• New factions of the Imperium came forth, such as the Elyssiarchy, a fanatical cult that Worships the Emperor's Ascension to Godhood swearing a fanatic-tism loyalty and a unfevered persecution to all those that are against their beliefs, and the Imperial Inquisition, a safeguard established in secrecy as a last resort to ward of new threats to Imperium from within and beyond
• New threats emerged as Imperium's war for Conquest continues ever-so on.

TLDR; There are generally two requirements for being an Abhuman instead of an outright mutant.

A) Consistent genetics.

If two Ogyrns bump parts (ew), you get an Ogyrn.

If two random mutants do the same, you can get either a different looking monster, some type fleshy sludge, or even just...

A normal human being..

Yeah there's no guarantee.

B) You're useful.

Yeah that's the second part. You're useful to the Imperium.

Ogyrns are literally stronger than Space Marines but also really dumb so they're easy to control. It's free muscle, therefore they're allowed.

Ratlings are only slightly different, and smell weird. They snipe and sneak really good though. just keep any valuables away from them and you've got a good soldier.
