40K Casual fan here. By Casual I mean I read the novels, and buy and Play the Video games. The Table Top Game is a bit pricey for my blood.

My question Auto-guns and Stubbers. From my understanding are the peak and pinnacle of Gunpower based firearms, use caseless ammo and come from an STC. Stubbers are guns made by gangs and locals who don't have access to higher level teach or need to arm a lot of people cheaply, they have no set make or model, and still used case ammo.

So why does the Auto-guns in the game have cases, or are names stubber and Auto-guns are interchangeable?

The short answer is kind of. Originally the auto guns are said to be caseless. However some authors and artists don't remember or don't know how weapons work and omit the differences.

For the moment, in the 8th edition books, they have the autogun and the heavy stubber share the same ammo.
