Didn't they have atrocious casualties too lol
Not really in the planes just getting scattered and everyone killing eachother
Brécourt Manor Assault, a very important engagement for the 101st
Though I think soviets defined the way how paratroopers would be used in future
Spoiler - infantry
the entire normandy invasion did
gotta put things in perspective
Alright the history teacher is here how can I help
there was no way to win the war without it
Airborne was, and will, always be in high intensity combat. They have so many counter, but are irreplaceable.
Do paratroopers suck
Yea they fucking blow
only work against an extremely disorganized enemy or in complete stealth
I can't stress enough how D-Day was really an "All or Nothing" event.
what about in WW2 without anti air missiles
Stealth and paratroopers seem to be a completely opposite things

I mean not really
there is a distinct spectrum
They performed moderately
Forget about it now tbf but back then it could work sometimes
honestly idk how paratroopers would do these days
To clarify I mostly meant in modern context
the US loves to train for jumping
They die
gotta ruin the service member's knees somehow
You don't do paradrop operations
You are just infantry
they still train for it is the weird part
What happened to those guys that hit the water instead of ground
Traditions
What makes you think that?
Sill paradrop is a rudimentary way to deploy your forces
Was a failure
AA development
British Paratroopers got rekt in market garden

german paratroopers took insane casualties on crete
hey same can be said for the A-10 warthog but against what the US is fighting they always have air supremacy
Thus our VDV reformed into DSHV mostly abandoning paradrop part and just being highly mobile
You don't seem to have a big picture.
I think operation varsity is one of the only successful widescale airborne ops
He just pulls out a gun instead of finishing the spell
Big picture of what? Doing WW2 style drops in modern Warfare is insane
Mobile infantry > paratroopers
Didn't the VDV get skull fucked during their first attempt at de nazi fying that airport in the kraine
Paradrops had insanely high casualiy rates when contested and even if not, there was no real way to resupply them once they landed. It's basically a suicide mission.
They did
the radiomen were only like 90% fatality
You say that they don't do paratrooper operation, which is false.
god this reminds me of Modern Warfare 2 where like, the russians are doing a mass paratrooper drop
and the moment one fucking russian paratrooper lands on a roof
Red Dawn vibes
a marine with a humvee minigun splatters ihm
The way the operation works is the same as WW2.
ranger
most us airborne use static line now dunnit
Eh same thing
mmm
shooty mcsoldier man
red dawn when fucking north korea just drops people in the middle of the US
The fact that it was originally gonna be China too
cant risk that market!
We will never do another attack D-Day style, but it doesn't mean there is no invasion operation.
They had initial succes at repelling our forces from airport, but later they were cut off from their air support and were encircled and destroyed
trained redneck*
nah rangers don't boat like marines
Just watch the videos of the invasion of Ukraine. Swarms of helicopters flying in the middle of the day. I'm surprised any actually made it to their destination.
north koreans would be fuming if they had internet
Modern warfare is hilarious
Modern paratrooper operation is - guys on helicopter secure the airfield for a plane that carries even more guys
Evidence shows, if the North Koreans had internet they'd all be gooning
the early mid 2000's showing Russia as like some massive unstoppable military force in games and looking at them now is- 💀
It's like a few years ago people say trench warfare is obsolete...
tbf times have changed since the 2000's
I respect any soldier but man Marines going "im not a soldier dont call me that again" get off your fuckign high horse lol
for the weaker
Russia invading the middle east, US and all of Europe all at once within 2 days of eachother
Literally concurrent battles of US East Coast, Paris and Hamburg like wtf is going on
Out here it wasn't
anyone who knew anything didnt say that
Yet people are still dying in trenches in modern wars.
semper fi motherfuckers
Closer to an air assault, but yeah. Basically the only thing they can do is rapidly hit critical infrastructure and pray they get relieved before the enemy mobilizes properly and annhilates them.
DUDE
Teleporting Russian Armies
it's not a drill instructor it's a drill sergeant
entertainment
sloppa!!!
No see they don't even do that
They're literally actively fighting in 99% of europe all at once + the US
MW3 was smoking that Russian superioity pack
forget what the navy calls them
Though they are still a formidable foe, at least for us
LOL
Is codslop, it makes marginally less sense than 40k
- Russia
YEAH
but drill chiefs would be a hilarious title
Also america always saves the day
Tbh
Since they're also getting invaded
turns out corruption aint great
show me a game where turkey's military saves the day, then I'll be in awe
Stronghold Crusader
they have one its called crusaders and kings
Again, they still can posses formidable threat
Trench Crusade/j
wooooow
To be fair, most European countries have horribly underfunded militaries.
Yeah but just steamrolling them like that is CRAZY
Yes, but they're far less formidable then initally thought
is my point
that's what the EU is for
Agree
Not even steamrolling again, they're literally fighting in Germany and France at the same time
I mean if the us left thats probably what would happen....
you're assuming they're maintained
I am
Oh absolutely. Russians? Performing a complex operation without it turning into a shitshow?
Never has happened, never will happen.
at this point, no lol
No more eiffel tower...
its why Taiwan has glorious bomb shelters everywhere
I see that as a win
I assume a third explode on launch but it's still dangerous
Did the Soviets win in the east because they were competent or because the Germans were absolute dogshit
russia is basically already out of good cruise missiles
mix of both
they cant maintain shit
They don't actually.
because they were fighting s 2 front war
and horrific supply line issues
do they not
did they decomission that many?
well thats good
Combination of lack of manpower and supplies for Germans and Soviets mobilising in full swing
they were competent. most armies were in WW2
Nope, the CIA was lying so we'd spend more money on our nukes.
Dolfy bit off more than he could chew. Had he not stopped at Dunkirk and continue his advance on the Brits.
They do have nukes, but nowhere near what was estimated.
yeah issue is 2 front war is bad on supply lines
There was never a risk of the world ending.
just build more nukes bro
where they realised Russia's nukes werent that many lol
God I wish I worked for the CIA
And still, non-nuclear state invades larger nuclear one and hold a bit of its territory still
the cold war basically started because the us accepted the nazi spymaster who spun up yarns about how dangerous the soviets were
Got a better dental plan than the FBI
tbh
Had the cold war gone nuclear, Russia would have been glassed and maybe some European cities. Maybe.
germans were getting pushed back by 1943
I just want to shitpost on the world
same
i hate the western idea that soviets needed to be helped to win
Mutual destruction moment
"TODAY, I BOUGHT EVERY SINGLE NUCLEAR ARSENAL"-MrBeast
Of course, we didn't really know that at the time.
by some outside factor
But still
They did
I mean they did.... the us helped them set up the industrial basis to create vehicles
they were helped, it's not like that was the sole reason they won
Operation Greenlight anyone
without lend lease, the soviets would have fell
Operation unthinkable
Without lend-lease, they would have collapsed.
It was a fraction of it
look guys all im saying is we should have let McArthur drop 54 nukes on the Chinese/Korena border
fullproof plan
trust me
Not collapsed, but probably pushed deeper and took more time to organise

supplies can't be used without soldiers. did the lend lease help? yes. did it win the war? no, soviets made it work
Fuck Mcarthur
correct, but men without equipment is rough
cobalt salted nukes
and would have also failed
supplies can be used badly
not normal ones lmfao
Isn't there a church in rural South Korea that depicts MacArthur as a war deity
Yes, my point is they needed help to win.... not that the US did everything to help the easter front.
They only barely managed to shift their manufacturing to the Ural mountains in time to stop the Germans and that meant nothing without Moscow's rail network. Moscow would not have held out and, even if they could produce enough, they wouldn't have been able to get it to where it needed to be.
an egotistical gloryhound but he was effective in most cases
not in the phillipenes

he would love that
To cut this discussion short, we could only speculate what have happened
I hold him in regard. he kept his promise of coming back at the Battle of Leyte. the First engagement of liberating the Philippines. always wanted to visit that memorial
yeah that was one of if not his biggest failings
There's a chinese made war movie about the battle of Chosin reservior that has Macauthor looking like a Sith lord
the war would have continued. it wasn't as black and white as soviet propaganda wanted it to look. germans trying to take siberia would have been a nightmare
I'd respect him more if he didn't spend hours getting the perfect shot
Chinese war movies are always really funny
because they're all super exagerated and shit
MacArthur ignoring the Chinese saying they'll join the war if anyone but South Korean soldiers cross the parallel and then being surprised by the Chinese joining is kind of ??
I assume thats just American army arrogance tbh
i legit got no idea why he thought that lol
He also was an aristocrat (family of generals)
Russians are not immune to the cold. With no food or infrastructure to support an army, Siberia would have been a death trap
remember he and all of the US at the time thought of Asians as subhuman and not worth worrying about militarily
Russian Civil War showed that still there could be some fighting in there
looks at the 442nd Infantry Regiment
Some fighting.
for both sides, and soviets could have continued amassing in the east. it could have become a war like how the finnish fought the continuation war, and all that while germany would be stretching itself immensely thin
Not the millions against millions that was happening
A lot of assumptions that China would do as Moscow said as well, I just don't get the mentality
Indeed, series of small scale engagements due to terrain strains
they didn't get Sino-Russian politics
and it would end the same way the finns did, with the capitol taken and politicians forcing a loss
the red scare was a wild time and its aftershocks are still felt today
all while the allies are fighting in the west. that's the main point here, the war would have continued
yeah
Still though, taking Soviets out would have been a difficult task
Simply put, soviets without Moscow lose. They didn't lose moscow because of the assistance they got, mainly American.
Ah yes famous border clashes
Which involved Soviet tanks rolling to disputed territory
China in fact still hates Russia
they would not have capitulated at moscow
And Chinese capturing one of them in combat
Not relavent.
anyway why he is such a pompous dick: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:MacArthur_family
The MacArthur family was for over one hundred years active in the affairs of the United States. Among them, there were two Army Generals, two awarded the Medal of Honor (the first father-son pair thus honored), four awards of the nation's second highest combat decoration (one of the Navy Cross for Arthur II and three of the DSC for Douglas), se...
Mh?
silver spoon headass
Not you, misclick sorry
That's how they got their first T-62
because he was an egotistical gloryhound always looking to win praise
I wonder how much of China's military is actually properly equipped
100s of thousands died for his pride
Because Russia is their raw material base
and how much is propaganda
and didn't have to work as hard, because "you can't insult a mcarthur"
a surprising amount but less than they'll officially disclose
yup
They love the ongoing war in Ukraine rn lol
A lot of it is posturing
US is the opposite, they'll lowball the numbers
they're literally squeezing russia for every last drop of money they can
ngl i feel like a good 60% of it is propaganda
lot of jaded talk going on here
literally squeezing blood from gold
if it wasnt they likely would have already invaded Taiwan
They told trump their were only a couple thousand in Afghanistan
nah china does not want war

The whole uh... BRICS economic thing is pretty funny to me
invading Taiwan is something that most people internally in China don't want
Half the members hate each other
despite the government blabbing about it
constantly
Reunification at this point would be a nightmare on the global stage and internally
Have a feeling it would cause populaiton collapse if they tried it
china wants economic supremacy not military
Average ODKB enjoyer moment
sadly the wants of the people dont matter much
They don't have the young people
I'm including low level party members as well
after decades of 1 child policy
Idfk what high level party members think
because they're not allowed to show opinions

because Glory to the CCP
Ackshually itsa the CPC now
China is facing some serious economic troubles that I seriously doubt capturing Taiwan will fix.
Capturing Taiwan is just doubling down
There's a YouTube channel, granted he's a sinoboo, who goes into detail about arming the early Chinese army. Type 56: The History of something something chinese sks
It's very interesting
on its economic issues
it's not like the US where just starting a new war will fix the economy
Pride, I suspect, would be their reasoning for actually attacking
It would be insanely stupid even if it was over fast
Imagine some mod stumbling in here and seeing this wall of text instead of WH40k lore
when is she not?
She was just here
Dw gonna deal with the next 4 years of orange man threatening to invade canada
Yeah but she's not online
Talking about the same stuff
This is tangentially related to 40k
she's hiding
The Big Brother* is watching you
lol he'll move on in a month
I also doubt China could actually meaningfully invade Taiwan.
Joe Rogan already is lol
guy just likes yapping to feel important
They just don't have the naval power to transport massed troops
This is true
Letting Canada off the leash again is a bad idea
hi
Hello
last time they caused the geneva convention to be written
Fuck it I feel like talking about random Comic Book shit.
Y'know Superman: Red Son?
The moment I come back 😭
An interesting movie
you should see the part of the country that's begging for it to happen
is her belt made of chains with locks covering her crotch?
-2 gooner bait I hate trench crusade now
I know their stupid
I just want to change topics. Hoping the image would turn heads
Tbh I think it's one of my favorite DC Elseworlds because of how they tackled Superman.
Because it still feels like him
the word traitor isn't used enough these days
Although he got raised with a different set of values
Yes

it should come back
With an entirely different set of ideals
I allow most topics but it can snowball a bit lol
Ok
understandable
Superman still somehow still feels Superman
Ok ok. What about Ukraine?
China?
Israel?
so how about the sealand empire?
Ban superhero talk
ngl i kinda like the look but they really dont fit with the rest of the faction
How about just a little before dinner just a touch
No- Northern Ireland.
Let's talk about North Korea
Soviet Union - Genestealer plot

(I have not read anything have been gone)
So trench crusade yeah.
Damn it, I keep forgetting North Korea exists
you a billy boy
Chastity is what was meant by this move
Tbh I watched Paper Will's North Korea entertainment retrospective
Genuinely interesting
That’s the forces of Good for ya
Showed it to my dad
I too wanna nail a wooden cross ot my forehead
How dare you
post the cool church automaton
i know but i am more talking about her being naked in general
He got reminded of some of the movies he watched as a kid.
...when he lived in Communist China
Like the armored version literally has a chastity belt on it
Oh that
Yeah strange
what is the socioeconomic consequences of Noxian Expansion/j
Bazongas
“To the sound of my bells, you will die demon” flails to the sound of DING DING DING
Does her chastity belt keep demons at bay or somesuch?
LOL
Like the power of virginity or am I thinking too deep?
Honestly Trench Crusade has gotten so many sick designs
That I have genuinely saved photos and put them in a design doc for possible inspiration
not forehead, directly into the eyes
No?
my name is jeb forest of the south carolina chapter.....
holy shit that artillery luger is going to jam so fast
that's literally just a luger too wtf
beautiful
He is the bayonet
How the fuck does that man even see
Can he even shoot at the enemy
With a cool drum magazine.
Reminds me of the catholics in hellsing ultimate
snail mag actually
he just prays for god to guide his bullets
I feel like that's the same thing?
You can see just fine out of a capirote don't worry
So what the Sisters do
Got it

my face is my shield
War. Has Changed.
War, not changing at all:
because the KKK hood is based off of a priest hat
hehe just put on the abridged
this is true
My favorite one.
Vampire the Mascarade - SECRET SOCIET OF LEOPOLD (or something like that)
There it is
it's the luger specific one
This is what I imagine everytime that is said btw

oof
umg
Those are nasty but easy to kill
Alright then.
i cast "giant fucking bomb of fuck you and everyone near you"
they added some character to the catholic forces in the abridged version
I genuinely can't even tell if that's male or female. Like it probably is male because
I think it's a Space Marine
I
It’s just “here sweetie, Catch!” completely turned to ash
Though, again I PRAISE HOLY BLACK GRAIL
I genuinely cannot tell
Is that what that is?
Satan: “You drop bomb?…we throw Bomb then!”
FLY LORD GAVE US NEW LIFE, HE GAVE US IMMORTALITY
@paper haven idk man you tell me
jeb forrest of the south carolina chapter of the church of the hanging noose
Thanks for swinging by
yeah they are literally called artillery witches lol
I do love capriotes
Hellsing abridged is great
Noose to meet you
Takahata is great as his roles
yeah its a shame dressing up like that in the us raises some..... quesitons
and bad looks
The hound of Beezlebub just has a swollen testicle for all I know

aka people thinking you are like jeb forrest
nah he got banned from the trench crusades reddit
its nosferatu
He is genuinely pretty good at voice acting
I ayually think I should get into Trench Crusade
They were anti-christian and specifically used those
It's like a ww1 40k
Kill-Team*
anti catholic*
Which is what I have always wanted- Death Korps don't count
not anti-christian but anti-catholic
It's a skirmish
Trench Crusade is skirmish scale
so its like
Infinity/Killteam/necromunda scaled
not 40k scaled
Kill-Team
the klan is very heavy protestant
Yeah
Well
i was called an idiot for comparing trench crusade to 40k in a non 40k server
increase the scale
then KT since you have like big dudes
mostly baptist
yup
They said they won't
Come on people, we already know how to do it
Well I was in the dark about it
its too much trouble
A full wargame vs a skirmish scale
is much harder to produce/balance for
they'll do it one day i bet
its also why almost every game thats gone from Skirmish to Wargame has fucking died
they made a million fucking dollars
I mean is ultimate apocalypse balanced?
i live in North Carolina so i know more about the klan than i would like too lol
Trenches are the main thingy
especially if before you were just stocking infantry/big dudes
also yeah they have fully modular terrain already
the latest clan march was in NJ apparently (1980)
Bruh
your state is like a liberal paradise compared to south carolina
Half of it went to corporate bonuses
for Trench Crusade?
i know have a lot of family there
I mean, I assume that's what happened
please tell me you're kidsing
they're a small team
the kickstarter was specifically for buying equipment
they dont even have execs
Give it time
god i hope they use the money well
No, not another GW please
worst case scenario we get stuck with the STLs only
anyway time to play some malice games to get used to the voidblast staff
Does anyone ever use the money well?
Idk
this will be a precedent for people making 40k alrernatives
lets hope they do and it doesnt become another star citizens
There already are 40k alternatives
what
Genuine question, I really want there to be someone who has
trench crusade looks badass and i hope it does well
Ok good
sunless skies
I know of these games but haven't played them
please play FTL it's the best roguelike
As I am terrified of kickstarter games and early access
i think all of owlcat's games where kickstarters
I bought Baldur's gate 3 thinking it was a full game
Divinity Original Sin 1
like there is a long list of kickstarter games that do very well
Think it started with kingmaker
Given that, you know, it was full price.
Then they had enough to make wrath
its just the internet and media loves to focus on the bad
Factorio
Maybe im misremembering
I mean it is a full game now lol
it's a full game now and it won game of the year
but yeah they were selling it for full price on Steam
mfer
during the beta lol
Yeah, two years after I bought it
they didn't Kickstarter it
Or maybe it was only one year, I can't recall but I was angry
I waited for full release of bg3 so i didnt ruin my experience
like ostranauts
and quasimorph
I did buy Forever winter
idk why do people act like Trench Crusade is the only 40k alternative
tabletop wise
its weird to me
I hear the water degradation is an issue in forever winter
there's like a ton of other good wargames
recent alternative
and Skirmish scale stuff
Someone involved in the kickstarter assured me it was a good call
it's getting changed apparently
I'm not intrested in extraction shooters lol
they just added an update to automate water collection
TURNIP28
Thats good
I have mixed feelings about Forever winter and am reserving judgement until it is finished
My current autism simulator is outward
I should try it one day
The free form RPG?
ARMA3
Infinity is good as well
they're californian so i dont trust them but we'll see
as a Skirmish scale game
so are trench crusade

you know that right
it's so over
Womp womp
LOL
Yeah its the only thing that has been able to scratch my kenshi itch
kenshi 2 soon
Inquismunda (technically just expanded necromunda)
Oh anybody remember that Necromunda video game?
Hired gun?
I got that on early access.
or the really shit one
Which one?
I cant wait to completely abandon my morals
That one
original Munda or new one
because Original Munda plays like shit imo
eating people is based, actually
I didn't know that there was original and new one
I thought there was only one
My last playthrough i set up base in tje cannibal plains
You eat people to survive, I eat people to show the cannibals how it is done. We are not the same.
Used cannibal raids for my peeler machine to farm leather
Okay, gather your stuff genestealer fellow, we are taking* you in
Sold hash
smoke grenade
I always go for the cannibal plains.
And started my early game enslaving people
blind hup fire from autogun
That one fishing village, specifically
I only use autoguns
nah the original 2e/3e era one
and then the newer one that came out 7e/8e
I did it too early and had to babysit my base until i unlocked harpoon guns
And then i just gunned them down at my gate
No gates
No harpoon guns
There are walls but I use them more as an arena than to actually keep anyone out
I also did the thing where i kidnapped some guy and beat the shit out of him repeatedly to skill up my guys
If the captive got too strong i would put him in the peeler and get another
Autoguns can be modified more easily and have versatility
Plus they're loud
Plus cheaper
poor
Silencer + subsonic ammo
YES AND WHAT?
Might as well use a lasgun
make more inquisitor roblux
I want people to know I'm shooting at them
No jokes my acolyte from Imperium Maledictum cannot afford normal weapons and uses modified autopistol as their main weapon
Imperium Maledictum?
autopistols are based tbh
Just set him up with a as val and unload into cultists with 9x39
And another Inquisition character in rank of interrogator uses basic pump action shotgun (Dark Heresy)
Yes
Ripper pistols are my favorite
If only I was Ordo Hereticus
Ordo Xenos...
What is that?
Actually- hold on
autopistols are used even by high rank people because you cant get high volume of fire in that scale otherwise
Yes
Is this another 40k rpg?
But it's an autopistol with modified stock, silencer, flashlight and laser sight
Yes
dude that's just a stubcarbine
Looks like an updated Dark Heresy
the GAT
I play both at the same time
With somehow similar characters
Even though it's not intended
Well now I gotta try it out. I wonder if there are any groups I can join
I can point you out to the place where to look for those people
I would appreciate that
Probably Ordo Discordia
True
its like Dark heresy 1e but even more lethal
so in rogue trader you can get a flamer digital weapon, are any other non-las options for digital weapons we know about?
Though miniaturised, they are capable of replicating the punch of full-sized weapons such as laspistols, hellpistols, needle pistols, hand flamers, and Inferno pistols
in the lexi
so yes
so no plasma
It's produced by the science orangutans so
the Jokaero can probably fiddle his way into making one
if they can miniaturize a melta pistol
i'm pretty sure a plasma pistol isn't that ridiculous
true
RT has a plasma ring
i must have missed it
It’s in act 4 or something
I sold all the ring weapons because they aren’t worth a passive slot for me
okay so
its "digi" as in "digit" 👉
not digital

yeah it's not digital
Same
same
yeah like DIgi is usually for Digital in many media
lol yep
so i was like OK it means it's like a digital weapon or someshit
same
Its a far cry from the Forgeworld stuff, its great
That does look pretty cool
Lord Marshal Varnan Dreir
Bruh why do people act like this
Larp power
Thats very accurate
Human moment
Okay this was a funny comment
ngl his name sounds and reads like something they pull out of a random name generator
which isnt a bad thing imo because thats literally where most of my names for characters and what not come from lol
nah it should be Belgian just to really sell the whole "western front" idea
perfect
there kit is a mix of mostly french and german
so his name being a mix fits that
So I just found out after replaying SM2’s story, when Calgar makes his superhero landing. Besides the Victrix Guard at his left and right, the rest of the Astartes behind him are Sternguard Veterans
It’s hard to tell because of the lighting, but I’m 100% sure they are wearing white helmets
if only one of them had a beak helmet lol
i dont get this art tbh what a weird pose and everything
like what is the SM supposed to be doing
there's blood where the fingers are so he's gripping the human tight
its a wordbearer so most likely some kind of ritual
oh alright
but the artwork is called no mercy
which confuses me
like is he finishing off the human
maybe the human is a cultist that failed?
They are from the 1st company of the UM after all.
see that's what im saying there's some story to this art
i feel like im missing something
maybe thats the point, the artist wants us to speculate
well if that's the case fuck them
He's probably crushing that woman's skull in
Not a Wordbearer actually, he's got the mark of Khrone on his chest
i feel like the left hand is drawn too relaxed for that
oh he does
it's like he's cradling her head
Me when I love my wife
she has a bag over her head
Hmm, WH youtube newest video is "Return to Cadia".
oh wait
i just noticed the spray of blood near the head
i think he popped her eye with his thumb
It’s in there somewhere, sigh we just have to wait longer when it comes to SM2. And then my Raven Guard drip will be complete
oh i was talking about whats his name from the boltgun game lol
Ah yeah.
it would have been funny as hell if people saw a sturnguard with a similar look and became the wojack pointing meme irl lmao
Hell, if Caedo was the one dropping from the Thunderhawk that would be cooler. And then Papa Smurf shows up.
"Hand's off of m'lady, you uncouth beast!" unsheathes katana
Funny but incorrect.
...
The picture needs to be a Death Guard Plague Marine to represent That Guy
insert angry Leandros noises
"Now there are two of them! This is getting out of hand!"
dont insult the deathguard like that, they dont smell THAT bad
Can I nick this
No
I only figured this out quickly because Tobias Maxilla has a digi weapon and it's literally a ring on his finger
but I totally get it lmao
Does krieg get the right of settlement for worlds they've taken?
Funny?
Only regiments with no homeworlds get to do that and even getting there is usually an impossibility
Krieg only have the planet Krieg and thats it
Regiments dont get to choose anything, the Munitorum and the Administratum do
Haven't cadians settled a bunch of worlds before the fall of cadia though?
No that was after
Regiments dont get a right of settlement unless its decided for them.
Cadia is also a very special case
tell me how do they recruit again, last time i remember it's like cloning or some zog
Parents drop their genetic material into artificial machine-wombs and diverse sets of Kriegmen pop out of them
ah so genetic clone mixing
you mix up two genetics from two different people and comes out a person from that
is that illegal
special exception for Krieg
in the imperium
^
Wow they do their job well if they get a special exemption huh
its more the need for manpower
So another planet can also do that if they find enough reasons?
Dunno, the admech gave them to Krieg in the first place as an exception
The bot humiez did?
Damn they really are a one of a kind of exception
Funni thought if the day: extra unlucky Deathwatch Kill Team.
Consisting of...
(1) A Blackshield.
(2) A Dark Angel that is a non-Chaos Fallen Angel.
(3) An Exorcist (dark founding)
(4) Deat Spectre (dark founding again)
(5) A Lamenter
And then it bends back into stupidly awesome when their combined unluck ends up defeating entire armies of enemies.
We got the A Team this is the L Team
1000 is also not an exact number, its a rough estimate
the need for more psykers has grown in the last 10 thousand years

Also isn't it 1000 new souls ? as in it doesn't take 1 day to tap out
i assume the majority of those 1000 are low level psykers correct
Strange how they never thought of sacrifising sisters of battle
I think its Psykers that are too weak to be useful and/or too powerful and/or not enough willpower to be trusted to not instantly explode into a portal
SoBs are not psykers and even if they are, it's something Ecclesiarch would deny/suppress
I figured the whole "incorruptable" bit would do something
Faith magic doesn't really work in the same way as far as we know
ah
It's closer to Sorcery
didnt a custodies call them out on it?
more or less called them witches and hypocrites
Yeah he did
the fact all humans are dormaint psykers likely plays a role init
Him and his comrade come to the conclusion that in the end organizations like sororitas are necessary useful “tools” for the grand picture as much as it disgusts them
a stance they have for most of the imperium iirc
Custodes then at the emperor's command, if the emperor tells them to like the sisters of battle they will immediately like the sisters of battle
I will give gw one thing they are good at portraying custodes as just mostly autonomous statues made to be the perfect person for the emperor's own guard
i wonder f the custodians long isolation was in part because they just hate the imperium as it stands and wanted to stay as far away from it as they could
the imperium as it exists could not have fallen further from the emperor's vision for humanity and they are likely the only ones that still know that
But if they're basically meant to be Warrior Priest in 40k, then it's quite wrong to liken them to Psyker (Magister)
As in the sense that they're not naturally accessing the Winds or the Warp
the point they made is that they where they just werent aware of it
and that they are guilty of the same heresy they put others to the torch for
acts of faith=warp phenomenon triggered by the laten psykic power and collective belief of the sisters
basically they pray so hard they accidently tap their dormant psyker power for a moment
which is actually exactly like how holy magic in fantasy was said to work by literally all the mages iirc lol
those guys just like receive their power from like emperor or sigmar right
they claim it comes from sigmar yes
Well on the slight difference that there is no knowledge on whether or not you need to be sensitive to magic/have latent Psychic powers.
And that it's both belief and support from a non-materials (Gods for the most part, sometime Daemons, but often times just Angels and Saints...)
Hence it being 'Sorcery'
Sigmar, or any other god, or Daemons...
ok so does Plague magic fall in that category
a power only really accessed by a god giving it to you
thats the domain of nurgle in fantasy iirc
ofc for chaos the magic users where often closer to priests than the mages of the south
Sorcery so yes
hmm i see
Nurgle or GHR YES YES
oh right
Do non astropath psykers get soulbound?
I don't think so? One of the more vague areas
Any psyker who gets taken on a black ship to terra and is not fed to the emperor gets soul bound, as I understand it
Ok so the difference between sanctioned and unsanctioned is really just training
Anyone know what that white tube on top of the lasgun is? Is it an optic? Its removed on the kantrel pattern in darktide and replaced with irons, with a reflex sight above it .
Sure it even has a purpose?
Ive seen graphics says it's a heat sink, others show guardsmen aiming through it as it will show glass on the other side. And most where you can't even tell.
But who's knows what's official. As far as I know it's a low power optic, hence why it's not there in darktide.
& whom ur friends with
They're not aiming they're warming their eyeballs it's cold in space
i always saw them as sights since optics are often mentioned when lasguns are talked about and it wouldn't hurt the mechanicum to add an extra lens for aiming
lasgun is not a very consistent weapon though so it's artist's choice
(lasgun recoil)
wait jimmy carter died?
damn
i thought he would live forever through the power of peanuts
Yeah
Also I don't know if anyone else has brought this up yet, But I love how the 53rds armor that we can unlock, directly mirrors the Traitor guard In both the helmet and flak armor.
So many fun Politician died this year
Carter
Le Pen
And the year has only started
bibby garter 🥺
a canadian prime minister too
It is not an optic. The sights are on top of it so it looks like they use the tube for aiming.
i'm interested how to see 2025 cook up the atrocities of humanity on this one
There are scoped variants of those lasgun, and they are not longlas.
why, what´s wrong
So, a low power optic? (Sights?)
Carter is last year....
i dont eat healthy and i should go to the gym more, the usual american issues
2 different things, one on top of the other.
i've been following carter news for a little while it was kinda obvious he was passing away soon
i love VERY old politicians you rarely see it
Next you are going to tell me that guns with gas tube on top uses gas tube to aim?
What does this have to do with moving parts?
no gas tube
I didn't see the "so" in this sentence lol. Although, this still doesn't explain why it's replaced with irons in darktide. (That tube is gone)
Im taking real life example.
i still see it as a scope
Different gun patterns.
Hmm, never seen sights on top of it in any other official work. Do we have a way to confirm this? (This is one of my tism questions lol)
Irons on top of the tube that is.
Because they don't go into such details. Do you ever see iron sight on the recon las until darktide?
That one sure never looks like it has a scope on it.
gameplay changes were made to the models so they work in fps
Or how the caseless guns expend casings? That they have to retcon all over?
You mean for Bolter or for Autogun ?
A scope like that seems highly impractical for anything other than a sniper rifle
Yes
Lex doesn't help lol
Both of them
I'm just now remembering the metal storm experimental weapons. Seems like something 40k should have picked up on, especially orks
Would explain why the green body part cover the front and back of the tube
Looks like a recipe for disaster, right up ork alley
I think the idea of these was to fire like a whole magazine (barrel) worth of rounds at once
Bolter have a casing for the initial charge
And not all Autogun were caseless
Metal storm is impractical and short range. Fit ork right the way.
Originally boltguns were caseless. The thing was a scifi copy from gyrojet guns, which are also caseless.
was that the company that made the fastest firing gun?
it was a neat idea but too situational for the army to adopt iirc
the m163 minigun fires 3000 rounds a minute which is already a ridiculous volume of fire
But the artists back then love the rambo style, and having casings in art show that the soldiers are actively firing and fighting, which is more "badass". And unlike lasgun, they can't just do a bright red beam. So they retcon it to use cased ammo with rocket assisted projectiles.
i think instead of wondering why autoguns eject shells we should ask why a 40k writer used the term caseless for no reason
autoguns using standard brass ammunition is not a big deal
was it?
where does lore say that
I've seen many people say it, but never really it being written
I think it's people just seeing Self propelled and going caseless
I have another question but I don't have the picture to go with it. It's auto that "targeting" helmet that veterans can get. I think it's called an auto targeter? Dunno how that would even work...
this is putting the cart before the horse. i highly doubt boltguns were directly inspired by gyrojet guns since they look nothing alike
the lore maybe but not the design
did you see alien romulus
the gun they use in the movie is basically that
Yes, but that gun had a harness no?
yes
Would make sense for astartes but don't see how that would work for guardsmen. There's nothing there that forces your gun to move the right way. And that helmet didn't come with a visor sooooo
I could understand it with scions, given the helmet. Maybe it highlights mf or something
iirc there are Hotshot lasgun which have mini gyro that stabilize it
It was somewhere in the 2 to 4 edition.
Might be how it work too
Ive hear people mention that the maker of the boltgun models was inspired by the gyrojet never seen the actual interview rhough
2nd to 4th*
That's actually awesome, good to know
Because gyrojet was more known around the time that 40k was created.
Caseless ammo were also the hot thing in development back then. Especially for futuristic looking stuff like the G11 and the fictional M41A from Alien.
the gyrojet was just a novelty known by gun enthusiasts before the internet memed it to popularity
not something some nerdy british fantasy players would have had a real interest in...
and again if it was a direct inspiration then why does the 80's bolter look nothing like the gyrojet?
why would they ONLY take the idea of a rocket propelled cartridge and nothing else
that's just not how art design works
Rule of cool. The actual gyroget guns look like normal weapons.
Also to make plastic models easier.
They were using cast die and other less advanced processdures for the moulds.
CAD 3D programs sending info directly to milling machines with high accuracy changed the production quite a bit.
Beakie helmet for SM started by that reason, too.
i'd need to be shown evidence to believe they were inspired by the gyrojet is what i'll say, since nothing directly shows that from the models
This is one of the funniest things warcom has posted
Have to dig in the old lore of early editions.
They gave descriptions that match those of the gyrojet.
Even if the physical model is not.
rocket ammunition is not proof on its own. it could be inspired by volcanic pistols too https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_Ball
you will not find another guy like me image
