who is known to have killed almost as many allies as enemies in friendly fire incidents
iUGHVGYUHJUI
The Crimson Reaper is a Freeblade Knight who was first sighted during the Rithguard Crusade and has since then participated in battles on scores of worlds alongside the armies of the Imperium. Those who have fought at his side, however, struggle to admire him, as he does not care for the lives of his allies on the battlefield and has readily trampled them to death in his eagerness to clash with the Imperium's enemies
Found it: Knight House Lucaris.
House Lucaris, also known as the House of Serpents and Fanged Knights[2a] is a Traitor Knight House.[1]
shitt
"In the early stages of a campaign, Imperial forces cheer to see this deathly-marked avenging Knight laying waste to their foe. It is never long, however, before the Crimson Reaper's obvious disregard for those who fight beside him stifles this enthusiasm. His allies are forced to look away from his callous deeds, as their own soldiers are trampled underfoot or are caught too close to Thermal Cannon blasts."
lol
lmao
take inspiration from this for when they're fighting Black Legion
they can be like normal and stuff outside of that
what are some notable T'au/Eldar interactions? I know the Dhrukari are on the "cant make peace with" list but what about Craftworlds and Exodites?
the Tau tried to genocide some exodites because they thought they were drukhari, they got fought off and they tried again, craftworld eldar intervened and told them to fuck off, and also that they're not drukhari
Tau tried to tell the craftworld eldar to join the Tau empire
Eldar laughed at them and told them no
Beil'tan genocided some Tau
beecause they were on a Maiden world
as they do
Ulthwe stopped a chaos invasion from hitting the Tau empire
for reasons and then left
any big events during the horus heresy that would keep horus distracted?
Nah
horus was pretty much making a beeline to Terra
Oh
well that would mean he was distracted lol
lmao
also if you wanted your Knights to try to murder Horus
they could try at Beta Garmon
and fail
probably because its a good idea to keep Chaos down in all sectors regardless if you care about the people theyre threatening or not
I was just thinking murder the sons of horus on thier home planet
i mean sons of horus on the knight planet
your good
once the Heresy begun
they could have thought enough was enougha
and they wouldn't go to damination with Horus
if he's a traitor MIGHT AS WELL
yeee
they did like, a few battles with the sons of horus jsut so they can rally up knights
the high king made ac ouncil to plan out theri betrayl
then maybe after they reclaimed their planet, charged into beta garmon, gets clapped, but their loyalty (or use) to the imeprium was proven and were accepted
oh yeah a ahistload of knight houses were there
I read it up only like a week ago since it kept getting mentioned in books
I read it on lexi and like, it was ok
I expected more lol
but its 30k so rip
Do crimson fists have companies? And if so, do they display it on their armour?
30k has the constraint of leading to 40k
so they have a bunch of interesting ideas at times
but they're held back
because
they can't exist
Alas.
so it all just ends with
"and they all died"
Like the Interex actually sounded interesting
and then they just get genocided

All Chapters have companies. But you wont find much on the front of visuals
I think the company role differs depending on the chapter asw
Just go to their wikipage and like
scroll through the artworks
you can use some shit from there
Like if I remember correctly, the Salamanders have a special company dedicated to burning civilians alive
Thats also like
"recent" lore
since GW prob realised Salamanders essentially do nothing evil lol
its on their 9th edition supplement, its hilarious
its campaign book was really good tbh
The Battle of Beta-Garmon, also known as the Great Slaughter of Beta-Garmon, Titandeath,[5] and the Beta-Garmon Campaign,[10] was a major battle of the Horus Heresy.
Lexicanum is your friend magni
its from 7e
i know i cant read
Idk if i just missed it while searching, but the only thing that i could find is maybe the black parts of their insignias are the place where they represent their company but idk.
Literally right before the siege of terra lol
Beta garmon was extremely late heresy
AH oka thank you
It was the loyalists and other elements attempting a decapitation strike
on Horus
it obviously failed
The reality is unless you are a famous Chapter you are not gonna get a full on company insignia page or two
Might be overtalked, but to this day
I still like the contrast of them being the "nicest" chapter but basically casually using white phosphrous on their enemies.
LMAO
But yeah its few nicknames are great
And also they're still SMs
"The Titandeath"
so that's why nice is in quotations
They just won't shoot/burn you if you have a 6th finger
waste of a bolter shell
/fuel
Beta Garmon is funny
Its like one of my favorite battles in the heresy
because its non stop death and violence
Its kinda whatever for me
like
its just a generic ground battle
tanks, titans, 2 primarchs, marines
not enough exotic uh "qualities"

yeah
I LOVE MURDER
titan book
Death.
Sometimes all you need is just
big things exploding
many people dying
etc.
Well yeah, but in this case i thought it would be a bit more set in stone considering its the crimson fists.
I mean Crimson Fists are not that famous
only founding Chapters/big shots get those detailed layouts
as the marketing demands

Are you talking about these?
Yeah that.
As you saw C.Fists just get those more basic layouts
"Heres a helmet with a IV"
I TOLD YOU SO
nvm
For a second i thought you were wrong. Therefor i hit you with the grand and almighty "Fuck you"
It was you who was the fool
but yeah it sucks but it is what it is
Aye... Shame
Id say just take liberties
lore accuracy is cool but you gotta remember most artwork appearances have marines with the most random markings since its largely just "ah fuck it who cares"
Yeah, i guess.
ight made a quote
“There is no greater evil than to conquer, to force an enemy to bow before you with a blade above their head. Were above forcing this upon the enemies of our house as we were once victims of this evil. House Vulstella instead grants the mercy of complete obliteration.”
"There is no greater evil than to conquer, to force an execution upon their souls with a blade above their head. House Vulstella has suffered this indignity, and lost their taste in inflicting it. They instead grant mercy to the soul by obliterating the body."
The Imperium has two distinct dating systems.[2]
Nah its 100% both
like
I appreciate a fictional time system like any universe
but god its confusing
how to tell if a european made a time system
LOL
tbf
considering the imperium
it makes sense if it was absolutely confusing
i hope you can find a good partner with either system

I bet the imperium still has daylight's saving time
I mean, with the Imperium being so large and multifaceted, trying to standartize all of if can't end with something simple to understand
It's less complicated than Danish numbers so it's sensible to me
i have to admit, writing horus heresy lore is really fun
i get why theres like 100 horus heresy books now
It's a good time
^
40k is just so loosey goosey you can just do whatever
soon enough we'll have you making your own sector
also that yeah
you can literally do your own thing anywhere since the galaxy is so big
I'm trying to make grimdark democracy on a planet but it seems so trite
Theres absolutely some downsides.
once you fidn something that clicks it does just click
they are very fun for homebrew
you get to plan out an entire dynasty
I had one become high-king because the original heir slipped in a sauna-pleasurehouse and cracked his skull
fun times with the monarchy
my knight house sent the knights of families loyal to horus so they can do their betrayl without any internal conflict
i think once my high king gets to Beta to kill horus, probably a knight from the ones he sent will stop him and they will kill each other
let the loose ends tie it self up and then just say what horus loyal knights were left went the chaos version of freeblade after seeing thier king try to murder them
Would anyone be for or against Cursed Founding space marines chapters getting a codex?
Eh, I'm not against it but it's not needed. It could be fun for more cursed founding lore and armies with paired curses and advantages but there's other stuff I'd rather see
Most 1st founding codex are already watered down and 2nd found are borderline inexistant. We don't need an almost random finding into the mix.
If you don't mind me asking, but what other stuff would you like to see?
Imperial Knights and Deathwatch could use some updating for existing stuff, as far as I know
I don't care about Tau so I'd like to see some new cool-ass aliens, straight outta the Ghoul Stars so terrorize everyone
“To conquer is to enforce loyalty, to be loyal is to enforce betrayal.”
Congrats
then 40k lore il sweep in a corner and write when i play 40k\
oka im very happy with their culture
House Vulstella are loyal to no master nor do they expect others to be loyal to them. When they join in battles they willfully ignore the commands of others or give any, always expecting to be betrayed as they have millennia ago. The only allegiance in the house can be found in their vows and deeds, marked upon their knight’s armor to show what they will accomplish and what they have already done. The only common trait shared among the House is their absolute unwavering hatred for the followers of Horus or Abbadon. They have abandoned wars to join combat against every Black Crusade, every member of the Black Legion they kill is marked upon their armor as eyes crossed out, and many knights have fallen attempting to slay Abbadon on their own in a frenzied rage.
bit vanilla i admit
Could write that their allegiance to the imperium is set in stone due to their hatred of Horus
But it’s cool
very true
ill add that
their mentality may or may not be inspired by the sisters of battle's Argent Shroud, but htey dont talk
these guys just dont listen
Lol
Now I just imagine a son of horus chilling then suddenly getting obliterated
If you want you can also lean into their weaponry being primarily for killing as many marines as possible
so have been thinking about auto cannons in 40k and like whats the purpose why not just have big bolter
the same as usual lasguns when compared to bolters: las weaponry is much cheaper to fire
Autocannon cheaper yeah
Less expensive or complex ammo
Also
Auto cannon bigger
The size of auto cannon rounds is a good bit bigger then a heavy bolters
And yeah they don’t have 40mm bolt shells
yet
"Hey guys I found this pile of 6 billion 50mm bolt rounds and guns to fire them in an ancient archaeotech vault, how convenient!"
At a certain point, the payload of the projectile has more effect than just the way it is being sent.
Can primaris marines wearing mark 10 armour use the beacie helm, or what is the reason they wouldnt want to
late but to be fair this one is basically ALL codex astartes purists
aka it covers like 90% of chapters or whatever
reminds me of a gaunts ghosts book
think of it like the beak of a jet, just more sensors
idk whether a primaris would use it like sm2 tho
They released primaris beacie models, but idk how the lore works around using different/older armours
yea idk either
id say the beakie has more sensors, but idk if theyve been compared
same for Mk 8
or any older variants like you said
I wrote a little scene for my campaign, where the players interface with the neural augment of a deserted guardsman they just killed, and see his memories, anyone care to hear it?
yeah sure fuck it
older MKs are fully compatible. There's also the fact that Primaris are starting to shove MKX stuff into older MKs
the MK6's sensor array was arguably obsolete when MK7 was made
@queen laurel Chicken Jockey
i hate you but it fits so well
SQUIGGOSAUR
-an ork beastboss
Can successor chapters of the ravenguard not be pale skinned?
generally speaking they've always got melanin issues
due to the defective gene
but you could write that your dudes
mutated it back into being functional
lol
also wolf, you should have told me that empakaai is a thing
also scouts have normal skin colors
They basicially like
slowly lose their melanin
you can see it with the new KT scouts
since they've got normal(but paler) skin tones
I really like the raptors but the black hair and skin ruins the self insert
a variant of the the blackbeared that has an arm with it's own mind
they can have non black hair, losing melanin is gona happen though
What are scouts? Phobos Marines?
So many chapters have like one thing wrong with them I strongly dislike. Like the space wolves being furries, salamander appearance, ravenguard appearance
I think ravenguard are probably the coolest
Blood Angels being vampires
aaight
im gonna replay kingmaker
then wrath of the righteous
then Im gonna finally install rogue trader
does anyone know if rogue trader is getting more future dlc btw
yes
also good choice
rogue trader doesnt make sense unless you play kingmaker and wrath first in that order
its a trilogy
good, Il wait for that
and its an owcat trilogy
I will restructure my mind to go into full owlcat mode
where you basically open the internet, and read everything about pathfinder builds before actually playing the game
for me its like
i dont like pathfinder because its a less fun version of 3.5 to me
so i never took their pathfinder games seriously mechanically
but i actually really like owlcat's RT to the tabletop
mostly because they both allow you to have equal amounts of wacky fun
while pathfinder for example prevents you from stacking expanded crit ranges, which as a 3.5er is the most CBT thing on the planet to me
yeah pathfinder can be kinda tight for a videogame
and the game adheres to it quite seriously
argenta in owlcat RT, meanwhile, can wipe out a whole room in a single turn
which is only slightly different than how tabletop RT is
FFG's games in general get absolutely unhinged in certain places
the most infamous example i know is the unkillable demon king that is the Deathwatch Techmarine
but its not hard to find Maximal Amounts Of Fun period regardless of which FFG you play
only Dark Heresy to my knowledge is tame
Do Necrons engage in diplomacy?
Have they ever engaged in communication with Imperium/Tau/Votann/Eldar?
By communication, I don't mean yelling, "You suck!" before turning them into goo. Like, actual communication for the sake of exchanging information and/or cooperation.
yes
some necrons are more reasonable but most of them are
vaporize non necrons on sight
Sometimes
Marine + any bionics instantly breaks the game
It gets more absurd in Black Crusade
Since you can combine nurgle + bionics + marine stats
And tank Las cannons lol
with Human? What was the interaction about?? What did they seek?
Surrender and we’ll enslave you and let you live
Also they’ve made temporary alliances before
Against stuff like nids
yeah that
what use would necrons have with a bunch of enslaved hobos?
It’s fun
You have to remember the Necrons are racist dicks lol
Dark Eldars have fun with slaves... but Necrons?
They think having a bunch of slaves building shit for them is fun
Like monuments
Imotekh has enslaved humans building statues of him
On a lot of worlds lol
No they are basically the classic pragmatic slave owners
they use slaves in the most efficient and brutal ways possible
which is making them do things
Human slaves for the crons pretty much are just them waiting subjects
To rule over lol
yeah to be fair cron slavery is like the least fucked slavery
which speaks a lot
Still... making statues and whatnots sounds like doing pointless stuff for shits and giggles. Compared to Necrons, human are basically a bunch of apes with sharp sticks and a religion.
Not useful in any practical sense
Would you rather be turned into a sentient flesh table or become a combat slave to be eaten later?
Trust me you would rather be stuck with them in forceful labor than whatever the hell dark eldar do
No no... I don't mean that. I mean, Dark Eldar enslaving and torturing do have a purpose, bribing slaanesh (with suffering).
the cron lords realized that half the fun in tyranny was their subjects suffering
necron nobles love glory and being venerated that's all there is to them
it just was way too boring when they were totally obedient robots
Even back when they were flesh
they were cruel
to their subjects
And to be fair their actual resources are their heightened technology
Yeah but some of the Necrons miss having subjects to lord over
not some meager fleshling that break the moment you punch it wrong
And be dicks to lol
Mfw I can’t throw glass bottles at my warriors anymore
Another question, when properly alive, were Emperor aware of the existence of Necrons, Tyranids, and Tau?
Afaik he did know about Orks and Eldars.
T'au wouldn't have existed during the time of the Emperor
Tau didn’t even exist yet, they hadn’t evolved yet
they ran into some nids during the great crusade
And he def knew about Necrons
I think The Silent King even met a Primarch
Is he a big liar? I don't actually know a whole lot about him besides the bullet points
Understood
are there plague marines that aren't from the death guard?
Yes, Corpulax is an example
Nurgle is the Chaos God of despair, decay, and disease. He was the third to awake of the four Gods of Chaos, fully coming into existence during Terra's Middle Ages, with plagues sweeping across continents in the wake of his birth.[1e] His titles include the Plague Father, Fly Lord, Great Corruptor, Plague Lord, Master of Pestilence, Lord of Deca...
9 (might be more) known groups
thanks I'll go check it out
Girl-team never gives up 😔
yeah they do, have you seen the state of feminism in 2025
Depend on the country
Kinda get drowns out with all the stuff going on tbh
fair enough
I think the biggest problem is political parties using women in their agenda a lot of those girls/women think that they fight for something good but mostly they are just tools
I'm just saying according to my experience in my country
And the sad thing is mostly it backfires and set them in even lesser position I do admire strong women that through their life have shown their straight. They didn't have to prove anything to anyone and that is inspiring.
You’re in a trench with your fellow soldiers of the Gilead Gravediggers, defending a planet you can’t recall the name of at the edge of the Rift from a heretic assault. But there were no heretics, it was something far worse.
Suddenly the cacophony of war surrounds you, shouted orders, gunfire, battle cries and screams of pain. You and your men fire everything you have towards the wave of gibbering, horrible things that appeared out of thin air. Hails of bullets and bolts strike them, They scream and laugh and moan but none fall, but still you fight, for it is your duty. Only in death does duty end.
Suddenly they are upon you, bloated, one eyed monsters with rotting flesh and clouds of flies around them. They cut into your men with rusted broken blades as they count each fallen soldier in relentless phlegm choked monotone.
Every soldier that falls dead gradually returns to their feet with pox covered faces and join the nightmares assaulting you. Worst of all they smile in a rictus grin, calling your name, shouting for you to join them, to succumb to Grandfather Nurgle. It’s too much for you to bear, you call the rest of your men and lead a desperate escape, you and your men flee as fast and as far as you can, seeking whatever refuge you can as deserters. But still, you have a duty to them. Only in death does duty end.
The shame eats at you, You didn’t want to flee the Guard, to disgrace The Emperor, but what choice did you have? It was either fight and end up like your fallen men, or a round in the back of your skull for cowardice.
Years later, in the bowels of a Hive City, a shadowy figure offers you and your ragged men more aquillas than you’ve ever seen for a simple job, to run security on some exchange, and kill anyone who interferes.
You could buy freedom for your men, passage to some corner of the system where they’ll be safe. Then maybe you could finally give yourself the Emperor's Peace with some measure of solace. You take the deal, for you still have a duty to them.
Only in death. Does Duty.
End.
And then whoever is interfacing with the augmetic suddenly regains consciousness and has to make a check to sift through which memories are theirs, and then a corruption check to see if they get a little nurgle corruption from the secondhand exposure
So lemme get this straight
I forgor 💀
Oh wait I rember
There is no max size an Ork can grow to?
It's said they can keep growing for as long as they live
But the highest peak that we know of they had achieved was when they were created being when they were krorks
Theoretically they can achieve higher than that
But it's one of those things that you don't really want to take for granted
Gw is not good at this type of thing
Imagine orks but smart and pretty sophisticated
And also efficient
We don't really know anything about krorks do we, besides possibly one excerpt from the Fabius book
yeah we know that basically they have advanced tech and are massive
i wonder if they devolved genetically naturally or if the elves made it happen
after the og war
it's a mixture of them not having anything worth it to fight and the eldar, systematically killing them
they want a good fight, the eldar just bomb them
with their super weapons
Eldar goofin, the big war was over, maybe the brain boyz but I think that's old lore
that's what they call old ones yeah
brain boyz
that's what the orks basically refer to their creators
They call them brain boyz iic
Iirc
Although afaik orks in fantasy were not created
By the old ones
And were already around
yeah they are spores introduced by the old ones by accident
it seems
Early 90s lore as I recall suggested that snotlings(?) were the degenerate descendants of brainboys.
Ah I remembered this page, doesn't really mention old ones
who are therds and why are they running
Yeah it's not really brought up anymore because it's really old
It's just basically generally accepted that the old ones made them in setting
Yeah the sources listed are ancient
Fire
Although it would be funny if they're just like
"Damn. This guy's a fucking pussy ass bitch"

They could be if they want
Whats a good reward for promotion as an enforcer that still feels grim dark?
like "Oh you have a class 3 hab instead of a class 2"
"You get the hablock room with the personal bathroom."
Better food packs, better pay, better Habs, special stuff as rewards...
predators
"You get a private, non-communal bathroom."

^
Congratulations! We have sent a celebratory gift basket to your hab unit
Out of curiosity is there any national influences in the space marine chapters?
Wdym like irl nations?
Not a ton
Like say does Iron Hands have any inspiration from Germany or Greece?
They’re usually more ancient cultures or much more broad generic
Cause their planet of origin was Medusa (I think?)
Iron Hands naming conventions aren’t from those
They’re like a mix of Jewish, Scottish and something else
For names iirc
Culturally def not
They’re nothing like the Greeks or Germans
The closest culturally to Greeks for modern marine chapters would be The Minotaurs
Unless you count more generic stuff
And that would be Ancient + some of mythological Greece for the Minotaurs
But they do stuff like Greek fresco paintings for the minotaurs
Idk I just thought German cause Iron Hands are known for engineering (actually that’s more Iron Warriors, Iron Hands are mainly bionics no?)
Veterans like to do it on their armor
Iron Hands are making stuff, guns and bionics yeah
They’re all 3 of those hats
Whereas IW is mainly war machines and pure engineering
Siege works yeah
There's broad, vague inspirations but it doesn't always get 1:1 specific
I mean white scars
Yes there are exceptions
Exotic Butters

yooo
God I hate Reddit
What happened?
Initially, the Custodes are reserved for greek culture inspiration.
But they have to make the Minotaur Mary Sue into that mix.
The Minotaurs existed with actual lore longer then the custodes
Lol
There’s also a few other chapters with greek inspirations
Like the uh
Spears of the emperor I think
It doesn’t really matter if multiple groups draw from the same source imo
After several week’s time (character name) was suddenly commended for several honor’s and promotions directly from the top brass, who credited him/her with the marked improvement of relations between the Enforcers and the Machine Cult. The perks included in his/her promotion allowed for a level of luxury that would otherwise be impossible. Such as a grade 3 hab room with its very own personal washroom! And a celebratory gift basket including one real cut of meat, and genuine butter!
I don’t know who this character is yet
They existed by name, which doesn't count much for me. Much like some chapter like Raptor, existed for a long long time as colour scheme, but their lore is rather recent.
Custodes didn't exist in their modern form until 2016
minotaurs existed in their modern form since 2010
With Badab
Minotaurs in their modern form are 6 years older then modern custodes

I don't mind about more than one chapter taking inspiration from the same culture.
Then idk what your issue is with minotaurs and custodes sharing a similar aesthetic for some stuff
if anything I'm annoyed GW is so uncreative with custodes
the whole each set of armor is customized isn't shown at all really in the minis
Yes, but wasn't their lore was much older, like from the 2000s?
I just don't like the minotaur chapter.
No
Modern custodes lore hasn't existed since 2016
Custodes essentially were just gold marines(but worse or better) up until we got the lore with the Burning of Prospero box
and Horus Heresy black book eight
Those 2 books along with the 8e custodes codex
are what make up the basis of modern custodes lore
GW threw everything out about custodes from the past except for the basic concept
and thats fine, but at least shit on them for the right reasons imo
The Custodes seem to draw a lot from the Persian Immortals. I might be looking too much into it
There's def some stuff from them there
Custodes are kind of a clusterfuck
(in a good way)
I just wish GW would get more creative with armor design for them. Its kind of silly how Marines have so many weird subpatterns and stuff but custodes are so standarized
give me an upgrade sprue for custodes thats just like a bunch of different helmets, arms, legs ect.
That'd be nice, there's two or three helmet types as is? I'd expect them to have bespoke armour to some extent
Theres a lot of like
Greek, Persian, etc
its mostly "this general area"
points to the Mediterranean civilisations
lol
Its really clear in their armor with the tall helmets, gutplates and other stuff too, even down to the naming conventions which do sometimes get a mix of greek/eastern
They have 4 helmet types
The standard one, the one the blade champ has, the sagitarius one and the jump pack one
the standard one has some variation to it
from characters/FW/general sculpting
I completely forgot about the jump pack one
Yeah there's a bit of everything thrown in, like the Emperor geeked out over a specific topic while making them
On a scale of 1-10 how accurate is this for the moderator experience Dilara
Depends on the day mos of the time.
the chat doesnt really have anyone that actively makes me miserable

-5, because many times she is the one stabbing you in your slumber.
Reasonable
Asked because I saw an unnamed interaction recently that made me lose a few minutes of my life expectancy
Anyway TW3 Katarin's random battle quotes go so hard
One time I was outnumbered 1-2 twenty stacks and she dropped something like "Kislev has known terror for centuries, this is only an inconvenience"
And she was right, I won
Bozo mods can't just block people L 4head
Its mostly good as long as I dont look into #darktide-driptide or any of the class chats.
Man, speaking of greek inspired, the Iron Snakes haven't been mentioned in over a decade officially from what I can see
||-someone who also perpetuates zealot chat's reputation||
Its generally just an echo-chamber, its a circlejerk of "hey microtransactions bad amirite guys" 24/7, it gets boring after the 4th day spam of it.
there are lots of people there that are unsatisfied with the drip in different ways, and it all kinda tumbles down from there
Oh yeah that sounds about right
I largely dont care because like
this playerbase has no idea how bad actual terrible microtransactions are lol
only thing ill accept is some drip is lacking, otherwise acting like the game shoves these down your throats when you got games like TF2 out there is crazy
Yeah DT's is comparatively pretty decent
Otherwise my modding existence is tolerable. The first two years were way worse, we had like nazis popping up in every channel, lore especially.
Relatively respectable prices for some things, rotates every two weeks, adds more relatively frequently
As the Warhammer fandom does
Glad this server is a space where it's mostly carved itself an existence away from all that
Yeah its mostly thanks to us lol
I had people thank me for "cleaning up" a bit which refills my motivation bar sometimes which is nice to see.
Sometimes someone says something that makes me raise an eyebrow that isn't directly reportable but anyone who actually does anything is taken care of
"I know what you are but I can't do anything about it yet"
Those users are the fucking worst. We had a few over the years, "hes an asshole but he isnt breaking rules yet"
It is very appreciated whether we say it or not
This is also an official server so we cant just ban people based on a gut feeling
It's funny, this discord has the record for fewest people I've just ignored. The moderation team has done a good job
but bring back eternal I miss the drama over nothing important
Id legit almost miss him if it wasnt for the fact of his eternal (badum tsss) cycle of:
I dont care about this. Its stupid and not worth my time.
Argues about it to people for 40m

Yeah it gave me something to read for 40-60 minutes when I was bored
Me when FIFA
So it goes, the yoke of rules something something
I'm in bed and a little lazy and phones suck, do we know of any Ashen Claws splinter groups besides the sharks
If the sharks even were that
Sharks are a separate predation fleet
Ashen claws were a predation fleet turned blackshields that killed anyone
Yeah Ashen Claws are just their own thing
Tbh
they are like the only "famous" example of a renegade marine chapter, unfortunately they barely got lore because marketing
The ironic thing is they could have probably gotten anyway
With rejoining the imperium
But they didn’t
So they just have their old ass mini empire lol
Kind of wanted to make a splinter but maybe it'll just be a separate predation fleet
Yeah make a seperate
remember the galaxy is big
you dont have to burden yourself by attaching to famous factions
Yea, I don't like stepping on established lore
Ye also it makes your shit more unique
To be fair
the predation-fleet thing is said to be a "tactic"/formation ruleset
one even rogue traders use
This is true
so its not chapter-specific
Yeah
Is that from Maledictum?
Yeah
Also there were a lot of black shields during the heresy lol
You could have your renegades be boomers
Or younger
I've never gotten my filthy hands on the rulebook 😔
Very nice pictures of hoglings
Maybe it's because I'm tired but the font almost made me think FFG
Nah
It’s very similar to FFGs
Maledictum very much feels like a love letter to the FFG systems imo
Hopefully these guys make as good lore as FFG, with better editing. Lets see
Kind of a bummer that Jericho Reach appears to have been swallowed up by the expanded rift
Jeroicho reach is in the hadex anomaly so it’s fine iirc
I was about to ask if the Fantasy Flight stuff has ever been mentioned in recent lore then I remembered the Rogue Trader game is literally a thing whoops 💀
Didn't the Hadex Anomaly dookie on the whole place?
They mention calaxis in maledictum lol
But it’s like
Barely anything
It’s mentioned as a hotbed of inqusition activity in the inqusition supplement
And that’s about it LOL
FFG cooked good with their stuff, the Idolitrex Magos could get wild
Its also important to remember like
before the FFG stuff came out the setting BARELY had proper supplemental stuff exploring the nitty-gritty shit of the setting
the things we take for the norm these days almost all got fleshed out in these RPGs lol

It gets real nitty gritty in those rpgs yeah. I love that stuff
Man, Only War could tell some great war stories. One of my favourite moments is the group playing veteran stormtroopers and encountering dead and dying guardsmen, instead of helping them all the players just start looting for lho-sticks and ammo while interrogating the semi-living for info
GM was for some reason baffled which I never understood
Someday I'll play Only War with my friends, but we gotta finish the 5e campaign first (bleh)
It's a good time
people with bad taste circlejerking their shit to creepy crap
not creepy scary, creepy i wouldnt wanan eb in a room with this guy
the model was pinned by reddits mods
Define creepy crap in this scenario, like what are they doing?
Gonna sound like an insane person but like
Y'know how TTS had essentially the JJ A Pillar Men as 3 custodes for no fucking reason
For some reason, it kinda made me wonder what Aztec inspired Custodes would look like
But then I realized that apparently for the Aztecs
Gold was literally excrement from the sun.
So that kinda killed that train of thought
...
They would look really cool though
Although now I'm gonna ask
Are there any south American inspired forces in the Imperium?
Crimson fists
Sorta
They have a lot of Latino names
But aesthetically they’re pretty plain imo
Pedro my beloved
wolf are Goliaths from necromunda around space marine strenght ?
Well non armored space marines armour kind of enhances their strength
They’re S4 yeah so they’re in that ballpark
yeah they are just not as stable as one
S4 is a big range
Just like all the tabletop stats
But yeah it ranges from sicarians at the low end, marines in the middle, and Necrons at the high end
As always gameplay abstraction and such since D6 system lul
i see
Also after reading their book the Juves are called Bullies
All the stats in 40k are a big range
Very fitting considering well compared to the other juves
Yeah
they are bigger
Understatement of the century
they also have things that can definitely out muscle a marine being stimmers
taking drugs to enhance their already absurd strength
and of course ones that can definitely run fades with an Ogryn, Zerkers
Tbf that’s not a juve lol
That one is definitely not a juve LOL
who knows
Nah
maybe this one decided to take too much steroids
really
Yes
Nah he’s a named dude
He’s a Goliath only merc
Some mercs in munda are house specific
oh that it
I thought you mean like special character
that has like a name and history
He does
it's because of like this
it says that they are goliaths that overdosed on stimms and growth formulas
The dude from the mini is a specific zerker
He’s from some supplement
You can use him to represent a generic one
oh that's why
But still though that's the head of a ambot
Ye
Imagine getting so physically buffed to the point that you can run fades with a drilling robot
You can see the sheet
and win
S6 lol
Oh yeah I've downloaded also more Lancer rule books
and i'm pretty sure you already heard me replace zhenge
For favorite Mech
But the other ones are also pretty cool like damn
dang
well that sucks
...
actually Aztec Aesthetic Space Marines sounds fucking sick
Obviously a fetish
although probably would piss off a few sensitive people
ppl throw aztec stuff on the rainbow warriors a lot
Do the thing everyone does with rainbow warriors
and make them aztec lol
yeah
yeah there ya go lol
true
it does fit them
Really?
Yeah
I mostlh see gay marines
Ah fair
I like the gay marines more lmao
By notramilopak*
Alright that ones a little too much LOL
Let’s check our favorite website
Very cool design
but could do without some of the gold
The force weapon is extremely cool though
Wiki.fandom.40khomebrew
I like the power macuahuitl
Pls no
that's a cool Macuahuitl
oh no
god
lol
pride parade marines
This one isn’t as bad
Why aztec shit tho
I think if we see them again in art in the future
they might have it
or they'll be plain
who knows
People just pick a random culture in the world and make a space marine out of it
nothing special really that's it
The rainbow warrior homebrew I’ve seen is like, prismatic shit and using lasers
And rainbow swords
At least it isn’t an utter flanderization like fandom mantis warriors
wait
One of these is not like the other
fucking evil ass helmet to paint
oh hey it's the marine you and i made fun of
why do the rainbow warriors represent an environmental ship sunk by the french
Homebrew wiki derogatory
lol
okay long story short Greenpeace did some weird shit
Rainbow warrior as a term origins from a christian evangelical wanting to convert native americans
Every day I want to gate keep warhammer more and more
and then like
These dnd YouTubers are awful
Go back to making d20 jokes
oh yeah Greenpeace co-opted it for a ship
and then the french blew it up
with a bomb
in Australia
wth
and killed like 3 people lol
also there's some roots in Hawaiian culture iirc
but thats unrelated to the Christian Evangelical dude
hey now if you Gate keep warhammer the chances of people falling in love with gloomspite get lessened
Probalby because the Aztecs saw rainbows as Quetzalcoatl. In general, they were considered manifestations of their own gods.
Also the general South American area fucking loves rainbows for some reason.
vtubers introduced to 40k by bricky are kinda annoying ngl
Rainbows are very fire
Also what was it
Aztecs thought Hummingbirds were extremely badass lol
because they're fast and aggresive
Every South American I know is viciously queer
bro knows multiple South America's
tbf being suddenly shot by a gigantic rainbow laser does sound cool.
what people associate with stuff culturally varies
To be fair I would blame space marine two more for introducing more outsiders if we're doing that
at the end of the day lol
Yeah but if I hear “did you know the orks can imagine anything?”
Again
I’ll snap
Apparently for the Aztecs, every Hummingbird was actually a reincarnation of a warrior.
see i'm fine with a more broad audience, it's just that specific little group that are weird to me
Yeah having iron jaw grit is a blessing for someone like mea blessing for someone like me
like it's a whole genre
So yeah for them, they basically were bloodthirsty
“Did you know the salamanders are the nicest space marines?”
HE'S LITERALLY ME!!!!!!!
I'm happy people genuinely get into warhammer after all I am a very nice guy and that but
misinformation literally runs so rampant in this community
“Did you know the grey knights return the soulstones to eldar”
I want to kill misinformation
ye
The the chances of someone entering the fandom and immediately learning something wrong

They did that literally once lol
ever
It's like 95%
Rainbows in general are associated with beauty and of course... god/gods.
anyways
ork imagination powers
krieg
dark angels are traitors
“Ork marines”
gman and what's her face
to be honest, they probably have helped the traitors unintentionally with the fallen shit
We need to drill into new peoples heads don’t make custom primarchs
To be fair you would probably murder a warhammer fan if it means you get another Lancer expansion
You should sign a deed with GW that you won’t do that
LMAO
I mean like it's a really genuinely annoying that REAL DKOK lore is literally hard to find because of how
Drowned in meme lore it is?
Saturatedly misinformation it is
when it comes to krieg i quite like uh
yeah like also orks
down amongst the dead men i think it is?
Deadmen walking is nice
ye
that's why i literally have an explanation ready to rifle out when someone say the ork psychic field don't help the weapons stay stable
nah
We're getting to that point aren't we loon queen
dude's training and a genestealer shows up on krieg in the middle of it
Even then it sometimes still doesn't work
Since even in their hands, Ork Tech still fucking explodes due to being a piece of shit.
Which is funny
oh ok nvm
i was wrong about whose perspective it was
they're failed recruits turned targets lol
He had been rejected by the Korps’ recruiting sergeants. He wouldn’t have been given a reason. It might have been a lack of aptitude. More likely, they had found a flaw in his genetic makeup. One of the kinds that manifested during adulthood, undetectable in the vitae womb. A damned mutation!
This, then, was how he served, as a target for the draftee soldiers who until today had been his peers. A final test for them before they were shipped off-world to their first assignments. A live-ammunition training exercise.
Stop staring at Emma frost and focus you budget fallen
but also people still defend the imperium?
with shit like this
bug bad
ok so
this dude kills the genestealer
and then the Krieg lads shoot him on sight
He didn’t raise his own weapon in return.
Was it simply that he lacked the strength to do so? Or did the young trooper sense the futility of such an action? Had he thought himself safe because the exercise was over? At what point did he realise that this news hadn’t reached the enemy?
That their orders to kill on sight had not yet been countermanded?
Five of the six Death Korpsmen held their fire. There was no sense in wasting ammunition, after all. The sixth – the one that, by unspoken agreement, had the best shot – squeezed his trigger. He aimed for the eyepieces of his victim’s mask.
A single las-beam through the brain.
What final thoughts passed through the young trooper’s mind as he died?
Did he rail against the injustice of his demise: to be gunned down by one of his own kind after protecting their descendants from infection, safeguarding their people’s future? Hadn’t he proved the recruiting sergeants wrong about him, after all? Did he perhaps bemoan the fact that they would never be told of his heroism?
Or was it sufficient that his god, the Emperor, knew?
Perhaps he accepted a fate for which he had been thoroughly prepared. He might have felt contented, even, with the high price for which he had sold his life.
In the final analysis, of course, it didn’t matter.
It didn’t matter in the slightest what the young trooper felt or thought.
It never had.
pretty good krieg story
so yeah the humans are good guys
very good yes
trust
I mean
Tbf for a regular person killing a Genestealer is a high price to sell your life
so
eh
could be worse

Jokes aside, it definitely shows why I like Krieg so much. They are cold.
They aren't even the most efficient. After all, there are many words the Imperium can be described as. Efficient isn't one of them.
They are the best encapsulation of the Imperium. Their soldiers are literally vat born and constantly churned out like machines.
They're still human, but they aren't treated as human.
A cult of sacrifice inside a cult of sacrifice.
Murder on automatic, for a reason that they probably don't even fully know the context of.
Perfect.
context
so i got the notification while i was waiting for my flight
the discord's mod team took the decision to allow AI art and that was basically the announcement
i see AI art and immediately react with a 👎
oh no
i go away
do shit
i look back
and the server was exploding during this
but democracy won the day
massive fucking W for that community
all i can say is
the abominable intelligence has been eliminated
Praise the Omnissiah.
it was beautiful
everybody was shitting on AI in the channels
a bunch of the mods had threatened to resign over allowing AI too lol
the guy who took the decision in the first place was some moron anyways. he thought that it was too hard to tell what's AI and therefore no rule should be made against it
like brother just ban the obvious AI slop and let the art community report to you the hard to spot stuff it really isn't complicated
i have said it before and i will say it again
i will commission artists until the day i die
i do find it funny that i'm the first person to thumbs down the message
i thought it was a small server and i would get banned for it or smth
Auspex is a pretty big youtuber
even if his info on comp is like mostly sloptier for most factions
Ai art just lacks the human touch. The intent. To think of what you draw is one thing. But to put into action by hand is what lays the foundation
Sure it’s gonna not look great, depending on how high a standard one sets themselves, but as long as your consistent. It’ll have more depth than any prompt some tech geek types up.
last purchase of my life will be a comm, prob smth gay
i'll put that in my will
Art needs a mind behind it.
Effort.
Action.
and creativity.
Although I do wonder something
If an AI actually becomes like fully Sapient, and instead of doing something like idk... leading humanity or destroying the world or whatever
It decides to paint because why the fuck not?
