When Arbites?
June 23rd
man these are gonna be the slowest 3-4 days of my life
Lex Imperialis is on the 24th
Yea, great I've got the weekend off to do nothing and then it releases on Monday when I'm going to be working constant overtime all week
So.
Guilliman and Yvraine....
What exactly is going on there. (Kind of new to WH lore)
Nothing
What about Grayfax and Celestine?
Sorry all I know is the Blood Ravens and Krieg are badass ...all the smurfs suck except 2 .. and that Malum Caedo is the strongest space marine.
guilliman and yvraine only get talked about because people are so marvel-brained they see two characters in a room and immediately assume they're banging
what actually happened was that yvraine saved guilliman's life because one of the eldar's prophecies said he had to live
What about Grayfax and Celestine? I heard they are the legit LGBT+ Romance of the 40k verrse.
and that was about it
There's tension between them that they eventually get over and manage to work together, people meme it as romantic tension but dunno since I've not read it personally
there's LGBT romance already in 40k, but i dont think it involves Celestine in any respect considering she's essentially a demigod
and not hardly human anymore
Oh yea and there is somthing about the Dark Eldar being scared of space sharks.
what?
Never heard of that one
Step 1: ignore every video like that
there's better sources for 40k than youtubers, whom are usually incentivized to be hyperbolic to get more clicks
Or just know the lore via memes
frankly for your questions the best source is lexicanum
== The Community Created Warhammer 40,000 Encyclopedia ==
Lexicanum is a fan-made encyclopedia based on the successful online database Wikipedia and is about the fictional setting in which the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000 and other games produced by Games Workshop and its subsidiaries and license holders. Each of you has the possibility to t...
Ah so does everyone NOT hate the Emperor's Children or is that true.
just look up the topic you're curious on and it'll tell you everything with citations
again that's overblown, chaos is by and large equally self-loathing as an umbrella faction
Videos like this will usually take a single line of text from a Codex and then stretch it into a 20 minute video by blowing it out of proportion and making shit up to make it seem like a huge thing
"The MOST BRUTAL Imperial Guard Regiment you've EVER seen..." and its just talking about Death Korps shovelmania
I did see a meme that the Blood Ravens have a rivalry with a necron named Tazran.
yeah that is completely just people making a meme out of something that was already a meme
people call it memelore by this point, its just jokes that are so old that people start to confuse them for the actual lore
Ah last time I tried to join a 40k message board it was a massive debate about if the "Femstodes" should be considered canon or not.
Trayzen The Infinite because they both steal stuff? Yeah that's meme lore
Then why all the blacklash.
blood ravens' thievery is in of itself memelore
Idiots
People got too amped up over the idea that apparently custodes were to be all men, like space marines, despite the fact that they're made differently
a lot of chuddery, i assume
Also yeah that
frankly i always considered it a nothingburger anyway, custodes lore in general is obnoxious and terrible to me
Ah yes people who think Strong female woman automaticly = woke sweet baby inc train wreck.
It's really just a whatever statement
Basically yep
Yea lore has never outright enforced Custodes being all men, people just assumed that was the case and then got annoyed when it wasn't
40k has a proud tradition of chudposting like this
The only line that leans into the whole men thing is a bit of lore that states that nobles gave their sons over to be turned into custodes
like the infamous black ultramarine incident
But meh, whatever
Yea my housemate was talking about how there was a big scandal a while back because a racsit won a 40k tourniment.
^
discord servers can have auto-filters on words
Their only point is the mentions of like "Sons" and "Brotherhood", but grammatically the English language typically defaults to male gendered terms when referring to mixed groups. So it's not confirmation of only men.
terran nobles are handing out their sons like candy it seems
custodes and imperial fists both
they're gonna run out at that rate
I mean Harld Hammerstorm used to be called Uthmar Elvenbane its not the first time GW retconned stuff.
there's lots of retcons in 40k lore
Ditto with necrons and squats, GW has done a bunch of retconning
Yep, GW retcons lore every edition and has since the 80s
1st edition 40k is like a completely different setting
The Primarchs weren't even the Emperors sons when the game started, they were just high ranking generals
Yea I dont know a lot about 40k but I do know a bit about fant for example the End Time originally ended with the 40k equivalate of Gazgul running up and kicking Abaddon in the nuts headbutting him then running off.
Again dont know who those are just asked my frioend the 40k equivalnet of Grimgor and Archaeon.
Yeah I recall that ending happening with End Times
Na in the end times Girmgor tried to but got boddied by a bloodthrister.
in the STorm of Chaos (The orgional ending to the end times) Grimsgor ran up Kicked Archaeon in the nuts headbutted him so hard he shattered the Everchosen's helm then ran off shouting that he was the best.
And Chaos just decided to call off the invasion for now.
Yeah I recall it, then GW changed the ending because they wanted it to end in a certain way
Yea and we ended up with Age of Suckmar.
Age of Sigmar is actually so good
I recommend you check the lore out because it's pretty rad
Not if you were a Bretonian player.
At this point the new AoS models are better than the new 40k ones
Or and ogres or a Tomb Kings.
Yeah the Knight aesthetic unfortunately has been left in the dust until GW AoS-ifies it
But I at least have my Lumineth so I'm still satisified
Ogors are VERY cool, and I say that as an Ogre Stan
Ogres are still around, they just got a different name
And my fave faction the Lizardmen.
Plus like if you want to play Bretonnia or Tomb Kings then you can go play Old World
They still exist
Doesn't Old World not use AOS rules?
They're still the same, just called Seraphon now
Exaclty GW brought back old World.
Don't think so
Old World and AoS use very different rules I think
Don't have any evidence for that, but I don't think they're the same
Yeah I haven't played Old World but IIRC it's more like a Fantasy that isn't unplayably broken
Yea as far as I'm aware it's like WHFB except people actually want to play it
I play a lot of TWW.
Yea, also don't trust oldheads talking about Warhammer Fantasy, people will tell you it was the best thing even until GW stole it away but in truth GW killed it because it was a dieing game that wasn't making money and was losing players.
and honestly the few people who were still playing it just kept playing it amongst themselves
The only reason anyone nowadays cares about Fantasy is down to 3 main reasons
- Some of the novels were pretty good
- Endtime being handled badly became a meme
- Total War Warhammer
If TTW never came out and Endtimes were just mid instead of laughably bad then it would have just been forgotten
rocks fell and everyone died
3.) Was my thing, and I didn't really play it that much. That and VT2 a bit
I'm glad it got me into fantasy tbh
my only fantasy experience was the mmo, and vt
Otherwise yeah I wouldn't give much of a shit about fantasy
the age of reckoning trailer went hard

I'll always remember the orc-a-pult
yeah
sigma priests activated neurons when I was a boy
not enough to actually get into fantasy
what are we mad about this time?
The lizardmen deserved to solo end times smh
Also did Sigmar invite them to bring their space ships into the new world or did they just kinda show up and he didn't really care
i still be playing RoR
its one of the best MMOs if what you like are massive battles
now I do not have time
Mark of chaos was a really good game
i always got hard stuck on the dark elf mission lol
where you had to stop the messangers, i was too dumb to figure it out
I’m trying to come up with a description of the ridiculously obtuse Mechanicus esque rituals to activate and lift off with a thunderhawk, largely because of a lack of technical knowledge of how you fly a plane lmao, any suggestions?
Best I’ve got is beseeching the machine spirit to enlighten us with the status of its blessed form, and chanting “all systems operational” several times for a pre flight check that amounts to turning on and reading a screen
I don’t know beyond that
I haven’t delved much into portraying just how draconian and monotonous the rituals “necessary” to utilize imperial technology, and I really wanna hammer home just how slow and unnecessary it is for what really amounts to simple tasks
Generally for any aeroplane there's three main stages.
Taxiing (plane moving on the runway + communicating with air traffic), take-off (going at least 35 feet off the runway using the momentum ) , and then the ascension.
So I assume the air traffic communication would be mixed in with a lengthy prayer
Along with that, you could also take inspiration from ship/nautical rituals
Priests used to sprinkle holy water on the ship’s deck and offering prayers for calm seas and a successful journey. Passengers, especially immigrants leaving Europe for America, frequently participated by bringing their own religious items, such as crucifixes or prayer cards, which they would have blessed before boarding.
So I could imagine something similar to a "safe passage" type of ritual for each aircraft.
With the soldiers participating themselves.
There's also the good old "breaking a bottle of champagne against a ship"
Which is basically christening it
I can imagine the Imperium doing that for aircraft and spaceships as well
He is def doing something a bit suspicious
Him saying "I'm running out of time" is interesting
Exactly!
Atm there isn't really any red flags
He is most likely in the Spire of Tertium, trying to find the Nobles backing the Admonition cult
How much time has actually passed though?
Prolly less then 2 years
That's still a lot of time, even if it is just a drop in the ocean for the Warhammer 40k setting.
Hella sus Inquisitor
They all sus
Lol idk but every time I see an Inquisitor in a video game, they be sus or over zealous. If they likable or friendly.. they probably sus and chaos warp corrupted . If they evil or classic meme Inquisitor, probably a loyalist.
Space Marines 1 taught me this.
At least for the most part.
Big SUS!
Probably desperate to stop Teritum from going to shit
Undersupplied
Desperate enough to use death row prisoners as fodder
**Or he sus! **
Maybe

Tbf the Inquistor was actually chill beforehand.
The problem is that he died
And then Chaos took over his body
Oh shit, I wasn't paying attention then. Lol
Maybe the Inquisitor Grendyle not sus, but probably died.. then got possessed.
Pretty much
Tbh I just think the man is desperate enough to do something crazy
But given that the situation in Teritum isn't good
Uh
Yeah

Usually daemons like Chaos Spawns and the Nurgle Dogs (tm) being summoned means some bad shit is going down
The Beasts of Nurgle are probably one of the most fucked up things Nurgle did honestly
But is also the perfect example of what Nurgle represents
**The end times!
Quickly, we must make sure the tithe is paid in full, then nuke the planet from orbit!**
Beasts of Nurgle literally are basically just puppies in giant infectious bodies
All of their attacks and shit are literally just playing to them
Like the weird goo? Basically slobber from licking you.
Yeah, it's apparently bad to kill one. They come back and hunt you down or something.
Kind of, they are mentally incapable of comprehending
That
They are causing harm
It doesn't require killing them just once byw
Oh..
It basically requires multiple kills from different humans
They keep trying to play
Cooked either way.. damn.
Not understanding that they're causing harm
All they know is that they're getting hurt for seemingly no reason
I've killed so many, lost track. Lol
So like an abused dog, they become aggressive
And also depressed
That's the fly
It's them basically crashing out
And becoming permanently depressed and angry

Which is fucked if you think about it
The entire purpose of the Beasts is to be beaten and abused to the point where they become aggressive
Although either way, you're kinda cooked

It shows Nurgle's true side
He's not the kindly grandfather
He's the abusive one that beats you.
Tells you "This is all your fault. Look at what you made me do."
Love bombs you.
Repeat.
In a fucked up cycle
Nurgle bad. Lol
It's funny that some people actually think he's good. Then again.. looking at IRL.. there are some very low IQ people around the world who support bad stuff and bad people etc.
Like it should be common sense that the stank demon is bad. Lol

I mean, all of Chaos is bad. Always have been.
Sucks for Zola though. Especially since we know that her brother turned to chaos.
Tragic
Chaos is bad but unfortunately it's easy to trip into
And the Imperium doesn't
Exactly
Help

Is the fully robotic dog skin exclusive to the deluxe addition?
Also isnt that outlawed as AI?
Nah
Basically AI needs to actually be Sapient
The Imperium has actual robots
Also since the Robot Dog is simulating well
A dog
An animal
Fr?
It isn't AI
Robots are artificial constructs capable of completing complex tasks automatically. Robots are used by a variety of factions across the Galaxy both past and present.
Keep in mind, the Imperium is still futuristic
The average cogitator is probably leagues better than our computers
I might get the deluxe just for the fully robo dog then
Pretend like its this lol
They're officially called Cyber-Mastiffs
I mean the closest thing fo actual machine spirits would bs an AI
Wouldnt that only be if they're augmented dogs?
Also apparently it has the brain of a dog
So not AI
Cyber-Mastiffs are mechanical creatures that resemble a metal hound, who are guided by the brain and nervous system of a hunting creature after such components have been integrated by members of the Adeptus Mechanicus. It is also not uncommon, however, to see purely biological canines who have received some form of cybernetic upgrades.[1][2]
Just like drugs and drug addicts.

Apparently they can literally tear off an Ogryn's arm with just one snap of it's jaws
Imagine actually using something like this
I dont think the jaws can fit around ine
One*
Yeah wasn't AI banned?
It has dog brain
Yeah, I know but wasn't AI banned? I think it was.
Yeah
100%
But the AI actually needs to be intelligent enough to be sentient.
Basic AI like say Alexa are fine
They aren't counted as AI
Can't have sky net. I think there was a Skynet in lore event that happened and Big E watched a few Terminator movies.
The Men of Iron started going batshit.
Wasn't even a sky net situation. More like they just started fighting each other for varied reasons
Like humans
We don't even know how it began, what happened, or how it even ended
All we know is that because of it, AI was banned
So the servitors have human souls, or spirits for most of the machinery or what we think is AI is actually spirits or souls or brain in jar 2.0 or something like that. While being aware but can't control yourself or do much anything etc.
And that it was only one of the several catastrophes
Luv muh grim dark
That brought Humanity from it's DAoT level tech
Down to uh
Mad Max but with bolters
A major crash out
Kinda but some MoI actually helped humanity
While some went against
More like a complicated war
Also as a random fun fact
The T'au have a Kill on Sight list
Space Marines are a part of it
Because they hate Xenos
So fucking much
That even Chaos Space Marines are still genocidal towards them
as all good former and current emperor loving humans should
99% of you already know this
But it is just fucking funny to me
Like they are allied with fucking bloodthristers and shit
And they're like
"Ewww their faces look like fish"
BLAM

Like you are allied with MFS with Claw Hands
You could at least consider possibly not killing them to kill the Imperium
But they can't even do that
That was what happened on Terra, but galaxy wide it was a lot different. Planets coped differently, some same as Terra, in other places people just went on with their days
Even after the age of strife there were miracle world like Prospero
The sheer total scale of the revolt implies it was at least partially a Skynet situation, and the similarly sheer variance of AI WMDs necessitated at least two or three kinds of Skynet-tier AI for those weapons to function; see: nanobot plagues
Nice pfp
Were the ultramarines always the poster boys or were there another marine chapter in the light before?
crimson fists where for a while iirc
ofc they look a hell of a lot like ultramarines so lmao
Yeah I'd say Crimson Fists, too
Other than that, no-one really comes to mind
Ultramarines have been the poster boys since Second Edition iirc
it basically went crimson fists for a short time then ultramarines afaik
so they have basically always been the poster boys because the crimson fists are literally just ultramarines with red hands
dispite being an imperial fists successor lmao
In lore, what are the naming conventions by Arbites for their dogs?
Do they even have names? Or just designations?
i'd say space wolf has taken the spotlight here and there
recently they also got a lot of minis too
They can be named yeah, and anything ya want. They're dogs
any basic dog name can literally work
it doesn't have any latin or language related thing
Ripjaw is what i will call mine
think i will name mine Opus
Do black templars worship the emperor as a man or a god?
A god 100%
They are unique in that regard
But it’s also really boring to me because that’s 99% of the imperium
I like the space wolf viewpoint of “He is just a man, after all, a god fighting gods is child’s play, but a man fighting gods is the stuff of legendary sagas!”
crimson fists were on the 1st edition cover
then 2nd edition was bright coloured blood angels
then 3rd edition cover was grimdark black templars
thats kind of just the codex covers tho, i think ultras might have been the main box art since 3rd?
the 3rd edition starter set was black templars vs dark eldar actually
4th edition starter set was battle for macrage so deffo ultramarines there
looks like ultras ever since 4th edition
Normal dog names, serial number, vat grown name + number, dog name + serial number

Do GSC typically worship their patriarch as The Emperor, or like an Angel sent by him or something?
I don’t think they even think of tyranids as the Emperor usually that I’ve seen
Depends on the cult.
I thought they generally think of the hive mind as the Emperor or some otherwise unseen being
GSC are "smart", they'll adapt to what ever is the closest and most useful religion to mimick
And the nids as angels
^
Again anything.
As long as its "holy" and religious in nature.
Ok doke, just wanted to make sure there weren’t any hard requirements before I go ahead and write one
When in doubt, read the lexicanum.
Nah, they know it's not the same, but having a "normal" religious figure make it easier to get new people in to turn
Glory to the Monarch Transcendent!
Mine is on a shrine world so it’s very much gotta stay close to the norms
To continue existing
GSC is simply subversion made manifest
I would argue a shrine world would be a great place to make a... more weird GSC
"The saint's arms reach out to all of us"
(the saint is the patriarch)
Well yeah but I mean they have to use orthodox terms
You can’t be like “The great serpent springs from the void towards us to return us to our deliverance!” That’s gonna raise some eyebrows
Yeah something like the order of the clawed saint can exist in that place
It's just an example it's not a thing
doesnt have to be obvious
i heard a short story about a GSC that got new converts by spreading a rumor about a great treasure at a lost hive at the end of an abandomed railway line
In all honesty, GSC use a lot of Emperor imagery only for the practicality of avoiding investigation
Before the cult has fully matured in size
Outside of Imperial context they will most likely adapt as needed
Imagine a world that is mostly Chaos inclined, and there is a GSC that's trying to set itself up and is confused on whoe to do it
i think honestly chaos it's probably gonna be impossible
Those guys have a natural knack of detecting the power of their gods and fellow followers and brothers in arms
eh, depends on the type of chaos worshipping planets
if it's like word bearers propa religious it's gonna be hard
if it's just like random chaos shite? they' probably just set themselves up as another cult promising power or w/e
yeah the more advanced the cult gets the more difficult it is for them to ingratiate themselves
Psure there’s a nurgle GSC
Yep, Cult Tenebrous
Yeah I like to think that
Some went Skynet
Some decided to take over territory to protect themselves against the Skynet mfs
Some got corrupted and went fucking insane
Basically just a fucked up mixture
Like you said. The sheer scale caused the AIs to react differently
Tbf, that's more of a GSC that got affliced by Nurglite rot and turned to Nurgle
Rather than GSC trying to remain as is and take over later
He does say the kid is probably gonna get killed and looted for that cloak so lol
i mean hey
he gave the kid an expensive ass cloak
So if the kid survives he now has some of the greatest drip in the Galaxy at least
That boy was definitely killed within the week
eh survival of the fittest
An adult, probably
I think the boy lived
I think I will finish imperial agent story in swtor and quit it
When is the next sale on Warhammer games
Probably the best way to play Swtor
Nooooo.
I mean of course they are real
Maybe it was a dream
dilara thirst trapping custodes in lore chat
they need to put their armor back on and go out and do something
jesus
And if they had gone out before the rift, then that might never have happened. Probably.
I’m really debating it, but I still have to go through that fuckass ea app even on steam
The curve is insane
I havent seen EA app nor epic in a whiiile
And I have the game on epic
I don't even need to open them when I use the shortcut
And them running in the back doesn't effect me, tho I turn off every background app when not gaming anyway
So it is no big deal
The game is so worth it it is extremely fun
See, I just wish EA were a competent company. Because I pre ordered the game when it first came out, maxed out a Buncha stuff
And there aren't much sweating
But that’s all on Xbox so I can’t play it lmao
Cuz no ranks or anything
U can just play co op with random people and mow down bots to level up units
So much fun
Yeah
Heroes vs villains too when you get the hang of it
Leveling heroes is a pain tho
Been getting better at it, made it into top 5 of a supremacy match today, new for me
ALSO
I got those unique preorder skins and stuff
It has been going up since morning
Booooo, booooooo you EA
Also celebration edition has every cosmetic except the preorder Rey skin
Mhm
I don't think there is any other stuff you can't get
Some milestone skins
The Rey easter egg skin
That's it, rest is unlocked instantly
I think there’s a yoda star card? It’s that or they just gave you it maxed out for free
Every infantry skin is unlocked
Probably just maxed out
Ye and every reinforcement and everything
Yup yup
No microtransactions
Man
Tho u can still buy tokens and get currency by playing
They can be used for nothing
One of two games I ever pre ordered, love it
(The other was that first Jurassic park building game)
New official Guilliman art
My man needs a hug from Lion as soon as Immaterially possible
And also new Szarekh art, too
he looks older in this art for some reason
I imagine everything he’s got going on is NOT great for his beauty sleep
true
It’s the artists style I’d assume
its the sunken cheeks and hair looking almost white, ether way i do like that he looks older now
Where is this from?

@arctic talon star wars question
i probably missed that part but where does the super special imperial ship in andor go
the hyper tie fighter
to the bin of cameos dave filoni can one day throw in
i feel like it could have been useful during rogue one
The Tie Avenger, it's basically a prototype but with it being stolen and too expensive it never entered full production
But apparently it's designs went into the cheaper Tie Interceptor
yes but what happened to the one in the show
we dont know
i already guessed it's some macguffin rare prototype #594 thing
Yea we don't know, the show doesn't tell us and we've not got follow up side content yet
i thought it was like darth vader's ship for a second
The Tie fighters were ass lmao
Only Vader's prototype wasn't
Presumably because his inner pilot would probably throttle most of the officers for daring to give him such a shit ship

i found it odd that it had 2 jump seats in the back like it's meant to also be a drop ship
they're bad until a main character uses one
anyways i'm just surprised that the advanced tie thing wasn't used for a plot reason. season 2 starts off with it as if it was going to serve some future need
chekhov's gun and stuff
The Clone Wars era ships were better tho
Like the Tie fighter was faster and had more agilty than the X-wing
If there is one thing I do love about the Tie Fighters it's the engine sounding like Screaming
There is one thing that I praise George Lucas for
It's the sound direction
From the Lightsaber Hum, Darth Vader's breathing, it still holds up today.
wasnt the TIE Advanced based on the TIE bomber?
i thought the whole thing about the tie is that it's cheap and complements the star destroyers
empire not caring about the lives of its pilots is on brand
So deploy 100 of them and swarm everything
Basically, an actual thing I like about Star Wars is how they actually detailed why certain things were designed a certain way.
Then the Interceptor was even faster, had greater agility and firepower, they were intended to replace the Tie Fighter
my favorite is like
"lets retcon vader suit to be a literal torture-contraption"
one of the funniest fucking thing sever

The Clone Wars and Rogue One were basically "noodle incidents" turned into actual media. And both were actually pretty interesting.
I thought you were going to say your favourite Tie variant
It's almost like exploring another galaxy is actually interesting instead of rehashing the same SHIT-
he seemed to be way less comfortable outside the suit than in it during the real movies
Tbf, if you look at the fucking thing...
yeah nah that would be awful to wear
Tie Striker is peak
Tbf it's still covering his literal burnt skin
it legit looks fine
they just retconned it so that every part is a fucking torture device
or amazon product
its great
empire fighters being slight variations of the tie fighters you'd see made by a fan with photoshop
Like imagine just rocking up with a Tie Reaper and a squad of Strikers
It's probably to explain away how lame the lightsaber fights were in the first actual movies.
Since 1970s
bruh
The Lightsaber props were flimsy so to actually use them would probably cause them to shatter
I do like how the modern movies interpreted Vader's new "style"
Instead of agile and berserker like Anakin was in the prequels.
It's more slow and methodical strikes.
Putting his entire weight into it basically.
Along with using as less actual effort as possible due to how much he abuses the force part.
watching andor made me think about how many stormtrooper armor kits they have for when the stunt actors have to jump around and immediately scratch the shit out of the white plastic
More importantly, why the fuck would they make most of the oufits bright ass white
because it looks cool
dude I know right
In terms of pure aesthetic, I like Stormtrooper armor better than the Clone Armor.
Please don't servitorize me
the only thing i find uncool about the og stormtroopers is how clearly oversized the helmets are
you can't even lower your head
and when they walk it looks weird
i bet the original 70's helmets were super hard to see out of too
Honestly weirdly enough that's why I like it.
It's similar to how WW1 Stormtroopers were, they specifically wore heavy armor, so to have that along with the oversized helmet shows their "bulk".
So to speak.
Now if only the armor was actually more effective

if only that mattered in a setting where a small blaster pistol defeats every armor
Tank Trooper supremacy
what about that rocket launcher trooper during the start of season 2 andor
that guy had drip like what the hell
Like they were supposed to be Elite after all. I like to think that the suits were specifically for space combat.
Weight doesn't matter that much in space stations, and it's good enough outside of that.
Honestly, if I were to be in charge of a reboot, I would have the Stormtrooper armor explicitly be heavier, but also be able to actually tank blaster shots.
Ahktually Stormtrooper armour isn't designed to block blaster shots, it's designed to dissipate the energy of the shot throughout the armour, so the wearer gets knocked out rather than killed.
so all the fallen down stormtroopers are canonically sleeping?
Makes sense honestly.
Most bulletproof armor doesn't prevent the bullet from hurting.
It just prevents it from fucking killing you
You're still gonna be knocked on your ass and groaning in pain.
Yea it's basically to stop lethal hits, but you're going to hurt and get incapacitated
Although it's weak to like blunt force
So like all those troopers that got rocks thrown at them by Ewoks are dead
and probably eaten
Honestly would've had a scene where a Stormtrooper just eats a shot, groans/yelps in pain, but still moves forward to fucking kill you.
Now that would've been terrifying.
Also the bulky helmets are probably made to help aid in the blaster force dissapation.
Especially if it hits in the head.
Interesting all things considered.
that's just weird lmao
You'd think with all of that material, it would block the rock.
it's not weird, it's lore written backwards to justify the trilogy
and I think also weak to like slugthrowers
Then again, probably not written that way to like
okay lemme reword this
probably not written until after the trilogy
there we go
like jay said
I think slugthrowers are funny tbh
"Hey, you might have a cool laser gun. But I have an actual gun!"
BLAM
Genuinely wonder why don't more star wars mfs use them
In lore
blasters are cool
Final Dawn of Fire book, The Silent King
Like 40k is actually better at justifying it.
"Yeah, you see, the Lasgun is actually better. It's just that either way you're fucked if you're up against a tyranid swarm."
The thing about slugthrowers is they are so outdated compared to blasters that people stopped wearing armour to protect from them and that made them useful again

btw what's up with andor's blaster. for like one episode he's seen attaching a barrel to it to make it into a sniper
that's a cool ass blaster
He did that in Rogue One as well
probably to sell a toy but still
It was a thing in the first Battlefront remake
You could like modify the blaster into different modes
Reminds me of how some communications use really outdated tech to stop people from spying on them.
I think another similar example is in Cyberpunk 2077, where to contact the NUSA president, you use a regular ass landline phone.
Since it's a futuristic cyberpunk world, nobody uses those anymore.
that's pretty cool
With Johnny even showing you how to use it which was a neat detail.
also i noticed that the han solo blaster is seen at the last episode of andor
probably just an easter egg
or they had a box full of props
Apparently you can modify a blaster to make people bleed
or just
both
Red is apparently the least effective due to it using "cheap" gas
The DL-44 is a common choice of blaster for military personnel
Also Blasters are specifically Plasma.
Only the ships and Death Star use lasers
Which... is strangely realistic
Lasers are considered to be used for anti-air rn
iirc droidikas also used turbo lasers
mfing Dragonfire
and i only noticed it used once in the show
when it was prominently displayed in a shot
We get to see Death Lasers in the near future
YIPPEE!!
Blaster cannons
Blaster cannons, not turbo-lasers
Turbolasers are huge
the fact the naked eye cant see the beam makes it all the more terrifying
ah right
infrared is normal for lasers
Kyber Crystals are also one of the few cool details of the Disney Lore
Especially with the Sith having to essentially harm them to use them.
also the fact that you can see the entire beam instead of the dot means the air is being ionized by the heat it gives off
Which fits both of the side's philosophies
The distinct red color is by forcing it to bleed
are they a Disney lore thing?
they where in KOTOR
and the older comics
They were a thing in Legends, but most of the modern details we have are Disney lore
what's the lore of those rogue one empire robots
security droids
The KX?
because they generally attack people that cant defend themselves
made to deal with riots and watch prisoners
yeah that lol
we see one eating like 20 blasters shots
i feel like if you gave them a big ass gun they'd be super soldiers
well there you go
combat droids where outlawed by the empire
They were also used during the purge of Mandalore
star wars terminators
you know the one that gets rammed by a truck
i thought it would survive that
probably too expensive to produce en mass
also a lot of droids are sentient and if they go against you
like
the fuck are YOU supposed to do now

are they not already sentient
yeah
iirc the droids are programed to be ultra loyal
and if that fails restraining bolts are a thing
So funny that Battle droids were illegal, so they made the KX droids and called them a security droid instead
yup
Not for Battle I swear
that's pretty funny
Its like how White Phosphorous is "totally only for acting as flares just trust me"

(That is the official military excuse for their use btw)
it's an anti material rifle sir, it's only made to kill material
hey if any sod is dumb enough to be under the flair thats on them
convenient that people are also made of material
never mind the fact that we fired the flair into a bunker
Yeah, they just need to dodge the several gas bombs I'm dropping on them.
Just play touhou irl
smh
the shit you can get away with on these technicalities to too funny in a grim and morbid kind of way
"Bro this isn't an abominable intelligence, just trust me" - Cawl
yup
As human as thinking
i wonder if by building a death star the empire would have even actually won full dominance
congratulations you've blown up half the galaxy and now you own barely anything
Sorry, was delayed - like Larmoth said, Kyber crystals were always a thing in Legends, but modern stuff like Sith bleeding their crystals to turn them red is a Disney invention. In Legends, red crystals are a synthetic approximation of Kyber crystals since Sith don't go to Ilum to claim a real one
It's equivalent to like Trump's military parade in terms of wastefulness.
Except it's at least much cooler
what's the plan anyways? blow up any planet that has rebels?
Leverage basically
"Don't rebel, else you will be fucking space dust"
Like MAD, except only one person has it
Death Star is the pinncale of the Tarkin Doctrine. "Fear will keep the systems in line, fear of this Battlestation"
didn't seem to work prior
The idea being after using it on Alderaan and Yavin, people would simply give up
Again, I think the disney version is actively cooler.
The Dark Side is based on dominance and power primarily.
So of course forcing the crystal to work for your will
And essentially abusing it to work
fits very well.
i wonder what other kind of wacky shit the empire would have come up with once the death star inevitably failed at stopping people from rebelling
Because the Tarkin Doctrine is dumb, it diverted resources from actually useful military projects to super weapons and intimidation over strategic effectiveness
Probably something absolutely insane.
If you want some laughs, search up the wunderwaffen.
Nazi Germany did basically make the first jet.
The problem is that it's fuel was so acidic that if one step of the loading process was wrong... you'd uh
basically melt slowly while flying
laati do you think i dont know what a wonder waffle is
I'm okaaay with it but the inconsistency with bleeding makes me mostly dislike it. I generally prefer synthetic crystals because they cement the fact that the Sith aren't supposed to exist, while bleeding crystals retroactively blurs that line and makes them more connected to the Jedi
sounds like every military dictatorship
I actually like the line being blurred primarily because I always liked the idea that the Sith are essentially an extreme response to the Jedi.
Like the complete and utter opposite.
Jedi, Sith... they're all nerds.
so true
If I had the force I'd just be chill
i do love how self sabotaging the empire is, i could almost make a real life parallel
To each their own ig. I prefer the Sith being manifested null entities as opposed to just being Dark Jedi
instead i will compare to the imperium
honestly I think that they should've moved away from the Sith so I do agree on some level also
Like
The Sith is just ONE manifestation of the dark side
It could easily have more factions that are a part of it.
star wars is locked into sith vs jedi for mainstream
Probably ended up with one of the groups Luthen was working with
might have been torn apart for parts and research
or it was used
again, hate that shit
its obviously being used as a testbed for stuff
as I always said
it better come back in a future show
jedi are just space marines
no, thats clone troopers
My interpretation is that the main goal wasn't even to gain the Ship, it was just to disrupt the Empire by taking it
I know this because every marine player I know plays Clone troopers in star wars legion
takes all the spotlight
/hj
Yeah the loss of that ship probably really hurt
bcs they shoved a bunch of tech onto it to test
functionally they have the inquisitor cool factor but they have the space marine branding opportunity
along with the ship itself being another expensive experiment
Yep
one of my friends was asying like
if Luthen is a jedi
hes gonna kill himself

not gonna lie me too
The theory I kept on hearing was Luthen is a jedi and he's hiding his lightsaber in his cane
i'm glad he was just
YEP
some normal dude
you need to watch the RLM review of Andor S1
just a concealed knife
"OH NO"
is there even a single lightsaber seen in the show
or blaster lol
"noooooOOO"
You see bits of one in Luthen's shop
that must be a record for disney right
Loved the reveal tbh
not sure if you'd count that
aauagghh
also what happens to the chick
the blond who ends up in prison
Dedra?
she probably killed herself
She ends up in prison
deserved
Maybe she ended up getting "amniesty"
I am of the opinion she would eventually jump on the floor
true!
she'll make all the prisoners become her simp
one of my favorite bits of the show, i need some shit like that to happen to a 40k imperial protagonist
I love how she puts her head into her hands
realizing all she did was for fucking nothing
its so good man
if they find out she's ISB she might get fucking lynched lol
fascists ousting each other is great
and ironically her track record would make her a prime target for the New Republics Imperial rehabilitation project, since they wouldn't know the worst she's done
the show does have a theme with the empire eventually leading everybody to ruin no matter their intentions
which is like far from the worst imperial rehabilitated
interacting with the empire is always a negative
its an allegory yeah
When do they put this glup shitto in a Disney Star wars show
that one Ghorman senator said it best
"Its my people today, yours tomorrow"
one of my favorite quotes i think
ISB deathmarch™
there's very straightforward nazi imagery
like much more than usual i say
its not really that forward i think
the Imperials use
most people got no idea
you really feel that empire officers are gestapo in this show
like that trooper arresting andor on the beach
not giving a shit about if he was involved
it was anxiety inducing
every time a character runs in the show the empire still finds them
its what comes to my mind when 40k dumbasses are like "id love to live on a normal thats like ours as a hive"
yeah
then an enforcer would do that scene to you lmao
all because he prob has a quota to meet
and is a piece of shit
the average person in the imperium
like when the characters are at the farm. that made me think of another movie i think
i don't remember what movie
or book
with the nazis that take residence in a farm house
no an actual touching story
it's like a farm girl who falls in love with a german officer
Oh
Please tell me it's not Where hands touch
Which is like a love story between a black girl and an SS officer or something
Lmfao
Literally wat
I always remember Der Hauptman, which is based on a true story of a German private deserting and then posing as a Luftwaffe officer on personal orders from Hitler
It's mad
Sounds like Pan's Labyrinth too
weirdly a lot of farms with nazis in media
like it never fails to amaze me how people miss the obvious political stuff in star wars
so much of the empire is a 1 for 1 of Nazi Germany and yet most dont see it
and Lucas himself has never denied it ether, in fact he was gona make it even worse, like Palpatine was originally gona be named Ronald Raegan ffs
Human beings can be pretty stupid.

theres people out there that would see the Ghorman Massacre and say they had it coming lol
Also the fact is that generally we like to ignore our problems
Until it bites us in the ass
Education? That would require spending money
...
Why are people yelling that vaccines cause autism now?
Aaannnd Iran just got bombed
Like just now

Reality is ALWAYS stranger than fiction
By the USA too
And the only reason why I know this now is because Trump posted it on his own social media
...
Also said in the same message "Now's the time for peace"
After bombing a country
That's
That's not how that works

I was going to ask why Iran getting bombed is unusual, given the last week
But that makes more sense
Odd question, but is there any mention about when or where did the Ecclesiarchy get all their unique gear from?
Custom ordered from the mechanicus or in house made by people trained by the mechanicus
they may not like each other but the ecclesiarchy still needs the tech priests goods and the admech needs the cult's money
I'm just wondering if the admech found an STC to make the pentient engine or if they did tech heresy with a sentinel.
It’s an stc prolly
A penitent engine is just a rudimentary walker with drug injectors innit
Yeah
They're also like "Oh they have nukes we have to bomb them" First of all, great job antagonizing the country that has nukes, secondly, dont many other countries have nukes, and have for a while now? (Not to mention us) but we arent bombing those?
enforcer is also a rank with the arbitrators?
Luthir Veremonn Goreman is a Lord Marshal of the Adeptus Arbites, ruling from the Precinct-Fortress on Scintilla in the Calixis Sector.[1]
what a name
Nice
Iran doesn’t have nukes(yet)
Dont think about it
its like how most factions in the Imperium got the same rank somewhere
writers dont keep in touch

true and real
Enforcer of the Arbites is different from enforcer of the local security.
It's like shock troops, Cadian is well known, but other regiments also have shock troops. Most Marines are usually classified as shock troops as well.
Yes bro Iran with nukes will bring world peace, trust twitter liberals
As opposed to trusting FOX news orrrrrr?
Trust twitter bro the place responsible for 90% of the worlds terrorist attacks should have nukes
I dont think they should, fair, but I dont think Isreal should be randomly bombing them while at the same time dealing with Gaza the way they're dealing with them
This is one of two reasons why I started thinking the Ragged King ordered a hit on Zola and hired Arbites. I don't entertain the idea any more but I do find it worth noting. The character creator for Arbites also seems like it confirms that the enforcers attempting to collect on the cartel bounty were the rent-a-cop local enforcers not Arbites.
Dude I was quoting Trump's Truth Social announcement

I just think it's funny because he was the one who criticized Obama for doing the literal exact same thing that he's doing now.
Is Trump the only person that uses Truth Social, I wonder
Unfortunately no.
Because thats the only time I ever see that site be talked about
Nothing new with Trump, unfortunately for us
Well not me specifically, but ya know
The US is not going to war, the US is literally the only country that can remove Irans Nukes, they probably just saved Israel from being nuked

They always say that before war starts.
We dont even know the extent of the damage tbh
That they're not gonna go to war
To be fair, I do agree that Iran was a threat. No country needs 60% Uranium Enrichment unless they're trying to make a bomb.
People would be really mad if Trump stepped in to prevent the genocide of Jews but he probably wont
What?
Dude. I have
Zero idea on what you're referring to
You must have missed the antisemitism rallies this week
I feel like its a narrative people are using to justify the bombing run?
lets all remember that the only reason the IDF attacked Iran in the first instance was because of the near defeat Bibi narrowly avoided in Parliament
I'm gonna regret saying this.
Are you referring to the rallies about freeing Palestine/ending the Gaza blockade or the Neo Nazi ones?
The fact that I even have to ask this shows the state of politics right now.

the people of Israel are tired of Net's bullshit and he knows it, so he needs a war to remain in power
thats all this is
After the rumour of conflict theres a bunch of pro iranian rallies. These people are so dumb they are siding with terrorists over agreeing with trump
Sadly every time I see the people of Isreal get mentioned, they're doing something pretty shitty
the result of an extremest faction taking power
Oh okay. I thought you were gonna say something absolutely batshit insane for a sec.
