It’s mentioned it’s very weird to control and learn to use
At the same time the threat of "the traitor" is ever present
ye ik abaddon was stated to be abnormally fluid in termie armour in the istvan book
There’s a funny part in a Deathwing book where a marine finally starts walking with a set he’s practicing with and then he realizes he doesn’t know how to stop
bro is going to just kool-aid man through any wall he runs into
It moves very differently from normal power armor and is a big adjustment
the suit basically does it's damnest to make sure you don't fall over
i like how the problem isn't moving but it's stopping the movement
Yeah but with the way death guard work wouldn't they literally just fuse to it and the thing becoming their new body
become that Xmen guy
So if Atoma's convict strike teams would succeed, they'd be executed anyway... Damn
and if you tip forward you'll just start barreling forwards and it isn't very easy to stop that if you're not expecting it apparently
that's hilarious
I mean they are literal penal conscripts anyway, their lives are already forfeit
built in stabilizer
We are an inquisitorial strike team
Not the most best armed and well trained but
Literally cannon fodder
Gets the job done
It does but it’s still a big adjustment
So having access to some rather forbidden knowledge isn't really out there
Everyone's Cannon fodder, just progressively more useful cannon fodder
By the time we're doing missions with actual gear we're part of the warband as semi-trusted goon squads, so we'd prolly survive
Like yes we are run of the mill penal conscripts that reached acolyte status
dude we literally pick up chaos books on the regular
you think our guys wouldn't even peek a little
One of our missions is literally curing a daemonic tree that constantly
Poisons the f****** environment
After the job is done these strike teams would be executed just for their knowledge of Chaos
nah we're inquisitor agents so we get a pass
We're the exception though, it's repeated by intercom folks that casualties for the rejects in general are horrific
Not really
The inquisitor were working for right now specializes in these kinds of stuff so we get a pass
otherwise the whole inquisitor retinue would be dead in a week
Ah, I see. Good to know
it's not like we're given any power too
i dont think we can run away even if we tried
Yeah like we are given some salvaged run of the mill gear
And then told to clear up or do this mission
But again casualties are incredibly horrific
Also nurgle infection isn’t always the same
Yeah being the god of disease he has has a lot of things
For his disposal
Right now the infection on the planet hasn't gotten that bad
there's still a regular war going on between loyalist and chaos moebians right?
Yep strike teams have one job and that is performing surgical operations to either strengthen the loyalists or weaken the heretics
Like you know stealing supplies or assassinating warlords
Some descriptions have it melting anyone who gets close other times it’s something you can just wear a gasmask and be ok
happy krieg noises
I'm killing you
I mean we did take out at least one of the bio weapon specialists in a mission
Rondin?
I'm pretty sure is dead
Causing his knowledge of bio weaponry to disappear
Also it’s pretty explicit that this whole tactic of using a bunch of convicts is out of desperation and a lack of manpower otherwise
The whole strategy is very unorthodox
Also Jay jump off a cliff
I mean we are very lucky and tough convicts i mean
Because at level 30 we become acolytes
Yeah we’re the cream which rose to the top
the top still being very very low on the ranks
Hey at least we can get actual taken care of weapons
me when the ship guardsman compliments me instead of calling me ugly
these guys stand around doing jack shit all day
I mean they are near Sefoni
So poor sods there
literally a single level 1 ogryn would kill all them
wtf are their lasguns supposed to do against a whole ship full of rejects
Let's be honest level one even the zealot would kill them
Veterans are experts in fighting because they have been doing that for so long
Psykers and ogryns don't need an explanation
considering how every origin has all the possible character choices having a lot of experience i can see that happening
vet is a vet lol
And zealots are so f****** crazy that they will practically kill you before you can kill them
There’s nothing friendly about my fire!
zealots being pyromaniacs seem to be a common thing
totally sane individual
Yeah zealots out of every class might lack they're combat experience and fancy powers but they make up for it by being incredibly insane and faithful
Like the sheer amount of aggression they can output will probably allow them to power through the guards
some of the zealot origins have them actually guarding shrines i think
The literally have the “Local man too angry to die” as a perk
Yeah like i'm pretty sure their faith can manifest in game as one of the abilities right
Yeah the artifact
I prefer the fury of the faithful one
It's always funny rushing the monstrosity and hitting it with a thunder hammer
Lorewise we’re still at a standstill right?
What do the Karnak Twins count as
i guess in this hierarchy, wolfer basically is acting colonel
Have us fight a stolen Lemann Russ
I want a big raid boss
Do the Karnak Twins count as a raid boss at all?
Is it possible to do a thought provoking story with Orks?
depends on what you mean by thought provoking
Yes
Have Orks have depth to them besides loving war and krumping
If properly executed they can genuinely be scary
Yes that is a thing
You know the human farms
I know they can be scary, but do personal stories about Orks happen?
Theres plenty of stories of humans underestimating orks intelligence
Oh well
Practically no
They are practically so simple and assured of themselves that it's kind of hard to make them doubt their own existence
The closest you can get was Ghaz
Like a story for Orks to the same depth and caliber as Titus in Space Marine
I hear good things about The Big Dakka
Its about an ork whos waagh gets involved in the commoragh gladiator pits
Its from the warboss's pov
Wait are waaaghs physical things and not just war cries and them mispronouncing war?
It's the psychic field they generate
And the name of their crusades of going around smashing stuff
Its similar to skave vermintides
And Warhammer 40k Darktides

I seriously really do want a Waaghtide game
That would be amazing
The WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGHHH!!! Is what allows orks to do their belief thing but remember it's very very limited and it only works on them
Like they can make a very poorly built gun work and applying red paint on a vehicle makes it faster but other than that
Basically nothing else
It's basically psychic duct tape
New class?
what dat stim injector do
inject Stims
Tummy...... ouuugh.....
Nah. Its just small release with lore and NPCs

I got no context on whats going on
I just saw the model and thought that'd be a lil funny to type out
@rose thorn you were talking about the red gobbo and orks having a christmas special right well
I guess gw beat you to the punch on that one
are they fieldable
I'm going to be honest i preferred this fit then whatever the hell the old one wears
Yes he's been reduced to a christmas mascot but at least it's not this
That’s why I mentioned it lol
Necromunda continues to have the best 40k minis
I forgot how much of a bad bitch she is
Welp how long do you think gw will continue this trend of making christmas grots
You think next year they will stop finally?
Until it stop making money
True
When do you think the next Bugman and White Dwarf will be ?
Imagine we got those as new cosmtics
3 months
Oughh....B
If only esher is the most annoying warband to fight
Fair
well early in a campaign
Ye
Like oh my god they all have bolters and flak armor
Nothing a melta bomb can’t solve
‘Today I will make a horde faction who is really fast and can potentially one shot any organic creature’
I can’t say much because venators my beloved but damn
Tbf the Tyranids don't one shot people (at least the smaller ones)
They will however
Make you wish that they one shot you due to their sheer numbers
Because it's better to just get sliced in half and die
Then to get eaten by a bunch of tiny mfs
Concussion Carbines can be quite good, if there are ledges nearby
I was referring to clan esher
House esher*
Burn
I heard they got nerfed a while ago
So I neee to see if they are still hell to fight
I wish house orklock wasn’t ass without vehicles
Orlock is fine without vehicles
You get mesh armor standard
Orlock champs are quite good
Orlock also can make big money
also you're fucking fast if you're running prospects
Firebird solo
Question for the nerds out there.
Is it better to have a guardsman squad equipped with only bolters or with only plasma guns?
On the tabletop?
or like in lore
also what edition if its the tabletop because it isn't possible in some lol
Lore more than anything. I'm looking at Only War and the question occurred to me
Lore wise plasma gun
It’s going to be a lot harder to get everyone equipped with one but plasma is safe assuming you aren’t operating it in an unsafe manner
In which that case yeah
It’s gona overheat
Disregarding things like scarcity.
I think plasma gun too but a friend of mine is willing to die on bolter hill.
Would you rather have a really heavy ass gun that munches .75 shells but can't even pen tank armor or something that adds windows to any surface you point it at
That's what I said
His counter argument is reload time, but that's assuming anything will even be alive by that point
40 round magazine but a 5 turn reload
DT plasma is 45 shots but a 9 second reload
I think it's a fine trade off
Yeah
Just don't miss idiot
What engagement will allow you to take 40 shots with a plasma
I assume if you're fighting something that can survive that much, you have bigger problems than ammo efficiency.
Hey have you seen the brood brothers KT rules yet?
Are they as insane as they were last edition?
still an insanely good team
but rn elite teams are pretty strong
Brood Bros are strong
but they aren't literally top 1 undisbuted like they were last edition
lol
I’m just gushing about how pretty the sniper rifle in that kit is
And cursing they don’t have 40k rules
brood bro sniper is mandatory
mostly because you need a way to pop heavier stuff
or just murder something instantly
Ice
I hope wyrmblade gets an update to bring more stuff or a third GSC KT
Not mroe as in, more units
More as in more choices
I’d like to bring my terrorism girl boss
I'm just going to
drag out my tierlist
I am not a very competitive player for killteam
but I do like to keep up with pro play so uh
grain of salt and all that lol
What is brood team?
Teams are in order inside of tiers
Ah. Genestealer
yeah
both the hivestorm teams are pretty mid imo
Vespids are really fucking hard
like to an unreasonable degree arguably
Hard to play as or hard to fight against?
does uh, inquisitoral agents, still do taht thing where its half of a KT
also C means like, actuall mid or is it 'bad but nicer said'
I heard that during the great crusade, chaos was incredibly weakened and can only manifest whispers and wasnt until after the Horus Heresy that they became as powerful as they are now which is why the emperor didnt say anything about them. But would it have been possible if the emperor told them about chaos but a warped view that caused them to become benevolent beings like before the War in Heaven?
its fucking crazy that they just, stuck in the msot importnat GSC box with the KT, making it basically unbuyable for GSC players in the combo box lol
legit one of teh dumbest fucing things i think they ever did
who would win
like 8 regular ass guardsmen
or
A literal living demi god of a cult
like, its so dumb, the patriarch is technically a NAMED CHARACTER
C means middle of the pack
okay nice
Yeah they’re really customizable still
D means kind of bad
F is like
why tier
Ah okay
Who can be requisitioned anyway?
Sisters of silence huh, neat
kinda suprised htey cant take scouts
Sisters of silence are just better scouts
Lol
Aside from wound count
Higher melee volume + better save
The bolter is slightly better for sisters of silence as well iirc
They’re trying to avoid redundant options
lmao
Oh how low the pathfinders have fallen
In an argument about admech using slavery
Does anyone have the quote
Omg how do I get her to listen that skitarri are in fact slaves
At that point if they are that stupid its not worth it
admech are literally one of the most fucking evil factions in 40k
its literally what makes them loved by the fandom/so funny
Lmao yeah
I love my partner, but damn I don’t like her fleets lore, but it’s fine it’s only homebrew lore
theres a reason the only difference between Chaos Admech and Normal Admech is one uses daemons/has more spikes

otherwise ALL their practices are the same
Lmao
I’m in the process of rewriting my custom cult, it feels weird my cult is more evil then her admech
But what ever
The metal one?
Metallica
Metallicus?
No the joke is the Adeptus mechanicus
Generally uses more slavery then chaos or traitor mechanicus
Oh lmao
OHH
Why would the hive mind allow my gsc to be space pirates is the question
Maybe they are going and seeking a hive fleet to dive into?
Probably so they can propagate the spread of a cult further
Yeah but how does being well, pirates spread the cult
Do they leave behind genestealers?
True
What’s the psychology tho ‘they follow the false emperor, they must suffer before they can experience the blessing of the 4 armed emperor’
Oh yeah let me google how irl pirates think
Welp time to watch documentaries about modern day pirates
Oh neat, I never considered that pirates are still religious or spiritual
Shit
Y'know
This is kinda crazy tbh
If the Imperium ever falls
Not like ‘insane’ but like
The imperium should split in 2 pretty please I beg
Most talk about the Imperium ending similar to the End Times
But y'know what would be completely mundane but also completely reasonable?
Taxes.
‘Yeah big corporations come to our land and exploit us, so we make sure no one comes here and hurts our people and we pay for what we can’
The Imperium just taxed all the planets a little bit too much
So they revolt
A chain reaction happens. Too much to control
Oil companies come and literlaly refuse to hire the locals
So then it essentially becomes fucking balkanized
So the pirates raid their ships and force them to pay ransoms
Due to taxes
Maybe each of the Primarchs when they return. Can also have a chunk of their own
Yeah I remember a situation where a bunch of Somalian pirates tried to raid
A fucking US Navy Aircraft Carrier
Yeha apparently the Somalian pirates are mostly wiped out
Yeah
Also on one hand. I actually feel a bit bad for the pirates in that situation
On the other hand
...
Do stupid shit
Modern day pirates is just really sad tbh, the coasts of Africa are absolutely ravaged by corporations
And they refuse to hire the locals
Like I feel bad because they probably just wanted food
So the villages just get poorer and poorer
On the other hand
If you see a fucking SUPER CARRIER
You either have to run
Or surrender
They probably thought it was a normal carrier tbh
Like
Cargo ship
This is the only way many many villages actually get money
The though ransoms and raids
And a part of me is just thinking "does this count as natural selection?"
If you have never seen an elephant
Oh
Apparently they actually didn't think it was a cargo ship
The USA attacked first
However
They were stupid enough to try BOARDING THE FUCKING THING
Instead of surrendering
Okay so
Pirates don’t get the rights in court
As people do
So literally they would have been killed either way
Literally the coasts are so over fished by foreign counties that there just isn’t enough food
It’s insane
And also crews will gun down local fishermen
Out of fear of them being pirates
This is a weird turn for the conversation
But do Imperium pirates exist
Like the desperate kind
Random question, do you think that brain rot made it to the 42nd millenium
Yeah cause I'm thinking like.
Maybe some planets send out pirates so that they can help pay the Tithe
You destroy dozens of human pirates in rogue trader
Like they have their local PDF raid some ships
Rogue traders are basically privateers as well
Brother on skibidi rizz this gyatt is vibing
Necromunda:
So yes
Considering it's supposed to be the darkest period in humanity
Mainly the rich
Yes
LMAO
The ai revolution happened when the tiktok brainrot afflicted 99 percent of humanity
The emperor is so sigmar
And decided they were no linger fit to rule
pfffffft
"I FEEL SO SIGMA"
The emperor of mankind has been mewing since the dawn of time
Man he fucking wishes
Okay so I think I have a psychology for my cult down
The imperium is fucking evil
Lmao
End of story
Chaos cult: yeah we're a workers rights union

Genestealer cult: hey join our organization, we set up soup kitchens to feed the homeless and poor
Tbh unironically most Chaos cults kinda disguise themselves as that
Imagine joining like
A fraternity for the local college
And then when you go into the meeting
They're literally all fucking each other
If you give that burnt out manufactorum worker a work life balance, hes going to get lazy and worship nurgle
And then it actually happens
To be fair. I think part of the reason why that actually happens might be because like
The average Imperium citizen probably has like zero fun
Theres like a realistic part of it where this would be a genuine reason someone might join a cult
So they basically go overboard
The satire of it is that its just accepted its going to turn out to be a cult at some point
Stuck between the imperium, gsc, and chaos cult is a difficult dilemma
And as soon as they got into college
And got their own dorm
They immediately went out of control
Because they never really experienced freedom
And fun
A; long terrible life of basically slave labor
B; very short very free life until the last few minutes
C; either very short life or very long life where you are a slave to your own and others darkness desires
I think that's kinda why Imperium people become fucking
So easily
Corruptable
At least the normal Hiver
Because they're oppressed 24/7
And then they're suddenly given weed
And told
"Go nuts"
Basically it's like
Living in a sensory deprivation chamber
Your entire life
And then suddenly being shoved into a fucking rock Concert
And offered Speed
You just get overwhelmed
yeah they're also super disinformed on whats out there
Yeah so that's probably why only like
CSMs or whatever have complex reasons
While the average cultist is like
"I want two meals a day!"
"No. Three!"
Reminds me of an interaction with a prisoner in RT
Hes talking about the warden going to chaos and how he knew right off the bat he was crazy is because he was offering 3 meals
also what chaos god was he worshipping/corrupted by
No it was just food
Guy wasn't cool enough for demons
why did he give more food than usual
I love the fact that in warhammer that being kick on the head is like the bare minimum kindest treatment they can get
And that if you go any kinder they think you are insane
like was it part of a convoluted plan
He wanted loyalty from the inmates or smth
ah
that actually makes sense
...but also it doesn't because why the fuck would they have loyalty to him
I can barely remember, it is a super early part of the story that takes like 30 mins tops
bro was a dumbass
It worked
Yeah basically that's what he wanted
nice
Killed him more than once as well
seriously that must be a blessing from tzeentch
there is no way that plan would work otherwise

Literally the specialty of chaos is taking in those that are being broken by the imperium
Why do you think they have so many
Because the imperium is shit and some people would rather escape to chaos than suffer that shit
These were also prisoners sent to a barren rock to do hard labor
Hard labor by imperium standards
ah
okay makes sense now
Yeah imagine being sent to a giant asteroid for you to just mine there
For the rest of your life
So, what horrible thing should the imperium do to make my local population become genestealers cult space pirates
Maybe the planet was exterminated? So what survivors was left they had to escape via ships
Saw the horror of an entire worlds population being blown out like a candle
Maybe a false belief of a disease? Like some imperium official believe the planet was infected with a disease that did not exist? Or maybe the area was already populated with pirates and the imperium falsely identified the planet as the hub of the piracy
So they

And put a kill order on any ships that escaped
Simple
The planet couldn't pay the Tithe
So the Imperium forced them to either pay or die
Unfortunately the planet just didn't have the resources. So the Imperium did a massacre to teach them a "lesson"
and then left
How about that the planetary governor is so **** at his job that they decided to just go for another world because this one would literally fall without their help
The survivors found faith in an angel of the Emperor to save them.
...
The angel of the emperor just happened to have four arms
totally not a coincidence
also to make it funnier
Very imperium lmao
have it so that the resources the Imperium took to massacre the planet
was more than the tithe itself

Like 15 guys had so much wealth they could pay the imperial tithe single handedly, but they didn’t want to and fucking dipped. When the imperium came along they just pillaged the population until the tithe was paid.
actually that sounds funny also
again add this detail too
Ye
the resources they used to pillage the population was more than the tithe
so it was a net-negative
They finally learned the galaxy was a dog eat dog world, they stole everything and expect more from them
But they know better now
The cult basically became so big
Because there was no resources left and no government left
They left the planet in troves
You should have the tale be told in a biased viewpoint
cause genestealer
uhh lemme think
Wishing to teach the galaxy the cruel lesson they have learned
"The planet was desolated by those above. We almost lost faith thinking that the Emperor has abandoned us"
"But lo and behold! An angel descended from the heavens!"
"With four wings, THEY helped us abandon our barren home planet"
Trying to play into the irl pirate inspiration
Of course it’s still there
But also the religious aspect is mainly caused by those infected by the gsc virus
"THEY told us of angels in the sky. Swarms of them. The Emperor was mad at the Imperium for falling so low, so they devasted those planets."
"And so, we shall do the same."
"For the Emperor"
“If we have learned anything from the corpse god, it’s the gorged will eat the starving before each other. But I would like to teach the gluttonous Imperium a lesson, it’s true the other way around.“
The Starving Maw is a genestealer cult originating from the single planet system Esuri. Once a prominent naval outpost to combat the mass pirate activity of the sector, it and many more outposts were abandoned after successfully wiping out the pirate threat. This had caused the local economy to spiral so badly the planetary governor’s family owned over 98% of Esuri’s wealth. Eventually this wealthy family have decided to cash out and leave the planet shortly before the tithe was due. Once tithe collectors have reached the planet the entire government was completely missing and its wealth so the collectors instead pillaged the population for months until enough money, valuables, and people were stolen to pay for the Imperial Tithe and countless late fees for delaying the process this long. The planet was a lawless wasteland where gangs tried to rise to power to control the planet and what little wealth remained until a single group had risen to power. This group had promised their new god not pnli from the imperium’s eventual return but revenge for their crimes. Just over a year later upon the return of the Imperial tithe collectors, they were seemingly given all of their demands without resistance. But upon opening their cargo to assure the tithe is properly accounted for, the citizens had hidden them selves among the goods and opened fire. The ship’s crew was wiped out so quickly and efficiently that they couldn’t even signal for help or the fact there was even an attack in the first place. The ship, and any other vessels that were left behind on their home world they could repair, left the planet to exact a revenge against those who took everything from them and to finally slate their hunger.
So I just learned that
the Nagash/Tomb Kings in Warhammer fantasy
There was a book where a tomb queen literally stated to somebody
that if she still had functional genitals and flesh, she would fuck them so hard that they would die
...
and now i'm tempted to have a similar event but for necrons
because that sounds fucking funny
Necrussy?
yes pag
necrussy
jokes aside
I have thought of like a rogue human and necron faction
basically it's better(?) than the Imperium because unlike the Necrontyr back then
They're not THAT busy constantly fighting
emphasis on that
basically it's just a dynasty ruler ruling over humans
why?
because it makes them feel nostaglic
they've lost hope for regaining their soul
so it's the closest thing they have to feeling like they're flesh again
ruling mortal subjects
bonus points that a good chunk of their army doesn't need things like food
kinda imagining them being
Less horrible than the Imperium
but still kinda bad because
40k
basically Tau level, except without the needed permission for fucking
I forget if it was Infinite and the Divine with Trazyn talking with the human he used as an agent and was kind of dumbfounded how poorly he was treated
Literally just
"Bitch you live like this?"
I love Trazyn, dude just wants to run his museum
Need a better gsc name but what ever
oh man been their huh
like what do I name this thing
A place I have been to a many times
Also cult lore
the Four Tusked Voidworm?
hmm
too long i think
the Kraken Fellowship?
yeah GSC Names for i am Stumped
Right now I have the starving maw
the Hungering Stars?
Ooo that’s not a bad one
If you want to read the lore it’s just up a bit, it’s a first draft
that's something that's something
The Armed
Cult of the Ravenous Kraken?
Because they have weapons and extra arms
Probably should go into the religious aspect more
I’ll keep that mind for second draft
cult of the Voideater Emperor
that's all i have i really can't think of the top of my head
Whats their MO as pirates?
Cult of the Voideater is pretty good
yeah that works
remove the emperor and it's a pretty good name
Sneaking onto planets before rapid and heavy assaults
Let me paste my stuff into docs and make second draft
Cult of the void eater or sons of the void eater?
Probably cult
heralds of the voideater?
Not bad but a bit too regal
Can someone explain drukhari to me? they still fear slaanesh, but they pretty much do everything that slaanesh represents, but in order to defend their souls ???
They basically satisfy Slaanesh enough to slow them down and the suffering extends their own life. So it’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t scenario
yes, pain "eases" the hold slaanesh has on their souls
Wouldnt they just be making slaanesh stronger? My understanding is most chaos gods form a stronger bond when you please them. You start killing people more, drinking blood, and being angry? Khorne is after you. You stop taking showers and your allergy meds while you lay in bed all day? Nurgle makes you stinkier.
But if you do what slaanesh wants, they just leave you alone?
They need it to survive too, a drukhari left with food and water but no source to generate pain and they will wither
it’s like feeding a starving lion they kept feeding the lion to survive and giving it more energy. But if you don’t feed the lion you are gonna die. Additionally the drukhari were basically the most fucked up eldar already
So it wasn’t a hard transition
(almsot) all eldar souls are claimed by slaanesh; When she was birthed due to the eldar of old, it consumed the souls of the majority of living eldar at the moment
But it isnt like that for the other gods right? That makes it seem like slaanesh is easily the best chaos god to pledge to. "Have crazy fun and pleasure your entire life, just when youre done i get you" vs "the moment you start youre mine"
because Slannesh was made by the Eldar
there was a ritual and all
the novel Farseer explains the thing
and it's a good book
not too long
Second draft done!!
Farseer is unfortunatey not canon anymore
There's similar stuff in the Jain zaar book though
The Red Gobo prayer matt, Alhamdulillah
Well that is certainly something i didn't expect to see but you know what
It looks fire
Do remember Slaanesh is not only the god of carnal pleasures and pain
Slaanesh is the God of Excess
As such, pleasure and pain is what people mostly glean in regards to pleasing Slaanesh, but another form of excess is all kinds of obsession
Like trying to strive for perfection in all things also fuels Slaanesh
Ironically one could say a zealot's obsession kinda fuels Slaanesh, even if said zeal is in the name of the Emperor
Eldar souls are a delicacy for Slaanesh for being prideful, perfectionist and hedonistic (for Drukhari) is innately very Aeldari traits
Which also happen to be all that Slaanesh has dominion over
tl:dr and eli5:
being too proud fuels Slaanesh
Lorewise Slaanesh love Eldars because they experience things much more strongly than Human or other Species do iirc
Why are plague ogryns so big? Like bigger than regular ogryns
Correct me if im wrong but aren’t they just regular ogryns pumped full of plagues and shite?
no they are also Mutated
each one of them are basically walking sacks of maggots and disease
mutated by the power of Nurgle
Makes sense
WHat did the emperor think about mutants
Another thought just crossed my mind
I could swear I’ve heard ragers say “Valhalla” or something rather or other
Is that just a reused line from vermintide or is it something else?
the fact that this is officially license make it even better
He didnt care about them, they were beneath his notice.
more or less like any tyrant essentially
Its them speaking in the Dark Tongue, i agree it sounds pretty similiar to "valhalla" but its just suppose to be psychotic gibberish
every lines the characters/enemies say in this game is custom, theres no "re-used" assets of any capacity.
fun fact if you listen closely you can hear the groaners say kill me
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
“Uhh man what happened last night”
looks at shit load of warhammer homebrew and my barely touched shool papers
theres no vallhalla in vermintide anyway
Valaya
Dwarven Goddess
norselanders dont consider dwarven ancestor gods as gods I dont think
So do aeldari have a different way to keep slaanesh from consuming their soul?
Soul stones
Thats for when they die though right?
well yeah
So they dont have to torture or anything while theyre alive like the drukhari?
correct
Drukhari; torture
Ynnari: death god
Craft worlds: abstinence and distance
Harlequins: he he he haw
Specifically harlequins forgo their identities to get protection from their clown god
Oh and corsiars don’t give a shit
corsairs can be from any of these right
not sure about Harlequins though
like a group of corsairs can have drukhari eldar and craft world eldar
Their souls are specifically saved from slaanesh’s reach and are revived by him, it’s so weird lol
Become a band kid and damn your soul
I meant as in being part of Corsairs
Oh sorry
don't know if any Harlequins have become corsairs
Infinity Circuit for most
I think they work together but I harlequins aren’t allowed to be corsairs I think?
I gotta read an eldar novel sometime
You can have a harlequin with you but like they aren’t really a Corsair
Gl finding a good one
Ahh shame
Here is Reddit’s 2 cents
So what are the ynnari?
forgotten eldar concept
Gw giving eldar the xenos treatment for the 15th time, give them something really cool and then immediately throw it away. They basically revived / created their god of death and are like, zombies I guess?
But not really
Weiiird
Ynnari seek to revive Ynnead the Eldar god of Death, others have tried before but it was believed that it would be neccesary to sacrafice the entire Eldar populaiton to do it so the plans failed, but the Ynnari believe there is another way to resurrect Ynnead without doing that
Honestly an eldar KT that buffs each other when they die is a neat concept
like the questor warcry warband or the dark oath warcry warband
On Tabletop Ynnari are basically just a Eldar soup faction, they can take Craftworlders, drukhari and harlequins
“Wow! Half the rules, twice as many bad models, and no support only for the cost of two books!”

Soup is a very very loose term for it lmao
It’s more like uh
Running 2 armies that don’t interact at all
that's how most soup armies have been in the past too
like you give up the cool faction specific rules to be able to run another faction with yours
rip brood brothers, locked behind a terrible detachment
even that is a lot better than what we had in 8th where all that mattered was the common main faction keyword but then you'd give up the special rules for anything you'd field
Yea I remember
Remember when you could run multiple sub factions in the same army?
Like bloodied rose and the shooty sisters sect
it was with the same system, just have the Imperium keyword and all good
Ah
you'd get the basic faction rules but no access to stratagems and like that
iirc
it's been a while
wait no, the sub faction thing might've been slightly different
it was brief
I think so
You basically ran 2 of the same army
So you didn’t lose your special rules
Tbh only like, 3 factions actually got value of it
think that worked for like a half a year until it was abused in tournaments and they changed it not to include any faction rules
Yeah
I think it was sisters, guard, and nids that really liked it. I think space marines couldn’t use it for some reason
you'd have detachment if Iron Hand dreads with something like shooty Fists or Ultras which just ruined the opposing faction
Oh lmao
Oh yeha it was the non codex complaint marines m that couldn’t use it
think so, couldn't have Wolves and Blood Angels iirc
Ye
If seer psyker was a dnd character what class would he be? The obvious answer is warlock but idk
Great old ones pact warlock
Warlocks don’t get to cast too many spells though
Not sure what kinds of spells he’d even use
Psyker mechanically work best as Wild Magic Sorcerer
But Warlock Pact of Fey if we want to compare to the others
So I learned that apparently Slaneesh wanted the Kahn as their primarch to corrupt so that begs the question
Who did the other three gods want
Yeah mechanics wise for sure, but then I can’t do the beloved bit
Khorne wanted Sanguinus
Apparently Nurgle wanted the Iron Warrior
Like as in the archfey?
Ye
why dont ogres in 40k eat people in battle like they did in the original wharhammer, when everybody is just going to end up eating corpsestarch anyway?
They are not the same faction.
Ogryn are just mutated subspecies of humans who are big and strong. Ogres in WHF are a completely different race entirely.
ik

but if they are all going to eat people anyways along with the humans why dont they do it in battle too
isnt corpsestarch people
Yeah but you are assuming its a widely used food source
its not lol
Most imperials just eat other lame stuff like rations or gruel-slop
Also like you eat burgers, but how regularly do you walk into a field and bite a cow?
^
This.
Corpsestarch is regulated to usually planets where they literally cannot keep up food production.
because im not an ogre
an ogre would
An Ogryn isn't an Ogre either
Cool, an ogryn wouldn't
ogryns don't believe in the great maw, but in the emperor, so no need for them to eat things and especially corpses raw
Yeah and the Great Maw is also not a thing in 40k
Great Maw to me is the Power Spot for the Wind of Beast
Like how the Fire Maw seem to be one for Aqshy, and the Galleon's Graveyard is one for the Death one
Besides, eating is a holy act to the ogres and cannibalism is very common
Ogre mercenaries are likely to eat any human employer over a pay dispute, but ogryns are loyal and nice boys
mostly loyal and nice anyway lol
Loyal to the wrong people sadly
They've got lovely singing voices though
Excited to get the big maneater himself though soon in total warhammer
Apparently young ogryn kids have the size similar to a human adult, so ogryns can be protective of them on a basal level. Also corpse starch doesnt look like people lmao
Corpse starch also isn’t a common practice for most worlds.
oh?
being given a bar of corpse starch that's coincidentally shaped like an adult male
Oh god
Soilent green but everyone is too desensitized to give a damn
special edition kill team set is still not out of stock online
if that doesn't say a lot about the price
It has been a really long time since I’ve played vermintide I’ll admit
But aren’t ragers, maulers and crushers reskins from the northlanders?
the price actually isn't half bad for two Heroes sets
If I already didn't have the DG set I would probably get the starter set just for them
They mean Hivestorm
Not really? Aside from "they use two handed/double weapons".
Its mostly following a formula for elite melee enemies
Would most chaos corrupted ogryns be corrupted because their comrades were, or told them to be? Or do ogryns usually have a more selfish reason for turning traitor like most anyone else?
It depends.
They can be tricked just as much as be preyed on their impulses by chaos like it does to regular humans.
Like the moebian ogryns in game very much are self-aware AND call us loyalists as they attack/taunt us, so they for example are all in on it.
Their naivety tends to make them easier targets for it, but as said, and they fall can vary a lot
Same way other cults do
4 armed emperor spread through mining laborers, hive cult spread through the military, twisted helix is medicine lacing, pauper princes hide among salt shipments, the list goes on
welp time to watch guides on being a space pirate
The point is they use subterfuge and whatever they can to spread their cult, often using their official activities as a cover.
true, pirates do use false flag s
So just do space pirates who do the same, traveling around to seed the cult
The pirate angle being a cover
I like the idea a lot though
i think the part of my cult i dont like right now is the barely touched upon religious aspect
genestealer cult using the mask of being pirates using the mask of civilian ships lmao
i guess you would hide a genestealer with a stolen shipment of goods lmao
welp third draft time
i think im sutck on the cult part
?
yeha?
e copies of books are easy to get
aduio versions are alot hearder
well not alot but
it might not be as avaliable
this server isnt owned by GW its owned by fat shark

yeah
anyway what book do you need?
i can check my usual suspects
can you give me a starting point?
are you a resident of ohio?
the library of ohio has it in lend
they give you access to the ebook for like a week
and then take it away
its wierd
im tyring to find the pdf
but also th ebook isnt great so tehre isnt as many pdfs it seems
It still technically against the rules to ask or talk about or link to such websites
Oh whoops
Yea rule 8, I know lore chat is lax but best to be careful
I forgot we talked about it here multiple times I didn’t even realize
Crying in the club
DELETE EVERYTHING
BURN IT ALL
PURGE THE HERETIC
You dun goofed
I can't wait for the Rogue Trader Chaos DLC
Chaos DLC?
I figure it'll be made eventually yeah
Heretic is just super barebones so I'm hoping they make a DLC that expands ur options a bit
Ah. You had my hopes up for a minute there
Spoiler companion can't even change his fucking gear lol
I did stumble onto an interview where the creative lead really wants to write a corruption story for argenta
Neat
Hey chat any updates on siding with GSC in the new dlc?
You ||can exile them||, they want to kill you
Damn…
The options are to ||kill them all, use them as slave labor and sacrifice them to the chaos gods, or exile them||
I mean if you want to side with the GSC just kill yourself and all your companions and the NPCs you can kill

Ah
But ||yeah exile is the best they’re getting, but the cult lives on that way||
Is there at least yummy yummy xenos artifacts?
In Rogue Trader?
Yeah
Genestealer cult?
That is not a xenos artifact that is a pipe bomb
Awesome
New dlc
You do get pipe bombs
Bombs made from pipes
But you also get the fancier stuff
Do you get the funny insanity blood transfusion gun?
Sanctus rifle
Yeah the Sanctus rifle is the funny blood transfusion gun
The bullets are filled with blood of the patriarch
Sounds right
THE DREAM
Is there any new guys who aren’t on table top? Spoilers if its a boss or something
Aside from different loadouts and gear combinations no
But there’s a ||kellermorph|| with a shotgun
Also you do get to practice some level of diplomacy throughout the GSC stuff
It’s just at the very end
Damn
Sounds awesome
What’s like
The rewards for each ending btw?
Uhhh
Some resource stuff, profit factor gain/loss, alignment points
A bulk of the stuff comes from the like
Missions leading to the ending of the dlc
Oh also you get to fight a ||shard of|| the ||emperor|| but it’s not related to the gsc stuff
do we get anything by doing the wacky iron man mode competition
playing rogue trader on iron man mode sounds like actual torture
Achievement and a sense of pride and accomplishment
Abelard fight ||the god emperor of man kinds shattered psyche||
have they added more space battles with the dlc?
Is that a meme?
farming the torpedoes was a pain
I always give up because its a drag and go on with my run
You get to fight a shard of ||the emperor||
Oh yeah has ship battles improved? I wanna continue the game but I don’t wanna get stuck on something trash lol
Oh ok
I’m sure someone likes it but
It’s SOOOO BORING
But space combat has barely improved
It’s better balanced but like
It doesn’t change how it’s just unfun imo
ship combat is literally impossible on harder difficulties without following a very strict progression of battles
you cant upgrade your ship so you can only fight battles that are even possible to win
this game has its issues
difficulty progression being a big one
And I’m doing it on grimdark unfair so we’ll see how it goes 🙂
Hope I don’t get instantly killed for choosing the wrong fight
.....
Bored
Bro who is that guy
The God Emperor from the Dune books
Basically he became a gigantic fucking sandwirm
And similar to the Emperor of Mankind.
Had an overly convoluted and overly cruel plan to somehow ensure the survival of humanity also.
But unlike 40k, it actually worked
I see
Oh yeah also both had the ability to see into the future
But the Dune Emperor intentionally avoided looking into his death because he wanted it to be a surprise
He didn't want to avoid it
The 40k Emps might've just been a dumbass
Basically
40k looked at dune
And stole so much of it's homework
