In lore human tech is a clone of Eldar tech?
Alright so heres what I got so far
3e sent this all to the retconian
In universe explanation is convergent technological development
For a lot of stuff
Maybe it was inspired by eldar tech in the daot
Who knows
A Technoarcheologist, Durix Roth-16 hires the party to investigate the death of a tech adept that was sent to recover a "valuable discovery" of which he will not elaborate to the party, citing insufficient access levels, which is actually a device of Aeldari manufacture (A fire dragon fusion gun) that he wishes to study.
He will direct the party to the crime scene, where the body of the adept can be found, who was killed roughly 10 hours ago, attentive characters will notice that the adept’s augmetics were stolen only recently, implying the perpetrators did not kill them for a simple robbery. Idk what other clues or stuff about the setting I should include around their body
like where is it found
is anyone investigating it?
anyone trying to scavenge it?
If it’s in the lower or under hive
Or hell even bad parts of the mid hive
People will be picking the body clean prolly
Could be a good introductory combat scenario
shoot the homeless
are the enforcers involved in this death at all do you think?
like investigating it or anything
or just like trying to see if they got anything good to steal themselves
Depends
or like trying to keep people away?
They would be trying to keep people away
how would that impact my homeless person encounter
Its my understanding most deaths are just ignored in the hive
but I guess a tech adept is kinda important
No one’s going to give a shit
lower hive is the setting
idk if thats where the tech priest is based, or if he's higher up and he just says "alright! Heres transportation and the coordinates, go find him!"
I'm trying to decide who should have killed them
random gangs hired by the cold trader BBEG to take the gun to them, or the lone aeldari corsair/outcast trying to recover it, who then gets it swept out from under them by humans
do mechanicus go outside
Yes
What do you think makes more sense for who killed the adept?
Should I have the eldar intervene like a little less than halfway through, like have an unnamed third party kill a few of the guys you're looking for, for example?
I'm trying to think of what clues I could have around the crime scene or their manner of death that would give the party a direction
or other things to guide the party if they fuck up checks or something
you could
Probably note that there's bullet casings
could be of low quality make
so they probably wouldnt have las weapons
yeah
maybe have a bunch of bullet holes all over the place
gangers are not known for being good at aiming
and the adept riddled with holes
were they able to fight back or were they caught unawares?
Average ganger in 40k
(A random civilian stepped one toe into their territory)
So that tells the party it was gangers, but how would it lead them to a specific gang or that this is unusal besides the daily gang killings
besides that the augmetics are only now being stolen by the homeless™️
I'd assume gangers are so sloppy the adept probably would have had time to be fought back
Gangers can have las weapons.
But it depends on how advanced your planet is.
You could have a mixture of weapons
maybe a body or two would be found?
Gangs usually do not have the balls to murder random Mechanicus members
Like they just took anything they could get
severe blood stains
bone shards
ect.
I'm assuming its some underhive shithole gang
which is unusual for gangers
probably
You could have multiple types of weapons if it's some random under hive gang.
Just have weapons ranging from regular las fire to fucking musket balls
yeah
gangers would absolutely
steal everything lol
Like they're literally using anything they could get as long as it has
only didnt rob him because they were A. scared of retribution, and didnt know if he had allies nearby so they booked it, and B. because Da Boss™️ said to just take the artifact
The ability to kill
maybe I could have a body of a ganger with some clue as to which gang it was?
yeah but I'm going for something more stereotypical
yep
Yeah but I want something to show the party that they werent just some ballsy gangers who decided "hmm today I will rob a mechanicus member"
Due to Tech Adepts packing a lot of heat (relatively)
You can just have multiple ones
Make it obvious there was an ambush set up
ahead of time
how so?
Could also have supplies
Like maybe an ammo box or whatever
maybe a haywire grenade to fuck with his augmetics
that works
I assume those dont just completely vanish when detonated
Could also have the nearby lights be fucked
Like the grenade also made the electricity around the area get disabled
And uhh idk maybe the bodies could have a specific tattoo for their gang?
yeah
alright, how would I make it clear that the tech priest had whatever the artifact was, or maybe add some vague clues of what it was?
Tech Priest has a broken wooden like
box with them?
or maybe have the box be made out of some unknown material
Like maybe have like aeldari runes on it?
Yeah
or maybe have the party confused because it looks like the box is made out of bone
or something
but it clearly isn't bone
sounds good
so they find ganger tattoos on them, how would the party be led by the tattoos to where they can find said gang?
I mean if you go around asking the locals they might not tell you just out of fear
oh right, those do exist down here
So for my homeless person fight, how many do you think there should be and how should they be armed
I want them to be weaker than gangers
hmm speaking of enforcers, maybe I should have some of the local enforcers be paid off by this gang, idk if thats plausible though
for like 2-4 party members, maybe like 2-3 scum for an introductory fight?
i legit forgot if there's still a breathable atmosphere on mars
define breathable
To an unaugmented human? its probably breathable, youll die in like 2 months but thats a given
microplastics my favorite
so mars was terraformed during the dark age right
it was like all green and shit?
i heard mars went to shit during the age of strife but now that i think about it, i dont get it
mars needed to be constantly maintained to stay green? why is no other imperial world like that
Breathable but you'll die
I'm thinking like 2 scavs would be decent
one has a autopistol and a knife, the other just has a knife
It didn't it just had apocalyptic wars on it which turned it back into a shithole
along with the terraforming things breaking
(by SALAMANDER)
This mf shows up in your house asking for Trick or Treat
what you do
Offer him the undeniable flavour that is Charleston Chew
goddamn
Whats at the center of the galaxy in 40k? Anything about Sagittarius A*?
Leagues of Votaan stuff
Why does war com keep posting this their rattling muckbang newsletter
Because easy way to fill out their quota
At least like, show a weapon profile god Damn
Click farming or somesuch
“Today I’ll tell you how to cook pie for the god emperor while I eat a cob of corn”
Nice usage of Rupert in the article though
Starting a new rogue trader run, gonna keep the same vibe of loving to collect xeno tech tho
Not sure if I should be a crime lord or a noble
I guess am I collector or am I black manta this shit
Unrelated question What would you call an area that citizens go to try to get jobs in the lower hive?
Hiver or hive scum
Spending on your social ranking
Melee xeno build lets go
No no I mean like the actual place where they gather to try and get a job assigned to them
Like enforcers passing out assignments to able people
Lmao like an enforcer would do that
Oh no it’s administratum who do it, look for able bodied people for like factorum work and etc, the enforcers are there to beat people that mob too much or get too close
Enforcers are American cops:
Yup
Yeah I get that, but I’m talking like a building or something that this would be done at
Like what that would be called
What job specifically?
It would be whatever they need replacements for at the moment, but like hard manual labor
Like dockers, factorum work, etc
Having a job doesn’t make you any better in the lower hives
No it doesn’t

It’s literally hiver
Important jobs in the lower hives are usually controlled by the houses
Ok
I am not asking about the title of the actual person getting the job
Oh
I’m asking what I would call the place where they recruit people for said jobs
Like masses of people scrambling to try to get a job to get ration cards
Pretty sure it’s different from job to job
I’m not certain tho I’d have to check
I know servators walk around and offer jobs
"munitorum assignment office"
if you're going for formal
something like that at least
but you can invent a company hiring office
von grager's work assignment yard
blade dancer executioner sounds nasty with drukhari mele weapons
my original playthrough before they nerfed archmilitant, i ended up dual wielding a shuriken pistol and an neuro disruptor
that gun was based
I made my team all soldier arch militants. Everything that moved got shot, everything that stood still got shot twice.
Blade dancer executioner pyromancer psyker with drukhari weapons can literally one shot the final boss with proper setup

Tbf it’s very easy to break the game in rogue trader
Fair
The game breaks itself 😉
My RT is like, eternally jealous of eldar. She got that black manta thing going on
She wishes she could be an eldar
so excited to see how this RT rp goes
I’ll end up trying to be besties with eldar or kill then all
this is my dumb nerd rant but a game shouldn't require meta building to pass the threshold of "beatable"
That's a pretty valid take tbh
Unfortunately Owlcat
Well, i'm assuming an "average" or "meant to be played" difficulty
subterranian is a very good example of this if any of you played it
But unfair is genuinely impossible
Same with space combat
But space combat genuinely feels tacked on
For once pathfinder does not do it better
im dumb
You mean under rail
yes
Lmao
Like
‘It’s combat but you multiply your attacks by 10’
it took me 250 hours to reach the final boss in underrail
It’s arguably worse then spell jammer lmao
and i literally cannot win
Lmao
Sad for a space gaming system
i went to the underrail discord and i posted my save to see if any of the sweaty 10000 hour players could beat it
Starfinder is
they all asked me how i even managed to get to that point
Idk
It’s fine
I prefer pathfinder
Hopefully Starfinder 2e is not as uh
Annoying as Pathfinder 2e
I've played one session of starfinder first ed. a looong time ago
The worldbuilding seemed nice but the actual game wasn't making the cut
underrail really forces you to meta build
That’s why they ported Starfinder into pathfinder
there's a whole thing on which classes in the pathfinder games are actually usable
basically lol
m-muh lvl 1 monk crane style dip
5x easier to brick your build
Because 2e is horribly designed trying to make it more approachable
hey wolf across like the three warhammer settings is lord Kroak like the most busted mage?
Within setting yeah
Damn he is one powerful frog
What are some good loading screen lines from darktide to use as announcements/sermons to a hive to inspire conformity
“An open mind is like a fortress with its gates open and un-barred”
That’s why I shoot people who walk on my property
America moment
“Facts are chains that bind perception and fetter truth”
A classic “Revile the mutant, abhor the witch, hate the alien”
So true brother
Just use this
Pick out the ones you like
People get mad at the imperium for not having common sense but they ignore things like these
like they quite literally encourage you to be basically a mindless killing machine
they be doing everything in their power to bring you in
The best thing they did was the America's Army game
Actually recruiters specifically avoid that stuff because it scares the average impressionable teenager away
Grendel
That cheeky son of a
Iirc the Darktide subreddit used to be for another game, but don't remember which
That's intruiging
searching for the previous game now, but then I see this in my results

did somebody make a github page just for this
Reminds me of that one vid with the recruiting booth and helldivers above it
I think both simultaneously the funniest and saddest quote is simply
"Mercy is a disease, intolerance is the cure."
Somewhere out there is a not very smart World Eater thinking Slaanesh is the god of Axes. Both Khorne and Slaanesh are confused, but he's got the right spirit.
dnd YouTubers are so fucking terrible at warhammer lore it’s not even funny
Unironically only quote fucking dankhammer memes
Did you know space mairnes are actually the BAD GUYS

Honestly from all the advertising. That may actually come as a shock to a good chunk of people

Also you ever think that Tzeentch and Nurgle are more the equivalent of
Two old men doing a prank war
The problem is that the pranks aren't uh
Good for anything alive
Actually what if the Great Game was just the Chaos God equivalent of a prank war

Also fun fact
Slaanesh used to use Neo-pronouns (at least according to one cult)
This was back in 1986
THE HERETICS ARE USING PRONOUNS!!!
FUCKING PRONOUNS!!!!
Actually imagine a comedy where the Chaos Gods are literally just
4 teenagers
Doing a prank war on each other
Warhammer Highschool
Like it's seemingly in a normal suburban neighborhood
The Dark King is their dad
Malal is just that one emo sibling
And then it switches back to like
Planets being consumed by chaos
People becoming corrupted
Sacrifices being made and people dying
And then it just goes back to Slaanesh jokingly throwing a water balloon at Khorne

The Emperor is just viewed as the equivalent of like
Candace from Phineas and Ferb
"I'm gonna tell [REDACTED] and you're gonna get so grounded!"
Chat should I cowboy max or xeno max in RT
cowboy xeno
shuriken pistol and neuro disruptor
it fucks
fusion pistol until yu get the neuro one
Oh cool there is a harlequin pistol
yeee
Yeah but I mean role play wise
Also do the uh
Genestealer cult weapons like the bio blade
Need a proficiency?
i never got that far into the dlc yet
wiki item lists arent updated yet 😦
Imperial creed be like "NOOO YOU CAN'T USE XENOS WEAPONS!!"
Meanwhile the average Rogue Trader
"Haha shruiken launcher go zoom"
I honestly kinda wish we got more Imperial factions that try using Xenos tech. Like I always thought that it would be cool if some
Deathwatch Marines added some Xenos tech inside their PA
No lol
Honestly I remember seeing like
Tau Space Marines designs
And I remember liking it a lot
Mainly cause the armor was much more angular and shit
It looked cool
And I thought
"Man. That would make for a sick Deathwatch design"
Okay time to start
I also find it funny that as soon as a drukhari Haemonculi landed on Terra
They literally got an overdose due to the amount of suffering
Imagine having your planet be
So garbage that a Haemonculi literally starts tweaking out like never before
source?
I think it's from
The Vaults of Terra: Dark City
No wait it's the Carrion Throne
IM SO DEAD 😭
meanwhile actual slannesh dgaf
it just wants you to witness it and become captured by chaos
seeing how every single lifeform has its own subjective idea on what is the most perfect form of beauty known to it
the daemonculaba thing I don't get why people mald over it so much
it's chaos
it's supposed to be fucking insane and gross
this is why
was there any proof to those?
revealed to me in a dream

oh wait I just remembered one thing that might top the deamonculaba
there was like some dark elf succubus who took control of the wych cults and a large portion of commoragh but got backstabbed by her homonculus when her campaign against cadians went wrong and she was forced to flee
which ended up with her basically becoming the equivalent of a deviantart inflation fat fetish that couldn't move
the homunculus then put a cage over her like one of those comical wacky villains and airlifted her to some high tower in comorragh so everyone could take the piss out of her
and then vect is there at the side going "just as planned"
although being a grotesque fat basterd in a cage is about on par for the race that turns people into living furniture
Avernus? Small world huh
you seem familiar
I haven't played smite or etc in ages
what do you think GW’s next big reveal gonna be
In a wrath and glory one shot, should I even bother giving players XP?
Meh
Also I'm trying to decide if I should use mobs or not, since for example, one scum has 4 wounds, wheras a mob of 4 scum also has 4 wounds, not sure which option is better to try to make the combat challenging but not unfair for the players (I've never dmed before)
idk how to build combat encounters in it
Yeah
S2D minis, Craftworld Eldar or Krieg minis, spring release for AoS
New S2D or is it the battletomb and spear head?
Lol it good
GW's like
release schedule slowed down really hard this winter
for reasons beyond my comprehension
Supposedly new warcry edition is gonna come out next year
They introduced a lot of mechanics and shit like last time
That only affect a few warbands
But yea
Slaves to darkness is a pretty complete army
I hope that they get their demons back tho
HE HAD HIS OWN ARMY
ITS INSANE
like with rules
it was very funny
he was a stealth army lmao, teleporting, summoning units, freezing units in place
Probably because it kinda takes a step too far in the """sexual""" area of things
Like it's okay to spill somebody's entrails
But showing a nipple is also as "disgusting"
Anyone here have any experience making combat encounters in wrath and glory? I'm struggling to make balanced encounters for one shot that are difficult without being unfair
So basically combining both kinda
Uh
Ew
True
Again I
I can't say I like it
Cause actually imagining it made me gag
But it's something equivalent to that?
I will say it did accomplish that
and thats a bravo
Trying to make gang encounters that arent A. just a shitton of goons and B. far too few goons
I think it helps that it's the Iron Warriors that did it and not like a Slaaneshi faction.
So you know it was done purely because they thought it was
"""efficient"""
Cause if a regular Space Marine is asexual
Then the Iron Warriors are somehow even more asexual than Khorne.
Make some big goons with small ones?
Idk what game or Tabletop planning you're on about. But it's a good way to have variety
Like have some elites mixed in with regular enemies
Wrath and Glory, dnd esque RPG
Oh that's cool
what I dont get is so like should I be making mobs (groups of enemies that count as one single unit) or seperate enemies
Mobs with a bit of separates mixed in
Depending on how hard you want the encounter to be anyways
cause a ganger has 4 wounds, but if I make 4 gangers into a mob, each one only has 1 wound, so like whats the difference besides more attacks with less defense
heres the rules for it
kind asounds like 1 damage kills an individual in the mob each shot guarenteed, but its harder to make it pierce several
Have some mob gangers close to the party.
With individual enemies taking potshots at them. Acting as pressure while they deal with Ganger Gang #9291
That's the best idea I can give as a layman lo

sounds legit
probably gonna have the gangers come in waves
and have each wave try to ambush you
cause gangers are dicks
off topic
an officer of the greycaps
who are like, the elite mercenaries of greywater fastness
tell me chat
this is an AELF WITH A GUN
Their basically your average, Cities but put a lot more emphasis into technology and steampunk
For them a steam tank is like easy to produce and is very low tech
Don't see anything wrong with that smh
ahem
gentlemen, men of culture
I have a proposal
conventionally attractive
Not really a big proposal...
I have a funny idea
What if the Tyranid Hivemind finds the 40k galaxy
Hell
Like one of the worst fucking experiences it has ever had in its life(?)
And the only reason why it stays is because of a very stupid thing
Sunk-Cost Fallacy
Basically it already expended too much Biomass to just cut it's losses and fuck off
It's already too deep
So they keep sending parts of themself. Hoping that by wiping out the Milky Way. They can actually gain something.
Where can I find more information for how to make banners for chapters?
I am not finding much material for the Aurora chapter standard that is codex compliant.
I only found one banner for 5th company
You can look at pre-existing banners for Chapters and just copy/make you own elements from there. Successor Chapters usually get jackshit visual media-wise
Idk. I am just getting into the lore and I already know that the banners I have found are not complieant since they don't have a place to insert company numbers, unless you have to use the trim instead
Just use the stock ancient banner
Vaguely follow that structure
The codex is pretty flexible with how you show shit like heraldry lol
Aurora is supposed to be specifically compliant though
Yeah and Compliance is extremely nebulous
As opposed to what most fandom memes say
Heraldry specifically is like a "Do whatever" area lol
^
It very much does not matter.
heraldry is literally just fancy edgelord iconography
Yee I’m just surprised they mentioned it in the lore
Grey water is the number one producer of fire arms and are at a constant war with the Sylvaneth
It’s to the point alarial had to come in and personally pause the war
yes because they produce so much pollution
Yee
i mean if you're a faction made of trees and your neighbor is like one of the worse factories in the planet you would be pretty pissed too
Alarial had tell the Sylvaneth that they need to leave 1 road that leads to and from the city
Grey water is also in ghyran lmao
Like the heart of ghyran
yeah that's why it's so funny
the only reason it doesn't get so bad is because ghyran is good at filtering out the air outside the city so it doesn't spread further
Lmao yeha
but if you're in the city it is the most polluted hell hole you can live in
They should expect a visit from kragnos soon lmao
Since it’s the only thing in the realm
That won’t heal it self after being destroyed
yep Lmao and hopefully let's just hope those guns they have are strong enough to hurt the God of earthquakes
Is DARKTIDE canon?
yes
Ludo narrative dissonance
Are we killing 50 Beast of Nurgle per day, no
Are we killing some Beast of Nurgle
Yes
Yeah pretty much
yes
and story wise it may as well be canon
oh it is?
Because I've read multiple arguments over and over again saying that the story isn't
otherwise all our actions are canon, it takes place on a single planet/narrative that doesnt affect anything which is the rule with most 40k book/side story content
what can i say people literally throw the terms all over the bloody place
Literally every single warhammer game that gets official stamp is canon.
it only gets goofy when it comes to gameplay feats
Malum Caedo going on a crack crusade is Canon?
damn
Boltgun is more of a joke game so idk about that one lol
i was talking about stuff like Dawn of War and whatnot
alright then thank you for the clarification because this makes this guy even funnier
Ironically his is even more believable than Cado lol
especially considering the feats of people like Ufthak in novels
i mean hey, he did all that for just a hair squig
i can believe orks to be that petty and spiteful
DATS BECOS GREEN IS BEST
YEZ
oh yeah Dils
so i was planning to add something to my ork oc for his lore and decided it would be sick if he had a Maw-Krusha as pet in 40K, but it is an age of sigmar creature so i was thinking, can i just make up a planet where he found these things to be native in
and decided to tame one for himself
i guess that can also work
alright then thanks for the idea
i mean hey a Carnosaur is mentioned in the book warboss
||The beast was a foul piece of work, but he
had, in an odd way, earned Armenius’ respect. Not actual respect, he hastily
added to himself, nothing that meant the ork deserved anything less than
utter annihilation by any means necessary or available, but the respect you
might show a mighty carnosaur which had been brought to bay on a grav-
bike hunt||
so not the most ridiculous idea i suppose
Carnosaurs are large two-legged predatorial Dinosaurs found on Exodite Worlds and are born from violent Warp activity.[2] They are sometimes used as war mounts for Exodites in war and can wield Prism Weaponry.[1] They are also known to attack the megasaur herds on Knight Worlds.[2]
Not the same type of Carnosaur
Its more like the LM one in fantasy
welp can you blame me warhammer is not good at that department
Like Both of these are fucking called a Gargant
i love orks and Gargants but it's not fun to try and remember that they are separate things
pretty much yeah, remember warhammer narrative stuff is built on excuses
FUCK YEAH WE BALL
in lore da orkz can put squig brains in pretty much anything even other orkz so its not beyond the realms he took a big beast and got a painboy to put a squig brain in it
yes i know that but i want it to be more less basic than that
They just trap a giant in a metal box
and have whole cavalry lines of boarboyz
that's Feral orks
They are the same thing
nah snakebitez are actual space klan
they just follow da old wayz
thats why in old 40k eds you could mix and match WHF parts with 40k parts
for snakebiterz
Snakebites use Squighogs
boars are used by feral orks
Snakebites can use them but they are master breeders and beast masters so they can basically make squigs that are better than boars
yeah Feral Orks are basically primitive orks that have not been exposed to technology
snake bites are aware of technology but they don't like it
nothing stopping your ork OC from being feral though to begin with and getting a tough mount that only gets tougher
before probably becoming a freeboota or something
my ork is merc and i have a way to just write him genetically altering his squiggosaur to become a Maw-Krusha
I’m only posting this because cawls fucking servo skull is killing me

Btw is the cawl action in the pre Guiliman books worth getting them for? (I love cawl)
May as well just get Fall of Cadia
Just fall of cadia?
Unrelated question, I’m trying to have a fight with gangers in my one shot where there’s an artificial timer in the form of them burning/destroying records, where after a certain point they destroy the missive that they were given by the cold trader that the party is trying to find. I’m not really sure what that missive and other info would look like or what they would have access to, like if they’d have cogitators or data slates
Also I'm trying to come up with info that would be like kinda useful to connect the identity of the cold trader (A minor noble of a house with rumors of xenotech trade) but is less useful than the main piece of info, which would be in a room locked behind a cogitator to unlock it
Never go wrong with Velum Scrolls.
Yeah I got that, I just gotta figure out what the content of the scrolls would be
the useless ones would have deals for water trades (the gang controls the water purification facilities locally and extorts people for it), or for records of various deals
But I'm trying to figure out semi connecting information to identify that this cold trader is apart of said noble house
The main piece of info will be a encrypted data slate because this noble isnt stupid enough to hand unsecured blackmail information to random gangs
the data slate will be more difficult to get information out of the longer the fight goes on, as they attempt to corrupt or destroy the data on it
Does all this seem plausible?
Maybe scroll that has the adress and codes toward the real info
The address of the cold trader?
and codes how?
also I'm realizing it might be kinda unrealistic for gangers to even keep records
maybe they were keeping them to try and double cross this person later if they didnt get their payment?
I just dont know how to leave clues without it being really obvious
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpo2dOQHRK0 1:09 What does the pilot say here? Sounds like he says "fuck"
The Aeronautica Imperialis soar through the skies of a million battlefields, desperately staving off some of the Imperium's most dangerous foes. We got to see that first-hand in episode three of the Warhammer TV series, the Tithes. What did you think?
#Warhammer #Warhammer40k #GamesWorkshop #WarhammerTV
All content is copyright to Games Worksh...
yeah i'm Pretty sure that's what he said
Thats a word in 40k?
yes?
i mean it's a very much appropriate word of expressing how much **** the universe throws at you
I know words like shit and bastard are used but they always seem to replace fuck with something else
they do but Fuck is one of the most consistent swear words in the world
makes sense why it would survive into the 41st millennium
and plus a lot of worlds speak gothic
So it has definitely good enough reasonings that it would last that long into the future
Im looking through the comment section and people are saying this is the first "fuck" in 40k. If that is in fact what he says
i usually see frag being used instead of fuck since 40k is still PG-13
Its not
"fuck" has been said before in Crime novels too
this is however the first major media usage of it
yeah major media wise OK sure but in setting wise?
Its mostly due to censorship laws when its come to literature rules in the UK
Far from it
its very weird and niche but idk the details behind it, but thats largely the reason why they always avoid f-bombs in novels, i guess animated media is a different thing
you can describe somebody being disemboweled by a chainsaw sword but you cant say the F word
Yep society moment.
Nudity bad but violence good.
Or just f-bombs in this case lol
OK so in a setting known for it's crushing depressingness you can describe a baby getting eaten by a chaos cultist but you can't say the F word?
Its up there with "We can show the most violent shit ever done to this person because hes a robot not a human"
it's oil not blood trust me
michael bay moment
its the same with how you can bypass movie ratings slightly by using other bodily liquids when someone is hurt or damaged instead of red blood
censorship is very funny
It's just weird to be honest because you can literally explain an ork tearing a human limb from limb and biting his head off but the F word is not negotiable?
Or showing a nipple
Its been a thing with censorship media since the 90's so idk
media censorship was started by karens so dont think about it too much
Man people are weird
Transformers moment. In kids media, getting a scratch and it bleeding is too far but seeing someone get torn apart brutally is fine. Its just a silly robot, who cares lol
Yeah back in the day they used to cut up horror/action movies to absolute bits due to violent scenes
To the point that sometimes the movie didnt make sense lol
the creators usually appeal to the studios since the more high your rating is the less chances it has to be distributed
you would think they would have sorted everything out with like an adult tag or something at this point but you know the world sucks So what can we do
which like, well if you wanna make money is not good lol
That came later.
Censorship regarding most violent things is much more lax now
thank goodness
i want to read about a guy getting his head lopped off with a chainsaw
keep in mind that like 60 years ago, a woman showing her legs was considered outrageous
^
Also, in dartkide, is it new that when you stim, your screen goes fuzzy? Or is it a graphical setting that got reset or something? Or is it lore?
Yes it’s an intended effect
U can turn it off with mods
Oh, so im guessing its lore? I always thought it was strange how we got sanctioned to use the stims
Combat Stimms are very common things
Well yeah, but not combat stims produced by the heretics lol
it's not made by them though
Yeah the ones the cultists make are super corrupted/glowy green shit.
Graphical setting.
I think it was uhhh
the fuck was the name
we basically just analyzed it and made our own version that is safe
im in the psykhanium and its not doing it anymore
Also wait, i actually knew that but just forgot. Still my point kinda stands. Strange to base our stims off the heretics
technically to be fair we are basically just you know copying the facilities they make it and then have our own now
and plus their tech is still ours but just use for a bad purpose
i guess yeah, fair enough
Im pretty sure i was bugged. When i stimmed my whole screen went like mega fuzzy for a few seconds.
yeah, idk
One last thing on the stims. Its a shock to me that they still dont have a breif stat screen thing when you look at them. To this day, i still have no clue what the blue one does lol. Im guessing it speeds up your actions or something but still not sure.
There isnt a stat screen because its not that hard to figure out what the stimms do. Its kindergarten tier color coding.
increases your speed and firerate
and also your melee
Also quell rate if you a psyker too
also less stamina usage
👆
Tbf, id say they arnt really self explanatory. I first thought that the blue one was a speed boost and i never knew that the red one gave you armour pen.
Also the existence of that steam post kinda backs my point
Considering almost the entire playerbase basically figures out what they largely do id say its pretty explanatory. And like if you dont get it you can just go experiment in the psykanium and figure it out that way too.
And its the same color coding as per the potions from VT2, so if you got any experience at all you'd instantly know what they do.
The steam post is more just people wanting even more stat details on what a basic feature does as with anything.
yeah Darktide is very much a figure things out yourself game
What builds you make what perks on weapons you put on
and figuring out stimm usage
Idk i kinda figured out what stimms did after like 5m of playing with them
tho mine like Dil mentioned comes mostly from VT2
"This is a red syringe, it must mean big damage or something"
"Blue has arrow/lightning mark, its probably speed related"
etc
Idk, i think a quick "Med Stim: Heals wounds, purges corruption" as an example wouldn't hurt.
Meh its not that big of a deal imo
I mean yeah, in the grand scheme its not that big of a deal, but i bet that a bunch of new/casual players still have no clue what some of the stims do.
Considering they barely even know more basic gameplay features thats not anything new

It can depend on the player because like I have no experience in tide games besides dark tide but when it came out I was like
green heals
yellow for cooldown
red for more damage
and blue for speek
some players pick up a game faster than others
Idk what they do
But I can guess
The devil giving us an exact stat page with values in any game?
Never
Devs*
It autocorrected to devil lmao
Might as well be with how much data mining some people do
Honestly some believe that the Chaos Gods are interesting because of the fact that they're familiar.
And some want more Eldritch themes in them
Personally I think they have the right amount of both if that makes any sense.
I would love to have a bit more nuance. With them being depicted closer to Warhammer Fantasy. But overall I think I actually like them for the right amount of familiarity and not familiarity.
Watched this video, I hope that we get Plaugebearers and/or Rinda Karnak as a Herald of Nurgle

Th...
We know what anger is, what sadness is, etc. But we don't really know ourselves that well.
There are parts that are simply just hidden from our conscious mind.
I think that's what the Chaos Gods represent
The potential depths we can let ourselves fall into.
Without even knowing that you are falling.
I like that part. It's just too bad that most of the people that have more complex fallings are SMs due to the Horus Heresy and all that.
Yeah I really like the scene with Fabius and Slaanesh
That did a good mix I think
Since most of the normal human cultists fall literally because they want more than two meals per day
Yeah.
The right amount of intimidating power. The power of something both familiar and alien. Fabius was falling apart while desperately trying to deny it.
I have heard of a fanfic where the Chaos Gods actually had "good" parts. Because no being can exist without a bit of nuance. But due to being Chaos. They literally just locked them away in a warp realm and prevented them from ever reaching out to the outside world.
So that they can continue ruining the universe without anybody telling them "No".
Anybody significant at least
Kinda like having that little voice telling you
"Y'know maybe you shouldn't inject 8 needles of drugs made out of people"
And then just ignoring jt
I thought it was that each god expressly did have a good side, but because the whole universe sucks all the time, the bad parts are now nearly their whole shtick

Like how Nurgle is health, regrowth, fertility or something
Yeah Nurgle is a Life and Nature god ironically
The problem is that also includes things like
Parasites
Viruses
Etc.
Basically Isha was the typical Nature God
And she is locked away and constantly tortured
Because Nurgle is like a Toxic Boyfriend
"Take a hit of this delectable broth brah"
"Please no more"
Like Nurgle represents just Toxic love in general
Which is why he's my second favorite because I have seen that shit before
And it is terrifying on a primal level to me
Nurgle is my favorite god tbh, he's relatively simple but it's a cool thing
Nurgle and Tzeentch are my favorites
Khorne will just stab you.
Slaanesh at least is pleasant for the first days or so.
Nurgle will torture you, while stating that they love you. And it's for your own good.
Slaanesh doesn't get enough good representation, Khorne seems one-dimensional but then I've never seen much about him
There could be the anger that comes from a desire to protect the things and people that you love
The only complexity to khorne came from Norscans exclusively
But it just devolves into base anger
Yeah definitely. Kinda wish Khorne just had the martial shit all to himself tbh.
Like I get why Slaanesh would also encompass martial mastery.
But also it would be more interesting if it delved into other stuff more
Pre-heresy EC were my favorite traitor legion before I read A Thousand Sons
I like that Nurgle's followers will at times break free of the pyro-vision-esque illusion and see how disgusting and horrible and wrong everything is, tweak out, then snap back into the illusion
That is good horror right there
Then again both Khorne and Slaanesh encompassing Martial Mastery is probably why they hate each other lmao
Flight of the Eisenstien was a really good showing of Nurgle
Literally just a brother and sister constantly fighting each other for a figurine

...God the idea of two kids pulling at an expensive figurine makes me cringe
"NO DON'T TOUCH THE TITANS!"
Yeah it's quite fucked. Especially since Nurgle also represents Depression
Like... God I can't believe I'm saying this.
Suicidal Idealism was strangely comforting?
And I feel like Nurgle's "love" represents that. Because it doesn't matter how far you've fallen. It doesn't matter anyways. You're gonna die soon. You're.. """"free""""
And that's why he's probably the scariest to me
Anyways actual serious conversation aside
Female Space Marines (real)

"Screw the Geneseed. I can pilot this shit myself "
- "Brother" Alice
Big woman enjoyers will look at this and fall into a deep depression
Man, her last collab with Cali and Irys was pretty rad
Trust me, 40k is not lacking in big women
By idiotoftheeast
God....
Honestly this made me laugh way too hard
Mainly because of the Krieger whispering "Should I kill myself?"
Imagine trying to date somebody and they immediately whisper to themselves
"What is this... Weird feeling? Should I kill myself?'

I meant more the fat tiddie but yeah that would be wild
Yeah
Tig biddies
My boobs are my shield

God I need a GF and a life
The most accurate part of Darktide is the women having no cleavage because everyone in the Imperium is malnourished as fuck
And there not being "perfect model" faces
The only supermodel imperials you will see in 40k is usually fanart anyway
or Celestine i guess whos got cheat codes
You begin the game by describing how horrible of a childhood your character had and mfs are still surprised that we're not playing as League of Legends ass characters
Celestine is like
literally a reanimated corpse
perfected with warp energy
she doesn't count lol
Hows terra doing? Whats it like? Just filled with high society and stuff?
Also i just saw this. Brother, you dont need a life nor a gf. What you need is to do crack and kill people. Worked for me
horribly
There's a ton of poor people
its an adminstrative capital
Its a hive-city on steroids
the entire surface is cities upon cities
even around the Palace its bad
and yeah as Wolf shit its literally a shithole
the singular shrivled up grape being a luxury

Nobles live a terrible life mostly
the ones at the very very very top don't
The average person starved to death
after the great rift opened
but that didn't put a huge dent in the population
even with the rampent supression of riots
and cannibalism
unironically
the mass famine and daemon invasion
made the planet more stable
due to how many people it killed
So whats the whole situation with the big man on the chair then? Is that just like a super well guarded area and everything else around that is just shit ?
The imperial palace is super well guarded and not everything around it is shit
The actual administrative buildings are pretty “nice”
It’s just everything else sucks
That's kind of a surprise honestly
I thought because of all of the terraforming tools the Imperium has that Terra would be a lot better off
And considering it's the Holy Capital of the Imperium of Mankind (tm)
hey did those deathwatch rules release?
oh oka
hows the video game going wolf
Wdym
the anime game about racism and adventure
Everybody seems to be keeping up their Mewing streak though
Seriously Everytime I look at their faces
I just think of
It's also why most of them get into debauchery
Because being constantly worried of being assassinated
Gets to you
Also I think malnourishment wouldn't be a thing for soldiers.
At least in the beginning/just being deployed
Probably would be after a few months or so of battling
The food tastes like garbage but it's supposed to at least give enough nutrients for you to continue going typically
Basically kinda at that stage of
"Hungry but not seriously so"
Basically what I'm saying is
They would be calorie deficient
But they'd at least have their vitamins

Catachan probably eat a lot as well tbh
So that they can keep their muscles
It probably isn't
Yeah Imperial food is often described as like
"Ultra efficient" or whatever
And also tasting like complete garbage
Corpse starch and the like only comes in extremely desperate situations
like idk
"Tyranids are fucking dropping from the sky"
type of situations
I don’t get how you like, hit someone with a crow bar in movies and shit
Like what point are you trying to hit someone with?
Depends, are you trying to open them, or close them?
Its kinda hard to do it wrong
stab it into them like a piece of rebar if you want
choke them with it if thats your thing
violence is very freeform
like
you have a sharp end
thats hooked
you can bash them with either side of it
Still trying to write this one shot, I'm trying to decide where I want this xenotech dead-drop to take place, and where I want the BBEGs lair to be, like if it should be a hidden blacksite type deal, or a hidden in plain sight noble's holdings
Did the leagues of votann get lore?
they're getting a book
1 year
well
under 1 year ig
LoV came out summer 2023
wait
wtf
nvm
They came out Novemeber 2022
So 2 years
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dvyXzdbIpMI I came to ask after suddenly seeing this dreadanon video
THEY'RE JUST A LITTLE NEW, THEY'RE STILL GOOD, THEY'RE STILL GOOD!
THEY'RE JUST A LITTLE AESTHETICALLY GENERIC, THEY'RE STILL GOOD, THEY'RE STILL GOOD!
THEY JUST HAVE A SMALL MODEL RANGE, THEY'RE STILL GOOD! THEY'RE STILL GOOD!
(They're lame)
I know. :(
#necrons #leaguesofvotann #warhammer40k
its by gav thrope
so its going to have a lot of lore in it
unfortunately its also by gav thrope
Weird question, do we think cadian style purple eyes could develop on any world near a warp tear or an abundance of warp activity?
Or was it just an eye of terror thing
Imo yes
But Cadia is special in that the eye has been there so long + so close
Mhm
I’m curious about a situation like caliban specifically
Cause you had the warp tear near it effect the wildlife and forestry of the planet, so I’m curious if something like that coulda popped up
that also confuses me like, Shouldn't they have display more drastic mutations because of their proximity in that
but apparently their eyes changing color is the most drastic change

Theyre cadian though so they're just built different
I am at least 80% sure that they do actually have increase mutations
but they just uh
...
cull them more

I'd also imagine the "standards" would be lightened tho
Like if you got a 6th finger on your hands
A fucked up eye
whatever
Who cares? Grab a gun, Daemons are coming to fucking murder us
By McBearBoi
idk about you but he seems pleasant
