's a reason the rules are mostly divided to matched and narrative play, but people who would like a more narrative experience still cling on the matched play rules as gospel, you can still play a more hobby oriented games but it may not be as balanced nor easy to approach
Humans have a weird
Tendency to optimize
Sometimes to the point where they optimize the fun out

real
I don't hate meta though. Some people like optimizing the shit out of their play. Occasionally do it myself.
But there needs to be room for both people who want to sweat
And people who want to chill
Easy to say, hard to do unfortunately
I would say herculean levels
Humans are good at one thing in that is they are naturally good at destabilizing things
You could make a perfect environment for casual and competitive and all it takes for that to crumble is one guy finding out that you can do this to gain an advantage
PRAISE CHAOS
For 40k 2nd edition had all sorts of weird and wacky interactions and the focus was on creating a rules system where you could easily incorporate all sorts of homebrew stuff, at a time when the lore was still very basic. So if you wanted to introduce xenomorphs from Alien, for example, you could easily slap together some house rules and scenarios.
I remember back in the day there were rule that orcs could just bring in a faction vehicle because you know they steal stuff
Looted wagons, yes.
Yeah it's time went on goofy rules like that have become more rarer
Then 3rd edition simplified things into broadly what they are today, but it was still a framework for homebrews.
"EY BOSS, GUESS WHAT I'Z GOT. ONE OF DOZ... KNOIFE EAR FLOATY TANKS!"
"PERFECT!"
Like in aos you can no longer overload your weapon teams
For the skaven
Like Arbites were "counts as" Scions, but with shotguns instead of hellguns.
Then 4th and especially 5th ed 40k started becoming ultra competitive, IIRc.
There are cases where the meta is so destabilizing that people have
Ignored it outright because it made things way too unfun.
Hell, a lot of people sometimes still do off meta strategies even in competitive games.
I distinctly remember an old strategy in R6S.
It was very stupid.
Essentially you used the AA-12 to uh
"remodel"
The map
By literally destroying every soft wall using it
It was very stupid
Likely to get you killed because now you had zero cover
...
It was also fun
Because Dakka is eternal
dakka is love, dakka is life
I-I don’t get this, all these ideas sound bad
Or are these things that happen in these books
I think those are supposition
For the Winged Astartes and Pariah army
Like what the 2 1st book may mount up to
image that army is real, and it has psy-titans too
Fulgrim takes a left hand of darkness right to the face
what would a weapon like that even do to something like him tbh, does he even have a soul to delete?
If it doesn't make sense they can always retcon it away.
Yeah he does.
It's unclear if a daemon prince still possesses a soul, at least in 40k, IIRC. Don't quote me on that though.
I think they do in Warhammer Fantasy and AoS.
They do. Its literally what keeps them shackled to their chaos god, they are slaves to them, them having no souls is never mentioned anywhere.
Also fun fact Dan did stuff like the mammoth End and the Death first, then wrote the final book. He’s said it’s ready to be released, but there’s some internal stuff at GW he can’t talk about keeping it delayed.

They’re still perfecting the model 4 the merged Valdorphariusenhorn centerpiece model
Daemons are sometimes said to have no souls though.
I mean thats daemons, primarchs are still human lol
daemon princes especially, we know they got souls, its what the chaos gods torment them with when they get killed and gotta respawn
it basically mixes with the pure warp energy they become since they are still somewhat mortal beings compared to daemons, so its like a blender mix of the two
40k lore does have the concept of True Death for daemons.
But you need special weapons, true names, or copious amounts of plot power.
Yeah thats it lmao
its either plot convenience mcguffin weapons or just the Emperor's Sword
Daemon princes in particular are vulnerable to secrets/artifacts from their mortal life.
According to that one Ultramarines book where the villain's mortal name was basically his true name as well.
Or the Emperor just mind blasting someone out of existence, which is how Horus was ended in earlier editions.
I dunno about now since the HH books are about to revisit that event.
They keep changing the lore around the Siege of Terra.
Or perhaps it's different viewpoints.
Daemons are made of souls, or parts of souls, like everything in the warp. But they don’t have central motivating souls.
Yes or some other warp vortex / attractor. Like dra… drachy.. Dramamine abaddon’s sword is an echo of the first murder and associated with the idea of endings. It calls itself END OF EMPIRES
so there’s some warp locus associated with those things and Drosophila is a part of that
There are also independent daemons or warp entities like Enslavers. The veteran in DT mentions them, IIRC.
I think Enslavers are aliens
Drach'nyen?
Maybe. There's something of a distinction between them and pure daemons.
Yes that’s it Dramaturge
I think they’re an homage to the Thrint from Larry Niven’s Known Space universe.
I'm not sure why the Veteran knows about them and is still alive though. The Inquisition usually disappears ordinary people who know about daemons and such.
One thing I love about the Thrint is that they’re kind of fucking stupid. Like if you can mind control things then selection may well be relaxed on your own brain. It’s hilarious and realistic and a nice break from all powerful genius mastermind aliens.
He’s an inquisitorial henchman even if low level
But yes that’s strange
Yeah but he talks about encountering them long before he became a Reject.
Like something every guardsmen might come across during a warp jump.
And the Ogryn seems to have fought daemons before.
The satirical Ciphas Cain novels sort of reel back in on some of the grimdark by having everyone know about Chaos, even specific gods.
It's only those who have been exposed to particularly foul warp sorcery that get mindwiped or executed.
But that isn't serious lore, since it also mentions things like how Sororitas don't actually have vows of celibacy and thus freely sleep around.
ngl i doubt the imperial cult has any system of celibacy
if anything it openly encourages procreation, part of the whole spread humanity across the stars stuff
Some orders of Sister have one, but it's rare
Ya exactly
yeah that makes the most sense, some orders and sects have it but its not the norm for the faith as a whole
You should remember the base setting for Darktide was a Dan Abnett creation
Although mainly it adds to them being know it all experienced veterans
The Cadian knowing about them makes sense considering waves hand
And that they did outright kill the inquisition folks trying to purge them
U must have sex 4 the Emperor who can only goon from His throne
He goons 4 u, soldier
also darktide is post rift, kinda hard for the inquisition to keep the existence of chaos a secret when it has literally ripped the galaxy in half
The secret of Chaos was stopped no ? With Guilliman returned
afaik yeah
they cant really afford to just kill every regiment that is now the frontline of a vastly expanded front
I hope the policy is a disaster lmao and there are rampant chaos incursions and insurrections
I mean the policy of not keeping it a secret
oh
40K moment
It's the Professional Veteran that mentions Enslavers though. He's not the Cadian one.
enslavers? how the fuck would anyone in the imperium know about those things?
Indeed, he mentions Enslavers in response to the Cadian Cutthroat wondering if daemons can exist outside the warp.
Maybe he thinks they are
cant blame him for that
They still pop up every now and then, although the Enslaver plague is long over.
They are still considered some sort of warp entity, AFAIK.
Need to create warp gates out of unfortunate psykers to invade realspace, etc.
Yes, they keep eating my Tactical Squads
Or rather, mind controlling the first one and eating the second.
Wat really
Wow I had no idea they were actually modeled in any official 40K media
Only knew of the like 3 pieces of art
what isnt on Gladius Prime at this point?
Yeah, they can instantly mind control most basic troops and hit like a truck. Also quite tough.
yeah those floating squids are annoying
I still think they’re meant to be aliens — ie, made of materium — even if they somehow reside in the warp
Enslavers right?
Gladius Prime truly has everything, and Enslavers are annoying - they mind control then run away
If you start with a group close by, expect expansion to be hampered.
They can outright cripple a faction if they mind control a key starting unit.
Easily the worst neutral unit to encounter in the early game.
Could be similar to the Saruthi from Eisenhorn but even worse
||Seeing as they were an entire species so inherently corrupted that they started breaking the laws of physics||
In earlier edition lore the Enslaver Plague basically drove the Necrons and C'tan into 60 million years of hibernation by eating all sentient life.
its jover
If it eats all the AI, I'm okay with it
if it eats all my trash, im okay with it
this is a post
that exists
thanks gw
lmao
i know the answer
||white templars||
Trying to say Black Templars are more zealous than Sororitas
"The ultra marines are roman"
NO THEY ARENT, THE AVERAGE ULTRA MARINE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HTE FUCK ROME IS
Which one is known to cause literal miracles with their zealotry
its warcom
yeah but space marine so rip
they do just make shitposts sometimes
this is def one of them lol
waste of a post smh
but I'd assume they had literally nothing else to post
Probably indicative of them not doing anything major with their rules
They're just cool looking
I'm ngl its an ancient and a chaplain 💀
I don't think there's much they can do with them rules wise
nooo its not a chaplin its an uh
its a fancy chaplain
exulsator?
Yeah
Yea it'll just be the same with some minor stat changes maybe for weapons
This is definitely like the las gun moment of all time
which is some fuckass chaplain rank they have
I'd assume the ability will be slightly dif
for both of them
it is not a chaplin therefore it must have completley unique rules because its cooler and awesomer than a chaplin and every amry taht doenst use a chaplin is bad and should be purged
the eldar?
i knowlol
rip
I hope we hear more about the lion before the decade ends
tbf, GW does not do Warzone or Crusade lore for the primarchs explictly
so the setting doesn't feel small
lol
I hope the lion curls up & goes bak 2 sleep
& Guilliman runs out of space Prozac & willingly sits back down in the stasis pod
Baby carrier is just as broken as he was in the index
He & Bjorn can wake up every 1000 years, talk about how everything is now fake & gay, & go bak 2 sleep
I love the baby carrier its like they watched the matrix but forgot those suits are cargo loaders from aliens with guns on them
Then again as we all know the strongest armor in 40k is a helmetless head
STEEL REHN
Ur mom can deep strike
“We know the model sucks so let’s make OP rules, that will force the Tournament power addicts to buy it” - GW
"We know it sucks and everyone hates it, so lets make an upgrade sprue that doesn't fix any of it's issues and just gives it a new weapon"
It was already broken
People were expecting nerfs with the codex and it got none
So it’s just about the same lol
GK in general looks like they got buffs to make them less awful which was probably needed
So the baby carrier got worse in comparison to the rest of the book
How lol
If the rest of the book gets buffed and the baby carrier remains the same it’s comparatively worse then it was
I mean as in GW not actually trying to fix things
I also think the baby carrier has unfortunately been good every edition it’s been out evrr
lol
Is the broken logic here
boy oh golly i wondere how mnay greyknight datasheets dotn have models
It’s all the usual suspects
lol
I mean what is there to fix tbh
GK fan rage incoming
GK are meant to be like
WERE THE ONLY ARMY LIEK THIS PLEASE
An elite army
Drukhari on suicide watch
NO ONE ELSE HAS THIS ISSUE
Yeah
they have models but you just cant buy them
Well better get Kitbashing 💀
One of the beast models was never made
Don’t forget the HH panic over all the missing entries.
But then that would mean you’re running a beast tamer
GW refuses to sell them 😭
Saturnine looks like a Dominion issue occurred
Where GW super overproduced
If you’re in the UK and you want the box
Weyland games is selling it 35% off already
i hope saturine makes gw lose money
And they will draw the wrong lessons from it lol
i hope that they remember like only 2% of the people who post about HH actually play it
You know that's like asking for me not to like orks and orruks right
an impossible thing to wish for
The people who actually play heresy regularly hate 3e lol
Saturnine will make a morbillion dollars
LMAO WAHT
It’ll still make a fuck ton
3e sucks rules wise
And I say this as someone who doesn’t play heresy often
its a side game based off a single army in a spin off setting
THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HERETIC AND LOYALISTS
Solar Auxilia and the HH Admech are cool though
I mean, so far I fail to see the suck…
ITS A SCAM
Oh lmao
my bad poitn taken elite
sowwy
rage posting over people saying the HH release is a chaos release
It could be
Yes but you're asking marine enjoyers not to buy something marine related
The legion rules are just more boring, no warlord traits, mechanicum lost several options on its units and they aren’t available in legacies. Solar auxillia lost over 70% of their army with no continuation on if it’s in legacies
Now granted if you like 3e more power to you
70% of their army
WHAT
…damn I actually liked the new FoC, but for Solar Aux to lose so much…
wait they , did what to HH???
Oh also GW said heresy 3e would make no sweeping changes to the game
It made a ton
You must run a praetor now
For marines

Some of the new stuff is interesting
Like there are actual good rules
In 3e
It’s just
where the fuck did the rest of it go
Oh also GW is reselling rules to you
In 35$ rulebooks
That you had in your liber in 2e

I mean, I was thinking of starting a HH collection, but only with Marines as Allies, so the Praetor thing doesn’t disturb me that much
Main army is either Solar Aux or Militia
But heresy 3e is like if GW said AoS 4e had the same listbuilding rules as AoS 3e.
But when AoS 4e comes out listbuilding is obviously not the same.
sorry eveyr time someone says praetor i think of the AOS unit
Tbf
Reasonable
lol
But yeah I won’t mock anyone for liking heresy 3e
The one warhammer system I will mock someone for actually enjoying the gameplay of
?
Is AoS 1e(launch) rogue trader(the edition) and the super old whfb ones
Because all of those
Are in fact god awful to play
lol
1e, or 1.5e?
LAUNCh whoops
makes new fantasy game
use rule makers from previous fantasy game
literally the worst tabletop game rules every written
entire team is fired
what did GW mean by this
also its not the worst tabletop game rules ever written
its upthere
but its not bad
yeah yoru right, worst made by a legit well known trusted company
this might be the worst tabletop game
What is that fallout mad max looking poster
what
what even is the factions
I cannot talk about this game
without being banned from the server
google it yourself
HOLY SHIT
you know what i do not want to know
I think I know of 1 or 2 of the mechanics in it
Honestly if legacies has the missing units, it won't be bad at all
if it doesn't
uh
well
But I might be mixing it up
if they're extremely racist then yes
OK this tells me all i need to know
you probably remember it
Well that’s it, time to do Militia/AL instead if Auxilia is going to end up sucking balls anyways…
yeeeeeeeeeeep
On a similar topic
Anyone excited for fallout wasteland warfare 2.0 next Year?
yes!
but yeah Saturine is looking to be a Dominion issue except even worse
either GW produced way more then dominion
or people are buying it way less then dominion
oh new super muntant minies
Oh yeah those went up for sale last month
I hope they rename the supermutant suiciders to supermutant martyrs 😭 me and a few people were asking about that a while ago
i mean that's exactly what they do
they grab a mini nuke and use it to punch you
Ywah but it’s a pretty yucky name lmao
In other languages it’s changed to martyr and some mods rename them off the bat
Like the super mutant Skyrim mod
I hope far harbor releases before 2nd edition FWW
Maybe there will be an institute update
(I play institute)
I would prefer if they change it something besides martyr because these guys are literally idiots that would suicide bomb you because they don't know that they can die
Yeah
I think bomber is already used
76 had an update that literally rewrote all of them, they now look like east coast while acting like west coast
neat
Yeah
Sounds a bit too fancy
it does
west coast are those the ones from like the earlier fallouts like new vegas?
