Because Ubisoft
Apparently these expert operators from around the globe
With at least a decade of counter terrorism experience
Can't handle the mighty recoil of a 9mm smg
so basically take one of the most annoying things you can deal with in the game and turn it into a super weapon
They wield it like they have fucking Parkinson's.
anyways if you want Player Genocide paths you have 3 options from 3 DLCs
God forbid you get a gun that actually kicks
How the FUCK DO YOU MAKE A MEME WEAPON META TWICE
TWICE
Biogenesis: Behemoths(giant space creatures that eat everything)
Nemesis: Galactic Acension(blow up stars, turn your civlization into gods
Machine Age: Cosmogeneisis(I heard you like science)
Cosmogenesis is pretty much creating a new universe from scratch
using nothing but science
also you build THE LATHE
Say theoretically I get the game which DLCS do I need to become a genocidal maniac with control of the most dangerous monsters in the universe
"mmm yes let's make every gun so awful to use that the meme gun that's only made for people with good aim is meta"
Tbf the BOSG is fun as shit
because they made all the guns awful
lol
the BOSG ended up being good
anyways the synaptic lathe is hilarious
because it does exactly what it says on the tin
it is a lathe for brains

you shove people in
and the lathe uses them to process information
and then you replace them with more people when they die
Ngl sounds like something from the Imperium
Actually does a similar thing exist
I mean there needs to be higher processing power for some things
But that would require AI
Which the Imperium hates
THE LATHE
you don't need AI to make it ironically
you also can use sapient machines in the lathe
its not picky
...you wanna know the funniest part.
The only time I've seen something similar is in Sonic the Hedgehog
Specifically the Archie Comics
Eggman basically made the exact same thing
It also sucks out your energy and turns you into a withered husk
lol
It was inefficient, he even said it himself, but he basically did it for the lols
Look, my synaptic lathe is helping me figure out how to make a new universe from scratch
also if you have a federation with all pacifists and trial by combat is the sucession method. you get this blurb for it
Also it was used for the wackiest retcon ever.
Basically, Archie Comics went wild with it's own lore for a while, but Sega finally paid attention and wanted it the characters to be in line with canon
That also includes ages
Charmy the Bee in the western lore/Archie Comics was a teenager and a prince. He also had a girlfriend.
But Charmy in Japan is actually 6 years old
So what did they do? Funny deaging shenanigans?
Nope
Charmy was stuck in the Egg Grapes
Was subject to it's effects for two seconds
And it damaged his brain so much that he reverted back into a 6 year old
With his girlfriend Saffron, now basically his caretaker due to her boyfriend becoming a child in mentality.
Also before this, his entire kingdom got genocided by eggman
Like straight up exterminated, Charmy and his girlfriend were like the last survivors

Poor poor Saffron
At least he still has Saffron...
Until she got kidnapped along with Julie-Su
Then due to some copyright issues, they did a final crisis style thing and the comic got rebooted because they needed to remove some characters. Including Saffron.
So technically the last moment with pre-reboot Charmy was Knuckles having to tell him that his caretaker/girlfriend is now kidnapped into another fucking dimension.
The Sonic Archie Comics were fucking wild.
Technically also the longest running video game comic
this sounds like what happens when there's no creative oversight so writers just go fucking crazy(in a good way) lol
Honestly that's exactly what happened
Video games weren't taken seriously in the 90's
So video game comics was basically just ignored

The pre-reboot was essentially a result of little creative oversight.
Of course, this caused the quality to also be inconsistent. Both in art and writing.
You can get absolute peak
Or absolute dogshit
reminder, you can make marketable plushies of your giant galaxy ending creatures
💀
What do behemoths even look like
Give me a sec
Y'know honestly
How many do you need of these two humble a tyranid fleet
I actually would buy a plushie of those
probably just one right
It literally eats a planet in one bite
yeah literally just one then
Reminds me of the Sea Dragon Leviathans from Subnautica
they're pretty vulnerable as babies
but they grow fast lol
You can only have a few fully grown ones
but the adolescent and normal adult ones are commonish
Is the behemoth crisis basically just raising them as pets/bio weapons
Yeah
Class IV?
ye
"Oh who's a good little planet destroyer? You are! Yes you are!
Now fetch!"
Behemoth eats a moon
Class 1 can like
match a fleet
thats not too big
class 2 is a match for most fleets aside from dedicated leviathan/large ship killing fleets
Is it weird that I really want to see like
class 3 is more then a match for any single fleet
Tyranids match against a gigantic space beast
class 4 is a living breathing disaster
Class 4 literally fucking mauls everything aside from other late game player crisis or x10+ NPC crisis's
and you can have more than one of those
How many Hive Fleets would it take to fight a Class 4 Behemoth and win
I mean I think it depends on like
The arm of sorts
From the Tyranid mass
Give me a sec lemme find a map
A lot
they are almost always expressed as locus like hordes
of ships floating through space
in any case
Idk then
True
Behemoth fury is probably the most benign Player crisis
because its not mandatory genocide
lol
What is biogenesis anyways
nah
Oh rhis
it just introduces more biological acension options
and stuff
Behemoth fury is the behemoths
lol
So what do you just like
OK but like doing a crisis path is kind of already putting a target on yourself really because like
Pull a USA and threaten anybody that goes slightly out of line with the behemoths
What sane individual will let you have a planet eating monstrosity
pretty much
You can get multiple of by the way
"dude why do you have 5 behemoths"
for research purposes
Cosmogenesis is make a new universe from scratch
nemesis is destroy the galaxy and ascend
Behemoth fury is rule the galaxy
we're likely getting another player crisis with the psionic dlc
I think the weirdest part is that I think that Honkai Star Rail, a Gacha game, has bootleg Tyranids but they're actually more destructive than the actual Tyranids.
biogenesis also has other biology related things right
yeah
Like bio weaponry and shit
Egalitarian being stronger then Authoritarian for Stellaris's entire existance
is funny as fuck
There's not been a single time
where authoritarian as a ethic is better
the one upside is authoritarian is easy as shit to play
with stratified economy
but Egalitarian lets you pop Utopian Abundance early on and just shit out free unity and happiness
I mean that also makes sense

Militarist being stronger then pacifist is also another one
thats always consistent
Stellaris really stating the obvious here
because turns out fighting war is an effective way to protect yourself
rather then waiting
So the optimal play style is essentially
Egalitarian Militarist is very strong
"I AM FORCING YOU TO ENJOY MY UTOPIA."
"YOU WILL BE HAPPY AND GET FREE FOOD AND WATER."
Literally
the egalitarian militarist robots
Thats just Rogue Servitors
aka "mandatory pampering"
lol
all biological populations are bio trophies
that the robots take care of
Reminds me of The Culture.
From Ian Banks
Since that's basically the case for the AI
They literally take care of humans because they want to
also since Rogue Servitors are hivemind only
there's an event where they pretend to let bio trophies rebel
lol
"Alright just let them have a temper tantrum. They'll calm down eventually."
💀
it's somehow both sweet and horrifying at the same time
"oh no, you blew up this super important facility that totally wasn't made out of soft materials"
the whole concept I mean
yeah
Like a parent clapping at a little kid drawing a picture
tbh there is some creepier stuff
I mean there is a flesh planet isn't there
Lemme guess. Forced happy pills
there's a line about how there's an idea to seperate babies from their parents
so that the children identify the robots
Oh no
as their primary caregiver

and therfore never will need patrol drones to make sure they don't try and escape and stuff
Well that's disturbing
Makes sense though
Is it like flavor text or can you control that
💀
also "we have found that small amounts of ingested ethanol will do wonders for stimulating organic reproductive rates."
That actually is a really cool concept ngl
Like instead of the AI being like
"I want to destroy my creators"
It's just the AI being like
I'd also suggest looking into rimworld archotechs if you like interesting AI stuff
"I know whats best for my creators and I will take care of them forever"
"STOP TRYING TO DESTROY EACH OTHER. NO. STOP IT!"
I love rimworld tbh
its fun
So getting drunk
Yes
I mean
thats the joke
I thought alcohol actually lowers fertility
thats why it said small
it's the bad decisions part thats important
there's also some fun empire government types in stellaris
which are easter eggs since they don't effect gameplay
but I think its nice that they added so many
Damn
Oh wait
It's basically just flavor text
Is what you're saying
Well that is actually neat
It's better than just being the Imperium 2.0 "I swear it'll work this time"

Btw that was one of my first attempts
I think I unironically did worse than the Emperor

I don't mean in terms of like
Actual war crimes
I mean in terms of like
"Holy shit I fucked up hard"
I lost
Ofc
My people got genocided

10/10
the megacorp names are pretty funny
Yes
Although how TF does Pirate Haven work
its also the best type of megacorp
you conqueor people or cripple them with crime
lol
Ah
and lack of resources
Yeah but I always wonder like
If you take over most of the universe or whatever
How the fuck do you actually be a pirate
If everything is owned by you

going literally insnae trying to find pictures of somoens bedroom, that is dark, at night
Why

the pirates are your horde of mercenaries
that you point at someone
and say
genesys horror camapign
"go forth, raid them"
and then your mercenaries stick their economy into the meatgrinder
I feel like logically that would fall apart when there's no more enemies to raid
...
oh wait it's a video game
YARHAR
also you can always
make more stuff
never destroy your enemies
just hamstring them
then build their economy back up
with "gifts"
and "loans"
and crime
Honestly I have thought of that actually being a thing for like a Fascist empire
all the criminal megacorps
are oroborus
they eat their own tails
from a fluff perspective
me when slaver guilds
Like some 1984 level shit where they continually attack another empire and then leave them alone for a while
repeat
Thats just called having a vassel
I also do find it hilarious that death cult monarchies
the default title for ruler is
death king/death queen and the sucessor is death prince/death princess
its so simple
Nah that shit is boring
At least call them the Reaper
expected "Dread Pope"

zombie megacorp death cult
coming soon to a game near you
I am glad that they finally added invidualist machine empires as a starting option after all these years
Umbrella
you can always try to be a "benevolent" mega corp
as much as a mega corp can be benevolent
Actual maternity leave
Holy shit

Seriously I am jealous of France for actually having that

don't most countries?
or well, most european countries would probably be more accurate
US is one of the few exceptions to the rule
At least in the west
Most Western nations have maternity/good maternity leave
...servitorization?
Or like, recycling the body or smth?
If only the imperium figured that out
Wait so they're fine with grounding down dead people into fine edible paste but they draw the line on turning them into undead robots?
It’s giving “life” to a body with machinery after its died. You’ve made a living machine in essence
Therefore it’s silica animus
but government mandated cannibalism is fine
yeah the imperium is not great
but what can i do i'm not the tyrannical empire now am i
its even worse when you remember that cannibalism is also outlawed
eating corpse starch isnt cannibalism in the imperium
it is
It’s a local thing
Eating another human is highly distasteful but it’s not outlawed
Killing and eating a person is outlawed
its heresy and the interigator in the watcher in the rain novel says so
the survivers of the regiments the scribe startved where exicuted for the crime of cannibalism
Otherwise corpse starch wouldn't exist
Corpse starch isn’t known to be human flesh
By the average person
It’s also so heavily processed it doesn’t really resemble meat anymore
Still I doubt they would make the food something they consider heresy
Even if the people didn't know
nah for some reason the process of making corpse starch removes the maddening/mutating effect eating human flesh has on people in 40k
Eating human flesh doesn’t cause mutations
Not any more then Prions irl
If it’s tainted then yeah
yeah afaik the mutating part is rare
The corpse grinder cults fell to chaos because the process of making corpse starch was so awful
madness is always gona happen
That they’d rather just eat human meat
Me when prions
yup
so yeah cannibalism is heresy afaik due to the madness and possible mutation it can cause
In any case eating human flesh causing mutations feels like a chicken and the egg situation
With chaos at least
yeah
Do you mutate because you’ve caught chaos’s eye from eating other humans
Or do you mutate because you’ve been corrupted by chaos and have started eating humans
ether way it makes sense for the imperium to seek to outlaw the practice
Random question
If you plant a virus bomb
On a Daemon world
And explode it somehow
Would it actually do anything besides annoy the fuck out of the Daemon inhabitants

depends on how much of the materium is left on the world
ofc a virus bomb almost killed Fulgrim
His experience with that is considered full of grim
Also
Asmongold when he has to move:
that implies he will ever move
More importantly how hasn't he gotten kicked out of his own house

Seriously though if it's bad enough that the ceiling starts collapsing. It's basically a risk to everyone now
afaik his streaming room is the only part still like that
he bought the house from his dad and has had it fixed up
Why
so he is literally never leaving that house lmao
its part of his streaming ID
Man literally uses a rat as an alarm clock
so its for the bit

its sad but its true
Clean up
Actually be healthy
Wash your fucking teeth
Drink water
That should be basic hygiene
he has full impants now
because he actually has money
the sad truth is he has become rich as hell off of living in squaller and reacting to various irl crap
So he didn't even clean it himself
The rest is probably clean cuz he doesn't leave the fucking room
maybe
Disgusting rat clown making gazillions cuz a bunch of basement dwellers enjoy treating a nasty piece of shit like a king
the simple fact is he has no reason to clean it as thats how he got rich in the first place
Stop talking about that nurgle prince.
Considering ||CWC|| exists, Asmon is at most a Plaguebearer :p
Got an opening in my Canada/America game
Are warhammer fantasy slayers naturally really good fighters or is it simply just cause we only see much of gotrek and the other powerful slayers he works with
To be a real slayer they have to kill a troll first if I remember right so there’s gotta be something said for their personal might
Ok i know this is a dumb question
but is the Seer swooning for the emperor
Like bro is calling the empeor by a pet name?
weak slayers tend to die quickly
and weak disgraced dwarfs die in the trial
or don't take it in the first place (becuase it's mostly kinda stupid)
it's like survivorship bias
Those that aren't good usually die, most of the time the good slayers (that we see in books) are at least Troll Slayers
Except Malakai
||Failure of an Engineer, Failure of a Slayer||
Erm, but good slayers are the ones who die 🤓 ☝️
Gotrek is the worst slayer ever
I do think it’s pretty funny how they get increasingly pissed they haven’t died yet despite fighting ever more insane challenges
i mean if you want to die but you keep succeeding and succeeding to the point that you can humble a greater demon i think you would find destiny playing a cruel joke on you
you want to fail but destiny says aye lmao
Slayers are only good when they seek death, not necessarily when they're dead (as can be seen with Karak Kadrin
New Templar is, fine
a black templar with a Crusader Helmet
i respect them for doubling down
A crusader helmeted guy for the guys that spam crusades
i'm surprised it took them this long
Does Guilliman still need his armor to survive cause i read somewhere he can take it off at times
Foolish Guilliman, I laced yo shit
- Morty
he needs to return to it but he can spend longer and longer times without it
I hate it, let them live longer!
I wish that were the case
But IIRC some moths metamorphize without mouth parts, which includes the Atlas Moth

The fleeting beauty of nature
Evolution is a bitch, I wish they were born with stomachs
So they just starve?
Their energy is used to fly and find a mate, then lay eggs
Oh I didn’t see you say this lol
I was going to say Mags, technically all atlas moths do have stomachs and a digestive system, just as larvae
god damn it
I wish they painted it like the ebon keshig instead of like this
It would make much more sense
Scorpion fish?
It's a stonefish
Ah my bad
it's evolved to look like a stone but here's the thing
The Thing
Yeah if you step on a stonefish, you get hit by a pretty bad poison
It’s the one with trh skin tears off right?
And to add another thing on why evolution is hilarious do you know about the Sydney funnel-web ?
My brain auto-completed that as "Sydney Sweeney"
No? Maybe?
I need to be shot
If you don't know it's a spider that has venom that can kill someone in 15 minutes and has fangs sharp enough to puncture through shoe leather
Jesus
🫵 you watch musicals
Oh I heard of it
But I didn’t know it looked like that
Oh yeha it’s a funnel weaver
OK now imagine that but bigger and is packing the same setup of weapons and abilities
Like a tyranid?
I introduced to you the Newcastle big boy it's the one on the right and the one on the left is the Sydney funnel web
Friend shaped
Sweeney is in musicals?
so a spider that has the ability to puncture through shoe leather and has venom that can kill someone in 15 minutes has a version of him that is twice the fuckin size
I LOVE HAVING ANIMALS THAT DO MIMICKRY TO DISGUISE THEMSELVES AS ANOTHER SPECIES
It's a newly discovered species but it's literally just packing the same setup as the Sydney funnel web but it's way bigger
I don't know why evolution decided to give a spider that can punch through shoe leather and has a venom can kill a human in 15 minutes a bigger version but that's just evolution I guess
There's a difference between the two?
Berk look at the size of the one on the right
Oh no Im not talking about the spiders, Im talking about the Sweeneys
SPIDER
NO I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SWEENEYS
OH LMAO
I KNOW THE SPIDER ON THE RIGHT IS BIGGER
LMAO
I confused everyone damnb
GOD DAMN IT'S LIKE TALKING TO TWO GOBLINS WITH YOU TWO
Brb I gotta shower lol before I dgey distracted again
See ya later
We didnt mention the angler fish to Mags damn
I love angler fish
They're so weird
You know about the male angler fish I assume then, Mags?
Yo
Howdy
More valrak leaks
Summary of the alleged leaks above;
Warhammer 40,000 - Drukhari
- has heard a multi-part Archon is coming this edition
- has heard that 11E will be the main refresh for Drukhari
Warhammer 40,000 - Astra Militarum
- has heard another regiment refresh is coming; no rumours of which
Warhammer 40,000 - Dark Mechanicum
- has heard Dark Mechanicum are coming as a new army
Everything else is reiterated from previous videos; Grey Knights and Orks refreshes in 11E (Orks in starter box),
GK and drukhari will have 5e plastic till 11e
Lol
I cant believe we're already on 11e
It’s a year and a few weeks out
Oh okay not yet
Warhammer 40,000 - Dark Mechanicum
has heard Dark Mechanicum are coming as a new army
How likely is that even ?
Very likely stuff
its cool but not mindblowing
Yeah
somewhat semi-safe options
It’s mostly just reiterating known things
i believe it i think
The multi part archon
Will free us from that goofy ass bastard
They’re selling rn
Elite do you remember like, that one motherload leak of 9th edition
Yes
The real one
💀
Yeah which is hilarious
Ngl made it even funnier
when that april fools video of Squats dropped i knew it was real because it has way too much effort and I know low effort GW when I see it.
ala all their middle reveal vids where its just poorly drawn cartoon shit lol
TTS style stuff
yeah exactly
the squats trailer was like SUPER high quality
iirc the guy that did it posted all those panels on artstation
Found it
fucking sick stuff
legit gorgeous
it's genuinely so funny to me that it took them this long
Like this long to make an actual crusader helmet space marine for the crusader faction
They’ve had it since their refresh
Black Templar players deserve their codex last
Not because I hate them
But because I hate fighting over 200+ marine bodies
The chapter serf fucked up my shit
Play 40K, and it’s a 50%+ chance you’ll be fighting some form of marines
Really?
Yes
on what mini
Not really
More than half the factions are marines
Of some flavor
And they’re not that dominant anymore
Like they used to be
Including CSM it’s prolly like 40%
At most events
But it’s not like before
Where it’s just marines
Lol
People still are obsessed with them
Well yeah but there’s less of them now
Or rather there’s more players of other factions
Checking tournament data or just me eyeballing the LGSs I go to for RTTs
It’s not like over 50% marine players
I’m not sure why you find that hard to believe
When I have actual like, evidence that at most larger places you go to you won’t run into 50% marines
mirror matches are some of the most boring wargame matches afaik so it would not be good for GW if the SMs stayed over 50% for long
Tbf that used to be the case
Lol
ofc
If we talk about space marine the faction it’s def only like 30% at most lol
If we include csm maybe they’re up to 50% but the armies play nothing alike lol
Yep
Like if you’re going to complain about tabletop presence
The real overreprsented faction is fucking knights lol
Well I was exaggerating a made up number lol
Like holy shit, I have literally not gone a RTT or just casual game without seeing at least 5 knight players

I’m going to send you into the best coast pairing mines
SM are still a little overrepresented in other media imo
So you can extract data for me forever
Absolutely
Not a little
Felt like anytime I played tts 40K I was always against some flavor of marines
They just are
true
It’s like guard
I’ve actually never encountered a knights player in my years of playing tts
Guard can at least be interesting
because humans and super humans
That they get way too much comparatively
Yeah I agree
Guard needs more variety if it’s at that volume
Like give me more admech
More abhumans
abhumans
easier to write as protags than aliens and emotionless cyborgs
Maybe when hell freezes over
I’ve gotten two baggit and clodde novels and a cameo, I’m happy
I just wish there was more from abhuman perspectives
Riot finally making a single Ionian champion with 0 ties to the Noxus invasion of Ionia.
Dear god
Maybe someday
Yeah but aliens and cyborgs are inherently more interesting cause it allows for unique perspectives and plots
Admech still has like double most xenos factions
In content
yeah but many people dont share that view+ it is hard to get it right
Cause they’re still human
Like 80% of human content I don’t enjoy, too cookie cutter and samey
there is a reason 90% of sci fi and fantasy is from the human perspective only
I’ve only enjoyed a few guard/marines books and it’s the rare ones that feel unique
most people cant be assed to understand a non-human perspective
which makes the added effort of writing one a waste
Bro if I wanted to read about just humans I’d read nonfiction
yeah but people are dumb
Isn’t the point of fiction to write the fantastical?
True
yup but the audience wants vanilla as hell human protags by in large
its one of the great paradoxes of fictional writing
the majority of the readers want plain and simple
See: Cain’s books being so popular
Despite being absurdly formulaic
They’re not bad, but I literally cannot more then one in a row
I like human perspectives, but they should exist to give a neutral point for the other perspectives to contrast with
Not just consume the whole thing
sadly you are the minority with that view
People literally cannot understand a nonhuman perspective lmao
Humans are the only interesting things in the universe fight me
oh they can and have so long as said perspective is well fleshed out and rooted in human understanding
Well yeah people can understand lower animals likes dogs or Eldar
look at most of the non humans in things like star trek
Human aren't even the most interesting thing on Earth
facts
They absolutely are
we
no they are not
if we where we wouldn't spend so much time focusing on the other animals
As Scott Gilbert says in his developmental biology textbook, the human brain is “quite possibly the most organized piece of matter in the solar system”
Well yeah we can appreciate beauty and interesting things
But we are far more interesting than other animals
no we arent
Yes we objectively are.
if we where more people would focus on humans
Indeed
most people hate having to learn about other humans
Stop sounding like eternal and looking for arguments my guy
An I being baited
Most peoples are boring though
I’m not your guy my dude
Does this seem fractious it’s just a bit of philosophical fun
I think humans are the most interesting organisms on earth.
you are in the minority there
I am absolutely in the majority among like normal people I bet
If you lay out all the parameters
very few people will pick learning about the human body over learning about sharks or some other animal
Most people care about the natural world as like a curiosity
Well if you want majority why don't you go to those people then
If we're speaking organism, then I really don't think they're the most interesting, there many animals and even plants that have much more interesting biologies
I am lmao I live in the world
which is more than they care about other humans
I almost mistyped I live in the wokes which is also true
Nah
many with very interesting biologies yes
But not more. Plus we’re composite organisms
Humans have basically known about each other all the time now in the world the interest about our own upbringing and stuff is practically long gone
that and when it comes to humans our own moralities keep us from caring about each other as much
only species that has me interested beyond mankind are Jellyfish
I mean socially and mostly evolutionarily yeah, but we're still missing BIG gaps in our own biology today. Many things that happen to us we're like "fuck idk lmao"
People are by far the most interesting things on earth.
and maybe squid
so the human body is still full of mysteries
Ok they are pretty cool. Very simple tho
Yes but like I would still choose to learn about other Organism than a human because I hear about us already anyway even if I don't want to
They have very organized genomes and development but somehow it makes them really static too
Like you hear about humans every day no matter if you like it or don't like it so why would you be more interested on humans unless it's related to a certain field you are tackling
Yah I mean we are interested in The Other
ofc but which would the average person prefer to learn about, the human body or something like te man-o-war
https://tenor.com/view/octopus-cute-umbrella-octopus-gif-27043434 im more of the cephalopod variety
The average person? Well like college courses on human phys and anatomy and biochem far far outpace those on organismal diversity EVEN when you take out the premeds
So
if you want to judge the objective level of interest in a subject you have to look at what the majority sees as interesting
Human are the best at 1 thing I'll give them, ||destroying ecosystems||
let me add extra
exploitation manipulation human trafficking war crimes the creation of the boys comics
Yes based and true
ok but the average person isn't going to be a biologist anyway, man-o-wars are easy to understand, while more complex creatures like humans and other very deep sea creatures take a bit more.
See above lol
Wow you really are like eternal
PBUH
yeah, forcing the ecosystem to conform and adapt to our needs is both the main source of our dominance and our greatest threat
I hope yall realise hes just baiting
ofc i do, im just bored
It is interesting that ancient cave paintings have so few human figures
I mean yeah but I like arguing
Lmao alright good
ehh bored, may as well favour someone's delusions
And I’ve watched some of those long form docs on hunter gatherer societies
Stuff filmed by the Marshals etc
I think most people knew it before, just trying to cause him to go deeper in the bait
And like the Bushmen just spend all day talking about animals haha
I call it depression, rhymes with grug
Just making sure 🫡
Like “bro did you see those baboons? I’m gonna eat one tomorrow.”
I call it the "Kimber 1911" rhymes with "Grug"
also Id agree (||not really but||) until I learned one day that Mantis Shrimps exist tbh
Why so many hands with partial fingers too 🤔
yeah that's the stuff
People love animals.
Though my colleague who works with the Hadza hgs thinks a lot of simple stick-like drawings may be of stylized people
i'll raise you the pistol shrimp
Ok cool but still not as interesting as humans
Fun fact my best friend from my PhD did her postdoc on those with Sheila Patek
the beast
Don't they see more colours than we do ?
sea life in general is cool
She studied the linkage system in the arms.
i still hate the movie that revolved around these creatures
Like a ton yeah, they are very itneresting animals.
I don't know Bigfin squid
Very interesting. ||Not.||
aw shit its the harvester
sea life in general is more interesting than most terrestrial life since they've evolved to live in such extreme conditions
isopods are great
Nah terrestrial environment is way more extreme
Isoplush
It’s a desiccated desert
i want
Compared to the ocean where nutrients are just floating around
I gotta give credit to Spongebob for peaking my interest in marine life
I do love the other species that evolve instead of punching they decided to just stab
that and finding nemo
I mean no not really the ocean has desserts, lush jungle like reefs, and straight up great plains like environments with the open ocean
Hydrothermal vents
There are no desserts in the ocean
Literally living in a volcano
Everything tastes like fish
Evolutionary Biology is the coolest study sorry I don't make the rules
Yeah yeah the black smokers whatever still nutrient rich
the under water "eagle"
No it’s pretty mid

the most interesting thing about earth is the earth itself
uhm akshually its us

monke
Humans are also definitely very interesting animals
whoever designed us sucks at it
Don’t like the way this mf lookin @ me
"The Earth" you say?? i see what you mean
So true queen
we are, we are also the only one with morals so that tends to take precedent, no joke the main reason people dont like learning about humans much is all the controversy that comes with it
I legit suffer from a disease that doctors and biologists are still like "fuck idk lmao good luck"
Evolutionary biology is like C tier at best
Ugh
I’m sorry.
I wish… I imagined honestly

most of human history is offensive in some way and forces people to ask hard painful questions
Like a couple decades ago
Deploy the missiles at Country B

That biomed progress would be so much faster than it is.
Me when human sacrifice
Lol
mr president thanos is back
Yes that’s why it’s so great
I do wonder what causes that, almost every culture at some point has had some form of human sacrifice
I saw that emoji
sdfslfds

Because people are stupid
paganism
There are some ok papers about it.
Okay yeah that makes sense
That’s not a reason
Do you have any
Thanks
guys don't mention Abrahamic faiths did it as well
I was gonna say lmao
all that matter is the agenda
almost all forms of religion had some primitive sacrifice elements
Almost every culture has myth about scary giants clubbing people bc its fucked up
Ye early tho
Also the proto Abrahamic faiths did it as well lol
never mind all the people killed during the black death to" appease God"
they just get ruled out because we gotta act civilized
and uhhh
christ is king 🤓
or some shit
Is this like all the religions and mythologies with giant floods
Lol
it's almost like le humans le stupid
Monke brain
Abrahamic, Ancient Egyptian, Greek — possibly stemming from one source — kind of did away with it.
Anyways we need to bury these people alive
Or else the giant catfish is gona be mad
Brainwashing- I mean converting people is easy when you got more "kind" beliefs, theres a reason the church retcons a lot more violent/wild shit from the bible

(Insert slavery bit)
which is a shame because those parts are metal af
KEK
Also the part about stoning your daughter to death
humans have the most powerful mind known to date, and we spend most of it's power on figuring out better ways to hurt each other
Yes
Always 🙏
those who omit it saddens me
Humans get very creative when it comes to that
me when mustard gas
we didnt calculate that the wind would blow it back to us
"Guys what if we attached dynamites to some dogs."
🧠
Oh come on one major reason both Judaism and Christianity in various forms were gentle was because both were religions of common people and/or the downtrodden and not conquerors. The Tribes just got kicked around and obviously Christianity was among the common men.
Hence all the meekness stuff.
waiter pull out this mongrel dog of the empire nerves out
So that is part of it.
Well yeah its the truth though, you can get a lot of people through radical ideals but its way easier when your creeds are more gentle in nature.
these days though im not sure if thats even true anymore

anyway
100000 gazillion dollars to-
Yes it is true.
Ukraine
Also true.

Another thing I would encourage everyone to do is to read the long-form anthropological studies of the Khoisan and Hadza that are available. These are subsaharan hunter-gatherer societies that until the 50s ish were basically frozen in time.
Notably they do not practice human sacrifice. Sacrifice probably not present in the ancestral human society. Possibly related to greater social Strat as that nature paper argues.
Reading about these peoples should be a fundamental component of all education imho
@arctic talon et al.
interesting
Glancing at this stuff so far it seems to be saying that social stratification causes human sacrifice or vice versa
There are some great popular books too by the daughter of the original !Kung ethnographers
Elizabeth Marshal Thomas
The Harmless People and The Old Way
Marshall sorry
And there’s a dvd collection of the Marshalls’ footage
My friend Nick goes and spends weeks with the Hadza traveling around and they’re a really interesting people too.
