wdym i loved that movie
Doesn't 28 weeks later have Hawkeye in it?
yeah
jeremy Renner, yeah. he's a sniper
as one of the only americans
Isn't the entire army American
it's like american movies bringing in one of the handful of known british actors
It's only the civilians that are British
in weeks yeah
i's say days is the actual british movie
Never seen Days, only Weeks
oh you should watch the first one
it's very good but completely different
days has been impossible to find for like a decade
Only Fast and Furious I've seen is Tokyo Drift
Jim's rage will forever be ingrained in my memory first time watching it
but the group hiding in the van to escape from the toxic gas is amazing
i loved it
and the intro ofc
and the ending
and when the outbreak starts
why do you guys dont like it again
When the Americans get the orders to just start shooting everyone
it just didn't have as much thriller impact days had.
and he only shoots clearly uninfected people yeah that's funny
days is just a different movie
Pretty realistic too honestly.
The entire plot is stupid
they dont have much in common
"lets leave this carrier woman alone by herself i na caravan"
ah come on dilara suspension of disbelief
also one of the only times i actually hated children protagonists in movies
WHAT SUSPENSION
yours
no
suspend your disbelief
Same
im 99% sure the director of 28 Years even said hes ignoring the second movie?
which would be hilarious ngl
the kid actors werent bad for most of it
In defence of the movie she was in a secure room that they thought no one could get into, they had no idea the janitor had stolen access to every room in the facility
Like they didn't just leave her in a hallway
to its credit 28 weeks later was the first time i was exposed to the concept of asymptomatic carriers of a deadly virus in zombie films
Okay but again
and the movie shows that beforehand too
she was strapped to a bed
They're short staffed
So?
not even A SINGLE guard?
these arent established in the movie
He was on break
yeah that bothered me
you guys are helping the script!!
there were guards you see them getting murdered
stop this!!!
YEAH IN OTHER ROOMS
🤝
so apart from that
So I kind of thought this way after I left KS for college, and more or less acted like it. But now a couple decades later I really think I should have done better keeping up with my high school and college buddies.
do you not like the rest
i think the beginning is a little slow and the action comes out of nowhere
like the outbreak is so fast
It’s just those are the people who see you at your most ret@rded and still like you.
i dont give a shit about the banter scenes between the american snipers
Its not that i didn't like it, but there wasn't really a lot going for me. intro was great, but once it solely focused on the kids it was just "ehh"
Those are generally your family and real friends
and possibly girlfriend but that depends on time
and/or boyfriend
I ain't homosaxophone
what about the scenes where the group is trying to escape, post outbreak
s'okay
Judging by the convo
even the napalm strike moment?
Y'all talking about 28 weeks later?
I generally think that besides the intro which is basically perfect.
It's fine.
Obviously not the best, there are some plot holes, and coming from 28 days later makes it feel worse than it actually is.

Six months after the original epidemic, the rage virus has all but annihilated the population of the British Isles. Nevertheless, the U.S. Army declares the danger past, and American soldiers arrive to restore order and begin reconstruction. Refugees return to British soil, bu...
i liked seeing london being destroyed
look its been years, i only watched it once and never went back. i only remember the intro, 2nd outbreak, and the ending
https://youtu.be/iDrYp0LApwU?si=Y4AVYnAY30lY0x17 oh also this, which was funny

Don't ...
I think generally shit like the Napalm bombing and snipers are cool as shit.
Honestly
This was the most awesome scene
and idc if it's unrealistic
that was legit something i'd see in a Zombieland film
Seeing a helicopter unintentionally lawnmower a bunch of the rageheads went absolutely hard
When Hawkeye is pushing the car to start it and he just gets lit on fire with a flamethrower, goes hard
Generally, I think the worst part is how the outbreak starts.
Although moving back to London is also dumb. I can see it as plausible unfortunately.
see the thing is you take zombie movies seriously
you have to turn off your brain a bit
Like how the outbreak starts is absolutely stupid
There were no guards?
The door was unlocked?
that's me with Zombieland. and, much to my shame, Warm Bodies because i was staying at a cousin's house
No homo bro no homo
FOR A WOMAN WHO IS LITERALLY IMMUNE TO THE VIRUS. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS THAT THERE IS?
Let’s do the no homo glans touch 2 seal the deal
I generally think if 28 weeks later had Don somehow sneak past the guards it would've been alright.
I will say this, when it comes to any military or enforcement response to a zombie outbreak. In 28 weeks later, it is no way as bad as the Resident evil movie where it shows Racoon city Police and S.T.A.R.S.
he had access to the whole building
The fact that there were absolutely none was a bit stupid in my opinion
this is shown at the start of he movie
A janitor
yes
The guy unlocked it because he gave himself full access and knows how to get around without being seen
head of sanitation
The movie tells us this at the start
i dont even bother with the live action RE movies
they're their own genre of trash
Like I just can't turn my brain off on that front.
It's stupid, but it's like a believable stupid
I like the first one.
https://tenor.com/view/28weeks-later-running-gif-14570791 still. Cool opening. mediocre majority of the film
I still think it should've showed him sneak past some guards.
this movie shaped 2000's zombies a lot
remember hearing the theme music everywhere
I loved the sniper scene personally.
In general, I think a part of zombie movies that I like are the inital outbreaks.
And I really wish we got a prequel of 28 days later that showed just absolute chaos
28 Weeks Later Theme Song! 28 weeks later official theme. Comment, Rate.. Love!
First time I have looked at this Video since being at school 6 years ago!!! Cant believe it has 303,000 Views!! Thank You everyone
Like the Janitor asks one of the guards for an all access pass, the guard thinks "Sure why not, it means I don't have to open the doors for this guy anymore making my job easier", then forgets to mention to anyone else that the janitor now has an all access pass is a totally believable real life scenario
i remember as a kid every youtube lego zombie animation using it
That is probably the most iconic zombie song.
and to this day
it is still a fucking banger
this movie to me is peak zombies shlock i love it
Most security fuckups happen because of things like this
I think
28 days later was just really good in general
28 weeks later was worse, and had some plotholes.
On the standards of the first movie, its bad. On the standards of zombie media as a whole, it's good.
If that makes any sense.
i dont even bother thinking of them as sequels. they're very different movies
Someone props a door open because the lock gets stuck if you don't push the key a certain way and it's annoying to open (It's supposed to be locked at all times)
just judge them on their own
And I hope 28 years later (smh skipping months) is good.
I think there's only like, one instance of a zombie series where it shows a military unit properly handling the infected. i have to see what it was specifically
Shaun of the Dead
The ending literally has the military come in
it just doesn't work if the military actually does things
and pacify the outbreak
no it was more recent. i don't think they spoke english
I think the only ones that are semi-plausible are video game outbreaks like Left 4 Dead and also
Dying Light
side note that movie is one of my favorite guilty pleasures
And even then, they actually did contain it at first for Dying Light
it's so bad but it's so fun
oop, wait i found it. it was a korean series
Generic saying of that the book is better.
Generally the movie is a case of the director kinda being fucked over
Fucking love that movie
https://youtu.be/z4LaVLItrKc?si=fIeH9U9sZgSlsIJL All of us are dead
Title: ALL OF US ARE DEAD
Release Date: 2021
Audio/Sub: [KOR/ENG]
Episode: 1x09
I admit. That is fucking cool as shit.
10/10
We don't know. It's intentionally in a limited perspective.
nah they set up containment zones and the main characters make it safely
Of course in a train
by the time of its sequel, Peninsula, yes. the entirety of korea was evacuated.
i think i heard of this one but never saw it
Yeah I think that would be considered not being fucked though.
Being fucked would be it spreading outside
Oh at the end, but I'm thinking of the first checkpoint safezone they're sent to which is completely overrun by the time they arrive
can we all agree that walking dead has the most pathetic military of any series
yes
its a 7/10, there's a few subplots that kinda act as comedy relief. Although it damn near tore my heart when it involved the protagonist's mom
I honestly liked some of the scenes of WWZ.
The inital outbreak with the cars is absolutely terrifying.
Like genuinely having a zombie just quickly bite somebody and move on
FTWD i was like "WHERE ARE YOUR GRENADES?"
and within seconds they just turn
when they suddenly decided to breach a house while taking the main guy around in their humvee? yeah that one is hilarious
Like if there's one thing the movie does better. It's that their zombies 100% feel terrifying.

Always loved this scene it's awesome to see the military to go up against zombies well they don't call them that.
Tho is it just me or did they portray the military just dumb 🤔

#thewalkingde...
this was just absurd
Walking Dead has like the weakest zombies ever to the point you wonder how the world even ended.
like these fuckers are trained military and can't figure out how to kill zombies
The book is more about how society dealt with the outbreak. With the zombies being the slow kind.
something every character in the show figures out IMMEDIATELY
But I think if there was a remake with the movie zombies, it'd also be terrifying
Like 8 regular people can show up with sharpened broom handles and kill 5000 walkers, so how the hell did the world end?
i do like the logic of the soldiers stranded at the base in SK. The captain saying If they can't aim for their heads go for the legs so they stop moving.
when the mexican guy casually brings a fucking armada of zombies to the military outpost
In the WWZ book, they figure it out almost instantly.
But the problem is that they somehow still survive even with huge chunks of their brain missing. You have to completely destroy the head.
And due to panic from communications. People started to panic and think that they're invincible.
and the military starts freaking out like a headless chicken
The world ended because the military used bb guns and paint ball grenades...
nobody coordinating any defenses
6 guys trying to stop the flimsy fence from breaking
TBF on some level that can happen. Again WWZ (the book) had the most realistic scenario of the military panicking.
But even then, they got their act together after one battle, and there's still quite some inaccuracies.
did you see fear the walking dead laati
Zombie in WWZ book has plot armour.
this. this right here is the equivalent of buying DLC packs and grinding. CRM and the Commonwealth
i can't even explain how stupid it is
Yeah.
Liked some of it, but the military is
later seasons are so wacky
braindented liek you said
Also, the book has some military used .22 caliber incendiary ammo to shoot and burn the zombies.
What was the Arbites' plan?
walking dead has 1 theme and it keeps kicking you over the head with it no matter how wacky the situation
Agreed. It's not perfect, but it deals with it well enough that the interest manages to keep the suspension for me. I can understand if it's too much for some people.
I can tell you right now that the .22 incendiary will not light up clothes 99% of the time, let alone the blood that would extinguish it.
i had to take almost half a year off from watching TWD because i was still in shock over Glenn's death
Basically, if you can handle how 40k artists and writers don't know shit about military. You certainly can handle WWZ.

dont worry he reincarnated as mark grayson
one thing at the end of WWZ were the russians. they decided to fight...in melee? this a White Walker and battle of winterfell scenario?
Like in Season 1 of Walking dead they sort of implied that the walkers happened sort of simultaneously with a virus pandemic that ravaged the population first, causing tons of people to die of the sickness and then reanimate, catching everyone offguard and disrupting the chain of command leading to an ineffectual resistance. Then Fear the Walking Dead happened and it's just this.
movie or book
no wait the movie ended in jerusalem
walking dead virus is in everybody and only makes you zombie when you die, regardless of how you died
thought it was switzerland
fuck i need to reread it
the telltate games explain this better
no wait, cardiff
but generally I don't think they mainly used melee? But they did have some type of weird suicide ritual.
when you cut off somebody's leg and they come back as a zombie
I think how it works is that everybody's infected, but it's dormant.
A zombie bite activates it early
it's interesting yeah
But it also activates when you die regularly
it is a cool concept
Probably the most interesting virus alone from that premise tbh
I generally think my favorite "zombie" virus is again, 28 Days/Weeks later
It is fucking terrifying for me
All you feel is just rage.
the bite is a nearly guaranteed death for poorly explained reasons ranging from a deadlier fluid contact version of the virus to infections stemming from the walker's decaying mouth
And it can happen literally by a drop of blood into your eye
agreed. you can almost tell they still have some degree of awareness for certain infected
It doesn't make sense that the 28 days later zombie can take over to 28 years though...
although getting completely covered in walker blood does not infect you
bur eating walker meat does
Kind of? You can actually cut your limb off quickly and you can survive.
Just gotta do it quickly and also not bleed off.
walking dead does not have the most consistent lore
Yea but like I said Season 1 implies that the first wave of the virus was like a pandemic that killed lots of people (who then turned), the people we see who survived didn't die to the virus initially but were still infected with a passive strain and turned if they died.
If you're bitten on somewhere you can't cut off you're fucked though
What doesn't make sense is how 28 years later, the Swedish military is still active to a certain degree
that's only main characters. multiple characters in the series try this and still die
it's pretty much guaranteed death for a normie
Makes sense tbh. Amputations without proper medical equipment are uh...
In 28 weeks later, the opening infected are still pretty much savage a very weak sign of reasoning.
not
guaranteed survival
to say the least
Also the fact that you have to cauterize it
Fun.
28 weeks later starts with all infected starved to death
the mom survived because she was still able to eat food
Kind of.
Some of the edges of Britain still have some alive.
the ending of days shows all the infected dying
Even when they move into London
I am looking forward to potential mutated strains 28 years later will show off
this is not shown in the movie afaik
They also didn't completely remove any dead animals also.
...
and also the dead bodies
that's probably what they'll do to explain the years
Which you'd think would be priorty #1 before moving people back in
some kind of walking dead virus where the corpse can apparently keep having energy after 20 years
Honestly it would be logical if the virus became tamer/still kept survival instincts.
Since how pandemics die out back then was them ironically
none of this is logical
killing too many
Like part of the reason the black death subsided for a while was because it killed too many people and therefore had less vectors for infection.
So I can imagine the virus adapting so that the hosts actually do things like
eat food and drink water
But are still basically rabid animals
this is way too complex for a virus, there's no logic in there
True
it's all supernatural
Flavored bullshit as I like to call it

the other thing they could do is the weeks situation
Honestly I kinda wanted a prequel to days.
virus is dead, whole planet dead apart from a handful of survivors
main character finds semi infected person, gets infected
etc etc
28 burritos later
LMAO
they're gonna think an earthquake happened
eh
I like exploring what lead to it
idk why but I just love seeing society collapse
I guess because how we'd respond to it and fail interests me a lot
It's... also why I admittedly love researching shit like the Fall of Berlin
Laati:
weirdly enough the first mad max movie has that
i also like settings that are sorta apocalyptic but not fully yet
clearly getting there
I always found the first mad max to be the actual story of well... Max.
With the sequel movies basically being whispered offshoots from the apocalypse.
all i cared about that film was Max's car,
It's basically how
Some mythologies actually do have a solid structure
But generally how they get to that point or the aftermath is different
hearing that engine purr, hoo she was a beauty https://youtu.be/EK2ijfxqlnY?si=1NTFWI4KKLRZ-hgH
Original Australian Accents Version
And I like to think that the Mad Max franchise is like that.
The first movie being the beginning which everyone knows.
But then the other movies being variations of his adventures
i saw a quote where somebody says that old cars don't go faster when you press the gas, they only make more noise
i like the fury road goes back to the car nut roots of the series
I think it's just that they reach top speed quicker.
they dont
dnag
honestly for guilty pleasure and if i had the money, i'd want to make a replica of the V8 Interceptor
hard luck finding a falcon
I think my favorite part of the movie was Immortan Joe.
Specifically his weird cult of personality.
everybody has the same idea as you sadly
How every weakness he had was turned into a show of strength
very hard to get your hands on a 1973 model
His mask for oxygen turned into part of his signature look
it's like finding a delorean that hasn't been back to the future'd
https://tenor.com/view/guitar-mad-max-fury-road-electric-guitar-rocking-out-jamming-gif-3389097859580245812 the only guy that kept me going
I think the funniest part is that for the first half of the movie Max was like
"WHAT THE FUCK??"
Like the man was more confused than actually pissed
He was just in a state of "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?"
this guy is just the Zealot male Fanatic
it's like the beginning of day of the dead
Although it's probably not the case. I like to imagine that Fury Road takes place somewhat soon after the first movie purely because of how funny the idea is.
Like imagine going from the first movie to fucking this
wait no dawn of the dead
dawn of the dead is another movie that shows society completely collapsing
that's what i thought. the films loosely present it as a chronological order. And Beyond thunderdome was the last movie story wise
thunderdome sucks so much
I just thought Tina Turner was cool in that film
Again, I think it's like how mythologies have differences between them, but they generally follow the same structure.
Like Medusa has a different backstory depending on which version
But she's still a snake lady that turns people to stone
Maybe Mad Max went to the thunderdome before or after Fury Road. But either way, he was there
All Greek mythology ever taught me, was that "Kratos you are one hundred percent justified to kill these asshats"
road warrior had the best gay power couple
?
also the literal mole child killing people with boomerangs
❤️
Funnily enough, Kratos's version were actually not that bad. At least, compared to the actual myth versions.
...
Until he opened pandora's box
true
He somehow fucked them up even more
I like how the later games generally recontextualizes the earlier ones
And made them a whole lot more interesting by proxy
As part of a series. It shows how much he changed
i still think fury road is the best movie in the series
And how fucked up he truly was as a human being
absolute gem of a movie that has amazing action
this was still the hardest QTE i've had to do as a younger gamer
the GoW Greek series by itself is like 70% "angry man beats the shit out of gods" though
30% actually interesting story content with Kratos. They basically unintentionally planted the seeds to make him one of the most interesting characters in gaming rn
But god damn was his Greek self an absolute asshole
it's actually kinda funny
Like there was one scene where was swallowed by a sea monster, and a dude asked for help while also in the same predicament
And he just kicked him off
and had him become the monster's lunch
oh the captain yes, i remember that gag
And then when Kratos DIED and went into Tartarus
He was there AGAIN
hanging off the ledgre
and he just kicks him off into hell
then i think you can find a collectible with a transcript that implied it was the boat captain
Like he didn't need to do either of that, but he fucking did and it's fucking funny.
i learned recently that kratos is spartan
How
i never played the games
Fair
Boat captain was just the GoW equivalent of the cabbage guy from ATLA
Also he literally was like shimmeying across a ledge while against Ares for the first time
somebody else was trying to escape the fire
and he just
pushes him away
He could've easily jumped around with how strong he is
but nope
https://youtu.be/JCBof7PMSXE?si=jB_L3wsVMiBDoNjk the mini boss fight, lmao
What the title said, pretty much.
Kratos honestly has the most interesting redemption arcs
like
ever
Zuko tier tbh
also
is that bumblebee

wait only now G.I is participating in an Anime Expo?
Might be due to the anime they announced
like
Maybe
I thought for sure it would've gone the way of the switch port
AKA shot down by God
thought it was gonna be a Starcraft Ghost scenario
bee man the transchanger
In b4 they predictably make Aether the main character
growls in Lumine being not appreciated
rip
Honestly would be funny if they made it lumine
Like it makes sense
The Game has Aether for the promo material
The anime has Lumine
Lumine should have some spotlight, ye
Dad Kratos is peak
Congratulations, welcome to hell
we have cupcakes

Jokes aside. I never actually played ZZZ. I have tried out Hi3rd, and play HSR.
Come on man, we are already in plastic crack hell to begin with,
One more layer doesn’t hurt 🤣
...and also am a lore follower of both Genshin and HSR which makes me unsavable as a result.
my sister tried getting me into G.I but i just didn't like fantasy games. So when ZZZ was announced i gave it a shot.
i confess my sin that i have indulged in the store currency at least 5 times
Tbh you somehow picked the most sinful out of all of the 4 main gacha games Hoyo has
I'm gonna be honest here. Genshin and HSR have surprisingly little fan service
They have few skins, and they can just be plainly bought on the shop. No need for gacha
Well for Genshin, for HSR there's only ONE
Some of the skins were free as well
Not saying they're generous, just an interesting note considering Gacha games love skins
I do my best to avoid that spectrum, i solely play it for the storyline. i really don't care for gacha skins
Hi3rd has a lot, but it was their first successful game.
HSR and Genshin lore is more interesting than the main story which is
sad
Although tbf, that's mainly because they probably can't depict it since uh
HSR lore is 40k tier in how dark it can get at times.
Genshin Now: "I have a brother/sister?"
I wish I was joking
The Borisin are an example, an enemy in HSR that are basically werewolves AKA furries.
Their lore is quite fucked up lmao
Basically their ships are alive, in fact most of their technology is alive.
They are looking to railroad that back on track next update, so let’s hope that sticks
another thing i like compared to previous Hoyo games.
These loveable little fellas
Made entirely out of the corpses of their enemies, some unlucky borisin around, and also some animals. Made into a living creature of it's own, powered by more corpses.
bout time
Oh hey isn’t there that group in HSR trying to reverse evolution?
HAHA
With multiple brains acting as a command center.
Also if you don't keep the ship fed, it literally starts digesting whoever's inside.
Generally, how the Borisin makes their technology is purely through mruder
Different group.
Dr Primitive is the one who's trying to reset evolution, and the group basically follows him.
And interprets his will.
The Borisin are of the Abundance AKA "Healing and nature" group.
...
about as much healing and nature as Nurgle is.
Oh also I believe Firefly was created to fight Not!Tyranids
Also the Foxians were and are essentially slaves to the Borisin. Apparently they're a different species but share the same common ancestor, Humans.
So it's similar to how we had other human species lying about.
And Firefly and her kind are Warframe equivalents
Yeah. Also the Not!Tyranids are wild.
One of their emanators was a planet sized bug
that shoots a death star laser
Oh fun
We actually fight an infant clone version of it in game
The blue giant bug echo of war
where it only lasts for like 40 seconds
before the weight of it's existence is too much and causes it to just spountaneously die
Ok since two people are going to get this little cultural joke
Do you know that in JP, Firefly and Lumine are both called Hotaru (albeit with different written forms)
(And I will be honest both are cute as buttons)
The God of the Not!Tyranids, and of Propagation (yes it means what you think it means), Tayzzyronth was basically the last of his race. With the rest basically being genocided by poachers.
Due to literally being so lonely. He wanted any sort of person to relate with. Even including himself.
So yes, every bug that we fight is technically a clone of Tayzzy himself
or... THEMSELF
… FUN
They also got a Genestealer equivalent
Basically they can shapeshift into humans
And pretend to be them
until the right time...
Their spores also cause hallucinations. With a dried version used for drugs.
They use them to masquerade as your greatest desire. To tempt you.
Right before consuming you
and then using your corpse to make more.
Again HSR lore is overly dark compared to the actual game.
and I find it funny how the universe could actually be considered Grimdark. Less than 40k, but darker than Halo.
While the game is just like
"I LOVE TRAVELING!!!"
"WOW LOOK I GOT A 5 STAR!!!"
In general, I think Hoyoverse should try their hand in a non-gacha game. This shit is wild.
It all depends on on where you focus XD
They make too much money from gacha
On the topic of crossovers and references…
There’s no reason for them not to
Legend of Zelda: This Shit is Wild
HSR's lore has a bunch of interesting bits.
Same with Genshin
"I LOVE DISEMBOWLING CHILDREN!"
My only complaint with Genshin lore is…well, it takes a slot of stitching together even compared to 40k lore.
But I agree it is as in depth
Although Genshin is less dark than HSR even in lore. Probably because it is limited to Teyvat.
Same. Hoyoverse has interesting lore.
The problem is how they tell it.
In which case, they suck at it.
Genshin players are infamous for not reading for a reason.
Some think it might be due to them wanting to say like
"Look Players played X Hours!"
This is everything
Ever
Lol
the extent of my lore on genshin
But honestly, I actually don't think that's the case.
This is peak
I think it's partially due to two things
- Direct translation from Chinese to English.
They refuse to at least use shorthand for English. Most of the dialogue is proper.
Which makes me believe that it's more of a direct translation. With only the bare minimum to be readable.
Which sometimes makes it sound like I'm reading a textbook rather than a story.
You can see cases of this such as the infamous EN Hu Tao Rap
The Chinese in genshin is archaic as well
Tbf
It’s very
Wordy
From the like, 1 hour I’ve played of it before I dropped it
Them not wanting to spend money on better translations aside, it’s meant to sound not modern
The lyrics are clearly a direct formal and wordy translation. They didn't even like... make it sound like an actual rap.
So the VA for Hu Tao literally had to try making what sounds like sentences from a textbook into a rap.
Also the other reason with Genshin is a lot of lore is…how to put it?
It gets sidetracked by a lot of local events. Where the connection to events 500 years ago are not immediately apparent unless the plot explicitly makes it so,
Sumeru/Fontaine/Natlan have gotten better, but you would struggle to understand why Dvalin is an immediate issue and why Vent is a wind god to start
She tried, but the direction didn't help.
This also is a problem yes
HSR does actually remedy this somewhat by allowing flagship events to be played even when they finish running
It's just that you get less rewards in comparison to if you did it "on time"
GI should've had the same system, but they didn't
And now GI probably can't do it anymore due to the sheer amount of backlog they have
Which sucks ass because like, some of those events are actually important to the wider story
They tried to include summaries for relevant past events now, which lorewise helps a bit
But still, the not reading problem persists
For fucks sake, the recent MAIN STORY QUEST, relies on 3 limited events. One of which they didn't even explain.
Simulanka isn't explained in it.
If I was a new player, I would have zero context on mini Durin.
No, it actually is. But the tooltip for it is very, very hidden.
I actually found it somehow,
That's even worse
Yea, agreed
Like I said, they need to at least make the Albedo events playable.
Like it should be a summary that jumps on screen like Natlan did
Simulanka is complicated due to being a summer event, but there should be a recap
Hell HSR does optional recaps of the main story now
WHY DOESN'T GENSHIN
WHAT THE FUC-
And not a summary hidden behind a piss tiny question mark.
It sounds like entirety of Nrod Krai is trying to solve that, and oh
Actually, another Genshin writing issue
The lore is too localised to the fictional culture
They have no reason to invest more ironically
At least be honest about it. I think that's the worst part.
Because they keep saying that "we're gonna do it" but then they don't
Like you have to bloody figure out if Sumerians and Monstadt sources are saying the same things with different names
Well why be honest, it’s always better to have a white lie for goodwill
That’s my opinion on it
Okay now this is based
Lol
Actually that is a complaint I do agree with on some level but not others.
I would say overdone is my more precise complain
If they’ve made fictional cultures so distinct
Might as well use the terms they’ve made
They usually do have a translation for what it usually means.
But also side quests like the Aranara one is basically nearly incomprehensible with the amount of terms they use.
That they made up
In the quest itself
Like I get what they're trying to do. These are different nations.
And although they magically speak whatever the default language is. They're still different nations with their own history, culture, and traditions
Hoyoverse loves making their own language for small details
both something I hate and love
Co-lang’s are cool
For HSR, they made a galactic alphabet, with each planet having different ways and variations of writing it
Especially if they have consistent rules
They also use it for their promotional material
Let me actually show it
This is the Herta Space Station and Jarilo-VI version of the Universal script
Here is the Luofu's
Here is Penacony's
and finally here is Amphoreus
HSS and Jarilo's seems to be the "default"
The Luofu's way of writing is based off of ancient Chinese.
Penacony's only has slight variation due to it being a tourist planet.
And Amphoreus's is based off of Greek lettering.
And all of the writing around the areas, the shops, the fucking advertisements, even the examples of some of the HELP SCREENS, are in this language
The Luofu also has a second language that's basically Chinese.
Because Chinese company
Can a different alphabet can really be a called a whole different language?
If it is just the alphabet that's different?
Like aurabesh from star wars
Yeah I guess dialect would be accurate
It's still a neat detail
Although the Luofu uses actual Chinese as well. Considering how independent from the IPC it is. This makes sense.
Kafka's wanted poster, bottommost text:
"KFK" Kǎfúkǎ (Chinese: 卡芙卡)
Topmost text:
"TJL" tōngjī lìng (Chinese: 通缉令 "wanted notice")
Although they based off of ancient chinese weirdly enough
Specifically small and large seal script
Latin is also scattered about, and bits of english. Which implies that it might still exist
just mostly forgotten.
Which must be intentional since every other sign is in the universal script
It is sometimes terrifying how good Hoyoverse is at the tiniest of fucking details.
Actually @opaque coyote since we are at it.
I know of someone who had the idea that since HSR is explicitly not set in Milky Way…
…
…the crew could end up travelling to the Milky Way 40k version
...okay this is gonna be weird so buckle up
Basically, HSR is in the same universe as Hi3rd
in fact
ALL of the games
are in the same universe
The exact same
Beginning from Hi3rd
Yes even ZZZ
Peripherally aware there is a connection, but not sure how that works 😅
And here's where the weird part comes in
I am roughly aware of the Nordic World Tree element
The universe is a tree.
Basically ships are made to traverse the branches and such.
Kinda similar to the warp except without the hell part
The Quantum Sea could be considered the "ground" of the Tree.
With it basically containing mini worlds that die quick
Think of it like a branch falling to the ground
Alternative timelines die there.
Genshin is somewhere far away from the other games, but technically in the same universe.
Right…so…
Quantum Sea is like the “soil” of reality, from which the tree of existence grows into many different alternative timeline branches.
HSR is good chunk of the universe. With a border around it made by Qlipoth to protect from Eldritch horrors
With the Aeon of Voracity being one
While Hi3rd is within the HSR slice... somewhere.
Earth is a thing there
And it is the actual Earth with Berlin and shit.
I…see…
Welt is actually from there
I kind of do and don’t get it at the same time XD.
I mean if we are using branches as a universe per se…
…what is the tree trunk?
He got kidnapped by space priates!
writers who misuse the word quantum need to be punished
Ironically enough it's used correctly in terms of Quantum being "discrete packets" instead of a continous stream.
I know Nuka Cola quantum
At the end, quantum basically means is the minimum/smallest amount of any physical entity (physical property) involved in an interaction. The concept of quantum is the opposite of continuous. When we’re talking about energy for example, on a really small scale, energy levels aren’t continuous, they’re quantized. You can picture it as a ramp (continuous) vs. a staircase (quantum). You can’t exist between two stairs, you can only be on one stair or another. In that way, quantum energy is discrete.
The quantum sea basically creates bubble universes that are literally meant to die. They aren't continual. They exist for one moment, die the next. Their lifespan random, but always short. Compared to the rest of the universe on the tree, they might as well be small enough to be quantized. The interaction, the release of energy, being their death.
As small as a photon is to us. To the tree, they are the smallest amount of the imaginary energy they're made of.
Now you might be thinking
"Is this confusing?"
Yes!
Very much so!
I might even be completely fucking wrong!
Because in Hi3rd, due to being relatively new, the translators fucked up. For a while people thought there was a multiverse due to the Bubble universes and all that.
There isn't.
Bubble universes are more failed timelines.
Basically I am half convinced that whoever writes the lore for Hoyoverse games basically grabbed a bag of cocaine
Sniffed it all
Wrote this shit
and died to an overdose.
To be replaced by another random guy.
How is this related to games outside of HSR and Hi3rd?
It isn't
This is kinda useless.
Basically
Genshin takes place somewhere in the boonies and the travelers just happened to be two random people making a pitstop before their car got stolen, and their sibling got beaten and taken by the locals. Also they might be royalty of a dead kingdom but that's not relevant.
HSR is a road trip across the stars. With the crew being:
- an old man that looks 90 and 30 at the same time
- emo boy that loves reading and has a tragic backstory
- coffee addict
- pompom
and finally you, an artificial being with a nuclear power plant inside of you.
ZZZ is somewhere else idk I never played it.
And Hi3rd takes place around the Solar System. With a whole other story that's complicated as fuck. But basically, stopping the world from dying quickly turns into cosmic horror.
arasaka
Basically all I can say is
Where are the Hoyoverse lore channels
Where is my Vaatividya equivalent?
smh

Lol
Eh, I seem to be the only person on this server playing Sword of Convallaria, so. XD
All this yap effort spent on hoyoslop
eugh
Kalkite
Ignore him, some people have a mortal vendetta against Gacha in general.
Also I think the funniest part is that the lore switches from genocide to somebody trying to make a perpetual motion machine out of hilichurls.
On a coin flip
It's like the game itself. 50/50 chance to either be somewhat disturbed or laugh.
I mean, since you understand what I ramble on about, here is my speculation of some Genshin lore pertaining to Khanri’ah lore…
||so, that Cataclysm 500 years ago, what I believe is that Rhinedottir and her accomplices are responsible for tampering with the Abyss, which I THINK is equivalent of Imaginary in HI3rd.||
||This led to Abyss and monsters overflowing the place, forcing Celestia to send in some heavy hitting Archons to do damage control (but also conveniently getting rid of the more competent ones to secure their own power)||
||Now it is said that Celestia cursed the non-native Khaenri’ahns into becoming Hilichurls. But I personally suspect that is not actually the case. Rather, it is Abyssal energy that did so.||
||However, recalling that Nahida was locked up during that 500 years, that meant someone tampered with Irminsul to “retcon” history into thinking it was Celestia that turned non-native Khaenri’ahns into Hilichurls.||
That is mostly true. It is implied that Khaerin'ah did something fucked that caused their civilization to implode onto itself. With Celestia and some Archons having to contain the damage.
However, Celestia is currently fully automated. Something happened in the cataclysm that damaged them to the point where they put their systems on auto mode.
As for the Hilichurls. Now that would be interesting. The problem is that Hilichurls existed even before Khaerin'ah.
Multiple civilizations got destroyed before them. And there just... happened to be an increase afterwards
Khaerin'ah is just the most recent in a long line of turning people into hilichurls
…oh huh
Celestia really is overkill on that then…
Even then, it mostly targeted "traitors". AKA immigrants from other regions to there.
The native ones got a worse fate. An immortality that still has their mind rot while their body is pristine
You get the dementia and you can't die!
It's also why Dainslief has a hard time remembering. His brain is basically overflowing with 500 years of information and basically barely functioning
Furina also had this too. She doesn't remember the past hundreds of years very well.
I mean I thought Furina was just too traumatised and too busy pretending to even remember but yea, her immortality is also a curse
It is cuz she french
Yeah.
Alpharius would be proud of the bullshit Focalors pulled.
Also the Narwhal is also implied to be in HSR
As a species of whales floating around in space... That just happen to have a similar description.
With the description of the boss in Genshin implying it came from somewhere outside Teyvat
Also the background of it's inside and the shadow knight it summons has the quantum symbol
Also the fight with Childe and the Whale is funny if you think of it as Skirk throwing a toddler against a bulldog
And watching to see what happens
It is literally her master's pet
this is a very roundabout way to say they used the word quantum because it sounds cool
Basically but at least it's semi correct
So overall
E h
Isn’t genshin that waifu game

One of many
also what do you mean quantum elements can't exist between two states? that's like the whole idea of quantum physics as far as i understand it
And there's men also
I thought it was just a goon supplement
Depends
I mean I respect it don’t get me wrong
Sometimes you gotta have a little genshin to reach ur impact
it's literally all porn
Like Quantum elements itself.
Yes and no.
It's less in-between and more in multiple states. Using Schrodinger's cat, it is both dead and alive.
It isn't in-between. So the cat can be dead and alive, but it can't be dying.
Dying does not exist.
And now you know why Quantum is used as a buzz word. Because even the scientists who are dedicated in this field still argue about it everyday with their own interpretations and theories.
i don't think that's what it means at all
i just know quantum physicists do know a lot about it, we're just dumb
Either way, this is why Polymaths are basically gone now
that was a thing when being smart meant knowing the basics of every field
Yeah but now that every STEM field has a rabbit hole into the pits of hell
Well...

Eh the basics are still the basics
you dont get a pat on the head for doing mechanical physics
Ironically enough, I actually learned what a polymath is from 40k.
Basically just somebody explaining how the Imperium lost their technology
What about a pat on the butt
Basically that a nuclear power plant cannot be built from a single person. Especially if the people who have that knowledge died. And that for the Imperium, that's what basically happened. A lot of things got lost because you might know how one part works, but you don't know how the engine works.
Combine that with the Mechanicus 's infamous dogmatic religious sensibilities and backwards nature.
And well you get severe stagnation
bold of you to assume a fictional setting doesn't treat smart people as being geniuses in every single field
judge holden is the best fictional polymath i've seen
he is knowledgeable to the point of being terrifying

I feel like I could put together a 4 year college curriculum that would make someone a Swiss Army knife
I mean you could.
But the knife might not be that good. Some of the tools might fall down.
Sometimes you need a sword

i have not seen it used enough that immortal characters should be geniuses from time investment alone
the brain has the amazing capacity to keep creating more room for knowledge
Honestly I think Immortal characters should just have a mixed amount.
Like sometimes they use a theory from 300 years ago only to realize
"Oh yeah, the 4 humors has been disproven. I forgot."
that should be some dumb character
Math through diffeq, stats, physics through quantum, chem through physical, biochem, cell biology, dev/anatomy, world history, Greek Latin, major English poets
if you're actually interested in science you don't still believe the outdated shit you might have learned as a kid
Done.
Like it shouldn't happen to often. But I think a "genius" immortal character should occasionally mess up because their brain has so much knowledge throughout history
Oh intro geology
It's just him, except he still uses the old ways of "science"
I know. It's less "belief" and more "whoops I accidentally messed up for a bit. Let me erase that board and try again."
why is language and history in your weird collection there
are you educating an 1800's aristocrat
also starting with quantum physics is insane
it's not even part of the classical model
Like they forgot for a second that a certain theory isn't true
Or even terminology
I can imagine an immortal character accidentally slipping into using older slang for a second
Don’t be obtuse I mean calc based classical and also quantum
Honestly an entertaining comedy I have thought of is for somebody to have a long lived immortal as a roommate.
Like part of a physics major
Like they're just a regular dude dealing with somebody who lived for 800 years
Can’t be a good human without poetry sorry I didn’t make the rules
again whyyyy quantum
Either that or a reincarnation of an old friend that the Immortal sought after to shoot the shit again
Oh also new and Old Testament
it's a niche part of physics
Theology isn't really that important for a job
To snap you out of your deterministic misconceptions
I just saw this on twitter and i am now angry 😠
It is to understand the modern world
And literature
Philosophy and life skills would be more important in that regard
See this is someone who didn’t take my curriculum
Philosophy to help set the ground for thinking for yourself.
And life skills for general things like
Cooking
Understandable rage
The moment I saw that comment had 35 replies I knew it was nothing but people shitting on him

False. Ok maybe Plato
this is what happens when you think every single 40k game should just have boring gothic music
Based af
Fair lmao
Darktide has plenty gothic though
philosophers when i asked them what has philosophy done for the world which is actually tangible
It just has variety
Yep
But what does tangible truly mean?

Its not just gothic though
it has a ton of synth, industrial, etc
calm down jordan pederson
do NOT ask where politics come from
True everything is just electron orbital probability distributions
you WON'T like the answer
i don't need to because it doesn't matter
Yeah, love it when it's a combo of gothic, synth, and orchestra.
Could probably put one of the nightclub songs from the John Wick series and you wouldn’t be able to tell
In the comments, the guy literally went onto say that it didnt have enough quire and organs lol
"Me when someone has different opinions"
the problem is when that opinion is actually wrong
😔
You are a flesh automaton powered by neurotransmitters.
I didn’t mean you you I meant “one”
god damn you bot
well your eyes are fallible, so how do you know that?
Philosophy is more of a personal thing anyways in my opinion.
Darktides ost could use more harpsichord
You choose what you want
What credence to follow
be more like Diogenes
live in barrels
also remind rich people they suck ass

"Fucking shit get out of my sunlight horse fucker."
well that's sort of it, the driving force of one's worldview is essentially a philosophy
philosophy acting like they don't need factual evidence despite half their fucking systems being made to support whatever science is actually figuring out
yeesh
things like ideals, beliefs, normatives, are where it matters
Based
Beans smell like semen when you crush them so beans contain human souls
What the fuck are you talking about
But also don't burn anybody that has something different.
...as long as that ideal is NOT also burning anybody that has something different
i do like the idea that money grubbing people in power have ever even considered listening to some guy who's famous for resting his head on his hand in a pensive way in a black and white photo
nobody cares about systems and frameworks!!!!
get a job
except for the millions of people who've died in their processes
but yeah lol, who cares about shit like rights
what?
acting like human right need some moral philosophical backing is some true backwards shit
they do
moral philosophy is like half the reason for why the world is this shitty
it's proven that terrible people use moral philosophy to excuse heinous acts
yeah and it's also the bedrock of society
again, hindsight
what?
sure is easy to claim the entire world
it's not really hindsight if it was also a contemporary description lol
i'm sure a bunch of bearded old guys arguing in a university staff room has impacted the world greatly
publish a book about it
I wish we knew what we were talking about tbh
This is the atmosphere right now
there was an under the table conference a bunch of wealthy types funded where they brought in a couple psychologists and philosophers and the question posed was 'How do we survive the end of the world without my security force just killing me/my family and taking my bunker for themselves.' They didnt want to hear things about how the world ending isnt forgone, but were keenly interested in discussing what companies were developing bomb collars or robotic security
me when federalist papers
sounds like they were just being pragmatic
me when rich people trying to sound smart used to mean knowing philosophy instead of knowing business
Siggy for the love of god
get better bait 💀
Garth Ennis character ahh
If I could afford a death robot that obliterated homeless people on command I'd buy it immediately
I'd name it hubert
Not on my watch

Whaddaya gonna do, build them all houses?
if i could buy a death robot i'd buy sigsen instead
I would use the death robot to eliminate belgians
I will face the bait, I will permit it to pass over and through me, I will turn my inner eye to see the path of the bait, and only I will remain
I need to exploit tourists somehow
I was gonna say sex tourism but then realized you're not a dude so it's not funny
Awful, blow yourself up
why were they asking psychologists and philosophers about bomb collars?
Hah
also if anybody tells me with a straight face that liberals understand liberal philosophy i'm killing them
because rich people are stupid
lmao
that shit is incomprehensible
to control their security forces and prevent themselves from getting merced
Philosophy is literally "Killing people is bad" WOW
one of em wrote a book on how absurd the experience was
Its a lot of things
Well I don’t take them seriously so, guess that’s it for me
I love ones where people like-
try to defend evil folks/groups as uh
"evil and good are not universal constants"
lmao
Yeah haha so obvious everyone in history already bel--
oh...
I said killing "People"
The definition can change

Only Max Stirner had the right philosophy, everything is a spook, whatever that is
Plus he doodled himself as the chad
max stirner is awesome
Destiny’s Light and Darkness shtick makes a mess of that
"let's try to figure out why murder is bad but this time we're using moral frameworks"
"i think homeless people should be killed for the greater good"
single-handedly destroyed secular philosophy without even trying
To be fair there it has actual moral dilemmas
you got people meanwhile actually defending some awful person because uh
"we cant apply our morality to them"
yes we can you dumbass dipshit
lmao
i thought we just murdered everything for the loot
Stirner is very funny and based 👍
Ah the straightforward approach, I like it
before philosophy the world was a fortnite match
dinklebot tells me to kill
plato saved the world
I KILL
bro thinks philosophy started with plato
Play dough
Plato more like poopoo
plato was a hack, stole the writings of his teachers
oh right that's the western belief
passed them off as his own
There's a reason why asia is called the east RAHHHH 🦅
Philosophy started when caveman a caved in caveman b's head with a bone and then tried to justify it
This is my wisdom
It very much is not that deep yeah lol
"You should do this."
'.... why?'
and then philosophy was born
philosophy started when a nerd got bullied for being weak and he had to explain in his room why actually they are the bad ones
Sounds like you ought to get shoved into a locker by a philosopher chad
caveman debate bro
there's a VERY strong irony there lol
why is fire stick hot
Eat
when eat no hungry when no eat hungry
why when grug hit wife she bleed
I call it a demon core, rhymes with Grug
Philosophy? Boobs or butt?
man who cares why shit happens dawg that doesn't change it happening
Sigsen typed feet then deleted it
"hmmm this tsunami is happening because an earthquake 1000 miles away did it"
real fuckin helpful there buddy
we're about to get crushed
sorry that's politics, something with real world consequences
also science
something which is factual
Debatable
“I think we’re on farm land. And where there’s a farm….there’s usually a FARMER.”
I was gonna say boobs vs butt is a spook but decided on butt
if only science could have helped
"yeah see hypothetically if you'd just given me a bunch of money 10 years ago i coulda prevented the tsunami haha"
You guys should start talking about the holocaust
crazy stuff
cause and effect is literally a main part of science
Science is just applied philosophy 🤓
knowing the cause magically fixes the effect be like
philosophy claiming it invented basic human cognition as if logic isn't inherent to the human experience
Truth Nuke.
science is philosophy if it mattered
nuh uh
if all the scientists in the world stopped doing science, nature would continue!
Can we talk about how the British were never punished for 1807 instead
guess scientists aren't that useful after all
I like science related to Space
