Obviously the Warp is shaped by belief, and with Catholicism having existed for 30K+ years (dunno if Cathericism is still around in m42), I'm partial to the belief that God is fully still around in 40K and that the reason the Imperial Creed/Adeptus Ministorum is so visually similar to Catholicism is because, in humanity's pursuit of God as a result of the Horus Heresy, the drive to holiness is influenced by Christianity's presence in the Warp; obviously this is all to a subconscious degree and mainly influences the aesthetics, as I said(cathedrals, halos, saints, mitre hats, etc.), where it still differs in doctrine. In a similar vein of logic, if it were to be taken for granted that the Primarchs' souls are derived from Warp entities, then Sanguinius would be the Archangel Michael.
I know the actual reason can be boiled down to "Catholicism looks cool," but given the subtleties of the Warp's function I can't help but think this holds water
