Iām not against villains being redeemed or showing their downfall
I dont mind all this good guy stuff eventually, but at least give me villain venom first, thats what Im here for
I dont need all this lethal crusader shit
to be fair
But I havenāt even seen the movie and they like
bretonnia can do that
kidnap villain
make him be a good guy
Kraven has always been a cunt
When heās in a gay relationship
Kraven is more mentally insane than many other villain in Spiderman.
also, believe it or not, I cant tell if Kraven in this movie was pro animal or anti animal
He would
clones himself
abuses his child clones
one of them kills the rest
good job son
kills son
if it was the actual character
they subverted it
yes
hes mostly a big game hunter
that chooses to hunt the most dangerous prey
M A N
šØ
also ...Rhino...
Didnāt know kraven was a dentist /j/j/j
like why
i love venom but my god his main universe version can now just rot for me
THEY MADE HIM STRAIGHT?!?!?
yeesh
uhh yeah
"Dangerous" include normally chill animals that only want to be left alone.
Wait venom is gay?
yeah for sure
When was this a thing
And the fucker wants to hunt them down.
mary jane's the host now
all of his bonding partners are men
Venom is a "it". Not a real he or she.
Until well Mary Jane
for like a decade
Eddie and the symbiote are basically boyfriends
or house husbands
lmao
There is like an extreme amount of homosexuality in the character at this point I cannot even deny it
its also
hmmm
Hey equality right sexy woman sexy men
Wot? Is it exclusive to venom?
I never knew
so what yall are saying is
hes a turd in the wind
the venomshaker
They made the April fools emote just for him
weakling
If only he had more cheek š
real
Hey blame the community
the dumbass chinese devs always cake up the women
i do
men got nothing
I don't know why they looked at venom and said would but they did

they just embracing the ancient meme
This is making me question things I thought venom was just a "bro like charecter"
Bruh what rock have you been living under
the comics of venom in the last 10 years have been making jokes about this constantly lmao
Iv only seen the movies
to not know about this
that makes sense
Because if they gave the emote to a different character, people would be upset
Wild to think there are people who's only exposure to Venom are the fucking Venom movies
Even though they already sexualize the fuck out of every female character
when the coom flows, cash will follow
I can't stand how people feel the need to sexualise everything these days it honestly makes me extremely uncomfortable
i love the venom movies
I feel like tom hardy was the only one who acted like this is supposed to be a comedy
They were good movies tbh hey
and everyone else was acting like its the end of the world
its not that far with venom
LMAO
like-
the symbiote is very possessive of Eddie
it also uses very passionate language, and he does the same to it
"Yeddie"
theres a lot of baggage to unpack with them ironically lol
Well shit I must be slow as heck
yeah it's gayer than two guys kissing on top of a rainbow
Its essentially like a second "life-partner" to him
Do not the venom
Youāre definitely getting some sort of venereal disease
they ruined my boy carnage
even with the lovely woody harrelson
no carnage is fun
Hes not Carnage, hes MAYHEM
Carnage needs that satisfying death he gets in the comics, where sentry grabs him, goes to space and tears him apart
That episode of curb your enthusiasm w woody was good
Woody is good in everything
woody is good.
im sure he gives the best wood to all the nice people
also did yall know its an actual fact that his father was a paid hitman
like apparently thats why he got cast in natural born killers, because oliver stone could look at woody and tell " yeah you're telling the truth, your dad was definitely an assassin"
He's a bit of a nut in real life iv heard
nah
hes great
he just smokes a lotta weed
hes been a public defender of cannabis for a while
We should take him to alcatraz
That movie was great
i forgot he was even in it
The guy who plays the psycho in that was incredible
With the thing for killing cattle
No Country is a fucking goated movie of all time!!!!!!
its a gogoat
Christopher Walken, Colin farell sam Rockwell a few more I can't quite remeber
fulgrims model I like
not the bigggggesst fan of the wings
but still pretty good tbh
Apparently he can kill 23 intercessors in a turn
oh..
Yea
thats brutal
and impossible to picture
i never quite could visualize how slaanesh sneks move that fast
much less fulgrim
at least keepers of secrets look like they can really zoom
im only gonna buy aos models now tbh, the quality is great
mainly deepkin or ossiarch
i really like gargants, but I feel like the poses on the gargant models arent great
I havnt bought anything from gw in years
I'll go look in the shop every now and then but
It's just to costly
its costly for sure
i havent been buying anything yet either
Ive been saving up for games mostly
for games? I tend to not buy anything on launch tbh
I have a weird thing about playing games when they arent getting any more updates ( provided its singleplayer) and when they have all dlc for them done, thats why I still havent played rogue trader, I will eventually, I just want all the updates done
even though I know its fully enjoyable rn
everyone has
I'm bad at it though and those type of games
Oh these are dnd games right?
not the best for sure , but up there as some of the best rpg games
No
ah yes
They're Pathfinder games
pathfinder is 5e
Rogue trader is easier to get into than pathfinder
yeah pathfinder is kinda insane
because of how committed it is to the ruleset for a videogame
Pathfinder is easy to get really lost into character builds
The theme of wrath of the righteous makes me nut
Well probably not for me I only like rt cause it's warhamer lore
I need to finish that game
Pathfinder is basically 3.5e D&D but with the enhanced Autism DLC
probably total war wh
Yeah I got into the total war games
...and finish kingmaker
same
Also wasnt very good at these lol
I refuse, Pathfinder sucks
I grew up playing like cod battlefield counterstrike
I got screwed over because the first truly great 'modern' rpg I played was dos 2, and all the really good ones after that could never dethrone for it me personally
till bg3
Bg3 was fantastic
its the same studio that did dos 2
so im not surprised
dos 3 WHEN LARIAN
WHENNNN
Never
GIVE IT TO ME NOW, IM RABID
Is the patch out yet for bg3 with all the subclasses n shit
Way different combat system tho it was like a poe game
I wanna try out bladesinger wizard and abuse the diadem
and as far as we know it's still atleast another month away
Rip
No confirmed release date on it and from what I heard from playtesters on the Beta it's still got tons of bugs to sort out before they even think about a full release
I need to try something that isnt paladin/warlock or some mix build on my mc
Smitesmitesmitesmitesmite
But i love magic swordguy trope
You say this like itās a bad thing
Arcane trickster is going to be viable now bcs it gets booming blade lol
It's the bad kind
No pathfinder is good smh
It's awful
Subjective taste moment
Pathfinder 2e is worse then 1e because it streamlined in the wrong way imo
They should have made it more distinct
They should have discontinued it
Pathfinder is like the worst system I know
If you say dnd 5e is the best system you know Iām throwing you in a river smh
It's not, but it's so much better
I think you should treat them more distinctly personally
Iām ngl
Because pathfinder and dnd 5e are trying to do 2 dif things
I know they're trying to do different things, Pathfinder just does it badly
I disagree
3.5 had it's own set of problems, Pathfinder basically just decided to give those problems steroids and treat them as a feature
Yeah and itās interesting
It really isn't
I wish Pathfinder didn't just make poor planning of builds completely fucked for mid to late game content
Cool, you're the only one comparing it to 5e
Yeah itās not great lol
But preplanning is neat
Like I love the idea of Pathfinder and I'd love to play a campaign some day in that system BUT that bit takes me out tbh
Idk, I wish 5e had more crunch to it.
Sometimes when running it for groups lol
PF has too much crunch arguably
I think what it does is interesting though and the action economy system is neat
5e is relatively light on crunch yeah, but that also makes it easier to get into which is why it's so popular
Pathfinder for me just completely ruins the fun of all Roleplaying, like it doesn't matter what you think is cool or fun, you've built your character incorrectly and are now completely useless
Yeaaaah
We have STC train stations now
I know there's a FF themed homebrew based in Pathfinder that might be a lil bit more balanced but didn't play much of it
PF2E also gets around this
By railroading you more with your build
So you donāt brick yourself lol
Itās not bad, but Iāve only done a one shot with it
Itās prolly an unbalanced mess eventually
I really wanted to play more of it
Yeah maybe
Still wanted to play more of my bone breaker dragon woman person
If we're doing the 5e vs Pathfinder comparison, you can glance at 5e, pick something you find fun and play 100 sessions with it and have the time of your life. Pathfinder you can spend 2 hours theorycrafting builds, pick something you think works and then find out in the first session it doesn't work and you need to rebuild. It's just not something I want as part of my RP games.
Like I've tried it before and it was a miserable experience for both the DM and players, I've tried the Owlcat Pathfinder games and I just cannot get over the Pathfinder mechanics.
So you just dislike the mechanics of it, which is fine. I wouldnāt call it a bad game though personally
She does make a valid argument though of why it's not the best system
Yeah
I donāt think itās the best system at all
I donāt think thereās any ābestā ttrpg system personally
Yea Best system is subjective
Since subjective taste ultimately rules what you and your group enjoy gameplay and system wise
But yeah I have a list of grievances with PF1e thatās prolly a mile long lol
Best system for her idea of TTRPG games* I should've said instead my bad
But I still enjoy it
Ah
But my opinion of Pathfinder can only be described as outright hatred, it has zero redeeming qualities and is a blight on the ttrpg community
Oh also ngl DND4e isnāt even bad
Iām kind of sad it basically got taken out back and executed lol
Yea the reaction to it was overblown
I know im scrolled back 2 days but they removed them for bloat reasons and added a rule that you can play any half race and to just pick one of the halves' trait package, so now you can play half dwarves or half races that don't have human parents and stuff
Oh hey ttrpg stuff rolled back around lol
Wotc managed to only learn the wrong lessons from 4e
Idk my personal favorite system is either Lancer or like Delta green tbh
The funny thing is so many great DM's will take the rules from 4e and put them into 5e and the players will go "Wow, that mechanic you came up with is great" and then the same players will then talk about 4e ruining D&D
I do actually like 5e though
Ask if someone complaining about 4e played 4e
They didnāt
the cycle continues
4e is a great tactical miniatures game that's not got a lot of codified noncombat stuff so its an excellent choice to sew onto another system
PF2E is funny in that it feels like a weird clusterfuck between 3e, 4e and 5e
I think they should have leaned into the 4e and 5e stuff personally
Make it more distinct from 1e, but it does play more like 4e and 5e then 3.5e imo
The 4e setting is almost comical in its nonexistence
Its like a big valley with no named neighbors
I wish exalted was good to play the setting seems awesome
That's more 3.5spawn though
Exalted is def a child of 3.5
Lvl 1 monk dip for crane style ac bonus
I think Lancer will prolly stay as my favorite TTRPG like
Until I die lol
Or something changes heavily
I'm gonna be honest the ability to make your own mech and allow them to box god is a very good thing
How is Starfinder btw?
But Iām not sure if thatās because itās actually a wargame wearing the skin suit of a ttrpg
Starfinder is good if you like pathfinder lol
Lancer looks great, i love the art by the K6BD guy
I have done horrible things to pf1e
If you donāt like pathfinder wait for starfinder 2e
Gotcha
Imo if you dislike pathfinder 1e
Iād at least give a look at PF2E
Itās very different as a system but it could have been so much more imo
In wrath of the righteous my seelah had 86 ac and did 600 damage a turn
Lancer to me doesn't seem that appealing? It doesn't seem to have a ton of RPable moments and it's based on the mission by mission
She had levels in 6 classes
Youāre supposed to stick RP between missions
my other system i like is soul bound
Gotcha gotcha
The structure for Lancer is different but you get as much RP as other systems(imo)
It's too basic but that's the thing I like I don't want things too complicated for my stupid lizard brain
Mission(Encounter, Encounter, RP, Encounter, RP) mission complete
Shove in more encounter or RP per mission
And then you run RP heavy stuff
yeah i'm not gonna lie it seems that you either play or pick one thing
Before you go back to mission
Nah, repairs and rests are good for RP
You can also have RP post encounter
Also having RP sessions to interact with things is also necessary imo
to be fair it's not a RPG without an RP you know
playing a tabletop RPG like competitive rank is certainly a choice
lol
You basically run rp segments whenever you have to leave your mech
yeah
Be it rest type stuff or going into a facility or something
there's also the stress/bond system that Karrakin trade baronies added
which can let you integrate even more RP into combat lol
To be fair how different is pilot combat compared to mech combat
i see
You need a mech system to tell mech stories and you can't really rp much outside the party while you're meching
imo the core rulebook for Lancer has some issues with giving GMs direction on how to actually run the damn system imo
(You can tell the same stories with tanks and stuff but the same applies)
the supplemental stuff like Karrakin is much better for that
which feels weird to say
yeah the only people you can RP with are enemies really when you're stomping around in your mech lol
I need to play the battletech strategy game again with the tabletop content mod
actually
now that I think about it
thats a lot of issues with modern TTRPGs
they don't give enough to GMs lol
One of my groups is pilot testing the dm's new system tonight im looking forward to it
5e gives gms nothing
Not in the dmg or any other rulebook
and then says do what you want
And the adventures are terrible examples too lol
I wonder if DND 5e started this trend
in modern TTRPGs lol
hey some of 5e's adventures are good
Descent to Avernus is good
and uhhhhh
Storm Kings Thunder
also curse of strahd
Tbh that doesn't make it bad imo
being a railroad with one fork LOL
Strahd is decent i think, rime is actually good
I mean it says if you don't play along exactly in the baldurs gate section the flaming fist sends 8 cr3 guards to arrest you lol
For level 1 and 2
this is why I redid that part
sorry what
After you descend into avernus the only effective choice in the module as written is the first landmark you travel to
yeah
You can make it work it just takes a lot to add player agency
Also why do your characters not start in and escape elturel so they care about the place lol
I wrote a whole extra segment in elturel for my start yeah lol
actually I def didn't run Descent as intended
I fucking redid the starting portion lol
I ran Descent by rewritting 95% of Descent
that sounds about right
I think the portions in Hell didn't need too much work
at least from what I remember
I had some red herring stuff then eventually they left town and found an abandoned cult hideout with letters and stuff
They're walking back and the descent is happening lol
I kept a lot of hells locations but i rewrote the content and the travel
covid really fucked with my perception of time
So yeah lol about 85% probably
I should have just written a new campaign it probably would have been easier
It's really funny if you wrote that yourself because there's an Adventure League module that's about a group of people escaping from Elturel and fleeing to Baldurs Gate and it does basically the same thing
Lmao
I know it used to be
I did a bunch of connection building, location introducing, and foreshadowing in mine
I remember when I ran it, I adapted the AL module to act as the new starting point for Descent
So then when they arrived at Baldurs Gate where the book actually starts they were lvl 3 instead of lvl1 which like they still almost died to some of those early encounters
Rime of the frostmaiden needed minimal work i think that ones pretty decent
I haven't read anything newer than the circus one
I think the last ones I've read are Rime and the Critical Role one
Netherdeep
I think it was called
dragon heist is good apparently
I bet mercer writes a decent module though i don't like his rules writing
Dragon heist is pretty good and there's an overhaul online that makes it really good
The alexandrian did it
Yea his rules are either absurdly powerful or ridiculously weak and there is no inbetween
I played a dex-maxxed witcher blood hunter and it was the best early game class by a mile
Any other way to play the class is not good
Like I think it's his Blood magic Wizard rules where it's abilities are just weaker than any of the regular wizard subclasses, then it just gets random debuffs to on top of it for basically no reason to make it even weaker.
gunslinger
š
I'm ngl he should have just stolen taken inspiration from Pathfinder gunslinger
Dex blood hunter loses out to great weapon battle cleric at level 4 specifically
That's an evil build i pulled once
rather then whatever the fuck it was that he made
Like great, I'm weaker than just a standard evocation wizard and I deal damage to myself to use my abilities that are worse than the standard evocation abilities
yeah
Then you get the Echo Knight fighter which is just insanely good
All these rules are like 3x longer than they need to be lol
Echo knight is my favorite fighter ill give you that
Yea it was added in one of the Critical Role setting rulebooks
The Wildemount explorses book
and they should give battlemaster even more to work with
His gravity and time mages are total nothing too lol
Fighter could use more interactive tools yeah
I wish 5e took what it learned about martials from 4e
lol
like ????
ITS RIGHT THERE
There's already barb for the players that don't want to think in combat
WOTC had a chance to add that shit in with DND 5.5e? 2024? whatever the fuck its called
5.1 i think
I do like the new weapon system
that is cool
I don't like the new background system as much but I can just always steal Tasha's system
DND 5.1e is wonky
feels like they wanted their cake and to eat it too
I really haven't looked at it, none of my groups are playing 5e and im too busy to dm
my group wants to run it partially for their next 5e thing
They broke all the legacy character sheets and custom entries which has majorly annoyed some of the players in a group on long term hiatus lol
weird name
I'm ngl I like One D&D more then DND 5e 2024
So they just kept 5e and say "It's 2024 rules"
what 's the space dnd where you can be a slime
same with Perkins
called again
Spelljammer
got ya
oh also wtf did they do to Banneret lol
Ruined it
why the fuck does it have an actual purple dragon baby
like ????
where tf did that come from lol
Like just straight up removed the entire point
They deadass saw it was called "Purple Dragon Knight" and thought "Oh hey lets give it a purple dragon"
Banneret is like one of my favourite archetyes and I was so excited to see if 2024 would fix it vs the SCAG rules, but god they just removed it's soul
Removed the entire point of the subclass and then gave them a dragon for some reason
Man I kinda wish we had the old mystic in 5e
The one that was stupidly broken early game then fell off hard late
its a tragedy what happened to it
is that a fucking hamster
yeah its a giant space hamster
also their meat is considered a delicacy
I was far away from my screen and at first I thought it was a real hamster edited in there like that
they're the consequence of a legacy joke about a normal sized hamster being a dwarf giant space hamster
which it canonically is
Apparently this is what Boo is from baldurs gate
that guy started showing up again yeah
minsk and boo
its pretty funny how much d&d lore is just old campaigns
also just
"my little brother didnt know what to name his male elf and now Melf is in the rulebooks"
Ed Greenwood
Ed's
certianly a guy lol
he's kinda weird in a harmless way but he made the forgotten realms
"elminster has a narnia type portal to the back of my fridge he uses to steal beer"
(real)
still canonā¢ļø
thank god Ed does not have the power to canonize anything he posts on twitter
LOL
He has to post it on an actual website rather then just putting whatever's on his mind on twitter
Someone post the tweet about tiefling breastmilk tasting of cinnamon and elf's tasting like berries
welp that's something
Yea and it was from like one of the Forgotten realms writers
I suppose that Dwarf's taste like mead or beer ?
Meaty, gamey
That'd be Ork no ?
nah orcs taste like protein shakes
He's got a few milk incidents
Let me compile them lol
@outer wave for your viewing pleasure and or displeasure
Ed Greenwood is truly an interesting man
šø
well that is
huh
i can't even say anything
Hmm, I'd go for the chicken flavour
thank goodness with my Ironjaw level thinking i can resist most of it but like as you can see
the fundamentals for DND's main setting
what the hell do i even say man
and still writes for WOTC
idk Ed Greenwood is a weird but really good writer?
he's like a little weird about a lot of stuff
but not in like a concerning way imo
i guess it's a gimmick
after all a weird gimmick really makes people love you
If I know one thing about internet
I guess I wasn't familiar with his game
Yes, like every race's milk flavor
"Guys you dont understand its necessary for the lore"
I love how one of his "abridged" lore documents he gave to a writer
was fucking 84 pages long
like ????????
jesus fucking christ how long is the full version
Bro's passionate
anyways uh he's not a bad person and I feel much better about supporting him then like
fucking Gary Gygax lol
I mean if you answer someone's question about breast milk in your setting then you need to be kind of a bit of a Saint really
You need like a lot of patience for people like that
like yeah Gygax was important and set a lot of groundwork but he also was uh
not a great person imo
Gygax, the villainous entity from earthbound ?
ed greenwood is unironically a talentless hack, his milklore is just scratching the surface
it's all canon per the contracts IIRC
unfortunately said contracts did screw him ove,r which is objectively fucked
only if he publishes on candlekeep iirc
but still, FR being made the Primary Setting has been disastrous for DND
I wouldn't call him talentless ngl
he does write actually interesting lore imo
Forgotten realms aren't that bad
they're basic but whatever, its cohesive imo
even if its not my favorite DND setting
FR is terrible, im sorry to say
the naming schemas are all schizophrenic, basically any semblance of human culturebuilding is nonexistant
good taste
secondary, i do like Greyhawk, but it is still Gygaxian as you said
so that detracts from it
Birthright is awesome
my favorite is prolly between Eberron or planescape
lol
I don't actually dislike the FR
because its a very blank slatey setting that you can make a lot of stuff work in
i do but my dislike is more heightened by just how often im forced to play in it
Its a true kitchen sink
otherwise itd be more like a whatever thing like all the other mediocre settings
Its got literally everything
there are many eyeroll cases like how practically every non-white culture is just "lol they were teleported from earth"
but its not the WORST setting ever conceived, just again
im especially critical because im forced to engage w/ it
okay well yeah thats just a case of you're forced to get drowned in it
lol
I don't blame you for the dislike of it then
A lot of the nonwhite human areas are basically all old old lore
I ignore these things because they honestly fucking suck lol
Which Greenwood also hated
lol
Chult is good after it got rewritten
it's not just Kara-Tur, its stuff like mulhorand too
human lore is just overwhelmingly lazy in FR altogether
I have a paladin of ubtao doing that module rn
now, that being said
the more genuinely interesting FR stuff is found with the elf lore
He was a druid-barbarian until recently though
i dont know how much of it is genuinely original or just compiled from older settings' lore, but its actually good and workable
There's so many fucking elves in FR
its kind of insane
I don't even dislike elves but hoooooooooly shit there's a lot of elf lore
Hey it could be elder scrolls
thats just elves all the way down
Where if you're not human you're an elf lol
I do wonder what would happen
Orcs is elves
Im gonna be real
tbh? they shouldve, there's not really much in the Magical Realm department there
I always forget theres official dnd lore or settings
Greyhawk is where dragonlance is right
no Greyhawk is its own thing
I enjoyed reading those as a kid
Dragonlance is the mormon one
I've always seen it as just vague guidelines to homebrew your own shit
Na Greyhawk and Dragonlance are two different settings I think
official settings are necessary when you have larger RP communities
I saw kender on d&d beyond today but i don't remember what book they were listed from
Dragonlance is the one where both Pure Good and Pure Evil are bad and that there needs to be a balance
yeah Dragonlance and Greyhawk are dif
i.e. only kill half of the orphans
lol
Kender are from dragon lance yeah
kender also have been uh
rewritten to not be
you know
what they used to be
Are they not now just like Halflings with a different name
I personally just like seeing people's own creations vs the larger stuff
I read those books when i was like 10 i barely remember the plot much less any allegories or whatever
But I can see the appeal of a larger continuous setting
in FR its just hilarious how the elf lore is this wholly continuous grand story with consistent worldbuilding and philosophies
nah they're still kleptomaniac halflings, just less so
They also have a weird like
fucking hammerspace where they can pull random shit out of
and then there's the occasional throwaway line like "And then the Human Loop Zopp Gawoop from Waterdeep did this quest for them."
like its such a juxtaposition
The nice thing about forgotten realms from the Wizards side is they can write any kind of adventure in the one setting and have a fitting place for it
proficiency bonus + 1 per short rest
also uh, whatever gets pulled out isn't real and vanishes after 1 hour
so you can scam people with it
because of course you can
i would say, if we were to decanonize Ed Greenwood's Magical Realm
FR is still better than Pathfinder's setting
i keep wanting to call it Glorantha but i think thats Runequest and i dont want to insult RQ
Golarion
also PF's setting
is a kitchen sink
in the worst way possible
lol
its soooooooo bad
yeah Golarion is just hot garbage
you wanna talk about lazy schizobuilding, it makes FR look like LOTR
"yeah Sci-Fi CrashLnadia is right next to this Medieval Feudal Kingdom and they have been for 8 billion years"
hey wolf what's the tallest race you can play in dnd, every expansion included don't leave a single one
not wolf, but depends on the edition
5th has much more quality control than 3rd so Goliath i think
yeah that
3rd is wacky so i bet theres even like playable giants in the right book
literally the only 2 things I really like in Golarion are like
Cheliax and Absalom
and some of the other stuff surrounding it
I think so too unless they added stick aliens in spelljammer or something
that stuff isn't weird jumping schizobuilding lore
good enough
and is somewhat comprehendable
goliath is sorta like what most people ACTUALLY want to play when they say "i wanna play orcs"
big honorbound barbarian warrior
Loxodon or centaurs might be taller im not looking at 5etools rn
I mean, the teifling thing is kinda hot but bruh I didn't need to know this from a DnD dev guy
Oh yeah Loxodons are huge
Ty for both parts of that input
i do like Ravnica quite a lot as a setting, i actually do think the premise is a more refined version of Sigil
so my ideal setting would be Planescape but with Ravnica instead of Sigil as the center
do you like Ravnica more because of how like, more city like it is?
or
only the context of the other day
i think the city structure/government is more believable in ravnica
I c
with sigil they tried to make the government split up between these wacky philosophies which sometimes was just jarring and silly
i think the guild system is just way better
both from a worldbuilding perspective and an RP one
also i dont really like the Lady of Pain, i think shes too much of a contrivance/blatant DM tool
id have preferred something a bit more elegant, Ravnica's answer of "why no civil wars"tend to be a bit more elegant in that way
Lady of pain is literally just the DM smiting you the character
Well ācharacterā
yeah exactly
Also are you a great wheel, world axis or tree enjoyer
i was brought up on the Great Wheel, i'll die on the Great Wheel
plus Great Wheel has the Outland which is awesome
I agree on wheel
also a wheel fan
i think the tree came first but in general i dont care for the Interloper stuff
it's the canon again in 5e
so like on FR i dont like that the main law god is Tyr, or that the Mulhorandi pantheon is JUST the Egyptian deities
thats not unique to FR though
i think they're mostly Gygaxian holdovers from when DND was just drunk dudes in basements spitting out the first deity name that came to mind
Great wheel is just
"uhhh THOR, yeah thors awesome"
Simple and nice
yeah that's some classic "early player wanted to worship tyr so tyr is in the setting lol"
the funny thing about tyr is we basically know nothing about Tyr worship historically
except that he was not considered a resolver of disputes
But yeah itās weird tyr is a thing
in conventional conceptions of the alignment
Tyr's main attestation is tricking fenrir into being bound by gleipnir at the cost of a hand
My players love it but they also donāt hate 4e
also Planescape unfortunately emphasizes the greeks in CG, but you can alternatively emphasize Arvandor and the Elves instead at least
Ysgard is still fucked though
I do wonder how many of the people who say āI hate 4eā
Actually hate 4e and have played it
the weird thing about how little we know of tyr is that tyr worship was extremely widespread, probably moreso than thor worship for example
but we know basically nothing
Or at least read the rules
i mean to my knowledge it NEVER really took off period
so its not like people were forced to play it at conventions
you could still just play 3rd
It may be a case of like, itās so common no one needs to write it down
Lol
Elzunix
She is like me fr
Except attractive
And a woman
And white
And living in 40k

i dont think we know much at all about any specific rituals considering the source material, but Tyr as one of the Aesir is highly unlikely to have been treated too terribly different than the other more-preserved deities
aka still a horrible person by any modern standard
Well yeah
i mean theres a bunch of thor stories in the eddas at least (which admittedly is more or less the limit of our knowledge lol)
thor and odin
we find tons of tyr idols and runic dedications and stuff archeologically
the main thing is that like
when zeus does something horrible its because the greeks are trying to prescribe fallibility to their deities, or otherwise are trying to tell a story with a moral
as far as we (or at least i when i started looking into this stuff) know, the vikings genuinely saw nothing wrong with prescribing horrible things to, say, odin
that it was simply ordinary or even awesome to them
Odin's primary character trait as i understand it is his desperation to avoid his inevitable death
abetted by how the vikings treat other humans in the sagas
and that sorta adds to the point
that when odin and thor reminisce about doing something horrible together, the story essentially treats it like a footnote
utterly irrelevant
akin to "remember the time we went to the bar lol"
im so excited for leman russ to return and have his role in his ragarok allegory be VĆưarr
show up and tear angron in half with a cool boot he found in the warp
man i sure cannot wait for the Emperor to give up his eye to see into the future and ride on his eight-legged horse
just as the Space Wolves predicted!
Lol

i did not expect this video to exist
Drukhari being libertarian is accurate lol
i'd argue ork hordes are authoritarian by nature
but i guess its kinda weird to categorize since its a bunch of anarchists being controlled by an absolute leader
How the fuck is gsc auth left
Oh itās nids
Bruh I wish warhammer was unpopular again all these content creators making Warhammer content because of space marine 2 suck
jregs not like the others
there's actual odds that jreg has never even seen a space marine
Sooner then I expected ngl
What class Are you excited for me personally i'm excited for the giant barbarian
Elemental attacks and being bigger than anyone else
Sounds of the dream
Bladesinger, circle of stars, toll the dead death domain
2 days before bdayš„³
What i'm also excited for drunk monk
Drink alcohol
Absolutely deck a motherfucker
Death domain exists entirely to fulfill clerics lack of good direct damage spells
With toll the dead lol
Also switch Viconia to death domain
also shart has a good lore friendly option for a subclass that isnāt awful
With death domain
Played drunken master, was very fun
I think oath of the crown was a mistake choice wise
Itās very inline with oath of devotion
And very goody two shoes
Thereās literally (formerly) oath of conquest Paladin with the oath breaker
They should have picked oath of conquest even if it is like, objectively a pretty evil subclass or oath of redemption because itās a far more interesting one RP wise
Retribution isnāt evil but it allows for a more varied and or aggressive role play or how you approach a situation.
Crown, devotion and ancients are all very much
Kind good person the archetype, always fights fair, donāt lie, Ect.
Or in the case of crown literally enforcing a rulers will or the law often
If they wanted that they should have picked oath of redemption, not crown, crown imo is literally one of the most boring fucking oaths in existence
The greatest sin, maybe Larien can make it not awful to play lol
Anyways conquest or redemption would have been way more fun imo
Conquest because mass murder warcrime damage Paladin
And redemption because charisma/cc/protecting Allies proactively is way more fun imo
Then again I suppose they donāt want rebuke violence because the ability to turn any ambush into an absolute slaughter in your favor lol
Is there a lore reason why so many haircuts have an undercut in the game?
Not a shitpost question, actually curious
You are not tired of the 50th guys "explaining" the same subject without digging any deeper? Here another one. /s.
The answer is no.
My best bet is the military culture of the imperium but other than that basically nothing
But even that reasoning has enough holes in it that it looks like a cheese grater
"do the imperium cannibalism?"
The 40K youtube space is so saturated.
Halo used to be as well, though MS killed it.
If there was more non sm/imperium content in the youtube space it would be more varied
900th space marine youtuber jimbo
I just learned about Ambulon, the walking hive city, and WTF.
Calaxis has some fun stuff
The secret of warhams lore that the boring puritans don't want you to know is you can make some wild shit and hand wave it
No thats not allowed

anyway allow me to talk about my canon space marine chapter who has their own forgeworld around their plane-

Bro where ur gay ass been
Sorry u had 2 find out this way
Did you know in a paint factory orks are immortal
Did did did you no orks can just say no to your bullet if they don't believe in it hehe
Dnd tubers really do be making up the worst warhammer lore
What was eternals pfp ?
thereās liek 40 eternals
I remember people my pfps
Im gonna miss his 24/7 arguments
drunk drove too close to the sun
my old woman vibes wont be the same without him š
Fair
Iāll miss when he said i ahve ba d taste
Also constantly defending space marine slop at every interval
wont be the same anymore
Lmao

He was our only iron hands lore expert
We'll manage I guess š
But yeah I got like so many reports of him being disruptive that I ignored for over a year to be lenient, another mod saw the shit he has done and booted his ass
š
it was during a minecraft movie argument too
insane stuff
We all should wish to go out in such an epic manner
hey has anyone here played daggerfall
