so saying that i trust the forged guy doesn't seem that crazy now
Space Marines and Stormcast are both just the 'easy to paint' faction, nothing more, noting less
People like the aesthetic.
Extremely based take.

Rare reddit argument where the person asked me where they could find better sources after I corrected them, truly a blessed day.
I still cannot ever get over how nobody even here can read the lexi
I think my favorite posts are though these ones
"Theres no way the Imperium is this terrible right guys? I just imagined this passage 𼴠"
I mean to be fair, from a technical point of view they are asking HTF it even functions.
bro if GW follows their suggestions the setting would immediately be fixed with how much common sense the imperium developed
like I said before the Imperium is the actual summary of that one Arkham subreddit meme
"Are they stupid?"
A better way to put it isâŚ
âHow the fuck has the Macraggeâs Honour not crashed from catastrophic fault due to crew onyl sleeping for 4 hours!?â
Which is a much more reasonable ask than saying âdid I read this rightâ lol
Its that and I read this book
the people in here do the menial work
its not exactly the important core functions of the ship lol
so did the iron hands and iron warriors ever come to blow on the fact they both had iron in the name of were they chill
My fucking floor scrubber fell asleep, the ship's gonna crash and burn
Funni how we actually do go back to âso Reddit people canât readââŚ
They wereâŚsurprisingly chill about that fact, oddly enough.
Mind you they still hate each other like Traitors and Loyalists would.
They were too lazy to make a copyright claim so they just resorted to artillery instead.
its unfortunately a very common running joke for a reason
like a SINGLE lexi skim read can answer most questions people have
there should be a successor chapter called Dark Blood Angels and no-one knows who's successor they are
We did get a good post today though.
Even if people are being dumb in it.
is it because it has Iron Hands in it
That makes most posts better so

It doesn't hurt
i wonder what types food the imperium have
smooth brained redditor goes reddit
normal people use google
ork juice
Both legions know getting artillery shells through the bureaucracy is far easier compared to filing a lawsuit and getting that to go throughâŚ
i used that reasoning when i shot that kid for taking the PS5 on Black Friday court did not side with me
But actually come to think of itâŚ
If one does run an Iron Hands/Iron Warriors joint HH army, it makes a very weird kind of brutal thematic sense.
IW are âpelt legionnaires at wallâ, and IH are âabsolute logic calculationsâ types
Regardless of whether this joint force is loyalist or traitor, their approach is bound to be fucking brutal
I had a homebrew idea for a Blackshield Iron Hands/Iron Warriors warband called the Reforged or Iron Forged or something.
Its been a minute.
Ironborn would have been better but
Heh
Some fat fuck took that
Yes sadly there will also be lost of GoT jokes
I would prefer to just run 2 detachments, but then again, I donât think their alliance matrix works out well, so low synergy lol
Iirc the idea was an Iron Father and Warsmith dual leaders, with them working to churn out inductii and press ganging IA into their little crusade.
Nice
Inductii are still one of the funniest things in HH and im glad they are a thing
its also another great example of like
its an idea if you said and it wasnt official people would go "nah thats dumb as hell and doesnt make sense"
but when GW does it its "ah yes, this makes perfect sense"
Warhammer Moment
Yes
No
I love the Exorcists
I mean, to be fair, lorewise I feel it makes sense.
Nah it does
Theyd be the dumbest fucking homebrew ever
Oh right
Same. They are like Grey Knights who donât murder their allies afterwards!
People are free to homebrew stupid stuff.
Well
I will just mock it
lets say "free"
but yes
as long as you dont do IDF marines i wont judge you too much

âŚyea ok THAT is just asking for troubleâŚ
Not touching that one
My cousin had suggested Ferrari Marines (he is into cars) đ
To be fair
Beat him
And tell him to just do Red Talons
Also when Forgeworld quietly implied Red Scorpions were Wehrmacht Marines way back whenâŚ
the genetic purity stuff is great ngl
makes the readings of their lore funny as fuck

Big W of having the honor of being drawn by Kopinski
fat fuck
Ah yes the last great thing out of Forgeworld before it got killed off.
A Leviathan Dreadnought Chapter MasterâŚ
hey ive seen worse
I dunno most of these schmucks never read it
they basically only know vraks
instead of, oh I donât know, the actual fucking Necron codex.
Just cliff notes, badly done ones
i remember when i told people vraks is like 3 encyclopedias long
and they were like "what"
common Alan Bligh W
No they only know âhuurrr Nazi Trenchcoat boysâ
LOL
I mean
okay yeah not too far from the truth
the funny part is you can also ACTUALLY read these online too
its all copy pasted to the fucking wiki
so theres no "oh i cant get the books anymore" excuse
âWell I CANâT READâ
-average Reddit fan

Ah crap no gif of the Russian Badger take on âI canât readâ
lmfao
I will not stand for illiterate hate, the favourite person you know (me) might be illiterate
BUT YOU READ BOOKS
i wasn't taught independent thinking in school đŚ
barely!
bro has the B1 Droid mentality
dyslectic gang rise up
that's an insult to B1 Droids
they say so themselves!
"We're independant thinkers."
"Roger."
"Roger."
"Roger."

they're just vocal stimming..
Good grief itâs like those right wing NPC memesâŚ
Okay B2's are based
I get almost a vague second of secondhand embarrassment when someone whines about not getting taught something simple in school
you're an adult, you jezebel of a woman, look it up
but you should watch those wrist rockets
SHUT UP
we've captured the enemy command post
jerk, shove yourself in a Shrine Anchorite
remember when star war was cool
andor season 2 is coming, soon it'll be cool again
if Luthen is a jedi im fucking done
Andor was good in spite of star war, wild
if i can run an army with unlimited budget i would definitely run the seperatist droid army
they all sucked
and the show about like
CASSIAN
WHO
ANDOR
someone ends up being THE peak
that's a nice planet you got there it would be a shame if i throw enough droids at it
it drowns in metal
i think the last sith character i ever liked was that old due in ahsoka
and his actor fucking died straight after
says a lot honestly

kreia was right about the force, kill the stupid thing
dont wory about him
no you don't
KK: âinstructions unclear, more OP girl sues and lightsabers!â
George Lucas was dumb as fuck but he had funny ideas
you speak like he died
The man knew how to marketize toys for kids
He's dead to me
I meant "won" as in laughing making money lol
this is my personal favorite SW Character
fair enough
meant Sigsen
damn it
That cannot be DroidpoolâŚ
it's not it's mr bones
Dilara always making everything about herself...
aughhh-
a highly modified illegal battle droid
Comes with illegal combat data from people like general grievous
don't worry he's a good guy
my favourite star war character is my old ttrpg mandalorian who became a discount general grievous, followed by general grievous
That sounds like a kid's fanfic OC
Pretty low caliber for star wars chars
You can't say that about Mister Bones
Yeah that's a pretty low thing for Star Wars characters
I guess star wars is for kids
deep down every character is an OC
lots to think about
some just more stolen than others
Did you know all words are made up
yeah by Dan Abnett
yeah by you, the reader
(whos gay)

"My commissar has an ork arm he cut off and implanted into himself from a nob"

and a big hat
does old man yaoi with the nob he stole the hand
AAAUGH-
i love ork books by Brooks but i don't need to say anything really
maybe he was born with it, maybe it was makebelieve*
*drukharii inflation drug
And apparently by GW's word he's in the top three ork Characters
yeah the way they worded esteemed likes of Ghazghkull Thraka, Ufthak Blackhawk, and â soon â Mad Dok Grotsnik.
means that they acknowledge that he's popular enough to be mention next to Ghazghkull Thraka
Which is unfortunately not a high bar to meet because not a lot of ork book characters are around
I wish
Its mostly just empty marketing talk, dont worry
warcom does it a lot

You're bisexual
yeah I think that but like really now i love brooks but putting Ulfthak next Ghazghkull is like putting eternal next to Guiliman
I was gonna make a joke
but i legit do not know the names of any IH characters
hold on
Anatolia Godolkin sounds good
FUCK
guh
you assplode too much
13 years of warhammer
real
you know what they say in the warhammers
unforgiven
if the emperor was so smart why did he never make a blank primarch
Uhhhhh
something-something he'd see it as (convenient plot reason here]
Canât even spell it right when itâs in the image smh
I know I was making a joke shut up
also the name "godolkin" has been absolutely ruined by Ennis for me so đ
Well that book came first so he stole it
But then again everything about the Boys is kinda ripped off
Kinda?
I could buy the explanation that a blank primarch would've been impossible to produce given how warp stuff was used to create them
yeah that works
In the 1st place you would probably need to alter the formula so much in order to accommodate blank powers
It's oldhammer but actually a pretty kickass book tbh
Someone converted a Gdolkin to look like the old book cover, it's really sick.
Also one of the earliest references that actually has the complete phrase "the flesh is week, but deeds endure", iirc
mfw
dude's facing away from the fighting to pose for the picture
"oldhammer" imo is always rogue trader era
mid 2000's 40k books are still based af and largely never conflict with anything since they are always self-contained stories
Id count 2nd ed as well
yeah but nobody was alive back then its fine

am I wrong
for the first time in forever Jerk has no retort to Dilara
aren't you old enough to contradict that
my favourite gifs aren't loading and I can't react anything appropriate
I'm ruined
@arctic talon question how are Wrecka krews in killteam
Hereâs a review if you want some detailed thoughts
The main consensus seems to be itâs best to buy two so you can keep the selection flexible
And that itâs very solid
I didn't know that I was chatting to a bot using a dead person's likeness.
hmm i see
it's so ugly, I love it
âWear your nice clothes hun â
Ikr
and hell yeah more Weta stuff
they released these a couple years back as well, I wore it to my sisters wedding
this is cool though
That's a SM things ?
Consul is a catchall term for many specialized character ranks
but yes marine stuff
Yeah that, well i hope people like it i guess
anyway onto more important matters

lovely

They've turned them into the marketable plushies
true, but it's still first and fore most a space marine brawl setting
The ultimate tragedy.
now they have Youtooz too?
sheesh GW sure is willing to spend some more money for these things
wonder when they'll release twomad's ghost youtooz
ghost
oh yeah the displate thing
say less
Noice
Merchandising!
I'd wear it to the gym
I mean it was a good bit, you can give me that
OK so these ones are recognizable characters
Character encyclopedia pog
Take a sneak peek at two must-have forthcoming Warhammer x DK books. Coming in October, Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopedia features profiles of more than 120 characters from the 41st Millennium, from legendary Primarchs, both loyalist and traitor, to enigmatic Phoenix Lords and brutal Warbosses. And November sees the release of The Art of W...
who is this
yeah so who is the character they decided to stick the name for
i recognize the four i have no idea who this one is
I love the gaint realistic replica of the loon king
3rd company captain for white scars
Bloody Green Grots always getting the good stuff
Are you gonna wear this during sex
I think it would look great in my post modern living room
i swear you people are poisoning GW with magical mushrooms
Yes and I will be throat singing while plowing somebody full blown adult style
Oh shit I didn't know the cover art had a wideshot
@shadow plover genuine question for someone who paints are you planning to get the wicked brick display case for minis?
I did plan on getting the original wicked brick releases or some of them but the price was way too high and I presume these will be too expensive as well
because I'd have to pay customs + vat as well
yeah GW premium quality
Wuhh how
on pc how
I mean the price would be fine if I were to live in the UK
but with the added tax it's ass
Guess it's slow content rolllout
Technology....
stop whining!
Mobile only?
im on PC
Wait wait wait
A Horus Heresy Roleplay
Like OK not exactly great to RP edgy teenaged boys with massive daddy and grandaddy issues
But still

The description is neat
OK there ARE human side characters
anything's possible
See in curious if like
But still primarily players being a Consul
I already got people on servers im in also saying they'll modify their games to have human players with marine players as well
so its not that surprising
Nice
kinda surprised theres like 3 different spots im in saying this lol
then again like
HH very much turns into a normal RPG where you treat any random enemy marine you come across as a non-threat/henchman to kill
so its essentially just playing humans-but-bigger

yeah cubicle 7 to be fair is pretty good at making their systems
but sometimes you just need a bit of modification to make them more tolerable
True, thereâs hundreds of thousands of marines you can kill as many as you want
Good grief imagine, how immature it would be if some people start doing "no gurlz allowed signs" for their HH RP groups...
Wait.

i am gonna kill you for reminding me they do that
HH definitely does a "good" job of simplying the Marine/Marine conflict to like a generic fight of Good Guys vs Bad Guys Hordes lol
lol
Y you killing the messenger đŚ
I was reading this HH anthology. and the like last story was just a group of marines going down into a hive world and all of them just dying in waves
Mhm
the enemy traitor astartes may as well be just mindless goons
If its successful which it will 100% be it'll happen
Definitely
Maybe actually show GC Imperium is not as spazzed up as it was, which is sorely needed actually
it should have a primarch expansion
I will play as the 2nd primarch

My name
Primarch expansion is peak DM going "No you are not playing as a Primarch."
Darius
Primarch RP won't work
Because everyone will just off Erebus as soon as the session starts...
he'll manage to slink away with his funky little blade
truly the greatest marine character
You thought you killed Erebus. But s it turns out, he is in a different cruiser.
Hes not even a character
hes just a plot device
and hes perfect
"Hi guys im here int his random HH novel to be a slimey asshole and ruin everything"
"Wow gee thanks Erebus!"
lierally all his apppearances
there should be more erebus in 40k
Ikr, hes sorely needed
i also appreciated how childishly mad the fandom gets at him
all we get is the old fart Kor Farton
Should have 40k era rules.
He is canonically still alive and active.
Word Bearers are not devoted to a single chaos god
so on tabletop they kinda dont matter
minus like having rules i guess lol
yeeee
My favorite depiction of Kor
Ever
hes SOYYINGGGGG
Are you prepare d
Yes
Good so all the important options
Can just stop there
Awful
Dweeb
I think some people should have less money, someone do my lgs has 600 dollars of stormcast dragons and heâs just, gonna get rid of it
Like, the dragon unit 13 times
Well he does sound dumb
Spending money is how you get less money though
I suggested he picks up crypt born so he can play the dragon army of renown and he was like âI should do that but Iâm just gonna get rid of themâ
If he sells some for a good price I might pick up a unit
guy has alot of money it seems
Lmao
Like unless you are very rich you will never hear someone say I'm just gonna throw away these expensive plastic crack
Ooooh this comic
I got a PDF of it online
Roberts' art is so good but im not surprised they did this only once lol
god knows how long this shit took to draw
Mhmmmm
I really do wish they did a DA one tho
I wouldâve LOVED all the helmet designs it wouldâve given me
Alas, close but no fallen
Thereâs so many good ones in this
Yep I could hear him screaming like a pirate alrightâŚ
i mean yeah fair
its an old book
But poggers
its set in like the old version of the 13th back crusade
2004 was end of 3rd/start of 4th edition wewww
Why do you have a Mag gif
god DAMN i love gay people
i dont understand these memes but i respect their right to exist
Very confusing
The gays seem to like it, whatever it is
She is SO ME
Im excited for that game to come out
How is my fellow plastic buyers at this fine unit of time
Next month Iâm so excited
Not bad
Pretty good
Its been how long since it was first announced?
3 years?
trying to understand femtanyl and currently realizing how this is literally just bottom music which is why i dont get it
Barely 3 years
Christ
there's an ena holiday?
Yes
I didnt even know there was an ENA day
It was 5 days ago
i just know ena from once in a lifetime references
Itâs every February 23rd
Thatâs why the release date was revealed that day
Need⌠need⌠need
Kinda waiting for Friday to end so I can just forget all things work related for 2 days
I'm thinking about my old job in archaeology and I miss it
what are the projects about mag
sigsen lore
Jewish Antisemetism, and 2 chem projects
that's quite a list
chemistry is the actual devil manifest
I was lucky the teacher gave me an extension
Imagine is math didnât make sense
Thatâs chem
the worst part is how fun it is outside school
chemistry teachers have negative charisma
mole is the dumbest unit of measurement
isn't it mol
I have to do my chem hw on this stupid AI homework thing
whatever I hates chemistry
all i remember from highschool chemistry is doing decimals and unit precisions
for like half the class
I've had one good chemistry teacher and he was a former artilleryman in the army, every class he'd just be drinking out of the coffee thermos
i failed that class and never had to take chemistry again in college
and hopefully never will again
material sciences is where it's at
I hate physics
you disappoint me
although introductory nuclear physics was fun but regardless
All I remember from uni physics classes is the endless maths
that's probably because university physics is so far away from actually doing experiments
which is the entire point of physics
You spend your whole studies doing the math by hand and in the end it's all done by the computer
And check data
I think it occurs to me that I can't stand maths or physics because my math teacher sucked rancid ass. He'd walk around class asking people if they were stupid if they got things wrong
analyzing data is what you'll be doing the most outside school with physics
Did he threw chalk at you?
No, he'd just berate you for sucking shit and make you present your wrong math in front of everyone
"i don't know, are you?"
What a shitty teacher
At least he had funny stories about hemorrhoids I suppose
university professors have a chip on their shoulder a lot of the time
academia is a circlejerk
I was also busy manifesting a mental illness so I was not doing well to begin with
At least I got through the whole ordeal
not neurotypical or slightly autistic? skill issue clearly
Nay, the bot will censor it but it begins with s and ends with chizotypical
It was a huge blunder and skill issue on my part
just study harder
I should redo classes and get some archaeology related classes you're right
jokes aside i love archeologists they usually seem to enjoy what they do
also it's such a cool job title
We'd just sit in a coldass field looking at old long dead people while eating pastries, it was pleasant
So I'm doing some research into Knight pilots becoming inquisitors and the community seems to think it wouldnt be possible. They claim a knight wouldn't be a good fit because all they could do is heavy assaults but that's just simply not true. Knights would be very good at navigating high society given the amount of court culture in knight worlds.
Being an Inquisitor isn't all knives in the shadows or heavy assaults. There's a lot more that goes into rooting out the enemies of mankind. Besides nobody would even have to know the knight is an Inquisitor. A free blade would be perfect cover for a more concealed Inquisitor. Who's gonna really question when a knight complement shows up. Besides anything said Inquisitor wouldn't be able to do directly, that's what the retinue is for
Theoretically possible, but we've yet to see an instance of it as far as I know and it'd be unlikely to happen. But hey, if you want it in a story just come up with a good enough explanation
I can see a freeblade ending up with inquisitorial ties though
100 percent
I just don't see why most the community thinks a knight would lack the skills or cunning to be an Inquisitor. Do they not know what goes on in high courts. Theres plenty of intrigue and backstabbing and rooting ot enemies
Itâs not impossible, just unlikely
those reasons are bullshit. an inquisitor can have any type of approach and there's many different personalities. those people should read eisenhorn.
An issue i would see with a knight inquisitor is usually inquisitors are brought into training very young and knight houses would have a conflict of interest there since pilots are valued.
Whatâs much more likely is theyâd have the knight in their retinue
Yeah but free blades exist
Just so you know knights have manual controls
Freeblades still grow up in the system
would the knight become an inquisitor and then become a knight or the other way around? you can't have both extreme trainings at the same time
In addition to their mind link shit
Knight becomes an Inquisitor
Iâd say the other way around
Itâs extremely unlikely, imo itâs a much better fit to have them be part of a retinue
so they'd have to voluntarily want to become an inquisitor, something that is not common
But itâs homebrew, itâs up to you
This kind of career crossing doesn't happen a lot, but you just need what three other inquisitors to sign off on it. If you really want it, go for it
They trained an assassin for months just to be ready to control the knight
everything is possible in 40k but you'll need to have some extra explanations for the knight inquisitor backstory for it to make sense
Also like, imo
The question to me, outside of being able to pilot a knight, what can they do any other noble can't
Being an inquisitor is interesting enough
also you will inevitably have
's trying to tell you you're wrong
Id write a backstory to make it make sense and there would be difficultlys in doing so for me and the character
a thing inquisitors tend to do is adopt habits and customs of people they have in their retinue. there's a random inquisitor in eisenhorn who dresses exactly like a cadian officer because they're stationed on cadia. you could have an inquisitor who works with knights a lot and then end up looking like one
and who knows, maybe your inquisitor was born super lucky and has the biology to be able to use knights. you could find a way for them to gain so much trust of a knight house that they end up training them in using a knight, inquisitors can have access to ridiculous amounts of gear if you want them
i see that being more likely than a knight randomly wanting to be an inquisitor
Well it wouldn't be random
It would be there path took them into the inquisition and after doing work for them for so long they worked there way up the organization into becoming an Inquisitor
Wouldn't be a spur of the moment choicr
that would take a huge amount of time
What could a Knight Pilot be able to give to a future Inquisitor.
What could a Noble be able to give to a future Inquisitor.
that would work but it feels contrived to me. your character will inevitably be like 200 years old
The moment you have to keep reminding yourself lots of IoM high ranking members are actually geriatrics.
What if they adopt the habit of the salamanders?
the time it takes to become a knight, then become freelance, then work your way up to becoming an inquisitor instead of using rich connections... so much time for a backstory
@near wasp This is basically what you should keep in mind.
Ive seen way goofier stuff in the lore compared to something like this too tbh, just have a good enough explanation and it really is not that weird.
I mean, I imagine there will be Inquisitors who prefer Marine philosophy/ideology over Ecclesiarchal ones.
But then they would be labelled Radicals. Probably.
Given revue treatments and augments exist being 200 years old isn't that much of a stretch
Or any other bullshit FYI
From salamander to inquisitor?
No the original proposal he made lol
to me it would be much more fun to have an inquisitor become able to pilot a knight and work alongside knights. you can write about so many adventures they had. an inquisitor's peon is kind of just boring imo
Nono it was just a goofy idea I had
That being said just because you can doesnât mean you should
Hector Rex is canon
Hector Rex is also a stupid ass character
oh no don't take this as me saying they'll be too old, i'm just saying your character will have most of their backstory being a knight who tries to be an inquisitor. it's a big career change
That one guy that doesn't die because the Orks believes he doesn't
No
Not how it work
Shhh

Bad meme, bad lore, bad old joke
Hah
anyway now have your OC having met a primarch.
Im just saying what if they give him a flamethrower and put him in the heaviest populated ork planet no reinforcement just him
the great thing about an inquisitor character is how flexible you can make their career. you can do whatever the hell you want with them.
He dies
If we want to really consider how to roleplay a Knight who became an Inquisitor:
- Superior tactical abilities
- Hand to hand combat
- Good relations to certain Knight families (being able to field some Knights)
- Good relations to the IG (Past involvement with it)
- Good relations to the Admech
- Bad relation to the Ecclesiarchy
- Bad relation to the Astra Telepatica
^ good examples
"mary sue" seeming OC ideas work better when you apply a lot of negatives to it as well
Well yeah
will a knight really be good at combat outside their mech?
I mean, the acolyte in Rogue TraderâŚ
Yeah
Isn't that what you're supposed to do?
Was a Knight World dude who became an Inquisitor
The Knight family train outside of the Knight combat
Well yeah they'd be trained for it
They have been trained in melee combat since basically birth
they'd be trained but they won't have a lot of experience right
I mean no
theres also no standard template for a pilot
some will have no experience
others can be trained just incase
Peasant revolts
Put the nobles on the front lines and scream "F you"
they are rich people, its up to them lol
Maybe the guy knew a key family secret to solving an Inquisitorâs case
Im sorry I meme too much
still that's just training. a crusty old cadian sergeant will have the experience even if very little training
The point being, for any normal human being.
If you have a particular skill set OR a particularly unique knowledge that can help an Inquisitor.
They will conscript you.
I mean
what if the knight pilot is also gene-enhanced
alright fine i'll shut up
Yeah but getting a golden ticket would kind of ruin the hard work it'd take imo
They can, you do realise that many Inquisitor come from background where many people like them aren't suited for being Inquisitors
we're talking about a knight who spent most of their life working their way up to becoming an inquisitor
"oh no the entire planet is getting overrun what do I do? Artillery fire? No no just blow up the planet"
So who would seek special trainings
You just have to be spotted by the inquisitor groomer
A la eisenhorn/wheelchairman
as far as im aware a knight doesnt truly pilot until they're an adult
I find it a bit more likely said Knight is already from a Household with close ties with the Inquisition, and then one day a random Inquisitor X was like âyo hey dude I noticed you might actually be better served as an Inquisitor, would you like to try?â
The guy says yes.
That feels Mary Sue tho
then how will they be trained as a knight
If you know you know
Or maybe they unexpectedly developed psychic powers as a seasoned adult Knight pilot in which case they WILL be dragged away from their Knight life, become a sanctioned psyker, THEN join the Inquisition.
also as joseph said they want the knight to be a freelancer first and then join a retinue
not become an inquisitor the standard child indoctrination way
Edited my suggestion :p
Talk about grabbing em when they're a kid then exposing them to leading when they dunno shi about it? YES
psyker knight inquisitor, now they're really collecting all the perks
But itâs oddly possible, weirdly enough. People developing psychic powers is a thing, and Rogue Trader game outright confirms it can happen to Knight Pilots via the Acolyteâs backstory.
Might aswell say they've had close encounters with the chaos gods đĽłđĽł
Yeah no reason to add psyker stuff in
im just spitting what sounds cool
That's even more Mary sue
so like i know the imperial navy exist but does an actual like water navy branch still exist
do they still be boating and shit
everything is possible but when your character has that many rare cases people will just laugh at you
Well the point being a seasoned adult Knight pilot CAN be made to be dragged away from that life into the Inquisition instead. I just used psyker as the most extreme example.
There is water planets so the probability is there
Can I 100% guarantee? Hell no but gotta guard em somehow
Maybe the guy saw the Grey Knights and the Ordo Malleus Inquisitor doesnât want to off him.
Iirc those usually belong to the Pdf, but the IG have some Naval specialized regiments (Moebian 21st are amphibious regiments iirc)
Again: justâŚfind a detail that works, there are perfectly reasonable reasons for a Knight pilot to be forced out of a life of Knight piloting and into the Inquisitionâs service.
Even if I made bad examples, the point is it can be done.
Boat!? BOAT!? SHES A SHIP LAD!
orks had a submarine even, i think it had a model
Yeah its expensive on my last research
i keep repeating that everything is possible, that's not the point here
do space marines have amphibious capabilities i know they can walk ocean beds etc but is their a way for them to be able to fight in water unless its at the very bottom
would power weapons be able to function under water effectively
in soul drinkers they immediately sink to the bottom of the ocean with their armour on. same happens in fulgrim when they attack the sex snake planet
Their hover tanks should be able to do so
Sex snake planet hah
best way to describe that shithole
also land raider is noted to be able to function underwater
so they fought avy lmaos
makes sense for a vehicle able to function in space
is their a guard regiment known specifically for specifically defensive fighting
defending
That will depend based on water or land
all of them
The ones from Terra maybe ?
the water related questions are on hold for now
Krieg are entrenching minded too
all guard regiments are defenders first and foremost
Already too many to name off
except maybe weirdos like elysians
Yes but they do attack just in a defense style
well obviously any of them can defend and attack but i was meaning are any extra reputable to the likes of how imperial fist are seen as the guys youd rlly want if youre defending something
go on any regiment lexi page and check out how many time defending is mentioned
it's their main thing
But thanks for the help fellas I've got a pretty good idea what to do for a backstory.
Def gonna avoid them being a Mary sue
all of this is based on what others will think of your character btw, you can write whatever you want
how long do servitors usually last
cadia lost their planet while defending idk
i can't think of any regiment that is particularly known for defending more than others
krieg are siegers, they attack a lot too
Just saying if I'm defending I want a salamander on my side.. totally don't wanna watch enemy burn
if you want a military force that pretty much only defends then make up a PDF unit
defending is part of the name
a horus heresy era militia works too and that actually has rules for it
my valhallan army is very defensive because i made them that way. i love soviet defense tactics so much
Mind you, you can make a PDF with a Guard Codex even if dumbass GW shot themselves in the foot with only 3 famous regiments
still no conscripts, literally unplayable
Just only have commissars and techpriests, no auxiliaries or stromtrooper equivalents
And boom, PDF
GW sour about conscript tarpits slowing the likes of Guilliman and Angron
the famous 1000 dice rolls per turn army, the friendship killer
âI donât need to win or kill you, I just need to keep you tied down and committed to this close combat against 100+ conscripts until the game ends.â
"the quantity over quality army cannot have quantity or else the 100 competitive players will stop buying models every day"
Again, sad that GW decided to bend the knee to the WAAC crowd
it's them who will buy models every time rules are changed
just wait for the 40 year old comp players to die of diabetes so GW can focus on something else
lol
I have already decided to just collect Imperial Agents to tickle my inner desires.
I have kind of given up on the concept of being able to build a good army in a reasonable amount of time before GW tosses everything out the windows again for a new edition.
Near end of 10th I will get the Agents Codex, Boarding action book, and the points index at that time and just use that as a collection guide.
if it's not primaris space marines you should expect it to be temporarily not legends
would be nice of GW to publish their model lifetime charts but then people won't buy them 2 months before they're retired
And that is the the reason why Imperial Agents did win me over.
Navis Breachers are relatively fresh enough that I can pace out my purchases without fearing it being obsoleted by production
Also Solar Aux for Voidsmen at Arms means they are likely around for a long time too
arent those just rebranded killteam units
As much as it is, the models will be consistently around is what I am saying
No getting hammered like the Firstborn range
people were pissed at primaris refresh because it was like the first time astartes players had to deal with what non astartes players deal with all the time, is my theory
I would say it is worse. The utter size difference and the actual rules difference just exacerbates the matter
Your comparison is a wee bit off because before that, even if the models changed, they were still mostly the same scale
And only had minor rules changes
No âha ha firstborn squads all completely suck nowâ
can't you just field firstborn as primaris
i refuse to listen to anybody who complains about primaris being slightly bigger, that's pure nostalgia cope
old space marine models are inferior to primaris in design, quality, detailing and even usage on the board
I mean, okay, fair, some people do in fact do that.
But my slightly OCD self likes them at the same bloody height and style.
Might as well just re-instate the legion structure insteadâŚ
Like, look, if they did Primaris one squad at a time,I guess people would take it better.
the funny thing is HH tactical marines are almost the same height as primaris now but you didn't see people complain about it because muh primaris
I doubt they are the same sizeâŚ
The lady I checked, they are same as Deathwatch minis
And those are smaller than Primaris.
i have them right next to eachother they're nearly identical in height
you might be thinking of the older mark 4
those models are firstborns in design clearly
but newer models got shadow primaris'd
and imo they look much better
Ok see if it was just a scale up like that? Annoying but fine.
I guess I am still sour because I had been waiting to start my hobby for almost a decade in HK but then when I did start it Primaris just changed evyethting.
So yea, sorry, no buenos for Primaris from me, I know I am probably perosnallu biased but I donât care
So long as I live and breathe I will never buy a Primaris miniature :p
dont get me wrong primaris is still bullshit since it was clearly meant to force people to buy more boxes for stuff that tactical squads already did
Pretty much
It was a very interesting way of introducing them
but getting rid of firstborn rules makes sense if they were dead set on primaris. it would be too much
they didn't want firstborn to have more stuff to play with, they just wanted to get rid of how flexible tactical marines are
i dont mind primaris except phonos armor fuck phobos armor
and model wise i'm happy. it's like the entire discussion about primaris was focused on the models which is such a dumb thing to be mad about when there's actually good reasons
arguing about nostalgia is ridiculous when people like me have only known about the setting post-primaris. non of that matters to me
Gw killed conscripts because they didn't have a mini
or rather that was their explanation
which whatever I guess
lol
the mini was regular trooper
also regarding this firstborn squads are good rules wise often, so like thats not even true rules wise
like arguing that Primaris were better rules wise is just false
lol
because firstborn squads have been and are good
if you think their introduction sucked sure, I get that
but like meh
i just genuinely dont get how somebody who started playing post primaris would buy the firstborn models
i dont know anybody who does who hasn't been playing since the 2000's
I am prehistoric(I started in 7e)
Its like
a vast majority of people
did not get into 40k until post primaris lol
like, not throwing shade, not saying its bad they got in post primaris
its just true statistically, 40k was way smaller pre 8e
yes i know i missed the period when things were better
well
I don't
lol
things are better now more then ever
regarding support from GW
and them actually giving a shit
but going in without nostalgia, primaris models just look better
hell no man i hear of the time you could afford armies as this mythical era
This is that period
there's some stuff on firstborn I like more, but I do like primaris things
It's been a while but I don't remember a lot of good
Youâre in the good times
You can afford armies rn
wdym
GW prices are way lower then inflation
lol
Itâs hard to stress how bad it was
Its
absurd how bad it was lol
the only good part was how cheap stuff was
but that was because of like
People have the rosiest fucking glasses ever
not inflation
People also got like
no idea how fucking bad mid/early 2000's warhammer was
40k almost died like what
yeah
4 times?
LOL
LOL
like, to give you an idea

Kids these days donât know how good they have it
deserved honestly
also the infamous "we are a toy company not a model company"
i'll be honest im so glad i got into HH after everything was expensive shitty resin
The updates weâre receiving now
Thereâs a fuckin KROOT army
To be fair, that is not wrong.
But like, dont say this to your fanbase
LMAO
but you arren't going to be putting warhammer
Squats are back
Yeah it has its own toy section
Fucking genestealers got a huge line
I love my plastic toy soldiers lol
lmfao
also yeah
If you had told someone
back in 7e
that they were going to make genestealers an army
and Sisters of battle would be all plastic
Itâd be really weird if you did that now
Since Toys R Us doesnât exist
dont forget custodes
now all we need is an iron hand revitalization
since back then their lore was just
they were mariens but bettereer
and like that was it
But updating SoB? who needs Genestealers, just proxy with a guard army, ect.
like idk
i agree the selection is better but i look at old rules and i wish some were still available
That is understandable but like
and also when i got in things were shitty, things have gotten good in the last 3 years
no
things have been good
since you've gotten in I feel
for a guard player i mean
