well if doom was actually a lot more sane he would actually accomplish basically anything
in an alternate reality he fixed everything in the world
after forgiving reed
but unfortunately the doom gotta doom
I need to get into the Monster Hunter series with an actual Monster Hunter i've only been playing stories
Play wilds
Damn I love scarab beetles
its good
yeah I'm thinking of that's gonna be my entrance to the series I just probably need to turn down every setting of graphics to the lowest it can go
my PC is struggling
Then you can have an insect glaive
I KNOWWW
and tell your scarab kinesect to harvest drugs extracts
i would probably go hammer no surprise it is literally
a giant hammer
but wilds can gonna bring you multiple weapons so
i can then have the heavy bow gun for the true ork build
Hammer is fun
Yeah but then you can't power clash smh
Don't you want to literally be stronger then a dragon like 10x your size
true
what weapon is that
powerclashes can occur with any weapon with a block/guard system
so gun lance
so Greatsword, gunlance, lance, heavy bowgun, chargeblade and sword and shield
my favorite weapons are heavy bow gun, gunlance and hammer
how many can you bring in a hunt in wilds
because you can weapon switch which is a first in the series
2 weapons
One primary
one backup on your mount
your chicken seikrt can hold onto whatever weapon is inactive
so i can do the american build with primary gunlance and a machine gun velociraptor
lol
aight i'm in
they made gunlance not feel like shit to use
the raptor is not like my kushala but it will do
oops too big
welp
Tbh I like the new focus attack mechanics
mostly because the animations are all really cool lol
i will miss my good friend
lol
I'm glad MH wilds
isn't keeping the Rise Kinesect system
I really enjoy kinsect rearing
wyvern riding seems fun though
you basically have the craft it in the older games right
yeah you craft them + feed them stuff
well
"craft"
but yeah it interacts with the forge system despite it in lore being the same bug that you're like
giving armor/food to lol aside from the base tier ones
yeah probably the most consistent use of creatures in warhammer
lol
Someone found the insect and decided to combine them with a glaive in that world
the bloody madman somehow did it and i respect him
The kinesects are domesticated animals and the end of the insect glaive has a big pouch of like kinesect pheromones to help give orders
Domesticated animals need to be more common in Monster Hunter
i'm glad we are getting our own velociraptor rise has the rideable dog
ice borne also added the
taming of small monsters in the field
mhm
tbh does the dog even count as an animal
like
its as smart as a human like Palicos lol
the Serkit is an actual animal, same with the kinsects
yeah fair point
yeah it seems like a very very smart animal
i mean i guess i would consider them another race
yeah so i would consider the dogs as like another race i guess
but they willingly let themselves be ridden into battle
even with the danger of the fact that you are hunting a giant monster
yeah because its their fuckin job lol
What's the velociraptor called again
the one we're getting in wilds
Seikret
yeah the only actually animal intelligence creature we are getting
yeah
besides the kinsect
Its literally a giant bird lol
well
lizard bird thing
dinosaur
its got feathers
yeah it's literally a velociraptor
but bigger and looks more like an actual
bird
oh yeah i forgot
wind drakes are also domesticated right
OK so we have a beetle a velociraptor and a giant wing pterodactyl
we also use herbivores for transport and stuff
what
just dragon?
no elder
Well
its not classified as an elder dragon techncially
Wilds is the first time its been run into
and its species is extinct
so uh.........
presumably its classified as an Elder dragon level thing
are they pulling frontier on us
A so-called extinct thing but apparently it's just wandering around in this place
history is
I mean
its classified as extinct because theres bones that resemble it
and its the only known living member
idk maybe there will be more
maybe story wise its just one
who the fuck knows lol
I find it highly unlikely its the final boss since its on the main cover
are you talking about the one with like the rock whips
attach on its arms
so this is the dragon type monster that's only called apparently a dragon
Not a flying wyvern or something
Its referred to as a Wyvern
Chain Blade Wyvern is the given nickname
point being its an unknown/unclassified species
thats potentially extinct aside from the one in game
but it would look so good on my skin
so sorry research team i'm going to have to wear it and turn its spine into a gun
tbh
you are being ordered to kill it
for one reason or another
I'd assume story wise its so extremely dangerous it has to go even if its the last of its kind
to be fair the researchers way of dealing with the creature is kill first dissect later
I mean yeah
how many times have we seen a new elder dragon and we decide to
well
skin it immediately
i shanked it with sharp metal stick and then blew up its insides
good job
ngl I wonder if there's going to be a proper gathering hub in wilds
since the camp is no offense
a shithole lol
like thats obviously the point that its super not developed
but it would be nice if there was something that was like actually like nice and not a total adhoc thing
like an outpost or something that you can stop by
Idk
Airship maybe
since there's so much focus on roaming the Gathering hub being an airship would be cool
yeah let's just hope that they can deal with the somehow random thunderstorms
it would be neat if story wise this wasn't the middle of bumfuck nowhere
Like they thought this place was uninhabited by people ๐
@queen laurel I've got a good question for you, what do you think the most common Elder Dragon is population wise
hmm
i don't know
nergi ?
he kinda acts like the elder dragon balance
so i would not be surprise if there's plenty of him around
I think its Kirin
for one reason
there's an ingredient for cooking in MH3 called Kirin butter
as in they milked a Kirin for milk
and its not like some super rare one either
either that or Chamelos since like
its a giant chamelon that eats plants
its also a dragon but don't worry about that
how the fuck do you milk a kirin
a kirin, the horse fast enough to literally run so fast it becomes lightning
people of monster hunter something else
idk maybe some are friendly
maybe
https://youtu.be/Azn6r5wTd48?si=WoRbcorI8vs4klm4 this actually looks pretty good i'm not gonna lie
โ๏ธ Gunlance โ๏ธ
Unrelenting explosions combined with a staunch shield create a combo that's a blast for hunters!
Drill a path towards victory by exploiting weak points with Focus Mode.
Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to PlayStationยฎ5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2025!
Official website
https://www.monsterhunter.com/wilds/
Follow Monster Hun...
I do think that Chameleos is prolly the most common elder dragon
it literally eats trees
the only reason you get told to kill any is because they're eating too many trees LOL
yeah it would definitely help with the rampant growth of some of the environments in Monster Hunter
Its fun tbh
at least it looks fun
because there are literally monsters that can affect the growth of plant life
Chameleos's last apperance was rise/sunbreak
wonder if it'll be in WIlds
funny invisble dragon
you think they're throwing my favorite Tiger trex back in wilds
after all he's kind of just
invades every place he wanders into
goofy creature
maybe
It was in the last 2 titles
actually it hasn't missed a fucking game since 4U lol
so I'd say yeah its got a high chance of showing up
and to be honest even if he doesn't show up i wouldn't mind
because apparently gravolos is back
the armored ******* that has just every type of gas for some reason
thanks basarios you just needed to be a literal chemical warfare specialist
I do like how wilds is just
kind of picking whatever from the grab bag
we probably are never seeing the water based monsters again though lol
they plenty of frontier options
if this zogger can get in a lot of them can
I wonder if any of the larger creatures meat is edible
i want to eat rathalos meat
spicy wyvern ribs
yeah imagine biting something like
Tigrex meat
the muscle structure of the bloody thing would probably make it too gamey
๐ฅ
the airships are a new world invention iirc
the commision made them sepecifically because it was so hard to get into the inner regions
oh wait no there was the one made in 4u
never played that one so no idea what happened to the airship in it
Iirc theres a cutscene where valstrax fucks with an airship too
Or mightve been astalos? It was def in mh gen
Cant wait for wilds though, hbg and swaxe look like theyre gonna be peak
What are we, some kind of Horus heresy
as a HBG main i am so so so happy with wild's changes to it
the fact it's clash is literally just us shoving the barrel down he monster's throat or into its face and pulling the trigger is just peak
Its cinema
The focus shot is a bit boring though
And im def gonna miss crouching shot from sunbreak
This line actually makes me want to vomit
In an alternate universe it was
"This is no longer Dorn's lie, It is his Deception"
Is it heresy back in 30k? I thought the imperial truth still reigned back then
when do you cross the line between being a lil silly and serving a chaos god
Can you be a degenerate without being influenced by slaneesh
or be a gladiator who slaughters everything without khorne
and once in service of a choas god is it ever possible to walk away
When you start serving the god
Save via death not really
so you need to consciously choose to
are there examples where people go "no thanks" after they have chosen to serve
Usually when they die horribly
Yeah it sucks a lot for them.
Not my honorably Rogue Trader!
the moment u start making poop paintings
Even then it's not a fool proof way
Or the God revive you
Has there ever been a time a chaos cultist turns their back on their god and just lets go of the chaos life?
I guess that one Daemonblood story might count
or from what I can read, Requiem Infernal
Gaunt's Ghosts has a major character who did this.
I dont see how you ever repent or come back from that, when just knowing you touched chaos will get you a bullet in the head
Watching Creature Commandos for first time after watching a bunch of clips on youtube, I REALLY like the Princess' VA
I dunno why, but the eastern european accent is kinda sexy
Creature Commandos is peak
also agreed on the second statement
SHES SO SEXY
Anyway Im enjoying this
I wasnt expecting the high guard of the princess to be strangely good natured tbh
Same, they are like himbo space marines ๐
lmao
I think they'd be really funny and nice to be around
eastern european accents sounds like bike theft according to life experiences
Oooof
LOL
my bike is somewhere in russia now ๐
Id make a joke but current day stuff so
YOO guys check out this bike i bought today
c'est la vie, just know when Russian sailors come to port lock up your outdoor things
but you might also be able to buy an AK
i legit love
how authentic this picture is
the shitty reailings
the shitty apartment wall paint
the shitty stone stairs
the shitty wall heater
god
Pure soul
oh you mean
"Home..."
Oh that's the shit with the glowing skeleton, is it good or is it just memes?
Its James Gunn
aka automatic peak
highly recommend it
Also I hope you enjoy going through the effects of the classic Gunn'isms that is:
"Gunn you better not make me headbang and download a song I never heard of before again."
He does it
"Fuck"
I've only seen his Scooby Doo stuff
holy shit you are missing out
have you watched anything he did
in the last 10 years

Why does this random old lady have a smoking hot man as her background
๐ ๐ ๐
ngl
the most accurate part

LMAO
Damn thats pretty funny
My favorite part is also the classic eastern europe vibe
Every place is shit
such a mood
i remember having Billy Herington on my phone wallpaper for 1 day cause haha funi
well then i realised it was dumb and i switched back to my Frostpunk poster wallpaper
Could've had both
oh i also had the female guardsman art on my wallpaper
for like a week
i think you know what im talking about
I donโt
this sexy bitch
lmaooo
Oh
minka lensk
So I just got to THAT reveal in Rogue Trader during Void Shadows with the Genestealers and
MAAAAAAAAN
Fuck

Feels bad man
Yep
Wait which one
Act 4
im dumb i may have missed it
no i did act 4, can you spoiler-tell me just to be sure
||Einrich is a Genestealer||
AH yeah
HE WAS SO SEXY AS WELL
Fucking genestealers
LITERAL MECHANIC BOYFRIEND
He had a wig....
The googles were crazy
Damn
I knew as well
Nothing we could do
Genestealers are mega fucked
Mentally
Yeah lol
Poor bastard
Wonder how the wig was stuck on
He didnโt have a chance at a normal life
Tbh
Was born one
Eh he probably stapled it
From birth he was a slave to the goddamn tyranids
Lol
Sigh
Fucking tyranids man
I GUESS
^
But I was nice to them!!!!
Yeah
Yeah uh
Unfortunately uh
GLORY TO THE 4 ARMED EMPEROR
yeah no like
From birth
Oh no heโs great
He was completely enslaved
i get genestealer cults when like,
||einrich|| is genuinely
you see what society they grow up in
A good character imo
aka imperium
Until the end he still calls you a tyrant
also this yeah, the fact that the reveal hurts goes to show you actually cared about him
Partly true but
Also partly his brain parasite
You are a tyrant
Tbf
Youโre just a benevolent one
Iโm a O K tyrant
^
I try ok
Void Shadows is such a banger itโs insane
Now granted heโs also like
A deranged cultist
But still, he makes valid points and is well written
How DO Genestealers work anyway?
How old are they as an evolution of the Tyranids?
Very
So how it works
And by that logic how smart ARE the tyranids?
Is a genestealer โkissesโ
A person
And when that person has kids they have a gen 1 genestealer hybrid
Then when the gen 1 hybrids have a kid
And spreads
I get that but how do the Tyranids know such subtlety?
Theyโre intelligent
Thatโs
They do stratageize
THAT intelligent?
Thatโs horrifying
Genestealers are really smart
Theyโre sapient
But most synapse nids are sentient creatures
Very smart animals
But as well utilizing the already existing imperial faith and the unrest of imperial cities?!
Thatโs like
If not sapient in the case of some bigger ones
Insane levels of subtlety
They do also try with stuff like Tau
But it fails to do as well
Since tau eugenics program
Do we have any knowledge of if the Tyranids have a BIG bad?
Not really
Unless you count the hivemind itself
But thatโs the gestalt mind of all the tyranids
^
The Hivemind is the big bad
its the supreme multi-minded "thing" that sees otu of the eyes of every single tyranid in the galaxy.
People assume nids are dumb and stupid when, they really arenโt
but its like a meeting of minds, not even a person
They just normally just
Donโt need to engage in it
They can just run shit over with sheer numbers
Yeah nids are stupid when they basically gotta act as mindless monsters for media purposes.
when theres no plot armor involvement they are super OP
theres a reason when Nids make planetfall most of the time its game over
Warzone octarius was fun
Because we got to see hive tyrants strategizing
Lol
Because the usual method of just run them over with 10 morbillion nids doesnโt work
But yeah genestealers are terrifyingly smart
Even by nid standards
They exhibit the most independent thinking by far
they basically figured out the infinite money glitch of how exploitable the human reproduction system is lol
Also getting the kiss from a genestealer
Makes you incredibly horny
Thank you for that lore GW
LOL

same its very well written
Also theyโre presented as an actual threat
Which sometimes fails to happen
@hasty coral for an example of nid intelligence
The Deathleaper is known to have been on the Missionary World of St Caspalen. The St Caspalen Planetary Defence Force became increasingly afraid as all across the world watchguards and sentries were mysteriously vanishing, only to be found days later with their brains sucked out. Soon the St Caspalen soldiers were so afraid that they were jumping at every shadow or unexplained sound. In an attempt to ease their own fears, they gave the unidentified creature the name "Deathleaper". As Hive Fleet Leviathan approached, the Deathleaper instinctively sensed that killing the planet's spiritual leader, Cardinal Salem, would only make the planet harder to devour, as it would create a martyr and steel the resolve of the people against the coming swarm. So the Deathleaper instead infiltrated the Cardinal's cathedral-bunker and slaughtered his advisors right in front him, leaving the Cardinal unharmed but drenched in the blood and viscera of his aides. The Deathleaper repeated his process for ten days, each time bypassing the ever increasing security around the Cardinal, coming within killing distance of the Cardinal but always retreating before harming him. This lead to the Cardinal becoming paranoid and eventually losing his sanity, and did more to break the morale of St Caspalen than simply executing their spiritual leader would have. When Leviathan invaded, the world was in confusion and terror and was easy prey.
Even before the DLC, that one GSC map event in Rogue Trader was peak. Even if the actual fight wasnโt tuned well.
Mhm
Its probably one of my top 40k games next to Dorktide
really hope they do Dark Heresy next
Arguably the best RPG adaptation.
Well, maybe the only one thus far, but it already takes the cake.
Imagine if they not only do that, but then make the files somehow cross compatible, like how in the original the two sectors were neighbours.
I think it gets the 40k setting to a T
It had best of 3rd edition whilst keeping the lighter tones of 10th
I mean
Best of both worlds lorewise.
Iโm not sure what you mean by that
Because 40k lore is pretty consistently the same vibe imo
Hmmโฆ.I think, oddly, itโs the narrative style
They kept the narrative tone like the 3rd edition era lore segments
But the overall arcs, events and trajectory of the story is light like 10th
Yea, as you say, those sections.

I remember being sad when it was finally over as I sad in my room at night in the dark listening to this
I mean 10th isnโt light
Iโm not sure what 10e lore youโve been reading
Good ending ost
I love the one trillion fucking slides
Lol
fr
Ok, fair, but at the same time, 10th..I donโt know, itโฆfelt a bit moreโฆpop-culture ish.
Canโt quite put my finger on it, it feels different from 3rd.
i love rogue trader
i have 100 hours in rogue trader and i still havent even beaten it
Despite the lore not having fully changed.
Itโs just more popular now
Nothing has changed in tone
Imo
post 8th edition 40k has definitely been made more accessible, I get what you mean though.
I mean I keep restarting my runs soโฆ
i keep wanting to but ive forced myself not to
People getting friction burns from primarchs

I blame Horus heresy
Speaking of
and memes
lemme check the site again
Please no
Point being 8e to 10e is just as grimdark as past editions
Imo
the tone of the setting hasnโt really changed at all
Russ
die
Yea, I think a more correct assessment would be for me to sayโฆ
I like the narrative style of 3rd edition, compared to 10th.
Even if the lore has not shifted much (post Cadia blowing up not withstanding)
Mhm
I only dislike the space wolves for one reason
Because their naming scheme is absurdly uncreative
But I also like how 10th doesnโt go off the deep end of the Grimdark like 3rd did lol.
Tbh 10th has some pretty
Hilariously excessive things
Like the entire control center crew getting killed for getting a specific access code thatโs TOP SECRET
No clue how that works
No like
Ok fair, but I mean, that still works due to Top Secret
Notโฆ3rd editionโs โImperial Navy hand loads battleship shellsโ excessive.
How do they know
The code lol
Is my point
Likeโฆ.. how the fuck does that work
I guess the cogitator just analyzes it
Tbh
And then everyone in the room gets murdered
Yes
Compliance
Anyways uhโฆโฆ.
Owlcat if you make another 40k CRPG
I will play it regardless
whats another 100 hours
Also probably make the plot slightly less deranged even though I did enjoy the plot it def stretched itself a bit thin by the end lol
Real
owlcat please put in more voice acting
They said the next game they make will have full voice work
Because BG3 for better or worse
sweet
Set a new standard
Full voice work
Is the thing Owlcat points out as like
The โstandardโ from now on
For them at least
Too bad ||he's kinda dead atm||

Did you finish the series?
I just finished episode 3
Eve Online but warhams, make that Owlcat
I do know a bunch of spoilers because I was watching a lot of clips but still
God the princess is so charming
I also love how absolutely childish Frankenstein is
I do have to rain on the parade a bit though
Our ship in Rogue Trader is far too OP
For it to be a Firestorm hull lol
Should be Light cruiser minimum
Give us a battle cruiser lol
Different ship hulls would be truly peak for Rogue Trader as well
Would be the first thing I swap out, just for the inaccuracyโฆ
^
BFG2 is also like legit great
tho i could never play the game i just watched the cutscenes, the gameplay is too confusing lol
I did the Imperium campaign, and letโs just sayโฆ
โฆeven on normal mode, you just realized that even with IoMโs infamous tendency to recruit everythingโฆ
โฆyou will never have enough to keep invasions off lol.
Battlefleet gothic armada 2
Is really good lol
So many system invasionsโฆ
Like boats
Oh
My bad lmao
Aside from the AI being total shit at Nids, eldar, space marines
Itโs very good
Ok then yea we lack a Warhammer Fantasy naval game
I know warhammer FB has a dead as hell boat game
I dunno, maybe I am just too mid or casual, but I dreaded fighting Nids in the IoM campaign lol
Didnโt it have like 4 models
Nah theyโre scary, the AI just rams with stuff not meant for ramming
So they just kill themselves
Oh lol
But yeah the AI plays nids the least bad
Out of the 3 itโs bad at
Itโs really bad at eldar and marines
Like really really really bad
Man o'war
Dreadfleet
I legit could not bother ngl
it sucks because the game's plot is LEGIT peak
a third game was gonna happen too but GW fucked it up
I had a friend that was a concept artist on the game that leaked me some of it

(she also has every single ship model from the game which was super cool)
Ngl I would have preferred it was slightly more sane
Honestly same but its also still so good
Spire is basically a gary stu but hes so likable it makes me come around to loving him
Cron one is like
legendary
its just the top form of "Necrons if they had no plot-restrictions"
๐
Crying
damn, rip stock
Honestly, he's not a gary stu on the virtue of being likeable
and also actually having a personality
thats what I mean!!!!
yes i know!!!!!
it's just that people kinda mistake mary sues or whatever for being that because they're powerful or do a bunch of bullshit
but people also forget that fiction requires a lot of bullshit for it to work at times
and also reality does as well
ffs, if the year 2025 was made into a book, people would be criticizing it for being unrealistic
unrelated gif
Y'know I just realized that Princess Bubblegum is essentially just a worse Emperor.
She even had her own version of the thunder warriors incident.
Peppermint Butler might as well be Malcador.
Even has the same mysterious dark magic vibes
They also have the same major problem. They think that they and they alone know what's best for everyone, and proceed to make it every one else's problem.
I liked how they put in actual story efforts for multiple campaigns and their victories all make sense.
The Chaos victory is sick
(The good sort of sick, not Nurgle sick lol)
"A toast... to the warmaster!"
Also the Thousand Son looking down at the table was probably like
"Bruh wtf how am i supposed to eat this shit."

Ah yes,
Also I actually admire them for just outright having the balls to make the Word Bearers a Thanos expy (in terms of appearance)
As well as the โChaos is inevitableโ line.
Yes, it is cheesy, they copied Marvel writing, but it is done in such a way it shows the devs GET 40k
Not just the lore, but the attitude.
โฆdamn now I am tempted to watch the Chaos campaign cutscenesโฆ

Also
"But you are an abomination!"
trazyn literally looks more human despite being a soulless xeno machine
holy shit the eldar AI in bfg2 is hilarious
you just park all of your ships in broadside and just wait as they kill themselves
its genuinely surreal

Thank you for watching my video, glory to the Emperor and ...
They picked a random dude, made some demon boiz possess him, then the said warp boi just picked at one dude like "yes, thats ya boi" and they gave him a SM upgrade.
...to quote an outdated ass meme
"That's how Chaos works"
that's gotta be one lucky son of a bitch
winning the lottery
the rest of the aspirants got slaughtered as well
which I question why
but then I realized
"Chaos"

More importantly as it zooms out to his throne, the floor is covered in like
blood, bones, and other shit
and I just wonder how the fuck can anybody walk around
like imagine trying to go to the table only to slip on some guts or something
also the BFG2 cinematic for the Orks are boring as shit
but the BFG1 one is perfection
The Green tide has risen! Taken from the BFG: Armada Singleplayer Campaign. This game is amazing, everyone should go play it!

we need more of that

Actually, since I have been holding onto this joke for FAR too longโฆ
I have figured out the ultimate weakness of Space Marine armour. Especially if said Marine is running.
Adamantium. Marbles.
You know the joke gags of mooks slipping and tripping on marbles?
That.
But with Marines.
Honestly I always found it fascinating that the Iron Warriors existed purely because you'd think that trenches wouldn't be good for an SM right
Like imagine how big they are for the IW
Gorge warfare.
Also stairs. Fall right through'em
also feudal planets must be hell for SMs
purely because like
well most of the castles would probably only have human sized hallways
so
they'd have to blow everything up
or slowly make a hallway through
either way not really good for combat
โฆimagine Space Vietnam.
But with the Space Marines suffering tunnel problemsโฆ
Honestly you could probably outlast SMs if you pull a vietnam.
Provided that they don't just y'know...
fucking burn the entire jungle in promethium
Then again that's probably why Catachan fighters probably think the others are pussies
Also also, not that it is easy to doโฆ
But if you manage to just slice off both hands of a Marineโฆ
โฆthey suddenly stop being a serious threat.
Imagine a smart enough Drukhari Archon that recognises thisโฆ
I mean they will do anything to kill you.
They'll just pull an armstrong and use their fucking bones as shivs
A reckon a marine throwing haymakers with stumps is still dangerous
or just spit on you since their spit is acidic
Himbo ass
Fair, and actually it kind of makes me angry GW gave them this and never uses it
tbf not really required that much
although i can imagine them escaping using it
I think I did read an excerpt about the T'au trying to interrogate an SM
I can think of one instance of the acid spit being used to escape a cell
only for the SM to spit on a water caste guy and basically got his face burned off
I mean, a surprise acid attack from Marine spit would be nice now thenโฆ
Ok at least they remember.
Also Chaos Marines (Night Lords in particular) should be using this more as well.
eh. the only way they would really be in that type of situation is if they get captured
...
try capturing an SM
ffs the t'au now has SMs on the
"KOS" list
Not really? Iโd imagine surprise blinding your opponent with spit acid would be usefulโฆ
In close quarters at any rate.
It comes up occasionally, itโs just not something theyโre doing a ton. A lot of them are wearing helmets most of the time.
Ok this is also true.
just
fucking chop them
or punch them
Thereโs at least two examples of them trying to spit in the eyes or on the visor of the other person
Also the spit is there to help them break down almost anything
The spitting acid part is just side benefit of that
if they are fighting against something that they're having trouble against, the acid spit isn't gonna help tbh
Ok true
i still find it funny that SMs literally can eat anything
"Mmmm drywall"
- random Imperial fist marine
Like there is probably at least one SM whose preferred food is something that's usually inedible
"Why are you spreading your rations on a brick?"
"I like eating bricks"
Itโs just a fun little thing some authors like to include, itโs never shown to be some amazingly effective tactic
Itโs like throwing dirt in a fight
Itโs something that happens sometimes but isnโt necessarily common
Tbh the acid should never come up like
Most of the time
Since marines normally are wearing Helmets
Yeah
In novels rather
i forgot, do custodes have that?
do custodes even need to eat?
No
Custodes are like
Weird
Theyโre upgraded humans
More then shoved stuff in like marines
I seriously find it weird that they don't have like multiple hearts
Why
or something idk
Theyโre enhanced chemically
Custodes are superhuman, SM are mutants.
โGene alchemyโ
Whatever the fuck it is
Pretty much remakes them from the ground up
IG more on like a "practical standpoint"? Like aren't they supposed to be like the peak of human form? Why didn't the Emperor add in some extra organs just in case
Custodes are more mutants than marines tbh
Because their organs are perfect to the human form
yeah ig i'm just kinda thinking about it a little bit too much.
I mean aren't both of them like
genetically edited?
Or is it like...
Custodes are rebuilt from the ground up while the SMs have a "base"\
Also, it would be funny if like the process of the custodes just has them become an adult immediately
Like they're a baby beforehand and then
poof
8+ foot tall greek statue looking ass

Custodes are thrown into some weird process as a baby that remakes them from the ground up
Marines have organs and extra parts shoved into them
Yeah I guess it's like a ship of thesus type of situation.
A marine is just the ship upgraded into a fucking ironclad one. It barely has any similarities, but it's still the same at it's "base".
While the custodes is a dinghy that's destroyed, and the few bits of wood is just thrown in there while they're making a battleship
They really arent.
Custodians are enhanced with magical alchemy while never losing their human "form" in any shape or capacity, Marines literally get purposefully mutated, organs shoved into them among many other stuff.
like this is pretty much a fact in-universe lol
Yes, theyre mutated into those forms
I guess it's how you define mutant? Specifically, the amount of genetic deviance.
A Custodes gets their biology hijacked when they're a baby. Even their souls are changed in some manner.
A Space Marine technically just has a bunch of shit shoved into them.
Theyโre completely changed into super humans
While marines have the organs grafted in, marines are mutated too
Yeah and Marines still fit the definition a lot more
They donโt, Custodes are completely mutated
They do.
Marines are less so
Where
a rarity for once admittedly
They're chemically mutated at a cellular level
Don't the custodes debate whether they're even the same person as the donated baby?
marines are mutants
They're both mutants
not even abhumans
Custodes just more so
can custodes reproduce?
Abhumans are more of a political term tbh
Marines are a rougher process which grafts in new organs to do the job, Custodes are completely changed.
As its described.
There are pretty much only two requirements
abhumans are a stable mutaiton
- Geneline has to be stable
About almost any passage where it goes into explaining how Custodians are "shaped" and molded to become what they are while Marines are forged like weapons of mass destruction?
Not that we've seen or heard of
- They're useful
Yeah but that doesnt really have much to do with anything considering their entire creation process isnt said to be much beyond very clinically "scalpel" like where they are shaped into what they are now.
- not nids
Its described sexier, its still a process which mutates the baby into a superhuman.
Again, this is just your bias.
Chemically changing the entire structure into a super human is mutation.
Okay, and Marines are still considered the latter
Based off what?
...
custodes are gene treated humans
spesh marines are prepubescents where puberty is hijacked and extra shit added
I mean okay
Custodes are a more refined process.
more expensive*
And a more specialized one, but its also more thorough.
Both
Each one is described as a unique piece basically.
again, semantics
"mutant" in 40k very much is used in the manner of "ugly malformed beast", which you know, Custodians dont fit into, at all.
I mean I guess it's like
Would biological hijacking at an earlier point in their lives still be considered
also this internet is killing me hold on lol
I'm not using the in universe definition, marines don't fit that either arguably.
We weren't dicussing in universe.
just mutated
custodes might be abhumans but likely also just unstable mutants
Why are you focusing on it then lol
what even is the point of this argument
Neither of them can reproduce
"oh they technically are mutants too ๐ค "
probably intentionally bc
okay cool
emperor
Although would geneseed count as reproduction?
not mentioned for custodes, think explicitly for marines
Sorta?
Its not really the same
Its part of how they "reproduce" but yeah
They still need kids
does rejuvant treatment make you a mutant
Yeah true. They aren't creating a new person or being
Because you made a statement that is pretty much incorrect in-universe? Why are you correcting me?
Just
also why do you always have to find the most dumbest subjects to be a nerd emoji over ill genuinely never understand
Arguably some definitely do
a new organ basically.
We weren't using in universe
Cool, and thats what i was mentioning.
And you say I'm semantical
yet you go "what is this based off of"
I mean you are
Cool, yours wasnt either
space marines are mutants, and suffer not the mutant to live
sisters of battle actually don't like SMs precisely because of that
and the blood runes incident
although they still work with them and are far more tolerant.
Neither are mutants using the in universe definition.
"Use blood to protect from the blood plague"
age of apostacy also plays into that
So it doesn't matter
Thanks @storm jungle for doing all of the debating for me.
also yes hello am still alive
He does this a lot.
It is good to have a minion like you.
and always ends it with like
I guess it depends on whether mutants are dependant by "The amount of genetic deviance from baseline"
"well clearly i yapped the most and provided a source so i win"
or the Imperium definition AKA
or I move on and hes like
"Being fuck ugly"
6 fingers != butt fuck ugly
but is a mutant according to imp[erial standardsa
anyway what are we arguing about now
Looks ugly compared to 5 fingers, execution.
I just finished painting i need popcorn material

If we just keep moving the goalposts and changing the original point, eventually you'll be right
should we suffer the mutant to live (space marines and custodes)
Yeah im just scrolling up now

Again why are you two like this.
