Trying to resist rewriting my whole stormhost
Resist the urge
We can get close...quite close...
Lads, I honestly really appericate the mobian 6th for being such a well armed traitor guard force. I mean, they were the pride of their system before they fell. Being a guard regiment is one thing, but one that becomes renown is another.
Like our vraxians above, they weren't really on the level of guard troopers but being on the defensive mad fighting them a bitch dude. So its actually understandable that the dregs + Scabs are holding us off.
Also, has anyone commented on that fact that the 53 steelheads and our blue variant or the armor mirror the 6th scabs?
I understand that the 21st were in the same system but from a water world so they were different but that's actually awesome that we can see the same equipment in loyalist hands. Its exactly what I want with vraxian equipment-which we also have! their autoguns that is...hey, speaking of which, why do these guys use AG and not lasguns? They spend all their dockets on their fancy flak armor?
You get autogun options in the stock guard kit
That and probably aesthetics/bodyguard convenience
It is outright just what the scabs wear but pre chaos
Yeah and I love that!
I thought it was basiclly Lasguns>autoguns in lore? which is why its mostly PDF's that use AG? (and poorer guard regiments) Its even reflected in that of the Scabs/dregs
I would say that a maybe they perfect autoguns because they don't give away your position with every shot, (yes I know lasguns can get flash hiders) but the zealots version of their helmet mentions that they like to charge straight in. Buncha future Khornate beserkers this lot
Yeah it is. though autoguns have the upside of being able to use specialized ammo
Stuff like manstopper rounds
The Moebian 53rd may be using Specialized ammo
I had not considered that 🤔
as it seems like they're an armored regiment judging by the fact they have a "knight commander"
so they have less infantry then a normal regiment
53rd*
yeah sorry my bad
I think I remember us joking about the 21st losing in the straight up fight we saw with wolfer arrival, that the fight would have been even if it was raining
Because ocean worlders lol
LOL
The last remaining guardsmen front the 21st, surrounded by the 6th, when the air gets a little moist.
"Oh, you guys are fucked now!"
when i think about it, the 21st really are the punching bag in this game. their recon teams get obliterated, the 6th owns them in that trailer reintroducing Wolfer, even worse is that they turn into groaners from using blighted stimms.
and here comes the 53rd walking in through Tertium like they own the streets. the commissar saying this is her war to win
Dukane: "send in four platoons". Rannick: "send in four crackheads"
so i see techmarines have like built in what look like bionics on their helmets do they just never take off their helmets or do they have like double bionics
or are they just special helmets that are form fit to go around the bionic when worn
servo harnesses are cool
they make techmarines kinda pog in combat for the average space marine id assume
they attach promethium flamers and things to their servo harness arms
Someone else defended them on here a while ago and there post was well writen. Fact is that the 21st are from a. Ocean world, that same firefight would have gone down fair differently in another enviorment. One thing to note is that the 21st wear lighter armor that normal guardsmen, on their oceanic homeworld, the sixth would run a serious risk of drowning with their heavier flak armor. Also camo schemes. There's more to this but this is from memory.
My headcannon is that the 21st don't have the backing to get a lot of the higher end gear like the 6th and 53rd do. Both the golden child regiments from their very powerful and prosperous homeworlds.
That doing a choice by them to not have heavier armor due to drowning risk is also an interesting arguement for why they might not choose to wear the high quality gear we see the 6th and 53rd wear.
Anyways, came here to ask if anyone know what's going on in the center of the galaxy? There's a giant warp space ink-strain in the center of the map that seems like it'd be a bigger deal than the eye of terror at this point.
probably wreaking havoc on the supermassive black hole(s) and star in the center of the galaxy. Seems kinda important
the Votann live there iirc
It fucking sucks, it’s basically the eye of terror 2
They don’t, they do live close to it though
so thats why that one short story about the 2 Votann arguing mentions battling the chaos marines at the center of the galaxy then
are there any FTL vessels that can be piloted by a single individual?
So that's probably one of the reasons why they allied with a cult. More manpower.
...
Although it would be wild to fight like
A tank
Actually that sounds fun
Fighting against a baneblade
Yeah, also some are so augmented they’ve stopped removing their helmets
very much agree with this
I like the more pastel pink tbh
more room for vile thoughts
Daemon juice
Why would you judge such model with the demonstration* colours?
I mean they're just theorycrafting colour schemes I think
Its a common thing yeah
we are presented with a "official" look and it sometimes is offputting
I go with model details more than the painter impression.
Maybe because I'm used to look at grey plastic presentations.
I know the models look good but the more saturated colours make them look better
Been to busy on Marvel Rivals
need lore
plz provide
has the imperium discovered the sw corner of the galaxy yet, where monks run around with lightsabers
The astronomicon's light barely touches the borders of the milky way
oh how come I never knew that, I thought they found like warp planets while getting lost in the warp that dont exist in the milky way
Lmao no
like sicarius, that planet where lorgar hangs out
the Warp is like a completely different realm
or the one where mortarion farts around
the other factions realistically have no want/need to explore beyond the Milky Way
all the objectives everyone have/want are in here
is the warp a different dimension or realm
Yes to both.
because is it like multiversal when you warp travel
Its a metaphysical endless reality where nothing really makes sense
Yes and no
so you teleport into another dimension when you wanna warp jump, and then come out back to your own
like, authors like to pull the multiverse sometimes and other authors dont because as you can assume yourself it makes the setting itself feel small/pointless
time travel is also a thing in 40k but thankfully not too explored minus some other examples
because it always cheapens settings
Yeah stuff like Endgame proved that
it just creates WAY too many convenient/dumb complications
oh this guy died " why dont we just time travel and fix it like we did 50 episodes ago"
yep exactly lol
its the same with multiverses
okay theres other universes, why should I give a shit about this one then
etc
Don't you just love it when someone takes a magical rock from a timeline and suddenly another version of me got eaten by Godzilla
so the planets in the warp where the daemon primarchs tend to live are in a different dimension from the chaos realms? like nurgles garden etc
They are all in the Warp
from there its just "yes" to any question because the Warp itself is not suppose to make sense as a realm itself
Yeah its perfect for novel confusionism
you can go for a pleasant walk on your warp infested planet and end up in khornes realm
like you can walk the garden of nurgle for a thousand years and never find its end but some Death Guard ship docked there can do some sidequest and leave in like a "week"s time
also this too yeah
its literally "lol idk"
chaosgate was funny that way
when draigo and a bunch of grey knights go to the actual garden
by following a daemons soul or some shit
then the squad of grey knights decide to stay with draigo in the warp and are presumably all dead by now, except draigo ofc
Yeah the best way to explain it is it works in the whims of the story lol. In the game you gotta go and get this shit done, but if it was some other person writing the thing for a codex they would say some wild shit like "Oh this journey took them a DECADE"
Its loose rules-wise like with most things Chaos to allow writers room/freedom for narrative stuff
that's why warp travel is also funny as hell
it goes well more times than not but sometimes
warp travel sounds kinda trippy to be honest
you guys just jumped and suddenly 1 billion years just passed
like you can be warp teleporting and look out the window and see floating daemon heads and sparkling lights and shit
and that was considered successful
only a few die and went insane
well few relatively speaking
space hulks are very nice too as a concept

its got nice inherent grimdark mystery bult into it
the imperium architecture in space hulks only adds to the thing
like the alien movies are creepy enough, just imagine with giant abandoned space cathedrals
They are also perfect for adventure material
like
"Hey guys I need an adventure for our squad what or where can we go?"
spacehulk pops out of the Warp
"Oh hey! It has some mcguffin/relics we need conveniently inside!"

how about a carcass of rotting metal and a forgotten age
that is the motto of warhammer very convenient
How do we stop this giant super demon that can level an entire city with a punch how about this conveniently placed super weapon behind us
also it occurs to me the techpriest characters tend to be extremely based and highly competent usually
from lunete to hadron to cawl
Kinda. It depends.
The people you are talking about are halfway sensible.
Like any organisation its never a concrete basis.
Brutal cunning moment
Admech is an organisation compromising humans across the entire galaxy all with differing personalities and goals
a large chunk of the admech is absolutely rotted
well
kelbor hal could use more representation as a dark mechanicum leader
he just kinda founded the thing and then left
Yeah thats kind of a known thing
he literally does nothing for a good chunk of 30k lol
he just appeared in the ending of the Siege books prologue and its pretty funny as hes just fucking around in his sanctum before the amount of chaos influence-corruption makes him screech

Im sure we'll find out what happens to him eventually post-Siege
ah yes
the dark king

I was glad I forgot about that
that reminds of the gold king thing now, which is suspicious valdor theory
Its a nice concept
but uhh we'll see in 10 years or more IRL if its ever re-visited
👩‍🦼‍➡️
its good that the dark mechanicus has some tangible reasons to fall apart from the emperor is not the avatar of the omnissiah
the emperor is not the avatar of the omnissiah, so we now are going to provide tech to all the followers of the chaos gods so we can kill everyone
admittedly, chaos titans being a thing is awesome
Its a mix of things since darkmech beliefs are about as mixed as the actual admech
oh nice
also vashtorr is nice insofar as hes a tech based character
although, my favourite about 30k has to be the absolutely gigachad levels of badass first captains
savitar is autistic, but hes still kind of a beast
so is sigismund
and garro
and loken
raldoron
GRAHHH I HAVE TO, MINE IS CURRENTLY JUST WORSE ASTRAL TEMPLARS
silver 2
adam warlock and groot
i aim to acheive pro warlock
what abt u
Bucky, Venom, Punisher, trying to do magik
yes
Im pretty good with bucky
yeah?
why do space marines enjoy spitting on eachother so much
Astartuah
Anyone know if the tzaangors turning humans into more tzaangors is only an AOS thing or 40k/old world as well?
Both.
Beastmen in all settings come from mutated humans
daemonic-esque rules are also just kinda universal across all warhammer settings
or natural born
ya figured most if not all or natural born, but the tzaangor shamans were the only one explicitaley mentioned as bolstering their ranks by casting mutation spells on humans to progigate
Yeah its suppose to be like an ironic thing
since beastmen originate from beastmen parents or humans
I killed them all, not just the beastmen, but the beastwomen and beastchildren too
Shout out to when tzeentch cursed a shitload of people to turn into tzaangors in AOS somehow
beastman is my stage name
My stage name is Nagash supreme lord of the undead
My stage name is Gordrakk the Fist of Gork
My stage name is Anathema Skywalker ~~ the true name of the emperor~~
also, apparently valdors spear is so busted, when it strikes someone it grants valdor insight into their character and history , including what their faction gets upto and their individual motivations
also, I like the custodes more now because their contentions kinda make sense when it comes to other transhuman subjects of the emperor
like if you were around before the heresy and are still around, you kinda see the space marine creation and you can now tell them " Loyal? his angels? you know like half of you are literally traitors"
" you see any traitorous custodes running around? do you?"
Yeah he and Russ got twin spears which did weird stuff, Valdor gets a bit of knowledge from whatever he kills with his
yeah poor guy cut abaddon and saw the next 10, 000 years of imperium failure into the future and got depressed
Valdors is the Apollonian Spear, Russ’s is the Dionysian Spear
It’s on Fenris currently with the chapter
He didn’t like it at the time but he sorta came around on it, he preferred swords and axes.
your average skyrim player being like " ancient swords? gimme those dual wield nordic axes"
also valdor is interesting somewhat, I kinda forgot hes basically got the same imperium changing potential as malcador
Even some of the new custodes created after the heresy haven't turned traitor
Those first big lads before the primarchs arrived are just neat in general.
well they make a good point when it comes to acknowledging astartes, since the custodians do point out that how awful it is to have traitorous primarchs and astartes, they tend to cause problems yknow what I mean
Malcador, Valdor and Hector
Very neat guys
Space marine Hector
First legion master of the first legion
hector hammerhand
He was considered the emperors “left hand” before Horus arrived
Hector Thrane I think
Wore a Terran kings skull around his waist
Hector Thrane was the first Grandmaster of the First Legion and led them during the Unification Wars and Great Crusade.[1a]
He earned the right to do so, after taking part in the First Legion's victorious battle against the Udug Hul soldiers of the Great King of Akkad. The battle's end saw the Great King's head become a trophy that hung from T...
That’s the lad
Harry Hammerstorm
the actual warhammer
and weirdly anti undead chaos specialist
not that hes only good at killing undead
I would hope with a hammer like that he’d be good at killing most things
Mhm
idr
have yet to return to TWWH3 after many years, hope he's good though, sounds cool. Should watch Turin's tourneys again
same
Il actually play it now when the games finished its update and dlc cycle
id rather play it when its totally 'finished' now
also harry the hammer is free dlc iirc, so you can try him whenever
ye
and yes, he can solo armies
makes the part of the trailer where he squares up w/ Vlad funnier. 'Finally a worthy opponent'
what? I forgot about that part
ah, common End Times L
end times
Harald ? Undivided as far as we know
Is he one of those that has the aesthetics of like nailed of one of the gods for example khorne but he's actually an undivided fella
What about the brass ball
That guy completely fits the blood god but apparently he's undivided
harry is also kinda og, apparently one the og wh designers said sigmar was inspired by him
Like all nearly other Beastmen, pledged, but unofficial
he is the original warhammer after all, before ghal maraz and sigmar were introduced
He is the original Hammer bearer
taurox somehow has more personality than khazrak and morghur despite being a raging maniacal brass bull 24/7
and malagor
I will just keep assuming he's a khorne champion because he literally exemplifies two things khorne likes slaughter and brute strength
well khorne also cursed/gifted him iirc
ya he killed/ate the emissary of khorne that was offering him a deal (think it was an unspecified daemon)
Yes, there are also other BM which are basically pledged but never officially recognised
You mean like the exhibit the traits of like a certain god but they are like unofficially pledge
Ye, the God don't really care about them
also fun fact
Yes
mortarion isnt bald
They are now the sea elves
one might assume he is since he wears that cowl, but he had full on emo long black hair
which by now is probably putrid long black hair
it would be such epic memery if dante finally died and the blood angels are like "alright, get his carcass in that dreadnought over there
"
whats that dreadnought like machine the marines ride and these marines arent the semi dead ones
like you can see their entire body visible on the center of the machine and their legs and arms are visible
you mean the invictor warsuit?
that smart people pretends doesnt exist

I dunno, but I swear ive seem some gk in it
that thing doesnt look particularly..safe to be wearing
yeah, huge meme model
it looks safe now nvm
it makes me ask why they dont have dreads that non dead marines can pilot
seems like even the imperium and the mechanicus could figure that out
the dreadnought exists after all
if you can make primaris marines and primaris gear you can probably make a pilotable dreadnought
see above
theres more to producing warsuits besides "just make em"
also 40k is not a mecha-setting so thats another one

Yeah most people pretend it doesnt exist
looks a lil lego-ish
its a suit
warsuit
The Invictor Tactical Warsuit is a lightly armoured walker that is often found fighting alongside Vanguard Space Marines on recon missions. It is designed with sound-dampening materials, enabling the Warsuit to move at great speed with minimal noise output, in support of the the pilot's Vanguard brethren.
non life support marines can pilot it
This empire has to to spread all of its resources to also make like what a billion types of weapons and multiple of its variations
The imperium waste is astounding
well
but yeah uh
this thing hasnt been mentioned since like 2019
you can prob guess why
the uber giant cathedrals with ostentatious interiors seem kinda..much
It looks like something that james cameron would put on avatar
the problem is the AP Suits are cooler
and make more sense lol
One of my favorite suits of armor for real for real
same
also, I didnt know centurion armor existed
Ah my favorite faction
HUMANITY
And great inspiration for the Titans in Titanfall
A lot of people also pretend it doesnt exist
Is this transformers what cars do they become
Forgot how chunky this armor was
doesnt look enough like a junkyard explosion to be one
apparently unlike termie armor, centurion armor doesnt interface with their skintight black bodysuit thing
This also speaks ridiculousness to warhammer because a single brute can genuinely win against an amp suit
What about A Jaeger vs a Warlord class Titan
so you just wear it as a giant shell
Jaegers do kungfu and shit
Yeah and more often than not they will rely on their shields
the moment a jaeger starts running around it and grabs a titan its basically over lol
Without those things those are nothing more than just giant artillery platforms
That can be easily taken out by well placed artillery
its like that scene in Exodite
where all an eldar titan does to a massive warlord is like
run
Striker Eureka’s mobility and Cherno Alpha pounding the fuck out of a warlord Titan would be great
jaegers are more like imperial knight levels of maneuverability but titan sized
Yeah i will say they will definitely lose to a warlord
Knightsare roughly the size of a big manor or telephone poles usually
well, like I said, they probably can do kungfu and judo throws
Crimson typhoon my beloved
They will definitely need a lot more fire power to bring down an emperor titan
i dunno if a jaeger can tank a hit from an emperor titans cannon tbh
toooooo bad pacific rim 2 sucked
pacific rim 2?
best kaiju movies are monsterverse these days
there was never a sequel
yes, it never existed, i know, i know
What you talking about 2
true

Maybe a two on one?
pacific rim vs godzilla x kong would be an insane movie. never to happen, of course
they can get oneshot by an emperor titans multi melta or something
saving this post for a few years down the road
when you regret it

There was never a sequel to pacific rim
god this always gets me
also what was the name of that gk powersuit and why dont people like it
Well yeah but like i'm sorry but godzilla right now is 394 ft tall
Titan crew: goes through sacred rituals just to get it to wake up. Jaeger pilots:
He is going to pick up a jaeger like it's a toy
yeah i guess so, they're around 75 meters/246 feet
jaegers dont have the kind of firepower to take down an emperor class titan or godzilla
would need to be an experimental jaegar or some shit
god never fails to get me fucking hype
well, if they survive long enough they can probably actually climb an emperor class titan and stab the cockpit or something
https://youtu.be/vh7RjES2BUY?si=7_0yRIGfpCqtrmIq also people kind of forget nowadays legendary godzilla could charge up with enough power to drill through the core of the earth
#godzilla #godzillavskong
such peak bullshit
and he's even stronger now
A Titan may have its arsenal. But a jaeger has fingers, so they can flip em off with two giant mechanical hands
He will kill a group of Jaegers with a single atomic breath
That too
godzilla in 40k though
its gonna eat so many nukes for snacks
and power up
and probably get corrupted by chaos too
godzilla from minus one would also destroy the jaegers i suppose, though not in a melee fight im sure
Nah he doesn't do that
He would probably be try to adapt to the planet where you air drop him in
Well the thing is they have a lot of things that they can throw at him to bring him down eventually
godzilla gets into 40k, can somehow sense that the entire universe is fucked, and he spends the rest of his life charging up a giga beam to shoot at tera no matter how far away he is
He might be powerful yes but with enough guns and grinded down sacrificed men eventually he is going to die
nurgle corrupted godzilla would be so dope
And worst case scenario they can always throw an exterminatus his way
godzilla wont survive a planet being destroyed, probably
I think he can survive exterminatus by going to the core of the planet
He survived the extension level event and being dropped from orbit but
I will say that's where i draw the line yeah
doesnt exterminatus just destroy the surface
even if he could survive it idk what he'd do in the middle of space
Godzilla’s seeing the state of 40k is gonna be like that family guy cutaway when he saw Haiti and went back into the ocean
oh fuck. godzilla could totally absorb solar radiation and become spaceship godzilla
its gonna be amazing when godzilla discovers the tyranids and decides to fight them all to compete as the alpha monster
Or the tyrannids adapt to his radioactive weaponry and absorb him
His powerful but with enough attacks and you know smart thinking you can bring him down
well tyranids actually might have the best chance of killing him
And considering this is 40k there are a lot of things
That can definitely bring him down
Orbital bombardments from ships or
Literal artillery barrages
well 3 titans can bring him down
Squads of titans
I would wager at least six
Remember his atomic breath can reach a planet's core
its not like godzilla is immune to titans his sieze wielding reaper chainswords
Godzilla is not immune to a virus bomb
I'm not remembering it but like around 20 times the energy output
So yeah he's more powerful but you know he is still a creature that needs to breathe
One dreadnought can kill him
And considering how grindy the imperium is in war eventually they will bring him down
but the imperiums not gonna deploy all those smart tactics, what the imperium is gonna do is deploy the death korps of krieg so we can watch them bayonet charge godzilla by the millions and die
They don't do that
unless the virus can survive this sort of thing...https://youtu.be/5BxqahE0fu8?t=59
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
Scene: Nuclear Godzilla vs King Ghidorah
Playlist: https://is.gd/s1idMm
Storyline: The crypto-zoological agency Monarch faces off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.
Director: Mich...
why is monsterverse so cool
Krieg shock assault infantry specialist and artillery
But they are also smart enough to not throw their lives willie milly
if monsterverse had no human scenes they'd be so fuckign good
or if the human scenes were less transformers and more minus one
minus one was pretty darn awesome
Yeah but monsterverse adopts godzilla and his non serious version while minus one is the serious version
Which works to be honest because he's just the type of character
He can fit any mold
Serious funny creepy
You name it
yeah but id rather just rewatch minus one than any current monsterverse film personally
like kong with the infinity gauntlet is a nice meme, but its not fun watching that shit for 2 hours personally
i think if you made a supercut of all the fight scenes of the monsterverse then it'd be pretty awesome
and worth watching similar to minus one
or any large cgi scene in general
Yeah but it's cool i don't need a reason for something to be cool
Assumedly virus bomb can survive that
If it's an exterminatus bombardment he will definitely die
Slowly die
But if it's a virus bomb i think he's going to be fine
His immune system is
Literally a radioactive reactor
i think if the humans in monsterverse really wanted to they could kill godzilla anyway. 40k is even more advanced
they almost beat godzilla with mechagodzilla afterall
Have you seen mechagodzilla
indeed
Though to be fair godzilla was tired when he was fighting him
vulkan vs godzilla
If godzilla was fresh i think he would have had a better chance
Remember he just drilled through the hollow earth and fought kong
we'll see when he goes against mecha ghidorah, one day
do dreadnoughts have machine spirits
well ,nvm im sure they do actually
even a bolter has a machine spirit
Virus bomb eats the core of the planet.... which is a bit hotter than a nuclear reactor
They also have a human spirit
more like a pile of meat spirit
no disrespect to my man rylanor
you the real hoomie
But yeah virus bombs are exterminatus
Or is there another type I dont know about
Like stage 1
arent there exterminatus that only damage the surface of the planet and dont blow it up like a bomb
I did say that exterminatus will definitely at least end him or slowly kill him
because Im sure people go down to the surface of planets that have been exterminatus'd
and its a dead world yes, but you can walk on it
still a planet
Assumedly the atomic kindnwpuld strengthen them
Yes
Rad scouring
a space marine
INSIDE
of a space marine
yes
Heh, gay
apparently it doesnt bond to their black carapace
so they wear it like a shell
and any average sm can wear it
unlike termie armor
not that termies are hot shit, they die a lot
usually to hype up whomever they are fighting
but at least termies have missile launchers
thaats useful
oh damn
apparently chaplain dreadnoughts are mounted with loudspeakers
so you hear this metaliic half dead zealot chaplain screaming all over the battlefield
been reading Eisenhord, and i noticed that Interrogator is like an inquisitorial student
and i thought, isnt Rannik behave a bit too sassy for a student?
hes if i recall right at the end of being an interrogator
Well he is currently the acting inquisitor considering that grendel is mucking about somewhere
i think atoma was supposed to be like hes last trial before moving up might be pulling this out of my ass
more so the assistant coach for a sport's team when the other main coach is absent for a practice day
doesnt he just sit on his ass? i dont remember him doing something meaningful
he shot the one person
He quite literally manages a good chunk of the operations everyone does
oh yeah, he pointed out the impostor
he's just here to say among us
like what
For example highly important surgical operations like the new mission
Where we had to prevent the ritual
He also manages a lot of relations with the imperial forces on the planet like commissar dukane
so he himself went there to scout?
No he acts like a commander
bruh
oh that makes sence
Yeah he also has to manage and deal with the mourningstar
And remember he's an interrogate so if he went out of his way to go to the planet the heretics are going to find the way to execute him
and what does Explicator mean, is it like even less that Interrogator?
because if on the off chance he does die that leaves the operation in either morrow, zola or dukanes hands and none of those are going to end well
Morrow would have this whole mess sorted in 10 minutes
Explicator - The first step of an Inquisitor in training, they learn how to extract information using torture under the direction of their mentor Inquisitor
morrow is a 5000 true level veteran
Basically starting out their career on becoming an inquisitor
morrow would be the best out of the three but i still dont think hed know how to handle a lot of the current situations especially how fast its deteriorating
he solos smh
oh damn, kasrkin are gene coded to not be able to fire at high value friendly targets
scions in general
so like if a commissar crosses their sights they literally cant pull the trigger
thats so sad
truly grimdark
you cant even shoot your moronic commanding officer
although apparently its got huge benefits
because if they are escorting a vip and get surrounded they can fire freely without being scared of shooting the vip
You can however set up A Series of Unfortunate Events and kill them that way
true
There are ways to fix that (frag grenades in general direction)
like how the fuck does that pilot linking shit work?
also the line "we made our own monsters" still goes hard
Just really looked at the back of the neurotyrant model and realized it's got two other brainy tyranids merged into it that's cool
Science fuckery
so jaeger means hunter
which explains why it is so popular for mechs/mech names/types
The basically linked up with each other and sync their minds together
That's literally it
Each one of them becomes a part of the brain like left hemisphere and right hemisphere
i guess controlling something like that was too much for a single person
Yeah that's why they develop the drift
understandable from what i have seen of the jaegers
they move in ways that something that big just shouldnt be able too
Yeah think of like one pilot as like half a brain
And when they drift both pilots become a full brain
Why dont they just get twins and kill one of them and put their soul in the mech like Eldar?
Way easier
AI Jaegers will take the jobs of hardworking Jaeger pilots. what a world.
You’re not supposed to say the second part out loud smh
Evangelion ahh
Oh no we’re getting weird again
Its ok, if anyone heard I'll just have a warlock wipe their short term memory
It’s the seer council doing that shit smh
This is #40k-lore-chat we clown in this MF! Take your sensitive ass to #theorycrafting
Not some random warlock
Eldar Knights are piloted by twins or triplets Ect.
BORN AGAIN!
one of the siblings needs to be dead
Ghost Drifting has a Slew of other issues
Wait so my copilot can see the last time I touched my pee pee
Eh, the eldar seem to be ok...
yeah its lifted straight from evangelion
Yes
Yes.
Is it not a twin?
you creepy fuck

well is a sibling not a twin
LOL
Did I consume meme lore
Thought it HAD to be a twin?
Nah its a twin but like its literally still your sibling
Okay yeah
Evangelion is their moms isn’t it
Just my wording of it dont worry
Yep
In any case Ulthwe seer council making your twin mysteriously die
and I think twins are like REALLY rare in eldar society
Eldar titans are heavily evangelion
After they say they need a wraithknight
no, for example i ghost drifted with like another pilot for a jaeger since i can only pilot it alone, congratulations now i have memories i never owned and think i'm a completely different person
Imperial Knight pilots
Actually its more like DID
I actually really like tau mech designs, I like how they look like bots from Total Annihilation
Im a sucker for that boxy look, I blame Metal Gear lol
A known anomaly after Drifting is called "Ghost Drifting", as confirmed by the likes of Dr. Caitlin Lightcap herself. "Ghost Drifting" is said to be unanticipated consequence of the Neural Handshake. Pilots are said to find that their link remains slightly active after they've been disconnected from the hardware.[12]
Pilots who Drift with one another long enough begin to adopt certain character traits of their partners, but still retain their own core personalities and behaviors.[13] They also have an uncanny way of predicting the thoughts or feelings of their partners without actually expressing them through words. As an example of this, Crimson Typhoon's pilots, the Wei Tang Brothers, displayed uncanny synchronicity between each other while playing basketball together and were also able to easily predict each other's moves before they actually occurred.
Tau mechs go hard
bruh pacific rim lore???
this is just one of the side effects of drifting normally by the way
I love mecha which is like
box with massive WMD gun on it
that's why the pilots of crimson typhoon are uncannily coordinated
Armored core 5
ew no
Lol
Mmmmm metal gear
Cant be...
I legit love these things though
like holy fuck
whatever this thing is pointing at is dead
there's two types of giant robot enjoyers
TAUNAR SUPREMACY SUIT RAAAAAAH
I hate the taunar because it always reminds me of that Imperial Armor issue we never got due to Bligh dying
sigh

Im pretty sure its only art image is from that cancelled thing as well lol
Rip fires of cyraxus
Yep
I’m sad fires of cyraxus never came out
For selfish reasons
Tbh
the taunar is the largest tau warsuit right
Yes
Imperial Armor is legit timeless
Well
i am such a massive sucker for moving parts like that head part in AC6
I think
Yeah it’s the taunar
It’s meant to take out imperial knights in one shot
i just love it when you can see the transformation from fuck around to find out mode lol
Or kill titans
yeah kill anything from imperial knights or above
so those weapons can punch threw a void shield?
Break it and then kill the titan
despite bieng a riff on like, mecha stuff i feel like the Tau being aliens make them pretty unqiue compared ot them
nbut also the only mech contant ive consumed is battletech
Western mecha
Transformers are alien mecha...
ngl armored core feels like a hybrid of western and eastern mecha, all the more reason i am shocked i never heard of it before 6
Add Battltech to that list because it doesnt really fit into the Pacific Rim kind of western mecha
I was betting on Armored Core 6 during TGA show for 3 years before it finally got the trailer.
true
It’s def eastern mecha for all the gens except 5
With how fast armored cores are
from what i have seen mot of them where fairly slow
Gen 1 to 3 are slower then 6 but constrained by the time period
They’re fast compared to everything else in game
true
Gen 4 is literal meth
Core 4 is godlike.
afaik the NEXT of 4 where literally gods next to the average armored core
Yeah
Core 5 mech are the smallest of the series though.
mhm but they can walljump!
Which is fun
yeah the NEXT made the ACs little more than MTs lol
armored core 6 had walljumping in code
funnily enough
unclear if its leftover bits from AC5 or if they were actually planning on intergrating walljumping
how do walljump with tank treads?
You didn't
Core 4 to 6 used the same engine from Demon Souls to Elden Ring.
I believe people found some soul game leftover in AC6 files.
I almost 100% AC6, but got bored trying to get S rank in all missions.
still hoping for a DLC
prolly happening
its inevitible with how Fromsoft historically has done armored core releases
true
Either that or we get Armored Core 6 2
plus the head director said he is planning to shift his focus to armored core and leave the souls games to the other team leads iirc
thats what I meant
Only Core 1 and 2 are direct sequence.
AC from 4 to 6 will absolutely destroy about any mech in WH40k. You can't change my mind about it.
I LOVE KOJIMA PARTICLES
ngl I love the sfx of the Coral weaponry
in AC6
the like "scream" sound they make
In fact, I know about the Moon Light blade from Armored Core series.
I’ve wondered if it’s worth getting AC
Assassin Creed or Armored Core?
is the difference between western adn eastern mecha just if capitalism is a factor?
No
Western Mecha is like
genreally mechs are slower, less human shaped or more brutalist looking
Asian stuff is eastern
i was half joking tbh
is transformers western mecha
Eastern mecha is more human shaped, faster, ect.
so like imperial knights
Armored core
or is that different
where does spiderman fall on this list?
not explictly nowadays
I see i see
Go with Core 6, it is easier to follow and more beginner friendly.
you can have a western animator/game producer/artist ect. do eastern mecha stuff
like I.E Metal Gear is western mecha(for the Metal Gears)
but the developer is obviously Konami
which is in Japan lol
Transformers is based off of Supaidaman which is based on Spiderman
Most other ACore games are in completely different timelines, so it doesn't matter that much unless you really want to dig in it. They are also insanely more difficult.
which is neither gundam or pacific rim
therefore I suppose a third categoruy
Pacific Rim is like
hmmm. aren't the metal gears created by america or Russia or thereabouts in metal gear?
Ultraman/ultraman ripoffs
I think?
I don't remember
I think Gundam are ironically a mix between the two
Like
best zord is the suv zord
And technically Transformers is Eastern because they were created in Japan first
Metal gears are the result of the arm race. Made by many countries.
Specifically both the toyline and G1 cartoon
Yeah
considering they aren't controlled by anything
yeah mecha implies a pilot
its just a robot alien
yeah like what aren't they literally living creatures of their own
Gundam is def Eastern Mecha
why are you calling them a mecha
mecha is a robo suit driven by a pilot
Technically you could say their spark but that's the same as "we are controlled by our brains".
Pacific Rim doesn't fall neatly into classification due to visual design but they work like western styled mechs
the best mecha anime is infinite stratos
so whatever
Zaku really stand out though.

its cool
I know that but like I'm asking why do people call transformers mecha
Big robot punch big monster
cuz robots I guess
Zaku has human shape, but they feel so much more militarized than the Gundam.
is titanfall mecha
yes
its eastern styled mecha
with a lot of western influence
mostly due to shape/functionality
Halo has mecha.
Doom, too.
I tried to look up ultraman fighting a 40k titan and this came up
"In Japanese, "mecha" may refer to mobile machinery or vehicles (including aircraft) in general, piloted or otherwise."
llol
is a transformer a mobile machinery? is it racist to say they are? hmmm
nah they are literally aliens
yeah but they're also machine-like as all hell
just using the forms of vehicles like some biblically accurate angels
Evangelion is obvious
Although wtf would the angels count as
Transformer Armanda is one of the well known mecha show from Japan, lol.
Monsters?
Monsters
peak cinema was when they used the ship as a baseball bat
Saying transformers not "mecha" is really head definition.
demons or something like that
I mean they're also technically human.
Also a good watch
Armanda also has the best version of StarScream, the dude was loved.
Probably one of the few ones that tried something different other than
"I betray Megatron"
Even then a lot forget to realize that during G1, Starscream was actually correct a lot of the times.
He constantly poked holes in Megatron's plans and was right like 95% of the time.
He probably would've been a much better leader. He was a fucking scientist.
Problem is that G1 Decepticons don't value intelligence that much
also megatron was a gat
he just waiting to go off
"SCIENTIFIC GOOBLDEYGOOK"
Kinda wish there was another attempt at an Armada style Starscream.
Would've been interesting
SSSS.Gridman and its spin-off are also another mecha sentient series from Japan.
Or just a slow descent.
Like a Starscream that is loyal at first
But after the constant abuse, millions of years of war, etc
He starts betraying Megatron because he genuinely believes that he can end the war if he just takes over.
Would be interesting to see
The sequences of Armanda are so bad.
When wanted to make Scorpion into something like StarScream, but it got scrapped so quick and turned Scorpion into generic decepticon.
Armada has the classic anime tropes.
Close up shocked faces, slow panning, etc.
But it was still a good show all things considered
G1 Starscream still lives rent free in my head though
I only like Armanda out of the trilogy.
I just ignored everything after Armada tbh

Demolishor* is another decepticon in Armanda that stopped waging war. But then right on the 2nd episode of the next show, dude is turned evil again.
does it have based anime tropes...if you know what I mean
It is so fucking stupid.
God damn status quo resets
Hate em
Also hate the fact that they revived Starscream
AND ERASED HIS MEMORY
It's why I ignore everything after Armada
Armada Starscream had a good ending
@arctic talon On the subject of Western and Eastern, what would Wraithknight be?
Eastern due to how fucking alien it is
Body shape gives a bit of Evangelion vibes
I think the only "western" mechas are like
Imperial Knights and Titans
I just think the separation of West and East styles stupid.
If they look like mechwarrior they western
I generally think 40k has a lot of anime inspiration
I mean just
Just fucking look at it
you mean the tau?
Just in general tbh
because they were definitely made to cater to gunpla
Also the Eldar are more weeaboo than Tau
But the Tau are definitely asian inspired for sure
which they stole from tolkien
The big ass swords
Shit is flying far with that.
Big ass everything
not sure how to tell you this but anime did not invent big swords
I know
Wraithknight is pretty much the scaled up version of normal eldar...
and is inferior to the dreadknight
You forget latex and BDSM.
EVAs were technically humans.
Yeah every monster and Mecha you see in Evangelion is biologically human
this is in both of those
Ok, you got me.

felinid
one of the og writers was really into bdsm
probably the dude who wrote the imperial fist tramp stamps
Ian Watson
Im talking about the imperium itself...

I fucking love the IF, but holy shit their love for pain...
when ever i hear old hammer and kinky stuff my first thought is Ian Watson lol
which has apparently mostly been retconned
I still have no idea how GW made the Deldar even more bdsm inspired than the Imperium
MAGIC PAIN GLOVE.
Jokes aside it does make sense.
Like
The Imperium is literally a death cult
Suffering and martyrdom is their creed
In general a lot of the Imperium basically believe in some crazy shit equivalent to like
Heaven's Gate if you think about it
"i had to ensure my sons came to appreciate the codex the same way i had, after a week of excruciating torture"
The funniest part is that a good portion of his Gene-Sons basically still refused even after the Iron Cage.
You may know them as the Black Templars
does that say more about them or the book?
Who still probably use their copies of the Codex as toilet paper.
But tbf Guilliman also kinda hated his book. He didn't mean for it to be taken THAT literally
Basically it was just meant as a basic guideline
Change and edit depending on preferences and such
something most Ultramarines do afaik, its only the rookies that follow it to the letter
