that means peak
i say this as a WoD and Bloodlines 1 fan lol
I suspect/hope it'll be a fine game, but it doesn't seem like a bloodlines sequel
if it's a solid 7 I will be content
you think their budget got fucked hard enough that its gonna be like a quarter of the game realized
also they showed off blood boil and it looks awesome
I lost hope the moment they fired the O.G writer and the composer
Age of Wokemar....
Female................
age of DEI
LMFAO
sigmar is black
I finally noticed that Bloodlines 1 just ripped a bit from Angel for their soundtrack
Rik Shaffer deserves better, I still listen to the ost 😔
I saved the whole comic it’s so good
me with dead space
I will always hate DSP3 ending
how is he still alive
DARKSEID
2000's youtube should stay dead
speaking of composer. anyone who played Doom Eternal. What'd you think of the others, Andrew Hulshult and David Levy for the DLCs after Mick Gordon was let go?
good
I think Hushult did a pretty good job
It was good
I have hope for Dark Ages
lol
since the music so far has sounded decent
bethesda being scummy yet again
Dark Ages will be peak it has to
I mean everything we've seen so far is peak
its like replacing Jesper Kyd with the Mechanicus composer.
You know he will cook but it also aint no Jesper track
GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATT
fair.

thats good
https://youtu.be/8KyA7bf4IB0?si=OnHqoh4TK5dtMFlP my only problems are that I hate the stubby weapons and lack of synced glory kills
Enjoy this short gameplay sizzle of DOOM: The Dark Ages featured in Developer_Direct 2025!
Developed by id Software, DOOM: The Dark Ages is the prequel to the critically acclaimed DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal that tells an epic cinematic story of the DOOM Slayer’s rage. In this third installment of the modern DOOM series, players will step in...
people dug it up from the files lol
I kinda get it, I was quite upset when Kelly Bailey didn't return to make HL:A's OST
Same
when Techpriests find an STC and decide to throw a Rave on the forge world
Buried tide track>?

blackmar?

hah
indeed
Speaking of techheads earlier, would it be too odd for the fanricator-general of a forgeworld to have a removable spine & brain robocop style to slot into a new body frame
WOAH VULKAN GREW HIS HAIR
No
Nah
Pretty “simple” augmentation lore wise
Most priests just aren’t rich enough
Ah yes, the building boy
Him making it as annoying as possible to get his body between mars and terra

HORUS LUPERCAL… Primarch of the Luna Wolves, The Emperor's Proxy, The Warmaster.
As Horus leads his Luna Wolves on the Great Crusade, the foundation of the Imperium begins to shift. His sons, Ezekyle Abaddon, Tarik Torgaddon, the newest member of the Mournival, Garviel Loken, put their lives on the line to honor their legion and lead their Prim...
HOW DID I MISS THIS
Rising to the sick beats of hatsune miku
in my heart he flies 😌
Horus Rising, the twin brother of Horus Heresy
How plausible is it for a world's inhabitants to not recognize a ork as well, and ork, and instead think them to be a surprise visit from the Salamanders?
People mistook trazyn and his warriors as marines of the Silver Skulls once, so I think its plausible
What if its a freebooter hired to help defend a world?
idk just a funny idea I thought of for a potential campaign idea lol
I'd just go for it then
Like some blood axes that dress up in stolen power armor
Wet leopard growl
Y'Know, the more I listen to the horus heresy, the more I think the emperor might have directed his anger in Slightly wrong directions.
Unless his speed was actually justified beyond trying to beat the consequence of his speed
Nvm
He justifies his rush job because of some nebulous future that we can't see
Basically the Emperor can see different futures
With zero idea on how it got to that point. A mirror with zero context.
If you want my personal pet theory, the Emperor saw the 40k universe and rushed specifically to avoid it.
But ended up causing it.
There was also the Ork build up, among other things.
I'll take "Things that didnt happen" for 500!
Bro does not know the story of Odin
I once had a printer issue.
Yelled at it to work or I'll replace it while I bash it with a stick.
Immediately printed it out successfully next try
...
I still replaced the printer because I needed a color option
But my current printer has issues also
I am of the opinion that continuous positive encouragement works better
In the long term yeah
But I had a paper due tomorrow so

Oh yeah under pressure violence is first resort
Violence gives immediate benefits but isn't good in the long term
Positive encouragement can give immediate benefits but is definite in the long term
...
So overall always go with violence
The Imperium does that and it's doing fine
Clearly

If violence works, why fix it?
...so I decided to use something called reddit-wrapped
basically uses ai to summarize your reddit account (already an insult tbh) and then roast you
Some highlights of mine include
"They're probably writing a fanfic about a Slaaneshi Imperial Fist right now, and honestly, we're a little scared."
"Your Warhammer 40k comments are so grimdark that even Nurgle thinks you need to lighten up. Try smiling for once, the galaxy is already doomed."
So if you have a reddit account that you use uh
see what fucking results you get
Haven't really posted to reddit in years but accurate enough I suppose
"Your models are so heavily weathered they look like they've actually been through the Horus Heresy"
💀
Damn that actually looks really good man
Much appreciated
yeah to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if you cover these things in authentic sand from a abandoned mine

Traveled to a war zone.
Figurines in his pocket.
Killed a man.
"I need the dust for my 40k figures"

I think that's valid
that seems to be what happened with your castigator
that was a muddy affair
kill jerk and absorb his skills by eating his heart

Thanks, I hate it 💀 (though had some things I did not really understand why
alr it was kinda humorous
Seem like it only read what you posted. I haven't comment on reddit often enough that it only show me stuff from 10 years ago.
I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!I hate AI!
holy shit this terminator looks badass
looks like a robot doe
No terminators there 😄
The larger one is a dreadnought
Contemptor dreadnoughts unfamiliar to you?
they're the more common variant during the heresy
ive said like a million times - dont care about marines at all
dont know shit for the most part
I see I see
especially heresy time
like bro, so ancient
who cares bruh
the time is now old man
let go
No slight was intended, just a genuine question
didnt know "old man" is a compliment for you

meant this
oh I presumed you meant the paintjob lmao, no the dread is GW design
nm then...

What an exchange...
Cheers
homelander i think, laser sight
True.
No idea how much Immortal can tank though
He did manage to take some hits from a distracted Omni-Man
can you sex

The problem with Immortal is that he needs an actual W to define how much he can tank
And the man literally just loses so much that even if I try to be a nerd and powerscale him
I can't because he keeps taking Ls
The only time he got a W is when he killed innocent civilians

...I guess him and Homelander have that in common
Immortal can tank quite well for a super hero, but far from Homelander power.
Though he has insane regeneration capacity, even if there is 1 piece of him, he can come back.
I finished Invincible comics years ago.
Considering Queen Maeve (in the show), somebody who is in a much lower power class compared to Homelander.
Managed to injure him and even temporarily make him deaf in one ear by shoving a metal stick in his earholes
I definitely think Immortal can beat him due to him probably being far more experienced in combat
If he doesn't suddenly get crippled by the writers

Yes, Immortal can come back again and again so he can learn more about the weakness of his opponents. Dude has Deadpool level of generation. Though his physical is about as strong as Capt America or Spiderman.
I don't want to spoil too much of the comic in case you or anyone haven't seen it yet.
I read it dw but I get it man.
Still kinda feel disappointed about how Immortal is handled in the show... which is the same as the comics lmao
Like you'd expect a man to have lived through human history to know some wisdom
...
Then again that goes the same for the Emperor so...

Capt America or Spiderman.
Comic wise I think they're 2 different levels, it's just that Spiderman is holding back quite a lot
Although tbf at least the Emperor is like
"Oh holy shit, this was like 10000 years ago"
Refers to events in human history, etc. etc
Like I kinda wish Immortal did that at least
yeah spidey can humble rhino on a bad day
Capt America always holds back as well.
if he stops holding back
Also it's implied that Immortal basically hid in-between being Lincoln and being in the trenches.
Bro should've at least stayed to repeal the Jim Crow laws ongod

Capt can sustain way more physical punishment. The time that spiderman in 616 was because of a surprise attack.
According to Marvel themselves, he can casually lift around 10 tons.
However, he also fucking lifted like
The entire Daily Bugle Building AKA a fucking skyscraper
He didn't do it casually though
Yeah ik
More just that we really don't know the limit
If that makes any sense
Also was it really the whole ass building or just a part that had crumbled on top of him
The whole ass building. He was basically the only support beam
The man basically has the ability to like
Just fucking donut all of his rogues gallery tbh
But with great power comes great responsibility yadayadayada
And he has a fuck ton of power
Comic, fantasy and fiction are not well known for consistency.
Yeah overall powerscaling is kinda pointless considering that
It all depends on the writer
thus you should stop talking about it
Dw I'm not gonna threaten your family for saying that Guilliman can beat Omni-Man

Captain America not holding back can do some stupid feat as well.
I always find it funny in general that everytime Captain America like
Mildly disagrees with the government
I won't be saying that because comparing different universes is pointless when both follow different rules
They instantly try to kill him
Typical relationship between government and the military.
I mostly compare the same dimension. In this case the 616.
"Hey, maybe you shouldn't send superheroes who don't agree to the registry to a prison that makes Guantanamo Bay look like a daycare-"
"HE'S A TRAITOR SHOOT HIM!"
The Civil War event was weird and the MCU version in general was much better
And the prison thing wasn't an exaggeration.
Literally was described to have a high suicide rate
Like people killing themselves in cells

Time to go back to your cell. You can do power scaling there.
Don't "huh" me.
Fun fact about Morbius.
Basically in the Spiderman 90's cartoon... he appeared.

Yes, I watched that show.
But basically due to TV censors being strict. They couldn't actually have him suck blood or even bite people
So...
Back in the early 2000s.
hand suck
Nipple suction
It takes 5 to 10 seconds, depending on the size, before getting to the blood.
Actually a good example of censorship inspiring some creative ideas tbh
Marvel Rival getting Morbius and having it be a Strategist and a full on meme
Seriously those hole hands made me realize that I have trypophobia
I'm having bad insomnia... I don't know why I think of those shit.
Especially when it's on skin and shit
why visiting it anyway
Looking at Solar Aux stuff
It happens randomly here and there
Stupid 403…
oh that's probably an issue from your end
are you on company internet or something
vpn maybe
etc
Managed to clear cache and got it working, thx

would have been better if it was like the dudes from SG atlantis
mmm smoke
It's obviously the smoking remains of a recently destroyed titan
I wouldn't be surprised if it were a random smoke stack on a larger base for some center piece model
á la Avatar of Khaine
yeah definitely
damn
Lmao hes giving her the VT2 Chaos Wastes treatment
he know his ass is basically gonna get crinkled in a fight so he uses manipulation
the fallen brain rot has taken hold of this man execute him
I love love love belakor
Calgar body guards
Ladies and gentlemen we have a stage 4 space marine fan syndrome here get ready euthanasia

I really really want Belakor to be involved with every tide games. Each time he has been pulling some strings, either on the side of the horde, or of the players
Bro is desperate for power
4 crackheads kill belakor
i'm gonna be honest, he will probably lose to a player level darktide striketeam
Oh god yeah
Then again havoc 30s make me shart
I just need him to have ptsd of the U5 when we see 4 Ogryn punching their ways through hordes of Cultists
But not True death of course
i mean yeah but it's still gonna be embarrassing
how are you gonna let 4 homeless guys with fancy gear beat you up
i have not tried havoc because i am not that insane
i'm already as locked in as i can get in auric
it's even worse than true death, he'll get punched to death every time he comes back
his own endless cycle of torture
Havoc high level is aids mostly because theres a modifier that reduces invuln windows between shots
Actually i forget what it does one sec
Basically gunners will destroy your anus so most groups stack toughness buffs
Some maps have ridiculous chokepoints because of it too
Any area with a long stretch of open air becomes no mans land
Basically forces you to run a very very specific type of build to succeed huh
I run volley fire vet or peril edge psyker because im a masochist
And i heard playing Ogryn is absolutely hell in that mode
Yeah you basically get gunned down
A single shotgun blast from a elite can kill you

you got like 60 shields and barely any hp, its very funny
Crusher overhead will oneshot you through your wounds 🫠
Yeah the enemies can deal so much damage they can absolutely obliterate you through wounds
Yeah i've seen some videos of like the human classes absolutely folding the moment a crusher hit lands on them
There's a good reason why people call it the winds of magic of darktide
Yeah pretty much. I still need to do it to get the armor set but have been distracted and not focused on darktide right now
As much as i would love them on my costume library being a mostly solo player i do not want to break my head
havoc 40 is unfair to knife zealot running 6 rooms ahead of teammates
knife zealot running 6 rooms ahead of teammates is unfair to me
be faster
when I get there he already died
I repeat myself
Yeah enemy melee attacks do corruption
Poxwalkers do half a martyrdom wound
Good morning lore chat
Me with the string cheese in my fridge at 2 am
I miss the art of that era somewhat.
We dont have as many artists really worthy of that kind of status currently
Lewis Jones is like the top one, after him it kinda flickers on/off lol
Is child soldiers a thing in the imperium of man?
Absoultely
Yes
White shields are around 16 years old
Space Marine neophytes are like, 12
There's a reason Sparta didn't survive.
They had guts but that was about it
(and are also extremely oversaturated in media)
Pro tip: Don't kill your offspring while insisting on an ethnostate and also getting into constant wars.
its fine at least we got gerard butler and his homoerotic adventures out of it
Even trade, I suppose.
We apparently also do not like talking about that part.
i love this channel
So I take it that it would also be the reason why cherubs are considered cybernetics?
If it makes you feel any better, they were vat grown specifically to be cherubs. Usually.
Technically speaking, they were never alive.
except when they arent
We also apparently do not like to talk about that.
So how does that work? Are not all machines required to have a human brain in it?
Yeah. AI is super illegal so every advanced computer is actually a human brain
Normal computers are probably just normal computers
Cherubs are vat-grown aka organic meat and got a basic processor in them that allows basic commands.
they dont have a human brain
No lol
They can have basic functions like a roomba, the brain thing is for shit like servitors and some other items, it depends.
Imagine if the only way they had of computing data was a human brain. Every personal computer will occasionally glitch out and start typing out a stream of consciousness and the IT guy is basically also a neurosurgeon.
Buddy Drew what he envisioned the inquisitorial warband from his weird ass dreams, he's color blind so we still need to fix the colors to be correct but
I would so be turned into a servitor eventually
We all would
I would joke too much
Tbh
Apparently it was only intended to happen to criminals but nowadays it's considered an honor.
HUH
Well it kinda depends where your from or the situation of being a servitor or servo dkull
Whoops, you weren't pius enough, you don't get to be labotomized and wired with augmetics as a murder-butler for the next hundred years. Too bad.
👆
Wasn't Pontius Glaw made into a servo skull for helping Eisenhorn?
I’d love to make my enemies servitors
anything you do even the most baseless thing can be taken as a "criminal" offense
Unless your a tech priest or a skitari or something it's a fate worse than death
Eisenhorn keeps not killing his biggest rivals
Yea but imagine being a sex servitor
I'd rather not
Who then come back as even bigger rivals
Eisenhorn returned to Cinchare and offered Pontius a trade: he would have Magos Bure construct a mechanical body for Pontius to inhabit, in exchange for any information that he might provide on Daemonhosts
Ok quagmire
Being a regular servitor is bad enough, I don't want to think about being some sick noble's foot fetish device.
Why get a servitor for that anyways, real people are probably a better choice anyways
Sorry m'lord, we had to restrain the sex servitor again this morning. We caught it trying to crawl into the incinerator again.
Bleak
I still remember a scene in Bequin Pariah. She keeps seeing and hearing children throughout the book, gets to Glaw's decendent Alice, and hears the children again. She's like "are there children here?" and Alice was like how did you know, but she was talking about Teke, an astartes of Emperor's Children, and not what Bequin was hearing.
It was a
moment
But that beats having to chant a writ of activation before every use
Most people will take that over working with a living human being
Jeff bazos.
I cannot believe this is a real convo were having right now
Where did my life go so wrog
Now I'm just getting reminded of Altered Carbon, where everyone consciousness is stored in a chip in their neck and after death it can be replanted into another body and you keep living, so Rich people will literally pay someone to let them beat them to death and then put their chip in a new body so they didn't technically kill someone.
I mean yes?
why do you expect awful people to have common sense
Fair enough
we got people IRL abusing their servants because "its okay i pay them"
This universe has orks, where what they believe ends up being true, we can entertain decisions on being a servo skull

Well that depends. See, some people believe that it starts at conception.
I believe that somewhere around the second trimester is where it really starts.
LOL
Nah age like 6 is where everything started to spiral.
All answers are true enough, I suppose.
Servo skulls aren't servitors
there's a difference
They aren't?
I mean
This is important info
Shush lackey
Servitors are a punishment
Servo Skulls are also usually made from dead people rather than alive
yeah that also
Oh boy I can't wait until Amazon patents my brain patterns and can infinitely copy my consciousness into vat grown bodies so that I can work endlessly to pay off the debt of my subscription.
using the original persons brain matter is tech heresy
but its also violated like
a surprising amount
Dude said servitors are a honor somehow
Tech priests get sentinemntal, and they try to cobble their friend back together
I still don't see it
servitors arent' an honor
That's because you're sane.
^^^^^^
Remember that to these people, eternal service is a good thing.
Do they retain the memory of the dead person
It depends
No
well
not unless someone uses the original brain matter
which you are not supposed to do
lol
On rare occasions
See darktide when the medicae servitors sometimes wake up
The Roomba has breached containment
What if you save the life of one of those people who have insane memory and learning skills, before their brain decays
I forgot what they're called
Nerds
The process does not always result in full loss of consciousness and they can still heal. Throw in the potential for warp fuckery.
Send a tech adept to corral it back into the factorium
A savant*
ye thats the one
Aemos was Eisenhorn's savant
Depends on your definition of save, really
Could you save their brain and make them a servo skull
😌
most dont because they lack the resources and authority
Would they retain who they are
Eisenhorn can because hes a Memequisitor
depends on how much brain you saved
it depends
Making servitors is more an art than a science as fucked up as that is
Body died, brain perfectly in tact
Also they'd act like they got dementia half the time
The most abundant object in the 40k Universe, Dependium
Cheaper than keeping the criminals around
Well that also depends
no
especially on what servitor you are making
criminals are way cheaper labor
lol
Tech thralls are also cheaper then servitors
if you don't want to lobotomize a fucker
Eisenhorn doesn't care about trivial things like practicality, extravagant waste of resources, the well-being of his friends and loved ones, morality, the laws of reality, ethics in general or the customs of space amazons.
Servitors cost resources to make and maintain, the organic bits still need calories and the metal bits need oil
I think he cares about his friends more than most
He's got more important things to do
Ravenor does too
All evidence to the contrary.
He put Bequin in suspended animation knowing she was gonna die without it
Context: They are escaping from a world having fallen to the Tyranids.
So they left the things that tyrannids care about in exchange for saving something they don't care about
Brilliant.
they chose their literal tax reports over ppl lmao
on ships
Also yeah remember they are literally slaves the admech doesnt care about lol
Those were the top one percent
Like it's not even said to be crucial data
Yeah
You know, the useful ones
it's mind numbing paperwork

all knowledge is sacred
Menials I think you mean calorie source
pre-servitors
The accumulated data for the last thousand years of tax returns > 8.5 billion lives
it's stupidly evil in the best way possible
There was a recent warhammer plus episode about that
They took all the ammo from some guardsmen and delivered it only to then destroy it
^
Yeah thats administratum
the mechanicus would probably just shoot it all at a wall or something
Same kind of evil
they're the worst Imperium sub-faction evil wise and that's saying something
Dont forget why they destroyed said recovered ammo btw.
The structural pillars couldnt hold up more cargo in a planet covered by fucking cargo platforms
Liquidfy the remaining populice of the forge world and dry it out for ration blocks so they take up less space and then you can sell the rations for some more archotech
they pretty much are the most sociopathic people in the imperium
who only really care about those close to them, and even then barely for a vast majority off them
They could have requested to take the ammo back but by the time the paperwork was processed, the platform would have collapsed
meaning Dark Mechanicum is number 1 most evil in the setting
Nah
Darkmech are literally the same as admech
only difference is they use daemons
LOL
so worse
That's arguably better
I dojn't know, Dark elves exist
lmao god sakes
yeah but those are ayyyliens
we are talking in human- well "human" parameters
Oh right. All xenos are the same
all look the same to me
Daemons deserve to be tortured so I can eat warm bread
In that case. Hmm... The High lords?
High Lords are too casual evil
we need more goofier shit
this definitely is one example
The difference between the dark mechanicum and adeptus mechanicus is one uses more slaves then the other
You keep moving the goal posts. I declare you as most evil
like if we account sheer human suffering
the mechanicus is more evil
if we count like
the quantity of human suffering expierenced per person
yeah but that's because dark mechanicum tiny
Their entire planets also essentially move on slave labor
I'd say the Inquisition but they actually tend to be a net gain for humanity
the dark mechanicum tortures much harder
for their funny rituals
and weird flesh metal
if they had acess to the resources the mechanicus has
the mechanicus just has way more slaves to torture
The most evil person in imperium is arguably the abritrators
Isn’t this the plot of that one smash character
Chorfs aint got shit on the mechanicus
or dark mechanicum
Wtf did you have that so fast

Oh
also the way its worded
its like legit U.S cop mentality
theyr'e talking to a dead body
LOL
like
they're literally talking to someone they've shot
"If you were innocent, you would be guilty of wasting my time. Thankfully, god did not stop me so you are guilty. Case closed."
in eisenhorn the arbites guy talks like an 80's cop it's quite funny
shut
do you think the menials

put recaff
🙀
yes
god i hate that line so much

repetitive as shit
Eisenhorn is a hero
cant beat-
Ignore all the dead bodies
THIS IS DA LOIFE
what are you talking about
NUFFIN BEDDAAAH
Finally?
I was never sane
she just likes muffins
ogryn players when 2 nodes are moved
they got drain bamage
me when any talent tree is updated
i dont even realize talents exist half the time
too lazy to pick my talents again on every single loadouts
which is why fatshakr should never update any tree ever again
the best part
fatshark gives a headsup
me: eh ill save later
never does
"FUCK"
i have on more than one occasion went into damnation with no talents
jay....
I never save my skill trees

she must be put in the pain chamber until she regains her sanity
Each and every set up is the result of a unique symptom of my brain parasties, and shall not be repeated.

Chaos Dwarves
Y'know maybe I should make like
A meme that's basically in the style of a 90s drug PSA
"Maybe I should try a little bit of Chaos..."
BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM
"NOT. EVEN. ONCE."
That type of shit

You guys think genestealers really are or were on atoma?
Seriously Anti Drug PSAs were fucking wild
Genestealers are like herpes
Yeah probably

I really should look into more of there lore, there's alot of environmental storytelling in datktide...
And I love that
My favorite is "HYPER SEXUAL INSECTOID COMMUNISTS!?" - Imperial governors discovering cults.
Basically
Genestealer infection starts with the Genestealer. A special Tyranid type who's job it is to infiltrate worlds and weaken it for the Tyranids next meal.
They often go after the most numerous race on the planet. And most of the time that's human beings. They essentially "kiss" them. Basically infecting their DNA to follow the Tyranids will.
Atm nothing really confirm or point to GSC in particular, there might be some, but there might also not
Inknow the basics, I wanna look more deeply into them
This then starts uh
This cycle
Yeah, wr have our hands full as is.
The W&G module about Darktide does not point to GSC either, but does let the DW/GW have GSCultist as random encounters
So is the patriarch the one genestealer that managed to infect someone, or is it the first newborn of the infected?
TLDR; "You need to hang up that computer call. Come over here and kiss me on my hot mouth. I'm feeling R O M A N T I C A L ."
- Random Genestealer
The very first Genestealer
Interesting
Patriarch do the kissing and create the cult
5th Gen Genestealers usually look slightly different compared to the Patriarch.
Maybe they have a human skin tone for example.
Still can be romantical so

Actually want to make a nutshell of factions.
...and unintentionally contribute to the circlejerk of surface level 40k memes
But it would be fun
For the record, current lore is that Genestealers infect humans via the tongue specifically to deliver the “Genestealer’s kiss”.
It removes the more…seriously uncomfortable…part of the imagery, but still plenty uncomfortable of course.
The Orks would just be the Britain football riots but with them recolored to green
Funny how Orks and Titans are both inspired by drunken people…
That's more uncomfortable it means they fucking tongue kiss you.
They expect tongue all the time bruh

They're getting FREAKIER
I mean, some people find getting violated down there worse, y’know, before GW just codified it to be tongue only.
Yeah true
Also ew

The tongue imagery does keep it in line with Alien facehuggers, but as always, the subtext is there enough - but without crossing too deep of a line
Now I'm imagining a Genestealer being extremely fucking awkward.
"Now listen. I'm just going to kiss you. This isn't like a sexual thing or anything. I swear it isn't- I'm just infecting you to join the Hivemind."
"... you're not convinced. Okay listen-"
Pulls out a chart
I mean, if they were operating on a Slaanesh corrupted world
That might actually work as a reprieve.
Remember, in the Grimderpness of Warhammer 40,000, any bad option can be made into a good option if the current situation is a worse option 🤣
Overall the kiss works better considering that
Even ignoring how gross it was.
It would take longer to uh... yk. Instead of just kissing them
Like it makes sense in terms of optimization

I sound even more insane than usual
Yea, definitely. Well, for initial infection anyways.
I assume infected humans do have to do it normally.
(…and THAT is where we dive right back fucking down the full blown unfortunate implications!)
A Genestealer infects somebody but they don't do shit because they're still extremely awkward and anti social
Oh my god, I can see this now.
40k anime.
“A Genestealer infected me but I am still socially awkward, so the Hive Mind is now giving me dating advice”
"Listen. You need to get out there and infect somebody already."
"No. I just wanna play Vidya games."
"You are... literally infected by my DNA."
"People are scary."
"I swear to the hive..."
I think it also switched to kissing
Yea but it’s academic since regardless of how the Stealer DNA is passed, a … cylindrical object…still has to enter…a cave… for a baby to happen in the human womb :p
"HOW ARE YOU STILL SOCIALLY AWKWARD. YOUR DNA HAS LITERALLY BEEN EDITED. YOU SHOULD NOT BE FEELING THIS WAY."
"...but I hate talking to people."
"AAAAA-"
You can just say that they need to fuck. Why trying to write it like some erotic novels?
Cause it's symbolic instead of actually fucking
Kissing still puts thing in hole but it's slightly less gross than actually fucking
I know SMs can get infected by Genestealers but has any like
Actually been fully infected.
I remember a case but they managed to resist long enough to fucking kill themselves
I don’t think so thus far.
The ones we see infected are able to resist it but they are debilitated
They were fully infected as much as we’ll ever see
Though, the SM can't reproduce, so they can't get pass the 1st gen of GSC.
The stories kinda weird but they’re all dead now so, that’s that
Not clear if it would affect their geneseed and yeah, they can’t reproduce so
Dang.
Had the idea of an SM Genestealer Cultist
I guess if they freely give in then?
Hey man, my mom reads my discord chats! 👶
Idk, you can do what you want but they’re the example we have
Like just
"Letting go" so to speak
Or is it an automatic process of the body?
That has previoulsy happened iirc
They were able to resist it, it still froze them up
Like are they resisting because of like "sheer force of will"
Or is it biology
That’s what we’re talking about
Or both
I don’t think it’s clear, the Patriarch is just able to stop them from shooting it and freeze them up
They’re more resistant but it has some control
Just not full
Just read the Great Work tbh, I believe that’s the book with it
Found the excerpt that I remember.
Ovipositor impregnation,’ intoned Darioq-Grendh’al.
‘What is the machine speaking of?’ asked Khalaxis.
‘I don’t know,’ replied Marduk.
‘Source: Magos Biologis Atticus Fane, Lectures of Xenos Bioligae, 872.M40, Consultation of Nicae, Tenebria, Q.389.V.IX. Ref.MBim274.ch.impttck. The xenos subject species, genus Corporaptor, observed implanting gene-template into body of host,’ said Darioq-Grendh’al. ‘Override of genetic coding documented. Bio-gene-splicing observed. Conclusion: Corporaptor Hominis overrides genetic makeup of host species, dominating upper cerebral cortex functions. Speculation: Corporaptor Hominis a vanguard species, locating and suppressing indigenous populations. Genetic corruption of local species suspected as a method of drawing Hive Fleet to suitable prey-worlds.’
The three Word Bearers looked blankly at the corrupted magos.
‘Potential reversal of implanted host species’ gene-corruption: nil,’ concluded Darioq-Grendh’al.
‘Gene-corruption,’ murmured Marduk.
‘The machine babbles nonsense,’ growled Khalaxis.
‘Speak more clearly, Darioq-Drak’shal,’ said Marduk, ‘perhaps in words that we might understand.’
‘It is believed that the genestealers infiltrate potential prey-worlds for the tyranid xenos species to feed upon,’ intoned the magos. ‘They infect the populace, and some believe that the collective control they exert over those bearing their genetic coding acts as a psychic beacon, drawing the organic Hive Fleets to those worlds where the beacon burns strongest.’
‘And you say this… implant attack that Rhamel has suffered is altering his genetic coding?’ asked Marduk.
‘That is correct, master.’
‘The bodies of the warriors of Lorgar are sacred temples, for in them we bear the mark of Lorgar. From his genome were we created,’ said Marduk, ‘and such a… corruption is an abomination.’
The First Acolyte looked at Rhamel, who grimaced as another wave of pain shot through him.
‘You understand what must be done, Brother Rhamel,’ said Marduk. It was a statement, not a question.
‘I understand, my lord,’ said Rhamel through gritted teeth, and the warrior dropped to his knees before the First Acolyte.
‘What if the machine is wrong?’ asked Khalaxis. ‘Could not the chirurgeons on the Infidus Diabolus reverse this corruption?’
‘The machine is not wrong, brother,’ said Rhamel. ‘I can feel it working within me, changing me. Let me pass with honour, my brother.’
From Dark Disciple
Rhamel implies that if he let it. It would eventually change him to follow the Genestealer creed instead of Chaos
There’s actually another one too I believe
Weirdly enough, I totally forgot that one
But there’s a more recent one
It’s funny, so much happens on those Word Bearer books
The other one is the Scythes in the Great World I believe
Uhm actually
Dark Disciple is a Star Wars book about Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Voss
My foot is gonna be a Dark Disciple of your ass
and then the Dark Disciple Discipled Darkly all over the place
Me when im writing a sci-fi book with a generic title and my opponent is a 40k book
"What should we name the book about Krieg?"
"Uhhh Krieg™️?"
Craig
Kreg
Huh I imagine Word Bearers would have a weird hate boner for GS now lol
Or random Latin
what is the name of the movie this is from?
Parabellum for John Wick 3…
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
very good movie
i remember that scene and nothing else it has driven me crazy
thank you
I mocked up a 40k short story and just called it “Solus Deus”
(Para Bellum = “prepare for war” in Latin.)
I only know that from playing For Honor
better than nothing
if it was anyone else they'd name it like
"The Dark Angel"
I don’t know how the fuck you pronounce kregg krieg
Also he’s not really warlike
He’s a FUCKING NERD
shut the fuck up nerd JEEZ
The 40k fanfic I always had in mind is…
“The God, The False, and The Four Armed.”
No prizes for guessing the factions involved
Imperium, chaos, gsc cults
"Hmm... What should we call this book about Magnus."
"The Crimson King"
"Perfect"
THAT I dont mind
They called his battle force box
but then its like
Court of the crimson king
"A Thousand Sons"
their name still confuses me because at that the time didnt they have way more than 1000 SMs?
Well, when a chaos space marine and a gene stealer love each other very much….
auaUGHHGHH
They started with 1k
Its symbolic!!!
It grew past that
also yeah the name just stuck
^
ah ok
Might even set the Imperial faction to be SoB specific if I am to keep very on brand lol
The name was back when they were the smallest legion
its not like they adhere to the codex astartes 🤓
So it was like
There's like over 200 hundred 40k books too I think
Lionel Johnson moment
Way more than 200
Somewhat of a self depricating name
AIN'T NO WAY
If we include short stories
Yeah Shorts included
if not theres deffo beyond 1k
And novellas
Yes way, GW itself goes back to the 70s/80s
novellas are novels anyway
GW are OLD
You won’t believe this, but the Emperors Children are not actually the offspring of the Emperor.
novellas are novels but you read them with a spanish accent or something idk
And oddly enough, tied to D&D ever so briefly, being their UK distributor when they started
oh no i know the story behind that, never looked into the Tson's name is all
it's funny when people try to argue 40k stole from Dune. It's like sure, but 40k didn't stop with the lore and they keep building on the universe
Iron Hands technically have an adamantium and ceramite polymer they make their hands with, it’s not actually iron.
Dune just quit
Everything is a lie
40k absolutely stole from Dune
like, that has never been disputed
also like
GW even admits to 40K being a mishmash
Dune is literally the grandfather of sci-fi
If what they liked
lol
It’s more accurate to say 40k stole from everything but, most importantly, put its own satirical spin (or an at least semi original) take on things
thats the exact same argument as dnd stole from LOTR
They took from a lot of stuff, it’s easier to find early sci fi they didn’t take from
LOTR/Dune inspired both seperate warhammer settings in a lot of ways
ofc it fucking did
Like women

DnD deffo got more wild with it
drow
40k is addictive tbh. Once you read the right books, there's no quitting
Yeah thats because you are new
you feel overwhelmed and hyped
you'll hit a point eventually

eberron drow>the other dnd drow
Idk man im just here for the ladies
How long does the new title last
Eberron>
Title as in?
love my giant made slave race
Like I've been a fan for a few years
facts
Uhhh probably once you can name all 40,000 warhammers
just a better setting for dnd over all

Do you want to skin someone alive
I'll never be not new...
Faerun is fine
Goddamit Ed
