to be fair asbestos is a very useful and safe material until you try to decommission buildings made with it
I can see why it could have limited use cases even today, seeing as we now know the potential dangers

the same cost cutting negligence that lead to asbestos fibers in the air in homes will happen everywhere it is used

like sure it is safe if used the right way and with the right precautions taken, but we all know that wont be the case as that costs time and money
