then why can you put a commander in the leman russ and malcadors
open hatch
that's open top
Something meant to endure harsh environments doesn't mean you can't have doors gay
And also the commander you can just say is inside the hatch when you don't have it
Iron harvest looking ahh
This varent at least looks better than it's second one
yeah fuck the big shield one
"melee unit"
at least enclose the whole fucking cockpit if the pilot is meant to be in the middle of the fight
Okay
Here's the best argument for to be made enclosed
It probably looks cuter if it is
stumpy little box
i agree
it would be cute
but when it's open i can kinda imagine myself in the gunner seat
I could probably make one if I wanted to
like imagine being able to run around with a multi las
But I'm not even done with my regular troops
It would be if you could turn it
But it's like perma mounted to one direction
I could see it being fun if your riding it in those las Vegas tank riding shows
i imagine it more like being super far from the enemy and just pummeling them with las fire
literally like a more mobile heavy weapons team
Which is weird that it isnt
Let's just say this unit doesn't help with much unless your fighting other solar aux
literally the best combat unit the imperial guard has ever mustered vs 1% of an astartes legion's power:
the fact that they made militia a thing is still so fucking funny to me
a unit that's shittier than 40k guardsmen lore wise
going against astartes chapters that could literally fight wars with numerically superior infantry
exactly they suck ass
PDFs have the advantage of knowing the planet
So at minimum they can put up a decent fight
astartes have the advantage of BEING ASTARTES
Vietnam war
vietnam except actively burning civilian
So any lore explanation why the first born space marines are no longer represented as much anymore? Like were they all just replaced by the primaris marines?
It's a marketing thing
rubicon
They still exist in lore
they all transfered to primaris
even the ones who hated primaris
like black templars
(so GW could sell more models)
Ah, so irl its a marketing thing. In lore, they're still around, but probably outnumbered by the Primaris now.
My point is, astartes will still have a hard time with pdfs
most chapters just took the new primaris recruits and upgraded themselves to primaris since there's literally only upsides
Some survived the dark age more intact than others
fun fact some chapters straight up were dead when primaris arrived to replace them
so the new guys just had to assume the position
Cool; but Terminators are still terminators right?
Primaris can still wear termie armor
Ah, so lorewise, they've also been up'd
no they're the same
Nah, I'm not complaining about first born disappearing. Just wondering where they went.
it's not really elaborated why termies got switched to primaris without any changes
like they're still the same suits
but the models are noticeably bigger
I kinda wish they had more lore when they release new units
Lol that's what got me curious; if they were still using the same terminator armor or they had to make a new one to fit primaris marines like they had to make a new dreadnought.
and the whole primaris being taller than firstborn is kinda retconned?
Like the rogal dorn has like no lore
They’ve always been able to adjust it
rogal dorn my favorite tank that has no backstory at all
Primaris sized marines have existed for a long time
Or bigger
Same way they adjust armor to fit all marines
This is a fair point considering Tyberos the Red Wake
Tyberos isn’t even that big smh
And a dinky fake demolisher
like poof suddenly militarum have a heavier leman russ
Smh
But sure yeah
They already did it's called the malcador, but they don't talk about it smh
malcador has lore
Bro literally had to have dreadnought pieces attached to his armor
Which was already bigger than usual, due to it being terminator
He doesn’t
and a reason to exist lore wise
He has tactical dreadnought armor
Bro was literally mistaken as a statue.
Aka, terminator armor
I'm more talking about updating the lore of it to fit the new militarum
He’s a head taller than normal marines, he’s not short but he’s not that tall
also im really annoyed that militarum tanks are named after figures
People vastly overstate his size
it's genuinely annoying
Aka giving it back it's old engine
but i cannot imagine the leman russ without its current name
I would like it if they didn't name tanks after primarchs
I want it named after humans
He’s cool but he gets overwanked a lot
Like, the masade battle tank
And he doesn’t really do much in the series he’s in
It probs did have a different name, but ya know.. Mechanicus being Mechanicus.
Most modern tanks aren't named after figures anymore.
But since when were Warhammer tanks modern?
They are modern by release
Most 40k tanks aren’t named after people either
what i dont get is why are all the other vehicles named after mythological creatures and suddenly the fucker who made the dorn is like "duh new tank is primarch"
I guess in the 41st millenium, you somehow backflip into WW2 designs
Because it's cool
Lol, Leman Russ tank probably had "Light Armor" in its name before it was named Leman Russ.
So true!!
Harping on 40k tank design is always a silly fight
Ain't actually complaining about it
It is funny though
Sometimes it can work though
leman russ is peak tank design
Makes as much sense as anything
Valdor tank hunter is a cool name
Russ was responsible for finding the STC
Well, technically just the Space Wolves. Not necessarily Russ himself.
guess what the exterminator does
Tbf for 40k tanks, yeah I can see some "dead-end" designs returning since well
Modern tanks are made for fighting against other tanks and people.
Meanwhile in the 41st millennium there are a myriad of different enemies.
And also it's 40k.
Being extreme and futuristically archaic is what it's all about babyyyyy
Russ led the forces which found it
It's basically a scifi machine gun rules wise
Yeah it’s just a silly conversion, we all know they don’t really make sense design wise
I though you meant the incinerator
no
Fuck these names
😔
That goes for a lot of weapons.
But if we had to go fully practical then it'd be boring.
Let me shoot my 30 round .75 mini missile launcher in peace.

dont confuse exterminator with executioner or we cant be friends
Lol. You'd need to play something like MOWAS2 modded to even start to get acquainted with the various types. And there'd still be more.
they're clearly very different
Extermincutioner

I mean, the macharius and the malcador are the closest we get to practical modern wise, along with the predator
Also some sci-fi tech like auto targetting systems would probably put things like multi turret back on the menu
alright if we count wacky forge world
We always do
malcador defender is the best
Which for some reason I recall mechanicus can now field
Don't know how the Imperium literally forgot how to maintain one of it's own common tanks and had to replace it with the Leman Russ
fair lma
So do milltia for that representation
and it came around during vraks
No it never did
It was replaced by the russ
since GW had to give vraksians a shitty old tank
I think 1d4chan said this "the Malcador looks like someone at Forge World made a Russ out of silly putty and stretched it."
The only thing that was lost was the engine it had
and then you get the macarius
which lore wise is a replacement for the baneblade
which is now in solar auxilia?
so i've been told
no it's literally said to be a shittier baneblade
Mechanicus multi turreted stuff is controlled with a servitor brain
Beats me
i havent seen a macharius in solar auxilia yet
It doesn't help that the tank is named after someone that doesn't exist yet
prove it
baneblade is stupid
it's literally stated to only have 2 variants during HH
but solar auxilia get shadowsword
STOP RETCONNING FOR IMPERIALIS GW
No
Even in the old rules they get to use it
Glory to Alan bligh’s legacy
Although I do wonder how tf do Lasguns have recoil
All baneblades were used in 30k even back then
The retcons will continue until morale improves
Gaunt's Ghost say they do
HH rule book itself literally mentions another type of baneblade
Ask dan
You should see the hh description of the land raider
I’ve heard theories with no basis lasguns were used for recreational stuff, so the recoil was to get the kick of a real gun
It mentions it's amphibious
Jokes and theories with 0 evidence aside
We don’t fucking know
Why lasguns have recoils
Why should we care anyways
The Deathhammer is a Super Heavy Tank of the Imperium. It was developed from the same STC that produced the Baneblade and Fellblade.[1]
check this
ITS IN THE FUCKING RULE BOOK
BUT THEY DONT MAKE A MODEL
They probably couldn't because Alan died
because they dont shoot lasers fuck off
The dark angels also have a unit in game that are basically enslaved robots from the dark age
It's a unit, it has rules
no it annoys me
We dunno what it looks like though
that GW is just pulling in all the 40k shit
retconning all the vraks stuff
and STILL NOT ADDING CHIMERA
They did though
so they make a fucking leman russ basilisk
They have a chimera now
the medusa isnt even a chimera in 30k
I guess because it looks cool
No
show it
Like Darktide tried to have 0 recoil lasguns
In the rules
It felt like shit
is it in 30k??
For some reason yes
lasguns have recoil if you think that's stupid you need to realize that the concept of a gun you can carry that can fry a hole through a person with a laser would require more battery power than your whole house
so fuck you
true but still shouldn't have recoilllll~

jkjk
Explode
dont apply your highschool level physics to 40k
pisses me off when geeks get in my territory
it has slight recoil and kick still
so it feels good
it shoots projectiles
it very clearly causes knockback on enemies
just imagine it's a bullet
like fuck
it's getting me riled up just
IF IT HAS NO RECOIL WHY DOES IT HAVE IMPACT
i need to explain newton's laws now
Do you even remember who you were mad at
Oh okay fair
the year is 40000
imperium is at war on all sides
conservation of inertia no longer exists
They lost the STC to that
at least one thing is true
if a lasgun were actually that powerful it would genuinely emit a visible light trail since it would ionize all the air on its path to the target
people really dont understand how batshit powerful a laser has to be to tear chunks off humans
I mean in lore it does mention it is very strong
And yet it can be mass produced and is also considered to be
"a flashlight"
I mean
it actually does
Some depictions show shooting the lasgun having long streams of light
I feel like that's the only depiction. I've never seen the laser. when fired, become a projectile or bolt, it's a consistent line of heat and energy.
In fairness, there are recoil-less guns.
And while I don't think the Las weapons have recoil due to the Laser emition, I think it has one due to the electromechanical components.
Same way I don't think the Lasgun has a a direct 'impact', but rather cause plasmification of the matter hit, which is what mimic the impact
I think they decided they wanted recoil because it felt better and there isn’t really a good reason
Like a lot of things in 40k
"it looks cool"
Also like Darktide showed, weapons without recoil feel like garbage
In all honesty I do imagine that minor recoil is there just so that it doesn't feel just like a laser pointer
Despite the fact that they're up against Necrons so it might as well be
it becomes a bolt because the soldiers let go of the trigger
the recon is most likely using some kind of internal interrupter
you mean invisible right?
Nah they just fucking keep squeezing it

that would just fire a contentious beam
Actually that sounds sick
yeah
Ig that would be what a hellgun would do or smth
Anyways yeah true
It probably has a timer or something to separate the beams
Probably to prevent it from uh
Exploding or something
Also is it Hotshot or Hellgun?
yeah overheating is likely why the guard is trained to not fire beam
I usually say Hellgun cause I think it's a cooler name
arent they like 2 different versions?
iirc the hotshot is the hellgun's bigger brother
Hellgun is the old name, they're both the same and Hotshot is the current name
is there a las weapon called a volley gun?
Honestly Multilaser sounds cool as a
Veteran weapon
Why did they change it
The Hot-Shot Lasgun[1][5][6][8] or Hellgun[1][5][6] is an enhanced version of the standard Lasgun used by the Imperial Guard[1] and the Skitarii of the Adeptus Mechanicus.[2] It is commonly issued to Imperial special forces units such as Storm Troopers for its superior armor-penetrating capabilities.[3]
A Hot-Shot Laspistol, also known as a Hellpistol, is a pistol version of the Hot-Shot Lasgun typically used by Imperial Guard Storm Troopers. Unlike the larger Hot-Shot Lasgun, which is normally restricted to special forces units, Hot-Shot Laspistols are more common among high-ranking Imperial officials, including Imperial Guard officers or agen...
i love how just about every weapon in the imperium has a bigger version of it
Multilaser are to heavy to be used by a regular human, better picked for Ogryn (same for Lascannon)

Might be difficult to make work. More so if considered a different wrapon than a Longlas
Awww
Hmmm
Yeah so obviously Hellgun s/Hotshots for Veteran
Lascutters do sound cool tho
Basically they're supposed to be used for sieges
Y'know opening up bulkhead doors, walls, etc.
But they can actually be used as a short ranged weapon due to them creating a "short ranged laser arc"
I'd guess they would appear as the same 'weapon' as the Multilaser and Lascannon.
Where like the Rumbler/Kickback(/Tughshot) where they have the same model but are different weapons

Do you often need to strangle people other than Zimmer and Jay ?
Do lasguns shoot only lasers or is there also a projectile. I've seen it mentioned both ways. In the same book.
it's the old beam vs bolt thing
bolts are lame and anyone who says lasguns shoot bolts you can safely consider them braindamaged
I figure it's pure lasers. Meaning there would be no recoil.
Lasgun are beam/Laser only
There are weapons that have both Laser and a projectile (Usually some sort of Neddler)
There is recoil on a lasgun!
Very small, but it's there
They shit out a ton of photons and actually have recoil as a result
Like a ton
The most typical answer for Lasguns and recoils SHOULD be...
"...it depends on the pattern of the Lasgun"
mic drop
Stop trying to junk science recoil
It doesn't matter, it either does or doesn't depending on how you/the author would prefer
@storm jungle lebron james optimus prime
WHAT
Real
NO WAY THAT IS A OFFICIAL HASBRO TOY
It isnt
Its a takara tomy toy
😁
yeah just noticed it, one of those third party transformers
Takara isnt third party lol
They are officially licensed
i know which is the wild part
why the hell would they call it lebron james version
Because lebron james
They also had an evangelion recolor
Though im not sure if that one is official
Yup its real
ohh a recolor of the masterpiece optimus prime
did i ever tell you guys i sleep in hello kitty bed sheets
okay slop warden
okay 😁slop user
okay arc#####t

the try hard horde shooter player on his way to go in front of the team and immediately get downed
an actual left 4 dead player would stay with the group
i hate when coop games dont punish solo brains enough
cough cough helldivers 2
that's mostly the console and AAA effects
but also the game doesn't really push you to work together
how many times did someone shoot you for apparently doing something bad?
teamates throwing artillery on you and you're the bad person for asking them to use their eyes
they have stolen my drops
yeah that checks out
and dropped arty
fucking mortar turrets
at least darktide pushes to you literally stay in a group with all the buffs and spawn mechanics
that still doesn't stop idiots from ignoring it
If it's a horde shooter it's inevitable someone will develop the large solo only blame the teammates ego
it shouldn't
mf'ers have the option to play solo but they decide to make random people's experience miserable by not following the simple coop mechanics
I do think coherence is the sort of mechanic that is easily overlooked
Especially for new players
call me stupid but arent elite spawns increased when teamates spread out
Its just monke brain
No logic or reasoning
But yeah, game likes to spawn disablers when people get too cheeki breeki
i noticed that very early on
that when i rushed forward i was being tackled by like 4 mutants on diff 3
If you have an afk at spawn, the game will always spawn a dog to eat them
fun fact left 4 dead 2's director would actively try to slow down your progress
if even the whole team was doing everything perfectly together but progressing too quickly it would reduce the intervals between climax moments
the whole climax and interlude system was so damn good
time to take a breather and time to have full action
L4d is just such a good game
it perfected coop horde shooter gameplay before it was even a fully defined genre
I wonder if we will ever get versus in DT once it full releases in vt2
ı hope not because like these specials were NOT made to be used by players
sang guard release
compared to Special Infected in L4D
time to spam grenades as bomber
I think sang guard were always goldenboys
GRENADE, OUT
Imagine a player finding an exploit and just like throw a grenade from 100 feet away
and just ******* burning everything
being a tox bomber woukd be the shit
yep
bro tox bomber bounce mechanics alone would be lethal if you know basic trajectory like me LOL
block passage with fire + mutant charge into a bomb guy
^
throw people off map
the barrel practice will definitely pay off
Tox Bomber is probably one of the most lethal enemies in this game, i love him
reminds me of bridge map in left 4 dead 2
Parish finale?
just charger people off the map
and somehow you don't get mad at him
DUDE
yeah
yes he is very annoying to deal with because the gas is
the survivors literally say "watch out for chargers here"
Rather dangerous
we do a little trolling
but he's actually a fine enemy
getting mad at a special enemy for doing its job is peak braindead imo
yep
its entire job is to disable or kill you
pretty much is
Gotta watch out for his jerkin arm
Next big reveal show
Ohh yeah do tox gas buff enemies
I imagine this is where we'll get our next Roadmap
i see we've all watched the same video
Honestly I haven’t, it was always a joke with my friends and me
left 4 speed
do NOT tell me you havent seen it
it's a classic
Tox bomber makes exe stance even more useless
you just had to remind me because the most memorable thing I remember on that is the undead fetus
I have not unfortunately
please watch both videos if they're still on youtube
you missed a vital part of my childhood
kiddyland
"It has no GAS you MORON"
"Yeah but theres gas cans around for JUST such an occassion!!!"
get chargered
"i wonder why they call this one hard rain"
why do they keep pointing out the massive cannons
they really want us to know that this planet has 1 single gimmick
i have like 4 friends complainin about that same subject lol
"you might have missed this glaring fucking thing in the trailer"
because they are cool stop complaining ya racoon
Because it's the reason everyone wants the world
GW we didn't miss the cannons we just didn't think they were special in 40k
they're just normal ass 40k background
literally look at any art of imperial fortified cities and you see massive amounts of huge guns
so i guess the cannons are there to shoot other planets or something
Yea but they talk about it in the reveal stream, the world used to be a Hive World before the gun, now it's a Weapon World, where the entire world is dedicated to maintaining and supporting this weapon.
It's mahooosive
also ngl i thought the massive shell was a crucible for iron working
i can't be the only one who thought this
yes i know i watched it with you
but what does this have to do with the killteam
Maybe that cannon is teasing a new terrain
It's the focus point of this season of Killteam
Giant cannon terrain
All the Killteams are fighting on this planet trying to get this big gun
it would literally not fit on the terrain of emperialis
Yea the gun won't be in terrain
They talk about the fights being "Areas around the gun"
im pretty sure you can fit an imperator titan in the barrel
around 3 feet tall on tabletop i believe
The name of the gun is...well, not imaginative but still on point.
Massif Ballistus...
it was actually given a size once lol
Probably. Or make an extra big Zzap gun.
Also
I cannot help but think someone on KT design team watched the trailer for PVKK when they came up with that thing
what's PVKK
oh that game
knowing the time it takes to animate stuff i do believe it was in concept long before that game was revealed
Yea that game XD.
And yea, fair. Probably a very odd but lucky coincidence.
large cannons arent a particularly novel concept either
im just confused what the point of it is in 40k
shooting ships?
I would say so
Given the Tau dispatch explicitly mentions that is the thing preventing them from sending the fleet in.
kinda ironic that if the planet didn't have that cannon it wouldn't be much of a target for attacks
repurpose their smaller ships to fit into it as ammunition
I would assume the planet itself had values beyond the cannon...but then again it is GW writing the lore.
weird to see tau going so guns blazing
you'd expect them to just play the long game and convince the planet's rulers
but the imperium might have a tight grip on the world
I think the dispatch did try to justify that by saying the human population is weirdly dogmatic and loyal to IoM
Yep
i guess they had to also justify it not being a fortress world since if that were the case it wouldn't need scions for help
it's just a normal hive world with a big cannon
a repeat of the vraks armoury world condition
To be fair, even fortress worlds can do with elite assistance, but I get your point.
It also does seem to be the case that there is a non-Tau invasion that is also happening
the ork one right?
Yea, they look like the ones with the actual invading force.
i dont remember seeing the cannon shoot in the trailer but it apparently does
so there's definitely some shit going on
Yep
Even if it was a fortress world, you would need Scions to guard the Big Gun since the home regiments are busy fighting the Orks
yeah it seems to he a hard target to defend since it has so many areas that keep it logistically going
Yep. The bigger the round and mechanisms, the more there are tiny entrances to guard...
How is the lore chat today
is there a reason that grey knights havent shown up yet in the moebian domain yet
it's too small for them rn
there havent been any major demons appearing
eh fair enough
the domain is pretty close to the sol system tho so I thought it would be kind of worrying for the ordo malleus
Grey Knights show up when apocalyptic threats need to be subdued
most of their artworks have them fighting in quite literal hellscapes
Atoma is not a full on daemonic invasion
it takes a lot for inquisitors to call in astartes, let alone grey knights
^
- The grey knights use Prognosticars to gauge and assess threats they do want to deal with, they'd know if things were bad enough to warrant their assistance here
yeah I don't know a ton about grey knights as they've never really interested me
Generally speaking by thr time GK are involved, physics has long disappeared and even our characters will genuinely go insane.
would be very funny to see grey knights fighting pox walkers though lol
I just know em as "anti-daemon guys"
they'd probably kill captain wolf the millisecond they arrive
get lored you nurgling
and those fucking twins would not stand a chance
yes
yeah
bruh
And conversely, a single "truescale" Demonic threat would be like...we take Corruption tick damage as soon as we touch down on the planet
you're not supposed to know demons exist as a pleb
cadians though?
its related to working with grey knights
yes, but if they are important but to not be trusted they would just do a memory wipe
what abt those guys?
depends on the warzone
Any mind exposed to daemonic corruption or things worse like daemon primarchs can get corrupted down the road by chaotic influences, sometimes this is true sometimes its not, in their eyes its "why take the chance"
We should fight nurglings, they’re only minor daemons, not out of the question for the admonition to have considering they have hosts
Cadians aren't real tho
grey knight havent purged many people recently so i guess they kinda mellowed
Imperial propaganda
Only Marines and VIP have thr priviledge of being mind wiped instead.
Also if a Marine chapter happens to stand up for you...you might get away with it.
They have
Just seems wasteful
^
but they would literally kill entire battalions
thats the Imperium
like
why are you people expecting sense
from literal space nazis
lol
At least send them in suicide missions or something
they did it so hard that space wolves fought them to calm tf down
I mean some do
it depends
Or work them to death still
also depends
What if they fight alongside other astartes?
they get mindwiped
same with Sisters
Well, the other issue is also that Chaos and Warp corruption is like a mental virus
What if I say no?
To answer any lore questions in the future
you dont get a choice
It depends
Kiss my ass, proverbially
You get violently sliced apart like a butcher slices through meat
Aight kiss this bolt
“Nuh uh” “Fuck you mean nuh uh” “nuh uh”
you misunderstand how worthless the average human is in 40k
I mean if the Astartes they fight alongside say no
You are chaff for the grinder
Doesn’t matter
Not a normal shmuck
They will be forcefully chained and forcefully mind wipe
there are very few space marines that know they exist
^
victims of imperial propaganda everywhere
one of them being the space wolves
space wolves literally went to war with grey knights
and almost got their homeworld bombed to shit
I like these guys already
Months of shame, more like months of peak
Who won the fight though
Unfortunately space wolves are boring and one note
Space wolves are hella gay tho so unfortunately you can't root for them
the Inquisition did
Fick
Le space vikings
Wolves are a mixed bag.
They had to be monsters at Prospero, to do good at Armageddon.
Fuck
it was more like a pyrrhic victory
by the climax of the war Fenris was surrounded
But they’re one of the ones I kinda find interesting
They are space marines but worst of all they are stereotypical Viking furry space marines
and the people the Wolves rescued spread daemonic corruption to the planets they escaped
What the fuck is that
Like bro, there’s more to Norse society than “WOLVES WOLVES WOLVES” they just make me sad
Space wolf
a space wolf where the added mutation genes in his gene seed caused him to turn into a werewolf
Isn't that a neutral outcome? Does the Inquisition normally agree to truces?
also known as yes a Wulfen
I mean, did the lore ever clarified whether it caused even more Extermantus...ses, or just "Oh now Cults are everywhere"?
That seems...
They do when you’re useful than dead
Or controllable
they normally expunge entire astartes chapters from existence
Heretical???
More like gay
Emperor did it
space wolves got off easy because plot armour
space wolves got a pass bc they make gw money lol
it was established the Wolves were wrong
people just never talk about it
What casualties did the Inquisition take if they agreed to a truce?
It’s the chapters “unique great shame” that every chapter has
It’s more a pr thing
I think grimnar killed a few gk
nah some chapters have gene seed that have specialized properties to give them more edge it's normal thing but not really appreciated
For example the black dragons which basically makes them into tarkatan space marines
I dont like the wulfen curse
This guy hates aliens but turns his sons into giant mutated wolf monsters?
eh it's never clear whether plebs become chaos cultists because they realize how shit the imperium is during chaos invasions or because it's some weird disease of the mind. i prefer the logic route
Why did he do that???
It's complicated
werent they declared excommunicae tratoris?
Because the genetic material makes them stronger ig
This is the same guy that thought to stop people from worshipping him instead of talking to them bombing them is the right way to do it
It's better you watch oculus imperia for a better explanation
His stuff is good
it literally says they did
i am not kidding he destroyed planets for that shit
okay but i dont like it
SHUT UP NERD
What???
I thought a lot of the defects were from the primarchs being warp creations

What in the fuck
Probably also true
START READING THE LORE OR WE ARE GONNA PUSH YOU TO A VAT OF MELTED PLASTIC
Wouldn't that just make more heretics???
yeah uh his son wanted to worship the emperor as a God and you know instead of lecturing his son, he decided to destroy his work in front of him by blowing up the planets he made to worship his father
why do astartes get to go through their whole character arcs to chaos but humans have to have this disease that FORCES them to be chaos oriented
trust me this guy is rather not a good one
Yes! it did in fact do that
Ah ok. I mean ultimately I would measure it by outcome (I.e. for the setting, a few extra planets developing Chaos Cults is not THAT big of a deal, compared to extra planets being blown up because of taking jn Armaggedon refugees) but it is still nice to know GW actually remembered to write the ending note for that.
a lot more
Emperor is a bad dad
I got into this universe through Imperial Knights I'm SORRY 😭
What a dumb guy thinks a smart guy looks like
Don’t listen to dilara
knights are a very weird introduction to 40k
If you have time to understand elden ring lore and lick Miquella's feet you have time to read warhammer
That’s one I don’t usually hear
Lorgar was galactically embarrassed by his dad in public
So read you bleed build spamming piece of shit
He wasn't any better let's not pretend he was
??
I am a gigantic mech fan
why not titans
I saw them and visibly pogged
also ew anime
You come from gundam
It's a joke
I come from battletech
Oh
Titans are gundams no cap
my intro was dark angels
Have you seen titans?
My intro was orks and admech
Still my favs
admech is my fav
If you want cool battle tech kits search dougram
Intro was DoW
There stuff is cool
My favorite stupid smart person
admech and iron warriors
And i was instantly enamored by the "BATTLE BRUTHA"
same here, that Gorgutz outline was burned into my head
I also thought sindri was cool as fuck as villain
Yes, but from my understanding titan pilots are inherently doomed to become ghosts in the machine, which is decidedly not cash money if you want a family. Or walking.
It’s just that you join the helm, an echo of you at least
it's cozier than being in the guard
You get to be independent as a knight
The Emperor seems decidedly like a terrible father, but excellent warcrime enabler?
Accurate
he's barely a person
NOW you are getting it
more like a cartoonishly evil character
Which is a problem I have
nail on the head
Mainly his consistency
Titans can’t not be seperate, it’s like a drug they can’t get enough of, even as it drives them mad and burns out your mind, cause hooking yourself up to a god like engine is not smart
Was he ever one? He seems like he was born with omniscience from how people talk about him?
He’s 13 shamans in a trench coat
Not making this up
if only abnett wrote a guideline for other writers since he's the lore messiah apparently
He isn't perfect let's be real
He was responsible for the ultramarines movie
Or actually lore?
I don’t remember if that got retconned though
we never get a story directly from his perspective and tons of writers had their way with him so he comes off as a psychopath who thinks he's better than everyone
he never understood how to be human because he was born as a demigod with superpowers
if only i knew how to read...
that's very old lore but that used to be the case
Mostly it’s a mystery
as of now he was basically just like born in the world or something
and like he was alexander the great
or
any other type of ******* history figure i don't ******* know
It’s okay sweet brute, you do other things well 🙂
one of the possible origins. no retcons in 40k, only confusion
How fucking old is he?
I kinda love it
he practically can't biologically age
he was born somewhere BC
ok hadron sorry
so uh
he's freaking dead
he was very ******* old
BC
I mean apparently he bombed a populace for worshipping him? So not inaccurate?
and by born i'm being generous since he's barely fucking human
It makes you feel like a imperial citizen in a universe where history is still kept by written text and oral tradition across a fucking galaxy, no one knows what to expect l
he had his son attack his other son for doing witchcraft
very normal behavior
this happened multiple times btw
Sons biologically or via metaphysical mitosis?
Both kinda
Somethingsomethingdealwiththechaosgods
More like in vitro
Hard to imagine this guy having a girl
With a touch of eldritch magic
Who doesn't have their sons fight to death?
warp based
we wouldn't have the horus heresy if they had a mom
Just makes them stronger
It’s like bioengineered
I vaguely recall he had a deal with chaos and then walked out of it because he was a dick
Based
Then the primarchs got scattered
Should have written the contract better
Who did they come from though, an actual woman? Or literally the goddamn warp?
Erda?
Test tube
Which is correct?
Literally bioengineered and his dna, and sometimes he added extra spice like space wolves
Added some wolf dna and shit
Ex problems caused all of 40k
What part did Erda play besides the scattering thing
dark age science mumbo jumbo and chaos stuff
It’s the test tube one
hey guy what do U reccomend getting for Ur first model to paint i don't wnna get ultramarines...
Orks
Okay so they're his sons, so that makes astartes his grandsons? And custodes are?
uhhh test tube chaos woman yeah ?
Kill team models looked kind of dope
good thing astartes models come unpainted so you can do any chapter
Cause fucking up just adds to the flare
true tho
What factions do you like
custodes are his bodyguards and caretakers
astartes are the primarch's sons
except if you're angron
he doesnt pay child support
Its primarchs > custodes > astartes i think
Why do random ass dudes guard him and not someone w/ a vested interest?
Anyways, enough space marine lore, it’s boring
Astartes are just mass produced soldiers
They literally cannot betray him
admech, death guard, iron warriors r my top 3 in that order
Like meticulously master crafted immortals
Probably do death g uard then
Custodes have a lot more investment in them than space marines do
because these random dudes are generically engineered to be super super soldiers who are 100% loyal to him. astartes were created to conquer the galaxy
he didn't create primarchs for fun
Custodes guard the house
i mean i don't really dislike any factions except for eldar and tau, just don't dig their vibe
You dont like penis helmets?
Until after he got put in the funny chair, then his son told them to get off their ass
i do not like penis helmets
eldar hater
thye do a bunch of other weird stuff too
like those ones that go out and guard people that r supposed to be important eventually
For Custodes they take the best kids from the Nobles on Terra and give them artisanal crafted DNA enhancements to supercharge them and raise them to be completely loyal
They’re gonna be weird
all the talons of the emporer r weird
also yes do not confuse custodes with astartes, they are created completely differently
So Custodes are a fair bit stronger, like between primarchs and astartes, who are they closer to in strength?
Best sons* 😉
Marines
closer to primarchs
Not as good as primarchs but better than marines for sure
they're not on par. still closer
No
custodes can easily murder astartes
They've been around for 10K years, guarding the palace and doing esoteric shit, why? Why aren't they proactively fucking daemons up and shit.
whatever custodes are somewhere between primarch and astartes
Because daddy didn’t say so
How many of these guys are there?
Actually maybe they do
they are, since recently
Like 200
200?!
Right now give or take 6000 or so
they're called the ten thousand
custodes?
10000
they are called the emporer's 10000
obviously not exactly 10k
Yea there are never more than 10k of them
but it's their nickname
well yeah doi but around there
A good chunk of them died during the Sack of Lion's Gate and the whole Shadow Throne shitshow
It should be warhammer 42000 now
Recently? So until now, they've been just fucking around on earth?
Anyways, besides space marines, what other lore you wanna learn about? Space marines are kinda a lot of randomly nuanced lore other factions don’t get
Yeah pretty much
One of the primarchs told them to do shit
they werent on tabletop so they were ignored
that's the real reason
The lore reason is probably just shame/lack of orders
They've always done spy stuff
Like could custodes (theoretically) have ran Abbadon's fade at Cadia?
No
custodes were at cadia
No cause plot armor
Like why aren't they headhunting chaos forces?
i think
Abaddon can pretty casually kill them, and they'd also be outnumbered by a few million
Because gw deemed the plot must move on
but that was a whole black crusade
Custodes can't really do much against a Blackstone Fortress falling ontop of them tbh
it was a LOT of chaos
literally the eye of terror yes
i HAAAAATE abaddon
There was one that Trazyn threw out, Abaddon chopped off his head with little effort
also apparently since custodes are written to win every battle they go to in imperial records cadia was considered an imperial victory
Was that always the plan?
Or did the plan fuck up so badly he got mad?
No he threw a shitfit
After literally everything conspired to fuck with the plan
You should probably read Fall of Cadia
i will make you
That is a bit wild.
Cadia stands
Hot
yes
Cadia was gone, the Blackstone fortress was too annoying to control and got crippled, so he cut his losses and tossed it at Cadia once the pylons turned on
look at this idiot
I wanna see them in solar pattern armor
I might have oversimplified lol
i hope robot gorillaman rips his face off
