you're the iron hand fetishist right ?
I have a question about the iron hands
I would maybe put it differently but sure
Ew
how do they mark different ranks
as in?
as in sergeant, captain ect
oh we posting dogs now
on the armor
bet
This is my friends dog, barney.
she also sits on the house
Hmm
So kinda lazy but this is what the official stuff is
But
Because of how their clans work and what not these often can be ignored
The short answer is
i just wanted to know what color to paint the helmet of my heavy in sm2 thx
Search “iron hands rankings”
white it is
Really?
In general it’s up to you, there’s not much of a real rule and the IH largely have a disdain for established stuff like that
Some clans have no markings at all
No way to distinguish the marines
Some have a lot more ornamented stuff
she puts all other dogs to shame
das cool, i wish the heavy marine had the same head option as assault
This is the IH Deathwatch Heavy I did, arguably a little too ornamented.
But some IH do more some do much less
Fun fact Macaroni pizza is a thing
boba pizza is a thing
Yeah the heavy feels very IH in his dialogue
Even his name
the vanguard sounds unhinged
Straban could be an IH name
God i wish these were models
heavy is literally a souless creature
it's more than that you know this Zimmer
Heresy iron hands were peak iron hands
Heretical type shit
Heavy is so humorless he circles back around to being funny
“Brother Straban how do you maintain such focus in battle?”
“I refrain from unnecessary conversation.”
“Oh th-…oh.”
Just say what you have to say
the magos at the armoury is more humane
I always found these models insane because of there ambition at the time
You would think these were elite units
God
But no, these are officially just regular tactical squads
“Are you experiencing issues with your new reduced rank?”
“No.”
“Interesting, I saw a 96.46% chance it would be an issue.”
Archmagos way to say “Cap”
Let me reiterate, these were tactical squads
these would be so much better if they had prosthetic legs
Imagine if they cooked this hard for every model
Its the MK2 Iron hands Legion tactical squad
ngl
I always felt they fit more as a tactical support squad
since you only get 5 dudes
I would love if we got a high effort Iron Hands sprue for legs and a bunch of stuff besides heads and arms
But I get it
but they come with bolters so legion tactical squad it is
Got this guy at least
Keep on huffing the Copium brother
we'll get it eventually
Arent you content with your whopping one IH character model?
Technically three
But it’s how it is
I’ll always like more, we might get it we might not
I’m fairly happy with what we got
he's very focused, 2 of his emote lines are "Keep vox clear of unnecessary chatter" and "engaging standard moral boost, For the Emperor"
It’s hilarious
I would personally remove the chest to get rid of any signs of mk6
IH use Mk6
It depends on what you want but the main thing to remove is the symbols
Which isn’t too bad
The ones on the legs look tedious
zephon is a great mini for a lot of stuff honestly, i swapped his sword out for a thunder hammer
It’s not too bad
Especially since they overlap with the trim
It's a pretty good way to characterize a person by making his emotes into what is effectively an anti-emote.
Especially since he’s a centerpiece model
Fuck I can eat alot of food
Ok
Ok
just gotta smooth it out a bit, the other is a seperate piece from the leg
I don't trust my brother on the right (i'm the Lamenter)
You don’t need to add more or much
That lighting just makes that yellow look thinly layered
Like damn, thats nasty looking
¯_(ツ)_/¯
found em
Haar and Garrius are also two I could like to convert to IH
Feels like they’d work well
Haar is super easy
Garrius is a nightmare to convert
What's the second richest planet in the imperium after holy terra
I would replace garrius with pollux
Like the planet who is second only to the prestige of holy terra
Mars probably
Kinda a boring answer but
Macragge is maybe third
You mean the second most prestigious planet in the imperium?
Yeah
I mean i get it they do make literally everything the imperium uses
Lucius is probably up there too
And Necromunda
Kinda depends on what you’re looking for but those are all good options I’d say
I'm mainly looking at status here
You never know what the next book will say, maybe is the forge planet glurpus shittius
Like holy terra is basically the end of beyond
For most people
But like what's considered second place by that metric
If the emperor didnt sat on the goldren throne, it wouldnt be as prestigious as it is now
Like in terms of status and influence what's the second planet after terra
Mars
Probably Mars, Macragge, Baal
Terra was on the decline during the crusades, as it wasnt really that territorially important
Yeah i'm going to lean in with mars
It's the home world the mech runts
Fame will vary by sector but those worlds everyone would know
Problem is that it's apparently a shitty place to live
Like
Exceptionally shitty even for 40k
Maybe Fenris too
Yeah mcragge was a big like
Kinda hard to say
Holy site
Thats not the point of the discussion
Baal is inaccurately know as where sanguinus was found
But all of the Baal’s are shitholes so it rarely gets pilgrimages
Usually really rich people who barely spend time on baal secundus lol
True
Again, I'd probably state that Mars is a bit more important and "wealthy" as a result
It’s not common marine homeworlds are places you can go anyways
Purely because it makes all the Imperium's shit.
If Mars didn't exist, nearly every single planet in the Imperium's collection would be screwed
Most of them are shitholes too
I would not wanna go to barbaros when it was still was normal
my mate Shogo voices Straban in the game!!
very kool
That’s sick
He did a great job
I was wondering: Any loyalist can become a traitor/heretic and be accepted by chaos but can someone that was never a loyalist, born in the domains of chaos, be accepted to be a loyalist?
Favorite one of the classes
In a very convoluted and rare case; maybe
If they’re somehow not corrupted
On the second one assuming they aren’t heavily corrupted yeah
No chaos worshipper in general has been shown to convert to the imperial truth
They could become a Blackshield in the DW
Some have
It’s very rare though
It’s incredibly rare
Chaos juice is too good to give up
I always liked the story idea of an undivided sm chaos warlord that was born into chaos, but is like extremely unfaithful and treats it like a formality
Huron is kinda like that
Misses chaos church, doesnt remember scriptures, so it creats conflict within his ranks
He basically does not care about Chaos itself
He’s a chaos warlord
He’s not different from the rest who claim they’re somehow not in the grip of chaos
True. But he isn't like
Ultra religious word bearer level
Basically it's equivalent to your addicted friend being like
"I can quit anytime I want!"
Basically
destroys liver even more
Also there are like a lot of instances in religion where people like
Go to a confessional booth
Only for the thing they confess to being extremely mundane
why do you need a amazon gift card
And the Priest is wondering why they even confessing
I wonder how many times this has happened to the Imperium
Except the mundane might be an issue for some priests
Said what I said
“I bathed twice once in the communal sand bath”
“Titus! You killed all the heretics! You really are the warhammer 40000! Now you will be reassigned to another front that needs your help, it’s currently being organized by an inquisitor dealing with a nurgle rebellion.”
Man every story with the salamanders interacting with any other chapter is so fucking annoying lmao
"FATHER. I HAVE SINNED GREVIOUSLY."
"What is it you've done my child?"
Prepares bolter behind his back
"I-I ACCIDENTALLY SIPPED SISTER ASHLEY'S CUP OF ORANGE JUICE, THINKING IT WAS MY OWN!"
unloads bolter
"Sister... That's not. Why would you even..."
"I JUST. I JUST FEEL SO BAD."
"Just... Just apologize to her."
"THANK YOU FATHER, YOUR GRACIOUS ADVICE IS TRULY OF THE EMPEROR'S WILL!"
sister walks away
"By the Emperor why am I even here..."
Which side?
Okay honestly
That would genuinely be really fucking cool
A SM and Darktide crossover would be awesome
Ngl
I don't care if it's fanficy as fuck.
titus proceeds to be stun locked to infinity by dogs and dies tragically
Yeah I think Yarrick avoids being fanficy due to his
Relationship(?)
With Ghaz
Mainly because it is genuinely interesting
I thought that I have seen the extent of the enemies of the Imperium.
The insidious hands of Chaos.
The cunning brutality of the Orks.
The strategic mindlessness of the Tyranids.
But nothing could have prepared me...
"FOR THESE FUCKING TRAPPERS. BROTHERS HELP ME!"
Knife Zealot dies from trying to speed run the level
"FUCK!"
My duty is over. Not by the great enemies of the Imperium. But by a bunch of dogs, Ogyrns, and Poxwalkers ganging up on me while a Trapper watches sensually.
Seriously you'd think they would at least have the courtesy to not stare at me like that. I'm beginning to think they're part of Slaanesh instead.
huh
Honestly bro, tyranids warrior duelists vs ogryns would be fun
Especially with darktide melee system
I don’t think our team could beat a carnifex though lol
Zealot one shot thunderhammer
Weird question, that ulfric from the deathwatch prologue isnt the same one from rt right
Or is it just coincidental
Generic viking name
Generic
All space wolves are the same anyway
True
Just another space wolf named the same thing
Man Titus gettting killed by getting eaten by a beast of nurgle is so funny
So, what's the deal with psykers? Yes they are gifted individuals who can tap into the immaterium (and it can tap back into them) and use their will to do whatever cooked stuff they got in mind.
But what exactly sets them apart?
They got magic powers and if they lose control they can summon daemons
They’re born with stronger souls and an affinity for the warp
They’re technically abhumans
But they can reproduce with normal humans unlike most abhumans
And 2 psykers having a kid doesn’t always make a psyker kid
Soul stuff huh
Yeah
Some weak psykers never get found out because their powers are so tiny
It’s barely noticeable
At the lower levels a Psyker night just be unusually lucky
Or aware of things going on
What is exactly a soul in the world of 40K?
It’s your soul
As in like
You’re both a being of flesh and warp stuff in 40k
The soul helps make up a chunk of you
Since there are those who are basically nulls with no connection to the warp.
They have an anti soul
More so then no soul
Blanks souls are still in the warp
As found out by a culuxus in the pariah nexus
Since he feels his soul literally separating from his body
Being cut off from your soul in 40k pretty much puts you into a coma
Interesting, interesting.
The Necrons somehow got around that via bio transference
Though some Necrons note they’re essentially a “dead” race
Culexus tend to be the most powerful blanks also and have gear to dampen or supercharge their aura
Sisters of Silence similarly can focus and use their blank aura in various ways
Like igniting their blades with white fire which burns away the soul
Being so nonchalant you have an aura
I just tried the eternal war mode for the first time.
Would it be out of place for a ironhand to have their entire arm painted silver?
As good an explanation of Psyker classifications as any.
Most Humans fall into being Rho or Phi on the Scale.
Omicron through Kappa is very low level of Psychic power to the point where the person is probably not even aware of their powers/abilities and most of the time unconscious uses of their abilities can be chocked up to the person being lucky or having a knack or really good instincts/hunches.
Depends
But largely it’s up to you
These levels are the one's that fall through the cracks the most as it's just really difficult to keep track of someone whose gifts are so subtle and weak.
Iota, Theta and Eta are what Imperial Society more or less considers Psykers. It's at these levels that Psykers start showing up on the Imperiums radar or monitoring and acquistion to throw aboard the Black Ships.
Zeta and Episolon are Psykers with strong abilities and their usually the one's that can cause the most damage if left to their own devices and without any training.
The last bit is arguable too since Malcador and Magnus, although that’s obviously a funny one, arguably were Alpha+
Delta and Gamma level Psykers are both extremely rare and very potent Psykers and usually the one's that survive all of their ordeals are usually insanely powerful and this is at the level where most mortal Psykers are still somewhat 'Normal' cognitively.
Beta is the usual upper limit for what the Imperium is comfortable with training. Their insanely rare given not just the usual genetic lottery that goes into Psyker stuff and the usual shit Psykers go through in the Imperium but also they'd need to survive their own powers and not attract daemons since they burn VERY brightly.
Alpha+ has always been kinda handwavey
In general GW seems to try to avoid giving a lot of the major psykers actual labels of their level
Newer lore has anything over Alpha + start getting into negative categories.
So it starts going backwards.
So Alpha+ would give way to Beta+ then Gamma and Delta+
Which is kinda like giving a level for what happens after you get past infinite money
With how relevant it ever is
Beta+ is the theoretical limit an ordinary Human could potentially reach and have something approaching human cognition/sanity. that is somewhat recognizeable.
Not good enough. Needs to be 100% accurate!
It would be
Iron Hands vary a lot in how much they care about having any decoration or none
Some clans are described as having nothing to tell any rank apart
Some have heraldry and tilting shields and other stuff.
Eeeeeeh.
We have examples, admittedly most of those come from Dan Abnett.
Agun Soric is a Beta level Psyker.
Gideon Ravenor was a Delta or weak Gamma and he fought a rogue Psyker, Kinsky who was probably a full Gamma or even a Beta.
I said major psyker characters
The only major one I can think of is I think Voldus is said to be Beta level
Ravenor is a major Psyker character. :V
He’s not
He’s a major character in a good book series, as a whole he’s a minor character
There’s literally more inquisitors than there are space marines
There’s endless much more minor inquisitors
Ravenor is a good character, he’s not that important of one in 40k as a whole
He doesn’t have a model, doesn’t show up besides some quotes in books besides his series, isn’t even the most important inquisitor in that series or central character.
also his trilogy was the weakest
I liked it, but it’s the weakest of a good series of trilogies
Eisenhorn and especially Ravenor probably has the best depiction of Psyker abilities in the lore.
Its just semantics, dont worry about it.
Alpha as you say is literally just "whatever the author wants at the time", its basically bullshit anyway
Are there any xenos that have brought into the imperiums fold or is it all only “abhumans”
Whenever they get "brought" in its usually enslavement of some kind.
Its basically a fate worse than death and its largely only been ""attempted"" during 30k.
The first rule with aliens is extermination, only smart people tend to just trade or do other things with them underwraps
Ah so tau are the only ones who absorb other races then
Yeah pretty much, Tau use actual diplomacy, sometimes scummy sometimes honesty but its very much still diplomacy.
Jokaero
Jokaero arent really "brought in"
There are about as many wild ones out there
as the wiki says they are just there and chilling
and if you try to wipe em out you get blasted
wait is this the same ravenor in eisenhorn
It still counts.
They are brought in though, some are
Not all, and it’s not something all inquisitors even agreed on
Yes
But anyway yeah they arent subjugated
they are very much just "there"
because well, orangutan lol
Basically Aliens aren't ever really brought into the Imperiums fold except in VERY rare circumstances where a Rogue Trader get's like written permission or something.
Or was it some kind of liscense?
Yeah i think the question was more living under imperial rule which is uh
It's been ages.
They wouldn't live under Imperial rule for long.
Pretty much lmao
the only solid example we have is it happening
then like literal months later
they are all sucked to death for rejuvenation material
most xenos are bent on being evil shits so it's not like they'd want to fit in anyways
They arent really
Xenology shows us there are innocent ones still out there
humanity sucks ass
The Imperium at literal BEST will ignore alien races that are primitive stoneage types that live on some backwater world no one wants.
the minor ones
And yeah or just deem it as a "waste"
that's the ones during the great crusade
And that's mostly out of a sense of.
"It's not worth the resources and manpower to kill those primitive aliens for a planet we don't want."
YEP
there's not many peaceful species left in the galaxy
I mean they still exist
as per Xenology
which is post-rift
so "not as many" is not really that big of a deal
well that and also people dont wanna read about peaceful aliens
2006 book that is out of print
NO WAIT I MIXED IT UP
Liber Xenologis
not Xenology
but yeah what i said still applies lol
Yeah xenology is largely non canon
The Imperium isn't nearly as massive a galactic power as they like to present themselves.
There are still an absurd number of worlds in the margins of space that will never know the touch of the Imperium or it's heavy hand.
yeah not the book im talking about
The liber one is the new one
Its largely also cope yeah
both in-universe and out of it lol
He's talking about the other book dingus
I wish they did more stuff like that
It doesnt make money so it doesnt matter in their eyes so
mid 2000's 40k was peak content for misc books
They’re weird about it, like First Founding was amazing and sold out immediately
vraks was a misc book series right
Ehhhhh no i dont think so
its semi-misc because Forgeworld
but like its also very famous
GW seems to have a big philosophy of not having stuff in stock not being pushed as much as possible
well yeah because its space marines
Xenology for example is a lot more creative but its also just an encyclopedia
Yeah but also space marines
at least omnibuses are usually in stock
it's the smaller books that are hard to find
Basically every limited time thing sells out immediately
First Founding
that explains why i forgot lol
dude reading 100 pages in a day burns me out idk how you guys do it
yeet
I think at least
I just read it on my phone
and uhhh time passes idk
i do it until i fall asleep on my couch
Idk I’ve read since I was a kid
Some days I feel like it more though
I’ve been doing audiobooks more recently
It also depends if its physical or not, i cant read ink books because my allergy makes my fingers burn turning pages lol
i cant concentrate on audiobooks unless it has my full attention
then i miss entire chapters
Yeah same tho it depends, audio-dramas are easier
with audiobooks i sometimes turn on a game to aimlessly play with no ingame audio clues
that tends to help for me at least
i guess i should try with slower books
Audio drama is narrater dependent
trying to follow fall of cadia on audio is so hard
But most 40k narrators are good
to be fair
that audiobook was so bad
it literally got replaced like
....in a month?
Yeah I’ve never seen that happen before
which is uh... ive neve rseen that happen before lol
no im listening to the good one
Yeah that one
I didn’t listen to it but it sounds really bad
Literally everyone was complaining
i got a rip from a friend for a single chapter then i realised why lol
fucking irritating as shit
i like the narrator but there's so many characters in the book it's hard to follow while doing anything else
hey
i should try salamanders or something
only so many female and marine voices a guy can do
Uhhh you can try i guess
avoid Kyme ones
aka 99% of them
weird because the GW store guy told me he loved them
Okay see
the point is a employee cant tell you he hates the product
or well he just has no taste
but hey you can buy it and see for yourself, im not your dad

nah like he's a salamander fan and stuff
oh man
okay that explains it lol
some Sally fans absolutely hate kyme which is the majority but theres ones who like his books because its very much the only things they got
which is fair i guess...
but idk you'd have to put a gun to my head
he did recommend me the night lord omnibus which i got
yeah see the difference is THAT is peak
even if Night Lords stans can be fucking stupid

Goodreads ftw
^
a site so useful the authors themselves ask for you to leave reviews so they can read them there
since Black Library provides jackshit

Since I began reading in English earlier this year I've been tracking everything there, and it's nice knowing for an example how many pages you've read in a given month
its that videogame counter dopamine
i approve 👍
my phone just shoves me which app i spend the most hours in
and my epub is like 4 hours
lmao
Yup, number go up, brain go happy
i used to have so much time to read as a teen lol i probably should start gameifying it
Yeah like its hard but you get the hang of it
literally just lie down on your bed and read
open some skyrim ambience in the background or some shit
its cozy
see i do it every night but i pass out before reading like 20 pages
I've barely read anything the past two years cause of school, but since graduating in may I've read like 21 books lol
I read so much, genuinely if nobody bothers me or I don't have anything to do that day I could catch myself going 8-10 hours with no problems.
I am indeed jealous of chronic readers like this lol
my brain needs stimulation sadly
😔
My trick is reading during the commute to school/gym, that's the one thing I miss from going there by bus instead of driving
Now on the other hand, if I sit my ass down and try to write - it's excruciatingly painful.
i WISH i could take the bus
yeah welcome to writing lmao
"Man Im gonna write when i get home"
literally does nothing
rip
it's like coding, it looks fun to do but then you realize it's work
If I'm on vacation I average about a book a day
Not having a pc or phone to distract you while reading is a godsend
its why i never can sometimes give George Martin shit
people say he hasnt done a book in 10 years
meanwhile i cant fucking open a tab and keep writing on my google doc for 5k words

modelling has been taking most of my productive time lately which i wont complain about but i should get on the book grind again
Yea, every now and then I'll have bursts of inspiration, but like I've not finished a story in like 10 years
Even with them right next to me it doesn't make a difference, luckily I have no social media that I use - aside from discord so with no notifications or pings there's no distractions.
Hey I also didn’t decide to write a beloved book series that needs a conclusion please
I should get on that modelling grind, I've been procrastinating on painting my second space marine for like over a month now lol
oh no i procrastinate on that too. i meant 3d modelling
the next book is called A dream of spring for a reason 💀
That's not even the next book, it's Winds he's writing right now
Last book will be called Cope and Pray
im actually procrastinating on my models at this very moment
Oh that type of modelling
Tried to get into that once, but got bored too quickly
That's the real worry it's been over a decade without a book and he's got another one to write afterwards
My current project is called [Adrift in the 42nd Millennium™]
Hopefully I don't procrastinate too much on it by lying to myself that I am doing just research instead of putting pen to paper.
it's the only type of art that can keep me hooked for hours and hours. goes to show that everybody has their own desires
Well, I need to find a type of art that will do that for me
my trick is to do it right after work so i'm still in the work mood
I partially believe this is part of why lol
gotta treat it as work or you'll never get stuff done
Na that wouldn't put him off, because like the book story at this point is so different to the show that even if that's his idea for the end, it would be executed completely differently
Aight too much time spent here, back to my empty word document I go.
it took me a long time. basically i tried many things like music, drawing, painting, all that stuff until i found the one that i get the least bored while doing
Eh I think there’s gonna be a lot of similarities but the issue with the show wasn’t like
The core idea of the ending
It’s how they did it
also my job lets me learn 3d modelling even more on the side so like it's a win win situation
Yea, it also felt really coloured by Weiss and Benioff's personal feelings tbh
Like there are a lot of moments that happened because they wanted to do it
I only got until the 24th to do some good work because after that TFW comes out and I'll get hooked on it.
My main issue I think is extreme lack of confidence in what I do in the art department, and fear to do things completely on my own, without a tutorial or sth
Like how Edmure gets told to shut up and sit down by Sansa, because Weiss and Benioff had an irrational hatred for Edmure
Like I could see Dany “turning bad” in a similar way
But it’s gonna be more gradual and done better
Yeah book Tyrion will probably die laughing as she burns the city
Another question on iron hands. How are they on purity seals? Yay or nay?
Same as before
Like Show Tyrion and Book Tyrion are completely different characters, in the same way Show Jon is completely different to Book Jon
wow that's literally the exact opposite of me. i'm so hard headed that i try to do everything on my own without asking for help and end up getting lost. my psych gave me a lot of tricks to help me with my confidence, it's usually stuff like imaging your previous accomplishments to break the cycle of not feeling good enough
But I think I'll try drawing now that I've bought an Ipad for taking notes at university
Just need to buy something like procreate and I could give it a go in my spare time
So two of the three main characters leading up to that ending are totally different and I can assume Dany will also progress to that point in a completely different manner
The most important step for me I think is to actually start doing stuff and finishing them, then starting new drawings, and so on
i probably won't have too much time in uni so that won't really be a problem I guess
yeah that's the most important first step
and never feel like what you do isn't enough
Plus like we've no idea how the ||Aegon|| plotline will effect Dany, book Euron is a completely different beast so we don't know what he'll do that will effect her. There's just so many thing
even the smallest step is a victory
even if you can only draw once a week
@green loom this bitch here knows what i mean
Do with, then without
I think this is largely the problem too
George doesn't know how to wrap all this stuff up because it now all has to intersect.
Yea there are a lot of things plotting against Dany in the books that never happened in the show
Honestly he's been in trouble since like the first book
there's an odd amount of talented artists who post here
He's very prone to writting himself into corners
and then struggling to connect all the bits
Like the whole thing about how all the character are much younger than he intended them to be because his initial plan involved a 5 year timeskip between books, but then later he realised he couldn't do that because of the way it was written it didn't make sense for all the characters to sit and wait for 5 years.
do you guys ever just look at your long strands of flowing red hair in the sunlight and realize how beautiful they are
Not on a regular basis no, but that's probably because I'm a brunette
@storm jungle
Waves to Dilara

is it irish or scottish who have red hair
Both can have red hair
i think mine comes from my norman ancestors
The big problem with 40k books is that it feels like 90% of them are entirely about the Space Marines.
I demand Psyker novels!
Lmaooo i remember when a friend of mine asked for psyker novels
I used to have like singular strands of red hair blended in with the brown
I want to see Grim Dark Wizard Schools!
and like... all I could provide was Witchtaker
and uhhh
some fucking book from 2010
💀
Technically the Ravenor novels.
Also Cadian Blood had a PoV character who was a Psyker.
Witchbringer mentioned
yeah if you want psyker stuff you gotta look for sub-characters in books

And then a random space marine novel has some of the best fucking Sanctioned Psykers shit kicking the Tau.
i only today learned that a witchfinder is not an inquisitor
Eisenhorn was a Psyker.
Lmao dude
yeah witchfinder is more just a fancy title
So his novels also count.
some Inquisitors refer to them as such but its like w/e
wait
so it's not an echlesiarchy title
Severina Raine's books have a Psyker character that she's "friends" with
because it says so in eisenhorn
Uh it has multiple uses since its a very generic title
"you find witches, you are a witchfinder"
its not as solid as say, Interrogator
etc
Off the top of my head the novels that have the biggest Psyker stuff going on are Eisenhorn Trilogy and the Ravenor Trilogy.
Also that Witchfinder/bringer novel that was.....Okay. (Though why the fuck was a member of the Ecclessiarchy running that Campus?)
Blades of Damocles has some amazing Psyker characters and scenes.
But that's like. Fucking it.
so your character is an inquisitor?
fuck
Oh this isnt a character
i just put the name because it sounded funny at the time
it was during the big purge phase
literally
Local Witchfinder
She actively hunts Witches in her spare time
LMAO
ye you're more of a kasrkin now
had to accept the pfp it was a gift 😭
also its akshually WitchBRINGER
extremely creative title i know
It's been ages since I read it. XD
bravo Black Library
And it was mediocre.
next you'll tell me a novel about the Deathwatch is named Deathwatch
You don't get to akshually that, you called it Witchtaker earlier
so this munitorum witchfinder is a dan abnet creation?
Like. It definitely wasn't bad.
yeah thats warhammer fiction alright lol
Nope.
i never heard of them before
Steven Fischer is the author.
Sup ya'll
no im talking about in eisenhorn
I enjoyed Witchbringer, thought it was good
It's.....Like. Okay. It's not bad. It's kinda short.
Yea
Good news
There's supposedly a sequel in the works
eisenhorn is hunted down by a munitorum witchfinder in the second book
It draws a lot from the old TTRPGs a LOT which was nice.
The author wants it to be several books
Was able to get my hands on a sketch book
now I can get back to drawing
LETS GOOOOO
He said in a Reddit AMA that he has several books in mind for the character and intends to write them all so long as GW lets him
Like i said before dont think about it too much, Witchfinder is such a basic title people come up with that it gets thrown around a lot
Nah here's a cool title
For every amazing Warhammer novel you get like.
Several by the numbers bolter porn written by a middling author that's the equivalent of fast food of varying quality.
Books that are literally advertisements for the latest batch of plastic crack.
And the occasional crime against literature.
Veteran of the first waaaagh
Considering the only novels that come out are Imperium focused and of those 90% of them are space marine novels....
In all seriousness Veteran of the first war would be cool as fuck
What do you mean by, 'No faction escapes this curse'? XD
Hey Votann are getting like a singular novel
non-space marine novels get this dumbass treatment too
It simueltaneously makes looking books up easy and hard.
and Drukhari got a singular novel
Truly, marvelous.
Sure it's like 100 pages long, but they got a novel
they do it fucking constantly i hate it so much
a novel about Krieg?
Love my boys of the Lords of Silence
There is some
Can't be like Krieg: ANYTHING ELSE
The last set of Eldar books for example wrapped up in 2011 unless I'm missing something.
Dead Men Walking was cool
Down amongst the dead men
Black Library is fucking allergic to letting writers explore anything but Space Marines it seems like.
We're lucky to get Guard novels and the occasional Inquistor.
This is the most recent Deldar book that came out this year, but like I said it's short
I saw that
Give me fucking novels about Psykers.
Or Arbites Lawmen, Imperial Navy stuff, Stuff about life in the hive cities.
There is one about nurgle that told you the life of the hive city
Lies
Not the 50th novel about Captain so and so of the So and So Chapter who grimaces and grunts as he lands killshots on the millionth orc in the thousandth last stand his chapter has done this decade.
As they desperately seek the Macguffin that could destroy the entire sector or reveal his chapters dark secrets or it's their Primarchs old jockstrap the Emperor gave him as a birthday gift or whatever.
And then the novel ends with 75% casualities as the survivors nod at one another and go.
"For the honor of the chapter and for the Emprah." As they destroyed the Macguffin because it was too dangerous to be exist.
Damn, are you secretly Dan Abnett?
You know I remember Abnetts Iron Snakes novel as being one of the most unique and interesting space marine novels? Dx
And Abnett wrote that shit.
And then he just started
fucking writing all the horus heresy books and I think my brain started to leak as I struggled to parse out what book fell into what part of the timeline and I had to read next to understand what was going on.
Good Space Marine books exist. But fuck man. BL needs to ease off from it and do something else.
I started losing track after Flight of the Eisentien.
And stopped shortly after because I'm not buying 50+ books whose reading order is like trying to untangle Christmas lights while drunk.
The first few novels were actually really good I felt.
Bro what if the Horus Heresy was called the Horus Freaky
And instead of all the primarchs fighting each other, they decided to throw a contest to see who gets the most d-
...
ducks
That's enough discord for today
what's your favorite 40k tank
mine is the leman russ because i lack originality
I guess the Castigator
I hate the new glass-panel on the immolator so much
the WW2 bomber gunner thing was great
Na
shut up
it's like they were given a rhino centuries ago and they've been upgrading it ever since

it deffo has the bling game won
Yea all Sororitas vehicles are just an upgraded Rhino
I fully expect when we get a flyer, it's literally just going to be a Rhino with wings
Or maybe a helicopter blade

Castigator? I hardly knew her!
BDSM-ahh name
The Kinkyinator was taken sadly
OH YEAH fuck you reminded me
I love how with the update they had years ago
they made the Repentia Mistress into Repentia Superior
hmmm curious

Dominator Mistress would have been a better shift
Literally barely missing anything
TBH the Repentia redesign was like one of the only things I didn't like about the Sororitas refresh
Any significance to this symbol? Is it like a specific campaign badge?
basically signifying hes an executor
its uhhh not much else i think
classc "skull in dagger means i kill people"
I watched the Ultramarines movie
lol
If only Dorn was back instead of the bluey smurf, we'd be winning hand over fist at this point ||no pun intended||
Like I completely agree with getting rid of the outright BDSM gear, but they could have kept some of the more stylistic elements of the Repentias design
Yeah fetishistic stuff is fine to keep but its only girls in the army
its easier to do with Hedonites when its like both guys and girls being skimpy lol
it looks less coomer
I mean more like the veils and skirts , like the new design has some of it but it feels less iconic
How are you supposed to fire at anything? >.>
The Emperor guides your flames, aiming is optional
Like the one of the left feels like a punishment, while the one on the right just seems like they forgot their armour
The righteous will be untouched, the sinners shall burn!
Like they're just wearing their PE kit
My only complaint with the new models was the bodysuits are great but they are bland as shit.
They REALLY should have kept the red robes ontop of them
best of both worlds
Yea I want a more covering design that keeps the iconic stylish bits
Boots? Maybe? I dunno it doesn't look bad. Just less red.
Yeah that
basically it has no highlights
when you are painting these all you get is like...
well just the bodysuit lol
How do you tech bullshit stained glass? :v
guys frostpunk 2 is coming in 5 days FYI
beats me 😔
yooo i love getting frostbite
Don't need to aim much with a flame thrower
Just hold down the triggers and burn
can't wait to get OIIIIIL
I mean. Their running into an active combat zone without their armor.
That's kind of a punishment that risks grievous to lethal consequences. :v
Yea, I guess I'm just missing the like ceremonial feel of it being a punishment

The Captain is dead...
Heave Lads! Hi Lads!
Because like this is just what we wore in school when we were playing sports
Some of the dialogue from psykers in Darktide would heavily suggest that the "beloved" that they're constantly yammering about is indeed the Emperor himself, is that right? If so, I find it hilariously ironic.
Feels less special
We dunno
There's like 4 possibilities
^
They're imagining it, it's an entity pretending to be emps, it's actually emps or it's just some random entity that we think is the emperor but isn't
Most point away from it being a daemon though because whoever the Seer is talking to legit wants to help him/her, the team and the mission itself lol
like even down to when you use the shield ability them saying its a good idea
It DOES sometimes act hostile against the other players but the Seer tells it off lol
Considering the GEOM's consciousness is like in thousands of pieces and all trying to manage shit across the Imperium I can buy one of them is talking to the Psyker
Also this yeah
its not impossible its a shard of the Emperor either
like we got canon example of Him talking to random ass people in books lol
well "talking" its mostly actual visions but yeah
I best like the idea that it's the Emperor, very much because it's very funny if that's the case.
Yeah it also adds up to all the "positive" aspects it seems to be conveying lol
I mean. The Emperor is a bit of a dick. >.>
Well yeah but his brain is also literally shattered so hey 💀
We don't even know if the Psyker is always talking to the same Shard.
One minute he could be talking to one of the more friendly/benevolent aspects
And another he gets one of the more dickish aspects.
I've completely forgotten how chill Ordo Xenos Inquisitors are in comparison to the rest of the Inquisition. Remember that one Inquisitor that tried to brand Ultramarines Chief Librarian as corrupted?
Oh hell no they are NOT chill lmao
they find someone harboring a xenos artifact they'll sometimes raze an entire fucking planet

Part of me really wants to see an alternative path of 40k where the Emperor is somehow revived. I just think it would be very interesting to see what would happen.
It'll happen at some point dont worry lol
Eisenhorn was a member of the Ordo Xenos
Hes more or less slowly becoming a god
yeah but thats Abnett being Abnett
where none of the books have anything to do with aliens
💀
Iirc its a Reiver/Vanguard thing
No less corpses that's for certain
Kind of a package deal with brutal visionary tyrants
So he's slowly becoming a god, and it's very likely that he'll find a way to be reborn or whatever; and it's either canon or widely accepted that the Emperium is going to fall apart at some point.
How likely is it that the Emperor gets up and just goes to reunite all the lost human worlds for a second time lmao
Abnett does seem to go.
"Okay. People actually need to LIVE in this godawful universe. It can't just all be a Grim Derp Theme Park ride for 160 pages where the average citizen is subsisting off starved rats and sewage before going in for his 18 hour shift at the Manufactorum and his 3 hour mass to praise the Emperor before getting spat on by the Priest and for the the Authorities to announce the daily lottery for who gets made into a Servitor and for the Citizen to get home for his three hour nap before his next shift and talk about how good a day it was before the Arbites break down his door to beat him as per custom because we can't let the citizens get too soft by having 'good days' afterall."
Folks like Abnett and Mitchell go.
"Yeah no. Humans have a breaking point and have to live in these places. We need to tone down the grim derp down."
I've always feared that if it's truly brought back to "life" whatever emerges from the throne wouldn't be what first sat on it.
it's weird seeing people paying rent and having lives in abnett books after reading other gruesome space marine stuff lol
Well yeah theres gotta be some calmer moments lol
then the arbites kick in and kill them
😩
18 hour shifts aren't that grimderp
tbh
a human can absolutely fucking survive doing that
they'll just die young lol
Someone’s gotta keep the factory going on the tiramisu planet
Does the warhammer fantasy have an emperor of mankind?
Also a god
the way 40k does lol
Not the same person
Oh
Karl Franz
Now granted he's very good at his job
and also a much less terrible person
And actually has a war hammer I assume
He fought 40K men before getting the Warhammer.
This dude as powerful as big E?
No
he's just a dude
Oh
Karl Franz is pretty good at fighting, a pretty good strategist
Do psyker exists in this?
The point is that some BL authors realize that humans actually kinda sorta need to live in the Imperium.
Too many Black Library Authors use their books to try and shock the audience with more and more grim dark. Because the audience is constantly building up a tolerance for gratuitous grimderp.
So their books turn into little theme park rides meant to shock the audience with just how fucked every level of Imperial society is.
Fantasy is, different
I'm just getting into vermintide
it sells how awful the imperium is
Tryna make connections
Too bad the vermintide world simply got wiped out
Basically theres a lot more a normal dude could do in Fantasy technically
Than in 40k.
Orcs in WHFB are also like really boring
and they throw shit at you
as in like literal shit

What the hell
My beloved U5 all dead.
they might have "lived"
And as they ratchet up the grim dark it increasingly gets to levels of fucking stupidity where it's not even remotely believable that the Imperium doesn't collapse immediately.

Technically we don't know
Gone, reduced to atoms.
again, read warhammer crime.
imo
its the best show case of the imperium on the average hiveworld
by far
Don't forget the other Warhammer 40000 from the Ultramarines movie
Be gay, do Warhammer crime
I forgot that was the fucking mcguffin
it literally was just a fancy thunderhammer
wasn't it
Because the Imperium is increasingly written as being dysfunctional to the point where the cruelty, callousness and Idiocy have to be intentional malice.
The Macguffin is technically the blank codex that's actually a warp portal
not really?
its gotten less awful writing wise
imo
The Warhammer is definitely there just for the namesake
Everything is so comically bad in 40k
fucking Necromunda
Everything just blows hard and I love it
used to be considered the average hive world
which like
GW stopped doing
because the average lifespan on Munda was like
22 years or some shit
Is Roboute even doing anything about the shitty state in which the administratum and pretty much all other sectors are finding themselves in?
Didn't he go into like a depresso
its really fucking hard when its 1 person
versus thousands of years of institutionlized bullshit
galaxywide
anytime writers try to do lifespans they're so comically bad
like ultramar being 30
Bro took a look at the state of the imperium and lost all hope
If even the son of the fuckin emperor himself can't change a thing then we're truly fucked.
I mean
Vargaunta's average lifespan is like a pretty reasonable 50 something lol
Fret not, jaghatai is going to save us
Rogal Dorn would've succeed tho.
Bureaucracy is bad on like, town levels
Imagine the monolithic level of bureaucracy the administratum operates
Is there like a non evil group in 40k
no
What about the tau
Not really unless you write one
Hope you like brainwashing
the Tau are a oligarchic hellhole
Better than the imperium
But that's like, a bar on the floor
To be fair we have imperium
the bar is on the floor
Oh...
And they're like 2 cm above it
Okay maybe a bit higher just on flat quality of life
Orks are actively malicious
Nah you're right
They're the only faction with no hatred
And very, very, VERY cruel
They just wanna give a good ol krumping
Exactly
Doesn't matter exactly who is at the receiving end.
the orks don't hate
They do what they like not out of hate or anything they just do
I don't thinks orks is evil
They do it because they actively enjoy it
^
Are there any emperor loving orks I wonder
It's a basic need of theirs, you don't get mad at humies for eating now do you?
I wish to stock up on corpse starch
They love him so much they can't wait to fight the 900 feet tall golden humie.
Hopefully they never reach terra and get disappointed.
Well if we can't get mad at people for doing what they need to do then we can't judge the Drukhari either
No fuck them
Not because of what they do but Becuase they're elves
But they need to torture you
its not a basic need to torture
the burny dance is not a need
its a want
orks do it because they find it funny to cover someone in gas and light them on fire
Well sometimes it is
Living in the moment
Please stop my funny levels can only get so low
They do a bit of trolling
Found the pointy ear
This is the most overdone joke and it doesn't even apply to Eldar and squats in 40k
its funny if it makes sense
smh
Ain't eldar elves tho
Get an original joke
