lore wise Levantine Terpsichorean, like the rest of the forces in the Levantine Legion aren't exclusively male or female. They serve as assassins/spies/skirmishers and as dancers and prostitutes to keep up morale for the Levantine Legion.

For the ingame reasoning of their appearances the Levantine Expedition force is stuck in the middle of fucking nowhere and surrounded by sand and horrific monsters while they try to excavate the ruins. they primarily serve as their previously mentioned morale roles and only rarely show up in combat gameplay wise which I'm fine with because they're obnoxious as hell and probably the most dangerous basic enemy in the entire Levantine roster because Samsara Death is one of the single largest health + stress nukes on a basic enemy in both Black Reliquary and the actual Darkest Dungeon game lol
