Kind of a loose comparison, the MaxTac in CP2077 can make the 40K Tempetus Scion a run for the money.

In 40K however, the power dispersion between faction tier is huge.

Y'know honestly, I always thought that the writing of SMs are interesting.

Specifically with how writing them is kinda difficult.

You see, their entire crux is that they're inhuman.

Overall in general, my personal interpretation is that the Imperium's fall is due to the lack of humanity. The lack of empathy. The Emperor with his sons, the Space Marines and Thunder Warriors, I'm definitely saying the obvious but the reason why the Imperium fell in the end is due to ignoring the very core of humanity.

For me, warhammer is a lot of silly concepts that take themselves 100% seriously. Im not the biggest fan when you start making things goofy and also not taking them seriously. But yeah, its not really a big deal or anything

40k to me, in replicating over and again some of the worst situations one could imagine, has a kind of weird verisimilitude to me. Like life is in fact often awful, not on a grand galactic scale but in our own private worlds.

I don’t know why but I go to 40k in the worst times.

But that they're... kind of trying to be good. If that makes any sense.

But the universe keeps pushing back. There's no room for it. It demands cruelty, it demands slaughter, it demands excess, and it demands despair.

They're a rising star in a galaxy full of dying stars that already ruined the galaxy around them. The threshold for remaining sane and reasonable has already been broken even before they existed.

The game was rigged from the start.

They HAVE and will sink further and further into the habits of those empires before them, knowing they bring ruination and yet not being able to stop them because it is what survival requires.

I fell back on the books etc when the pandemic hit and when a serious illness and death hit my family.

The courage, or at least persistence, in the face of bleak reality is something that appeals

And that the heroes are often grizzled and damaged and denied happy endings

But sometimes their defiance, or their little acts of fairness and goodness, are triumphs enough.

The heroes cannot change the world around them. They cannot depose the Emperor and bring about a new golden age for humanity.

But they can at least save something, save those who they care about.

Imo revenge is hollow works well when you design the story and game around it

The terran born RG wanted to be in the 1st line as well.

They were the more warmonging troops of the RG.

It was the terran RG choice, though as a primarch, Corax still had responsibility in the decision. Especially since it was Corax, he still felt bad for them. Hence they mutually accepted the separation, but no hard feelings.
