And also because Admech stole my entire fucking flow
Damn technophiliacs beating me to the Cowboy punch
When Miles Odison invites you to an Asgard party
so barely a change according to any georgian i've met from outside atlanta
atlantis my bad
ive been power farming too much fallout 76
ah hell nah they put atlanta in the pacific
Now idk what to make the other largest gang for the Iron Mavericks
The Warp Riders are mostly Librarians that formed their own gang
speaking of fallout i'm finishing a pip boy i'm making for my sister who got herded into fallout by the tv show (sigh)
fallout 4 pip boy sadly
Can’t believe a man with no nose and decaying skin is seen as hotter than me
College WiFi lagging but
Don’t go too complicated or you could get annoyed with it
‘All my bikers look different because of z’
i didn't have a knob so i used one i salvaged from a guitar
And there’s only two big gangs
those guitar knobs are very smooth
My god
Psykers are rare for a reason
the fuck you making a Pip Boy?
Each chapter has like, what 20 max?
yes for my sister
Ok fine, it’s lead by a Librarian
a pip boy from fallout 4 because she's suddenly a fan after watching the show
Not counting grey knights and exorcists
Bruh
Ohhh nice
But I’m just saying, you don’t want to make your chapter all special snow flakes
Can a Psyker influence other people and improve things about them physically?
this model is crazy btw it's supposed to have a whole rasperry pi in it that can give you GPS location
Yup!
If they have biomancy yes
Biomancy baby
Alright so I have an idea
i'm just using the casing but i might do the eletronics one day
The gangs are mostly generic Iron Mavericks but the gang leaders are special
and there’s only like 2-3 gangs large enough to be recognized
Boom
Only 3 special characters of note
Yoi could do a gang each company
And yes I intend to make a joke via the Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Oh okay
famous last words
100 per company
If each gang is completely self sufficient with their own tactics they could split up and do cowboy stuff more effectively
And work together better
Misread how many Iron Hands there are on the lexicanum
That’s 1 company lol
Is there a reason they don’t restock
Too spread out
Can’t make em in a big ole factory
New ones can be made, but not in bulk like actual chapters
In fact, that’s going to be the main driving force behind skirmishes between the gangs
Control over the resources and tech to produce new ones
Boom
I faked it till I made it
Ok I need to shut my trap until I know for sure how this will all work
But does that idea work?
don't
Yeah cause I don’t wanna make the new “next big chapter”
I love smaller contained stories
things that can happen in a universe and be impacted by things but don’t impact the universe itself on a grander scale
Honestly 40k has no sense of scale
One thing I really want to emphasize in this is the relationship between the sub chapter and Admech
You can do what ever just don’t involve named characters
Have them work much closer together than they usually would
They just casually introduce an artifact that can wipe out the entire tyranid threat
And they accidentally broke it
Because it was ork tech
And they sent space marines to use it
Yeah that is a dumb plot
Necrons have like
1000 insta win buttons
Shout out to the necron cosmic boof that one taps planets
here's a tip for making your own warhammer things make them not too big, if you plan to make them too big please and i mean please do not include them to the main plot like meeting named character
They can be involved in named wars
the main plot I want to do for this is the gangs all want to grow their ranks and actually form an honest beginning of a sub chapter, but there isn’t enough resources in the fringe planets they’re located on for them all to do it. So they have to fight each other over control of the limited resources
yes
there comes a point where a faction is so overpowered that they dont matter anymore since all the cool gadgets are literally never used
Also its successor chapter not sub chapter
like stop hyping up the 50th galaxy ending device
Successor, got it
At most, the Iron Mavericks would act as mercenaries to be hired to fight in wars, never be the fore front heavy hitters
B-b-b-but necrons stopped time in this corner of the galaxy!!!
Meh, why would the imperium bother having a chapter around that doenst help them
Space sharks are on self inflicted outcast status
Lamenters are on penance crusade
that's the thing about chapters, the imperium doesnt get to choose if they're useful
I see it as the “they’re so far from the actual action everyone forgets they exist” kinda trope
Yeha but taking payment from not the imperium on the daily basis isn’t great
Ok yeah so maybe not mercenaries
But if wars show up near them they join in on the Imperium side to help out
Does that work?
carcarodons never get supplies because they're always on the outskirts of imperium
sounds like your guys
And they just steal from imperial planets but we ignore that
black templars do the same let's be honest
Fucking iron hands do the same
you gotta pillage at some point
Civilians = cash money!
You can be a tyrant, you can be a bastard
You just have to be loyal
we call it involuntary charity
Not siding with the imperium in a fight is fine unless they specifically ask you to
Then not answering the call is like, a terrible terrible idea
Before I go off the rails I need to collect my thoughts:
successor chapter of Iron Hands
Located on a section of fringe planets in the empire or just one
Heavily involved with Admech and work much closer with them than usual
Take on a cowboy aesthetic, ditching a lot of the outer plating and helmets for heavy leather coats, hoods and hats styled in the Admech style
Bionically enhance themselves for better perception and faster hand reflexes (aka yee haw QuickDraw)
Do not have companies, split between 3 major gangs fighting for control over the bare resources to make more of them
origin story of like half the big guard regiments and why they hate themselves
Sounds good, just why do they exist is the thing
you know what's the cool thing about iron hands? you dont even need to make a successor chapter to make a completely unique group
they're all very independent minded

“We can’t afford to send more people”
That part could be… there were major wars in that side of the galaxy, and many space marines decided to stay behind to act as a garrison against any invaders into the empire’s territory and had to start adapting to the land
Sounds good
you could say they were cut off during the istvan massacre
Boooo
Istvan mentioned
oh
Do I look like Rylanor to you
They are trying to enforce imperial law on the edges of the galaxy?
Aka stomp out cults
And invaders
Less that and moreso “Stay the fuck off my property”
When you’re that far from the heart of the empire its laws kinda get turned into suggestions
So they take up more of a.. what’s the term?
i'm making my own iron hand blackshield regiment who went crazy after istvan and returned to storm walkers with unpainted armour and volkite weaponry
Also your world and your people are most likely forgotten too.
Being on the fringe worlds suck a lot.
Also loads of space pirates and drug cartels on that side of the galaxy
Yep, that helps give the limited resources to make more space marines more credibility for a plot
And smugglers
Yea, and also untold horrors. Like a human imperial governor who is a literal vampire, except he has no sunlight weakness and can turn into a giant bat too while mind controlling people. Which the Inquisition should check on.
Nothing a well placed barrage of stun cannon fire can’t resolve
Also yes their main guns are stub cannons because fuck you yee haw up in this bith
Not gonna lie. If they add some more time paradox thing, besides those side stories and the chronos ordo disappearing and reappearing. Like having Malacdaor accidentally sent into the future. That would be suck a lot for him.
Not gonna lie. I'm not surprised they haven't tried making a Space Marine chapter. But instead of the Primarchs or Emperor as the genetic material override. The geneseed is from a one of the Custodes.
Ermmm Xenos, you can’t set foot on this planet because it holds Historical significance to the Imperium and its denizens. We’ll have to force you off our home. - How I imagine a Historitor marine to sound
In truth they’d probably be like that one geek in the Simpsons
I thought it was gonna be that fat guy from the comicbook store.
“Smoke from my guns will damage the books xenos”
My book is dusty and dry, your blood will satiate it
Maybe they have an irrational hatred for necrons? Since some necron keeps stealing shit from their home world
Probably Trazyn
Leading to their families getting punished for it
I bet he’s stolen the same book 10 times
Yes
“This is the last known fossils of the Terran dinosaur-“

So the Flayer Virus is a mental disorder right or I'm I getting it wrong?
I like how your successor chapter is “We must protect and ensure the documentation of the history of man and our empire”
While mine is just “Yeehaw chucklefucks, welcome to the shitass Wild West where nothing we do matters”
It’s a computer virus / disease that causes insanity tldr
Flayed Ones are horrifying ngl
Imagine a neurological disease for robots
Seeing a robot skeleton pull up on you with green tech magic is bad enough
Then they start going on about how you’re wearing their flesh and they want it back?
That’s a no from me
They try to eat it too lol
Gluttons
I still need to think up what the other 2 gangs should be
I’m imagining one led by an Admech
Vehicles, stealth, and melee?
The holy trinity
Vehicles? Mf they ride on robot horses
Imagine a pair of living necrontyr are in stasis. That somehow avoided biotransferance for over 65 million years. Do you think Trazyn would want them for his museum or help find a way with The Silent King to restore their people's fleshy mortal bodies? Because there is hope, a meagre chance of hope for them.

Admech for vehicles, psykers for stealth
Depends on whether Trazyn feels like doing a little trolling for the day
I don’t doubt trayzn has some necrontyr dna sitting around
Trazyn would prolly troll.
Anyone else might actually study them for a chance to return to an organic body.
All I know about Trazyn is he’s a Kleptomanical trickster
Inb4 Tzeentch made a deal with Trazyn
But also dna dies after like, 1k years
Knowing Trazyn he’d find a way to trap Tzeentch in his museum
Get a big ole bird cage
He has a few demons already
Not in stasis. Fucking Gulliman was for over 10k years.
Y'know it wouldn't actually be far-fetched for Traz to actually have a shard of Tzeentch lying around smwhere
Yeha but that was magic that revived him
Is Ku’Gath still in a cocoon or a jar somewhere?
Trazyn could totally steal that
The 2 necrontyr, besides dying from their super cancer, couldn’t reproduce or anything
Traz is secretly just a self insert for all the plastic crack hoarders out there
He’s the final boss of Kleptomaniacs
I don't think Necrons can enter the Warp. Plus Trazyn would probably catch that rusting metal disease nurgle made too.
Imma be real, I don’t think the writers do either
In void scarred audio drama necrons die going it into the warp
Meanwhile Corvus is having a fucking ball in there
But also they went into the warp in the first war of heaven
Also necrons are immune to warp storms apparently
Yea and a Space Marine sucked a Transcendant C'tan Shard into the Warp by a Gernade that turns into a blackhole that sucks everything into Hell. That was fun.
Fuck it, a gang lead by the Bonnie and Clyde of 40k who are an Iron Maverick and Admech couple
Would the Mechanicus go to war with the Squats to get their technology or just wipe them out, because of AI they have?
That’s one of the main lore set ups
That I doubt they will ever follow up on
Considering Admech use lever action rifles and revolvers now for some reason
I don’t know
Radium rifles and pistols
They shoot cancer
I WAS GONNA SEND THAT
Oh that’s mini rail guns last time I checked
So are the Deathkorps of Krieg really clones?
Or do they just reproduce a lot in their hell radiated homeworld?
Yep, and they think their very existence is an affront to the Emperor
So they go into war to die to be forgiven
They are vat grown
Basically same thing
Except it’s not the same person
Not gonna lie. I wanna see an Ork with two heads.
One that is brutality cunning and the other one cunningly brutal.
And they argue with each other to see who has the better plan.
Not Orky enough.
I always thought that brutally cunning basically means like
Creating a torture device. Or war machines/traps. Intelligent ways to brutalize your foes
While cunningly brutal is like in the heat of the moment.
Like striking at the right moment in a duel.
Or blinding an opponent with your blood before finishing them off
That kind of shit
...
Why is my skin turning green?
the two are very simple
Gork will punch you in the head and you will see it coming because that how simple he is
and Mork will open up with a crotch shot and then crack your head with a stick
Cunningly brutal

that's mork
The one I heard was
Gork will punch you if you look at him
Mork will punch you if you look away from him
yes
that's it
Inside you are two Orks
One makes you punch people who look at you
The other makes you punch people when they look away
You love punching people
Get help
The only person Orks didn't want to fight anymore was Jagathai Khan. Because he just slaughtered them like nothing by himself.
He was in a ultra-instinct sword stance.
And he didn’t even blast Wolf Totem
No
Krumping gitz is fun
Do Librarians use the eye iconography at all?
generally no, they've got their own iconography
Question how bad or good is it if the Imperium of Man founded a ancient entity that can produce life and acts like a nurturer for planet she is on. And she has survived mass extinctions, but as a result is preserved in volcanic ash. And they decided to operate on the entity to collect samples, even though she is still alive technically.
I find his voice in DoW 1 to be the most smooth
They'd pretty much either kill it or rip it apart for parts.
there'd probably be a mini-war on the place its found over what to do with it
ah yes the Favored diplomacy way of warhammer, war
Was reading through Honourbound and they started talking about the legend of “Morrow” and I pogged

Unfortunately it was a different Morrow
LMFAO
i prefer hammer diplomacy myself
Yo a Tau Novel
huge
Maybe with new Xenos Books coming out we will get one for eldar again
i'm kidding that's never gonna happen again
it's for the new novel that features both the Genestealers and Raptor Marines
so this is gonna be probably guerrilla warfare galore
and also tau
@rose thorn the tau novel is being made by the same guy who made this how consistent is his track record if you read this
God hope it’s a different VA
The VA is genuine terrible
Good book tho
About the nature of destiny and hope
okay the author seems to be good
might have to pick that up later
He did Godeaters son too right?
yes
I remember hearing it’s pretty good
That is an amazing book
He writes alot of book about destiny
Considering he is writing a tau book I imagine that theme would continue
lot of Good things huh
Yeha but also it’s a 40k xenos book
Good Point
Be wary what you wish for 👀
Eldar book comes out, its about them dying to ultramarines
Story of xenos fans.
Kinda weird it would be about a video game but that’s a cool tie in.
IWGEJWBRKAM
The best xenos book I read ends with most of the characters dying lmao
It’s our path
Characters dying?
That’s most 40k books in general tbf
at the end of a 40k book?
Yeah like at some points it doesnt even become a spoiler anymore
its funny
Best you can hope for is they survive a trilogy
Or my favorite
"Oh we gotta go find this mcguffin"
Oh jeez
i wonder whats gonna happen?
Oh yeah it gets destroyed at the end
womp womp
That’s silly
Obviously it’s actually really bad and evil
Part of why I largely like crime, and other series where there isn’t some huge stakes. I get why they do it but it can’t pay off and I know that, so just don’t do it.
Or make it like, “this macguffin will help us win this war on this specific planet which exists for this book.”
Not “this MacGuffin will make everyone into space marines and give us all volkite and psyker powers that are safe and also unlimited Klondike bars.”
Yeah its genuinely peak writing for Crime all memes aside, its what makes me appreciate it.
Like the mcguffin thing is so bad because SO MANY books do it
Im betting its at least 50+ or even more
Or you know just, fucking play the macguffin straight
Yeah this too
Just fuck off with the "oh we gotta destroy it" shit
its what made me be done with the Coteaz book
Soulglass this, soulglass that, wah wah i dont wanna get old until he just smashes it because heresy. Fuck off.
Although tbh none of this matters if it’s well written and I like the book.
It’s only when books aren’t well written that I care.
Yeah i think its bad WHEN the entire story is focused around the mcguffin like with the Daemonhammer one.
If its like a literal plot-device and nothing more then id be fine with it.
but when you build it up JUST to smash it then yeah okay
I really wish more authors did books like Brothers of the Snake, just a bunch of shorter stories or vignettes following whatever faction you’re doing which loops around to a core story but isn’t high stakes
I don’t care about some planet being destroyed or whatever, just tell me more about the dudes.
Yep always the same shit.
Its even more annoying when im reading a book advertising what you just said subject wise, then 5 chapters in they make another mcguffin gamble and im just-
LoV lol
The monkey finger curls
I swear to god if it's chaos marines i will eat metal
“A THIRD chaos space marine killteam!”
More
I wish I could read crime more, I only got to read baggit and clodde which on one hand is amazing, but on the other hand, I WANT MORE
I’ve found that I’m reading more now that I’ve got a job which is weird because I’ve less time to read
You know what’s weird, ppl will hype up characters with powers in manga but then shit on characters with powers from not manga that have like, same powers? It’s weird
Maybe it’s just a like, Japanese content thing
Like why did Deadpool have to get a power from chainsaw man, like it’s a direct reference
Pretty sure there’s at least 15 guys in marvel that can summon giant ghost animals
The main example that bugs me is some guy from the jjk manga that has gambling powers
Ngl
I was thinking of making a rival chaos successor chapter for my Iron Hand cowboys
Valid
And have them themed around Dia De Los Muertos and Aztec culture
with Calavera designed helmets
What’s your nationality?
US
Oh okay
I just love history and culture
All really cool stuff
Actually
How many lightning/thunder themed weapons are there?
That Space Marines use?
Please god no not another
Prolly because third wall break ig
Go to space marine armory lexicon and ctrl f thunder
Do power weapons count?
Yeah but it’s like, a permanent edition now, it re appears multiple times
I guess? Lighting claws are just power claws
Probably
Jeez they have a lot of rocket and missile launchers lmao

Guess my idea would have to be a melee heavy successor chapter but they use Storm Bolters for ranged
I wanna keep the Aztec theme but maybe ditch the day of the dead vibe
Cause my favorite Aztec god is Tlaloc
A storm god
That or go with something that may actually fit it better
Yeah actually this one may be a better idea
Scrap the Aztec, replace it with Yoruban
My even more favorite storm god (even though Orishas aren’t actually gods) Shango
A Salamander successor chapter
Storm/power melee weapons with flamer and melta guns
Prob Salamander cause they do fire stuff already
Cause Shango is regarded as a Storm deity and also sometimes Fire
Like can breathe fire and everything
Oh then salamanders for sure
If you’re wondering what Shango looks like, here’s an artistic depiction of him
Yeah, he’s kinda cool
Might name the Successor Chapter the “Infernal Maelstroms”
And unlike the Salamanders
They’re gonna be big pieces of shit
War loving conquerors that purge Xenos in a barrage of storm and flame for the sheer glee of it
Hate that I thought this was ai art at first
It’s too good looking to be AI
Now my only problem is the colors of Shango are white and red

Then again the Black Templars are
Well
Black
White scars
I was going to say something racist
But it might work
Keep like salamanders heraldry
Or add like fire details to the feet
And lightning decals to the shoulders
I’ll keep the green, but have one side have red detailings and symbols, the other be white
Red for flames and white for lightning
Oh true you can do the half split
Would work for the weapons too
A power axe in one hand
A hand flamer in the other
And maybe have my own dumbass twist where they have a special respirator attached to their helmet that allows them to breathe fire

a La Rammstein
Its a mutation to their acid spit gland thing
Space marines can in general
Yeah its almost never mentioned
Rammstein is a hilarious band tho
All the fire is because their lead singer used to work in pyrotechnics
Salamander librarians do “breathe” fire as a power
I havent listened to rammstein in a hot minute
We’re all living in Amerika
Coca Cola, sometimes war
Yeah but I bet it’s that goofy ahh ahh soul fire
and not actual fire breath
It looks like fire
like idiots
Chapters generally have powers which fit the theme, Iron Hands have one which flenses all non bionic targets, and a lot of stuff involving vehicles and increasing squad toughness.
Oh hang on, new idea for the successor name “The Storm Dragons”
Raven guard cover the area in shadows and attack with swarms of ravens
The irony though
Raven Guard, their primarch is named Corvus

Its about as expected lol
Tbh as much as people clown on the root names meaning
They largely work as names still I think
Especially with the theming
Like people clown on Ferrus Manus when he was literally called Iron Hands by the people of Medusa.
Because you know it was a notable trait of his
Sometimes pun names are the best ones
Helps you get the gist of who it is
And what they do
Then you have Robot Gorrila man
Rowboat Ghillie Suit
Wrong Booty Girly Man
Most of them are pretty bad yeah.
its very much "we came up with these in a pub"
they are comicshit, it mostly works lol
They’re definitely memorable which is arguably most of the battle
Then we got one where I bet the discussion was like “Ok this guy is the destined child to lead the empire after his father. Fuck it, Horus, were done here”
It is funny that Roboute Guilliman has arguably the hardest one to remember and say though
For me it’s probably Corvus Corax cause I keep forgetting the Raven Guard exist
There’s eighteen dudes and eighteen legions some are gonna get less focus
Like the Night Lords
Night Lords got far more focus than a lot of other legions
Way more than they deserve for their impact arguably.
The night lord trilogy is kind of based
It’s very enjoyable
Lord of Night is also pretty fun
And they get some good heresy stuff
Black Legion doesn’t count
They’re the cannon fodder for when you need chaos enemies
Their cool factor died with Horus
Horus was the worst part of them
And now they have nothing, nothing sick nor egregious
He unfortunately doesn’t get to do a lot in the heresy
They have plenty
You just need to read
They’ve got multiple character besides, show up in multiple campaign books which flesh them out, lots of engagements. Arguably they got too much going on.
Theyre the ultramarines of chaos
Nah not that much going
they are very generic even when you put em under a microscope
they are fine for what they are but they are basically one-not villains
minus like um
"I always wanted ta be a hero"
skins child
They got way more going on
They have dudes from every legion, lots of unique little characters in different books and campaigns
They’re made so you can add anyone to them, they’re the generic option but they still have a lot going on.
Oh wait you are talking about black legion?
motherfucker im talking about night lords
Pandorax, Fall of Cadia, Black Legion books, multiple campaigns

I got soup to sip on the side
Smh
no time for it homeo
But yes Night Lords are fairly one note
LMAO
They got some good stuff and their niche
yeah there it is thank you
Odd question, but why did the T'au main colour go from yellow/tan/cream to white?
It’s both
I like first claw and their steal everything not nailed down mentality
Different groups
Im at the part where they cuck huron
The main one was changed to Vior'la because they look better on boxes
But yeah how does the Infernal StormDrakes sound for a successor Chapter for Salamanders? Too wordy?
Tan isnt a great popping color for box covers
They just switched to the Vior’la sept because a majority of the main characters are from Vior’la
And also white pops way more
Like dilara said
darn 😔
GW would find a lore reason as to why they didnt attend their father's funeral.
But yeah there’s no major Tau sept characters

Fun fact
That’s horrifying to think about
As Elite said, it pops more on boxes
The only Tau character I know is Farsyte
All the major T’au sept characters

Are codex only
Or background
Literally EVERYONE ELSE IS VIOR’LA
This happened before the scheme change as well
Farsight Vior’la, shadow sun, Vior’la, Aun’va Vior’la
Oh wait there’s one tau sept dude
With a mini
isnt he from like 1942
Oh yeah his updated mini
So yeah we have a single tau sept character

I do wonder why GW didn’t make them all Tau sept
Like even way back then
Is that
thats a servitor
Nice

Imagine getting turned into a servitor just to be the Roomba for an Admech
honestly my favorite thing to do is when people ask how smart servoskulls are
and i get to post roomba gifs
since its literally about as far as their intelligence goes
lol
Doorknob level intellect
Servo skulls aren’t servitors though, they’re just skulls with a cogitator and mechanical stuff inside
Some a little quirkier than others
What dat mouth do
What did I do
how dare you
remember all the sick tau boxes in the early 2000s
They were fun but alas I dont speak Corporatese
they demanded White is the dominant Color

mfw people share a reasonable and different opinion than me
We’re discussing getting oral from servo skulls
sounds like i missed peak
Servoral Skulls if you will
Remember, inquisitor eisenhorn uses the R word so you can too
Becoming an inquisitor to get access to the Sacred Book of Slurs
mfw i just wanted to say that i was late in french
Compiled from ages past
They do it more in more recent books
I do like the sci fi swearing though, it does feel like planets would have their own swearing
Yeah basically almost any word that isnt "fuck" is allowed.
its due to UK literature censorship laws iirc, its very strict
anyway so about this flaying mutilation passage-
LOL
My favorite moment is actually pretty clever, when the one Inquisitor lady is trying to seduce Gaunt so she goes into his mind and tries to associate “Feth” in his head with fuck but Feth doesn’t mean fuck, it’s a name for a Tanith god so it makes him snap out of it.
Because she uses the incorrect grammar and root of the word lol
I enjoy scifi swearing but just for once I want someone to say fuck
if Eisenhorn can say ret@rd, then let someone say fuck damn it
The tithes warhammer+
They say fuck several times
Guess fuck is the canonical swear word on Cadia
Yes
"oi you need a licence for that swear word"
literal hellhole of a country
hope it sinks into the ocean
I'm teaching right now should I play this on full volume
I like the helmets in 3d like this ngl
You will have your cadians and you will enjoy them
Attilan Rough Riders do not get enough love
They just got minis
They’re good though smh
The most common conversion for Rough Riders is to just put Cadian heads on them
I think I finally found a good name for my Salamander successor chapter
Thunder Wyrms

Call them the..thunder warriors
So whats the deal with the IA exaction squads and executioner shotguns
Is there anything specific to their shotguns or is it just the hype behind arbites and shotguns
Think Dark Heresy first fleshed out the Arbites shotgun as the Vox Legi-pattern arbites combat shotgun and if I remember statwise it's a beast, basically it's a shotgun that's incredibly complex to produce and super overdesigned but the end result is a super sturdy and reliable shotgun (It also counts as a melee weapon)
Also Executioner shells
Which are shotgun shells which can lock on and track targets
There's also a lore bit about how it specifically has a pump action function as an intimidation tactic
So when the Arbites face a potential Riot they can stand in front of the rioters and pump their shotguns in unison to cause them to disperse
Oh thats sick
Them having shotties was understandable, just thought it was weird they have a model that has a shotgun for sniping
Yea think the Sniper bit is the Executioner Shells
Not sure it might be a thing in lore, but in Dark Heresy they could single fire or burst fire with two shots, but not full auto
Wait I’m messing it up with marine shotguns
Which have a pump function but are also automatic
Hm im tempted to get the ia combat patrol, just for painting. Last time i went to a gw store someone bullied me into getting csm because ia is apparently not good atm
Or just the blooded so i can swap out my cultist models and pretend theyre traitor guardsmen
Why is the majority of the zealot armor look the way it does? Someone mentioned to me it was fashioned after the death cult?
Because its just how zealots wear stuff in 40k
Robes, flowing garments, haphazard armor, leather masks, etc
Just remembered the Elysian plasma gun, what is this
Religious fanatics in 40k tend to dress that way
I mean to be fair religious fanatics in 40k come different shapes and sizes
From straight up knights to god damn leather wearing battle hungry maniacs
Look up their entire arsenal on google
all of them have carry handles lmfao
I know! I saw the model version of the plasma gun and his hand is like right on the coils with the handle
If he isn't careful his hand is done for
bro is LEAKING
That can’t be an official Noel
Model
These are from the Elysian drop troop FW range I think during the imperial armor book for the Tauros campaign so they released like the resin Death korps kits but for elysians
its from FW, Its def official
this is awesome
Hate seeing the old FW guard models
I get a sense of longing
I miss the old website
Why does it look so weird
Do yall think forerunners from halo would survive or thrive in 40k?
Or just get exterminated
I honestly forget how powerful forerunners are and what they do
usually people ask about master chief in 40k
he would do.... fine
don't know what he'd want to do though in such a shitty universe
Depends on how and who they fight
Now Doomslayer
I pity the warp
They had the power to create and move planets
Sounds like Necrons
Basically immortal suits
that keep them alive for years on end
And weapons that killed gods
of halo essentially
Only reason they lost against flood
is because syndicate b decided to betray them
due to a gravemind being convincing
I’ve been looking over my attempt at a Salamanders successor chapter
even then they made a weapon fire that wiped out all life in one galaxy
So anti terminid
And now I’m wondering if I should ditch the thunder part and fully embrace the draconic element of it
mendicate bias
Mendicate bias?
Mendicate got a virus that made him swap teams
essentially
the most advance AI in the verse
thats the only reason forerunners lost
Oh you’re still talking about Halo
Thought it was a 40k thing
Now I need a new name for this successor chapter
joy toy primarchs look cool as hell
Found a new name and this has shaped the successor chapter in a whole new direction
The World Serpents
So you know how the Salamanders are like one of the few legions to actually not treat humans like shit?
Not these guys
They won’t go out of their way to be colossal jerks to humans
It if there’s a Xeno nearby? Chances are they won’t think twice about the human
brother
its nearly midnight
get some sleep
Nah
Too busy writing
You know
I write a whole lot
Makes me wonder why I’m majoring in IS

crazy flex but ok
making money and having a hobby vs monetizing what you enjoy and desperately looking for a job
i love modelling but no way in hell would i switch my career path to it
Yeah but I’m planning to go into game development

Is there any lore to soul fire? Or is it just fire produced by a psyker?
There is Pyromancy discipline, but if you mean the thing that happen to enemies via the tree.
Then i think it's just interpretation of Souls burning like candles in the Warp
This game kinda low-key showed that space marines are overhyped
you just solo chaos space marines and even a lord of change
a shame the game is bad though
Average warhammer game protagonist soloing gods for fun
also the player character plays a fresh-faced tau recruit
so either hes a fucking god
or anime protag
Well he is sort of being cheered on by Khorne. That's sort of like an anime protag, right?
According to the tie in books
The recruit basically got buffed by Khorne
And throughout the entirety
The recruit is very confused
And his comrades around him are fucking terrified of him
Because in their point of view he is a reckless, overly skilled mad man
I think it ends with him in an insane asylum
The chaotic shit and things he's been through taking a toll on him
Although being in an insane asylum is better than
A lot of fates in 40k let's be fair here
He actually has a chance to live a decent life
Thing is, there is zero chance that asylum can actually stop him if he decides that Khorne had a point.
Shas'la Kais Gargaz Teefgrabba Malum Caedo, the Warhammer Protagonists of game Bullshitery
Like these three single handedly slaughtered multiple enemies way out of their weight class through sheer firepower and movement
singlehandedly used bad writing to take a titan down with a handheld weapon
Wait it’s a game? I only read the books
ps2 game iirc
I've never heard someone know the book but not know the game
Also wait, is there more than one?
I’m a xenos fan so I have to really dig for book content
fair, but you'd think you'd first find out about the game before the book
that's like knowing Dawn of War as books before finding out they're based on the games
hmm
yeah seems to be the case
which would be very weird because you would expect him to be just around
"any word on where Brunt is at?"
"Not anything, he could be dead for all I know"
He's probably on the field
After all his job is selling weapons so he's probably securing some
Look at these disgusting Plaguebearers
Is the white one Gor-Rok ? As Itzl is part of where he is from iirc
Or Itza is pledged to Itzl
nope just a Sunblood
Similar scar placement, and weapons too...
he's used for what a Sunblood is, that one is Sunblood Kro-Jax
yes it's one of those cases where they turn the character into a generic leader or unit
That I understand, but why have a new model still follow that look, at least for the scars
They are like super saurus and they're basically treated as demigods and are ancient warriors but they can also appear as the good old blue
White seems to be just like a coloration to indicate what they are though
But why the scar
That's what I'm bugging on
because it's cool i guess
Do Chapter Masters have their own guards? And are the pretty strong? For reference, in Space Marine 2 Lord Calgar drops out of the thunderhawk with two bulwarks on his left and right at all times.
Honour Guards
Not sure for Chapters
But back then each Legion had their own honor guard yes
All 18 of em
The Victrix Guards are one such honour guard regiment for the Ultramarines
Btw I called it being nurgle uwu
an order equivalent for these guys you think?
3 characters all seem to be Elite fighters
They have a totem, which usually means they have gimmick tied to it
But also idk how this edition plays yet
Hmm i see
Do they go hard?
Ooo ya better believe they do comrade
Every Legion's honour guard are certified to go 120% hard
You gotta be a serious sumbitch to go that hard.
Take a guess who commands the Victrix Guard
Is it him?
I hope he gets a model
What would you guys think of if GW decided to add a Morghur-esque of character to Tyranids in the form of a notable GSC Primus/Magus that keeps coming back, whether its due to successful absorption of worlds or by death and their conscienceness returns to the Hivemind in time or some shit?
Do you think that would give Tyranids as a whole more character or no?
GSC yes
Tyranids?
Eh
Tyranids are made in a way that they are quite literally just evolving psychic dinosaurs that eat people
if you're going to give tyranid's characteristics it's going to the hive mind
I think the best way to move the GSC into an actual faction with lore weight and consequences is to go mass-effect with them
Explain that point
Make the cults slowly realize what the hive fleets are up to. And try to mind-seize them over
In the ending of mass effect 3. One ending is having the main character take over all the giant killer squids eating the universe
My issue with this is that the Tyranids are supposed to be bugs that dont get emotional (except for that one time with Blood Angels but I kinda hate that moment tbh), but least with this theortical character, they're independent enough from the Hive to have emotions and thoughts of their own, but still be connected to the whole in terms of purpose
And then. The bigger threat of GSC. Is that unlike chaos that starts breaking tech with scrap-code and with chaos influence just ruining armies to infighting. GSC is a perfect bio-technical organism that just absorbs everything
Yeah that's not gonna work The Hivemind is connected to gene-stealer patriarchs 27
this thing constantly feeds them visions of having grander goals and stuff
Ymmgrls
Do something with the ymggrls
I honestly would maybe make a GSC army if I knew it could, lore wise have bigger ambitions than by luck never run into tyranids
Feels lame
Yes but the way the faction is structured making them a character is basically impossible to just making them super bugs an actual character that has motives reasons and reasons why he wanted to be a gene stealer isn't gonna be easy
Absolutely no characterization for the tyranids
The shit with the blood angels. Does suck
You could have patriachs that uh, go off script so to speak, since they're vanguard units that dont need the hive to be constantly connected to them. You could have one that thinks it could do better than what the Hivefleets are doing, so it pushes its followers to do its bidding selfishly.
The hive mind is hungry. It’s just hungry. It doesn’t hate. Hate takes away from hunger
Fair fair
Hate that shit
and what get obliterated and tortured by the hive mind?
the hive mind always knows
Yeah ymmgrls and those ymggrls want to take over hive fleets
Even the more independent strains quite literally return to them when the opportunity arises
That’s a selling story
Ymmgrls would work well in that case
Cold indifference
Also make custodes male only again. Ruins juxtaposition of male-to female with sisters of silence and super-elite to elite marines/sister of battle
Or. Give me a mister of silence!
Exactly
Completely unrelated but I’m trying to not so subtly partially co-opt the concept of flayed one’s into my fantasy setting and I’m not sure how to do that well without it being so blatant
Isn’t there like. Tomb kings
Yeah but I also can’t just use generic skeletons cause those don’t exist in this setting
I was thinking maybe I could do like some sort of animated humanoid stone constructs, but idk how I’d work that in
There are kinda poxwalker type creatures that are parasitized that I could maybe have a variant be flayed one esque, but that kinda doesn’t fit
I just really like their schtick
What is a storm raptor/storm serpent? The ships flying us and other things in and out of missions
Reminds me of a hind kind of
Yup
Hit it right on the head
I looked online and this is all that came up:
Yeah like what kind of ship is that
that's a fire raptor gunship
So whats a storm raptor
it's a valkyrie
i think it's talking about what she named her ship or it's code name
Like more chunky/blocky or maybe that was DLSS 😭
Weird code name for a ship but that makes sense
You know
I’m thinking and I’m kind of pissed off
….a universal mass conveyer. Can support up to 10 billion people on board
Not comfortably. Mind you
But like
If you just, squeeeeeeeeeze. You just fucking squeeeeeeeze them in. I’m sure there’s a mathematician. Who could like. Obviously no one’s taking a shower, people are going to get stuck in the guns and die horribly. The common cause of death is squishing. But 500k? 500k? What the fuck? That’s nothing. That isn’t even the armies of WW2
Escorts can support. They should, at least 10 million people
30k people on board? 50k? 20k? 10k? Unacceptable
What is the purpose of this? A colony ship?
Transporting people and things in general
Big if true
I mean
it very much looks legit
also lmao the burning CSM helmet, not primaris but sitll good
Watch it have an option for a primaris LT helmet because it’s a bit at this point
Lmao fair
Like the belakor reveal was funny as hell
They just showed the primaris LT on his base

yeah fair, I'll give this to him
Once in a blue moon he can be right
A broken clock is right twice a day
There is whole package and manual leaked. He waited 30 years for new model and he looks great.
How common are geneseed mutations in successor chapters?
and how extreme do they usually get?
You know it has gotten bad when the guy who speaks garbage speaks understandable garbage
Mutations happen occasionally
It depends
How likely can harder scale like skin and Betcher’s Gland releasing a flammable gas be?
The scale like skin might be very concerning
