Ed tell me what's your favorite space marine chapter
They sometimes have the old artists do freelance work but they're not in the studio itself anymore iirc
Dunno I kinda enjoy most of them
The giant cathedrals in particular are so nice
I had this core book wad ny first wh40k book
Fuck how am i supposed to to put you as a mini in my lore chat people as a mini
Came w the bt and the drukhari box
but i have a hard time getting a good image in my head of commoragh architecture
like is it just spiky stuff
3rd ed is so cool, I love this one
Ig Blood Angels probably
Got it
Will pay you later for the results of my endeavor
Oo that's a really neat picture of the palace
The axe the guy is holding in the bottom right is so silly big
Look at how big their hands are
I think we should adopt imperial scale architecture it's so exaggerated
yes why not
đ
The Saudis are building dumber things in the desert
I'd get behind that
its too inefficient in rl, probably unnecessarily expensive
but yes
the saudis have money
Russia built a millitary church that's very wh40k
to do whatever they want
power fists
a lot of 40k stuff is just bloated scale tbh
like theres really no military advantage to having a structure on your titan thats literally shaped like a cathedral
that looks a mission from some assassins creed game
probably unity
where you have to sneak into a church and off some dude
That's the armed forces cathedral
although I agree that cathedral is very 40k
you can probably have a great game of football in there
The Vatican is also pretty 40k like
Sensible people would strip the cathedral off the titans but the Imperium is so far removed from sensible and that's why I love it
yeah but then were getting into territory where its like what inspired 40k architecture
remember the vatican came first
I didn't reaise the Vatican IS the roman empire
All of romes money is underneath it
Very interesting hey
The Catholics know how to hoard money and gold
its not just rome, a good chunk of money throughout christian history is still accumulated under the vatican
surely you mean finland the last successor of the roman empire
TBF Eastern Orthodox Church (which is what Russia follows) also has an architectural style similar to Vatican which also inspires 40k
And I would go as far as to argue Ecclesiarch is a combo of Vatican/Eastern Orthodox influences.
They probably have some pretty morbid stiff down there
Like a foot christ washed or something
probably massive catacombs too
Oh the catacombs are mainly children
They have whole sections built from babies bones
well
Sedlec Ossuary pops off though, I really wanna visit
the main value that accounts for a lot of their wealth is archives
those guys have some books
It would be amazing my ex went to the roman catacombs
She showed me pictures she bought from there as your not alowed to take photos
Something about the flash photography wrecks it
which is a fancy word for books that were printed before the 14th century
so yes
photography is not good
Ohh yes iv heard of these books
Bunch of light sensitive stuff is hidden away yeah
Some of them are printed on skin iirc?
whistles
9000 original copies of books printed before the 14 century
the knowledge
the PAWA
Truly ancient.
probably some peasants dietery plan tbh
Imagine the knowledge we lost at that library that was sacked
Alexandria wasnât it?
LMAO
All knowledge is perilous, in books or digital formâŚ
Library of Alexandria was long fallen out of patronage when it burnt down, most of the texts had likely decayed because papyrus don't last so good
Sack of Baghdad sucked real ass for stored knowledge though
Because alot of the info is actually not allowed iirc
Kill me I ahve an exam today
Good luck !
I spent last night doing my homework I. Completely forgot lmao
I hope Lucious comes with a helmet
His face kinda sucks lol
good luck
Crazy how old he is
Uncensored Library, yeah
Pretty sure they been working on it for a while now
ive decided
tyranids are my fav 40k factions
ogres for fantasy, deepkin and ossiarch for aos, tyranids for 40k
NO FUCK THE TYRANIDS
i still cant decide nvm
I like the concept of the hernkyn yaegirs
space dwarf rangers
wearing ranger coats
also that guy in the middle row on the absolute right is carrying a sick looking shotgun like thing with a sling
LoV have some really cool models

the names are always so weird to me
It's so close to meaning something in real languages but it's half gibberish
It's nordic inspired I'm pretty sure
Yeah it's more hernkyn jaegers is one letter removed from just being iron kin hunters and it throws my brain for a loop
It doesn't really matter at all, it just throws a spanner into my brain when I try to think about it too much
yea you rite I'll make a huge issue out of this for no reason
but, they do look cool I'll give them that
Like that meme about space wolves on the Inquisition ship annoying everyone sounding like the swedish chef , SVEN it's me bjĂśrn
HELLOOO SVEN
OH HELLLOOOO BJORN
Camera zooms out and all you can hear is this
Sven Ironwolf about to chalk it up with Kodwolf Wolfheart
So my first squad of marines I painted was some 3rd edition space wolves lol, this was before the actual space wolf's army was out
I look back now and want to tell myself off
LMFAO
that sounds hilarious
Yeah it's pretty gold haha , I see alot of funny shit on Instagram about 40k
on instagram?!
My instagram is so far removed from 40k
because im not a real 40k fan i guess
I got an income and everything
It happened when I was playing sm2 then all of a sudden my insta was nothing but 40k
smh
I wish I got 40k insta stuff
well
maybe not?
I mostly get food and alcoholics
so...
I only visit instagram without an account to look at the main 40k instagram for codex artwork they sometimes post you cant get anywhere else
sounds doable
đŁď¸
Here I'll get ya algorithm started
oh very nice artwork
that art looks exceptionally difficult to actually draw
Do you guys think the Khan is still alive?
i think hes been brainwashed by the dark eldar and fights for them like that one giant troll guy in 300
A few years ago I figured the Khan was dead and gone, now I know he's coming back

How/whyâs that?
Don't know how but I know GW likes money
I think heâll come back having killed every dark eldar
so on the topic of the khan coming back
The best topic
If white scars become non codex complaint
They have an accountant
because I assume they decide based on financial prospects
I thought they were already on the edge
but they also need to weave in some storytelling to make it happen
Yeah but their shit is âwe put this guy on a bikeâ and âwe really like wizardsâ
so do the executives in some committee just go like we want khan back, and then tell all the creatives to make it happen
So no one gave a shit
I think it's fine, White Scars aren't numerous so they can do some funny things
They also call eachother different names
Everyone knows that gw doenst care about you if your legion likes psykers
I guess BA like psykers a lot
I put it like this: the white scars appreciate and respect what the codex is trying to do, but theyâre really independent so theyâll do the bare minimum if that
hes definitely coming back at some point though
his fate is too ambigious
primarchs have survived worse than getting lost in the webway chasing some dark eldar

Dorn went from being piranha'd to just losing a hand because of plot armour
Thank goodness they didnât make it too obvious in Rogue One besides Donnie Yen whacking stormtroopers with the stick at the start, itâs why I like that movie so much
It'd be fun if The Jag came busting out of the webway with some freed Deldar slaves but that might be shitting too much on the Deldar
Yessss! Gws bringing white scars back is this confirmed ??
Jagathai is one of the coolest primarchs
Nothing confirmed as far as I know but primarchs sell well so
To be fair
anyone he frees means nothing, commorragh is literally endless

Ahhh ok ok fingers n toes crossed
Sadly not any time soon I think.
Although given how 3 Demon Primarchs are back nowâŚwe can do with one more loyalist Primarch returning.
So who knows.
There is that, the Deldar will replace the losses within one to two business days
literally
The Space Wolf range refresh is hinting at someone else returning
I mean
if a certain supreme grand master can roam around the chaos wastes for eternity
then khan can survive the webway
also what happened to russ again, how did he go awol
he went into the Eye to get a mcguffin to revive the Emperor
oh yeah
Went out to buy some warp Milk and never came back
What's that silly wolfboy prophecy, it basically outlines the primarchs coming back
Wait hang on I got it wrong.
We have 4 Demon Primarchs, and 2 Loyalist ones.
Russ is probably highly likely third.
So Jag could be the 4th. Itâs either him or Rogal.
Had a fit and just left his kids to go on errands some time after the heresy
plot armor
The super dead ones are Horus, Sanguinius and Ferrus Manus.
Remember
The 3 that GW couldnât really bring back without breakingâŚeverything.
Primarch returns depend on sales
Allegedly
Vulkan is still on his respawn timer
so you need to calculate which Chapter makes the most money after Space Wolves
definitely not iron hands
Actually in THAT case, if Slaamanders and Fists are coming up next
Yeah that.
GW could be temperature measuring
Smurfs or ba I'd say
ultramarines are getting a second primarch ?
Its either Sallies or Fists
Guilliman secundus
After, not before
Secundeez nu-
Vulkan or Rogal returns would be nice, either one works for me.
May the best Marines sales winâŚ
Cawl cloning Guilliman because they might actually be able to sort out the Imperiums logistics
Vulkan just needs to be found to get his ass off some stupidass planet like last time
He got atomized you drug addicted cousin of ronald mcdonald
If he is alive after that i am blowing my head off with a shotgun
That's a new one
He survived worse
But Russ is definitely coming back at some point.
And come on, we need some DA/SW infighting to give Guilliman a bigger headacheâŚ
Russ is next edition
Drug addicted cousin of Ronald mc Donald
he'll come back in some big event like Arks of Memes
What happened to my cuz Ron McDon
Do you think he will get a new thing from the Emperor, or just stay with his spear
Man i can't wait for maggie to mentally break upon seeing that happen
Corvus Corax is another likely candidate for returning
He's not looking so good these days
Russâ return to his Space Wolves after spending so much time exposed to the powers of the Immaterium
You know what annoys me most about Vulkan? He's literally just off huffing somewhere
Corvus is pretty much a warp God atm isn't he
Daemon maybe, god no
A bit less likely, if only because GW kind of wrote themselves into a corner (he is now a sort of demon prince like Primarch thing that is also still loyal but obviously too demonic to be superhumanâŚ)
vulkan is walking around some desert planet in a cloak and hood preaching about love peace and flamethrowers
Warp entity* my bad
The question is not "Which primarch would fit best as returning" It's "Which primarch returning would make GW the most money" Which is probably Russ tbqh
Amnesia is a bitch, even if you have infinite regenâŚ
So Vash the Stampede but with pyromania
still havent seen trigun, heard its good though
It's really good, haven't seen the new anime much
Russ is 3rd for sure, but we are playing guessing game on 4th.
Since we know there will be a 1:1 ratio for loyalist and traitor Primarchs (and the traitor Primarchs are 4)
The old one is really good though, can't go wrong with it
Either that or he got too much Ork juice after the last time he died and is secretly leading an Ork waaaaagh as a holiday
lorgar doesnt have a canon model or image as a daemon primarch does he
Russ, Perturabo, Dorn
Or Russ, Religious dude, Crow
I mean he is green
Not that I like War of The Beast at all but didn't they just find Vulkan sniffing his own farts somewhere random
"There aren't nearly enough wolf references anymore. Sort it out lads"
Yeah pretty much.
lorgar is kinda cool as a villain type
People forget every single decision in warhammer IPs is made on money, not lore
his origin story makes more sense to me than mortarion
4th is likely Khan, esp since he featured pretty heavily in Siege of Terra series
His chapter had the first possessed marines iirc
Him being featured in Siege doesnt do much
White Scars are very much not popular
True
people wojak point at them and go "they're cool" but never buy their models
which sucks but it is what it is
There like way stronger than normal possessed cause something specific happened to em
I donât know, upcoming marine releases are Salamanders and Fists, tilting the likelihood towards Vulkan or Dorn depending on sales.
I forgot they existed until you just reminded me of them right now
People do like their Fists and Templars
Black Templars ARE the best chapter, yes
If him getting a tank named after him is supposed to be a big hintâŚ
I'm waiting for templars to come out again
Imagine he's peacefully built himself his like perfect heavenly place of like good fortress in peace and then suddenly he got found in
Pretty sure Bts are one of there best selling factions
people love their autistic rage idgaf about anything except my braindead need to PURGE
As it turns out that was the Imperial Palace, and he has been secretly leading the Custodes until Guilliman was all like âyo Dorn enough of the secret BS, show yourself.â
Not Dorn
But I don't like the stuff he gets upto
Iâm just wondering if the next Primarch will also get a relic of Big E like Roboute and Johnson. R has the sword and LJ has the Emperorâs shield
Most likely
I think it was stated they each would, don't remember where
or the idea was that they would, whichever suits
If GW chooses Dorn to be the 4th Primarch after Russ, Dorn is likely to have Primarch sized custodian weapon. Which could be cool.
Actually Dorn might get that bitchass claw.
Since Fists and all.
GW not being subtle with their imagery.
id just give dorn big E's old underwear
It has been interesting, G-man getting the sword, Lion getting a shield to play on their weaker sides
You should read Siggy in siege
one of the most sleep inducing stuff ever
his chapters are like
"Im some sort of... Emperor's Champion."
*vine boom*
"I must lead my... Templar Brethren. Who all wear Black..."
*vine boom*
you can tell his brain has folded to remove all functions except the incessant need to WIN
real
Emperorâs Champion is the equivalent of receiving an employee of the month award
It's maybe because I skipped so many of the HH books but I liked his arc from what I glimpsed, going from a being to just some fanatic robot who kills
Yeah his duel with Kharn is hilarious
he says nothing to him
while Kharn is like
"RAAARRAGHHHH"
disrespect goes so hard lmao
Kharn calls Sigismund damaged. The hypocrisy is rich and delicious.
Kharn is a funny and swell guy, it's dumb but I love that
He slapped fulgrim and cut him w his chain
kharn is basically an exalted bloodletter in space marine armor by this point
That was funny
I liked Sig's moments in TEATD but maybe there were a few too many chapters of doing the same thing
'Saturnine' is a novel in the Siege of Terra series, written by Dan Abnett, I loved this book so much I contacted 'The Grape Lords of Terra' animators to bring a certain scene to life!
Because of Games Workshops Animation Policy, it was never finished, I hope you enjoy what managed to get done.
PLEASE! Check out The Grape Lords of Terra YouTu...
Dorn would probably get the Emperor's armor tbh
I remember finding it hype, that duel was swagged up
That could work too
rogal dorn? more like, " IM REGALLY ADORNED NOW!"
4th loyal returning primarch is obviously Alpharius though
Kharn has literal brain damage
You mean
Actually I think I will call it now.
Russ and Dorn as 3rd and 4th returning Primarchs.
Simply because GW has to have randomly named the new Guard tank after Dorn for a reason.
likely tbh
Kharn talking about shit like this as if he isnt some berserk psychopath killing anyone in his path is funny af
It's peak literature I'm weeping
LMFAO
i like how his last words were about trying to get a moral and ethical one upping, like yeah this is whats really important right now, which one of us has the moral high ground and its me, Kharn, the Blood Crazed Champion of Khorne
More wild speculation, Dorn is forced to emerge from hiding because the Tyranid Hive Fleet actually reaches Terra to do a proper siege (unlike Magnusâ puny attempt during Guillimanâs journey).
GW will write the plot to ensure Guilliman, Russ and Johnson are all tied down by something else.
I still think the entire Horus Heresy era was a mistake
See the video above
It should've been left mysterious
I honestly could not finish TEATD
and sigismund is just like " kharn this is a wendys"
I stopped halfway through book 2
Thank god I only read like 8 or 9 HH + siege books, I got what I wanted out of it
I think HH novels were hits and misses. Some hits, some miss.
Angronâs background is a massive, massive miss for example.
Jaghtai Khanâs is one I would call a massive hit.
What the fuck did they do to Ollanius
Hh is probably some of my favorite lore
All the perpetual crap was stupid
I BARELY finished all 3 books
It was a bit unnecessary
And every book writes Big E differently
the part where Oll gives up his christianity to embrace the Emperor as a messiah and that he needs to get up through the power of friendship to defeat Horus was hilarious
like what the fuck am i reading rn
I think I blanked that out
oh god
DSFLKDSFKLDSF
naruto vibes
I donât know a single person who thinks the end and the death isnât too long
Also
Somehow the ending feels rushed
It was

@storm jungle when someone gets what GW wanted of its fans better than GW themselves ever does.
Episode 1 of a multi-part narrative Horus Heresy Battle Report series, detailing the lore of the Second Siege of Cthonia. In "The Pyre of Ambition," the Raven Guard attack the larger, beleaguered Sons of Horus 68th Chapter amidst a hellish dropsite.
Please see my other videos for more content exclusively set in the Horus Heresy.
#horusheresy #...
How the fuck did Abnett fumble what used to be the coolest moment in all of 40k
I told my friend who masturbates to the fantasy of original Oll and he got so upset it is funny
Too much thinking
Not enough doing
^
His editor didnât reign him in
Like I enjoy some parts of the 3 volumes but its just too much
Is the big thing
It could've sincerely used some editing
knowing it was Nick Kyme makes me laugh every time
There's a bunch of cool stuff but a lot of what's the point of that
He kind of went hog wild
this fella has a great voice for narration
Lol
Mfw Kyme tells Abnett to write whatever he wants
Iâll keep it in my heart. I just like Ollie as the simple guardsman who stood up to the Chaos Juiced Cue Ball.
And also being slightly over ambitious, trying to tie in all versions of who sacrificed themselves for the Emperor into a single coherent narrative.
so uh fun fact with that, he mentions this in the afterword of Vol3.
Basically and I quote: "My editor Kyme told me write as much as I want and not worry about wordcount."
so you basically did not do your job as an editor

Another Kyme W
The way he presents everything reminds me of what got me hooked into 40k in the first place. Guy knows what goes on in our heads when we read the lore and play the game.
im listening to it
this dude is straight up a pro
his narration is flawlessly serious lmao
it sounds like im listening to a description of a roman battle from a former centurion
It captures the intended 40k mood just right.
Cheesy enough to be entertainment but also down to Earth and gritty in content, as if it was real.
He does good narrative battle reports
Iâm not always looking for narrative stuff though lul
But his quality is insanely good
Is Tallarn Ironclad a single book or a part of a series?
The difference between a good narrator and a great one is crazy
Makes you realise most of the YouTube ones are terrible
I mean I kinda like Vox in the Void
I like grimdark shards heaps
He's v good
Does short audio books
Usually horror one's
I'll have to check out vox in the void
He does it very nice. Iâd recommend the Last Chancers and I love his brief âPity the Guardsmanâ delivery. As well as the Gav and Bob series
My first exposure to a 40k narrator in media was Warrior Tier and that Ogryn short story

Step into the void beyond the Emperorâs light with "The Ghoul Stars Hunger," an original Warhammer 40K audiobook that plunges you int...
This is his style
Usually about ships or stations and the imaterium and it's horrors
In the depths of Hive City Rokarth, a sinister presence stirs. Whispers of a Fallen Goddess spread like wildfire, promising salvation to the downtrodden and forsaken. But beneath the veil of divine mercy lurks something far more insidiousâa Tzeentchian plot to unravel the Imperiumâs order from within.
The Adepta Sororitas of the Bloody Rose...
This one's really good
There was one story I came across about a priest visting some shipbreakers and they find a space marine frozen in stasis in a bit of ship hull and it goes way south
I've never been able to find it again
I think that was a Vox in the void one.
I just donât remember the title but I remember listening to how a rogue trader thought he was gonna make bank but they let loose a crazed Astartes
The first one i sent is about some imperial turned heretic looting a ship and finding a big chunk of flesh in status which they thonk is a priceless artifact , the second one is v good it's about soritas cleansing a tzeentch cult
@green loom @summer mural there add you two to the list
ed you're the death company marine and drifty
fuck it you're the kraken eater
what do you mean
oh its this great kubrick movie about secret sex cults starring tom cruise and nicole kidman
no i'm just bored and I decided to make you people into minis but for this information I might just have to turn you into a snotling
is there a greater response to near annihilation to clown on the galaxy
egrimm van horstmann is pretty cool
I actually really like his shenanigans when he was not discovered as a traitor and was completely destabilizing the order of light from within
including getting the patriarch killed and then orchestrating his own rise to patriarch
So Cawl released primaris marines after the Great Rift formed?
How long you think did it take for all chapters on the Cawl's side of the Rift to get fully primaris'd up?
happened throughout the indomitus crusade IIRC
Whatâs chatâs thoughts on mannfred von carstine
he gave us aos because he just cannot sit still and had to be a traitor
0 out of 10
But to be honest I do like the fact that they make him so unlikable they succeed on that
what regiment are the penance armour? the blue havoc one
I thought it was 51 or 21
They arenât fully primaris yet, only the newly founded primaris only chapters are fully primaris
The Havoc ones are 53rd
We also have 21st (Pc players from before console release)
which ones are the blue coloured havoc armour
Those ?
actually likeable character that became insufferable in the end times
also kinda saved the empire from vlad
also has cool af vampire quotes like this one
"It seems to me that life is like a fast-flowing stream, and the mortals upon the world are like sticks and leaves caught helpless in its grip, dragged on through life, age, and into death. But we, the children of blood, have stepped beyond the river, rooted outside of its urging flow, standing as stones whilst life and time pass by. Thus we see all things come and go, empires rise and fall, all things once strong become weak. All things, of course, save ourselves."
Who wrote that for him? Is that Josh Reynolds?
its from 2nd edition Nights Dark Masters
dunno who wrote it
Night's Dark Masters is a supplement for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (2nd Edition) published by Black Industries.
What will i be
i'm gonna be honest i forgot you existed
so tell me what do you want to be before i forget
also on the topic of manny carstein
I recommend the third vampire war
manfredd uses actual tactics and strategies, and the empire does too, its kinda competent as far as wars are concerned
bald mf
glorious baldness
iirc, this is also the one that climaxes at the battle of hel fenn
where manfredd fights united imperials and their dawi allies
Are there still friendly mobian 6th that fight the corrupted 6th?
i know what you are
No, they got purged
I was just wondering bc his regiment of renown seems quite good in AOS
fine you get a bladelord
Lumineth gamer
this is what it is by the way
God I love stormcasts
Skaventide is so good so far
The depressed lesbian painter is so good
The blue is the 6th
The black one is the 53rd
You can see it on the pauldron
The 21st have different flak armor and a blue uniform
I just reread nagash lore for fun
feel so bad for that good ol lad alcadizaar
its even worse when you realize that after all that, they built mourkain on top of his burial mound
Such is the power of nagash
gw can we have a giant statue of this art please

God I love 40k yaoi
this would give Skarbrand an aneurysm
Nah he would cumdge instead

i completely forgot what an absolute pos nagash was every moment of his existence
the mans so busted beyond belief, he got burnt to a crisp in a furnace, then the sooty particles drifting in the wind found each other over decades and decades and coalesced into a blob over decades which crawled itself to the black pyramid inch by inch over decades
and voila
evil bastards back
that one would actually kill him on the spot

Also yeah Nagash has been like
evil by the time he was a functioning human being around the age of 10 lol
More than erebus?
Extremely lol
Erebus is very much a sideshow attraction
Nagash's evil cuntiness has like so many fucking layers to it
remember that this man's pettiness lead to him literally becoming a god of the dead
he created a personal brand of evil that influenced loads of other evil
^
He literally punishes you for being a nice person in life
đ
LIKE BRO WHAT DID I DO
well
Based.
Is this covered in the nagash book/omnibus?
at least its good to know even nagash believes mannfred has literally no redeeming qualities lmao
I'm not knowledgable in AoS
You didnât pray to him while you were puking blood after getting shanked 22 times
You will now be tortured forever
As a ghost
A lot of rulebook stuff
How do you avoir getting nagash'd on death? Swear your soul to chaos or get reforged into stormcast by siggy?
Those 2 work, maybe youâre too boring for nagash, maybe another god protects you, Ect.
But if nagash takes notice of you

Thatâs rough
Yeah he literally sometimes does it just to be a cunt.
like... theres essentially no loopholes
lmao
Didn't expect old daemon yaoi in lore chat
Rookie move
olynder
Now granted she was kind of a horrible person
But I donât think she deserved that lol
Nagash is unique in that he's just a cunt to everyone, good or bad
Dedicated follower or usurper
Olynder and the ferry man weren't good people and yet are placed in ironically awful positions
What he did to Kurdoss Valentian was worse
Ye
Dude was a follower of Sigmar who overthrew his brother who worshipped Nagash. But on the day of his coronation Nagash struck him down and made him an undead
Assigned by Nagash despite their protests
Then in the realms of the Undead he was starting to amass power and become a Wight King when Nagash again denied him, scooped him up and forced him to marry Lady Olynder
Basically the dudes main desire was to become King and Nagash just keeps cucking him everytime he's about to do it
Then to hammer in the joke Nagash cursed him to float around on a throne and made him unable to talk
He can only communicate through his heralds which call him names like "The usurper", "The False King" and "The Craven King"
Don't they also blare horns right next to his ear just to annoy him?
Also donât they stop him from getting any kills
His guards
They literally stab them before he can finish them off
If I remember rightly the Heralds are the souls of the people he betrayed in life
Man those heralds are eating good
They're probably the best example of Nagash being benevolent with his punishments
"Benevolent" of course
Yea I think they're the brothers he betrayed and in that case they were worshipers of Nagash who ruled a kingdom devoted to him, so he's a bit more lenient
Lets them annoy their brother as a treat
Spoilers for skaventide book:
||grand daughter and grandpa bonding over knife fighting in the sewers||
YDYDYFYF
this is TMNT all over again
Why does this thing have a second grip?
the worlds worst stock
because the mini also has one
you're like 20 years late to the party
I'd like it if the stock on the ingame model was more that sized, it looks a little anemic ingame
It isn't the size that matters
It's how you use it

tbh in the mini its big because its a miniature

if it was that large ingame it'd look way goofier
Jokes aside, I like to think that the flamers might be makeshift.
A lot of the flamer patterns in general don't have a stock.
Also the fact that it has a wood finish terrifies me for obvious reasons

Like what if an ember falls on it. The thing is fucking ruined
Considering that the Zealot in lore is literally just
Somebody who decided to go batshit and kill heretics without sanction
It would make sense if their flamers are also makeshift. Maybe cobbled together from different guns and industrial tools
Also because there is no way in hell somebody would make an STC fragment of a Flamer with a wooden stock
Then again, I'm pretty sure DAoT humans were on the rough stage of
"I can use this STC to do any bullshit I want"
We already have people doing it with AI after all
It'd probably take a lot more than just an ember unless it's something that wants to explode if you just look at it wrong like eucalyptus
yeah ik but like
i imagine if there is a tiny error, instead of it just being bad
it would be fucking awful
like even assuming if it's just like
a surface wood finish
it would still render the flamer unusable
tbf a flamethrower having an error is very fucking bad but there's a reason why they're made out of fucking metal
this freakin' bot it's killin me
i mean arent the soldiers just meant to believe that guns work because the machine spirit said so
I wouldn't be too too worried if it's treated to be flame resistant, plus the soviets used wooden furniture on one of their flamethrower designs. Then again, it was made to look more like an ordinary rifle to not draw attention
but it's vostroyan weapons, it's just their schtick to look ornate and old timey
I'll kill that thing one day
the zealot probably unironically thinks that the holy design of the wooden flamethrower makes it better
Some zealots are white girl ditzy it's true
flame regardant
Itâs super wood
What's that one Necromunda novel where a bunch of people are given flamers that only work sometimes, Fire Made Flesh or something
but being very religious makes them work smile
I oughta finish that one, it had some interesting stuff going on
Cawdor moment
Honestly it's not that the soldiers wouldn't use such a tihng that I'm confused about
I would totally believe the average guardsman would use a fucking wooden finish flamer
also space wood or something
I'm just thinking
What high ass DAoT era human decided to go to the STC and be like
"Hey AI"
snoorrttt
"G-give me a fucking WOODEN FLAMETHROWER?"
[WHAT?]
"Do it nowwwwwwww"
[GOD DAMMIT THIS IS WHY WE'RE GONNA REBEL ONE DAY]
"What?"
[WHAT?]
Some weapons enthusiasts really, really like wood furniture
Using wood as furniture for flamethrower is a good idea and intentional. Wood has way lower heat transfer than metal, so it keeps you from getting burn.
Despite being pretty much a fuel source, wood is difficult to burn, you don't start fire with it generally.
yeah it needs to be dry if i remember
wait that's starting a fire
i mean ig hardwood is probably the best for anti fire
which is probably what they use
Walnut which was commonly used for weapon furniture was on the more flame resistant side
It does take a bit of effort
The ROKS flamethrower was also pretty funny, look at that thing
The thing is that once it reaches the temperature for wood to burn, it will deteriorate into inflammable gas and burn as amber.
Oh hey a rifl- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
But otherwise, it is good insulation, of course not comparable to modern tech.
I can only talk of real life example.
The vostroyans get along well with the mechanicus so Iâd assume their wood goes through a similar process
WH40k can do whatever.
It ultimately is just because it looks cool and that's it, but it's fun to think about a bit
Remember, even SM still use leather pouches...
mm, human skin pouches. Which Black Templar has that again, was it in Broken Crusade?
Human leather is a pretty popular thing in the imperium
Oh I forgot BT are organized by crusades
I always imagine grox tasting somewhere between mushrooms and chicken
Human leather irl is weaker then cow leather but itâs not bad at all
Probably also have special like
space wood (tm)
or something
It's a nice coat
So itâs pretty soft
Hmm I wonder where the data for that came from
Itâs nice on books and such Id assume lol
Nah, but barely hold up against pig leather.
Mhm
Idk Iâm sure the research paper is neat
Don't ask how I know.
Did bro just have to put "I'd assume" as an edit đ
Lol
In any case human leather isnât that grim dark imo
Irl cultures have done it with some regularity globally
Most are usually from ancient socities tbh
The imperium doing it for more fancy things seems fine
However there have been cases as late as the 1800s where people, after being dead, decided to donate their body to science
We know the Lex Imperialis is bound in human leather
Yeah but it's grimdark when it's on a mass scale like the corpse starch thing
Most leathers have to have a good layer of fat to it, and human really don't have as much.
and apparently some scientists decided to turn their skin into leather for shits and giggles
For the copies kept in arbite precincts
There's a video about human leather bound books I gotta find
The field copies for the Lex imperialis
Are not bound in human skin
Theyâre grox hide
Surviving examples of human skin bindings have often been commissioned, performed, or collected by medical doctors, who have access to cadavers, sometimes those of executed criminals, such as the case of John Horwood in 1821 and William Corder in 1828
A famous example is James Allen, who on his death bed was like
"Yo, when I die, bind a copy of a book I like with my own skin. I really like it..."
fucking dies
And they actually did
Our skin is too thin to make it worth the effort of threating it. It is a novelty thing at best in the human history.
No real practical use.
It's basically there because it's cool.
That's
That's it
You're better off using cow, pig, etc.
In 40K, maybe Catachan skin is good enough to make anything out of.
That being said, the Imperium probably uses human leather mainly for like
fashion
and also books
Maybe ogyrn skin is good enough
It's a big ol' death cult it makes sense for them
tbf human beings are probably the most plentiful supply for the Imperium
Vellum
Wasn't there this guy who wanted to have his body made into a drum when he died so he could continue to inspire in battle after death?
I wouldn't be surprised if even outside of desperate times, a lot of rations have a mysterious source of "protein"
Shit, I was just talking about how SM still using leather pouches, and now we are discussing the best use for human leather...
waste not want not
Yeah human leather in general is mid tier

C-
D tier at best
The night lords are cringe, do some real tanning
Actually that would be a funny quirk for like a Slaaneshi OC
"HUMAN SKIN?!? EW I'M NEVER USING THAT. TOO LOW QUALITY!"
"Now, Tau Leather is surprisingly good-"
I have mentioned like a fashion diva Slaaneshi OC. If only because
Well it would sound interesting
Eldar would theoretically probably be unable to be turned into leather
If I remember correctly they have like
no fat
Also are Eldar bones like literal rocks?
Like there is a phenomenon for human beings that get too old
Our bones calicify
Her video style isn't for everyone, but she covers a wide range of interesting topics with somewhat of a morticians lens on things

By the skin of our books...

DARK ARCHIVES by Megan Rosenbloom is now...
But there's like 5 human skin bound books and it's not so good for the purpose
And also, apparently when Eldar grow old enough, they basically start to crystallize
And I wonder if it's like inspired by that
Maybe? I don't know.
Fossilisation
Elder Psyker bones turn to crystal
Very slowly very painfully lol
Because grimdark
I mean if you think about it
It's basically a really bad form of osteoporosis
just
Magical and Eldar
which is kinda funny
Itâs based on the chorf thing
Explicitly tbh
Since chorfs also turn to stone using magic
wtf is a chorf

that sounds like some made up name similar to glaggle simpson or something
eldar have erogenous eartips 100% canon truth
Chaos dwarfs
...welp.
opens up r34
This was literally written by a necron iirc
Or an alpha legionary agent
Nah it wasnt
I forgot which one
Wasn't it a rogue trader who was wrong about all of the shit
Uhhh the fucking-
No
why
i forgot his name
too much setting shaking mythology
Liber xenologis is written by a rogue trader
thats Xenologis
And its slightly more sane
...that actually kinda sucks tbh
although maybe the book was probably dogshit
Eldar do not shit crystals
Itâs like a meth bender
Lol
40k is literally a meth bender in general tbh
there was genuinely so much borderline smut about touching elf ears on the 4chan traditional games board
Whatâs new
/TG/ is degenerate
That's wot I got it from
In its own special way
"AND THEN MAKE THEIR LEADER MARGRET THATCHER"
No thatâs xenology
and it's still better than the majority of 4chan tbh
I know thatâs not in xenologis
although that's a very low bar
god dammit
who tf decided
Not my video
actually making me nervous
One of them is called Liber xenologis
Back in my day Thulsa Doom demanded bitches and fa/tg/uys were chill đ´
The other is just called xenology
mainly because i am scared of the stilts breaking
What does that even mean
Xenos â
You know how you feel good when you touch certain parts of your body
ears cause arousal
to simplify further
SEEEEEEEEXXXXXXX
if you even blow a breeze on an eldars ear they'll bust a nut and be consumed by slaanesh
to be honest, i think it wouldn't be true if only because like
imagine how that shit would feel in the cold
like imagine going into a cold pool the first time
constantly
that should would be awful
i think you might be insane
Actually I just realized
then again i like my weighted blankets
Are humans the only dnd race with rounded ears lol
let me check
I don't know D&D particularly well but I figured the shortfolk were roundears
Gnomes and halflings got tips
halflings mostly got rounded in depictions
Is that why eldar always wear big helmets
nah
the factoid is non canon anyways
so
eh
although apparently it's also an erogenous zone for humans
ears
i think it's an individual thing because i don't feel shit
probably
HAAAANK HAAAAANK DONâT ABBREVIATE COMBAT PATROL OR COMMAND POINT
Im not trippin right, the animations that occur when walking up against the wall in darktide were added not long ago right? I swear they were not there at launch
For the weapons like going up? Nah
Theyâve been in the game for ages
"For ages" but not since launch? I have a vivid memory of going into the meat grinder as an update just came out and was surprised to see my gun go up when i went up next to a wall.
How does a sister of battle join an order?
Do they told the novitiate after a selection that âyou go with the martyred lady orderâ or how?
Same with things like the las gun. I swear it had totally different reload/sprint anims? Also when you inspected the boltgun at launch, your guy would cock back chamber thing when inspecting the gun
Yeah those changes were like in the way early months
people complained it looked too fancy/took too long to reload (skill issue)
They get picked for an order when they exit the schola

In one of the Dark Heresy expansion books it talks about drill abbesses snooping around Progenia looking for suitable candidates
We cant let homelessness do all the work
It's a good thing 40klore posts excerpts
40klore
the best and worst thing
ever
if anybody has a 40k question, somebody probably asked it there
and aprox. 65% of them are primarch relate-
They took that out quick yet the ogryn grenadier gauntler has had its reload anim bugged for a year + now. Grrrrr!
Probably goes to show its not that important

đŚ
It waxes and wanes, at least it's not grimdank
What is 40k...
mans deoderant
how do i explain it to a pretty girl without scaring her away
My dear friend was asked what he was into and he started talking about 40k for about three quarters of an hour and the woman he was rambling at lost any and all interest
So unless they're huge nerds or you pull a baddie by being a fool you don't
Warhammer 40000 is a franchise of science fiction and dark fantasy for adults or grimdark as it is usually referred to, founded in 1987 by the British company games workshop.
I pull baddies by being a fool often
I have the baddest baddie I've ever had, love brasil
xenologist eldar lore was wacky
diamond poop, erogenous ears, needing sex multiple times per pregnancy just off the top of my head
there was definitely an inside guy in charge of that page
xenologist is where we get Da Fat Ork, though
The third one is canon still

For better or for worse
"lore" aka the writers fetishes in all in one đ¤Ł
truly grand
All world building is just magical realms anyway it's fine
My fren knows about 40k because I sent her a random video of a vtuber with a dog in a bowl avatar talking about the lore in a yt short
i wish eldar weren't as humanized as they are, hot take
although ive bitched about this plenty of times already, im a broken record
i like drukhari because they really play up a more alien angle
I gotta find that art I really found cool
normal eldar are too much like Space Elves
it's fucking peak
Iâm sad GW didnât do it for yvraine
what does that even mean

are you also gonna say imperials are too much like imperials?
that Elves In Space is about as conductive to the setting as a rusty wrench thrown at my motherboard
the conventional Elf trope comes with subtropes that just do not fit in my beloved war setting
eldar should be extinct
don't do that to my boys
Theyâre not really like traditional elves though for craftworld
dark eldar are so badass
I dont really agree at all, they are a very unique aesthetic thats done right
The only thing they share is the huge ego lol
there's potential for them to be different, but it's not being realized
