So basically Harley and Joker's relationship either goes two ways
Either
A) Joker is the abuser
B) Harley is the abuser
But I think the only time where Joker and Harley genuinely like each other is the Lego Batman movie. It's also the only platonic Joker and Harley relationship
and honestly, I kinda wanna see a more serious interpretation of a Joker and Harley that genuinely love each other
If only because it would be a joy to see
Shower thought: I wish on lower levels, our characters in darktide had mental breakdown voicelines. Feels like they are a bit too badass for the situations they are put in.
Is this canon?
no
Its mostly because minus the zealots (who are just nuts) all of them are combat veterans to some point.
All the vets pretty much participated in some hellish conditions, Cadian goes without saying, Loose meanwhile has fought against Tau, CSM, Orks, etc.
All the Ogryns are also pretty hard-built, Bodyguard's intro alone has him saying he held a hill for days and all he got was a backhand for not doing it right. Brawler is just the classic "yes ill smash anything ya say sah" ogryn, and Bully is a complete unhinged maniac lol
Psykers are uhhh well one is already insane so Seer doesnt care, Loner has definitely seen some horrific shit, Savant uhhh pretty closed in and optimistic so they're prob the best candidate lol
Aw man
So I’m running into roadblocks with making an Admech class concept, idk what the three main archetypes should be

Space Wolf Dreadnoughts seems to be extra spicy in the Dreadnough category.
Its really not
its just a regular dreadnaught
one just has a fucking werewolf in it for no reason lol
Imagine being some random Tau that somehow beat it
You open the dreadnought to find a mutilated werewolf

Could I make the class Skitarii but then have each archetype be something like ElectroPriest, Explorator and Enginseer?
Honestly I thought of a similar class
But it's a Gun Servitor
Hadron was so tired of Ogyrns unable to follow orders properly that she sent in a gun servitor to help

I know for sure I want a Servo Skull blitz
Do Skitarii use Servo Skulls and Servitors?
Isn’t a servo skull just another Servitor?
Nah
Ladies and gentlemen I now have an imperial knight
Basically each servo skull contains the skull of someone who is honored
So that they can serve after death
Considering the amount of Psykers and Ogryns are running around
And how we survive BoN encounters
We can say the Skitarii uses a Servo Skull in a fight

Umteue
*True
We use Plasma Guns
Thammers
And Bolters
We basically got really good shit
Now what should the three main archetypes be?
I'd generally consider the Legiones Skitarius as a different organization than the priesthood itself.
Yeah that’s what I was assuming
This is not always the case. There are plenty of servo skulls made from common-folk.
Which now makes it harder to think up archetypes
Ranger, Sagitarii, and Protector
Basically Rangers in lore are meant to be Hunter Killers
What allows me to summon Gun Servitors and be a battle engineer
Sagitarii are Heavy Weapons
And Protectors are those that guard Tech Priests
Actually maybe combine Sagitarii and Protector together
To make a Tank build of sorts
A keystone that limits you to just a gun, but you can now wield heavy weapons
Awesome
Do Skitarii have Mechadendrites?
I don't think Protectors ever showed up outside of the Heresy books?
Literally everybody in the Mechanicus has mechandendrities
Yes
Use that to be able to use heavy weapons
Mechandendrites as a melee weapon would be cool in general
Yeah. I was also thinking about how it could have been cool to have a rookie voice for the vet. But then i guess it couldnt really work because it would have been strange to have a "rookie" acting like a rookie while killing hordes like a pro.
Some do, generally speaking rank and file ones don't always
One shows up in the new book
Honestly it would be funny to see
Oh, and then the whole class is called vet as well lol so that doesnt really work lol
They got that Canis Helix in them. Makes them extra spicy.
Basically imagine the Veteran screaming and crying like a oandy
The battle starts
"OH EMPEROR I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"
Sniper, CQB gun, melee better imo
Skitarii vanguards like to get up close and personal with their carbines
Y'all forgetting that any new class needs to fit a power fantasy that doesn't already exist with the existing classes
As long as I get to summon servitors and Servo Skulls
It's not just play dressup
Skitarii battle engineer
None of the classes want to run at people with a gun/j

Then wtf is my Zealot doing
Zealots do.
I was gonna say lol
/j for Jaghatai Khan
They have a talent that adds ranged damage the closer they are
Zealot moment
Ogyrn moment
Veteran with Command moment
Actually the only one that doesn't is the Psyker
Zealot and ogryn def don't mind being close
Vet imo why use a gun with command
just fucking shank them with the best melee in the game
Shovel
disagree - SG
So what could the archetypes be? Barring anything the other classes have
Oh yeah and also force swords
Is that part of priesthood?
Ooo
I guess a prerequisite to fight in the Imperium is to
The main power fantasy we're missing is a pet/minion controller.
Always be good at melee
"More Violent-er" Dreadnaughts are already a thing, its basically the same.
Yeah a Mechanicus person would fit
World Eaters dreadnought go brrrr
And that fits perfectly with Admech
Servitors and Servo Skulls aplenty
Also I think Mechandrites used as a melee would be funny
Imagine slapping people with Doc Ock arms

Darktide giving me more of a power fantasy than Space Marine 2 rn, these devs were cooking some Ratatouille shit
I had the idea of a combat ability that let you dual wield using one
yep. My suspicion is we're going to see admech with pets - either one giant pet (combat servitor like a kataphron), multiple smaller pets (servo skull swarm?), and then a support option
That reminds me of the animation with the boltpistol. In case some dont know, if you melee with the bolt pistol then shoot right after, you get an animation of jamming the boltpistol into the enemy and then pulling the trigger. Very cool animation.
lol
Jesus don't even get me started on SM2 and their pea shooter bolters
Well but lets be honest. Space Wolves are widely accepted to be the strongest Chapter (past, present, and future) of Space Marines to ever exist, by a wide margin. So it would make sense for their Dreadnaughts to be unmanageably vicious.
Servo Skull blitz, Gun-Servitor combat ability
Any form of battle servitor would be great
Based take.
Gun servitors are lamer then battle servitors
Homies thinking Titus was gonna be some badass when a single knife zealot would probably smoke him 💀
Give me one with a fucking heavy bolter and a power claw lol
"By the Omnissiah, do I have to do everything myself..?"
"Widely accepted" is plenty untrue, lots of people would argue against that
Anything bigger than an Oggy is a no go for maps
Gun servitors just have lame guns smh
dual wields bolters
My bolt pistol in Darktide has more oomph than the heavy bolter in SM2
The Omnissiah blesses you, it is my task to send you to him
They uhhh really aren't. They are considered good but thats kind of it, they are mostly social outcasts and just stick to their guns and do their own thing, calling them the strongest chapter ever is absolutely crazy.
Tbf in SM2 we are
Thunder hammer in Darktide can DELET better than the thunder hammer in SM2
that somehow die to a couple of hormagaunt
A class so TRASH they had to acknowledge it in a dev note
😭
So what all does the Tech Adept have access to?
errr, ish?
A couple of hormagaunts is easy pickings for an ogryn
Your bolter should one shot a gaunt the same way your bolter in darktide oneshots a group of unarmored dudes
To be honest it would be hard to make the Tyranids Lord Accurate
Because then it'd just be
Considering Leman Russ still lives and is WIDELY accepted to be the strongest Primarch (particularly in hand to hand combat), and infact will be the link that either A.) Brings the Emperor back to life or, B.) Assumes the throne himself. I think its VERY safe to say that SW's go hard in the paint.
Their problem was making the 'nids become bullet sponges
SM2 takes so many wrong lore liberties with Nids because otherwise Titus and his team would be dead 10 times over.
This
the fact that nids die when you kill synapse creatures is so fucking funny
Hot take that many are going to disagree with.
Somehow they take so many lore liberties with the gameplay but run into the lore lawyers at GW with.. cosmetics?!?!
That was weird to me
A lot of things lol
Since when did Lemann Russ become the chosen one?
Yeah don't they become feral instead?
Like they just attack randomly
The Emperor made it so.
Every single loyalist primarch is alive, Russ also being alive doesnt add much to his credibility considering how much of a fuckup he was in the Heresy, hes by nowhere the strongest primarch either.
Depends
like
The ones in game
you are literally spewing Space Wolf propaganda
Sanguinius
one that goes so badly the gaunts just die
and i say this as a person that likes the Wolves lol
I think its based on tabletop rules, which IIRC deals like 1 mortal wound or some shit to everything with 6 inches
depends really
hes basically always been dead so he doesnt really count
He's still running around somewhere in the warp, unlike G-man and Lion, too.
How tf do you kill a corpse
I meant as in his entire character is to die lol
he has nothing else going for him
Necrons be like
That doesnt say much tbh.
Same with Ferrus Manus
Also i was gonna ask, do nightlords worship anyone?
Uhh entirely depends.
Yesn't
Depends but as a whole
Some do, some dont.
My point was that Russ is MIA, so he has even less of a claim to the Golden Throne lol
No
Thats essentially it
you know what would be a hilarious storyline? Perturabo becomes a Daemon and they have to get him to fix the Golden Throne
LOL
Can't compete for something if you're not around to compete
Hes already a daemon prince so
Im sure hes content being a massive AA-gun platform
War Machine on steroids
Basically
Night Lords and Alpha Legion are Renegade
Lmao
YEET
With the attitude of an incel Megatron
They arent. They are fully devoted to chaos
...
So Megatro-
Its more that some worship gods some dont
Fun fact: Megatron in a word sense mental gymnastics finds Starscream hot
Also, Angron defeated Leman Russ before he ascended to become a daemon primarch, FYI.
So, he's definitely not the strongest 🙃
I mean Megatron does beat Starscream like a housewife
Because he said something about a female decepticon that “She’s almost hot enough to replace you”
I swear that's the only reason why he even keeps him around
Megatron!? (Go watch transfromers one if youre bored. Its very good)
There is no other reason otherwise
^^^^^^^^^^^
I need to watch it but I’m in college
I want to see it so badly
Transformers One is great
It better be doing good
Was that the newest one that came out?
yep
You know what I need
I was expecting this too lol
so I didn't budget time to watch it
Remasters of War and Fall of Cybertron
Then again the OG Transformers movie was solid
Bumblebee sucks tho. Hate what they did to him 😦
it looks like a fucking toy movie before you get like the most darkest subject matters
like slavery, lower classes, suppression of the common masses
DAMN

It surprises me how little people know of Megatron’s backstory
like bruh
He wasn’t always an asshole dictator
he was Horus Lupercal before Horus Lupercal was a fucking thing
Plasma and las weapons, arc weaponry, power weapons, chain weapons, phosphor guns, ect.
lower grade then what you'd see a tech priest with
And Optimus is The Emperor if he was actually cool
Now that’s a hot take
but usually they're well made + maintained

The Emperor gave Russ the title of his Executioner. I mean thats not something you give to the guy manning the door at your local movie theater. Its also pretty clear that the Emperor called him into the Warp (likely because he is the only one strong enough to withstand its perpetual hostility) to track down something that will heal or restore Big E. A task only fitting for the numero uno.
He literally gave every loyalist primarch some lame ass title
Executioner. He kill good
Big E’s too senile to be making decisions right now
its the logic of, "oh, its just robots" while me as a kid and me now see them as living beings getting killed brutally.
Not to mention the whole furry part of the SW’s fans
+++

Me watching Megatron rip a fucking false prophet leader in half in the theatres 💀
I’m a simple man:
I like iron Warriors cause guns on guns
I like Salamnders cause fire
I like DG cause I’m Cancer
Like dude, you can like space wolves, great, we all have our favorites. But every unresolved 40k discussion that usually ends up with mods stepping in is a discussion of "XYZ is better" "no ABC is better"
I am just saying what everyone is thinking. Russ will return in the final battle (as is foretold in Chapter prophecy), and ring in a new era for mankind with the return of the Emperor. Its not a big leap here folks.
God, That second half of the movie goes so hard
Shush no spoilers
Stop speaking for everyone. Not everyone here agrees with you.
I disagree with you.
The upside of robots instead of humans
Gore isn't a concern

^
And you'll find plenty of people on the classic 40k forums that will disagree with you
Samurai Jack be like
Or do you fear that I might be correct.
😂
"fear" lol "fear" of internet words?
Ngl
the way he dies in One is great
Fun fact: Optimus said “I’ll kill you” more than the villains
in other news
Dude
my younger cousin was both horrified + intrigued lol
At least put a fucking spoiler tag
Not in the physical sense of course. But that Leman Russ is actually the chosen primarch, and eveyrone who is been sleeping on Space Wolves will have no choice but to acknowledge there superiority.
I’m on campus right now I can’t go out and watch it
Nah no thanks
10 year old me was not very happy to see one of my fav autobots getting ripped in 2 lol
Once you've been around the 40k communtiy for maybe more than a year, you'll realize that these discussions go nowhere.
That, or you're actively deciding to troll.
my bad
Brother I got a space wolf tattoo on my arm. I aint no troll.
Like the whole "My chapter is best" thing has been around since the 90s. It's dumb and produces no productive or conducive conversation.
One day, everyone will realize the superiority of Ogryns, and everyone will be forced to bow to their elegance. They will also bring in the missing primarch, Olog, the Ogryn Primarch.
Oh god, you're that far gone on spacewolves meatriding. OK, I'm not continuing this topic lol.
I guess it’s not too spoilery considering the bastard dies in everything even War for Cybertron (Zeta Prime is Sentinel right?)
I had, Space marine 2 spoiler:|| the chaplains identity|| spoiled for me like an hour before my game installed 😭
the one with the big chin
Fair enough. But if you were trapped on a frozen planet and vastly outnumbered by a vicous enemy . . . you'd want a chapter of SW with you wouldnt you?
I watched that as a kid
Ogryns
Black Myth: Wukong ain’t on Xbox yet cause of the stupid split screen issue that delayed BG3 and I saw the final boss
Nope. I'd want a bunch of Thousand Sons to teleport me away.
And tbh
A chapter of Ogryns instead
Why settle for a chapter? Go for an entire legion - ogryns aren't limited by the silly Codex Astartes
True!
In fact, give me a segmentum full of ogryns
Admech Ogryns
I want a band of a million large lads that can eat my enemies and have a good time fighting for me
Luv me Omnisah
I bet you if we had more ogryns we could defeat the 'nids easily by just punching them all.
Luv me Mech'ead
In fact, if we grow a big enough ogryn we can punch hive ships too.
Okay that explains a lot.
Again its okay to like Chapters
just... dont go around like this going "HES THE CHOSEN ONE"
lmao I love how we both came to that same conclusion
^
I mean its kinda like that but not super really
its the "hero's journey" but it stops after like Phase 1
and he turns into a generic villain
LOL
with weird pipes
don't forget the weird pipes
I think dominus is a title suffix given at the Magos level?
Adept Dominus Expertise is what I’m reading
Then Adept Secutor Expertise
And Adept Skitarius Expertise
granted I think it’s a fan wiki

sounds about right
Oh wait
Reductor could work
Dominus is very high up lol
Thats only give to magi/archmagi

Its fine to not know anything or know little

thats such an odd selection though lol
Blessed be the mind too small to doubt
for that video game
... as long as one doesn't come in here pretending that they do
Secutor, Skitarii(???) and then Dominus
It was kinda weird that they had tech priest inquisitors
This is true
That's never shown up anywhere else in the lore
the tech priest has its own gestapo Inqusition anyways
Oh, interesting
"I got to ask the writer of Inquisitor Martyr that question in a QnA.
The Tech-Adept Inquisitor is not a Tech-Priest Inquisitor (hence the Adept in his name – it is a very important distinction). He is someone who spent time training on a Forge World at the Cult Mechanicus, but before he could have become a fully ordained Tech-Priest, he left to become a retinue member for an Inquisitor, then he became an Interrogator, then a proper Inquisitor. He is still heavily relying on everything he learned during his days as a Tech-Adept - his augmentations remained, his thinking is quite different from the usual agents, not to mention that he is using battle automata in battles, but he is an Inquisitor now. The official standpoint is that Tech-Priests don’t become Inquisitors."
So the class name in game would be Techpriest or Tech Adept?
oh thats cool
Tech Adept
Tech priest is also fine
OK, now figure out how to make them Rejects.
I think Techpriest rolls off the tongue better
Tech heresy, insulted someone powerful, ran from battle
uhhhh
Was imprisoned for being too nice to a menial idfk
Ate Ogryn’s rations and left him hungry
I mean, how do you explain the Wolf Time prophecy?
Early on in Darktide’s life time
What would the three for TechPriest/Adept be
Sharpshooter, Skullbreaker, Preacher and Psykinetic
were the 4 offical names
we have hidden names in code for the rest
yeah
Skullgryn
All this for a funny robophiliac as a playable character
What are your ideas for like Blitzes/abilities @jade holly
Servo skull drone that has different functions based on the blitz
Then for combat abilities:
Servitor summons
Heavy weapon mode using a Mechadendrite/Dual wielding
Idk the third
Could be an ability modifier
Start with a Gun Servitor
Could summon more
go up to a combat or more
Or upgrade to bigger
Wolftime is basically the equivalent of real life Norse mythology's Ragnarok, i.e. the "end times". The implication when Russ left Bjorn Fell-handed as Great Wolf was that his return would be the "last battle" of all the primarchs (loyalist and traitor) and marines, which would destroy the galaxy and restart the whole process of the galaxy without humankind.
Welcome to 3rd edition lore.
Keystones are where I’m blanking
Which, correct me if I am wrong, goes along with my idea that the Space Wolves will usher in a new era for mankind.
New era? Mf he said “Without Mankind”
ALL primarchs (still alive)

And all of them will die.
Agreed. Wolf-kind
You really are a furry
Wolf-kind and pig-kind and raven-kind and chicken-kind and grox-kind

metasurgeon(Genator/biologis, servitor stuff)
Secutor(war priest, combat focused stuff)
Necromechanic(artisans, team buff)
do not ask why the lowest rank of artisans are called necromechanics
I don't know either
Its clear humans are not built for this universe. The only logically outcome would be to assimilate the remaining vestiges of humanity into the Space Wolves and indow them with the Canis Helix.
Cause your team will be dead by the time you buff them

It’s just a mechanic with poor timing
lol
That still makes them human, so, no
I suggest reading up on Ragnarok
That's the equivalent of Wolftime
The best thing to happen is for tyranids to just nom nom nom the whole galaxy
everyone wins
I guess for the Necromechanic the combat ability to could be applying stims to your entire team
Lol
combat, Celerity, med you name it
that would be hilarious
okay NOW I know this is a meme
you legit had me worried earlier
"artisanal" drugs
Get rid of the artis part and that’s how they’re injected

Wouldnt the best outcome be the Emperors return, the unification of all human factions under one banner, and ultimately the defeat of Chaos?
The best outcome would be us all morphing into wolves imo
You can't defeat chaos
Nor can you defeat order
Amen to that sister.
Even in chaos there is order
ITS MIGHTY MORPHIN TIME
4 chaos gods with their own realms
Inside you there are two wolves:
one is an EC enjoyer
The other is a DG enjoyer
You are a very sick individual
Your telling me, on an open vox. the Emperor could not find a way to defeat Chaos?
Yes
The emperor could not find a way to not be a fucking corpse
legit skill issue
he took his L
Herecy
He couldn’t find a way to be good father
Oh no
Okay jokes aside
its like 03:26 at night, im too lazy to do more wolf jokes
im gonna go sleep yall keep him going if you want

Im coming back when that Wolf-Time prophecy book drops, Leman returns and free's mankind from its endless struggle against darkness. IM COMING BACK AND YOUR ALL GOING TO SEE! <SLAMS DOOR>
IM TRYING TO SLEEP STFU
How many weapons does each class have (barring Ogryn) that are unique to them?
🛌
woof
2?
Maybe 3?
Zealot has flamer, thammer, eviscerator
Vet has plasma gun and power sword
I guess psyker has 5, 4 staves and 1 force sword
Ogryn be ogryn
Yeah they made a lot of them not-unique in that patch lol
Ogryn speshul
Ok so I know for sure Techpriest needs the funny gear axe
Imagine if ogryn had dueling sword but used it as a toothpick instead
maybe an Arc pistol and an Arc Lance
Honestly there are two things that I wish was moved over from Classic to Modern Fallout
- Dick shots
- More Gorey death scenes in general
In fallout 1 and 2 you were literally able to just
Shoot them in the dick
No joke
you can still do that in darktide
In any FPS really
But in Fallout 1 and 2, VATs was how combat worked
And the dick was literally a part you could select
Oh you mean VATs 😂
So
was it not
Yeah even had voice lines for it too
I think it was crotch
Either way, let's be fair here
You're shooting them in the dick
Or vagina if they're a woman
No sexism here

Either way, kinda wish we got a return of that
Imagine if a Pacifist run was possible
By literally just shooting them in the crotch
I think in general
So that they just collapse in pain
They're still alive
They wish they aren't
But they're still alive
Therefore pacifist
Trust

Pacifism is not the act of not killing, it is the act of no violence
Self defense (tm)
even then
Jokes aside though.
I do kinda wish that there were more non lethal options in games
Or as I like to call it
"You're gonna wish you were dead."
Fallout does have the ability to talk out of a lot of encounters
But it would be nice to have some non lethal options
Like Cyberpunk 2077
We call that psychological warfare
like when you’re getting mugged, you pull out a fork and knife and say “Lord, thank you for the feast you have given unto me” then charge the mugger

Also I kinda wish the gore system in the fallout games was better
You can't destroy the torso at all in those games
terrifying presence my beloved
Why?
I mean you can
But you need bloody mess
And it just explodes
Where are the exposed flesh
Also it would be neat to have like
Enemies with missing limbs
Like you can cut off their arm
Or have enemies without an arm in the first place
That would be cool
sup yall
theres mods and when you see dead bodies you can chop off whatever you want
Just making an Admech class
Finally have some concrete stuff to work with
You know what?

I’m gonna make my own Space Marine chapter
Listen to this every morning
They are the True Custodians
They are a secretive chapter that no one sees or hears about. They specialize in cleaning up the battlefields of blood and guts to prepare for the next skirmish
and their Primarch is Lord Oxidal Cleanline
Horus Luperclean
Heard Morrow was there when Sanguinius ate it
yea?
Needed to figure out the archetypes and what their play style is
Started with Technoarcheologists, Enginseers and ElectroPriests to Skitarii to Tech Adepts
ahhh
What would lot consider a "lore accurate" zealot?
May or not survive mortal wounds because he believe the Emperor hasn’t given him the right to die yet
Fair enough
Combat Servitor
Already in mind
Starts off with a gun servitor
Can opt to have more
Or upgrade to a bigger one
tl;dr
Is there a difference between gun and combat Servitors?
It's just a casual terminology
Generally referring to one with a gun and one with close combat weapons
But then there are those with both so 🤷♂️
Uhhh song using AI images
Gun servitors are servitors with guns, combat servitors are specialized for combat and up armored or have other things to better augment them for combat
Why do zealots hate psykers? The emperor was a psyker himself
Do Space Marines cry?
About what? Love? Loss? Joy?
Does mephiston exist on the table top?
He seems absurd I don’t know how you would balance him without just gimping him
I like to imagine there is a corner of the grim dark where a Space Marine put down his weapon and built a wooden cabin on a cliffside overlooking an endless ocean. He wakes up every morning with the woman he fell in love with and they watch the sunrise everyday together.
I was under the impression space marines didn't really feel romantic love
Idk so much as cry, but they do have feelings to some extent
If Winston Smith was able to uncover a fleeting love in George Orwell's 1984. Sure too, could a Space Marine.
Idk about love but there was a Carcharodon who felt bad for a psykerish child and his mother so after the mission that he needed him for instead of killing them he faked all of their deaths and helps them live on some random planet
That shows empathy.
Yeah he was a pretty neat character for being a shark boy
I think there were a few non corrupted fallen angels who did something similar
Are augments given to anyone who needs them or is it just "broke a leg oh well time for servitoral conversion!"
Augments are mostly saved for someone who can pay
American Healthcare reference
Being a servitor is a punishment or when people just don't have enough working force
and so they are made that way
Got any examples I can research?
While many are vat-grown, often a criminal, particularly one who has offended the Cult Mechanicus, will be sentenced to "Servitude Imperpituis" and will be handed over to the Tech-priests to be mind-wiped, reprogrammed, and cybernetically-enhanced to serve some specific, rudimentary function.
-Lex
so they are basically just flesh drones
Oh ok I assumed servitors were mainly the human form of dreadnought, still serving the emperor even in a dismantled state with a few criminals as exceptions
Like whatshername who sold cosmetics being turned into "penance unit mk1"
What kind of shoes do commissars wear ? I’m trying to make a costume but can’t figure out the best kind of shoe for it
yeah
if your talking about the traitor in dark tide
I would assume expensive business shoes or maybe combat boots
Yeah
Looks like a pair of shin high leather boots with that one imperium symbol around the top
sorry i think im misremembering.
There is loken and mersadie but they dont settle down
Usually Loss
SMs do cry
It takes a lot because they're brainwashed to be fearless
But they do cry
Usually these tears turn into rage though
SMs also basically go through... what I could only called "genetic trauma" if their Primarch dies
Sanguinius dying had it so that some Marines go insane with rage
And start to see their enemies as Horus
Pleading and asking why they betrayed them
Betrayed their brothers
Betrayed the emperor
All the while they slice at the traitor
Except sometimes "Horus" could literally just be a random person
Lmao
I vaguely recall a story of a space marine (terminator maybe?) who lost his memory somehow and ended up becoming a farmer after being rescued by some local town of rural people. Eventually he fights a tyranid that appears with what remnants of armour he had and dies to protect the village.
Yeah he got brain damage
Like
Literal brain damage

Also it was a normal SM
Anyways that's probably the closest a SM got to having a happy life as far as I know. Like some clone troopers type of stuff there
Guilliman also had the temptation to literally
Run away and start a farm
During the Horus Heredy
RIP Arhiman's vineyard
Funnily enough, two Roman rulers had the same temptation as well
And Guilliman and the Ultramarines are inspired by pre-christain Romans
Yeah Diocletian was a Roman Dictator twice
But he only lasted three weeks both times despite the term being like two years
Because after he dragged the Roman Republic from getting destroyed/fucked over
He just went back to farming
Basically it's the Hollywood equivalent of
"They need me again?"
"Yeah."
straight up
What do tech priests think this symbol is
Rune of activation
Normal people: Turning on a machine
Admech: Turning on a machine
Looks Tau. Purge it.
Yep, was a deathwing ultramarines terminator who lost his memory IIRC fighting a bioplasma carnifex (possibly a screamer killer?)
Do Admech have any special resource for their tools?
They usually do an entire ritual to turn it on btw
That could be turned into a gameplay mechanic?
And yeah, later on that carnifex, which was the lone survivor, kills some towns people and he hunts it down and dies with it by pushing it off a cliff with him
like the Psyker’s peril
I had the idea of an Arc Charge that was used to abilities and blitzes but idk if that even makes sense
Like an energy meter used to activate combat abilities and Blitzes
faith in the omnissiah
my faith is lacking
I feel full of faith

Promethium is used to refer to different types of fuels
Like how there are different types of fossil fuels
Basically it's a blanket terms similar to how Gas is
But generally
It sticks to things, hot enough to burn underwater
And it somehow burns in space
Somehow
I think energy/Arc charge works better for their machine stuff
Also used for Flamers
Yeah but Promethium is the blanket term for any type of fuel in the Imperium
From flamethrowers to starships
So could have like a Promethium maker
Implying that the Tech Priest or whatever is somehow turning all the corpses into Biofuel
And then they release it to charge abilities and such
would a TechPriest use Promethium for their Mechadendrite though?
Probably for Servitors
maybe also carrying a pocket battery
remember generators are a thing
do I want the class to juggle multiple resources?
The Tech Priest/Skitarii should have the special ability to be able to carry the batteries while maintaining normal speed
similar to how the other classes have a unique quirk
If we ever get a Mechanicus class in darktide
ogryns already have that
it would just be on their back
Ah
They would have an easier time interacting with servo skulls and other devices
You don't see it because they are slower than your average person but they don't get slowed down by batteries
Actually yeah that's also good
They probably would know how the tech shit works
Instead of as hadron put it
"Pressing random buttons until they work"
Well
"know"
with quotations
They'd at least get around it slightly better than a layman at least
Honestly I always thought they should also be able to use it more like a melee weapon
Like we can push with the battery
but the Ogyrn should just be able to
BASH heretics with it
Like swing it around recklessly
And break the battery?
i mean
ogyrn

idk man maybe it's made out of super space glass and it can handle the ogyrn using it as a bashing tool
**Space Wolves > Commonly Referred to as SW > SW is also a term used for the direction 'South-West' > The emperors throne is located under what once used to be Mount Everest > Mount Everests South West face is pointed towards Nepal > This side of the mountain is said to be the most challenging and difficult to scale and is very similar to the terrain on Fenris. . . . . Coincidence? **
Do you mind? I’m busy making concept that I know will never see the light of day for this game

EAT IT
While you are all sleeping. Space Wolves run wild in the chat.
Brutal
Also, what was that like 5 hours of sleep?!?!
it's Slannesh's personal marines
like how Khorne has Berzerkers
and Nugle has Plague marines
More like nurgle gave them aids while they were stuck in metal bozes and said "if you worship me the aids will be amazing"
“The aids will be amazing not the most horrific thing you’ve ever experienced”
I mean, all things considered, the death guard got it kinda good
They retained their sanity and free will. Ish. Relatively speaking.
Look at the WE, TS, and EC in comparison.
I feel like khorne wouldnt be that bad
Butchers Nails?
if you think becoming a frothing on the Mouth musclebound monster is a good thing then go ahead
An uncontrollable need to run at the closest heavy bolter emplacement with a chainaxe?
by wh40k standards
By 40k standards keeping your soul and your sanity is amazing.
We got
BDSM, Space aids, BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, and being pixie dust
In the first and third you lose your sanity and self control, in the fourth you lose your soul
SO space aids is probably
the best worst thing
Now im wondering if there are any books on nobles having to deal with an invasion on a hive city
Kinda yeah. Although being a TS sorcerer is pretty lit and the best of all of those though.
Necropolis in the Gaunts Ghosts series
ty
Are the nobles insufferable?
as in arrogant, cocky, naive
Yes
this is gonna be satisfying
Core premise of the book, even, is insecurity about off world Guard authority
Vs local PDF authority
Honestly the Space Wolves are likely the strongest Space Marines in 40k. They wholly reject much of the Codex Astartes, and refused to break their legion down into more "manageable" numbers. Making them one of the larger (largest?) factions. They also operate with near complete autonomy. I also once heard that Iron Hands secretly fear and reveres our boys from Fenris.
Butchers Nails isn't Khornes fault. Probably loves it though
Damn, SW coping is real
Hes memeing dont worry.
The Space Wolf banner tattooed on my arm says I aint.
holy shit lmfao
Imagine still being a loyalist
This comment was brought to you by the Thousand Sons Shadow Wizard Money Gang
im starting to think forever winter is modern grimdark
less 80's cartoonish and more millenial existentialism
also always great to see 1984 world building used
It literally is so yes.
the 40k comparisons to it are pretty annoying though lol
what is that
Remember when Squats rode trikes? Well, they're coming back!
Check out the new Ironhead Squat Prospectors miniatures for Necromunda. https://t.co/svtDuLITZg
#Necromunda #WarhammerCommunity
oh hell yeah
isn't 40k a stated inspiration by some of the devs though
Im pretty sure not. The devs are all from other industries in the media, theres nothing really too 40k about the game either since GW didnt invent post-apocalyptic war scenarios or people worshipping machines.
fair enough
wait is that just lethal company but with bosses
no
it doesnt have really anything with lethal company
unless you consider picking up junk lol
Good single player exp?
It looks so sick from the trailers im seeing
yeah very much why its in early access
man, i get it, youre a fan, but they are really not. they truly live up to the saying " all bark no bite"
MESS WITH THE WOLF. GET THE FANGS!
ok nvm, i just hate some heavy bait
Leman Russ is widely accepted as not only the smartest, but strongest Primarch there is. Rivaling that of Big E himself
yeah, sorry gang, i took the bait
i deserve it
Space wolves do be getting up to some bullshit ngl
Like fighting the inquisition and not getting completely obliterated
The sues to surpass the blue balls
The black templar fans talk mad shit about killing furries but do not fuck with them, thats how powerful they are
I still haven't forgiven those glorified space furries for burning down Prospero
One of the greatest city of Mankind, burned to the ground all cause the Emperor was too dumb to see past Magnus breaking down the "Do Not Disturb" sign

What a fascinating way to see that series of events
He was too dumb to also tell Magnus what the Warp even was.
because uhhh "reasons"
Yes that too
For all that talk of reason and logic blud expects his sons to reject smth they don't even know exists omegalul
My favorite thing with 30k in general is
Dumb event has to happen because it was pre-written as so
Everyone goes full-moron.
Details are explained in future books with even more flimsy excuses
The reason prospero burned is because Magnus is stupid
Not Russ’s fault, he was just the one holding the torch (axe)
Also Horus too being really good at the whole war master thing
Its a domino effect
Emperor was stupid and didnt say anything about how the Warp works > Magnus fucked up due to it > Leman is just a moron
they are all big levels of idiocy
Magnus was very aware of how the warp worked and the Webway project
He really wasnt on a larger scale.
He was just an idiot who to thought he could control it
He was told to not fuck with stuff
He still did
Yeah literally on the loosest term lol
Leman was going to fight a bunch of super magic pyskers that do really scary things
You can’t hold back against that
also like father like son moment
He was over and over told by everyone else, who could clearly see the issues with it
Its kinda inevitable is the thing
like we are talking about a book series written from footnotes
yeah
Have you heard of the tale of icarus?
Prospero in general is mostly done well but it has a lot of gaping moments
Thats magic red man
Magnus sitting down to die then changing his mind is prob the funniest one tho
THAT is one of my favorite moments from how goofy it is
i get that like "last second changing mind" is a thing
Magnus coming out to fight Russ finally was pretty sick though
but uhhh
yeah lol
There’s plenty of consistency in there, the fact that people don’t think Magnus was very aware of how risky his actions were and would have kept pushing regardless of what he was told, it’s the whole point of his character.
It was okay
again primarch vs primarch
He always makes the worst choice largely
you saw one fight you saw it all
Him just not holding back before and just laying waste and the whole planet falling apart
Well yeah because plot
hes suppose to be a well studied scholar
The sky bulking under weight
but makes a mistake a 10 year old wouldnt
that too lol
(with an ego)
No he’s just arrogant lol
Being well studied doesn’t mean you make good choices
He still acts way too stupid
He is book smart not world smart
Yeah but a very smart ass "I'm sire I won't fuck it up" mindset
It’s the wisdom vs intelligence thing
He does because again plot needs to happen
Magnus has very clear and consistent personality traits
I mean
He’s very arrogant and thinks he knows better, the issue is people read A Thousand Sons at face value
for the entire thing to work a literal shapeshifting daemon had to be present
thats how shoddy it is lol
Like they miss a lot of times how insane he sounds at Nikea
lmao yeah the Changeling
yeah but Nikea itself is also just bad
“Erm, all pyskers should be unregulated and free to explore hell”
Yes that’s the point lol, Magnus is an arrogant idiot who would never listen
Its more that they basically have to spearhead an event that more or less becomes irrelevant a literal year later
KEK
my favorite part of 30k tbh
like most of the "pivotal moments" its more or less a waste of time and book fodder
He and his sons think they’re basically invincible and always right and everyone else is being psychic Luddites
yeah that
you dont get much out of it anyway
Well you do but also as said above its just largely irrelevant
The khan should have been at the council of nikea
wouldnt have mattered
It wouldn’t have mattered
He actually likes psykers
^
And isn’t stupid like Magnus lol
