Yeha that
hehehe
you can have a party in the leviathan
Yeah apparently this and the Leviathan are different
Capitol Imperialis
It's called
They both look kinda dumb
But they're also awesome
If we are talking big vehicles that are actually cool
Mechanicum ordinatus is a good one
The largest one is like the length of two baneblades
I mean I actually like both of them in a weird way
There's also the cathedral drop pods sisters have
Got a full model too
Like if it was actually 90 meters tall it would look like a moving building
Which is what I think they were going dor
But since it's a miniature
Uhh
Ordinatus Ulator is straight out of a cheesy super villain comic
Ordinatus Minoris moment
We don’t have any full sized ordinati
I can see it working rules wise like a kharybdis
For some obvious reasons
Mostly because like
A normal ordinatus would be bigger then a warlord titan lol
I want a kill team board to take place inside one
Real
that'd be kinda cool
Kelbor Hal skill issue

The Ordo reductor custom building ordinatus mars in under a month just to dig Kelbor Hal’s mangled corpse out a fortress is like
I had this idea for a table top game mode where you have to capture certain objectives and move them inside a super weapon in the middle of the table
Peak spite motivating shit lol
the argument vs my Counter Argument ahhh moment
"Ah welcome honored Battle Sister. Welcome to my Cathedral. We are happy to serve the Emperor."
"Ah that's great. This place looks fantastic."
"Well we did want to make it contain even a fraction of his glory."
"Yeah. Sorry can we attach jet engines to it?"
"...I'm sorry what?"
"We will attach rocket engines to it, make it fly, and then drop on our foes."
"...WHAT??"
Once one of the teams gain access to the super weapon they are free to kill the opposing team
The twist would be you still have a chance to destroy it
I mean generally super weapons don't usually pan out so well
For obvious reasons you aren't allowed to destroy it in the beginning of the round
I'm talking about a tabletop scenario dingus
Is that a fucking city
Is this thing bigger than a fucking city
Hell yeah, it was my favourite part of the new trailer
Holy shit lmao

Imagine the sound it would make
Bro imagine living in that city and hearing it fire

It literally obliterates the small buildings near it when it fires
Reminds me of this Japanese short film
Lol
It'd take you a whole week to walk up the tip of that barrel
It was about a big red cannon
Yeah the one with the cannon
And city
Yeah
Yeah ik.
You could have the excuse that in the beginning it's currently being built
The Imperium send in their elite to deal with the airborne alien auxiliaries of the T'au Empire as tactical skirmish action in the 41st Millennium kicks up a notch.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/08/16/just-what-is-operation-hivestorm-find-out-in-this-th...
That's why the objectives are the key to make it work
But later on, once it's close to completion. Destroying it is on the table since well
"IF I can't have it. Neither can you!"
Memories:Cannon Fodder (1995)?
Yes
I saw a line art of it and wanted to use it as reference
So I could model it and commission a 3d print of it
You ever wonder if the Imperium had YouTube. Imagine the crazy videos that would be posted
"Climbing up my Hive City's gigantic cannon (It took 15 days)"

"Admech Unboxing videos: Archeotech. WOW!"
"Calling Malcador at 3 am using the Warp (HE RESPONDED??)"
"Hive worker gets stomach ache and gets a whopping 20 minute bathroom break, breaking previous record for longest day off"
@storm jungle
I hate this
Man I really need to write that idea where it's essentially an Inquistor going on a PC and watching YouTube
Of the Imperium equivalent
Basically I imagine it to be a combination of the Starship troopers propaganda news that are in the movie
And modern YouTube
Also I can easily imagine Gun Videos being popular
Hive workers wish they had Amazon warehouse levels of relaxation and stress free work.
"You get to piss in a cup? I have to pee my pants while working!"
"You get to piss?"
Like one of the skits I had an idea for was like
Okay so you know Forgotten weapons?
Like the YouTube Channel
Of course.
I was gonna have a parody of it with a Deathwatch Marine
Firing various weapons, including Xenos
Of course the targets are random criminals lmao
"Today we're going to be analyzing the T'au pulse rifle.
Now, despite being filthy, disgusting, brain dented, cobalt burping, mouth breathing Xenos. I begrudgingly admit that they make good quality weapons.
Of course they are not as good as our Forebearers. But they are pretty good compared to the standard Imperial Guard weaponry."
"Hey guys, Battle Brother Ianus here. And today we've got a really cool, 32nd millennium Terran autogun to look at."
ew
I also thought of like
A stream where a rich kid literally streams himself killing Hivers
In a Spyrer suit
But he acts like he's playing Fortnite or something
"Dude I just got a time wipe! Epic dub!"
"Joe...? Please wake up. I never got to tell you... Oh Emperor please... Just stay with me for a bit longer.."
"Oh there's still one left."
"You..." Coughs blood "If my words mean anything. I curse you. I curse your entire bloodline. I hope you burn in the depths of the warp you fucking piece of shi-"
HEAVY FLAMER ACTIVATES
"Can't have you swearing. It'd get the video demonetized!"
That's different
Ain't it?
I'm pretty sure shit like coco melon are still active
I couldn't help myself and watched the intro cinematic to the first mission in SM2. Its clearly inspired by Astartes. Very cool.
Sm2?
Space Marine 2
Contemplating writing a short story about a strike team carrying out a mission, just for the sake of doing it as a writing exercise and I have already hit a wall in terms of what name I want to give an Ogryn. Do I choose Gherg, Brokk, or do I go with something else?
Did you know space marine is about the adeptus astartes?
Cheese
Brokk works
I think they are referring to the animation called Astartes, and I can see how they got that impression.
Eh?
Oh right, yeah. When i said Astartes, i mean the animation lol
@storm jungle I heard the new Tithes animation has a ||female Custodian|| and the chuds are seething
gotta watch it right away when I get home from work
Lmfao
the tithes part 2 came out!
Im gonna check it now due to what Jerk said, was already gonna watch it but now i have to know
OKAY. YES
So much for "looking like men" btw, she looks gorgeous.
God speed troopers
that is a gigalady if I've ever seen one
Yeah i love how they didnt make her a supermodel at all
shes literally a greek statue lol

honestly what I was expecting from a female custodian. Imagine being a bioengineered literal golden war machine and you look like a thin supermodel
Yeah she still looks beautiful too which is nice
good work imo
Honestly yeah its pretty good
I dont mind marine slop when its done well, Ep1 was just boring.
Shes got the tough guy filter on
^
this is the 2nd episode atm
its super expensive looking so i assume it will be a short one
I guess i'll have to watch that soon
The only animation i've seen was "Plague Song" i think
Hold on friend I'll give you a Thingy™️
also warcom article:
I love how this entire thing is just a written essay-answer to all the people whining about this change months ago lol
they managed to spell Guilliman wrong
Like poetry
But yea people are whining too hard about Custards
Doesn't affect the games; doesn't change the overall narrative
Its basically a subject that doesnt matter for the sub-faction of sub-factions yeah.
"Muh retcons"

And so far it has been implemented in a good way as far as I can see
"I have valid complaints"
looks inside
Oh that's just sexism
This has happened a comedic number of times
It's not obnoxious inclusivity
I love how like
people suddenly care about Sisters of Silence
where was that for almost 10 years before?

In my dreams ans hopes

man I fucking hate that account
blocked and shat on ages ago
Same. I just had a friend share it 💀
I was wondering why a bunch of nazis kept following me but after I blocked him and his weird obsessed artist friend they suddenly stopped, curious
LMAO
That second image
I've reinstalled Darktide and I remembered the game was fun
Hey the itemization update is coming so it will mostly fix a lot of the problems
So at least the grinding aspect for weapons won't drive me mad now
They have hinted at some new difficulty related content I've heard
Which is great
Onslaught in darktide pls
I have to start running aurics again. The unending slaughter is great
I'm looking forward to this mainly just to get this over with
We can finally have real content after this
And hopefully with this update comes some balancing tweaks
I say that as fatshark doesn't tend to be quick on that
They did a good job on vermintide. I have good hopes for Darktide
At least they listen to the player's feedbacks
Fatshark does a lot of great stuff as much as it does bad, its the usual norm at this point unfortunately.
Oh fuck I can't wait to get home and watch Tithes
Its pretty good so far.
The overseer just lying to the psykers in literal metal hoods and that she cares about their safety is
I mean okay i guess she does from a certain point of view...

I played the lastest map (ice/mechanicus one) yesterday and I yeeted a mate with a barrel by accident in like the first 2 mins
If you think thats bad
the first version we playtested had like
Only so they dont turn into daemon portals lol

Haha yeah the start of that map is like running the gauntlet
The intro to the latest map gets nasty to fight in in damnation
I revel in chaos
Of course the barrel shooting experts know how many barrels there are in a map
These "accidents" makes me happy
High intensity RAAAAgh while theres a million gunners scabs and ragers
I'm trying to find spicy builds since I don't remember what does what in the talent trees
getting off that tram and the entire map just wants you dead

Best to experiment in teh psykanium first
some of the bottom tiers in classes get like super complex word and talent wise lol
man unlocked and loaded needs to come sooner
wasn't the luckiest on the draws but
i can finally turn this thing into the perfect weapon

yeah like i got a triple 80 and 76 on cleave
the stats are borderline perfect I just got hadron'd
I've been testing most of psyker tree. I have a good idea of what I want to run. I'll probably experiment with vet or ogryn next
And all these penances
I had a gazillion things to unlock
yea I really like both their personality lol
Love those shots.
the episodes themselves are pretty simple too but its like super high budget so i kinda get it lol

Quick little thing that i just found out from shillup. SM2 reviews go up in around an hour and a half
Im sure they will all be good tbh
so no need to really look out for it i think
the more honest ones will prob drop a few days after the game is out
I mean yeah but also cyberpunk reviews were glowing and look how that turned out
I think it'll be the 3 month mark that will be more interesting to see
New episode is so fine
Yeah its just good.
Tho her telling the marines to stand down was a nice twist from the uhhh
previous Incident™️.
this guy was actually smart, even if the decision sucked
Unless I'm tripping I'm pretty sure this is the first appearance of a custodes in an animated format made by GW right
Second
oh neat
I hope the series will keep up the quality
Not surprised
the quality for this is super high
every individual fur on that Sister's pauldron was moving from the air blast lol
i cant imagine it was easy to animate, and GW are known cheapskates
GW is prolly more willing to splurge a bit nowadays
how long do you think they will continue employing this animation studio and making these high quality animations and only making them all three episodes
Because pariah Nexus is also three episodes
Im gonna assume on-and-off
yeah that is a good assumption
Frankly even after the announcement I still dunno how I feel about the cavil 40k series
Ignoring the ever annoying cavil glazing, I don't feel like 40k works in live action
But to be fair, I don't think that is even set in stone yet
hes not bad but like
the cavill meatriding is legit driving me crazy
"OMG SUCH A GIGACHAD MALE DEFEATING THE WOKIES"
You know what I’d love to see? Variations of the imperial cult and cult Mechanicus that worship less common aspects of their respective deities. Like a planet who’s faith is based around the emperor in the aspect of the savior, and is unnaturally concerned with the well being of its citizens (as in very very basic, rudimentary human rights), with the logic being that without the faithful, they have no faith, I think things like that might be more interesting to explore vs the same old zealotry
Meanwhile Cavill IRL is just a normal dude
its hero worship of the worst kind
they instantly assume hes some weird basement goblin like them lol
It could be very well done, it depends, we shall see
Literally me
He’s very chill
I love celebrities who are just straight up average people
I just hope its above average
As much as I'm cool with a chill actor, I wouldn't call him an average dude
Im gonna laugh if they hyped it for this long and it just turns out to be some short but expensive animation.
I don't like to label any celeb as "just a guy" as they can weaponize it against you
See Dilara, Cavill wasn't happy with the Witcher(because the writers sucked) so he must hate all diversity and women because he's that based
man i love fiction
and he simply of course didnt leave because the entire show is just shitshow
no it was the females...
😭
It can be both
I wanted to watch it
well, comparitively
I hope its average
But when I watched it with my mother she just went "what is this game of thrones bootleg lookin ass" And we just stopped at one ep lmao
Well, Game of Thrones was a cultural touchstone at the time.
Really, I didn't notice
But yeah in hindsight I guess it was a good idea to drop it
Before season 8 completely obliterated the show. It's honestly quite impressive.
It's sad because a lot of fans I know right now just feel empty
Too tired of Georges nonsense to care at this point
It pretty much changed the landscape of television yeah.
and tbh i really dont care enough about George to cry about "no book", i like the world and the stories present in it. I couldn't be bothered with anything else lol
Excuse me but that was Breaking Bad smh
BRAVO VINCE
also no that was the Sopranos
if Tony didnt exist so wouldnt WALTUH
Gabbagool
Breaking Bad was a great show
I've heard enough glazing for me to be sick of it
But it wasn't on the level of Game of Thrones in terms of impact.
lmao get fucked
get him vince
I need to watch BB
then they did it again but better with Better Call Saul
I haven't heard this much glazing since the island show
I've only seen season 1 back in the day
BCS is another monster all together
the winner does take it all 😔
He Is The One Who Knocks
both shows were amazing
it's rare that you dont see two communities of similar media shit on eachother
but both shows are just so good that they aren't compared in "better than" terms
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Doesn't Sopranos just end mid-sentence?
Bryan Cranston should play commissioner Gordon in a live action movie at some point
Like seriously
Yeah
what
Tony basically gets his brains blown out infront of his family
all the dominoes were set up for it
or doesn't
Mmh boy are you FAT!
Whoa spoilers

the thing i actually find funny about the sopranos is how some of the cast actually had shady backgrounds
family dad gets lots of money by criminal means and tries to navigate all the problems that come with it
Almost HALF the cast were from mob movies
Then he dies
if you watch scorcese flicks you can see them as extras
even Paulie, who was an actual mobster
no like some of them were actually in the mob
yeah
Yeah I know but Paulie's is the one that was actually in the mob
the others grew around that kind of thing
Scorcese himself too
its why they got that Wise Guy™️ vibe
The best mob movie is clearly hey good looking
no
What are you some kinda Wise Guy?
Beats scorsie by a mile
IM WALKIN' EEEEEERE
Hong Kong? Rip that cat.
He's for supper 😁
💀
And I don't mean- Ok I set that up pretty well but it was on accident
I meant more how communists kill pets.
Yeah, COVID-era China was wild
go back to Wu Han 💀
I had a friend how taught my father chinese
if i can do my white guy dissertation for a second:
i like the way both shows start. by the first episode of breaking bad, walter white commits not only meth related crimes but also murder, firmly putting him way beyond redemption to the law.
In sopranos, the first episode starts with tony beating somebody up, not as much of a crime as murder but it's done in such a casual way by him that you realize as a viewer how screwed up he is and how much bad he's commited in the past
He said his dad would kill dogs and cook em fresh
He said he did cry when it did die
Changed his mind when he ate it though
The first episode of the Sopranos was also way more experimental
I forgot mainland China and South Korea haven’t banned dog meat yet lol
breaking bad starts with a downward spiral while sopranos starts already at the bottom. both are good intros to what the shows eventually are about
As in they are the same
Starvation is a hell of a thing
Both feathered bald men
Nah this isn't ww2 silly
This is modern
Isnt it more of a western China thing than anything else?
I heard it was more the western kind of thing than southern or even northern
Yeah
People can starve in modern times too
It’s like west and central China
I see I see
Uh yeah but last I recall he wasn't in poverty
Im glad I never got to end up eating dog when I went to China
Also it’s only really popular among older people nowadays
Yeah I can see why
Then why did he eat the dog?
I'll admit and say I'm curious about it
China has a habit of eating weird stuff i will admit
Because probably hungry?
Same, but Id rather not go through with it
Me when literally any country in existence
They also make some damn good food
It's an overblown stereotype
Honestly visiting China must be a wild experience.
To be honest China isn't even that weird when it comes to the food they eat because like other countries exist
It was back in 2016, so less of... everything of today was there. I dabbed on Tianmenan Square
Lol
Very 2016 of you.
I imagine it's fun with how big it is
Of course it was very 2016 of me!
hey i'm a filipino man we eat Balut here
Only drunk people eat that dogshit
The people there were nice but social etiquettes are so different from the west
no it's actually quite a popular street food here
I meant more the cultural differences but, if you're from a significantly smaller country that can be wild too.
a bit weird but not the worst thing i've tried
China cheats for saying Chinese is the most spoken first language
yeah i mostly just drink the soup inside
I've lived the Philippines
Okay that would make it easier to down

Huh
They most consistently showed up in late night riding a bike in the street
this
But they're also trying to get rid of the other dialects...
With that stupid horn too honking in the night
just drink the soup
I’m aware
Which fundamentally will never happen 💀
Which is pretty standard for China, historically speaking.
Now that I know your filipino
isn't learning chinese literally confusing because of the differentiation on depending on where it's from
Good
Uh
I can confidently say
Mandarin?
Your countries taho sucks
The chicken dish yes
damn it
Lol
Indonesia has better taho
No. Bad.
But mandarin and Cantonese sound nothing alike
Lol
But hey
Same written language
The one upside is every Chinese dialect with a written form shares the same symbols
Teochew is the tongue of my grandparents
Otherwise they would just be completely different languages
And it's quite interesting to see the difference
Realistically yeah
There’s some stuff that sounds vaguely similar but like
lol
English has some insane variation depending on where it's spoken.
there's the translation of Fuck the duck until exploded that floats around
All I know is there are two types of English that are pretty common, UK and american
Well, broadly speaking sure.
Beijing also has a stereotyped/made fun of accent
Where they add an *er sound at the end of stuff
Which is funny
That's more due to the fact that for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, the r and l sounds are the same
no but like within the language itself is my point, not like
for English
like in Chinese itself lol
So when they learn English the kinda struggle with the r and l sounds
Which is why that add er at the end of it
yes
Yeah ik
I just like mansplaing

Also English is a fucking mess of a language
Objectively
which is really cursed to my brain lol
Chinese is too
So basically you go from one fucking overly complicated mess
To another overly complicated mess
With entirely different rules
And vice versa
Lovely
idk I can go into sterotypes about Chinese accents within the language itself for like a solid hour straight
Fuzhou accents are like short, and very casual, which has led to like a similar stereotype of them being "lazy" and slow outside of work lol
Beijing accents == angry all the time
look for every cartoon that did this moment
LOL
I can play the oriental lick on 3 different instruments lol
also the Taiwanese accent/style of speaking gets referred to as doll talk because uh
its cute
People like to make fun of Chinese accents, but to me a Vietnamese accent is probably the funniest
guh
Guangdong is another accent thats neat, its generally "fancy"/"posh" within the language itself
Whats Guangzhou's accent stereotype?
Nice
stuck up assholes
Hey my friend's from there!
I see
the only chinese dialect I understand aside from Mandarin is Taiwanese Hokkien lol

lol
oh yeah the grot would be lucky if it was a laser artillery
if it was a cannon however
Regarding this Taiwanese people get stereotyped as being like bimbos/himbos because of this manner of speaking
Which is really fucking funny
the shokk attack cannon technically isn't that loud
I now have the image of a Grot having like
I said laser weapons nerd now go back to reading nick Kyme books
A backpack full of signs
Lasgun wielding SMs being canon when

I mean they use las cannons
yeah space marine one literally has a las cannon as a sniper rifle
so it's canon they can use itSo it's Canon they can use it
lol
Already is
They’ve use lascannons and multilas for years
It contains both las and gun
^
Technically a las fusil isn’t either if we’re being pedantic
its a cannon
so no
shut up
https://youtube.com/shorts/Cbv7LxyK640?si=V9qn8VK3ilDyb1LE
“Aren’t you gonna try and convince me to come back and not fight?”
“Nah.”
Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio

Nuh uh
It’s a canon cannon
Fu-sil
All I know is I’m gonna be clapping some Nid cheeks with it come Thursday
They don’t speak French in 40k
So it’s 40k for fusil
Cannon is also Spanish for gun.
Don’t look that up
Hmm
I would translate it to rifle 🙂
I'll translate you to rifle
Go ahead. Do your worst
A few YouTube Channels who have Early Access to SM2 already completed the story, the urge to not click on them is driving me nuts
Pass me a link
im bored, i want spoilers i cant wait for 4 days
yeah i want to see what happens i'm bored
WARHAMMER 40K: SPACE MARINE 2 All Cutscenes (Full Game Movie) 4K 60FPS Ultra HD
HUGE THANKS TO FOCUS ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE FREE AND EARLY COPY OF WARHAMMER 40,000: SPACE MARINE 2
🌟 DESCRIPTION🌟
The game is set in the 42nd Millennium, during the Era Indomitus, the Age of the Dark Imperium. After the return of Roboute Guilliman, the Primarch of...
spoilers on the thumbnail guys, it has space marines
my bad
To be honest I can imagine some Iron Hands having like
Lasguns attached to their arm to get rid of the chaff and conserve bolter ammo for people who aren't, as they put it, WEAK.
Can’t wait for “character death scene” to be in my feed now before I can even download the game
It's impressive to me, how people are like buy's new game finishes the entire story immetiately
NOW WAIT A MINUTE, THIS GAME HAS SPACE MARINES?!
THATS SO BASED!!!!
You just RUINED my whole experience
LMFAO
And they just immediately upload it to YouTube like nothing happened
Like their arms just have like two Lasguns attached to them to kill cultists and they use the Bolter for anything actually worth it
It is simple
Just watch tiktok Brainrot like I do
Brain too mushy to get spoiled

Me and my monkey
I don’t care much, I’m sure it’ll have some cool spectacle moments, maybe it’ll be good.
Some reviewer was saying he got bored by the end but he also played on the easiest difficulty cause of course he did
Why even watch reviewers for any game
Also I hope SM2 is as good as SM1 at least
yes but ties are the shit
Fucking English major on his fourth journalistic choice who somehow can’t play games scars still
Like SM1 had really fun gameplay
Just read a part of the article
They should make a difficulty lower than easy: “Journalist” difficulty, none of the enemy actively tries to kill you, they just stand idle
I believe that crab souls-like game did something like this
They made 'journalist' mode where the character just gets a massive gun and kills things in one shot
The Cadians look so cool
Thats a thing already
MGSV chickenhead needs to be in more games
Man could not dash jump
How does that guy get into the industry?
And how is he still in it?
Whats that?
Uhh okay os basically
if you die too much in MGS5 the game asks if you want a chicken hat
it gives you this and 3 feathers on it
the moment an enemy spots you
they laugh at you
and look down or away from you, and wave that you can continue
yeah its fucking hilarious
if you die even more after that you get permanent chickenhead, where you dont run out of feathers
Wasnt a journo caught using it too?
Honestly "caught" wouldnt surprise me, its an entire headgear
hold on
Its very much suppose to be a mocking item on purpose too, I love it.
I wouldnt mind merch of it
the enemies laughing at you and pitying you is probably the best part
The chicken hat in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is only unlocked if you frequently and repeatedly fail missions or have difficulty in completing the missions. The hat grants you the invisible ability where you avoid being detected by the enemies. Now, you can have it for real but without t...
But you can't shame the players anymore! Think of the gaming journalist! He has a family to feed
so apparently active camouflage is theoretically possible
We don’t mock games “journalists” enough
dont ask me how i ended up finding this but in 2014 eletrical engineering nerds at UC berkeley made a synthetic patch that's flexible like skin and can change refractive values on demand
different refractive values are what causes objects to be the colours we perceive them to be
Of course its possible, it’s just expensive and if it can be made at big enough quantities
There’s also the idea of a suit with a bunch of cameras and screens which mimics its surroundings
But that obviously has other issues
the thing that really made me wow in the report is realizing that this isn't a source of light, it's literally changing the appearance of the light which bounces off of it
see i knew about that idea
but screens have the issue of being light sources
that recent invisible man movie does this
Yeah
and the girl hes stalking acts smart and does the classic paint bucket trick
thats kinda the issue with invisibility
so in darkness the screens would be counterintuitive
The most unrealistic part of that movie is that anyone would be that obsessed with Elisabeth Moss
Took me out of it
but this synthetic patch thing is crazy since it will become as dark as the surrounding environment
Good movie though
BRUH
but also yeah its a good trick on the trope without making him actually invisible
legit was creepy as fuck in a few scenes
and yeah as with any modern progress in microfabrication, it's a scaling problem
its that and just uh
actually its the problem with advanced weapons as awhole
its great on paper
then the moment its put into action something bad happens, and the entire system is deemed junk/useless
Expensive and, how useful in application?
Where the power source, how long lasting and durable is it,
How good does it work in bad conditions
it's especially true in the world of micro and nanofabrication since by definition it's stuff created on a small scale
which is why nanomaterials haven't caught on yet
god damnit i want my carbon nanotube transistors
Yea how useful is your $500 million stealth suit when the enemy camp is in a muddy field
Or the classic
Heres a million dollar armored vehicle
Me as a insurgent destroying it with a pipebomb i made with 5 bucks of equipment
Gotta get that energy shield skill tree done
one thing i really hope won't be a dead end is powered exoskeletons
lots of military companies have been working on that for more than a decade
I fucking hope mech suits became a thing while im still alive
The issue is always the power source
^
It already is
Predator missile
Once we get the power source small enough and long lasting enough then they’ll do a lot more of that stuff
the funny thing about powered expskeletons is they will help carry the power source. it's like an eletric car not being tied down by its battery
I dont think any soldier wants to wear an exo suit on top of his armor in the shit heat
Yeah
Well ideally it would cool him down too
from what i read the problem is more related to fine control issues
But that’s once again a power source issue
Thats why i prefer mech suits
Because of cool mostly
And when its in the military it’ll eventually trickle down to the civilian market
I want mech suits
Titanfall refrence
Me, constantly worried that we’ve skipped past mechs and power armor and go straight to drones like some annoying min maxer
the point is to make them able to march with more gear. knee issues are very common for veterans because they lug around a shit ton of equipment for miles
it's not a sci fi movie combat suit companies are going for
plus the ripple effects of this technology will be felt by anybody who has complete or partial loss of their lower body controls
which is based
Yeah it’ll be super useful for warehousing and other physically strenuous jobs
Yeah imagine being able to actually lift a car or some other crazy heavy shit
Also for like
First responders
Firefighters
Hell yes
Who needs ladders when you can jump off windows
Have a jaws of life servo arm
I just hope we get mechs in the far future
Its been a sort of feasable technology since the 60s
you know a big obstacle in this sort of technology is interface related

yet again another thing that will be improved by eletronic neural interfaces
There is another very obscure mech although it had no legs
This photo goes hard
yeah yeah i know that stuff
pathetic attempts at flashy tech that had no way of existing back then
That thing also did exist
Thats silly presentism frankly
Even then technically tanks are better for most situations
And if you saw the second clip it can walk on its own
Especially on rougher terrain ironically
But Mechas could be good on mountain areas theoretically
im fairly sure it was always kept on a suspended track
read the reports, it was NOT able to move on its own
Either way, its not pathetic
I mean that also goes for things like Space
Again, presentism
Half the stuff our phones are currently made out of was made in the 60's for the moon landing
i have disdain for useless flashy tech no matter the time period
probably something like the amp suit
Flashy tech has it's use to test the limits and possibilities
But in general yeah it's experimental.
It's kinda like how AI art should've remained an experiment
This was a legitimate project though
Less glass though so you can see the actors face
correction, it tests the limits of what the general public thinks is the frontier
so was MK ultra
Since technical wise, it's great for having AI recognize faces and shit
What the fuck does that mean
And make new things
just because it was a project doesnt mean it worked or did anything of value
MK ultra was a program that tried subliminal messaging to brainwash people along with drugs
It did not succeed
famously failed at its intended goal and only caused pain and suffering for no reason
makes me ashamed that the lead scientist was canadian
What does that have to do with making prototypes
Sure it didn’t have much application then but it funded more and was a step towards it
The US Government also had a program for researching Telepathy
It wasnt even just some hype tech
It also didn't net any results
It is a stepping stone for robotics
no it was not
and it annoys me when people say this
not all failures are stepping stones
Again
Flashy tech and shit is usually meant to push limits
some are just overall useless
If you don't fail then how do you know it is or isn't a stepping stone
Maybe a stupid idea isn't stupid
Half of our inventions were found by pure accident
No not really
From Chocolate chip cookies to Penicillin
A lot of it is just rebranded stuff but worse
True
Look at elon musk tube line
Basically I think it's worth to try out some stupid things
But not others
Like Elon Musk's Cybertruck
Should've been thrown to the trash

flashy tech is made for the public, not the actual field it's purported to help
True but having some possibilities in the public consciousness is a good idea.
Most dont even go past the prototype stage
Unfortunately it's also a bad one
Which is what it should be
Make a prototype
See if it works
If it doesn't
Oh well
There’s a clear purpose
Like yeah it doesn’t all work that’s how experimenting and invention works
i can give you an example of this kind of flashy stuff that's related enough to my field that i can actually call bull on my own but it's pretty boring
The Davey Crockett is an example
Literally a portable nuke launcher
That has nothing to do with flashy tech
When I was a foolish kid, I used to think that the Exoskeletons from Advanced Warfare were possible to make
The difference between protoypes and shit like that is that they still sell it anyways
Yesn't
It is
And isn't
LOL
mood
also post the meme
You can make something similar but it'd probably not work like in the game
I want MECHS
it's related to a bunch of gaming news sites republishing a discovery of a couple of engineers who found a way to increase bandwidth by an insane amount yet all it boiled down to was using the frequency bands which arent normally used in fiber optics due to having tremendous amounts of losses. what they made was just a series of optical amplifiers which obviously consume a ton of energy and degrade the shit out of the signal quality
Yeah its those types
Again I genuinely think that smaller battlesuits are possible
But unfortunately
Evangelion, Pacific Rim, or 40k Titans aren't
Which is
Sad
but all the news websites focused on the fact that they increased bandwitch by like 100%
it's stupidity at its finest
crimson typhoon moment
On the brightside
That is simultaneously cool and dumb
it looks like a metal slug boss
Actually you think some of the machines in like
The Terminator's future would be possible
like oh i just made a gun that can destroy a tank but it requires the energy output of a nuclear power plant. just a small scaling issue nothing much
I mean minus the T-1000's maybe
hehey! I remember this guy from Metal Slug
the hunter-killer drones and the tanks arent that wild
No exosuits, you'll have to make do with shoes that make you walk slightly faster while you're walking
Idk I think the tank tread skull crushers would be cool
Idk the official name
yeah thats the one im talking about
Maybe not this feature though
lemme look it up
found it
Hunter-Killer Tank
surprisingly grounded design lol
it just fires plasma ammunition iirc
Its the front of a tau tank with threads
METAL SLUG MENTIONED!!!!!
Was more talking about the first image
Grounded design is my favorite sci fi aspect, it looks believable, not out of possibility
I think the most disappointing part is that we never got a movie that takes place at that point in time.
Terminator Salvation took place in-between.
And T5 had it begin at the fall of Skynet
I LOVE THAT BOSS SO MUCH
And also both movies kinda sucked ass
the Rebel Army legit just went
THE HUGE HERMIT, YES
"fuck it, put a tank system on this giant crab"
Yeah that shit made an impression almost immediately
Me when metal slug boss i'm fighting is a giant exploited creature
If any of ya’ll want model kits in sort of this aesthetic, machinen krieger is a nice series of kits
Ngl I wish metal slug 4 was better as a game
And not like all reused assets
I really liked the game conceptually
Also tbh I always thought the next step to Terminator was just
A direct invasion of the past
Ike fuck it
Take a shot every time you fight a metal slug boss that is an exploited animal
Just fucking send Mechas and shit in the past
metal slug acid death animation introduced me to rule 34
That’s like 3 bosses total iirc
Maybe 4
Start hacking the primitive sources to send nukes
Take three shots of petroleum
Like I know it's stupid logically
I think the funniest metal slug boss is like
But how awesome would it be to have a portal appear
The giant idol that turns you into golden coins
And then Hunter Killer Tanks start dropping into the past
Imagine somebody from the 1980's seeing one along with a bunch of t-800s
Come on it would be awesome
this is in a public arcade game
Oh man i hated fighting those mollusk creatures
I mean Samus Aran exploding managed to get past sensors
Japan is more open towards sexual stuff in general
But less open towards blood and gore
Acid death in metal slug 3 literally was only in one specific area
Right, now the chats hijacked by metal slug
