having to live in such a brutal planet their physique has made them the peak of unaugmented humans
yes
Sick
It's a gun with proper posture and control you can shoot it fine
Do bolt pistols even have recoil?
every ballistic weapon has recoil
Very slick
2 stage ignition gyrojet
it first fires normally like your normal gun
Yeah that
then it ignites the rocket
this would be a sick khorne knight
Knight Ruinator
Lol
What a name
Though I suppose we already have the desecrator, slaughterer
a siege drill screams these guys are poor
Lol
i love it but it still can kill you
I hope if they do sayl, he comes with his special chaos spawn guy
Wait are all chaos knights
reverse jointed
because i'm pretty sure normal imperium knights are like normal bipedal legs
All questoris knights have that leg setup
OK this is an average questo knight
See how the legs have visible knees and look more bipedal
chaos knights
Have this chicken shaped legs
where is reverse jointed and has less armor
Maybe because Chaos are older generations?
to be honest all of these do carry massive melee weapons
so they are probably built more for speed and the reverse jointed legs help with that
only that the spoiler has the
bipedal armored legs
It’s an assembly option
You can do it with questoris if you want
It’s a very like fancy kit
i can give them the chaos chickem legs?
i see
I wish there were some visual rogue trader mods that aren't just ai generated slop portraits
Maybe I can use toybox to kitbash an outfit
it's a lot lighter than it looks probably
but heavy bolters are an exception. most people can't handle it
idk where the common misconception that "humans can't handle bolters" came from
like it's so easily disproven with a ton of examples
Aren't they all pretty heavy
they look hefty but we as a human species here on earth shot heavier
as you see in darktide
Seeing a skinny malnourished homeless looking guy shoot a bolt pistol with one hand feels weongn
Wrong
https://youtu.be/7F_Pay7MErw?si=bKNHtEWhiQaHh1hH if humans can do this we can shoot a bolter
Dual wielding Barrett 50 Caliber rifles! Shooting two at the same time!! At Shockwave in the Desert shooting event Phoenix Arizona 2014
Good luck doing that for any longer than this tho
oh right and bolts have a lot less recoil than they look
they aren't conventional shells
I literally showed you a reply of me saying
There are some that are just collections of existing art. You found those?
That they literally first shoot a conventional projectile then propel the ammunition
For whose who play rogue trader and mods the game, I know toybox or redress has an option to include npc outfits to show up as your outfit, but how do you see what those actually look like?
I want outfit stuff
it's how modern rocket launchers work i believe
a rocket takes too long to accelerate
And it is a pain to tell those apart from the ai slop shit so I don't bother
i find it pretty easy
Rocket launcher also often have some recoil anyway
not much
most rocket launchers use the propellant as its own anti recoil mechanism
once the rocket is activated it's essentially just a rocket in a guiding chamber with very little connection to the operator
I am not gonna check every portrait mod to see if any of the art is ai
In game ones are good enough
I need actual outfits
But the heated air expanding in the tube can cause something similar to recoil
the thing with the bolter is there doesn't seem to be anywhere for the rocket backblast to go
except the ejection port i guess
but the rocket probably only activates when it exits the muzzle anyways
The Rocket backblast wouldn't matter for Bolts, as they're meant to have exited the barrel before the rock part activate iirc
ye
yeah basically
the normal ballistic part of the bolter goes first
as it's spinning in the air it turns into a rocket
you know if the model designers actually put thought into it i'd say the muzzle break that all bolters have could be the point where the rocket is activated, which explains why there's such a big muzzle blast in animations
idk what whoever wrote that meant by working like a grenade launcher
as in the 40k guardsman grenade launchers?
because real grenade launchers dont have such a complicated mechanism
it's from this
it's pretty old
must be
it mentions autoguns afterwards so i'd assume so
i guess 40k grenade launchers work with gyrojets
grenade launchers in 40k are probably one of the least talked about weapons
since they're so mundane
i think it's only talking about both of their explosive nature
oh hey that's cool
some grenade launchers are railguns
but ye grenade launchers in 40k are really the "jack of all trades" weapons
Or the weapon using a weaker charge
oh true
that makes a lot of sense
As said in the video, this is very unsafe...
You can actually see the raw power/recoil of the guns push the soldier back a bit, he barely keeps his footing...
EDIT: I don't have time to check my youtube account 24/7, unfortunately, but i recieved a few friendly mes...
since the bolter is essentially a direct fire grenade launcher lol
i always got the vibe that the guard heavy bolter emplacements are like those IRL heavy grenade launchers
Dual shooting FN Minimi is not that bad.
the fun part is when shooting the gun becomes less heavy due to the recoil counterbalancing its weight
The 1st burst throws you off, but you will find the balance point shortly after.
The Soviets were the closest group to have made a bolter, and that ended up going onto an armoured vehicle series.
I think it was the BMP?
what do you mean
I’m actually so smart yall
their TOW missiles?
You mean the atgm that shoots through the barrel?
america also had cannon fired TOW missiles
All Soviet tanks since the T-54 can do that.
The 2A28 Grom also known as KBP 2A28 Grom, is the main armament of the Soviet-designed BMP-1 and BMD-1 infantry fighting vehicles. It is a 73 mm low pressure smoothbore semi-automatic gun with a wedge breech block. Development of the 2A28 Grom was directly linked to that of the SPG-9 recoilless gun; both fired projectiles similar to rocket-prope...
Don't care cool knight
i'm just kidding
but seriously though the chaos knight looks banger
Looks awesome
imagine being so poor the best you can give your chaos knight
Is a repurposed drill
The 9M117 Bastion is a Soviet laser beam-riding anti-tank missile. It is used in a number of separate weapon systems, including the 9K116-1 Bastion missile system (AT-10 Stabber), 9K118 Sheksna (AT-12 Swinger), T-12 anti-tank gun and the 3UBK12 fired from the BMP-3. The 100 mm projectile entered service in 1981.
I do wonder if the driller arm was something that loyalists knights used to have or if it was something the Dark Admech made.
There are 115mm, 125mm and 152mm versions used on different tanks.
i cant remember the name of the american tank that used missiles
MGM-166 LOSAT ?
no it's some sort of obsolete regular looking tank
hmm
the surname is on the tip of my tongue
No idea then
this thing
M551
Nato has similar weapons. The 76mm Correctto is the smaller version of those things.
M551 sheridan
155mm Excalibur guided artillery is a big thing.
infrared guided missiles so essentially useless in the modern age
i can't wait for the reemergence of fly by wire but with fiber optics
It was also useless in its four years of service
Apparently they see two guns as cowardice
wasn't it meant to be air dropped
i dont really know why cannon fired missiles fell out of fashion but there must have been a good reason
Y'all went from my silly question to American artillery
The yankees love the idea of airdropped vehicles so probably
M551 was a trend chasing project, and was deployed in a wrong war for it.
well they did cancel the recent one
well yeah
no self respecting chaos knight
Would not carry a melee weapon
the abram just sucks logistically
Because whatever you see in 40K, we have real life examples of equivalent or even stronger.
it's too heavy
and for some reason the military refuses to use the term light tank anymore
Slaneesh?
Asking for a friend
Begone, thot.
Ok, man, stop thirsting over fictional characters.
There are women in the wild.
(the wild as in outside of your house)
Answer the question it is important
Are you keeping all the irl navigators for yourself

Who needs tanks anyway, more artillery is needed
no deino is into more exotic things
Put artillery on tank
What is more exotic than a pale fish woman who can see horrors beyond our comprehension
that's what the booker project was supposed to provide. a mobile heavy weapon
I don't know you figure it out
tanks these days are just guns on tracks that can defend themselves
actually that's what tanks have always been
Saint Sabbat
aos also has good ones
Tell me
No, I don't have any, I'm going through the chaos of the society blind.
It's part of fantasy
Mid
well yes but people usually refer to both things as different things
Them fighting words
i love objectifying fictional characters
Looks like a weird amx-10
Just adopt french tanks one hundred one hundred
Tahlia Vedra is a queen ❤️
Explode
well it's been cancelled
My point stands
as long as production of basically all types of infantry vehicles
you will walk to your point
Albino meth-head looking girl
I'd rather go out with a knife ears.
Also, nav prefer to inbred, I don't like that American mindset.
Light tanks face many logistic problems.
It is not the early cold war any more, the expensive components on the tank is not the frame and case, but the electronic systems on it.
IFV does the job of light tanks well, while they are easier to maintain overall.
You need a big enough gun to do damage to other tanks, which comes with the ammunition storage issue. If that requirement is dropped, an autocannon can do pretty much everything a big gun can do.
There are many examples of big gun mounted on light chassis today, but they are all considered as SPG/SPAT, because the actual troop support capacity is so limited.

main battle tanks face much bigger logistics issues
M10 booker: 38-42 tonnes
M1a2 abrams: 66.8 tonnes
the M10 is described as a roll on roll off tank for its ability to be quickly taken in and out of a transport plane
They cancelled the M10 Booker last week.
i'm betting you it's only officially on hold
it will come back when the admin isn't brain dead
or probably a similar program since the tank was still considered overweight
It's apparently cut costing.
ye that's bullshit
the military doesn't cut costs
at least not more than they already are
pete hegseth is a moron
or he's bought out by russia
probably both
and all the top DoD officials are resigning
this is literally a requirement in the "army transformation and acquisition reform program"
literally trying to insert grok into the army
Considering the admin is full of Fox News fellas, it's probably both
that other one about 3d printing by 2026 is wild too
trying to change the entire manufacturing process of the military in a single year???
An AI for military usage is going to go badly
there is literally no advantage to this
if something was made more efficiently with 3d printing it would already have been implemented
this isn't new technology
it's these morons trying to say tech buzz words to look like they're doing stuff
They're just trying to save money where ever possible so they can horde it
the thing is that this would cost the army more money
to change manufacturing processes on the fly
I wonder if it'll force US manufacturers to work in Europe or Asia
and again this is not about saving money. the military is a black hole of budgets, nothing comes out but everything goes in
this is the only thing that the admin can't gut to give to the rich
Will they get push back from the military and manufacturers?
they fired a ton of military high officials already
as well as all the resignations
Bruh
I wonder if they'll get anything done as is, because I keep hearing contradictory things about how they're handling things
guess they lost their spines a while back
that's because nobody in the pres's circle even says the same things
trump doesn't even know what's going on
Yeah they all have their own interpretation on how things should be ran
So will they actually get anything done is my question, outside of stuff that's easy to destabilize?
oh boy i wonder what they mean by that last one
"make civilian contractors easier to fire"
Where is this from
can't wait for half the military to be H1B visa holders
Those guys aren't going to very motivated
if they're told they get citizenship through service they prob would
that's already a thing
Yeah, only thing motivating them is not getting fired and being forced to return to wherever they're from
Plus who is going to be H1B-able and yet have enough creds to do military work?
and that's prob what the document meant by revising hiring practises lol
TBH, sounds like the US Mil might have their own L85 incident if this the case.
you dont need to be certified to do the ground work like driving trucks
civilian workers do the basic shit
like construction
janitors
how is a poor service weapon in the british military making a connection in this?
i don't even know what to compare this to
People are less likely going to care about spotting out mistakes or fixing them.
There's going to be ALOT of cut corners
I mean it's happening from this plan, but on the ground, also applicable
the one thing i see that will be interesting is the new focus on drones
that's the first part of the document
they want to build a drone swarm military but probably for all the wrong reasons
they see drones and think less people to hire
and they 100% think that AI will replace human drone operators
Will backfire horribly
this is the same section that says the AI integration and 3d printing btw
sigh sucks how i have to learn the new service rifle by the time i ship out. Spent most of my life learning about the components of an M4 carbine and now its gonna be the XM7
i think the 3d printing is because they look at ukraine and want to literally apply 1:1 what they're doing
but that's moronic
ukraine is 3d printing drone bomb fins and other parts because they can't mass manufacture them
injection moulding in just superior in every way
you can't print a drone swarm army.... it's a complete waste of resources
God I hate this stupid rifle
I hate the fact we've nearly gone back to the first nato round proposals.
fun fact that gun's suppressor is made using additive manufacturing
3d printing
it's how they could make such a complex metal piece
We could have had EM2 instead of the L85 if the USA weren't so imperialistic.
i'm still a hard believer in 556 being the best round currently in use
the positives of the bigger cartridge are just edge cases
I think they want to go bigger to defeat modern body armour.
yeah that's one of the main reasons
and it's bullshit
if a 556 hits you, you're out of the fight regardless
broken ribs or other injuries
having more ammunition is always better
more chances to hit is superior to every hit being punchy
XM7 seems solely tailored to long distance and non-urban engagements
then why not return to the full length M16?
adopting the M4 for literally everyone was a terrible idea i agree on that
it was popular with special forces because they actually fight in these close range engagements. it's dumb to have every grunt shorten their effective range based on literally super soldier data
Hope they’ll still be more flexible with their armaments after I do basic.
the integrated suppressor is amazing though
low maintenance too
compared to most suppressors
Oh wait, I think only SOF units have that flexibility, okay then
wdym flexibility
as in choosing your weapon?
Yes. But I know that’s not always right most of the time.
afaik you get given whatever you'll get by the armorer
Guess the XM7 will be my best friend for the two and a half months at Benning grits teeth
Basic training.
remember to put tons of effort in both physical and exams because that shit decides if you're given a role or if you have choice
Yeah been working at it for a while. Honestly my concern at the processing station was my Aptitude test. Got a 74 for the qualification score and I still had an eligible line score for combat
does it have to be over a certain amount so you don't have to be in a combat role?
If you score high enough and you haven't decided what occupation you want, then yeah they'll put you into a position they think is better investing on.
but a combat role was what I wanted and made clear the first time i went into the Rec. Office.
so you're given the choice to have a cushy job that the army really needs to be filled and you dont want that?
not even something like a field mechanic?
why would I want to be a fobbit? jk. and No, i've been set and stone with my decision since i was four.
if i had shown interest in mechanics in my adolescence? maybe
Sounds like you would be a fan of the American-180.
22LR Smg that was design to defeat body armour or find the gaps.
Ah army stuff
Which they also sold a twin-linked one as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si7Q6BCPBYg
Russ Breeden good name
I just wish it wasn't age restricted now when it wasn't in the past.
In retrospective, the SCAR-H is about the same price and does the same job as the M7 rifle without all of the issues, half of which come from the ammunition.
Just join the USMC then...
My friends in the US Army are crying a river about the M7...
tried doing that towards the end of my senior year in HS, but that was an impulsive decision and a dark time in my life.
But i'll make do with what i get in the Army, I just favor the M4
cause i'm a basic bumpkin
Like I told my buddies, the only thing I would like to change in the weaponry is the Minimi.
Remove the mag feed port for fuck sake.
That alone will make the gun twice as reliable.
Is M7 European??
USA
well i hope you at 4 were more happy in your decision than when you'll be 30
- six year contract. and If I was already thinking on possibilities of regrets in pursuing what I wanted, I wouldn't have stepped into that office with a clear conscious.
yeah i'm not doubting you. i'm just saying i hope you'll be as happy in 6 years as you are currently
i met enough veterans who came to regret a lot of things
It is my faith that keeps me going. Really the most challenging aspect in all of this will be me separated from my family for a long period of time.
yeah i had to work somewhere very isolated for 4 months and that was pretty hard on me socially so i get it somewhat
but you'll be surrounded by friends at least
and i know for a fact that army friends are some of the closest people you will meet in your life
yeah, what i also like is Benning will be an OSUT for me. Totally forgot they do jump school, so that saves me the hassle of having to transfer to different bases.
rip your knees
What happens to a warrant of trade if the last heir to a dynasty dies?
oh yeah been keeping close care of those. But, gotta be Airborne certified if I can get my foot in with the Rangers.
have you been practicing your landings? getting certified is how a lot of people have halted their military careers
It essentially is left in the air.
Someone else with noble blood and enough credentials and such can lay claim to it.
i'm sure you can learn some parkour tricks too. there's ways to fall from heights without hurting yourself
highest i've dropped is the roof of 1 story buildings, making sure them knees aren't locked.
but right now i'm focusing on endurance training and rucking long distances
Or someone with enough balls could try to pass themselves as part of the dynasty
The Parent Trap but they kill your ass if they find out
is it true that army fitness requirements are stupid af like a marathon runner being considered barely acceptable
don't know about that angle, but it is to the benefit of applicants that they condition themselves for physical activity over a long period of time. Ik they're most likely shortening the 2 mile run time from 22 mins to 18 mins
do you think you could qualify for special forces
or is that something you only get after you've proven yourself as a ranger
Can’t anyone just pick it up and take it?
No lol
You are nothing unless you can legitimise it
Pretty sure warrants have been lost in poker games, so it’s not entirely unheard of
Yeah but that would still require legal transfers/approvals
So like if the last scion of a dynasty’s ship crashes and they die, someone scavenging has no reason or use to take the document (I’m assume it’s on their ship in this scenario)
Or you just have to know enough people/be rich enough to pay for the appropriate legal documentation
Pretty much yeah
Im writing a plot on that atm for me and my friend's OCs
Yeah that’s why I was curious
Hi peeps
Cause rn I have a character that’s a washed up rogue trader stuck on the nihilus and all his assets and holdings are on the other side of the rift, and his ship is inoperable
Dilara I am itching to start rogue trader over again lol
Rangers are an S.O.F, there are two methods of qualification. the longer and more condition route is already be an active duty, of course having to get security clearance from a senior officer and screening. i took the other route and was given an opportunity to sign the Option 40 contract. Which, as a civilian, already guarantees me a shot at RASP immediately after basic training and Airborne school.
So he just drinks himself stupid at a bar and tells everyone stories of his days of glory, and I was curious what would happen if he died or just gave it away because he doesn’t care anymore
Reminds of the recent news involving the SAS
Yeah anyone can take it really
especially if its just a small scroll or whatever
you need to remember a Warrant is like 1 in a 10000 thing
its extremely valuable
So if a trader gave it to you as like a gentleman’s agreement or something but there’s no way to prove it, it’s worthless
Yep, they'd get the last laugh essentially lol
i meant something like green berets or one of the hundreds of special forces group
the one about "disposing" unarmed children and adults?
You cant just wave it around without anything to back it up
its like uh
being a new Inquisitor with no goons
man the US has so many special forces groups
Tons of warcrimes
you wave that rosette saying you are from the Inquisition
but like, unless you can back it up oyu will just get shot in the face
it's so hard to keep track of which one does what
especially by some no-life ganger lol
"Who dares win"
I actually wanna have this guy give it in exchange for something really valuable, enough for him to get back on his feet, only for the warrant to be worthless afterwards
Yea, soldiers who served alongside them in Iraq and Afghanistan are now coming out and saying the SAS were like constantly commiting warcrimes
I mean
is that surprising to anyone?
I assume it is for some people but like lol
Special Forces arent exactly stable or good people
One of the reports is of an SAS guy saying "Hey hold this guy down (A civilian) I haven't killed anyone with a knife yet"
Would people still recognize him as a trader even if he can’t show his warrant? Like he scammed it away to some mook
Checks out.
are rangers essentially better trained marines? to me they seem to do similar roles without being like delta force level if you know what i mean
The Warrant is all that matters, look at my Inquisition example again, if you cant back it up you are essentially a nobody.
there are only two individuals that I consider legitimate badasses in any relation to the SAS. Fictional is Price from the OG trilogy. and the other is Robert Blair Mayne
ooooh and this is why you were talking about weapon flexibility earlier
i thought you wanted to be a regular grunt or smth
Captain Price mentioned, commence the gifs
Yeah but that’s my question, if he’s like established as a rogue trader, gives it away to get back on his feet with no proof, and then just claims it was lost when his ship crashed, would he still keep the privileges and everything?
Hell no lol
Without your warrant you are nothing.
Figured
you are just some glorified pirate at that point
Pricette
Rogue Traders meanwhile are privateers (aka pirates but legal)
But with the warrant you also are nothing unless you have a huge paper trail
So if someone steals it from you, you’re just both fucked?
i think it's worth noting that psychological profile tests seem to favor psychopathy so i think it's the soldier selection that's messed up
That's the whole turorial of Rogue Trader, no?
Yeah it is
How are new warrants issued
They aren't?
Its absolutely intentional
Passed down through dynasties?
its from high ranking administratum people or high lords
its not as valuable but like still pretty good
That’s why I’m confused, so if kunrad stole the warrant it wouldn’t do anything for him?
but i wouldn't say that becoming special forces turns you into a crazed murderer
I mean
Takes a lot of the urgency from the prologue

can't answer the first, due to lack of knowledge and my bias of the Army. Think of like, Rangers and Delta as to the Tempestus Scions in terms of size deployment. the former are like platoon to a Battalion and the latter is like, 5-6 operators at a time, kinda like a kill team?
Itma signee by the Emp
They want to use it for corruption purposes
so Delta is smaller and signficantly more specialized
Yeah exactly
I mean new dynasties formed
Damn, they really dared

Cause there’s gotta be a lot of dynasties that get wiped out
Being a RT is a dangerous job
Paddy Mayne
yeah so like special special forces. i know the US has a fuck ton of special forces and a very wide umbrella of what they apply that term to. rangers are pure infantry but they're actually dedicated to combat unlike regular army who just patrol bases and do boring shit all day
I hate war and anything related to it as long as it isnt fictional
it's really hard to decipher the US military structure man
So the Warrants of Trade are more valuable than Letter of Marque
The Regular Army really see action if its like a nationwide threat. Marines are always the first, and the Big Green are just benchwarmers for the space the Jarheads already clear out. I guess, the Army Rangers intend to be the Army's answer for being the "first offense" in a similar capacity like the Marines.
The RT in forges of mars just forges one
And that just fucking works out for him
That is a weird case though
Cause the Archmagos respects his skills vs his pedigree
^
The Ad Mech retroactively ratified it in essence
So he legitimizes it
the Forges incident is an extremely rare case
and hes just lucky
if that was any other Magos he'd have prob killed him lol
Well he brought him on knowing he was fake because he wanted his particular skills
Yeah again rare case.
And also again, any other magos may not have been as forgiving
Another magos probably just wouldn’t take him along at all
If they can easily discover they are fake on a background check
aren't smaller special forces groups sent in first to infiltrate enemy lines and provide intel from locals like the US did in the iraq invasion? afaik the US keeps dedicated command groups for every part of the world trained specifically in their continent to be ready for a war breaking out literally anywhere
typically. its kinda hard to see how it plays out now. the most action we see currently is watching out for our heavily armed neighbors in the south
It's funny people always bring this up for WW2 because they are usually always talking about Léo Major who iirc was a big on Québec nationalism and prob would've hated being called Canadian.
yeah that's also the biggest advantage of the spec ops. you don't have to officially disclose wtf they're up to
It is actually true, hence why his story is obscured in Canada for a long time.
It's like witnessing the movie Sicario in real time
i think right now they're mostly involved in training allies
well they used to
idk anymore with everything that's happening
i know they used to work with the canadian military a lot
Most of the wars we talk about in Canadian history is mostly WW1 since it was a big turning point for Canada finding itself (the brits fucked us hard in that war)
If I recall correctly, Leo Major even refused some award because of the Quebec national stuff.
brits fucked canada in WW2 too with the zombies
churchill was a jackass
He refused the award because he thought monty was a moron
he wasn't happy with the volunteers fighting in europe so he asked mackenzie to start the draft
despite canada having 0 reason to be there
That's what they all say...
but WW1 was extremely unpopular in quebec
well its already a known fact that the withdrawal from the Middle East was a colossal case of FUBAR and now terrorist elements have all the goodies we left behind to become a proper fighting force.
When they don't like someone.
Hey at least we get Tulips every year now
WW1 is a depressing ass war to think about
WW2 at least taking down the Nazis is a moral thing to do but man WW1 is so
hey man it's not like they have the maintenance equipment. those planes and helicopters won't last more than a year without proper parts and qualified maintenance crews
i think there was a story of how one of em was trying to fly an apache but ended up crashing it.
iran still has F14's rotting away because the US banned all manufacturing of parts or something lol
they did that multiple times which is even funnier
they did it with a Blackhawk and an Apache
yeah no doubt. all the airmen either died during the war or left the country
or they're way too old to help
this isn't like WW1 where people could figure out shit on the fly
if they're smart they'll sell the equipment to other countries and buy stuff they can actuall use
ah back when air combat was heavily romanticized as the "knights of the sky"
I always thought dogfighting in both world wars were cool, before the time of jets
which, connecting it back to 40k. Now i want there to be a game where you pilot Thunderbolt aircraft in the Aeronautica Imperialis
official doctrine since vietnam has been to shoot shit kilometers away and wait for the missile to hit
which works but it's boring
if you can believe it the US air force was getting its ass kicked during the start of vietnam because they were still trying to dogfight
weren't pilots begging them to add an actual gun to the phantom during the war
I need to find it
probably. i just know air force doctrine changed significantly during the war and losses were reduced to single digits
I mean, yeah. But i say that because in all capacity the US military was getting their asses handed to em by Victor Charlie since the latter knew how to fight on their home turf.
that shouldn't have happened though since we're talking about cutting edge phantoms fighting outdated migs
they had radar missiles but werent using them
one thing I did think was pretty interesting was Operation Wandering Soul and how they used psychological warfare by playing "ghost tapes" to break morale on NVA soldiers
I need to find it, but I'm pretty sure one of the reasons SAMs weren't taken out as much as they could is the worry that they would hit the Soviet trainers helping the NVA
lol
i genuinely think that the planes were flying so low that SAM's were ineffective
the tree cover hides the SAM sites but they also block line of sight
about ~10,000 Soviets (from multiple sources) participated in the Vietnam war
operation rolling thunder was really affected by SAM's though
922 aircraft lost during it
also a handful of north korean and chinese pilots
it was a wild time
and then in 2014 when China accused the Vietnamese of ramming into their ships 1,400 times
the Vietnamese going from fighting the French, themselves, Americans, China, and then Cambodia in such a short time is insane
surprised they even made it out
i used to think vietnam was fucked for fighting cambodia but im surprised to learn that they really just wanted to get rid of the kmer rouge
they are a hardy bunch of SOBs.
and somehow the international community condemned them for that
despite literally everyone at the time recognizing pol pot as a mass murdering psychopath
Because America
and they didn't even annex cambodia or anything, they just installed a new government and left
now for some reason cambodia is a constitutional monarchy
they went from french colony to kingdom to republic to communist to constitutional monarchy
i am not making that up
Speed running every political system
its like a buffet line
south asian politics being just war and people screaming at eachother
the region is so weird
look even more south and then you have an authoritarian city state
fingers crossed
Pretty sure Singapore is the only one in SEA
the only city state maybe
at least for city states
authoritarian is pretty much all of them
"clean streets" yeah but no rights
dude clean streets to them means chopping off your arms if you smell like weed
same vibe as killing all homeless people to solve the housing crisis
if all you have is a hammer then every problem starts to look like a nail

i disagree
Dil, can I ask a question
Who did you commission your Inquisitor OC from? He looks rad and I have money now
how many warhammer ocs do you have with 8 alone being inquisitors
I had a falling out with this guy but hes still a pretty good artist.
If you commission him do mention I said hi
Feller does good armour
Reasonable amount if you don't keep abandoning half baked ideas
and yet she shares 0 with us
sad state of affairs
Now I'm curious 😭
we the people demand to see your cringiest OC
you also caved in to the server tag i see
Homosexual Jay, where did you get yours
TIME AND MONEY AAAA
I posted some of my OCs in theorychat awhile ago 😔
i just scrolled this server's member list until i found something good emmesh-aiye
These tags, they're like mlp cutie marks
im on vacation for the next 6 months
these tags will end up increasing traffic for the handful of servers that managed to grab the cool tags
the fucking halo wiki
like who
@storm jungle add a server tag before they're all taken
i need to show everybody that i play darktide
No can do 😔
this channel is so chill
How does one attain this amount of money for local Twitter artists
I just got through with a 17 hour lore debate in the halopedia server
was it about the flood
How do you find what server the tags belong to?
just click on it
Heres 4 of them
these tags are meant to show people what servers you're in
Stockpiling and mostly being patient 💀
but i use to show people that i developped discord
Damn those are clean
It was about UNSC Navy efficacy and fleet endurance from 2536-2552.
holy shit
How the fuck do you literally always cook
Lots of art references
💀
trust me it takes awhile
i developped dilara's art
Argument started about UNSC FTL comms and whether or not the average UNSC naval flotilla could defend an Inner Colony for a set time (eg. two weeks). It spiraled from there.
does microsoft care this much
🖐️ 🖐️ 🖐️ 🖐️ I'm going to need your Pinterest folder 💀
The 3rd looks like the nicest one
Real buddy type
why do they all look lesbian
The commissioner is why
I wouldn't be a wiki nerd if fictional ship capabilities didn't get me going like crack cocaine to a vulnerable youth.
Its not pinterest......
This official art dump took me like 4 years to gather
What the actual fuck
why do i never see you talking about 40k ships
Hes a very nice Lord Inquisitor

why did you buy 2TB for that
Because its cheap?
and I like art collecting
if you saw my Guard art vault you'd splooge
it's a hard drive?
lol
That's literally my entire hard drive space. (I'm cooked) 💀
SDKFLSDKFLSDFSD

my hard drive is furry porn
It took me like 8 fucking years to even get a 2TB for my own PC
Drive is way easier
i will go unplug the google server so you lose everything
WAAAA
40k is alot more loosey-goosey with hard capabilities than Halo. Also a different genre. As a Halo lore guy, 40k is like the jock in a high school movie that shoves you in a locker for being a nerd.
there is no fucking way that halo has more accurate lore than 40k
i refuse to believe this franchise has that kind of lore
It does, actually. Not better lore, per say. But it's a measure easier to parse and discuss in firm details than 40k.
Especially with Halo: Warfleet coming out and giving us hard stats and capabilities for all mainline ships.
i thought halo lore was "and then master chief arrived"
That's game lore, it's like how Space Marine is like "and then Titus arrived"
It very much does.
Halo has a ton of realism because its just advanced sci-fi more than high fantasy shit like 40k.
why do i keep hearing about lore accurate master chief being even more OP
If you only played the game, it's not narratively related.
^
also he straight up single handedly wins wars COME ON
if the Marines, Arbiter and other characters didnt help him he wouldnt get where he is
what about when he defeated the guys in 4
4 is where teh franchise goes off the rails
anything from Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, Reach, etc are just more grounded and better explained.
master chief mind telling what youre doing on the vengeful spirit
Sir. Gooning on Horus
reach doesnt have chief so that's good
Same thing, still has spartans
Fuck you
Chief, remove his balls
just show your face dumbass stop acting like you're doom guy
HE DID THOUGH
when
No one cares nor does he.
Novels give you more details than the game, it's a feat of the medium. Still, Spartans die in them all the time.
yeah like 5 pixels
I don't know anything about the halos and I assume his suit sucking him dryer than the Sahara is a joke but is he really gay with that alien
spartans yeah but not master chief
if microsoft had balls they'd kill him
but they'd prob replace him with cortana or smth
You can literally say this with any protagonist character
It's like in 40k how if you only play the TT and Space Marines, Astartes are basic super soldier slop. Then you read the novels and they're pumped up in feats and abilities.
^
Plot armor is plot armor.
If you want lore accurate halo play it on Legendary
insta dead to sniper
you know how cortana became the windows 10 shitty ass helper
what if the next game has copilot replace cortana
their shitty AI
no
In First Strike, Chief gets almost killed by an Elite the surprises and nearly guts him with it's energy sword, then later in the same book, he almost dies to a brute and has to basically Jiu-Jitsu his way out of death.
do humans still use ai in halo after like 3/4 of them tweeked out and tried to become dollar store terminators
shes dead
Chief is way more grounded in the books, and gets his ass beat on a number of occasions.
is she
Yes. (No.)
if their is such a place i imagine she is
Cortana 'CTN 0452-9' is dead. The Weapon is basically Cortana if she was a factory reset iPhone.
Lore Spartan are strong, but not Doom Slayer bullshit kind of power.
Shes hot so it doesnt matter.
I like Halo lore more.
put your dick back in you pa-
oh wait no
Though, the energy shield power is so inconsistent between books.
put your uh taco back in the food truck
Real.

Gives me conniptions.
i have halo lore question
??
who tf makes the energy sword
is it covenant
why does humanity not make their own swords
bullets are badass yo
The Elites.
humanity is massively underdeveloped next to the covenant thats why
they manufacture them?
It was forged back in the ancient days, and is (was) a ceremonial weapon.
Energy shield is can sometimes tank autocanon, sometimes get deleted in a single burst of rifle.
also the elite have like straight up metal swords that are also in the exact shape of energy swords
Think of energy swords as power swords from 40k.
ok somebody needs to explain this to me too. how many fucking years have they had to learn covenant tech
Marks of status.
as of 4? like 10 at most
Earnestly 10, give or take.
WHAT
the war with the covenant didnt last that long
Covenant gear has a habit of exploding or rendering itself non-functional.
humanity would have been wiped out if it had
so the entire game franchise has taken place in 10 years
So recovering intact gear during the war is hard.
that too
that's a lot of fucking stuff happening in a decade
Not exactly.
Covenant gears consume enormous amount of energy, it is not practical for human.
the war iirc took only a few years from start to finish
also like a human isnt going to fare particular great in hand to hand /melee with a grunt much less a brute or elite
Eh, nah, it is at least 1 generation of human.
then there is time skip between 3 and 4
it was?
Johnson was at the start and the end of the human-covenant war.
He was young at the start.
2552, the end of the 27-year long Human-Covenant War:
Halo: Reach
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo 3: ODST
Post Human-Covenant War
2557: Halo 4
2558: Halo 5
2560: Halo: Infinite
ok i was wrong
halo reach is a prequel?
Yes
i never knew
reach was one of the first planets to fall to the covenant iirc
Contact Harvest is the start, year 2525.
It's a fortress world and practically the home base of the UNSC military. It was one of the very last to fall.
It's what they used in the ancient times before they were uplifted by being beaten by the Prophets and signing the Writ of Union, forming the Covenant.
In the lore, the 7.62x51 is strong enough to fight off the covenant. Also, if you want a lore accurate Halo, the AR would have the same damage profile as the DMR, since they use the same ammunition.
Halo AR is a different beast between lore and game.
They use different propellant to be fair
The BR, yes, not DMR.
the human assault rifle is the shittiest fucking main gun i have seen in any franchise both in looks and usefulness
It's a bit strange. you'd think the planet that is the heart of the UNSC military would have more Orbital Defense Platforms or at least the same amount as Earth's
UNSCs 7.62x51 uses different propellant to ours.
Reaches SMACs platforms are more powerful than Earth's though — larger and more expensive.
too bad, the ol'girl has never failed me in all titles
superspacepowder™️
bruh just left clicking until enemy dead
darktide gameplay
well you ever try to short burst it?
you are hereby banished
no because it doesnt kill anything
i just drop it and get an actually good gun
Well, the AR and DMR still share ammo, which mean they are still as powerful as on to the other.
play ogryn mk3 club w confident strike and tell me its anything different
ah so the furry does have good tastes
the human shotgun was the best CQC weapon in 4
Reach was attacked by a full fleet, Earth was attacked by a much smaller fleet.
the KA CHINNG with every shot was ecstasy.
broken clocks... striking right twice to something
the covent didnt even know earth was our homeowrld
Nope, not until Halo 2...
lets just be thankful Chief annihilated Truth's hidden fleet of 500 ships by destroying the Unyielding Hierophant
They tried to glass every important planet, trying to purge human.
are they stupid
regret was
They did get to earth before, but they don't know if it is the homeworld.
yeah the San'Shyuum are one of the stupidest species in the lore, from the ancient times to now
no we just purged the nav data every time we encountered the covent
death to ball chins
Hey, has someone tried to eat a Tyranid before?
cole protocl
literally capture any fucking guy and torture them so they say that earth is our homeworld it's not like it's some top secret info
nah it was the policy to wipe all data in the ship's computers if they ever got boarded, so they couldnt find the location of our homeworld
pretty sure Kroot have? don't remember how it turned out
Yeah, you get poisoned.
just capture ANYBODY
even a fuckign janitor
Like the meat is tainted?
well if your race was on the line of Genocide and you were all that stood between hastening it or buy time, would you confess even if they'd still kill you?
Literally every single thing in a tyranid's body is hostile and venomous so yes.
you think the average person can give galatic cords of a planet?
Dang.
as a janitor i am not trained in this shit im a fucking janitor
the thing is the covenant didn't really take prisoners all that often
Best excuse.
What about Kroot or Vespid?
Kroot thing its tainted meat
they just need to be drawn a picture right
Vespids dont eat Nids
that way at least they know what it looks like
No, I mean, could I eat Kroot or Vespids?
yeah and the humans would often fight to the death, because they didnt have much of a choice ether way
??? you try to accurately draw a star in a 3d space
Probably. Depends.
Like, has someone tried to eat them and the c'ow?
@arctic talon
We dont really know.
there were most likely humans who don't even know what Earth or where it is because they grew up on colony worlds
huh?
Also this yeah
like-
you ask people now
aletreon?
most folks dont even know where the fuck most countries are
now make that in space lol
When Alatreon came out people review bombed iceborne because he was incredibly hard
lmao
he had such a dps check\
and now they complain that wilds is too easy, classic
All human colonies know about earth. They are still working for Earth.
They know it exists.
They doınt know its exact galactic spot lol
so really, even if the traitorous punk ass wanted to sell out humanity. they wouldn't even know where to begin. you'd have to kidnap some human that resided in the Sol System, which even then the Covies couldn't get into that fortified territory
The Forerunner device finder (basically) pinpointed to Erde-Tyrene as the location for the the Ark portal, where someone could activate the Halos remotely. The Prophet of Regret, regretfully jumped there immediately with a small excavation fleet, stumbling directly into Earth and its Home Fleet immediately.
not where it is though
Hence there are a number of rebellion, which leads to the Spartan program.
mfs can't even point out nations on a map and they LIVE here
imagine trying to point to earth on a star map
"Innies" such a funny nick name
Spartans were created to kill human rebels, not aliens.
My favorite part of halo lore is how theres literally answers to all these questions.
Helps destroy bastards like Jay instantly.

lol
lol
mhmm
glassed his ass
we should feed you soup of 1 week blinding
xD
"What system is this? Where is it?"
"Uhhhhh"
"Sol?"
"The fuck is Sol?"
there lol
where you drawing this in MS paint this whole tme?
i cant
take a right turn when you reach proxima centauri
yes
"Whats Proxima Centauri?"
the closest star
this is how a Sangheili illustrates it. found some parchment and a crayon on a planet they were glassing and went tap tap "Do you know dis?"
???
"What star, we are in space, theres millions of stars."
the fuc is a jupiter
the one called proxima centauri
Well, it is like the Covenant knows about the existence of the Halo ring, but they didn't see any until Halo CE.
Try explaining that to them
There are different level of "knowing".
exactly
yeah the covenant dont know the names we humans use for the stars
look if you just watch the H2A terminals, Regret was given a forerunner device they found on a colony world that mapped out a route to "Erde Tyrene" or Earth. THERE. end of story
Human ships rarely are disabled by Covenant ship-to-ship weapons, typically being gutted with all hands lost. Ships that are boarded are self-destructed and nav-wiped.
Prisoners are rarely taken, both due to humanity being seen as vermin.
And the fact that prolonged human exposure risks the fact being exposed that humanity are inheritors of the Forerunner legacy. That risks the entirety of the Covenant being exposed as a lie, fracturing the Writ of Union.
Humans, thusly, are typically executed on sight.
yeah thats the only reason they found earth at all. forerunner tech
Yeah the forerunner device would've used the old name for earth that the humans and forerunners used
Erde-Tyrene
that is false. we would shoot you as you were in the middle of explaining it
covenant capturing the dumbest fleet officer
i dont know whats worse this convo or hand of abbadon
Abbadon can die alone.
he will continue to scrap every bit of justification to land a win on this argument. even if there is nothing more to go on.
kinda like covie remnants
I respect the commitment
which Abbadon? i know of like 5 of them both real world myth and fiction
ALL OF THEM
It's like knowing that Oni are the good guys and nothing can convince me otherwise
Jokes aside dont take Jay's arguing seriously he mostly does it as a joke, he isnt being that serious, hes like that "Well thats silly man I dont know!" friend you got more than "Well no you guys are wrong 🤓 "
damn it, i need to get off YT, early access content creators are already posting full playthroughs of Doom Dark Ages
Oh shit based
good thing i dont are about spoilers, time to watch an all cutscenes video

what about dunking your head in a bucket of battery acid? would that work
Mood kindred!
It's Doom, there can't be that much new stuff going on
ONI needs some baddies for PR support. Osman ain't doing it.
The final episodes of Andor come out tmr
ive been around long enough to know when jays being jay

Big censorship is at it again
yea but youre evil and im whimsical
