There’s a somewhat tragic side plot of his friendship with a Luna Wolves Chieftain he had formed during the Great Crusade which came to head on Cthonia, where the Chieftain tried to convert him against orders to the traitor side and chaos. Garrius refused and offered instead for the Chieftain to join him. When the Chieftain Kovarny finally agreed, Garrius instead used the distraction to evacuation facilities and prepare for the traitor assault more.

Eventually the Chieftain would find him and Garrius would admit they could never the brothers again and they fought with Garrius getting wounded bad but eventually managing to throw him off the wall they were on, killing him.

It’s predictable but also kinda sad how much Kovarny obviously really wants to find a way to “save” Garrius and be brothers again only to be betrayed and die because he was foolish enough to think that was a choice at this stage.

I always found it interesting how a lot of terran born marines were looked down upon so much, there is a certain sadness to it in general

The original Lord Commander of the Imperial Fists when Royal was found was put in charge of Inwit and its surrounding systems for example

Shadrak Meduson and Amadeus DuCaine maintained their ranks and were in high esteem with Ferrus until he died.

DuCaine I think was the longest serving Lord Commander period

Since he was the first they had from their founding on Terra and he never vacated it until his death at Istvaan V

Sigismund also was First Captain, Kharn and Ahriman were similarly held in high esteem.

Kharn not being first but definitely Angron’s favorite

Minus like 1 militant craftworld Eldar dont actively wage wars of conquest or extermination on anyone unless they have to, otherwise they essentially live in basically paradise ships that provides them with anything they want due to being a post-scarcity society.

Their "evil" actions generally include anything that will protect their craftworlds from being destroyed like luring an ork fleet that was heading for them to a human world or killing some planetary governor out of nowhere before the Inquisition later realises the guy was a chaos cultist, they do random things for their own benefit but its hard to blame them when the reason they do it is semi-understandable compared to everyone else, if you fight them they'll just kill you/slice you up, its fast mostly and they dont take sadistic joy in the stuff they do. But this is Craftworld Eldar.

Dark Eldar are just dark elves, they stay in their pocket dimension in the webway within their endless dark city called Commorragh then go out to raid planets or do other cartoon villain stuff.

Exodites are wood elf Eldar who stay relegated to Maiden Worlds and never go beyond them or bother anyone unless they are outright attacked.
