And other eldar can become evil
Okay, what about between the craftworld dudes and the exodites? Do they also fucking hate eachother, or is it a mutual peace.
Mutual peace
craftworlds also look after exodites
since exodites dont bother anyone
if they get attacked along with their Maidenworld a nearby craftworld of seperate eldar will always come to their rescue
same deal
If I'm an eldar, but don't want to live on a craftworld, but also aren't space-elf dahmer, what do I do?
What's that one female dark Eldar champion that asked if you bring me a worthy opponent I'll give you a great reward, then some dude got her a banana boy. And she rewarded him by saying well fighting me would be a great reward before fucking killing him
You become an outcast
OR
a corsair
Comedy
what was her name
Are there like space elf pirate roaming dudes?
?
Yes
Witchfinder please?
I mix up corsairs with dark Eldar a lot but they aren't the same, right?
Lelith Hesperax
Corsairs are a middle point between craftworld/dark eldar
mostly for the IRL player's sakes lol
Yrliet my beloved
Thank you goat
Pranked
they are essentially pirates of any kind you can imagine
some just raid, some raid and be sadistic about it
so... just IRL pirates tbh
you're making these guys are sound pretty rad I can't lie
If you read Eldar lore its pretty great
Yo ho
Now that i think about it there's only like three species that have prominent pirates
Humans elder and ork
Was bored as fuck watching majorkill talk about it
I don't hear much of necron pirates or Tau pirates
oh yeah also
if you meet a cool Inquisitor or Rogue Trader you can also join them as an eldar outcast if they arent a nazi about it
Tau Pirates be looting for the greater goodies
But humanity be like “we could take this chance to kill a chaos god, but I’d rather have another chaos god than xenos running free”
I see why some blooks don't like the Aussie but he ain't that bad
also absolutely gonna wank myself and post my corsair prince artwork
TLDR: Pirates of any species in any setting are badass
also observe the fox
Yeah but that god hasn't been born yet.
Humanity still less of a problem for the galaxy
pg 13 artwork
Very demure
Rogue trader is my favorite flavor of pirate, or maybe ork freebootas
Guy is fancy as hell
need
I’m talking about slaneesh
Definitely the dilara vibe
Artist doesnt like gore
who will win?
-10000 year old space pirate with extremely advanced weaponry
-10000 conscripts with flashlights
respectfully ofc
We had a chance to kill it
rolling my eyes rn
🤝
but pathological need
gore would've made it so much better
And a space marine was like “nah fuck that”
would've gone from good to kino
@sour hornet Anyway consider this your starting point, from here just go and read the lexi/wikipedia lore on them as you see fit
Who is she?
Hot gladiatrix dark eldar character
just had a book come out about her but shes a VERY old character
I swear to you god do you just have the innate need to give every single character fancy ass coats because like i'm pretty sure one of your rogue traders that has an antimatter gun has a fancy cloak
Did we talk about farseers? Cause it’s pretty core to why they do random shit
She is feet pix the character
onlyfancius the second

i love a woman who protects herself 😩
No?
is all she wants to do is find a worthy opponent?
I can cover it so dilara can do other things lol
you never need armor until you do
Yeah ill be back i gotta eat dinner
Eldar psychic thing?
So farseers are eldar following the path of the seer, to try to divine the future, farseers are the ones really good at it. They look into the warp and the different skeins of fate to see bad things coming and help their species avoid them, and figure out how to best move forward with losing the least amount of eldar lives
Unfortunately there’s a bit of a butterfly effect, so the eldar are known for being pretty wishy washy, like one moment they’ll be helping you fight a chaos threat and then the next they’ll slaughter the entire population of the city you live in so that further down the road they can recover two (2) eldar spirit stones
Okay, so I can see how that makes them a slight pariah. But does it actually end up working?
Or do they get screwed repeatedly because of random shit they couldn't see coming?
Sometimes, fate is unpredictable and isn’t read easily
unless you're tzeentch
It makes it hard to ally with them
Also they’ll kill people who have a chance of causing harm to them in the future, even though that’s just one possible future
good excuse for why tau dont ally with them
Its also hard to feel sympathy when the people they do this are basically usually nazis.

Oh for sure
But the imperials aren’t totally wrong to be like “I don’t trust the eldar”
though it deffo gets overused and sometimes done for no reason to actually good people because "random plot twist"
Eldar would never ally with tau anyways
Too proud
They’ll be like “aw that’s cute, the bugs want to be friends”
Ths annoys me
its teh same with any 40k trope
"lets go on this mcguffin hunt for a book plot"
everyone dies in the end
damn, im shocked
The Imperium making the Tau volcano stun-gun escalator comes to mind.
me when imperial character has common sense and is actually a good person
The eldar change their mind a lot, and on a whim
i saw a meme this morning of education level of different species with mechanicus being high school level and necron being PHD
it's bad
i hate it
i need to find it again
It’s my favorite mechanicus example, they can either be super logical or be like “fuck it, let’s throw em in a volcano”
"They started treating me like a human being. Must be up to something nefarious"
Fr
Yeah its also no surprise kinda hard to read the future.
Its kind of similiar to that one parallel universe theory scientists IRL made where any single action down to whether you decide to stand up/sit down or grab/not grab some tool creates another possible universe
OR LIKE HOW
DR STRANGE
DID NOT JUST DECAPITATE THANOS WITH A PORTAL
FUCKING MORON

Mechanicus are tier 1 helpdesk guys who still operate off superstition
they also consider Microsoft Clippy as a abominable intelligence
And god damn if I don’t find it funny
It’s a cool trope
I don’t see many theological technophiles
you know damn well they would have won without this guy
It’s interesting as hell, and I enjoy playing around with it, but I’d hate them irl
Hawkeye type ass
yeah its when they can literally kill you for disagreeing with them where it gets uh
problematic
The Imperium just kills you, 95% of the time.
They fight each other over differences in belief lol
Hahaha
i hate it, thanks
I like the more moderate mechanicus

Who are a more tolerant logical
True
can we just take the time to appreciate that the person who made this doesn't know the difference between a PHD and a doctorate
Im smater than you
Also swap deldar and eldar
The dark eldar don't have farseers(?) so how did they avoid being wiped out by bullshit?
The webway?
that and superior tech
yeah because we're worse
By using bullshit
Dark Eldar get withered by being the way they are

also votaan being higher in education than tau when they literally consult a 100000 year old computer for their dtuff
Dark eldar are the ones who caused the apocalypse and still havent learned their lesson
^
psychics of any kind are outlawed in Commorragh where they reside as well, its like THE only rule everyone abides in the city
Like literally paying a scientist to revive you and recover your soul, cause they can just do that
tau are one of the only races that actually understand its tech
because they created the manual
humanity just found the manual
From death?
Yup
Like destiny style?
Still not sure how they do that
and they have become so psychically sensitive Slannesh that warp induced teleportation is one of the greatest ways to torture them
They grow a new body and recover your soul somehow
Anything can be done with enough slave torture
I'm a software engineer with a bachelors degree and I very much relate to consulting ancient texts that make zero sense to make sense of someone else's code
Somethingsomethingpain
So as long as you can pay the fleshcrafter, and they don’t betray you, you’re good
This is why I relate to the Mechanicus
it's called string theory and it's currently in the process of being shit on by a large portion of the scientific community for not giving results for 30 years
thats GAY
The forbidden lands of stackoverflow
You relate to the volcano escalator dudes?
you do know his name right
it's in his blood
Me going back and forth through the warp for no other reason but to fuck with marhazai
Mechanicus are more relatable in their "ancientness" approach to things, not their uhh "actions"

Decrpyting comments written by some guy trying to just get his work done
In the sense that tech makes no sense sometimes and can be temperamental and sometimes feel like it has its own personality
Okay fair.
like people call them making that one strider-bot they got run on a treadmill forever dumb, but IRL we got a literal ancient lightbulb we never turn off because we are afraid it will get damaged otherwise
And yeah, they’re in my top 3 factions, what of it?
Consulting the ancient reddit STC for knowledge of a problem I have that happened to someone 5 billion years ago
All the factions I like are awful
bro if you think the volcano thing is bad
That’s what makes them fun
I think all the factions are awful lol
Orks, Mechanicus, and necrons
no clearly the humans are the best
It’s the point
Ooh, can I join you
True the imperium gets stuff done why cant we be like that
ORKS KILL AND EAT CHILDREN FOR FUN SO THEY'RE RIGHT
Thats FR##KING GAY
Smartest “40k isn’t Satire” fan
At least the imperium shifted their hate outwards
I would totally be 1st company captain of my homebrew space marines that isnt like the 9000 other ones out there
If only we lived in the 40k setting
Lmfao
thank god someone remembers this lol
they're super independent thinkers but they also fight exclusively for the imperium 😃
If I'm going to become one of my OC's I'm going to be going to my age of sigmar ones
Worked to death in a factotum go
Anyone can be xenophobic. 🗣️🫵🤝
Bug lovers are man lovers
You probably won’t even get to be in the guard
They also have relics up the ass
Are you being serious?
Necrons are the robot guys that are asleep, right.
it's lore accurate that they exclusively use dark age tech
yes
Some say they are descended from the lost 2nd legion
the robot boyz
Which is why theyre so unique and not like the other chapters
I do appreciate the “I don’t care who you are! Does your index finger work? Good! Now get on the wall and shoot those fucking carnifexes!”
Ooh ooh I love talking about my funny robot skeletons
Aren't the mechanicus also robots? Or are they like 0.16% flesh somewhere?
Most imperial fans assume the Imperium doesn't harbors these feelings humans literally had since the dawn of time.
At large of course they genuinely dont, on a personal/mob level however yeah no it still exists. Like how "no one would be homophobic in the Imperium" when that one warhammer crime book mentions how no one in the planet they are on would care about his brother liking men but if it was somewhere else he'd absolutely get lynched.
Hadron has some flesh, but Kayex seems 100% robot.
also the met every missing primarch at some point
and the emperor
They have to keep they’re brain or it’s heresy
You need to have flesh to be considered admech, even if its just your brain etc.
You cannot be fully become a robot
thats heresy
Word of the day: it depends. 😁
If you do it’s abominable intelligence (AI)
That’s what I mean
there was girl in a tribe that was so good on her job but the man didn't even accept her, but when she became a Titan pilot and she literally was one of the most skilled to have ever lived
Kayex is just a typical Welshman tbh
Olesya techpriest
Don't talk about our beloved like that
hadron hates her job
Are there mechanicus guys who don't listen to this and chrome out completely?
Oh yeah one more thing about eldar before I get on necrons
yes, cawl
but he has human soul
“I have been an operative for many years, I have been angry for most of them”
And other radical tech priest that we wont bother to name
He’s probably got some brain in there
One of these days I'm just gonna get on dilaras nerves too much and get sent to the dark cells
Cawl still has flesh bits... and clones, but he doesn't call them clones and gets away scot free about it.
i doubt it
cawl just does whatever he wants
He’s still semi safe though and doesn’t do completely idiot stuff without reason, I love him
This dude is sounding a little unhinged?
it's never made clear what AI is in 40k anyways. it's some sort of soul thing
Cawl's also like not really totally Cawl anymore
also the other day i learned that it's called silica animus which is funny
He just fucks around and finds out like a real scientist
He’s cawl enough
Making clones? Fully robotic? Sounds a tad evil
Because whenever he finds someone smart and interesting enough he merges his brain with theirs
More cawl than anyone else
Those are simulacrums totally different than clones
the imperium are not the good guys
Like he's merged his brain with dozens of people at this point
You're neat
violently fuses with them
Just start talking about how the imperium of man is a good and righteous faction we should emulate
Okay that sounds heretical
Nah he’s a chad, he’s the only tech priest doing real innovation
You should see the 40k universe, i heard people there are pretty evil
I mean evil by Imperium standards
The best part is his brain isn't big enough to store all the data, so every so often he has to comb through his own memories and delete the unimportant ones
Oh it definitely is, but he’s good at logically reasoning it out to explain him self, and he does good work, as much as the authorities of the Mechanicus dong like it
the only difference between chaos and the imperium is who they worship. both are extremely evil
Like making clones willy-nilly sounds heretical
Yea Cawl's kinda got a pass on it
Because the Emperor literally looked at him and gave him a "I can do whatever I want" card
Well you see the imperial creed is the best way to run a government. It's not the lower people's duty to think that's the duty of the higher people with the best most pure genetics
He’s actually seen the emperor, technically speaking
If I remember right, the Cawl personality is still dominant and will absorb lesser minds. His childhood friend is remade over and over just so Cawl has someone to talk to, very human vulnerability that has been exploited before too.
The Emperor?
Yep
This is true
How fucking old is cawl
Cawl has been alive since before the Heresy
Dan abnett character moment
Very
main character type old
He’s funny though, I like him
How tf is he still alive?
Replacing his parts
Most tech priests are ancient
Do mechanicus guys normally live this long?
He was alive during the heresy
he set out to conquer death
"Not-clones"
not really but some live pretty long
Cawl "inferior" haha
Dont put cawl on a 30k table though, or i’ll punch you in the throat
He's much more ancient than others, before the return of Guilliman a lot of his work was basically done in secret bidding his time
aka he was in lore limbo until GW needed primaris
Guilliman gave him a job to do, so he was just quietly doing it for 10k years until Guilliman returned and said "It's time"
Cawl more like caulk
Look at this guy and I think the question answers itself
He’s a monster
But he’s my monster
I love how he’s actually open minded to an extent
He played chess with a Necron and won
Other major tech priests end up really liking the stuff cawl makes and has brought forth. He brings results, therefore they pass on his more ...open secrets.
He’s also trying to un fuck the galaxy
I mean, normal mechanicus guys also look like they've had sexual relations with stacks of metal piping so telling age is a little difficult
Which most people like
theres about as many that hate him
No but he’s way above and beyond
Actually no
He’s just near the top
Cawl is also the only tech priest to be able to say "I innovate but I do it right" and be able to back it up
Cawl has a super bussy
admech are even less cohesive than ecclesiarchy
Ye the Emperor looked at him and went "Keep working, even when you feel like you've betrayed me and everything I decreed, keep going"
He’s unique in his age by most ad mech standards
I think men of iron have “souls” from the one in blackstone fortress
Do mechanicus characters even perceived time the same as other mortals? How does he even have a soul? Is he even the same Cawl as the one that lived 10k years ago?
a few of those ended up being dark mechanius in disguise and their plan to expose Cawl's heresies didn't work. They were jealous!
Don't they worship him anyway?
He is the omnissiah, so that would give Cawl carte-blanche to do whatever he wants.
Oh btw @sour hornet I forgot, one of my favorite eldar stories is a farseer protecting a random rogue trader from being possessed by daemons cause he’s a powerful psyker and didn’t know it, in exchange for helping them get a relic from within the eye of terror, when in reality they wanted him unposessed to possess him themselves to prevent their death, now he’s a prisoner in his own body! But one eldar lived so it’s cool
Pretty much
But there’s no record of it
Besides “I said so”
But I think most would believe him
Yea, plus it wasn't even technically said to Cawl and only Cawl understands that it was a message to him
Thats not how politics work!!!!!
It was said to a guy he subsumed

rogue traders only have their rights because they all have a single 20000 year old piece of paper signed by the emperor
It's kind of an Assassins Creed moment where the Emperor was talking to someone in the past to give the message to Cawl later
Yeah
Because Cawl would later merge his mind with that person, gain the memory and understand it
While the original person was like "Huh what are you talking about Big E?"
Big e:don't worry about it
.
which book/story was that one?
The great work I think
Why couldn't the Emperor just tell him straight up. Is the Emperor just an esoteric wierdo 50% of the time or is it just me?
One of cawls 3
Emperor is a busy man
more like 100% of the time yes
Wait cawl has 3 books I thought it was only great work and gene father?
remember the heresy started because he didnt talk to his son
I'd fake this and become a RT
No he has 2
He is
Ah
just no announcements yet
you'd get killed for being poor anyways
yeah genefather is literally a setup book
tasking him to go that one necron planet stuck on the event horizon of a black hole
Next book gonna be crazy
Okay, what if I was a noble, could I fake it then?
No
Just copy his handwriting
Horus was a big boy, he should have been able to handle it all.
rogue traders are unbelievably wealthy
Yea RT's could literally just rock up and buy a planet and it wouldn't even hurt their budget
couldn't handle the sword thrust in him could he
Really though that trial of cawl has to be one of my favorite 40k moments
Me too
Also I really should write that Necron story that keeps popping into my head
He just explains himself well
Should have been Sanguinius being warmaster, he could've handled the sword. Sanguinius was the best of them.
Would it be easier for me to become apart of said RT ship and steal the writ out from under her?
sanguinius would have fabio'd his way to the chaos gods and told them to fuck off
No
Also Cawl has a soul bc it’s tied to more than flesh
It's be easier to get adopted into the family and usurp the title that way
Stealing a writ is an uh, interesting idea
I also want more trazyn and orikan.
if you consider going to war with a private army that has more weaponry than the average planetary defence force to be easy, sure
It's not exactly pocket sized
And that's one of the smaller ones
Yea you can see it loops around and keeps going along the back
The chamber holding the writ is also guarded up the ass
Yep
keep in mind that rogue traders have thousands of people who's sole purpose is living and dying for them
those automated turrets murdering all the cultists
Yea the crew of a RT ship usually view the universe as:
God Emperor
Rogue Trader
Everything else
You'll also have to face some Dark Eldar trying to make an easy steal of the Emperor's blood on the writ. If it's even a real one. They want their own webway golden throne and need the only psyker around to power it.
I have grit and ambitions.
Let's see how that gets you in an shallow grave
I don't think adoption is a legitimate option when they have legions of men and women jostling for the suitors role.
Yea I'd like to see your grit and ambition hold up against an Arch-Militant who's somehow duel-wielding Meltaguns
An arch what?
master crafted meltaguns
Even servitors have souls
that can melt through a baneblade
because RT armies get the best of the best equipment
Arch militant is like the rogue traders chief enforcer or something
Oh okay thats a big gun.
Their best fighter
that's just a bolter
Pissing of an rt is only marginally better than an Inquisitor
Arch-Militant, imagine like the best soldier in the entire sector, then taking them and giving them another 10 years of training, 30 years of experience and the best gear in the galaxy
i'd say it's worse since a RT will be way pettier than an inquisitor who has stuff to do lol
?!?!
It's huge
Okay, my plan may have not been thought out properly.
It probably depends
I mean a rt will likely just kill you but an inquisitor will probably have somebody torture you
I say both have very little to do most of the time since no one checks on them
murder a commissar instead
much easier
and depending on the regiment you'd probably have support
Theres a literal rogue trader in canon who literally won his Warrant from a poker game with a sector lord
never think your ideas are dumb when its 40k

Shhh
bruh that's dumb
You can also just get one by knowing the right people
^
The RT in forges of mars forged his but the Mechanicus just doesn’t care
Or be good enough at espionage to blackmail the right people to get one
being a rogue trader is a lot of things yeah
Well that was a bit more than knowing the right people that dude had the high lords ear
Cause he’s actually good at it
Yeah but its still a thing
That was an exceptional case, but yeah
There’s lots of ways
its the galaxy, anything can happen
knowing a high lord personally is a bit more than just having good contacts from college
We're so back, thank you Dilara! 🗣️🤝🫵
a sector lord is different
its not just them that gives the warrants out
Sitting at the space dmv for 40 years just to get your pilot license
🤝
Generally the main thing is faking it would be easier then just trying to steal one, but winning one officially?
That’s a way to do it. But you’d need proper recognition from the house holdings if you wanted to take over a house.
Faking one sounds even harder, with "winning" one you at least got one thats literally legit.
again you'd have to also fight your way to the top even if you pretend to have one and people believe you
you need resources to survive as a RT
You have to fight your way to the top even if you are a noble
Faking one would require you to know ever single security seal and stamp and forge it exactly
its not different here
There’s also stuff like a governor selling his world to buy favor to become one
^
But basically yeah essentially it doesnt matter
this entire universe is built on plot excuses
just come up with a viable one
and not just uh
"i found it in a dumpster"
no, eversor assassin upon you dilara
So if I was I noble I could do it by fucking over the rest of my family and selling their shit?
I would say don’t make it too complicated
Yeah just do it in a way that makes sense
I guess
Entirely depends on execution
Trust 🤝
Tbh they have lots of origins for houses in the game
Just use those
with the power of imagination
40k Rogue Trader? Go figure
My dad works at the administratum
Let me see if i can get it
your dad killed billions
its only like 3
and its the usual shit you see in fiction
"family disliked me so i left"
etc
(he misspelled a word)
immensely relatable
He put in VI instead of IV and doomed a planet
I'm immersed already
woops there goes the 1 billion units of yearly rations
some other world will be very happy though
(they're all sent to a death world)
Accidentally sent an ig regiment to a necron tomb world
that's not an accident it's a tactical miscalculation
The plot of winter assault
we will win against the necrons by doing the same strategy for the 10th time
they wont expect it this time
“Good old orbital bombardment and artillery strike, that never fails”
that time valhallans were sent to a desert planet
@sour hornet I can go into necrons now if you want
That would be fitting
So necrons we’re originally a race called the Necrontyr that because of the sun on the planet they originally came from all have genetic space cancer, and even with their super advanced tech (most advanced in setting) could not fix it. They also really fucking hated the Old Ones, and the other races they made, like eldar and orks, and their war between them was called The War in Heaven (this is the pre setting war dilara talked about), this war really was going poorly for the Necrontyr until they discovered strange energy entities that survived off of literally eating suns, they saw these as the gods of death they worshipped, the C’tan, and figured out how to communicate with them. One of these C’tan, now known as The Deciever, made an offer to the king of the Necrontyr, it would give them the knowledge of how to solve their ailment and defeat their enemies, and the Necrontyr would make them physical bodies and serve them.
you know i just realized how funny it is that 40k rules are only in imperial even in countries where inches are never taught
This “solution” was Biotransference, a way to transfer their consciousness into bodies made of Necrodermis, a material that repairs itself and can be revived using their technology, granting the Necrons Immortality, and superiority over their enemies. But it was a trick for the C’tan to consume their souls, and to have a race to serve them, the Necrontyr, now known as Necrons, didn’t think of the downsides of this process, they were now cut off from the warp, as they had no souls, and all but the higher echelons of necrons were mindless automata fit to only serve their lords, since only the highest ranking necrons received bodies capable of confusing all of their personality and consciousness
Also the minor issue of their minds not being altered to fit their new bodies, so necrons regularly feel the need to do things like breathe, even though they can’t anymore
Well, that's fucking horrifying. Did they at least kill all the old ones?
I see Eldar are Orks are still around, so they lost that fight
But wait, it gets better (worse)
Orks are a devolved version of what was around in the war
krorks
And eldar aren’t doing great
Well of course what else would it be, anything else would be heresy
Why are they devolved? Did something do it as a "fuck you"?
Nah just over time
They ran out a good fights
They used to be a lot smarter and higher tech
not explained
Now they just run on an instinctual level
that's the real answer
Built as a weapon but with no one to wield them
A weapon? Like a "drop em here and let em loose" type weapon?
Like a warrior race
To kill their enemies
the type of weapon that never stops fighting
Eldar were like artisinally crafted pre war, Korks were quick and dirty because they needed troops, much thought probably wasn't given to their long term stability
That is a fucked thing to do to the sapient species you created
The eldar were kinda that, but mostly were made as an experiment or art piece
don't worry orks love it
They are unironically the happiest and best off race in 40K imo
The thought was probably "Hey there's long term instability to these guys, but we can fix that after the war"
also old ones maybe created humanity that's not clear
They seriously don't care that they're discarded weapons?
They're basically a self replicating sentient fungus
All they know and remember is they was made to fight and win
All they need to know about how to fight is built into their genetic code
I think there is a passage where an Ork remember his genetic memory from.the time of the war in haven and is disgusted that what became Grots used to lead them.
“Orks always win, cause we’z the bestest! And if we don’t win, then we died fighting, an’ we can always come back for anuvva go, so it don’t count!”
So the way they were artificially created means they're literally always having a good time, whether they win or get blown to pieces.
The theory is Eldar were intended to actually be a proper race and inherit the Old Ones empire or at least function more and were shifted to war fighting while the Orks were just made for the war
Do they eat? Why are some orks fucking huge and others people size
Either way the result is what we got
Wagghhh energy
I’ll get to orks after necrons
They constantly keep growing througout their lives and the more they win the faster they grow
They get bigger over time as they fight more
Short answer is they get stronger the more they fight
I mean the eldar are all high-culture, so it fits.
Okay, so the One Ones are gone, so I assume the Necrons killed them.
The deal they made fucked them over like 3000%
They made it with one C'tan who was a fucking cunt
It's assumed Necrons killed them while under the control of the C'tan and then broke free and slaughtered the C'tan
Once they “won” the war in heaven (it was more of a stalemate) they realized their betrayal and their king Szazarekh, the Silent King, led his people in rebellion against their gods, and with their technology and force of will, somehow managed to shatter the Ctan, and shackle them, enslaving them as they once enslaved the necrons. At this point because of all of the large scale conflict, the warp was super hostile and fucked up (it used to be really peaceful) and the galaxy was getting apocalyptic and the necron empire was in bad shape, so they decided to take a millennia long nap in the “Great Sleep” hoping that all the other races would just die out and they could wake up and just claim the galaxy. But things didn’t go as planned, some tombs failed, some were destroyed, over time, things broke, many didn’t wake up, or woke up different than they went to sleep, many had fucked up memories, personalities, or just are insane
It was all ctan, just that one offered the deal
And woke up to all those races still being around and being even more plentiful
Bad nap for sure
They were basically just parastites, until the Deciever convinced thme they were gods and gave them bodies
So the few necrons with sentience still
yeah honestly he fucking sucks
Are varying levels of insane or eccentric
And I love them
They’re petty as hell too
imagine being a machine and still feeling the need to breathe and blink but being unable
absolute shitbird that guy
They try to settle old scores, kill rivals, take over territory excetera
question
Cause if they worked together we’d all be fucked
Oh also they’re still waking up
They aren’t all up yet
are the tomb worlds concentrated in one area, or are they just fucking everywhere and we just stumble on them by bad luck
They wake up, see life on their planet, and go “we’re killing you for trespassing”
Almost everywhere
The necron empire was massive in its heyday
Sometimes they’re nice enough to say “well give you 24 hours to leave”
Some dumbass digs up a tomb and activates it’s defenses which wakes up the necrons
And lemme tell you how nearly impossible it is to fight them as humans
The only reason people win in media is because of plot reasons cause a faction that wins all the time is boring
@crystal forum
Oh also most necrons don’t have emotions
Probably my favorite homebrew vehicle
-nids are only entering the galaxy
-necrons are only now waking up
-gazgul can come back any moment
-like 4 primarchs teased in limbo
-abaddon
-eldar in general
-tau are starting to expand
-votaan are only now starting to appear
the amount of edging in 40k
We gotta have everything in flux to sell models
looks tau
Its named after the original guy that came up with the idea
He made a plasticard template you could download
edgehammer
who?
Clouseaux
old school kitbashing vs single button press
I think the original idea was to make the rhino match the aesthetic of the land raider
that explains the side hatches
That reminds me of what i originally wanted to show
i love it
ngl i'll probably be mauled for this but resin printing is harder than cutting plasticard
getting it to work and not be poisoned
This is the lengths people had to go to for truescale marines back in the day
lmao
In hindsight all of this was absolutely deranged
There were people crazy enough to want true scale rhinos and land raiders too
so let’s just start with your average necron warrior, sure it’s mindless on its own and can’t do much without orders, but anytime you shoot it, it won’t do much unless it’s like plasma or melta, and even if it does you better fucking triple tap it, cause they will self repair and just fucking get up again, cause necrodermis repairs itself super fast. And even if you just manage to damage it to non functionality it will transfer its consciousness to the tomb it came from, and it’s body will teleport back there to get rebuilt and reuploaded, sometimes this process fails though, but usually at least the mind is saved, so basically an endless legion keeps coming back to kill you, and there’s tens of thousands of these at any given time. They have no emotion, no fear, they will keep marching until their lord says the foe is dead.
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/3dcd8c6d-ec2a-447a-83ab-cc4a2173a43d
i just found an image of what a truescale marine would look like
but this doesnt look very accurate
marine arent that big
in lore
It isnt kek
And each one of these carries a gauss blaster, a weapon that fucking disassembles you at the atomic level, and practically no armor can save you of enough shoot at you
Its absurd
apparently it's mostly torso to head size and stuff that it's representing
because yeah marines have weird proportions on tabletop
but i see a lot of people coping that "marines are much bigger than tabletop"
So what I'm hearing, is that unless you fucking smite them with artillery it's basically:
Imperium is boned
If people are still genuinely complaining about that in this era im gonna punch them in the nuts
And keep bombarding them
But wait there’s more
That’s just the most basic one
Bro WHAT IS THAT
Gauss blaster
That's like the weakest weapon the Necrons have
Ah the imperiums fine, 100% it’ll live through this fine
Just have faith in the emperor
“Faith will be my sh-“
im just curious as to what a truescale tank would look like since people dont seem to realize how utterly massive even the little leman russ is
I just saw my platoon SGT get his face reduced to lime fanta, I'm fuckin boned.
I mean the image i showed had a predator on it too
Oh and he also made a truescale land raider
People cry that guardsmen have shitty armor when most of the weapons in warhammer can wreck even a space marine
Lemme find it
It gets worse?
Then there’s immortals which are slightly higher ranking necrons with minor personality and Independent thought that fire fucking Tesla guns that fire death lightning that chains or bigger gauss guns
you cannot convince me that current land raiders arent big enough
I mean, guardsmen die to literally everything. I've seen them die to every weapon out there.
Someone get me images of necron vehicles
Their armor is fodder.
stop shitting on my guard
Flak armor can barely take a lasgun
But it ain’t saving you from a gauss flayer
Like these are just some of the handheld weaponry they carry around
That shit kills tanks
Technically they arent? But its stupid to make them bigger at this point, no vehicle in 40k is true scale, the mastodon is a good example of that lol
Ooh ooh lemme go into deathmarks
I do not want to get hit with the Synaptic Disintegrator
Necron weaponry is probably the quickest and painless death you can have
Doofenschmirtz sounding gun.
Only you'll die in utter agony
Like one of their weapons is just called the "Death Ray"
And a handful of Death Rays could destroy an entire Hive city in less than an hour
They eepy
Are there any necrons w/ an actual personality?
It's like everything in 40k, if it simultaniously woke up and unified as a single force it would conquer the Galaxy
Deathmarks are fucking super assassins with near full personality and independence, They have the synaptic disintegrators that literally disintegrate your neural tissue starting with your brain, you better fucking pray you die to it, if you don’t your a vegetable. And also on top of that, they can fucking teleport into a pocket dimension at will to almost anywhere at will. Necron lords don’t use them that often cause it’s considered dishonorable, cause it’s just too fucking easy
Yep
Like fully?
The Nobles and leaders do
They’re all funny guys
and their royal courts etc
And they all hate every other form of life
And they also usually hate every other Necron Dynasty tbh
They’re literally like “eww, the Vermin are trying to speak”
I really should write that Necron story

Zandrekh and Obyron my beloved, my favorite necrons
what does truescale even mean anymore like is it supposed to be some arbitrary size that "looks right"?
No more than any other 40k character
Yup
because if we're using a 40k geek's understanding of vehicles sizes that's a very bad barometer
APC's are not super spacious lol
To be fair, those guardsmen were insanely outmatched
This was a print a friend of mine did
This is his definition of “true scale”
That is a thicc boi
The termies are fucking obese lol
Unbearably rotund
Look at his stubby lil legs
Call him the 1 son, because he ate the other 999
I feel for this guy though
His boss was an overbearing cunt
@fallen plaza the BTR-60 is clearly not truescale, these soldiers can't stand up in it and dance around
Heckle the assassin while he's trying to work. Good idea.
Thats the sort of problem you run into with discussions on that yeah
here’s one of my favorite necron quotes:
“But… our souls, Zahndrekh. The machine… it could give us our souls back. It could give us our bodies. Please, lord, let’s at least take part of it with us, so we can know for sure.’
‘Oh, dear vargard, why do you hold on to such things? You must let the thought of this awful contraption go.’
Zahndrekh put an arm round him in consolation, and continued.
‘Let me pose you this thought, Obyron, in the hope it will bring you ease. What do you think caused you to hold true to me for all this time – despite all the power you might have enjoyed through betrayal – if it were not a soul? What can love, but a being with a soul?
‘Even if we all ceased to be flesh and blood millions of years ago, which of course I don’t believe for a moment,’ – Zahndrekh actually winked – ‘wouldn’t it have suited us better to live in denial of that, as some fools might say I had done? Wouldn’t it be better, Obyron, just to accept our fate, and enjoy immortality for the everlasting life of merry campaigning it has proved to be?’ Obyron stared hard at Zahndrekh, unsure of what he was hearing. ‘You old bastard. You knew all along.’
‘I knew nothing of the sort, old friend. But since you seem to be labouring under some delusion that you’re a soulless machine, I thought I should at least make some attempt to set you straight.’ ”

You can't even stand up in a Stryker without popping the hatch.
Thats fummelfingers stuff
Micromanagement exists in the worst possible timelines for all races
Sick Chainsaw man reference
please ask guard questions
they are the most interesting and fleshed out 40k faction
Why are solar auxilia so cool and epic and when will they come back
I feel for them, especially since they did all that fighting and sacrificing, only to end up in a worse environment than they left.
Sa'kan proving why Salamander's are the best bois.
Sa’kan deez nuts amiright
With only remnants of their culture and influence, living on in only ancient memories.
The Necron got fucked over big time
These show necron arrogance quite well
That’s why I like em, they’re just making the most of what they have, also zandrekh believes he still lives back when they were flesh and blood, “eating and drinking” and stuff, and Obyron is his faithful guard who keeps him from getting himself killed in his madness
Forgot to post this one
Salamanders are great though
New WH+ minis apparently
No?
But…but your post said WH+ minis…?
Oh that Marshal is really good
I probably inferred the wrong thing :p
They’ve literally just released a new inquisitor model
Well no you're wrong, they just released coteaz and have like 3 other inquisitors
This is just another one for WH+
when they get actual lore
He never said WH+ silly
I would absolutely believe they would hold model releases behind a subscribtion service
also warhammer stuff announced to come on prime video??
It’s a special model you get for subscribing for a set amount of time
There are two major solar aux characters, its enough
i can actually watch warhammer stuff??
Yeah
Where did this trailer come from
yes i know i saw the announcement
Ya boi
it was more of a statement
Secret Level
although fucking december 10
Take a look at the teaser trailer for the upcoming Amazon published television series, Secret Level, coming December 10th, 2024.
There’s some other 40k parts too like the start
It’s a series of shorts for different video games
That they okayed it for secret level is probably a good sign for the amazon deal
Comes out in December
Wait ok so that inquisitor model, I don’t see it on the Community page
Is it truly only WH+, or did they just get an early heads up about a new mini?
It leaked
We don’t know but WH+ has “free” minis they get
They're probably announcing them at Nova
Oh god its from the love death and robots team
This is this years one apparently
I expect mixed results
It's from Blur studio ye
oh it's just a shitty short story thing
Ok Jay
Ah ok I see.
And yea I would be much disappointed if that turned out to be a WH+ only one.
I quite like them
time to check if i can use warhammer+
But it looks soooo good from the snippets we've seen
Couple of bald bastards
Not for me, It is asking me to subscribe.
That’s what he means
I’m surprised Mega Man is seeing the light of day. But hey, at least I can watch a 40k animation without having to get + since I got prime
Might as well continue with my power armour based conversion then…
So we’re actually getting the Amazon series?
But yeah it comes out in December and features Titus
Please let it be interesting
We don’t know for sure yet
i can finally watch warhammer slop for the low low price of 60 usd
This is likely a testing ground for how well 40k will do on Prime
Its most likely a multi film deal
Oh gross space marine focus

I just want guard and xenos shit
Too bad
The animation team is Blur Studios right? They churn out some quality cinematics
Not the 900th space marine vs chaos
Yeah well GW wants people to watch it so
All of them are yeah
Good choice
Which is pretty wild based off their quotes you can look up from super short trailers
Nice to see
I feel like with most of the stories that come out from this are mostly gonna be mid
Just please don’t make it just space marine, I don’t wanna just see another show about “super soldier that isn’t very human”
it only took them 2 years to get access in canada
Cause fuck the halo show would have been a bad way for new people to get into the franchise
GW slowest moving company ever
I just want this show to be good for people to get into the setting and universe
It took them three total war games to realize fantasy was worth saving
The route they’re taking this in reminds me of Love Death and Robots
Poor Sister...
Look at the opening credits
GW wants this first major thing ever to be as successful as it can
I’d like an anthology series on prime
It’ll probably be mostly action
I’ve seen it
It looks similar to Astartes in style
I don’t mind as long as it’s mostly varied
And action is cool, just let us see other perspectives
Also, that assassin also killed Danica in a single shot, despite not being a named character
Synaptic disintegrators
pretty based of him
They’re not gonna show every faction
And she was at the end of her arc
It’s there to get people interested
And considering the interest already
It’s the same as space marines paying the bills so other factions can get updates
Probably good shit
And it looks fucking gorgeous
I trust blur studios.
40k geeks really need to understand how utterly confusing the setting is to people who dont know it
Also Blur probably have a particular interest doing space marines considering one of their earlier works
She realizes she’s a fucking schizo threatening innocent people and atones for it
Frankly speaking starting with a deep dive on some xenos is the worst idea ever, space marines are way more recognizable and marketable
As a bungie fan, I am a fan of blur, they're good guys, and did the whole of halo 2 anniversary.
I want the sheer non sensibility to be portrayed
Agreed. Astartes are the poster boys for 40k, despite some dissidents from others. If you want to get into the madness, they are the key
Take a walk down memory lane with us and watch the original Dawn of War intro, released nearly ten years ago. Fans of the game will recognize this from the start of the original Dawn of War game.

I’d love it if we could get a deep dive of every faction but this is literally the first major thing in a long time by GW like this
it's not a hard universe to understand it's just that the average consumer knows about comic book heros and shit but not fantasy stuff
I agree, I just don’t want it to be just their perspective you know? Like show some scenes from the xenos or whatever they are fighting’s perspective
And it’s probably big deal to prove to Amazon they’re worth investing in
They havent done anything this big since the ultramarines movie kek
A gambit so to say
It’s a 15 minute short probably
Blur are good guys
It’s also blur
Also the average fan is horseshit at explaining and tends to over explain with needless bullshit that doesn't matter
I mean in the future
Same
It’s a dream come true to have fucking about animating a long form short like this
I complain a lot but I’ll probably like it still
That looks like this
Xenos perspective wont help anything if its mid, it’ll just be mind numbing fan service
i hope it forces GW to start moving themselves faster than a snail on a treadmill if it brings a ton of people to the setting
Don’t need to start complaining about “But what space marines why no xenos or guard?” Yet
Just do something simple before you go fan service
Astartes or Militarum are the best starts
Oh also @sour hornet there’s a lot more necrons stuff but I got things to do now, look up some videos of the wiki
YEAAAHHH that is crisp. Blur Studios does it right
Maybe Inquisition to get a mix of both
militarum best part
We’re probably not gonna get a xenos focused thing for a long while frankly
I agree, you gotta start with humanities perspective
I mean I'm probably the least happy about it being marines but it also looks good so I can excuse it
Solar aux short
True
Lord have mercy am bout to BUST
believe it or not but most people in 2024 can relate to being forced to die for obscenely rich planet rulers
40k is perfect for us
True
I wouldn’t say most but like, a large portion of the audience
that's what most means
Another thing I’m happy about this series coming in December is Ghost of Tsushima as being one of its episodes, looking forward to that.
At minimum i want this to be decent
Me after watching the trailer
Im not looking for amazing unless its action
Spunk stain
it's going to be decent at the minimum
But it’ll look gorgeous
And 40k has always been better with style anyways over substance
Dont let 40k cook with religious themes ever again
people cooming over the 10th edition trailer for months
Ive had enough of sindermanns lectures for one book
It kinda looks like they just swathed through a glow worm cave
It’s got a nice built in fanbase and it’s pretty easy to market cool guys in power armor hitting stuff with gorgeous visuals
It’s Tzaangor blood
SECRET LEVEL is a new adult-animated anthology series featuring original stories set within the worlds of some of the most beloved video games. From the creative minds behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, each of the 15 episodes is a celebration of games and gamers. Games that inspired the 15 epic stories include Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeo...
You can see it at the start here
The only thing im partially peeved with and thats more of a a GW thing
Isn’t Tzaangors the models GW wants people to get but no one likes?
No firstborn rep
"AI is just as good as real art"
I really hope they can get the satire part across so 40K fans aren’t introduced to the larger public as Nazis
Only a minority of us are
And we don’t like them
ngl i just like shooting large guns
“War is bad” is like the easiest fucking message you can give to an audience, they’ll get it. Its not hard.
Same brother
Every big franchise has this one golden rule
There’s probably almost no firstborn Ultramarines left tbh
“You see that cool thing? Dont do it” bam, easy.
With their casualty rates and how willing they’d be to cross over the rubicon
what if the cool big guys shooting bolters dont have to be good

what if the media i consume is just for entertainment instead of reminding me of the great power struggle that will never affect me

But how does this relate to the socioeconomic struggle and classism we call face in our day to day lives in this political diaspora?

Lotta people nowadays prefer to tear apart “entertainment” in the hopes of finding a deeper darker meaning. When it’s just in here to enjoy it

YouTube essayists should all be shot
40k is satire inherently, but its also largely just to do cool wacky shit for the sake of it
rule of cool holds up the franchise
True
I fucking hate all of them
They are all hacks and they all hide behind semi well edited videos to try and hide there stupidity
Obnoxious thumbnails as well
We should make the mechanicus tau killing factory but for youtube essayists
i dont mind them but holy shit is their content low effort
this is a solution to many problems
Watching them with their stupid shoulder length hair and shitty porn staches
Do em like how they create Servitors in that one 40k novel
Or their dumbass avatars
i feel called out eternal
For fucking real, they all look the same
