I legit had no idea how bad some people smell until I went into a GW shop overseas in London though when we were travelling
I REALLY thought it was just a meme holy fuck
I do every other day unless I've gone somewhere, which is never, so it's just every other day
A concerning amount of people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom AND plant their ass on an uncovered, unwiped public restroom toilet seat
Sometimes u gotta do what you gotta do
Yeah i had a roommate like that in college
Fucking horrible freshman year
Same
Depending on how bad a day it is at work cleanliness wise and if I feel like working out I’ll shower three times a day but that’s not common
I'd get used to it after like day or two of being near him so it wouldn't bother me much
But every time I came back
The smell physcially hit me
It was so bad that my dirty peasant of a father couldn't stomach it
Only time I sit on public toilets is if I must, and only after wiping plus double layering toilet paper on the seat
I don’t get it, I get so paranoid about how my house and I smell
For reference this genius stored oranges in our fridge
And effectively turned the thing into a biohazard once they got moldy
Should have stored the in the freezer
Anything you put inside would taste like sour orange
Man was a walking nurgling
Like he was nice and all at least but phew
I don't have a sense of smell and I can tell when I'm starting to stink.
Oh mine was nice until you tried to talk to him about that specific topic
Then it became passive aggressive posits
Post its
I didn't talk to him much since his one and only exclusive interest was football
That and
Yeah, you feel dirty. Or at least I do.
And then I shower. You know, like a normal well adjusted adult
Watching the Garfield show on full blast at 4 am
Ever be woken up at night to a late night slur during league of legends hours
Yeah it was an experience
Lil gamer word
All the time
Been reading the Lexicanum up on gene-stealers.
I remember someone saying somewhere that Gene-stealers, despite being pretty much tyranid, when they take over the world and call the tyranids over they die to the true tyranids just like everybody else.
Is this something gene-stealers are OK with? Like do they just willingly just let the Tyranids kill them or?
Like how does that specific part go down
couldn't see any specifics on the lexicanum
Genestealers seem to share a hivemind sperate from that of the tyranids from what I read, and form cultures and societies it stands to reason they'd have some sort of mutual bond or emotions because of this, or I could be reading this wrong
not a gsc expert but i always figured when it did happen, whatever is driving them probably leads them to feel it as some sort of religious bliss
like some fucked up rapture
handwavey mind control shenigans
With the way the lore is written it seems very heavily based on organized religion like the one I came from Jehovahs Witnesses or Mormons coded. Living in plain site, trying to convert others in the shadows, waiting till they're big enough to go all out
So I could see the rapture theory on that
They are largely "ok" with it because at the end of the day they are given as enough autonomy as the hivemind allows while being conduits through it. Remember that Genestealers at large directly give off the psychic will off the Hivemind to its followers
SOME do try to escape planetary assimilation to form a new cult somewhere else but thats more instinct than self-presevation, it largely is a "it depends" thing
And this also depends due to giving enough room to people that are GSC fans to do their own cult homebrew.
Isn't there a story where the cult is released from the hive mind
And they just go insane
Yep lol
praise be the emperor's angels
This makes sense. I was just trying to envision what happens in my head. When the tyranid fleet lands, do they just crumple to their knees and let the death happen like Jackit said, sort of a mass suicide
Anything.
Mass suicide, kneel and wait to die, resist when the bond breaks etc
might vary on writer, there's a hammer and bolter episode where there's a fleeing family who manage to get onto a escape ship to get away from a tyranid invasion
turns out they're a genestealer family
they all got their own reactions to it, some are so delusional they think "this is how its suppose to happen" etc
Also this yeah, it varies wildly
a lot of the general theme is similar to like
the people brainwashed by the marker in dead space
where they're not really in control
Yeah good example
the Markers also just like the Hivemind actively exploit the human mind
since they are actually smart
The way the models are set up, where the gene-stealers have active tactians and specialization classes like traidtional armies makes me think there's more there than I should perhaps be reading into.
When I should just see them as mindless zombies by and large
i dont read many peices of media where the zombie horde is cunning and witty is what im trying to say I think
I recall hearing about a story where the Genestealer cult was actually quite surprised when the tyranids started eating them
They arent mindless zombies its more that they are actively a brainwashed cult thats EXTREMELY organised.
the tyranid hivemind is extremely intelligent
Like cultists very much act like normal people
its like how you can sit with some super religious person
and they are nice, they are welcoming
This in my opnion would be the most horrifying outcome
then it starts getting creepy once they like actually get into their faith
its that kind of thing
Mormons / Jw's / Scientology / etc in a shellnut totally 😂
I believe the hivemind has a hold over them in some way so they don't really think about what is happening right up until the very end where the hive mind cuts the connection, they realize what is happening and then they get eated
Also yeah this.
Like we see when theres even ONE surviving member of a cult they are encouraged psychically to hide and start over
the cultists very much are "normal" people they are just brainwashed
its also very easy for them to get influence and a ton of new members because the Imperium is a dogshit place to live in etc
yeah even the start of a infestation relies on people not realizing
some people disappear and miraculously they show up okay
a little dazed but otherwise okay
I could see this happening for the more human-ish looking ones but the 5th Generation - Purii I feel like they're too far gone or in my head they look tyranid enough to simply blend in
Yeah no thats true
(but tyranids probably can just tell)
its why they are kept hidden
only "human" looking cult members go out to do daily tasks in "normal" spaces
then they proceed to procreate for several generations and spread their corrupted genes
^
and then bam you got a revolt
Yeah actually the pure strain are most likely gonna be the ones processing them
Poor bastards
I bought those new goggles for psyker in the shop cause they're so genestealer esque and glow
first part of a gene-stealerish set
lol there's a lot of assets where the name for them in code is "genestealer_1_b" or something similar
Really? Thats amazing
Yeah they are from their model set
a few items actually are
Shotguns, autoguns, axes, etc
Its mostly due to them being every day imperial items so they make for good props/weaponry to use in a game
The only things im mega interested in cosmetically is anything Catachan Jungle related or genestealer atm.
Yeah Im not actually 100% truthfully aware what say this outfit is
like do they fashion those outfits themselves and the cars and bikes
or are they stolen
(cause ive not seen them outside of genestealers)
i think a lot of the models referencing construction equipment
goes for their vehicles too
I got that vibe too
but anything in the imperial armoury they can get their hands on is fair game
this guy has a camo cloak
Uh its a Cameleoline cloak
cameoeleoeleleeioeleeine
Delicious delicious caramel cloak
Its kinda intresting to see the tech honestly cause its tech i'd never see elsewhere. Like this bike for example, if it is just stolen or taken its models of everyday stuff we wouldn't usually have gotten if it hadn't been in lore stolen
caramel lined cloak
Like imperial guard stuff is very military, and space marine stuff seems all SPACEMARINE BRAND(TM)
but seeing just jeeps, quadbikes and motorbikes is super interesting idk
Silence symbol, we are make Carpel Liner cloak puns
Their gear is generally mining gear
and other civilian stuff
The cars and bikes are commercial imperial products
Weapons range from repurposed mining equipment, stolen or purchased guns, hunting gear, self made weapons
Ect.
Yeah! I think what I was getting at is while it would be boring perhaps for most, its interesting to peek inside normal everyday life in 40k when it isn't a warzone or hellscape bloodbath. (which is usually is everywhere) through the lens of what gene-stealers are getting their hands on
im not that much of a lore nut, so dont know much about how people live, what they drive etc
If you like that aesthetic I would also check out Necromunda
will do
If you want lore on this check out warhammer crime
Yeah good eye literally everything they use is largely suppose to be industrial/civillian equipment
and some military too but that goes without saying
its why again darktide uses a lot of props from their set its pretty good
Nah the Las cannon is clearly for home defense

Got my brain thinking of a tech-priest riding on a cool civilian motorbike 😎

His sniper is actually a dart gun, pretty sure it’s homemade
Usually the bikes are used to survey the land for mineral deposits and scrap or what ever you can use a motorcycle for
As the founding fathers intended
Y'know part of the reason why I like the GSC
Is because it gives an idea into regular imperial life ironically enough
due to most of their shit basically being
hey quick question

BONE BOYS
ye i felt like it wasnt chinese/japanese/egyptian like i was expecting
Ossiarch are so fucking good
Ossiarchs are super greek/roman ngl
So I think its pretty reasonable
Richard Reed my beloved
OH SHIT is that actaully him
nice
chat i nede your opinion if this quote (and the joke) makes sense
“When I finally became of age, I had two choices ahead of me. Become a soldier and face the endless hordes of the dead that threatens this city’s livelihood, or work as a whaler as my father did. I cowarded out and chose the safer choice.”
-A Nanuletach Freeguild soldier shortly before the War of the Fourth Rib.
okay shortneed it
“When I became of age, I had two choices: become a soldier and face the endless hordes of the undead, or work as a whaler. I chose the safer choice.”
-A Nanuletach Freeguild Soldier
What about the War of the McRib?
my city of sigmar is in a skeleton and the war of the 4th rib was one of the largest and deadliest battles in the city's history when they first encountered the ossiarch bone reapers
That wasn’t my question
😠
i imagine somoene has been murdered over a sandwich
But I do like that name in seriousness
yay!!
food variety is very rare in my city, messing up ameal will usuallly get you socially exiled
so someone porbably has been murdered ove r asandwich
thank you uwu
Second one flows better
Imo
thanks
When writing I tend to think of the Winston Churchill quote when writing a letter to a friend “I’m sorry I wrote you a long letter, I didn’t have time to write a short one.”
me watching as my friend get disemboweled as he accidentally ruins a patron's Isopod footlong
I hope they had the vox helmet since there is someone in the trailer wearing one, but I hope there's more weird helmet variants
man i gotta watch Goodfellas again
Can anyone explain Thousand Sons helbrutes, is it the injured sorcerers that get put inside, since most marines are literally just dust, and it kinda needs an actual thinking marine to go into one...
Also why does so much of Chaos use belt fed bolt guns, instead of just having magazines.
rule of cool mostly
and degradation
and TS helbrutes were probably entombed prior to the dust debacle
^
Also its largely a problem of like
Chaos prior to Helbrutes had actual dreadnaughts, and well still do, its more that the models are kinda dated as fuck
so they can't make any new helbrutes once they get killed.
No they can, anyway as i was saying
TSons definitely got some O.G Legionares who are dust within decorated dreadnaughts
the issue is helbrutes took to the foray as the mainline CSM Dreads, so you dont ever see them
chaos can actually manufacture the odd non-hellbrute (ferrum infernus I think) which are more chaos'y versions of older non-primaris dreadnoughts, they have a split chance of being insane or not anyway.
I think helbrutes are just for grimdark shock effect
"We cant show actual dreads because helbrutes are the mainlike heavy-tank-box unit"
Yep. Like realistically CSM still use normal chaos dreads with an entombed pilot, Helbrutes just get more showcase because newer mini
its more of a progression thing where the pilot finally/eventually turns into a meat slop
and then chaos contempters which are like mad rare in the lore rn
the only one I know of that isn't really a chaos one is the anchorite
but he's from a chaos legion, but isn't a traitor
Again its a miniature thing
especially since im sure chaos dreads are not even in stores anymore?
which is stupid but lol
you probably can field them, they'd just be from an older edition.
the only named contempter I can think of in modern lore is the anchorite, and the only other contempter before that that isn't a custodian one is probably Rylanor.
There is a few chaos dreads in books who arent helbrutes
its more just they are here and there
To be frank, I don't think normal dreads have had rules for CSM in many editions
Contemptors did at least in 8th and 9th still though
Yeah but again tabletop =/= lore
CSM would still very much field dreads but Helbrutes take the spotlight as the "new hip thing"
it works better as a "progressive mutation will turn you into this" kind of thing
(they're very old still)
there's a ferrum infernus that shows up in Gaunt's ghosts as a hitman trying to kill the ressurected saint Sabbat.
Yeah thats one
theres a few others but like asking me to remember a character from a mid 40k book is-

it's not really stated, but it's not gonna be a helbrute since it had cognitive function and it's DEFO NOT a contemptor since they were kinda a run and done character.
also the very early gaunts books are VERY OLD, like the grimacing lanky ass dread era
the book where the quiet sniper dude is in the forests fighting against the blind dreadnought is at least from that era
actually no, the book was from the late 90s, that would be around the first castaferrum dreads already
never mind me
General theme is a lot of csm gear is stolen/salvaged/old and their general advantage is their experience
yup.
why tf does that weird crested one look more aeldari.
The Eldar and Slaanesh share some aesthetic bits
i wonder why
All dressed up with no one to blow....
huh
The guy on the left
What dat hole do?
I guess its to bring a whole new meaning to throatfucking

war hammer
Good job
no
Yeah these are totally khornate
Dark Eldar
I really really hope all the bare heads don’t have speakers
I need some with mouths to make my warband
It seems to be based off of AOS Slaanesh
So it probably will
Sorry I read that completely wrong
Lmao
Yeah no worries lol
I thought you said I hope all
The braids don’t have spikes
The braids and spikes I’m fine with
I just need actual mouths
Can’t eat geneseed with a speaker for a mouth
i just fookin' love it
the head on the left being so much like the adrian smith art of the croptop noise marine
with black bug eyes
the middle head being like the classic upgrade pack noice marines
its beautiful
Yeee i got his sketchbook Gothic & Eldritch
they seem to be using some from there for these guys

as long as they dont go the retro guitar route im gonna be very happy w/ these
looks promising so far, these guys should be absolutely alien
Thats deffo not happening yea, that was only for that one mini since the entire point was "hey remember this goofy thing"
pretty sure these guys will be in the normal pale pink/silver or gold
im gonna be doing purple & gold and its gonna be beautiful

Hes really good
Fuck I love chaos
I’ve got a color scheme I’ve been dyin to try out, so I’m super excited for these
based based
Tho I need to find a good source of geneseed bits
Ik the apothecary has one
(They eat geneseed)
mtg guitar marine is cool, but i just cant shake the feeling that using 40,000 year old instruments is like the opposite of extreme
for the guys who are obsessed by novelty
didnt the fucking uhhh
primaris medics have one in their hand?
its a lil meatball with orange spots innit
Tbh I think the Noise Marines should become more like Psyker/Sorcerer, whose noise weapon become some sort of casting tools as much as simple sonic cannons
So the Apothecary?

Well can you
If you can't you'll end up banned

Obviously
And then there is a chapter name after their colour, very original.
I think the worst ones are the Blood Angels
Angels (Insert Here)
Excelsis (Insert here)
ENOUGH ALREADY
Hey dils can i ask you a warhammer game lore question
Or Crimson
So on vermintide slayer Bardin isn't canon right
FUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Nah uh
the DLC careers are canon
His only canon jobs is only really him being a ranger an iron breaker and outcast engineer
the others are "we kinda fucked up but ignore them, they are alt-universes"
Yeah only his slayer is not canon because he used to be an iron breaker before he became a ranger
They’re all canon it’s just Tzeentch fuckery
I mean he probably keep the stuff somewhere because Gromril is useful
Lohner has seen them all as all careers
The fourth are the current canon though I think
The evolution they led to
Yes it is
Its more that the alt careers are kinda whatever
the DLC ones got the most attention and are the prime canon ones
Yeah the first ones are used to be their old jobs right
Also the coolest
The one in the middle 2
Basically either explain something that they did in the past or an alternate version
Is what i'm getting
There’s basically one that’s stagnant for each, one arguably brighter path, one darker path for each, and dlc is kinda just
Their prime super charged state
Bardin becoming an engineer with the somehow a steam laser minigun is funny
Cog hammer my beloved
I like to do veteran ranger more though personally
Yeah honestly i prefer him compared to slayer after a few more plays
Especially in chaos wastes
Playing slayer and my teammates being unable to help me as i literally throw myself as a meat shield for them
Infinite grim bomb
Like mate come on help me out here
I literally jumped in the hoard so that you guys can help me on that not sit around like f****** idiots
Very stupid move but like that's literally the entire point of a slayer
Ironbreaker -> Ranged -> Ranger Veteran -> Outcast Engineer
The IB you 'play' is Tzeentch shenanigan
Then i love the fact that Kruber became a bit more arrogant but you know he's so pretty friendly
Oh great of course it is
Meme: Norwegian Goes Full VIKING MODE Jumps Cliff Dual Wielding Axes
Track: Peyton Parrish - Draugr (Viking Old Norse) (Rise of Vikingr Album)
Vermintide Fanimated playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJN7j2DS_3VauA5KeMPHtFqjwaCPxeNMv
Wanna learn how to asset rip characters, textures and audio from Vermintide 2, too? I wrote down my wo...
That path is him going back basically
He went back to where he left it
It’s the brighter path he could have taken
Slayer is the darker path
Veteran Ranger is the middle ground more stagnant path
Honestly i have switched to the engineer because i've just gone insane with my teammates not being helpful with any elites in range
And also farming for that stupid 300 axe
All the 3 initial careers in VT2 are how the various U5 progressed over the 1.5 year after the last mission in VT1
And how they came back as
Dual axes are fun but come on game give me 300 already
Paths they could have taken yeah
Doesn’t help dual hammers and cog hammer are so good
Saltspyre Bounty Hunter is the brighter path, arguably, of him choosing to go his own way.
Zealot obviously is the darker one.
Yeah i decided to like go with shield hammer for engineer and grab the stagger
Temporary health
And for taking range i go with the handgun
Simple and gets the job done
The chaos warriors are problems for my teammates i ain't dealing with them
Still annoyed at Necro just being a 'bad' end narratively. Like each of the U5 'succeed' to their past in the Prem career.
Other than Sienna
Kruber the darker path is arguably Empire Knight, Huntsman is the brighter one of him embracing what he loves and leaving behind his past.
Same with rot shields
Sienna Unchained is obviously the bad one.
But he decided to go with an even darker path becoming a bretonnian
Yeah but sisters of the thorn seems to be quite the funny one
Like apparently it's both her best and the worst traits combined
It’s a little bit darker than the rest
But obviously Necro is the worst one
And will likely get resolved eventually
SotT isn't really that dark tbh
I think the brightest path went to Bardin
He became an engineer i mean an outcast engineer but he did something he loved
Making s***
Saltzspyres is arguably the best but he had a whole journey to that
Chaos wastes was about him finding his calling and faith again
Yeah bardin and salty definitely got the good end of the deal
Bardin I would agree as best end
Then Saltz, Kruber, Kerillian and then 3 or 4 slots lower Sienna
Yeah like bare minimum salt and Bardin are living pretty happily
Basically all of them though it changes from from, very effective fighters to, now actually an extremely powerful squad for the end times.
Kruber has become a bit more arrogant but he is still pretty friendly
Kruber too
They were already elite as fuck
Aren't they basically just a party for like the role playing game in fantasy
Now they’re actually top tier dudes with some extreme powers and shit
Unnamed Heroes to Named Heroes (fame/power wise)
Ppl were talking abt inferno pistols yesterday and i gotta ask
Where's the magazine on thus thing
Kinda, the WH fantasy TTRPG is kinda lame sadly
Look i wouldn't want to try and fight an undead hord while a literal f****** dwarf mows down half of my men with a f****** minigun
In the back iirc
The cylinder
Ooooh I see
And i watch as i try to actually stab one of them only for a f****** shield to appear on the bastard
And explode on me
They all get some wild abilities with their fourth careers
Grey think on the side
Pretty much but they also carry the ability of being special characters
aka the greatest boon in warhammah™️
their wikipage on the fandom site is so good
They all have the ability of spitting fire one liners
THE CRIME IS YOUR FOUL EXISTENCE! THE SENTENCE: IS DEATH!
Me watching as my men get mow down with a minigun when i finally get a hit in i only hit a force field that then explodes
FS writers not make good banter/dialogue challenge: Impossible

legit better than some novels ive read
well i guess it makes sense they got actual warhammer writers lol
Matt Ward is stronk
Too Zealoty
Even the Skaven ones are great (which is why FS should never do Tyranids
)
people legit got no idea how much Ward carries the dialogue in this game, its peak
I would jump in immediately die because my teammates didn't help me what a surprise
He is pretty good at writing i will give him that
But yeah, I know they’ve said they wanna move on from the UR5 but I hope we get some resolution even if they all die
But yes i am now a minigun enjoyer
I wouldn’t hate if they all survived into AoS for some bullshit reason
Didn't there story in the adventure and in the dark omens when they encountered the beastmen
We definitely will get a Waylaid level once they are fully done with VT2, i just kinda wish it happened already, it feels a bit dragged out at this point.
And they sacrifice themselves quote on quote on the meteor
But they somehow survive
Yeah but like
Aye
This one seems a bit iffy to make compared to the other ones
They used anti beast man magic
Like i wouldn't even be surprised if they use this dumb reasoning to like justify them appearing in aos or something
Have us have a worthy death, and idealy, have gods comment on our enduring survival.
-# Till we die
When the explosion occurred the Ur5 got saved from the destruction of the world because of the explosion or something
Well there is already one that is there.
Soulbound is very much something that could work here
Tbh I’d be fine if they just got thrown into some portal and ended up surviving
Maybe Saltz becomes a Stormcast
they die or survive
But honestly, I don't want a VT3, I want to see something else as the tide
Have they ?
I assume if they make VT3 in AOS they'll maybe try a new cast
We might get an AoS tide game
I want a destruction aos tide so bad
I don't remember them saying anything of the sort (for the no U5 thing)
They’ve said they wanna focus on a new cast several times
Plus the UR5 arc is very complete
^
At a certain point you can’t add more without it getting old
Like they’re all friends basically and care about eachother
Bardin already has issues finding weapons to be added
Even if they won’t admit it
Yeah they have become the things that they are meant to be and as one final act of kindness to the world they destroyed one last powerful evil in a great righteous fight
It'll also serve well to like show people AOS is not some "happy go lucky" universe, its about as shitty as Fantasy but even worse since the things that wanna kill you wholesale are even more superpowered lol
And Sienna moving to Necro does show that they would want to use something else than Aqshy
Greentide is an obvious choice too but we’ll see how they go for it.
That's nice fortress unfortunately there is a red guy challenging your best warrior and he straight up decapitated your best warrior in a single strike

Skulltaker moments
Either Greentide in AoS
Or Lizardtide in BF (Have us play as CW ❤️)
And i'm just going to be honest Gorbad is a lot more interesting than grimgor unfortunate that he didn't become as popular
Like seriously this guy didn't have any other outside factors he is pure ork
All of his tactics are just himself
I increase his viscosity
OPENING UP
Gorbad is very interesting
Like yes he has magical weapons and a pretty good gear but all of it is like orkish
He wasn't specially big because he was a freak experiment
He didn't have a crown that increases intelligence
He didn't have any accident that happened to him that made him who he is
He just grew up that way
Brutal and smart
I love it
Probably going to be my favorite lord on released
Yeah but he's basically gorbad for goblins
At the height of what they can do if they allow themselves to be
Because you know there's the accident goblin being grom
Accidentally eating troll meat and gaining regeneration and being bigger than orcs
So we have the all natural orc and all natural goblin
So yeah of all the orc characters he's basically the most natural
All of his skills he gained by himself
In the case of a U5 returnee in an AoS VT3
It could be quite cool to see Saltz starting as the 'light' Warrior, becoming the Heavy warrior.
While Kruber, I guess we would need to see a Bretonnian faction reappear (Haven opening back up or something)
But we have one 🙂
Haven did open lore wise
At least most likely
Battle Fantasy had worse games before
This is not a good game
But it’s far from the worst warhammer game
Oh really ?
It’s heavily implied at least
With the original wave of settlers for the mortal realms
What came out of it ? Nothing yet I suppose
Nothing
It’s old history, it falls to GW to decide if they want to build on it
It’s why cities of sigmar had some Bret stuff
Having a Fey Court Bretonnia in AoS would be a dream
Would be cool
Might step on sylvaneth or wanderer’s toes though
Aside from the bretonnian bits
Instead of heavy armour Warrior like the Stormcast, you have Mystical (he) Knights that seem like they are made out of the fog that surround you
Honestly an aos tide where it's literally a mix of the three grand alliances besides chaos would go hard
Before everything went to shit
I don't think it would be the best choice, to have all 3 alliances together
Do a soulbound
Even then (also does Soulbound work with Greenskins ?)
I would prefer just a single grand alliance but mixing them all together would be neat
Yes they have an entire character book
I think having them be from one Grand Alliance still has a lot of debth to what they can do without feeling like a mad run for every piece of the setting
So like you can literally have a stormcast work with this guy
In any case, the caster ought to be an Elf next tide
Yes one of the classes you can play is a grot riding a squig
Let them pick multiple winds and such
But yeah a soulbound aos tide ain't that bad of an idea
They're probably going to stick with one grand alliance though because
A single alliance already is a plenty of choice
Ngl AoS tide could be all cities of sigmar and it would be great
The cities are fun + have a lot of different things
Don't they literally also mix in the old dwarves and elves
Yes
Yes
So like if you want you can even bring in the old classes
But i want to explore the other aspects of order
Along with new stuff
Like maybe having a fyre slayer character
Alongside a storm cast
But a cities sigmar 1 ain't bad either
For the Dwarf I would be most interested in an Arkanauts
Oh a khadron fleet member
Is definitely a good one
I mean you're wrong but i understand
I am harsh
They are simply too cool for your too advanced brain
That I won't refute
I will refute them being too advance though
I mean they are the perfect faction for someone that doesn't care about like you know deep storytelling and stuff
Like me
I mean
It's not even surprising
Yeah they are interesting narratively but like yes i can get the simplicity in the look
They look like basically roided up slayers yeah
Which can be too much but honestly it works for
Them
Their entire stick is literally worshiping the god of war of the dwarves
Yeah but
Dwarf with the big hair with giant axe
That's already pretty good argument in my book so i ain't looking to fix it
Thinking back on Realm of Ruin
I would love a true golden RTS for AoS
Or a Total War with mechanic to bridge from 1 realm to another
TW:AoS when?
Can lasguns be suppressed?
In the lore yes
They have muzzle device that turn the laser invisible... It is not logic, so don't try to argue with it.
yeah like isn't it basically soundless because of you know it being a laser

wtf is this
clearly an obliterator
Perturabo fan art probably
he has like 4 legs though, what did this one absorb a defiler?
probably
i hope they cant actually do that
one thing i still dont really get, why are so many daemons of the warp tied to humanity specifically?
with humanity being so relatively young in regards to the galaxy it seems a little strange that so many powerful daemons would be directly "birthed" by human actions
Cause warhammer has humans as the center point
It's writer bias
It's also why we know so much on the Imperium
And so few on the Xenos
makes sense
Which ones
Daemon princes yeah
no full daemons
But the major greater daemons haven’t been tied to human stuff in a while
They're not Humanoid, they're Necrontyroid
i guess "so many" was a bit of a stretch, what i really mean is why are any of them tied to human actions?
Real

like the daemon that made the first obliterator
Obliterators got made by Perturabo and Mortarion
not according to slaves of darkness
Which book is that
Oh the heresy one
Yeah idk that directly contradicts
Most obliterator lore lol
Including the new stuff in 9e and 10e
yeah Wes said the same
I think we can discard it from the conversation
Since obliterators have always been tied to Morty and Pert
the daemon itself is more interesting to me due to the whole "born from the first time a human crafted a tool made to kill"
Tbh daemons spawning from symbolic stuff like that isn’t weird
There’s prolly a daemon for each major species that did that
We know that vashtor went from random warp creature to greater daemon sized
Due to the Necrontyr bio transference
So it’s not a stretch for random daemons to feed off of X of Y species
ofc if its true that all humans in warhammer 40k are potential psykers their level of impact on the warp kinda makes ssense
there is a lot of us in 40k after all
and if all of them are just dormant psykers that is quite the terrifying thought
Volk becoming the first Obliterator through possession can still work with the earlier lore if that instance sparked the inspiration for Perturabo to create the Obliterator Virus later with Mortarion
It could
Also there was a khornate daemon spawned during the fall of the eldar
Due to an aspect shrine(priest?) trying to stab slaanesh and succeeding
Still died though lol
still died like an utter gigachad though
But extremely symbolic things fuel the warp
So the first Necrontyr or Eldar to make a weapon to kill prolly spawned a daemon
Still waiting for a revamped Mutilator kit though...
There is also the matter of Neverborn.
How is a Daemone a Neverborn but also the "First Murder" of humanity. (Drachyen)
Which to me fall on the matter of once its here, it always has been here.
Drachyen became a conscious thing to humanity when it got it's entry ticket, with the First Murder.
Some century
Yeah this as well
why don't you love me father
motherfucker looks like Kugath sat on his face
God mutilators are weird lol
They got added as a duo build option with the second obliterator kit
And then they had 0 m lore
And then got removed
on par with the old Oblis
What did GW mean by this
Yes, only if you apply hard real life physic, because lore lasgun does make sound when they shoot.
Same kit lol
yeah, just a ranged and a melee option
are the current oblis even sold as their own kit yet
figures
never apply real life physics to sci fi laser weapons, just the fact the light of the laser can still be seen breaks it
Unless GW produces a new one
hey wolf quick question isn't bardin's gun basically Khadron tier?
When it comes to technology
Not really
Steam punk tech vs more Diesel Punk
Clattergun did exist previously in BF
Most notably for Dwarf Navy Dreadnoughts
hmm i see
Hmm wonder what caused the jump
The Battleforce preorders? Krieg reveals? The tv show teasers?
the preview show in general
I was this close to buying a few stocks during the summer, now I regret I didn't
Is there any language more powerful than Enuncia?
I mean one that has more powerful effects just by speaking it
yeah you can practically bend reality just by speaking it
Hurts your lips though
Other than perfecting the pronunciation is there even a cost to Enuncia ?
Most people can’t even say one word without it incapacitating them
With practice you can use more but it’s physically very taxing
But that's a skill issue though.
Literally
No it just actually wrecks your body saying them
I was gonna add more but like
enuncia is such a dumb concept even by 40k standards i got no comment honestly
then again it is written by a comic book writer
It’s one of the most basic and common fantasy concepts, ancient language with words that hold power
Its another "big universe thing only gets mentioned by Abnett and maybe a friend of his"
either way its uh something alright
They’ve mentioned it more with other sources too, it’s not common but it comes up. Lorgar is searching for words of it for example
See "maybe a friend of his" bit
either way its kind of whatever
the tower of babel stuff with it legit killed it for me lol
It’s not like it’s meant to be a super well known thing anyways.
I mostly preferred it how it was done in Ravenor but it’s not really that out there of a concept by 40k standards. They already had similar ideas built in.
Ravenor is from like 1942 so not like it could be a well-known concept either way when it barely gets mentioned
ı see people ask about it and half the replies are "we dont really got enough info to go on as is" lol
Which is very 40k
I mean no
Some shit in 40k get an unnecessary amount of lore
some dont because its not explored due to just being a random idea that "seemed cool at the time"
Almost largely nothing in this setting is a mystery more just a lack of commitment or too much of it
Enuncia doesn’t lack lore, it’s pretty much immediately clear what it was when it’s introduced, its origin and more has been told of it
But the core idea has been the same, we just don’t know everything or how far it can go
The even say in the second Ravenor book what the bad guys are using it for, basically just saying words as an offensive weapon, is a crude and simple usage of its potential, which they’re trying to unlock.
It very much does, its just a random superpower ancient language thing that was just plopped in and got built in explanations later that got dumber as it went along.
Like its just Abnett being Abnett, its not that deep
Or I should just say 40k being 40k, its as usual pretty whatever
A mystery is just not having full knowledge, you can say that for any setting, yes they could expand on it more but that’s not a lack of commitment it’s just not needing everything explained fully.
This isn’t unique to 40k, it’s just a general choice by writers
I'm glad you caught that Eternal, very observant. The sacred and the propane.
You’re the one saying things aren’t mysteries because the writers could just tell us what they are if they wanted, it’s still a mystery if it’s intentional or they didn’t plan on adding more.
It’s a meaningless statement
No I just wanted to A) Make a Sopranos joke and B) This is Dumb Pointless Argument No.2919303 and I was kind of half paying attention to it.

Anyway
You don’t always have to be reductive towards stuff
What is the argument now
I don’t think it’s too much credit to say they intentionally leave stuff unanswered cause it’s more interesting or answering every question is boring.
All I know is you two never had the makings of a varsity athele.
Especially when they’re writing flavor text basically for a setting
That's never been disputed by anybody 👉
Gabagool

His body is mad ripe yo.
Kwistofa
I actually just finished rewatching the Sopranos, I forgot how funny Vito’s whole New Hampshire part is
Dude finds a gay paradise, gets a hot firefighter diner cook boyfriend
Artisanal shop, everyone is ok with him being gay
And he leaves and goes back to die cause he can’t stand a 9-5 after two shifts
I wish the fandom wasnt so cancer because i really do love moments like that in the show and you can barely discuss it with anyone at all since its just braindead meme circlejerking
Chase does such a good job of reminding how awful these people are its both hilarious and sad in a way
Yeah the overdone quotes get old but I get it
Yeah its funny to some extent but man lol
I really should do a rewatch too though ngl
ive been going through youtube vids of it, its tempting
I also just watched it and I can’t even remember half of the lines people are quoting sometimes

Alright fuck it ill marathon it after work, ill prob stop at like S4 anyway
the last 2 seasons get so depressing I legit cant bare it
any knowers know how big Warhammer fantasy lore is vs Warhammer 40k? like in terms of something like total word count and/or whatever else
Uhhh
id say WHF is almost there but since it got axed it doesnt have as much "wideness" as 40k
Yeah its important to remember 40k is "random shit happens on random planet and the event doesnt matter"
WHF has like a ton of narrative shit
Nothing of value was lost
It had the issue of it’s a set world so they had to do something eventually
Since everyone was stuck at right before the end times
AOS is Definitely gonna take a good while until it reaches warhammer fantasy lore level
They went back a little bit with some dudes
in the amount department anyway
AoS they built it bigger with all the realms and the realms being huge so they can avoid that pitfall as much
My head canon is that all of WHF takes place on a single planet in 40k
Yeah AOS is just WHF with 8 more realms to play around in
yep
it deffo helps
It’s also not the same kind of fantasy setting, it’s more high fantasy
as of now but it's definitely getting the amount of stories
a nearing the level warhammer fantasy
it's gonna be awhile until it can get the amount of lore warhammer 40k has
Probably a daemon world
Its a mix to be fair
frontal its high fantasy but personal stuff tends to be more low usually
it's definitely a high fantasy but it has low fantasy things
depends on the faction book
There is a book called Daemon World which is a lot like this
I know
I mean, yeah?
I brought it up on e before
bro hit him with the Frank Drebin line
Source?
It is nice they’re doing fantasy books again though
so with the death and rebirth of Warhammer fantasy as the aos world... one day there might be a Warhammer 40k 2?
Unlikely tbh
Its gonna happen, just not soon at all
when GW probably can't keep continuing the setting but considering how smart they are doing that
Fantasy was failing to make money
yeah it's gonna take them a long while to get to that point
The setting will need to get stagnant
40k is their flagship
which isnt anytime soon
If it’s failing there’s a lot of other issues
yeah they have completely built warhammer to be a sustainable as possible
it took mid-40k era like 30 or more years to get there
that might be the jumping the shark moment, could take like 60+ years to organically justify rebooting 40k like that
They will probably advance the setting
But I doubt we’ll get a end times scenario like that
Random stories in random worlds and barely moving the narrative should they need to
Also the thing with warhammer is it stays relavent because it changes and mutates
thats a core thing
so we'll see
Anything could happen but I imagine they’d just advance the setting as opposed to end times
Also hopefully it won’t suck this time if they do
yeah fantasy was basically already falling
But they ended it in a way that is so horrendously bad that I had to headbutt my wall
They could have handled it better definitely
40k was on the downturn prior to Cadia too which is a lot of why they shook the setting up like they did, but idk if they’ll ever do a hard reset like Fantasy to AoS
Oh wait yeah i meant it like that lol
40k is never going anywhere/getting end times treatment
even if the Emperor died and terra imploded they'd still find a reason as to how people can still play their armies and how the Emperor is alive or whatever the fuck
It sucks too cause End Times was a very unique opportunity to do some cool stuff and they fumbled so much of it
At least we got Settras Chad arc but still
I liked some of the stuff
But it was just rushed
The ideas were good the execution was awful
Now I know their homeworld exploded but the emperor is actually now a God and he has decided to make new Angel marines
even if you dont care about WHF some decisions will make you go "the fuck"
Malkith being the Phoenix King is hilarious
They'd say some shit like he ascended to the Warp and has become a new god people actually worship even more now as he allows Warp travel through the astronomicon or bla bla
That is up there with "Actually Horus was right for starting the Heresy"
Anyways, the only thing that really mattered from the WHF world was the story of Gotrek & Felix in the end
“If Horus just hereyed a little longer he would have actually saved the Imperium”
“He was one second away from heresying enough”
poor bastard
maybe one day the 40k universe will be damaged by some fight or another which totally changes the way of things but doesnt quite reboot it. perhaps two galaxies chaos god pantheons meeting and fighting
Nah i doubt they'll ever do a crossover
it will just be someting like Terra imploding but nothing really changes as the writers find a way to keep everything more or less the same
like how the entire galaxy is split in half rn but things are relatively the same as they are before rn, just more daemons etc
The only time they’ve ever done those kinda things is mostly memes
and psykers being more common
You know, maybe that Horus guy had a point.
one side is bad the other one is relatively even worse
Who amongst us can say they haven’t started an intergalactic war because they misinterpreted a dream given to them be daemons from time to time?
We were all young once
Not Paul for one
me because well i don't have access to an intergalactic spanning empire that can destroy entire worlds
Pfft just say your a poor
It still bothers me that Horus knew it was a plot to manipulate but went ahead anyway
Well he wasn’t in a great state of mind
He thought he was Him
But yeah earlier heresy was
I wish they could redo a lot of it
Makes sense why since it was gonna be much shorter but man
Heresy 2.0
because both Imperial Fisters and Iron Fencers fans suck
I need to feel superior over them

Like Guilliman?
that's why I LISTEN
Well they need space for the power to be stupid so
Which I find ironic and hilarious
can't have that the two unfortunately
except for me for i am both stupid and can read
Its always easier to digest through memes than read alas
that's why i have suggested reading through brain injection
you get the chemicals of reading memes and actually learning about something
But muh shovel and blue communists
Thankfully we’ll all soon be cybernetically linked into the cloud and we can just make people download 40klore
Finally
not 40klore, 1d4chan
Such a Jerk 0 matic thing to say
cruel and straight up evil
1d4chan is the only reliable source of lore
my favorite part of 1d4chan is me sending my friend to its forums like an officer not expecting him to come back from the killing fields of f-Slurs and n-word machine gun nests being fired everywhere
i dont give a shit if its difficult dude GET ME MY PDFs
You sound like the type of person when your friend gets a bio chip on their head you would zip bomb 1d4chan straight into their brain

Kids these days don't know how good they got it.

I intended to go into a "back in my day" rant but about surviving the hellscape that is early 2000s internet culture but.
It just ain't worth it
As a person thats also been through said early culture yeah its not worth it lol
It's gone now. Replaced by modern internet culture
you don't have to sell your soul twice they say
My plan is to sell my soul to as many different buyers as possible so that it takes an eternity to sort out in litigation
2000s internet culture is not that much different imo
I wish that with the Krieg poster boys, they buff the helbore lasgun a little bit in DT.
