Nurgle will make you numb to all feelings, including every positive emotion, while turning your body into a live growing vat, and Slaanesh will make you feel all of the emotions and feelings at once, but mostly bad ones. I personally would like to at the very least keep some of my own self as I'm being violated

I just had a very weird realisation.
You know how the 4 astronomers in the game actually managed to (mostly) keep their bodies from mutating too badly and sane (basically they don’t lose their marbles and mutate ||unless you bring them wrong offerings and break their belief that they have seen The Visitor…||)
…If I apply that line of logic to Chaos, excessively weirdly the Imperial Creed bends back into making a very weird and unintentional sort of sense.
Because that would imply a borderline high intensity focus (read: being fanatically faithful) is actually a valid defence in preventing Chaos induced madness and mutation.
To be clear, for normal humans we are talking about Sister of Battle levels of dedication here.

I did have one great moment in a game once where we were fighting a psychic monster in a pirate shanty void-station and one of our teammates threw a psykout grenade at the monster which was a smart thing to do since it actually helped us defeat it.

I'm pretty sure almost every rpg system makes it clear that rolls are there to create exciting moments and make whatever the player is doing feel like it was worth it, or something to that extent. I already feel grateful for just barely waking up every day, I don't need this kind of experience in my rpg

I can't believe it took me this long to realize. Probably because I never played tactics.

The X-02 is definitely the Midwestern PA from Tactics

And I don't think they decanonized Tactics until around after FO3's release?

So do you think the intention back then, was that the Enclave used the old Midwestern power armor suits?

And that's also why stats wise it was worse than the T-51

Because the Enclave used what's essentially outdated equipment

Or at least cheaper to produce compared to the X-01

I always envisioned this as some completely ridiculous level of bad luck or misfortune, where the stars align to fuck you over

like in xcom, the 99% chance to hit at point blank and you miss? If it were up to me, I'd rule that as like the gun jamming, or some sort of unlikely twist of fate

I make my players do checks for things their characters couldnt easily do or have a lot of chance involved, like things regular humans would need to roll for, a space marine could often just do. Like opening a regular door? No check. Breaking into a locked door or baffling the security, thats a check

When it comes to deception or persuasion, I make the players tell me exactly what they would say, and from there determine if its possible, and what the DN is from there

And I roll meta-knowledge checks like perception and insight secretly so they dont get a 1 and think "ok so I wont trust anything the DM says"

This prevents BS nat 20 situations like going up to the BBEG and convincing him to just give up, by saying "Come ooooooon...."

Yeah I only do this if it has some sort of story significance or would reasonably be locked with a security system like a restricted area

Found it too weird so they decided to not include the game in their new canon.

If you walk up to the fanatical or devoted BBEG and try to persuade him the best reasonable outcome is "Now that's funny" or maybe him making the fight a tiny bit easier because he'll treat you more honorably or something

I like the other parts of the universe a bit more like the Mechanicus or Nurgle but the Lamenters are neat

Eh, yes and no, problem is normal hides are tan to white when they’re done, and as leather ages it literally tans and gets darker, so it’s hard to get it to be any color lighter than the base leather

Mustard yellow, however is workable

I have this color available to me

If I’m making something inspired by the lamenters this is probably the best I have to work with, in the type of leather that I work with (and not insanely expensive)
