Tau would be difficult to portray ina tide game, as they tend to be more set on ranged, but Orks do, as for Imperium as the tide, it's somewhat difficult to make work

Nurgle corruption doesn't necessarily rely on zombies or Cultists, it can be a virus.
Presumably, for whatever reason, the Tyranids have developed immunity. But they are still carriers.
Inquisition probably went "Uh oh" when they realised every single regiment sent to fight the Tyranids end up defecting to Nurgle (probably then promptly being eaten in turn)
Hence GK tasked with fighting Tyranids.
Oh don't get me wrong, Nurgle can do that if it wants, but having a superspreader viral carrier is just as useful for Nurgle.
Think it was on Necromunda that a defunct GS cult ended up turning to Chaos worship instead.
Only possible due to lack of contact with Hive Mind
