but if you were to send any guard squad charging an ork mob like that dawn of war trailer, i dont think it'd go well
if you have enough guardsmen, anything is possible
yeah, thats why you have to tell them orks are frail and weak beforehand
hype em up for the greatest mass-sacrifice ever seen in the last 15 seconds of 40k
100 guardsmen firing at the same time will kill most living beings
Isn't there official art of Straken 1v1ing a Crisis Battlesuit, or am I stupid
it will, but i was referring specifically to just
charging into melee on an open field
straken is half terminator so he's his own beast
weakest catachan male
drip
well we dont know that straken defeated that suit in honorable single combat to be fair
he could've blasted that suit from the back or something and ripped the head off when it was down
which i could see as the Imperium's Second-Greatest Commando
it wouldn't have been fair even if he was unarmed
He can still rip the head off a Crisis suit

to be fair, that IS his robot arm doing it
guy carries a heavy bolter like it's a lasgun
there's that one catachan sergeant who does that too
i cant remember his name
boltguns and bolt pistols seem to have two alternative size categories for marines and humans respectively, but idk if the same is true for heavy bolters
they're the same size iirc
going off of both darktide and RT where i say this; in the latter space marines can equip the same heavy bolters humans can, when the same isn't true for other bolt weapons
so it may be the same pattern
Though harkens was a sm heavy bolter
Because he was just built different
due to the fact they're crew served
harkens probably is yeah
guard heavy bolter is intended to be static
Man pulled it from a fire
also he has the funniest fucking quote ever
"Back home, I once fancied me a pair of Catachan Devil boots. Killed me half a dozen of the great ugly critters but never found a single one that wore any!"
This is a catachan devil

i also wouldn't be surprised if catachaners were filled to the brim with Space Steroids, though i dont think thats said anywhere
(His balls are titan grade weaponry)
marbo can kill an ork boss with an auto pistol
just give him an order and some time
but it makes sense given their insane strength and also the fact they're originally based off of US commandos
Heard marbo killed a demon planet once
Marbo is hilarious
With an autopistol and a sock
i saw marbo behead a space marine
with a butter knife
sly marbo is fun because the main character armour is part of the joke
Is Sly still a character on the table top?
somebody type yes
Yes
I mean you’d think he’d have a lot of boots
Most perturbatory
Buggy friend :3
The way Dan Abnett writes feels very strange to get used to but good once you do
Or maybe it's because I'm learning some new 40k mumbo jumbo word every other sentence that I think that
Tbh i expected it to more like the devils from fallout 76, I do like the buggy perspective much more centipedes are amazing hunterd
eisenhorn reference
eisenhorn is the jojo of warhammer

i have never watched jojo but i feel like that's correct
Not a terrible comparison
Are most modern nightlords not nostraman? Idk if they recruit. But if they do, would that make a lot of the modern nightlords lack the pale skin and black eyes?
There’s a lot who aren’t, but also the pale skin black eyes thing is caused by the geneseed
NL and RG are really twins legion.
Seems like it is the case for all of the loyalists and traitors.
night lords and raven guard operate pretty differently
night lords dont really like stealth, their shtick is terrifying the enemy
i think raven guard are closer to alpha legion
NL do like stealth but it’s very different approaches yes
They all kinda cover different aspects of it
RG are about never being seen at all and ambush tactics
One is batman and other is uh well batman
So astartes 2 is coming out, huh looks decent so far but will hold judgement till it comes out
Slim chance it isn't good
Its expensive and not fully made by GW so it will be good
Granted some parts of the trailer looked a bit clunky imo
A-posing up a corridor the size of you via jetpack
He's hitting the armored core pose
This is what the warhammer community post says about it ( I guess minor spoilers?)||This teaser trailer is not actually clips from the new animation, instead showing a compilation of shots that represent the former lives of the characters that will appear in the show.||
That post has been sent like 7 times
womp womp womp

those orphans had it coming
I remember making one of these for sororitas, i approve 😭
if only the community accepted salamanders as the civilian burning freaks they are
Would any of doctor whos daleks, cybermen or any of their races stand any chance against anything in 40k?
Daleks are more broken than anything in 40k
^
Like, Daleks would absolutely dominate and exterminate 40k
they are ridiculously fucking OP
Whats so broken about Daleks?
In laymans terms they are like necrons on crack
Yeah that
its 40k tier and suprasses it sometimes
they cannot go up fucking stairs yet also dominated the entire galaxy and beyond
Toy Maker my beloved
I miss when the Doctor was responsible for genocide
zesty ahh
Same.
It’s great art at least
the tyranid is a bit goofy but its cool
you can tell its like some godzilla sized warrior lol
It’s a neat take on a different type of Bio titan
Im not the biggest fan mostly for the design, i feel like it ironically kinda ruins the picture
not enough detail!!!!
its like that genestealer baby in Hammer and Bolter who looks like a marketable plushie
😭
Well maybe the hive mind doesn’t spend as much time on all them smh
Some of them come out in 480p
my pacific rim design autism is acting up!!!

i feel like daleks would still lose to enough firepower
human tech in doctor who sucks
They’re so stupid
It gets very silly
It’s kinda like uh how anime gets super silly
yeah lol
I want a new pacific rim 2
but during david tennant's doctor humanity manages to kill like one dalek because like 8 people shoot it
It’s just throwing ridiculous stuff at the wall
also they look fucking stupid and that's what makes doctor who great
they have PLUNGER
I LOVE how they gave that shit an actual purpose
and its to fucking suck the brains out of people which is as funny as it is horrifying lol
yeah lmfao
Don't they hover for no reason at times but not others
free blow-
Yes
I haven't kept up with Dr Who
I mean yes
they can fly yes
yeah like uh
in fact them flying out of nowhere has been a visual gag multiple times
LEGIT.
It was fun but then it took itself way too seriously
one of the "horror" scenes in Doctor Who is they see a dalek stop at the bottom of the stairs
the dalek stops
looks down
looks up
then goes
like a couple of characters say "why dont we just go up some stairs" and daleks just levitate
E-LE-VATE
floats
horror music starts playing
💀
THE CAST KNEW THEY WERE COOKED
see that's funny and based
9th and 10th doctor had some funny ass dalek moments
yeah the episode with the dalek im the bunker
the grand reveal of daleks still being around in the reboot
Doctor Who was best with like, idk the run they had around and after Tennant
I watched this guy and then didn't care for much of the stuff afterwards
And it’s been downhill since
Trapped in a bunker surrounded by Humans, a lone Dalek flies up a flight of stairs chasing after Rose.
This wasn't the first time that Daleks were shown flying up a flight of stairs, as this was seen on-screen for the first time in Remembrance of the Daleks in 1988.
This video has been uploaded for entertainment purposes only. All footage and ...
its the british sci-fi effect yeah
Imo
I found it
i like doctor who
i like david tennant because he is a good actor and a great human being
Who's the guy who looks like he's been through the ringer, the discount cucumber guy
the old guy?
OH WAIT THAT ONE
yeah HIM
Capaldi?
yeah him
nah he plays an albino now yeah
funny thing is he played in the show before he was a doctor
like the doctor somehow imprints the look of people or smth
He was the one who started making the show good imo
I think he was the first reboot one?
eccleston was snubbed too early
He was great
one of my favorite episodes is the gas mask kid
Shame hes overshadowed by Tennant
I've often liked him
Tennant is the peak though I think
yeah that was the one i was thinking of the most
the doctor after tennant wasn't bad i think the problem was the director of the season didn't really understand what made doctor who good
He was in the single greatest TV show, Poirot
I thought that was Malekith
Doctor who was rough on the cgi
im sorry for turning this into doctor who lore lol
im re-watching a bunch with a friend and were up to matt-smith era, on the episode with the cybermen rat
Okay but its funny
It's fine, lore chat is often about lore
this chat becomes whatever lore it wants
What's the episode where the water makes you drool a lot, I liked that one
The Waters of Mars
Where they're on some clouds and there's like 2d cutouts of all the doctors green screened in
tyty, reckon I'll rewatch it
im waiting for that episode where the thing that happens is time is taking place at the same pacing and scenes as an actual show on TV or something, I remember that being really funny and clever
hey they had to make do
Most of them were dead right
They like 2Dd Eccleston in too and it looked very bad lol
this chat has gotten off-topic'd over weirder shit dont worry lol
what are the political implications behind Noxian Generals O'bama and Bushe's campaigns into Shurima
I won't do this again I promise
Oh god the map of Tamriel has rotted my brain, I saw colors on a fictional earth instantly saw Skyrim and Hammerfell
LOL
MGS4, peak anti-war politic action espionage game.
Inb4 "ykno Armstrong had a point" guy comes in
OHHH DILAARRRAAAAAA
I sometimes wake up wanting to kill Konami
GUESS WHO TOLD ME YOU WERE A DISCORD MOD
this is your favourite gif
Pachinko
its a really good mood gif
guh
Anyways hi :)

Fuck Konami is still a thing?
Yes
Yeah they make money
unfortunately
Ok bye love you Dilara bye bestie baiiiii
bye
I have done nothing wrong
bastard
For the record
I thought Eternal was your bestie, Dilara
Everyone knows dilara's bestie is James Wokeshop
Missed a shot their Ed, could have went for Wokeslop for additional combo points
lmao
Having friends is a bad move, because if you lose them, it would be painful. The only way to be happy is to be forever alone.
honestly, mood
just process your grief before it happens
like those buddhists who mummify themselves, or something like that
Nah, not eating animals is no fun.
Got any Blue?
Nah only the green flavor
Damn
I'll drink it if they release a white version
White taurox is only for officers
Smh
I've been doing this 3 years and I'm perfectly fine!(I'm not)
Some people here can donate you some...
You perv
Which monster tastes the best
Redbull...
I can't see this scene without thinking of Trazyn and Orikan anymore and now I curse you with it
Is green taurox tyranid jiss
No
I'm very white and get scared of melinated people, obviously
I don't want to know.
Saw a version of this earlier with Darktide music but couldn't save it
You can just link the reddit post here.
Na
I will do it then: https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/1icmtg5/me_in_the_clandestium_gloriana_finale/
if you replace e in reddit with an x you can imbed it
why'd it kill the audio lmao
No audio though it seems
I've never seen that happen before
I think if you have a video on mute when you post it kills the audio
Shrug
wtf it's just that post I tried it with others and they're fine
I hate discord so much
Discord is indeed rather horseshit
the physics of the car in the back confuse me for some reason
like the way it bounces is so funny
The back left wheel hits the ground and causes it to bounce prolly
also i'm bringing this up again there were totally canon dudes in the teaser
Or the missile
Iyama has said they weren't, he gave examples.
Originally
the blue flame from the missile blanketing the tank is neat
They were all homebrew ideas his patreon had, although some were very close obviously to real ones to where it almost didn't matter.
I thought it was Tau small arms fire lol
Like a pulse rifle
I thought that this was one of the better looking scenes
pretty sure it was a mix of lesser known canon and homebrew
I thought that blue effect was the fire from the missile hitting the halo shield. But idk if those even have shields
just sayin
Astartes with capes my beloved
thats awesome
Tau not eating shit!!!!!!!
Well
On screen
Eepy
They don’t
Tbh the way the remaining stealth suit suppresses the marine before going invis is cool
Y'know I heard somebody speculate that the flood theme's high pitches in Halo 1 and Halo 3 sound similar to the Low Shield sfx
To basically play on your instinct of danger
They also start moving fast as soon as the second shows up
Ayyy we got T'au actually fighting against marines
And NOT being vaporized in 0.01 seconds
Gaming
Honestly I think my favorite part of Astartes original is that even though the traitors were still fucking mogged. They weren't stupid.
Eh. Still better than what I expected
To be fair to be fair we're at a bad angle to see SM casualties there
But yeah, he makes the enemies cool too

Looking forward to what they do
Yeah the traitors basically tried a lot of tactics.
Trying to sneak up, using camouflage, even tried a surprise ambush
I do wonder how the firefight started
Unfortunately they had two problems
#1) They were up against Space Marines, not a regular force
#2) The Multilas was also bought off of Wish.com

Me, explaining to Black Library authors how if you make the enemy look cool and competent it makes your characters look cooler and competent when they overcome them.
Nah just have the shard of a god that literally vomits bronze choke somehow
Does that scene imply that Avatar of Khaines have like
Organs and anatomy?
I don't know, having Eldar beaten to death by children with sticks is very cool, allegedly
How the fuck would that even work. They literally vomit molten bronze.
Overthinking aside. I hope the T'au are portrayed well
Pulse Rifles can also rip through SM armor due to being plasma so I expect at least some damage
I'd even accept superficial shit like
Managing to make a hole through their large ass pauldrons

the tau is trying to get away tbf
They’re trying to suppress the heavy bolter dude
So they can go invis and fuck off
Lukas the Trickster book gang rise up
🗣️ 🗣️ 🗣️
Yeah usually you'd bring out the battle suits
I mean the stealth suit can stand up to a marine in a gunfight
The issue is most of their squad is dead
They’re outnumbered and outgunned
Might as well fire and fade
Yeah best decision is to RUN THE FUCK AWAY
On god
Eldar picking up human weapons since somehow that's
More effective than their weapons??
I still fucking hate that
itd be an interesting setup if its like the last stealth suit is on some main character shit
CS Goto’s books contradict canon so much they’re non canon on god
they think it's a sweep but he just starts taking em out left and right until its a 1v1
Behold backfilling terminators
they're more blatantly imperial propaganda than caiaphas cain
Lol
Aren't Shruiken weapons basically fucking rail guns?
Exactly why I don't think the SM are as strong as they are in the fluff without fortified plot armour.
"see? the primitive xenos PREFER our weapons"
That shoot shrukiens
Shuriken catapults are like
Delicious
Flechette guns
Is that a human or an ork
I think its ground up now.
they're strictly speaking equal
Or it’s a civilian
LOL
but the ultramarines movie has them all getting mowed down like dogs in the street
That UM movie... is that even canon?
actually, that one wasn't TOO bad, they wiped out like half the UM squad
Its not coming up again if it is or isn't.
either way, it's badass unironically
but theres so much hilarious shit about it too
I should watch it if only for a laugh
"hmm the demon detector is still going off... OH FUCK"
"Every chapter secretly want to be like the UM"
Maybe I'll get some actual enjoyment from it though
its sort of a MB transformers movie but for 40k
so if you approach it expecting that it rocks
plus the soundtrack kicks serious ass too
do you think inquisitors have the chaos version of a gaydar
The voice acting is so bad.
lame
well this one was a giant fuckoff banner that turned into a giant bonfire when chaos was around
they kill the one chaplain cuz they think hes a demon and go "durrr wait its still on fire!"
A psyker innit
i don't know it could be chaos but we can't know for sure
"Bro this guy is gonna be a cultist."
"he isn't a cultist."
"But he's gonna be. He's bald. Do you know who also was bald?
HORUS."
Imagine he says Vulkan...
do you think alpha legion all have bald spots to represent their ambiguity
idk i never saw an alpha legion
Well, after seeing Ultramarines, and frankly liking it a lot more than I expected, I decided to upload this scene.
I know that this video required no skill whatsoever, but I just wanted to have it uploaded.
Thank you for watching.
If you have not seen Ultramarines, buy it, or watch it on youtube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaDWT3tcoQQ
this is definitely 100% face-value canon
you know dan abnett wrote it?
he wrote a fight scene?
Oh god that movie
This movie is so ass in a good way
No he wrote the whole movie
oh it's a movie?
WE MARCH FOR MACCRAGE
Shows that good writer =! Good movie scriptwriter lol
literally i love it so much
literary masterpiece? obviously not
I enjoyed it
stephen king still thinks the shining movie sucked
but id put this on with some beers
Remind me of The Fantastic Beasts.
It’s so campy
where do i even watch this
Youtube
i am no rube
Its all there
yeah the entire movie's on youtube lmao
This is
The jankiest shit I have ever seen.
The animation is stiff as shit.
The voice acting kinda sucks for the most part.
But it's also kinda cool.
Brothers! We have found the Blu-ray version! Now we shall watch within our holy living room.
Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie is a 2010 science fiction CGI film set in Games Workshop's fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe and based on the Ultramarines Chapter of the Space Marines.
I don't own any of this. But for the Emperor!
h...
ironically the actors themselves are actually very accomplished
like, not ALL STAR cast
but not just random dudes either
who
If GW wants to remove it, it is more because of shame than because of copyright.
The chaplian screaming "BURN HERETICS" is great though
arent there a ton of meme sound effects from that movie
the captain/daemon prince is played by terence stamp
its criminal that no memes came from this movie
Is that chaplain burning a wave of chaos marine with his crux lore accurate tho?
oh im thinking of the game
theres one bit where there's like a three second long shot of a chaos marine dual-wielding pistols
like lmfao
I can't remember if he was a psyker or something
NOOOO MY TABLETOP LORE
That sounds cool as shit tbh
nah its just a wave stun
space marines dual wielding pistols should be normal
it is but its also so random
Akimbo SMs should be a thing
I don't think even GK can do that...
This is actually just pure cheese.
I love it
the one thing that is unironically good though is the OST
I will watch the whole thing this is both ironically enjoyable and unironically enjoyable
THAT EXPLOSION EFFECT LOOKS LIKE A STOCK GREEN SCREEN

Absolutely not lol
i think part of the charm is that they unironically have heroic scale for the marines
But it’s cool
so they have comically large guns
Yeah the marines look like the minis lol
The animation is like 10 years behind
Csm already do this in lore
This is what I'd expect from 2000 not 2010
so do some space marine units but i want MORE
i like how the two guys they sent up to scout get headshot with the precision of snipers
but for the rest of the movie chaos just sprays n prays
also screeching like bats
The only thing i remembered clearly from that movie was the "we march for maccrage" line.
there's actually a good amount of detail, like they have the apothecary collecting geneseeds in blink-or-you'll-miss-it moments
it was the same bullet that bounced off the cardinal on vraks, it traveled through space and plot just to kill two marines
I don't think Chaplians are Psykers usually

nah chaplains arent
Librarians are
Nah, he has a flamer gauntlet powered by his fart.
Honestly some of the set pieces are cool. I like the Chaos guy with the sword and Bolter fucking cutting down some UMs like chaff
Also happened to be helmetless...
gasp
THEY FOUND THE TRICK
I guess his Crux (crozius?) is just great then
i wouldnt be surprised if they took the whole "they think the captain dies but he comes back" bit purely from LoTR
but they twist it with "actually hes evil now muahahaha"
behold, your daemon prince
Them legs
Also the CGI in the UM movies kinda reminds me of like
Old 1990s games
Y'know how Fallout had close ups/"talking heads"?
It kinda reminds of that
if i were to point to one thing, itd probably just be the lighting
Also as a genuine question
Do like SMs know the truth of the rubrics
That they're essentially just a suit of armor and dust
Or is it on a need to know basis
Like if a thousand Sons sorcerer shows up, are they told
"yeah the armored guys with them have nothing in the actual suits"
Or do they already know
think it really depends on the chapter, but i think it'd be need to know for something like UMs
I would say the OG chapters are better informed than newer foundings
Especially since most of the stuff on the traitor legions/primarchs is suppressed or censored
if i were guilliman, i'd be painfully aware that space marines are just as capable of falling as ordinary humans, so writing the codex astartes i'd likewise go by the general policy of keeping chaos need to know
Also how exactly do you "kill" a rubicae
Ik SM2 has you essentially shoot them at the head
Shoot it
Then it needs an actual live sorcerer to raise it up
as most situations, it can be resolved with enough dakka
Like do you have to turn the entire armor into slag/scrap metal?
No
it seems to just be some arbitrary point of "the automaton is no longer functional"
though perma-killing one i dont think can be done via conventional means
use a vacuum cleaner for the dust
u have to use space magic or whatever
Well disabling it enough that it just shuts down.
right but the sorcerer can bring them back
this is my holy shotguns. it's a shotgun, but blessed
So there's no exact point. You just shoot it until it suddenly stops working
want to see my holy lead pellets?
that's how it seems to be unless there's a specific point defined somewhere that i don't know of
Honestly thought it would be a cool idea to kinda make them like pseudo Necrons in a weird way?
Like you can shoot off half of the "armor" but they'll still crawl at you to kill you
"When a Rubric Marine dies, the dried remains of his material form pour from his rent armour and are scattered to all winds of the battlefield. After this, only the most powerful sorcerers could re-collect this dust, reseal the armour, and through a complicated ritual reanimate the Rubric Marine to a new "life". The sorcery required for this deed are very dangerous and just one syllable misspelled could drive the Sorcerer insane - or kill him outright.[7b]
A variation of the Rubric Marine is the Rubric Marine Genie, whose lower body is nothing but a dust swirl.[8]"
So there's no defined point
Huh
Honestly thought that you have to like.
Make them look like the Black Knight in Monty Python: The Holy Grail to "kill" them
Basically no legs and no arms

rend means "To tear or split apart or into pieces violently", so if i might hazard a guess, the point is when their armored shell is damaged enough that the dust spills out
so the dust is like a quasi-blood to them
especially since it specifically mentions stuffing the dust back into the armor to bring them back
Makes sense.
finally an explanation of the darktide mechanic
which i wonder if the dust is unique to each rubric marine
and if so how they tell whose is whose
"shit i think i put jeremy's dust in with george"
Sorcery.
Honestly I probably think it would be disturbing that they don't know
So if like
Ahriman and the Ynnari made a deal to make all the Rubricae normal for some reason
Then some of the. Would be like
Abominations that quickly die
also the thought of the sorcerers having their cultist thralls with like
Tbh they kinda have to get the basic idea
Due to the dust getting mixed up
It’s not complicated once you start killing them
And they get brought back or whatever
vacuum cleaner man
The Tsons can summon it all back anyways
"CULTISTS, COLLECT ALL THAT GLITTER"
They just make new suits and summon the dust to them
and its like a battle were thousands of rubricae died
do not eat the glitter
Dammit
do NOT eat the tzeentch glitter
this is the more realistic/reasonable situation
It’s what they do largely
its still funny the idea of them having tzaangors with Chaos Vacuums going around the battlefield
But yes
and we do literally see it in sm2
Tzeentch's greatest weapon, the glitter bomb
the gay bomb
Ahriman seeing me eating the weird dust on the ground
it goes out both ends depending on when you ate it
picture a cultist violently shitting magic rubicon dust
truly chaos-coded
i encountered a chaos incident in the wild when i played RoR and we accidentally rolled up the battering ram backwards
all the chosen boiled alive to oil
Is there a les mis in 40k?
Also if you've ever played Dead Space, yk the poor fuckers that are stuck to the walls
Apparently the Marker can get angry.
Basically it is what it does to people who managed to resist it's influence.
Still maintaining their consciousness and awareness but forced to stay there in pain. Welded to the wall. Basically spitting out random meatballs.
And honestly I find that fucking terrifying
That the Necromorphs ISN'T the worst fate that the Marker can give to people
That all the horrifying monsters it turns people into...
Are a mercy
yeah the Marker is actively an evil entity lol
like it literally makes fucking fetus/babies into suicide bombs because it knows people will try to "help" them

Yeah I think the worst part about the baby bombs is that it's implied that they are also still "aware"
The reason that they crawl to people is because they still want help.
Yeah.
Which makes it even sadder that DS4 probably won't come out

Fucking EA
wasn't there literally a scene where one crawls to a girl for comfort proceeds to stay there in comfort for a minute and then blow up
Yeah
And also the girl probably was being affected by the Marker since anybody with sanity would probably run away from the fuckers
HORUS LUPERCAL… Primarch of the Luna Wolves, The Emperor's Proxy, The Warmaster.
As Horus leads his Luna Wolves on the Great Crusade, the foundation of the Imperium begins to shift. His sons, Ezekyle Abaddon, Tarik Torgaddon, the newest member of the Mournival, Garviel Loken, put their lives on the line to honor their legion and lead their Prim...
Whoever is voicing Garviel Loken reminds me of Liam Neeson
So fun fact

Is Jega from Halo Infinite
Only survivor, the bombs damaged him so much that he had a lot of his flesh replaced with cybernetics
I was thinking the exact thing for the chainsword one lol
Gonna get a lot of use out of that
when i'm playing marvel rivals and i meet the loudest runt ever
way too true 💀
Dentist with the scraping tool be like:
I just notice he looks up after revving it , like “okay he’s done. Next victim please”
That one actually sounds brutal lmao
Left 4 Dead 2 chainsaw sound effects are fucking grungy lmao
love how violent it sounds
also the hl scientist scream actually fits well for the uh
situation

Y'know I find it funny that the chainsword is implied to be like
A primal instinct throughout every race
Like the Eldar have chainswords
Humanity has chainswords
Like I'm at least 80% sure that the T'au will eventually have Chainswords
Like many examples of human invention, the chainsword’s many variants seem to have their roots in the shrouded heresies of the Dark Age of Technology. Accordingly, it saw consistent use in the armoured fists of techno-barbarians during the Age of Strife, and among the Emperor’s own armies during his Thunder Warriors’ brutal conquest of Terra.
But chainswords have been wielded by inhuman hands for aeons. Several xenos races have borne such blades into battle even in the ages where Mankind could only look up to the stars with spears in their filthy hands. Tech-Priest foundry masters have speculated, down the centuries, that it is simply a natural evolution of the sword’s design: from bronze to iron; from iron to steel; from steel to chain-teeth; and from chain-teeth to a weapon wreathed in an energy field - such as the Imperial power sword.
But doubt remains. More than one Martian magos has devoted their life’s work to researching the primeval origins of chainweapons; mostly likely as an inspiration stolen from an alien race, in a war that may never be remembered. If this theorem ever bears fruit, it is distinctly possible that the galaxy’s first wielders of chainswords were jade-clad warriors of the ancient Eldar.
From one of the late mid-2000's supplement books lol
Actually have an idea.
What if the Krorks were the one that "invented" it?
And the Eldar stole that idea
and it profiliated throughout the galaxy
Like a Chainsword seems pretty Orky if you ask me
Either that or it's literally just like
Ingrained instinct in every race for 40k
Which is funny for me for some reason
Like
"Step #1. Figure out fire"
"Step #2. Make Chainsword"
"The first two steps to find intelligent life"
i refuse to believe eldar invented chainswords
Incredible
PoV: You're horrifically fucked
I wanna see what happens when these four take on a pub crawl
Eddy_gonz is so good
What where who
This art is so good
Makes me want to break out the Veiled Blade
Eddy Gonzales.
in what feasible situation would one assassin from every temple be sent together
is there truly a single thing worthy of such an expense
There's some examples
a powerful chaos lord
a giant Warboss
a powerful Eldar Taldeer
Who got killed by the Culexus.
multiple multiple examples really
i feel like a single assassin would be more than enough
This is warhammer trust me sometimes a chaos Lord can reach such a height that four of them can warrant that
For especially sensitive targets or hard ones.
do they even work together well
I know Ghaz and Abbadon have been mentioned as targets for countless attempts.
Well yes
One handles the sneaking about because of their shape shifting
One handles the magical threats
The other one is long range support
so is the eversor sent in as a distraction or something
And the other one is just a berserker
how does he even comprehend teamwork
That's high on drugs
They're not insane or uncontrollable
The are very lucid in what they're doing.
Yeah they are just frothing mad from drugs
Yeah
The Eversor in Nemesis is lovable
But you don't send them on mission you care about that typically.
They are just designed to be killing machines but you see killing machines are better when they think
Enough
eversors are my favs
But yeah they're extremely lucid of their actions
Sometimes the raw combat power they offer is needed to be fair
They select them from serial killers commonly for a reason.
That's the sniper if i remember
yeah
just dudes with massive snipers
All u assassin lovers come play veiled blade strike force detachment for Imperial Agents.
Speaking of Eddy Gonz
Is it competitively viable? Not really. Is it fun? Maybe.
Eversors are wild though, some have absurd feats.
Dueling a Solitaire and wounding them so that when they died they killed it for example.
The one in Iron Warrior too is fucking insane.
Be honest make sense considering that they are constantly powered and trained to be that way
They are literally physically pushed to their limit and then added with drugs
Shreds through CSM, and duels and kills a Slannesh Champion from the heresy era.
They're blisteringly fast too
All Assassins are but them more so.
I mean there's a good reason when it comes to physical raw power they are basically at the top of the assassin hierarchy
Normal assassins are described as hard to track for marines, Eversors are a blur.
With the power of drugs and rather ruthless training i am now fast enough to keep up with some of the fastest things in the universe
My name is the Garatine, and I'm the fastest sociopath alive.
40k zoomer
"Harken o'eer yonder, she doth present her gyatt for thine rizzler."
I apologize, I had a moment of chaos corruption
mister malcador, i dont think we should have created the assassin temples anymore
i wonder how an eversor would fight custodes
Speed blitz it, find gaps in its armor. Abuse any trick it could.
Its probably faster than most Custodes but penetrating the armor and killing them before they kill you is gonna be an issue, but then the explosion.
The Custodes 1000% knows all about Eversors too
To be honest when it comes to physical ability very few can beat a custodes in the imperium
I honestly think that they will find the timing and you know exploit that and defeat the eversor
The main issue is getting it away before the detonation, and speed.
Basically, it comes down to how good the Eversor is and the Custodes, they're not all made equal.
But yeah Custodes have a very good chance.
Their knowledge of them along is a huge advantage few other parties Eversors would fight could hope to have.
are you sure?
Yes
They are literally the emperors elite god
They definitely know all about Assassins
They need to know this kind of stuff
yeah that doesn't mean they get told everything
Its their job to know all threats internal and external
Yeah but they kind of just get to know that because you know
They're probably had to kill assassins before.
They are literally the god emperors chosen guard
The Eyes of the Emperor have insane reach and power.
Yep
there's a limited amount of them
Eversors aren't an unknown quantity either.
Don't guardsmen literally know about assassin's
Its not like its something thats completely unknown at the highest levels
I think theres whispers and stuff
some high lord of terra sending an assassin somewhere that coincidentally had custodes operating under cover
To be clear too
Yeah but even without that
They have records of the temples founding
They are literally again the emperor's personal guard
They need to know about every ins and out of the imperium
If they want to truly guard his empire
Like their records span back to Unification.
didn't they only recently leave the palace
No
They openly did
They've been doing it for 10,000 years just mostly around sol for massive actions
And not making a big deal of it.
They've had Eyes and the Aquilan Guard and other custodes roaming the Imperium for as long as its been around.
Plus other agents
They are literally one of the most secretive groups of the imperium
Because they know that just their presence alone will cause a lot of funny things to happen
They work with Inquisitors and whoever when needed, they can literally request assassins and have.
Valdor has a pretty great scene of this.
They don't flex their power a lot and haven't so its understated but they have been the highest power in the Imperium when they choose to be for stuff like this
so is a sister of silence less combat effective than the blank assassin
And no small part of that is that they answer only to the throne and have the ability to bring down some dangerous shit.
Yeah again they are literally the emperor's personal guard
Probably yeah but they do different things
Some SoS are beyond them
Assassins aren't all made equal too.
Isn't literally one of their groups guarding a vault full of incredibly fucking dangerous stuff
yeah
Yah the Shadowkeepers
If push comes to shove they can grab something from there and just throw it at you
And its mentioned its a very active and dangerous job, this stuff breaks out.
And they have to lock it down.
stuff so powerful the emperor couldn't even kill
Yeah no doubt the place has some very powerful weapons in it
The Dark Cells
And when everything fails they can just throw it at you
i want to have one single story of a dark cell beast being hunted
1000% at least one man of iron in there
it that craves
Subject XI is a cheeky one
i didnt know there were stories
Not much tbh
could you link it pls
Mostly just "this is a mysterious thing thats mentioned"
i wanna read
These are kinda neat
They use them for the Shadowkeeper trials, one trial for each chaos god.
nice
also i just learned of another weird lore thing that i never heard of before
the hadex anomaly
barely a lexicanum page but people on reddit seem to know it by name
By @moritzdraws40k on insta
“Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!”
…
Nothing beside remains. ‘Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away.
so they have to beat a Tzeentch daemon in a staring contest, huff the farts of a Nurgle daemon for 3 hours, beat a Khorne daemon in a bare knucle brawl, and listen to a Slaanesh daemon's ERP for a day
nameless what the hell is that pfp
A task that would make anybody insane for sure
it's adorable
Ngl the staring contest one feels the worst
Thats so fucking long
ikr
what is this evil creature
no idea
The final test
They have to resist stabbing it for five minutes.
As it yaps
Its not six because no one has made it that long.
that test must have a 99% failure rate
would be a shame
if someone
did a lil falling
cypher somehow finding himself in the vaults of terra
the most guarded place in the imperium
is the lion going to like, stop him
like ask him to chill out with the dumb cryptic shit
He rolled a double so the Shadowkeepers had to let him out.
persuasion check pass
100 floors to go
cypher is the kind of player who uses weighted dice
idk if he even knows about him yet
seriously tho i'm like right at the start of the book
i have noticed some call Cypher the "lord of the fallen" is that an actual title he has used/been called in the lore or just some fan thing?
and the DA just blow up a fuckin generator letting a bunch of these unknowable horrors loose
wtf bros
You tell me
ah ok
He is infamous amongst the DA and anyone else who knows as that yeah
wait so is Uther dead or has he left the fallen to join chaos or something?
He shows up at random, always eludes capture or death, sometimes helps them, sometimes fights them.
in universe name, comes from the old role of Lord Cypher
