Tbf
Xi has been
trying to make himself the next Mao
the uh, the populace is not biting it
LOL
Has it even been working
Populace and his opponents are waiting in the wings.
Free Economic Zones were just a fascinating development to me
"Eugh" at worst
Xi is a dictator
You know back when they were genuinely socialist and not state capitalist
like more so then other heads of the CCP
its interesting tbh
They had their cake and ate it too with it
CCP is by no means as unified as they present themselves.
Even within the CCP there is a degree of factionalism
Xi has become a dictator, no clue on wtf is going to happen when he bites it
He did fuck them over too much. Now the youth of China are just giving up.
Taiwan invasion.
but in terms of internal politics lol
Then again some people are Nostalgic about the 1950s
Yeah I totally want Polio
That is, one potentiality
Welcome back warlord era
Still wondering if thats gonna happen ngl
I mean do you suppose there might be some physical heads rolling as well a la Gang of Four?
Invasion is unpopular with the younger people tbh
I'm talking about Taiwan invading China.
Oh
I genuinely have my doubts over the invasion in all honesty
Bruh no lol
Not China invading Taiwan.
There is a 30% chance that China becomes more chill
And then 70% chance China becomes rabid as shit
does not want to concern itself with the "chinese question" so to speak
the DPP in Taiwan rn
It's just like my favorite Gacha games!
I recall reading that the Taiwanese don't even want to do the original "retake china" mission or anything at all
is pretty hardline on Taiwanese seperation
And they'd rather just chill with the new identity
If it's gonna happen I think it'll happen if either the US is currently super fucked or Xi is like "fuck it im gonna die soon might as well"
the KMT is increasingly unpopular
but the DPP is also not super popular
the DPP is just prefered
Yeah from what I've gathered.
Most Taiwan people just want to be left alone to do their thing
And not get invaded
Tbf, CCP said they were concerned that Taiwan was moving passed Chiang Kai-shek legacy, by taking down statues and such.
Is that the main issue split between them?
See if you are all familiar with “Of Mice and Men”
There is a super short guy in the story that deliberately picks fight with big guys just because he knows people will sympathise with him more.
DPP strikes me as that kind of jerk.
Also also - do you know that DPP had a chance to defuse things in HK back in 2019 but they deliberately didn’t?
(And yes this has everything to do with how a single murder case cascaded into the National Security Law debacle)
Are there any space marines that were well known by fans before the primaris thing that were killed in the Rubicon surgery?
No
It's a 100% chance of survival if you're helmetless

Bonus points if you're a UM
Sadly no. Not that we know of, but GW could always just retcon that.
“Oh yea, the character we discontinued post Primaris? He died.”
The main issue split between the DPP and KMT's main split are
Chinese reunification and either Taiwan become its own nation or becoming reunified
the DPP wants Taiwan to become its own nation
I see lol
the KMT does not
Thank you
the KMT is still of the opinion Taiwan is the one true China
and should take over mainland china
I was reading that they ALSO don't advocate military solutions though, just now
So like
IDK if they even have the slightest concept of a plan as to how they're gonna do that
Trust me bro they'll totally win
how was the Taiwanse DPP involved with the Hong Kong protests, I forgor
Convince Xi to become KMT?
Look up Hong Kong 97 on how they'll do it
Like I said, they specifically do not want to fight the PRC or get into any conflict with them at least based on a cursory reading

I just remembered. Putin keeps claiming that Alaska is stolen Russian territory that needs to be returned.
Didn't Russia literally sell it to us
Bro
💀
Yes
They did.
They'll use CIA powers of suggestion to get the entirety of the CCP inner party to willingly switch to KMT
All they're waiting for is Xi to pass away.
"You're stealing from me."
"Bro I literally bought it from you. I have the receipt.'
"SHUT UP."
regarding centralized power
both of them want more centralized power while they're in control of the government
but want less when the other party is
Imagine if France turned around and asked for the return of Louisiana.
This is why country humans was popular.
Cause imagining this shit as like two roommates talking to each other is funny
oh wait was it the murder case
with the extradition thing lol
it absolutely was that
cracks fingers
The story starts like this, weirdly enough.
In some time long ago in 2018, a Hong Kong young couple (straight) went on a tourist trip to Taiwan. Then, for whatever the hell reason, the guy just murdered his girlfriend in Taiwan (in a hotel in Taipei IIRC). The guy the left Taiwan, flew back to Hong Kong.
Taiwanese police found the body, and through some cooperation with HK police, they identified the guilty guy. But you should already see the issue here. HK cannot and should not have their own foreign policy, and this includes things like extradition from Hong Kong to Taiwan. That level of cooperation needs Beijing or Chinese national level authorities.
So, in other words, they needed the give this one Hong Kong guy from HK police, to China police, to then extradite to Taiwan.
This then led to the whole mess about how HK government just mismanaged the situation leading to the whole known protest and such, all because they needed to get his one murderous asshole over to Taiwan.
(It is a detail barely reported in Western Media, such is the near impossible daisy chain of events)
(Part one)
yeah thats what it was
No I remember now
I appriciate the refresher genuinely
thank you
it was the extradition bill clusterfuck
Welcome.
So yea, just to round off the point.
The murder suspect offered to fly himself to Taiwan to be arrested
DPP refused the offer.
So yea.
As far as I am concerned, DPP are sick little fucks as well.
oh they're not great either lol
neither of the leaders of the Pan blue or pan green coalitions in taiwan are particularly
whats a word
lets just say good
LOL
Lol
both of them are incredibly aggressive, nationalistic and historically shady
funnily enough rn the KMT have a majority in the Legislative Yuan in Taiwan rn due to the TPP which is a new party thats been on the rise
so the DPP have lost seats to another center left party
Which has ended up meaning the KMT hold majority in the legislative yuan
this is I think one of the first times in Taiwan history
where one of the coalitions has had a majority in the Yuan, while the other coalition is in power as the President
Look your choices are the CCP(for mainland China) and uh the CCP(for mainland china) very good options
for Taiwan you have the Vaguely facist nationalists and you have the vaguely authoritarian nationalists
wonderful choices
now granted neither of the 2 parties in Taiwan have been able to act on their uh
Yea that is what I meant, no good choices 🤣
Regarding this I mean yeah, Chiang Kai-Shek is extremely hated in Taiwan
for being a facist asshole
People do not like him
Huh. Off topic, but Destiny 2 got a lore leak: ||The Nine assassinated JFK.||
Like
huh
what
what the fuck do you mean The Nine assasinated JFK
who did they have do it?
its not like they themselves can do it
IIRC, He kept pestering the US to nuke China, so Taiwan could invade in the aftermath.
thats unsurprising
Chiang also blew up a dam and got 3 million people killed
and kind of just didn't care
also had to be forced at gunpoint to work with the CCP
I would like to mention Chaing was also a marxist
at this point in time
in fact Chiang still claimed he was a marxist around the time he died
Didn't he provide an offer to send soldiers to the Korean War
Probably to escalate it a little bit the cheeky lad
Apparently ||JFK's brain got hit with a unknown energy that may have been related to the bullet.||
All leaked from the collectors' edition of the new Destiny 2 dlc.
bro got a Brain to Air cast on him by a level 14 Wizard/Sorcerer Multiclass
||What if the guardian is assassinating JFK?||
the last thing he saw before he died
also the KMT were, for lack of a more politically accurate term, up to a little trolling instead of actually rebuilding China after WW2
I would laugh my ass off
Chiang "I would rather kill a thousand innocent people then let 1 communist escape" Kai Shek
Fucking 40k ass quote right there
hard to imagine why everyone immediately hated their guts when they were just embezzling the fuck out of the whole country instead of rebuilding
Me when the warlord coalition acts like a warlord coalition
💀
disloyal, corrupt and violent to the end
Sun Yat Sen would be a fucking perpetual motion machine if he saw what became of the KMT lol
"Wow! Under their leadership we defended China from the Japanese! I wonder why anyone has any problem with them!?"
"Oh yeah... that's why."
now granted Sun was also arguably a warlord but still
fun fact the CCP has been trying to rehabilitate his image recently
for reasons beyond my comprehension
well rehabiliate is the wrong word, but they try to justify some of the more uh drastic measures he took
he was seen in the same photo as Mao, maybe they would like to insist that Mao himself would never treat with anyone evil willingly
don't ask about his wife after his death
let me find a quote about chiang
"{his} greatest contribution was to make the CCP successful. If he had been a bit more trustworthy, if his character was somewhat better, the CCP would have been unable to beat him".
and also some other comments are that he only was losing to Japan because he did not receive the support he needed from his benefators(The US and Germany) and he overestimated how likely his soldiers wanted to fight
he also was against Taiwanese seperatism so ig that may be why they are rehabilitating his image somewhat
Sorry, quick 40k question, but would something like the Bale Eye used by Yarrick be something other commissars could get, or was it a one off for Yarrick?
i mean in the war against Japan he had some pretty extreme fanatics
you wanna talk about 40k-esque, some of the Chinese Nationalist descriptions read straight out of an Imperial Guard novel
one off
but its not unique tech
it can be reproduced
You mean like Dare to Die?
see: the Ma Clique
holy fuck lol
so he probably saw his men willingly blowing themselves up to wipe out IJA tank columns and thought "oh yeah that'll happen again vs the communists"
yeah
they were internationally lauded as elite too, weren't just a bunch of untrained psychotics
How so?
def, its odd to see how much they imploded though
Well they were religous fanatics for one
and they were highly trained
most of their officers having trained either in Japan or under Nationalist china
"Among the most renowned forces within the NRA were the Muslim divisions commanded by the Ma Clique—a group of Chinese Muslim warlords and military officers who had aligned with the Kuomintang (KMT). Unlike the German-trained units that received mixed reviews from European observers, the Ma Clique's Muslim divisions, trained domestically in China without Western assistance, garnered astonishment and respect for their battlefield discipline and fierce combat capabilities. European travellers and observers such as Sven Hedin and Georg Vasel were reportedly awed by both the imposing appearance and martial effectiveness of these units. They were noted for enduring rigorous and brutal training regimes."
yeah
the Ma Clique did extremely well during the war
unlike some other warlord cliques
they even embraced the 40kism of not caring about your gender because they just want bodies
at least the Dare to Die side
I forgot which member of the Ma Clique
called for Jihad against Japan
I think it was the really old dude
Was it a guy who had diabetes and trained on the ground with his troops?
Yeah it was that guy
he was the one who called for Jihad against Japan along with like, a lot of other muslim groups at that time
but he's like the notable one
this dude Ma Hongkui
classic ma clique
He does NOT look like the most hardcore warrior of the age ngl
maybe the lighting just does him dirty
Was it Ma Biao who called the Japanese dwarf devils
yes
"I will give vengeance for the already dead martyrs, achieving glory with the next generation."
he uh
he really did not like the Japanese
tbf he was like, obese iirc
he had a lot of health issues bcs of his diabetese
Yeah but you read his accolades and the dude's a beast
tbf he had aura in like this photo
ignore the double chin
now granted he was also a brutal warlord but like
warlord era moment
You know how it is, if you're a warlord you gotta warlord
me when I'm bored so I have to kill hundreds of people every month
his uniform is strangling him
there's some irony to how both factions of the Chinese Civil war's higher ranking members
were not native mandarin speakers
and how both Mainlaind China and Taiwan ended up enforcing Mandarin as the "universal" language
ngl I am not the one thats going to be telling that to him
wasn
Average imperial guard general fr
wasn't there a story about a warlord-era guy who saw a ball game for the first time and thought it was the stupidest thing he'd ever seen
and so just ordered every player be given a ball?
something like "Why are we fighting over a ball, are we poor or something?"
I have never heard of that but that would track
oh the er, zongchang thing
"I have always had one answer for Communists-kill them all."
self proclaimed socialist btw
tbf, there's nothing worse than another leftist who's wrong
almost all of the famous Chinese Warlords have some deranged quotes
replace communists with heretics for the KMT aligned ones
and it sounds like a 40k character tbh
Chinese Civil war in a nutshell
Both sides hated capitalists, both sides supported nationalizing the economy, both sides were socialists, both sides hated imperialism, both sides hated japan and both sides wanted a strong central government.
The only warlord I know and the insane shit he did is Zhang Zongchang
Genuinely funny man
Working class hero
the three don't knows
Doesn't know how much money he has, doesn't know how many soldiers he has under his command and doesn't know how many women were in his harem
He's the one who got everyone each their ball for basketball I think it was
that sounds about right
thank you great general of justice and might
His poems crack me up, semi-literacy should be mandated for poets
that name let me do some digging
so he didn't actually say or do that, but it was a joke made about him since he was so wacky/stupid
"Once when he was inspecting a middle school, he saw students playing basketball and fighting with each other. He was very unhappy and scolded the principal on the spot, saying: "Where did all the funds go? Can't we have more money?"
1988 tongue-in-cheek biography
I am
95% shre
That if 40k was allowed
And by allowed I mean allowed to do it without tanking their sales or having people become depressed
The Guardsmen would basically be a combo of
Nazi's and Imperial Japan
Atrocities included
The guard do purge local populations in lore
Tbf
It’s just usually a one sentence thing or codex lore
I think something that people don't talk about enough is the Emperor's current perspective and how the public opinion of mankind is warping him, by little or a lot, into something that he is not
I wonder if he can perceive that change
Is it too much to ask for the hh retold in spongebob 😔
I think that should be considered a human right
Honestly that sounds like an interesting short story
Like a story of a group of people trying to escape the guardsmen purging them
There's no twist that they're like GSC or whatever.
though its revealed they're GSC
well, that specific family is
not a lot of the other people
Tbh that's what I'm referring to
those are just normal people as far as we know lol
Like I found that to be lame
I agree
I think it would've been interesting if they weren't
But yeah regardless
I would like an actual short story of people trying to escape the Imperial Guard
Not even for an actual reason like Tyranids
That is a good story idea
It's just after a non-chaos rebellion
And they're purging anybody that might be
Slightly connected
Would also let the guard be the scary hyper competent killers they are in lore
Let the flashlights (lmao) show what it can really do to a human body
PDF elements could be trying to help the locals
Actually sounds interesting
Like the PDF are usually either
Corrupted, incompetent, or both
A planet is marked for extermination because they have a relic
that belongs to a traitor primarch
problem solved
or some other famous traitor
maybe they have a bolter from Huron
It should turn out that the relic isn't even anything special
Not even a bolter
bolt shell
It should be like a chair
Perfect
Oh god everyone is gonna get purged Fulgrim has left his used rubbers across half the galaxy
we do know an entire planet got purged
because they had a gun Horus had picked up
once
like it wasn't even his
it was gifted to Horus, he picked it up and then just left it there
Bro a primarch chair isn’t nothing imagine how much demigod taint aura it’s absorbed and how many warp farts have sunken into it
awful
The entire story should be the escapees trying to find a ship to get out
Meanwhile they question why they're being pursued
Why their friends and family had to die
This is a real good idea 4 a story
And then at the end it shows an entire guardsman regiment surrounding something. Defenses set up that can repel a Tyranid Invasion.
...
It's a single bolt shell
Like Abnett occasionally shifts the perspective to remind us of how fething scary and barbaric the Tanith are
Tanith books showing the way to kill a chaos marine is simply to over charge your las gun just shoot through his damn head
(Including helmet)
Why do they call this game "darktide" when there isn't a sea in the game
Lore wise, it's in reference to Chaos
Is it high tide or low tide
40k isn't based enough for an ordertide💔
If the tide is so dark why don't they just turn on the lights? Are they stupid?

Lights Out modifier
Are Worlds meant to turn over all of their Psykers to Imperial Authorities?
Basically any they can find yeah
Tbf there is good incentive
Even a low tier Psyker getting possessed can destroy an entire city
this is without a doubt the best and most unique looking psyker mini in the setting
i want those helmets
oh yeah Larmy question since they are seemingly updating and giving new stuff to factions in necro
What faction do you want to see get something real good
Corpse grinder cult
oh yeah they need it
Yea they’ve only got one plastic kit and one resin HQ
i wouldn't mind the Ogryn gang getting
more things because they are also just a single kit
Oh really I thought they had a bunch
this entire thing right here is their gang
So I wouldn't mind them and the grinder cults getting some love
Slave Ogryn getting an update would be sweet
And maybe some Awakened Ogryn miniature
Is every ganger an amputee in the grim dark future of 40k?
I'm noticing a pattern here
Comes with the job
Being a criminal you're kind of bound to lose limbs sometime your life
psychic ogryns
Looks amazing 🤩
Will have to buy some
Work in a factory without health and safety and you're in for the same fate
that too
40K designers when they get to design something that isn’t Space Marines
i genuinely love the bone crusher
the guy looks like he could square up to an Ambot and win
Speaking of Munda Psykers, wonder if they could reintroduce Wyrd, the Caller, that 'not-Vampire' dude and the Eldar from the old system
Wyrd could make a comeback, surely
Being weak human psykers, with a style that paved way for newer psyker models for guard
In theory savant psyker good get a cosmetic with this fit 🤔
Me on my way to inevitably get the next DLC to release only for me to ignore the characters in it
Hi
aaah half life
the spy getting ready for the hail mary sapper
( He will die to a random crit rocket )
what the skidibi
I never understand what is interesting about this...
And now it seems to make tons of money everywhere.
Tbh I didn’t expect enforcers to be the second gang to get their secundus expansion
Who on earth buys stuff on discord. Im really curious what sort of person would. To me at least, it seems strange. Maybe im just judgemental.
At the same time i buy virtual cosmetics for my digital toys so theres that.
Random for fun question: How many space marines would it take to kill excalibur umbra from Warframe?
how many guardsmen it would take to kill the god emperor
more than 2
Does the Emperor get Custodes, and do the Guardsmen get artilery ?
just guarsmen with rifles and other gear, no artillery or other machines
emperor just him
in his prime
Yet still in the 1999 story, it took 2 frames to lift a truck. Hate that scene. 1 Warframe could lift a car easy.
Oh prime, well that's difficult to say, probably impossible tbh
The proto frames aren’t proper frames tbf
They lack shields
As well
E would die of boredom
while wiping them out
Well still. We were there. I was expecting us to just lift it off her, but we still looked like we had a hard time with it
The Hex are reliant entirely on their “natural” armor and are slower
Prolly didn’t want to chuck it off as well lol
If someone’s crushed under something you should be careful removing it
yeah it would make sense if it was just protoframes lifting it but you're there helping lift it which is easy for you
It’s not like a wrecked truck in that manner
Is like an entire thing lol
What if it collapses further
Ect.
No.
Knights are their own thing. A knight house could be based out of a world with a convent on it.
This has happened w/ knights and astartes chapters before.
But the two would be strictly separate organizations allied together.
The pipeline for knight pilots is incompatible with anything else.
Nah, i bet, considering DE has basically never had much consistency with stuff like that, they definitely didnt put that amount of attention into that scene.
It was just poorly done imo
The fenrisian kraken egg the Space wolves had had since 5e hatched
and surprise surprise
Its full of fucking nids lol
……wat
Have we ever seen any of the psychic feats that the Emperor can do?
Ik he's supposed to be the only stable psyker of the highest tier but I've never seen what he can do
Other than the webway living in his brain ofc
Yes
he made the entire word bearer legion kneel
with a single word
^
Basically he can do anything the plot wants him to do
thats his power level ala Ahriman
its pretty busted but that is 40k magic rules for you
can he do a backflip
He once thot about his uncle really hard and then his uncle fuckin died
Not even a joke either, good power.
Didn't he also obilterate a legion of daemons in the webway just with his presence
sorta
He once sang all of Bohemian Rhapsody perfectly in tune
people do that on the reg
They r all Him in disguise
He also detected that Corvus Corax was starting to doubt him and so essentially made it so that he wouldn't disagree with him or his methods ever again even though he's everything he hates as a ruler in normal circumstances
He had a really smart philosophically brilliant debate about religion w the last Christian priest
he knows the entirety of public enemy's 911 is a joke by heart
This one time Magnus said he was going 2 his room to study but He could sense it was really to jerk off
I'd expect nothing less from the main character of 40k
Ikr lol
He got lucky with the last one, most of them can't do that
Well I need a prayer for the machine god. Going to be working on my dryer (again)
Last time I did this I spent hours fighting it. I listened through most of harrow master working on it
So our of boredom
Do y'all think the warp needs to go deeper into minor warp entities and factions
Like similar to the Sons of Malice in terms of scale
Is the Warp weak to anything? Like a type of metal or is there some kinda energy weapon that repels warp goons?
Or some kind of device that stops warp portals from opening
Its weak to anti-psyker shenanigans, like Blanks and The Shadow in the Warp
Otherwise, not really
what are those
Its basically hell that runs off emotions of sentient beings, most prominently human emotions
So, can we make like a giant Prozac Cannon and blast it into the warp?
Blanks are individuals that have a dim soul or no soul, and are considered uncanny by most folk. This can be weaponized as one Assassinorum organization uses in order to deal with psykers. The Shadow in the Warp is a phenomena that is caused by the Tyranids' hivemind, where they can put a stop to psykers and their connections to the warp; from that standpoint, they can close warp portals and turn the gifts of chaos on cultists moot
Not really, but hey, depends on the writer at that point
Damn, why does it sound like they backloaded all the power in the universe to Tyranids lol
Dont worry, they literally lose in basically every book they're featured in from what I hear
There’s no goon like a warp goon
Tbh kind of
Except it would be more like shooting up material humans with it to quell their strong emotions
And that eventually would starve the gods.
The Emperor’s Imperial Truth was an attempt to impose logic and rationality, since the excesses of religious fervor feed the gods.
Don’t they sort of have an anti-soul
Necrons are soulless but they don’t have the pariah effect
Not too sure if its anti-soul like anti-matter or just little to no soul
Mmmm a decent point
That there are power levels to it kind of suggests you can go into the negative. Or it’s just like asymptotically approaching true 0
Ive heard dim souls, though I think thats more Tau souls
Ive heard no souls for Blanks
A soul gives substance to the warp — the warp is made of souls. I’m just talking through this. Lack of a soul does nothing to the warp one way or another. But if there is something tethered to you in the Warp, only instead of contributing to the substance of the warp it consumes it…
Which is very much how the animus speculum (peak name) is described
The Animus speculum is a weapon used by the Culexus Assassin. It is capable of firing lethal blasts of negative psychic energy. By focusing the Assassin's aura through the single eye on the front, it becomes a thin beam of energy, burning the target's brain and sucking out its soul. These blasts can be deadly to anyone, but psykers who rely upon...
Actually lexicanum, with citations, strongly supports the negative soul thing
Blanks,[1a] also known as Untouchables,[2] Pariahs[1a], Psychic Nulls[3b] and Blacksouls[4a] are an exceedingly rare strain of Human mutant,[5] whose mutation tied to a so-called pariah gene allows their minds to exude a negative psionic field,[3b] that both disrupts psychic phenomena in a radius and ultimately makes them immune to all tangible ...
This makes more sense. Yeah kind of but also they have singularity-like effects
In that they suck in warp stuff
Okay okay
But they do have souls. They’re just terrifying anti-souls.
Idk whether there are anti-psychic powers or whether the rarity of anti- soulstuff in the immaterium means there isn’t enough background substance and energy to draw on
They need to do a "what if" and have E come back and show him doing all the cool shit he wanted to
This sounds wild as hell. It's like that one movie with christian bale
Equilibrium. where everyone takes a pill to get rid of their emotions
I turned into a Cadian mid banter
In addition to what everyone else said, yeah sort of https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Noctilith
Noctilith, or Blackstone[2] is a mysterious warp manipulating substance found across the Galaxy.[1]
The metaphysics of the Warp in 40K are actually really well done. Basic premise: living things / sentient beings in particular have souls. The souls are tethered to their material bodies. When the material body dies, the soul becomes untethered.
The warp itself is the Sea of Souls. Its “matter” is soul-stuff. Its “energy” is emotion, and to a certain extent other cognitive phenomena. This alone explains a lot of what you see in the 40K universe.
Dont the Necrons have a bunch of goofy "anti-warp" technology?
Gods are made of soul-matter but that matter is actuated by the ideas and emotions that attract each other and agglomerate to form the self-sustaining vortex that is a god.
Ya that’s nullification tech though. It doesn’t suck warp stuff in like a pariah. It cuts the materium off from the immaterium. It strengthens the veil and can even mend tears in it.
Maybe its me being some sort of chaos fanboy, but I just find the idea of "anti-warp tech" to be fundamentally ridiculous
A pariah’s soul exists in the warp and actively devours warp stuff.
It should never be too powerful in lore.
Chaos must always be the principal threat
If anti warp technology didn't exist the lore wouldn't make any sense
The old ones would have just blown up the necrontyr
Anyway to conclude the clever thing about it is that the gods are us. Their motive force is our emotions.
is if dead lore that the pariah gene is an ancient necron experiment
They have a veneer of being eldritch and unknowable but actually they’re way more familiar and less alien than, well, an alien.
They used to make necron pariahs out of human ones i think that's gone
Dead lore so far
Every edition I think they’re gonna bring back necron pariahs
I mean
that's more or less how it went down, its said that their warp power was their main factor in it
so the presence of efficacious anti-warp technology is actually LESS sensicle
sensible, even
But yeah blackstone being what it is, is the only reason the cadia-eot stuff happened the way it did was the pylons
They lost though
No, they won pyrrhically
The butthole bracers
IIRC it's said in no uncertain terms that the outcome is their victory, but they were left so weak that the enslaver plague wiped them out
Furthermore, the actual details of the war itself are never particularly divulged in anyway
Anyway, the reason anti-warp technology is silly to me is more on fundamental grounds
like, what does that even MEAN?
when in the context of what the warp actually IS it's very wacky
They were big self important dinosaurs they foresaw that their creations would produce Jurassic Park’s 500 sequels and died of cringe
What I dont get, is if things like Nekrons or Orks or Tyranids go there. Nekrons are just souls in metal bodies right? Orks seem like they are capable of being pretty human like and I guess tyranids probably not ftmp, but I imagine there's some kinda crazy evolved tyranid thats human like
Imagine a bunch of space marines with armor made of this
Tyranid hive fleets are so psychically active they basically carry their own warp environment with them, the Shadow
Orks interact with the warp more or less the way humans do. Necrons are soulless. They have no immaterial self.
Not anymore.
No body of light, as the XV would have it
I imagine the WAAAGH field psychically insulates most orks some by spreading the load, given the mass head explosions weirdboyz cause
Between that and their rather earnest dedication to a good krumpin' orks don't seem to get corrupted often
To me this implies there's a difference between khornate killing for suffering and disorder and stuff and good ol orky war for the love of the game
I like tuska deamon killer , he caught khornes eye and now gets to Krump for eternity in one of khornes realms
"Skulls for the skull throne? Not till i take the teef out"
Gork and Mork might also shield them. Not unlikely those two are created gods made by the krork under the influence of the old ones
Like the Eldar gods
There's something else they welcome Gellar feild incursions as practice on the way to the real fight
Given how rapidly the tau accidentaly made their god and the empires numbers relative to the orks gork and mork are probably pretty damn powerful actually

Orks are chads honestly
And yeah don't feral orks automatically pick up gork/mork worship?
We consistently are led to understand G and M are v powerful
Yeah gork and Mork I'd say have a strong presence due to the amount of orks that worship them
The same way a critical mass of orks starts building guns
But the krork lost their anti-chaos purpose so G and M don’t go around krumping the Old Four.
Orks are just so cool bio engineerd super weapons , if they achieve prime ork hood again the galaxy is in trouble
Ghazgulls like 18 ft tall iirc
It would be a funny explanation for the brutal cunning/cunning brutality mixup if the worship is genetic and the old ones forgot to specify in the design stage
Do you like the idea of a rouge trader w a freebooter in his retenue
There's some great short audio books on YouTube
Could an ork become impossible to kill using their bs powers and wearing some specifically colored armor
They seem hard to share a space with
or keep someone else alive through their powers
The waagh field is grossly meme scaled
It's hilarious the dialog between the two
I've seen people say that
Tons of people will talk in comments about orks can do anything because their psychic bs and just thinking it lets them, and it sounds like people think there are no limits
Its an ancient game of telephone
But i'll see a few random/smaller ones saying there's an actual limit. My thought is that there's some youtubers or something out there spreading that "orks can do whatever with psychic powers" bs and then it's getting picked up by people who have only maybe played like space marine and like the verse or are just noobs like me but dont try to clarify things
The waagh field is best described as reality lube in the orks favor
Oh so just how ork tech works
Sounds more like dominos luck power
Their guns stop jamming idk if they're actually cycling faster
LIkem with Domino, her power doesn't automatically make her survive anything. She has to at least take some kind of action for the effect of her luck to start.
So if a meteor is gonna hit her, she's gonna have to start running away and the power works. if she stands there staring at it, nothing will happen
Sort of? Way less powerful and a little more versatile
I imagine ork tech has to have actual wires and shit
The waagh field makes them work well yeah
I know if a human uses it its most likely going to jam but it's not entirely "psykick enabled" it's still functionally has some sort of sense to it
So like a red painted car has a working engine, but basically everything is broken. an ork drive sit and the field makes the tires spin, the engine sound/burn fuel and turn the wheels but not all the parts are really working ?
Maybe like how Professor X can use telekinesis to move his legs and walk around?
Yeah they're just like khyber pass handmade doohickeys, that work like forge world guns under the field
Red is faster for orks funny enough
Blue is good luck
I'm not sure about other colors
Yellow i think is saying I'm rich look at me I'm gold?
Yes
In something really complex like a car maybe not every part is actually working but most of it has to at least some
That being said they don't like to do alot of talking
You'd never be able to knock an ork vehicle out otherwise
I'm pretty sure a human can drive a ork trukk
Patience is something developed in old, powerful orks mostly
Like, you know that scene from Dragonball Z, where they convince Super Buu to basically wait for Gotenks to learn their fusion so that Buu will have a good fight? Have people been able to slow down or stop a waggh or large Ork army by getting them to be like "Hey Orks, we have a huge party of ready to fight super troops on the way, but they are 1 year out. If you give us that time, we promise you a super good time!"
The imperium usually will try to get the orks to fight each other
Best case they infight which still isnt good
I figured it was something like that at least
There's a great bit about it in that rouge trader book I mentioned
The orks vs tyranids fiasco
He takes gorgax freebooter to a ork infested planet sets him up as a warboss gives him supplys to cross the great dessert to waaagh on the other ork tribes
So peak
I'm regretting not buying rogue trader when it was on sale. I played it some on game pass. forgot a book was mentioned
There's still 2 unreleased dlc anyway

Worth waiting if you're not really wanting to play it i think
Wait
Were you the one that sent another thing like this maybe a week ago
About the two Ogryn bros
I forget what it was called, but I couldn't find it again
Or maybe it was 2 ork dudes
that were traders on some planet
Im never preordering another owlcat game that's for sure
I bought wotr too late to see their true colors
"Buy the game and dlc! Also the dlc will take years and you secretly only bought half of it"
Like 21 months for the 2 dlc i paid for
Maybe they've got a lot going on i haven't gotten deep into them but still
I hate when developers give us the cake but we can't eat it
Replaying these games is a huge undertaking and you can't really go back from endgame to do the dlc as intended, so i prefer them to be done
But hey maybe ill do a heretic playthrough when they finish the other two dlc in march 2027
It sounded like they were adding the type of stuff that should've been in the game from the start
I liked the hours I played. It was cool to be able to decide things in the 40k verse and be respectable
Having choices was great
Thing I hated the most was how complicated they made learning all the stats and abilities
It's not a very smooth way to get in the game, especially if your'e like me and went from playing bg3 and wanting to experience another good crpg. Thing there were more streamlined and you could focus on teh world/playing vs figuring out all that technical shit
I've seen people talk about it in some reddit threads, how it's "just how their games are".
You should understand that BG3 from a crpg fan's perspective (or a 5e player for that matter) is really simple and limited yeah
They took an extensively playtested already stripped down ruleset and then stripped it down even farther
I can see if that's a positive for players. But I'm curious if they could smooth things out more in the future. I can't imagine anyone saying it would make the game too casual, because I found it very easy. But all the terms and the UI and formulas was a lot for what's supposed to be a easy power fantasy game
This I have heard and understand.
Which is why i'm not like "bro this is stupid bg3 is better'
But just as a new crpg player, it was a sorta annoying hurdle
If you want the bg3 experience play normal and pick thumbs up talents
I hated bg3 after finishing act 2
Act 3 was such a completely piece of shit experience
Though that's still about 5 times as many choices as 5e has you make
I didn't make it out of act 1 ironically d&d is too important to me
God 5e though
5e was my first experience with dnd. But even when i first started, there was some DM's that mentioned how it wasn't this super loved version
Did 5e gut a lot of stuff?
Least flexible chargen ive ever seen in a system meant for extended play
Really weird combat that shows they learned all the wrong lessons from 4e
There's also something that happens that removes one of the things you do when making your char, because it no longer becomes relevant after the reveal. I wont say what tho
Skill design is whatever but the rules provide basically no guidance on dming out of combat
Is it the most popular one atm? or is it just the go to for new playesr
So combat is lame and out of combat is entirely on your dm's shoulders
Most popular but by inertia really
My friend was talking about trying to do dnd online, but 40k themed somehow. was curious what path that would end up being
???
Just play dark heresy or something
Theres like 5 40k ttrpgs
Play gorkamorka
that sounds like a Ork party lol
Its an ork mad max setting its awesome
In physical play you determine vehicle capacity by physically stacking ork models on the vehicle model
LOL
Capacity by pile size
Its old though the rules are rough
Fantasy flight really only figured shit out pretty recently their base system is very quirky
Did you guys know in early edition of wargammwr 40k you could stack as many orks into a trukk as you could fit and it's legal as long as they don't fall off while moving, the ones thar fall off die
So if you had jenga skills you could put 40-50 boys in a single trukk
you have to actually take apart an engine and put it back together to even open the box
can you still do some crazy shit like htis
this
The rule has been removed in table top
I have not played since 5th or 4th I don't think so tho
I do know that you never want to get in mellee w orks there kinda like khorne
That rules been dead since after 2e, nothing that insane since 1e or 2e tbh
is there anything like it though?
Like
the sheer craziness of it
^
There’s still weird and funny mechanics
But that one is way too weird lol
The game needs to be playable
yeah there are still plenty but this is a game you need a game to be playable
"take one unit from the person playing next to you, roll a dice and they get to attack your enemy "
So unfortunately you're gonna have to remove rules like that
It's like a 4th wall break kinda deal lol.
I was surprised to see MTG had cards like that.
This was the meme that made me really wanna play tbh. I looked it up one day and it ended up with me seeing some shit that was just cool
Was like more in depth risk, and risk is my favorite baord game
That's putting it very plainly
Side lore question
In lore, do Arbites actually love their dogs?
Like, are they loyal companions and not just a piece of meat to be ground
It varies
Arbites to arbite
it's a broad question that's answered by the way how humans are each different so it's a it depends
Is there a general mindset at least
no
Well, I gotta imagine they at least care for em
Beyond some basic shit
But idk if there's specific lore on how the imperium treats things like that. Then again, can't you have some random dude turned into a servitor or something because you dont like them?
Don’t abuse it, treat it well
Those are the rules
Fun fact the skitarii dog riders also have rules against abusing the dog
Lol
The punishment for mistreatment of the cybercanid is removal of all cybernetics and being beaten to death
Lol
For mechanicus this is definitely a very deserving punishment
being some cool tech knight and having a badass cyber warhound would be awesome
I wonder if Blank Souls just
Cannot be detected except of course
With the absence of the typical signature
Like Dark Matter
We know it's there and doing shit but it's not like we can see it
i think theres probably a specific level of blank that's like that
more powerful blanks are noticeable voids in the warp (manifesting as being unpleasant to be around), first to psykers and then to regular people
i guess you kinda cant detect a blank's soul because you cant psychically approach them?
kinda like saying somethings undetectable because you put it in a building though
Hope you don’t scream when getting your legs sawn off
They don’t give anesthesia for that part
I mean imagine even most stone hearted Arbites would find some kinship for an ever loyal companion
Even if that companion was artificially altered for serve as effectively as possible
Yes.
Most don't
But some do
Can i do just one arm and one leg
They can call me "Fullmetal Guardsman"
I just started Infinite and The Divine and lowkey Orikan is the worst
Bitter old men the both of them 👴
I can excuse all the horrible people things that happen in 40K, including all the shit the Drukhari are up to. But I draw the line at destroying historical artifacts.
A lot of that happening across the Galaxy I'm sure
Marine question
Can primaris marines use firstborn armor pieces
I like raven guard, but im (gasp) making a chapter of my own and want to known if they can be primaris marines and use beak helmets
If not, they'll just be chadborn marines
They can on both on both questions
Raven Guard Primaris
bitchin
never thought I would be thanking you of all people
but thanks 🥀 🥀
back to headcanoning
i wil pile drive your head through concrete
If you still have a little doubt, check the head option for the primaris upgrade: https://www.warhammer.com/en-CA/shop/Raven-Guard-Primaris-Upgrades-2020?queryID=bb96bced19880a9ab3521416c1ba3026
If anything they're probably the most popular beak head marine group
because bird up
amen
this shit is way easier and harder than expected
everything but their color scheme is dead easy 🥀
artists block is a bitch
Hounskull visor is also a thing in real life and effective at deflecting projectiles.
Hh marines are peak
Sorry *legionares
Honestly I enjoy the setting of the 30th millennium far more, brother against brother massive armies full of legionares dying left right and center, Karking titans , THE BATTLE FOR TERRA
I mean on a game design level it is easier to balance as well
Compared to trying to accurately stat and balance all the factions in 40k
I haven't had the chance to play hh unfortunately
Oof
Well TBH neither have I lol
Always wanted to start a Solar Aux/Militia and Alpha Legion joint force though.
Assuming I have time and money
I like imperial fists , and the knight houses
But yeah the battle for terra is the highpoint of the heresy for me or istvaan iii
Dorn and sigy doing there thing running around terra krumping

That seems abit unfair innit wots a spear gonna do against a shoota
Theys cheatin boss
No, if they do they're arrested by the Marine police!
True facts!
I'm just gonna set my homebrew deep in the ass-end of Segmentum Ultima
No police out there
mmmmh ass end
Hell yeah
then you are gonna fall down the rabbithole of sector-homebrewing

It always starts like this (im a victim of it)
It can be a long and laborious journey
there is one way to solve your problem
The forbidden technique
Fleet based chapter

Don't think GW was that tone deaf
Jarivs pull up nippon units from WHFB
I thought it could be kinda cool to have regiment that come from a backwater feudal world in emporium space only recently charted that suddenly had to revolutionize once the imperium made its tithes
That are kind of brainwashed into a state of full commitment to the emporer as there new to the cause and the emporium seemed the best thing since Bread but there really just cannon fodder however they excel in dogfights and have a unwavering resolve
I think there's a guard regiment in that vague appearance area but it has next to no lore

It's probably on the lexicanum list of guard regiments
I did not know said list existed ty

home work time
Do you wish to hear how a blend of sacred Imperial duty and mysterious rising dread sounds? The harsh ruthlessness of the Warhammer 40,000 universe and the eternal threat to Humanity, embodied in flawless music.
We proudly present you Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Main Theme composed by Paweł Perepelica @weirdsoutherner
Ominous, grim and majes...
4 days until my faction gets shit on by the imperium
Don't cry little xenos fan, James has enough killteam reveals for a lifetime
BRING OUT THE GUARD BOX, BOY IS HUNGRY
SM vs Guard
The new box is custodes and it's 3 models against a bunch of genestealers
That's everyday that ends in -day you silly goose
About 60 points of genestealers take it or leave it
I'm just yappin
Wonder if Fatshark Owlcat will try their hand at the rest of the Fantasy Flight 4K games
fatshark hasn't any of them?
unless you mean owlcat
I would have guessed you had meant:
VT1/2 -> WFRPG, and DT -> Only War ? or Dark Heresy
What is the substance to the claim that all cyber mastiffs feel nothing and are practically lobotomized?
It depend largely
That's what I figured, but people keep doomposting that none of them feel anything
Like at least the mostly organic ones with some augments like the default DT mastiff would have emotions I'd imagine
it depends, most keep their flesh parts , then you have hard case cyber mastiffs
more machine than dog
I feel like R-VRs are the most augmented a mastiff could get without emotional loss
I think it's one exchange from between Arbitrators in DT
No wikis that I've seen mention anything about loss of emotions at all though so that has no substance
But to be honest, it kinda makes sense
Do you remember how it goes?
with how advanced imperium tech is Even hard case mastiffs should be able to keep their emotions
Male Authoritarian : “I noticed your Cyber Mastiff getting startled on our way here from the Valkyrie”
Male Fatalist : “You're seeing things. They don't have emotions”
Male Authoritarian: “Then perhaps some form of Altitude based Malfunction?”
I think it's another 40k thing where the writers can make it however they want
Makes sense the things would be trained for extra obedience and a lack of self preservation to be honest
i mean have you seen the size of these things?
Yup
They are trained dogs for law
They would also need to not pick on fellow Arbitrators
I would've imagined it was Fatalist pointing out the emotion, not Authoritarian
But then again it doesn't feel like the Arbites are talking about themselves quite as much as the rejects yet
No I'm sure it's the Authoritarian noticing the Mastiff's reaction
It implies the Fatalist hasn't mangled his Mastiff as he should have had
Authoritarian is the one that points out and starts the conversation, compared to the other arbites
he is really nice
Maybe it's required in certain sects to totally lobotomize them?
I could see that being the case
Maybe
So in Fatalist's sect it could be required but he managed to not make it so and is trying to hide that?
I've heard a few Arbites/Arbites conversations
This feels like a 99% speculation 1% objectivity conversation, which is neat but I wish we had just a little more to go on
It's very probable since the point of his character is that he's actually somewhat disillusioned with the way to do his work
I mean just listening to their opening dialogue when you hover over them and the character creation
Fatalist knows the lex is flawed
but it's the only thing they have so they will follow it
I kinda wanna chirurgeon my fembites personality
Authoritarian's VA is cool but a lot of the lines aren't impactful
GAMES WORKSHOP DROP CORVUS AS A WARP DAEMON AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
Do we have the Robert Rath yuri book yet
I don't think so
Sad...
in a really fucked up manner lol
Oh, it's about the Dryad abducted by a Slaaneshi cult
Toxic yuri?
I need to read it!
Robert Rath + AoS = Win
I wouldn't even call it that
they make friends with one of the slaaneshi cultists
for uh
their own plans
I think they have a little talk about Human reproduction too
in comparison to sylvaneth yes
lol
There is a twist by the end of the book
its a good one imo
The sylvaneth ARE slaaneshi!
Which you know, is just what you want to ask Slaanesh worshippers about
Not really
Look, brutally killing those Cities of Sugmar nerds was necessary
But they're more used to dealing with Nurgle
Killing those civilians slowly and painfully is ideal for our morale
This pleases the sylvaneth
tbh I find the relationship with greywater fastness hilarious
there's one road out
Those are Spite Revenants
the sylvaneth light the road with wisps and other sylvaneth plants
make friends with one of the slaaneshi cultists
you convincing an ironjaw to join you on your journey to beat up stuff is a better choice
if you leave the road
you disappear forever
but its not really much of a mystery why you disappear

tbh I do find it hilarious the Sylvanneth only take people at night
I just want to pick up a couple of bundles of stick as a souvenir...
Should be alright
if they leave the road
DO IT DURING THE DAY
Doing it at night is genuinely asking for some sort of horrifying death
to Sylvaneth or one of the natural predators
tbf
why the fuck would you ever leave the road at night in a forest
both IRL and in fiction

Curious
Yeah
if you're in a slasher movie mindset
those are the 3 given reasns

in soulbound lol
only idiots leave the road
Its literally naturally lit
and protected
you are as safe as you can be on it lol
Maybe I see a mysterious maiden wearing white I just want to follow her and see if she's okay...
I don't think she'll appreciate that
because i really want to fight the thing in the woods
It will make for a good trophy
What if the sylvaneth woods were just full of Orks at night?
ngl I miss the sylvaneth rules to just
overgrow terrain
that was so cool lol
The forest eats your terrain

also try telling that to this guy
said the villain of the week
Maybe the sylvaneth should be nicer.....
Maybe the stupid cities shouldn't horribly pollute the swamp
me when ultra plot armor
NEXT
the sylvaneth are only hostile to greywater fastness bcs of how much of a polluted shithole
they managed to make the surrounding marshes lol
now hand over the city
they're usually isolationist yeah?
I imagine these guys are isolationists
