There’s a novella where the whole time the IH and some guard regiments are defending this Mechanicus foundry from Orks, it’s a long drawn out affair which has taken months and costs a lot of lives.

And it’s not til the end that the Iron Father in charge learns that the Ad Mech was being cagey earlier because the foundry is harboring a piece of Ferrus Manus’s armor when he demands they show him what they’re defending.

Then he just tells the Arch Magos he’ll destroy the entire Forgeworld if he doesn’t give them the piece, and it cuts to them on Medusa placing the piece in the Gorgons Forge.
