i always just thought they were larger
painaxe
Yeah
Slightly to help them chew through people
I want Fire Evicerators
I’d just assume it’s a powere field enveloped chain axe
Yeah
Therefore a “power” axe
well ill be damned
huh
interesting
guess that means zealot technically has a power weapon
Weapon customization in 40k is only really limited by budget and materials
You can make some pretty crazy home brew weapons for your character
Is thunder hammer not a power weapon?
It is
It is
Thunder weapon and Shock weapons are sub categories of Power weapons
That's why it's called a thunder hammer
thats literally JUST a chainsaw lmao
Because the power field when you hit something with it literally feels like a thunderbolt
It’s just a weird power weapon
I figured but was confused by the zealot power weapon statement
OH SHIT YEAH I FORGOR
dawg im stupid
XD
zealot has 2 powerweapons
most realistic depiction of a chain weapon
So power hammer and thunder hammer aren't necessarily synonyms but thunder is moreso a subtype?
i guess that means zealot has the MOST powerweapons
LOL no worries
Power: Disruption field on the weapon
Thunder: Charge up the field and discharge it on hit
Shock: Power the weapon but with electricity or with lesser Disruption fields
Shock is for police brutality
It's a variant, you could have Power Swords, Thunder Swords and Shock Swords
But giving one to an ogryn
As well as a couple of other rarer thing
most powerweapons use their fields to cut through stuff, ie, constantly on in a little field around the edge of the blade
thunderhammers function entirely differently
instead, they basically discharge their field in a split second at the time of impact
I feel like thunder swords wouldn't be as effective at discharging as a thunder hammer unless there's some funny writing as to why
Probably
thunder other things, if they exist at all, barely exist
i cant think of one ive ever seen??
Thunder atm we only know for Hammers
its the only one that really makes sense
Oh yeah Blossfeldia liliputana, how do phase weapons and power swords react to each other when they collide
also, custodians have power spears
thats what their guardian spears are!
The other one is in a constant state of vibration through dimensions
While the other one can literally cut through just about everything because of a atom cutting power field
Maces, Flails, Spears...
Could you classify ironhelm as power and thunder at the same time? Since it cleaves through lesser mass until it hits something chunkier?
i guess a power mace could make sense, but they arent direcitonal like a hammer is
same with flails
Or do thunder weapon impacts get decided by the user and that's just when our characters do it in game
GW should call the class "powered weapons" and leave power weapons to force field ones
Nah, its still got the discharge effect so its a Thammer
The Guardian Spear is a traditional weapon of the Adeptus Custodes.[1]
Power cut chain
But can be blocked by other Power as well as Phase weapons
Phase weapons are iirc able to damage Power weapons but not in the same way that Power does on Chain
Fair nuff
So it's just basic collision?
phase weapons are fucking weird
they violate physics lol
like most necron weapons
this is 40k
It'll still damage the Power Sword
same with Nurgle "plague" weapons
some shitty death guard combat knife
can chip a fucking powersword
Okay so the power sword would be the one that will break first
because of how warp corrupted it is
genestealer claw puncturing terminator armour
That's not really the most ridiculous thing that's just like an ant eater breaking through concrete because of their claws
These things are basically the pinnacle of evolution
Probably coated in acids
So them having sharp claws isn't that ridiculous
It's probably monomolecular in edge
it's the fact that it's straight up shearing through metal instead of like tearing it open or something
think of it this way
you can use an ignition source to create both a flame
and an explosive
blades are flames
thunder hammers are explosions
but function off the same tech, just used differently
You'd think bites would be more leaned into than claws because bite force could easily be more devastating
Yeah but there's also the fact that in superhero stuff chain is supposed to break on its weakest point not break apart like a f****** snapped spaghetti
Trust me getting stuck on tiny details like that is not going to get you any fun in life
why am i being told this
you would
I find it entertaining and amusing
im making an example of 40k's ridiculousness
Emprahs Copper advocating for vore
bet
do not vore the SOB
Do NOT vore bitches
1 more mention of vore and i'm doxxing you
The best way to mentally break them is to teleport them around right
Brief warp exposure
do you think drukahri discord would have moderators who make sure the chat doesn't become SFW
no
that phrase sucks
a kabals discord would be 1984
i will remake it
Of course you will you tank eating gopher
i like tanks!!
at everyone, please do not announce to the server about torturing your trueborn kid. This has been a reoccuring issue and I'm not sure why some people have such underdeveloped social skills that they think a server of fellow Kabalite's would need to know that. No one is going to be impressed and give you a high five (especially considering where that hand has been). I don't want to add this to the rules, since it would be embarrassing for new users to see that we have a problem with this, but it is going to be enforced as a rule from now on.
If it occurs, you will be warned, then additional occurrences will be dealt with at the discretion of modstaff. Thanks.
They should rapidly teleport the guy who break the role
FUCCKKK I was just torturing my trueborn kid, where else am I supposed to talk about it
In the mental asylum
you don't get banned off of drukhari discord, they livestream your brutal execution before you get revived by a haemonculi
But teleportation torture
Because i want them to stare at slannesh for a few seconds
I think it would be really funny if Drukhari refined teleportation tech to be perfectly consistent
...just for torture reasons
lol
just so some Eldar gets to have a staring contest with a daemon of slaanesh
before getting dragged out the warp
It is already pretty consistent
they open portals wherever they want for raids
those are via webway no?
the 9th edition codex has an artwork of it
not punched through the warp directly
Yeah but you know what would be so funny if you you know
Puncture a hole for the warp to leak into the portal
Yep
Make it such a fun party to rave in
I thought the other day we were saying it was very risky to use
umies do everything worse
thats just normal teleportation
stuff like warpspiders
which are a craftworld aspect shrine
though granted their teleportation tech seems reliable
drukhari would literally learn to capture black holes just to put people in the event horizon so their perception of time stretches to infinity and they therefore suffer forever
they already capture black holes and suns
so uh not too far off
(they get grabbed by daemons)
Has this happened or is this really good creativity on your part
Yea, Darklance weaponry is basically shooting a black hole at someone
It has
Literally the first plot of rogue trader game
i dont know
almost as far back as 5th edition
good creativity regarding the putting someone on the event horizon
but the Drukhari do capture suns and blackholes
It was fun to watch when i blew open their skulls
LOL
Poor bastard(s?)
theres also a necron planet which is stuck on the event horizon of a black hole
and they experience time extremely slowly
and are stuck in like ancient times
its where Cawl is going for his next book
If he comes out of the planet and it's already been like 500 years it's going to be so f****** funny
Mad bastard
i love how 40k timeline is so convoluted that cawl could spend 5000 years there and it would still make sense
I bet he's going to grab the planet with an oversize loony tunes hook and pull it away from the Black Hole.
side note black holes are so rarely mentioned in 40k it's kinda weird for a sci fi
To be fair i don't really think they can constantly hold their shape because of how the universe of 40k works
I think they're just "mundane"?
at least by the horrors of the galaxy standards
^
Some factions might just straight up steal the damn thing
OR the imperium doesnt give a shit because learning physics is for tau losers
me when pocket blackhole DAOT superweapon
Yeah i would be more scared to the faction that can summon avatars of war gods than some space suction thingy that has the same gravitational properties as a star
isn't that terrifying in its own way
without any light to backdrop it, it would literally be invisible
Yeah but blackhole horror is kinda overdone
Yeah it has been reduced to just a scary obstacle unfortunately
you got gravitational lensing but BL rarely elucidates on the scan rate and resolution of imperial sensors
You can avoid it if you pay attention to it with a lot of your scanners and stuff
i dont think it will ever be overdone
because it's still terrifying
It's terrifying but you have seen it multiple times that it has become quite numb is what she means
i haven't
Me when ghoul stars
I mean yeah i wouldn't want to be going into a black hole but like it's been used in fiction so much it's basically
Just not that scary anymore
Godzilla survived one bowser survived one
This fictional characters survived one
It's been used way too much
the most hostile environment to humanity is like 99.999% of the universe
40k's more science fantasy which is harder to make harder scifi horror work in a setting that's got actual space magic
^
and nobody wants to read about this
criminal lack of mechanical horror 😔
Me when servitor factory in flesh and blood
i do

yesss i just want more
i dont feel scared of fleshy horroy
You =/= the Wider Audience
ground breaking facts with your host dilara the witchfinder
are gauss weapons long range or just short range
Yes.
like can the bolt just kill anything at any distance
It doesnt travel that far, and it just depends on the situation and whos writing
its kind of hard to judge how far a magical green lightning arc goes out of a sci-fi gun too so
Me watching authors write pure energy of light bolts somehow acting as ammunition with limited range
i thought gauss weapons were straight up magic in the setting
Effective around the same distance as bolter and lasgun fire(under unoptimal conditions)
It could fizzle out
at least lasguns are stated to lose effectiveness with range
No i'm talking about like fancy plasma ammunition that somehow has the properties of an actual bullet
Instead of fizzling out
it also only explodes when coming in contact with a target, instead of exploding in the plasma gun or the moment it touches air
Jay i know you like details and stuff but like they're just things you should not put your head in
that didn't work
@storm jungle pass me the taser
Like at range it lose it's strength ?
bruh moment
Plasma would fizzle out and self consume
No like those weapons that you load actual bullets in but somehow they fire out plasma or some s*** and but they still have the properties of bullets
Like a Plasma Rpg ?
No like those weird sci-fi guns where you loading like actual bullets with a magazine but they somehow shoot something like plasma
peak 40k is melta weapons not having consistent projectiles
Kinda like a Laslock ?
Or the Phosphex and Phosphor weapon do ?
laslocks are very cool
mostly because i have a weird obsession with single shot weapons
Do they load in a physical bullet ?
And somehow when you fire it the turns into laser plasma thingy?
Its a beam
💀
Laslock work as small power cells that are single shots
Phosphore weapons use bullets filled with Phosphorous element from memor
Yooo Bioshock reference

i remember the first 40k book i read having a hot shot longlas be loaded every time with a hot shot bolt
which is very cool
but also what
I do find it funny the only warhammer mini with a laslock is a mechanicum one
and its a total piece of crap lol
Aren't those Mitralock ?
no its a laslock
wasn't there some vostroyan mini with a laslock
Okay i literally mean a weapon uses a physical magazine with bullets that look like this but somehow when they fire the bullets become like laser bolts like this
Vostroyans use normal lasguns
ah
they just look old-timey
here we go lol
Still a piece of crap gun
i thought that a was a laslock too
Those are Laslock
tech thralls also are pieces of crap but at least they're cheap
The other one is a Mitralock
yeah
lore accurate
laslocks are weird because they're treated as primitive but like are they better than autoguns?
Tracer rounds ?
why would you not just use autoguns instead of laslocks
Laslock are kind of the equivalent of Muskets
yes i noticed, thank you
shut up you are banned
but again why use a laslock instead of an autogun
so are autoguns
this is why you always get an F in my class
Way shittier fire rate
Higher fire power
then why are we still using bullet-based guns IRL
Laslock are punchier than regular lasgun
retrofuturism is in, actual futurism is heresy
We should go back to crossbow
damn its almost like
the imperium is kinda dumb
and archaic
Las locks are cheap as shit

That’s why they’re used
Tech thralls are disposable trash
That’s why they get Las locks lol
my headcannon is mechanicus dont want to give them full lasguns but they also dont want them to have autoguns because it would look bad to their superiors
Laslock probably are easier to produce since they don't really need to have power regulator (as they are supposed to expend the whole cell in 1 shot), and they work on smaller cells
Tbh tech thralls are lower then servitors
Its a mix of style over substance
mechanicus are very much swagger over function
Autogun have the issue of giving them ammo every time.
Las at least have rechargeable cells
Literally cost less then a guardsmen
they act like they dont but come on
Lol
Oh the mechanicus is absolutely vain lol
they are all Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs is more psychopathic
LOL
Then the average tech priest
no utilitarian person would wield shit like turbo laser handguns to kill their political enemy and the 5 concrete buildings behind them
Yeah
it's about sending a message
But tech thralls are a punishment
Now you're getting it
As well lol
So it’s def meant to look miserable and horrid
Poor guys don’t even get lobotomized lol
it's pretty insulting when you think about how cheap lasguns are for mechanicus
like no you get a shittier lasgun
bitch
It’s absolutely meant to be degrading, insulting, Ect.
When foundry workers get better weapons
When they get armed to defend themselves lol
do they really?
Lasguns, meltas, melta cutters
Its basically just any work weapon yeah
i wouldn't expect forge worlds to want their shitty work population to have weapons
They don’t get them normally
I mean this is stuff they work with
Unless shit goes really south
Also yeah they usually have melta cutters and stuff
Or other industrial gear
melta weapons probably originating from mining equipment is so fucking cool
like dead space cool
What will the wardens say about you
also the idea of imperium using the equivalent of power tools from the dark age as their main weapons
But like if a foundries forgelord tells the workers to go grab weapons, usually they won’t turn them on their oppressors immediately lol
Mostly since like
a melta is literally a superheat beam
Something far worse is outside lol
its not something super advanced
Metalica menials being told there’s a bunch of death guard and daemons outside
exactly i love it

i dont remember if i asked you but is agripina dead
why is it dead in the cadia stands novel
because its a badly written novel
LOL
YEET
the best part of that book is the ogryn
I love the fact that when tech pre-say flesh decays like as if metal doesn't corrode
its peak hypocrisy yeah
Nice metal skin you got there let me throw in a bit of water
lol
Yeah its why its like
in a baneblade
Fall of Cadia is supremely better
Pask on Cadia is even worse lol
Considering he explicitly was offworld fighting chaos
mechancius trying to justify losing their humanity to become relatively only slightly better than before is peak 40k hypocrisy
Fall of Cadia also borrows some stuff from Cadia Stands
like creed's fucking ground-basement tank depot plan
and the novel says how some doors didnt open
There’s a tech priest dying who has their biological heart give out after their artificial one and they’re pissed off
and the crew starved and died under there
wait that was wrong?
Pask hates baneblades
he's a leman russ commander right
Bro is a leman russ enjoyer
yep
Yep
he likes em basic
He loves them
if it aint broke dont fix it
understandable
Fanciest russ he’s been in
Okay now put him in a titan
Is the plasma one
I forgor okay
not to be confused with exterminator
these names fucking suck
i regularly forget guard artillery vehicle names
All I remember is basilisk
also the idea that leman russ basilisk are canon now
And wyvern
i remember bombard because it's a funny name
and deathstrike because funny ICBM vehicle
i try to remember most tank names
but like remembering that a demolisher and a thunderer are two different vehicles
even though they literally serve the same purpose and function
seriously though, who tf bought a destroyer from FW and decided that they wanted a shittier demolisher
no but like
Stuff like the searchlight Sabre
you buy the destroyer kit
which is a unique tank hunter
(legends)
and then you put a demolisher cannon on it
which immediately makes it worse than a regular demolisher because you cant even put sponsons on it
like i get it, a salvaged shitty destroyer hull pushed into combat again is cool
but you're buying a FW resin model
what is wrong with you
so if the fabricator general of mars is basically a human AI inside a massive super computer, is the same dude or do the successors just upload themselves when they gain the rank?
No
The fabricator general of mars is a new guy
His current “body” is fucking huge though
It’s intentionally obtuse and miserable to move so he has more excuses to not leave mars
is it still a human brain
Hes still got it yea
how do you even move something the size of a full hablock?
not even upgraded?
he has a primary body
Isn't his body so large requires titan grade moving equipment
Nah its upgraded
and yes it requires titan grade moving equipment
to decouple him from the foundry complex lol
at what point is an upgraded brain no longer human
his mobile body is fucking huge
when there's no brain left
So tech priests usually just attach more to their brain
rather then chopping bits out
in the carrion throne his body is a literal dwarf robot lol
yeah
can you copy consciousness in 40k
sounds like something that would cause issues in a story
Bile can, Cawl sort of can kind of
oh right cawl
Cawl learned alot from his master
regarding brain transfer
since she was obsessed with immortality
i assume the small robot in the book was just a proxy body
Cawl is a fucking weirdo
yeah
He figured out how to do his masters like
concious fusion thing she was working on
its implied some of her mind might have been subsumed/preserved by Cawl after he killed her for being a traitor lol
since he grabs the creepy fetus "backup" of her
Fetus what
She carried around a bunch of Fetus copies of her that she kept her conscious inside, she was a master of "soul merging" and cloning
basically a human Hemongulus
Cawl blew a hole through her skull with a melta when she defected to Horus
S*** like this exist and people still yammer about the daemonculaba
and he smashed all the backup fetus's but one
and he "subsumed its mind"
based on her techniques
hey if i could do it i'd do it
It’s creepy, they’re all under her robe in these weird tanks
And when Cawl shoots her a bunch of them crack open and the way it’s described is
Ugh
Forbidden juice
kinda dumb in the 40k universe since you dont need digital immortality when just being cool with a chaos god makes you immortal
Yeah
It’s described as smelling like decaying corpses and a hospital
And Cawl starts smashing them and it gets worse lol
tbf the dark eldar's mere existence makes that device a lot less horrible by comparison
Yeah there are a lot worst things in warhammer but people yammer on about that stuff
i know
It’s because it’s memed to death
But yeah Cawl learned the brain merge thing from his master/teacher
Then he torched all her research after copying it
So only he would have it lol
so he found a way to be immortal without using chaos at all
Well she did, he just iterated on her stuff
that's still a rarity in 40k
even primarchs were probably created with warp shenanigans
Cawl also did the whole immortality thing to his friend quovo
Except quovo hates it lol
Cawl is on iteration 89 or something of quovo
see this is the kind of horror that gets me
never technically dying
first iterations probably being horrific
all you know is pain and then non existence
First iteration literally tore his own head off
and also consciousness being so mysterious that it could still feel like one continued existence if the memories are passed on
And also every quovo copy
Has all the memories of the previous one
It’s described as a horrifying existence and quovo literally begs Cawl to just kill him
cawl did not have to do that lmao
what a shithead
this kind of horror gets me because i'm so fascinated with consciousness
Quovo just needs to hit the fent laced cart
Cawl loves quovo too much to let him go lol
It’s like a sick twisted attachment
He just can’t let go of the fact quovo died lol
weird for him to care so much in a setting that probably has an afterlife
He doesnt wanna let go of him
hence why the afterlife part doesnt really matter
also said "afterlife" is where you literally get torn apart by daemons
💀
b-buh-but they said the emperor protects our souls
I do love how when people say that they forget the Emperor basically maybe handpicks like 5 souls to protect out of 13044016942810
lol
lol
meh we won't ever be sure of that
other chaos gods keep souls around to torture forever so why wouldn't the emperor
if he's even a chaos god
also doesnt explain if quovo is even alive at this point still
We entirely know lol
many books go "then he died and daemons consumed his soul"
he isnt a benevolent god
i see that happen to bad people
Nah it happens to loyalists too
especially ones killed by chaos forces/daemons
he literally does not care about 99% of the populace
yay grimdark
its almost like its the trademark of the setting 💀
so anyways isn't it funny how league of votaan could have gone through the entirety of the age of strife without even noticing it was happening
They did notice it happened
and yet they still ended up with a shitty grimdark society
they just didnt care that much
and their society isnt that grimdark
they are way too segregated to be under one umbrella term for a society
they're all clones who venerate overloaded windows 98 computers like ancient ancestors
i call that pretty grimdark
And guardsman are all faceless mooks who go and die in droves
theres more to them than this
in both cases lol
kinda boring that they're descendants of humans
removes some of the uniqueness of dwarves
Jay I thought we took away your opinion privileges
but also funny in its own way since their relationship with the imperium is unique
probably the best origin story that wouldn't have banished them into the xeno realm
"oh they were just chilling in the galactic core this whole time" is both so stupid but also the best way to introduce a new non imperial faction
is there any prominent fantasy race that hasnt been introduced into 40k at this point?
He holds into his opinion like a space marine fan holds to the belief that space marines are the goods guys
Trying to pry it off of him is probably a damnation level dark tide mission
skaven and lizardmen
maybe old ones
there's no way they're not adding skaven at some point
There's no point of adding skaven
Orks literally fill their niche
Unlikely
ok hear me out
No
you know that story with the humans who worship orks on a planet
My hobby knfie has tasted blood
and they just dig underground and found a necron thing
those people
mutate to become rats
because necron energy
which makes them all insane
while gaining some ork and necron power
so they have power crystals and the power of fuckery
I need to ask your supplier what he delivers to you because what the hell are you smoking
11th edition comes out, orks main enemy of the starter box
new gazgul book
introducing followers of the rat
he uses them in the book
sales go up
john workshop makes millions
you know im right

Dils, forget the taser
Pass me the Grox electrifier
it's called a grox prod
Annihilate his nut sack
Chat we got an ice dweller in the group chat
Abelard, crush his knees
Skaven got disected 3 ways already, they fit in with chaos, orks and the imperium
they'd step on too many toes if they got added
the imperium are the skaven of 40k
Orks copy a lot more of their gimmicks in my opinion
Numbers? Check
Unstable technology? Check
Funny speaking? Check
A very unstable hierarchy?
Check as well
so does the imperium lol
They don't do funny speak
Orks don't deal much into the tech that is corrupting them (Warpstone and radiations)
Nor much in drugs
It's still unstable technology that often is quite better than the average humie tech
the imperium on the other hand has drugs for days lol
Like that's what their technology Schtick
Drukhari, imperials, craftworld eldar, chaos
i get your point E. Wolf
but have you considered money
Breaking news Vahallan Jay mini deemed as the worst miniature ever made by mankind
wow rude
at least i have a mini
What can i say this chat made me this way
If 40k was to get a new faction it'll be new SM anyway

That's not a high order
Jay do you really want me to be racist
Are you sure you want to go that way?
im sorry
Good
Its technically an oudated design hence the modern ripper models from the miniatures being applied to the game, was probably seen as more marketable
what the fuck are these
its like a grease gun mixed with a high res camera
Ogryns with ripper guns
I know it looks very f****** different
they look liek they are gonna talk about their trucking buisness
Merciless aren't we
You mean the generic pub guy look?
Yeah
Yeah it's definitely there
it can get worse.
one of the OG ogryns with some kind of pistol
Then you have the very old school rippergun
This was the first one made.
This particular Ripper gun is known to be the Foe Rend Pattern. Meaning we could technically have the other ripper guns because they are other patterns.
Tbh if we get a new Ripper Gun family I think it'll be a Ripper Saw and not anything else
this has prolly been asked thousand times but whats the possibility of adding other chaos god servants to fight?
Lorewise, not low
There have been cases of multiple cults working together before
i understand slaneesh would be likely too x-rated to depict properly, and tzeentch will likely make for an awesome lore-related segments or singular enemies, but Khorne would fit perfectly. I even thought at first some enemies were khornites
Khorne is doable but there have been no hints of them yet
The main issue is how easily the other cults can summon daemons. Also bloodletters have the ability to short distance teleport and have been known to kill space marine squads single handedly. The reason we are fighting Nurgle from both research and from what I've been told is because he is one of the weakest chaos gods unless the plague spreads to an insane amount on a planet.
Yes, as I said, lorewise it could be added, but it's not a small endeavour.
But any of the chaos god could have a cult made to fit to the faction formula
And Slaanesh isn't just sex, so not too x-rated
That is a ork with ahead swap
The only khorne reference in this game is player character (zealot)
I think?
Maybe the veterans have mentioned khornate berserkers somewhere
Nurgle is in no way the weakest Chaos God
kitbash idea: Ogryn Commandos
Like he is currently the most active and all of the lesser Daemons are as strong as the others
Didn’t his garden get burnt after plague wars
Just a small part, and it already grew back as if nothing happened
He's the weakest god in terms of initial startup. It takes him much longer to gain power in a system then others, but when he gets a full plague going and nurgles garden pops up, his followers become nearly unstoppable. Atoma is in a pre-plague stage and hasn't even gotten to Nurgle's Garden yet, and we keep burning anything that gets close to a nurgle's garden and because of this we can thwart him before it becomes too powerful. With other cults like Khorne, simply killing people can earn favor and spawn their daemons. Slaanesh daemons are easily summoned. Nurgle is the only god where most of his daemons require a special condition to summon and they are pretty slow, sluggish, or otherwise easy to out manuever if you can find a way.
I can't say weakest, in fact Nurgle's influence is the least subtle and most influental without the necessity of someone being actually controlled. As far as I understood you could simply be exposed to a desiese that is designed to make you go insane and change your brain chemistry. At least thats how I see it (headcannon) for nurgle "followers" to be the main enemy type here
You can easily write cults that mirror the current cultist (or Traitor Guard) cast without much issue
The weakest if we want to do it would be Slaanesh and Tzeentch
tzeench is extremely subtle
Tzeentch legit has the ability to actually delete people through temptation alone. It was proven in one of the Warhammer + shows. He is extremely powerful and usually never exposes himself. If there was a tzeentch uprising we would never know until it is too late. Tzeentch is one of those very "pre-planned till the very end" kind of cults and if they get early exposed they will get deleted almost instantly so it wouldn't be a good thing to fight.
But you can create a tide faction from a Tzeentch cult
It's not impossible and there are mirriads of different cults that work differently
Not really, considering most of their followers are people with knowledge it would be like scholars, priests, and monarchs who control large sway. The reason why I think tzeentch wouldn't work is because how their cults function.
Bloodletters aren’t killing marine squads solo by themselves, maybe as a group
There are for example cults of tzeentch in fantasy that basically are just rabbles of mutants that fight for their freedom
At least not commonly
All the lesser Daemons are suited as over Elites, like the Ogryns
Tabletop rules are immaterial
There’s a lot of fucky stuff to make the game balanced
Just so you know there are cult of Khornes where they are very few in numbers and basically act as assassins, but also other where they are hordes of maniacs with axes and tools to fight with
yeah but that's fantasy. 40k gods are much different than fantasy, and more importantly tzeentch uprising rarely ever fail, and if they do they fail fast because they don't usually convert military, they convert the people in power with great knowledge so most of the cultists would be very basic humans and would be easily thwarted. It's a pretty all or nothing kind of scenario with tzeentch when it comes to a cult.
I never argued that khorne doesn't amass hordes, only that their daemons are easily summoned and are more lethal than any other of the chaos gods daemons.
physically lethal
I should say
in melee they are unmatched and at times suicidal
standard guardsmen stand no chance.
it's stated that bloodletters can kill a squad of guardsmen in minutes and sometimes seconds. So even though we are elite rejects a simple bloodletter would be like a miniboss as a fight and that's their lesser daemon equivalent.
A tzeentch follower would make a good storywise stuff if we have a traitor on board or something like that. A khorne follower would pretty much be the easiest to make, heck a barebones version would be to reskin whats already available. A slaneeshi cult though, thats something I don't see how it would even fit in the game, even lorewise. Im not talking about x-rated stuff as sex, more like the broader aspect of hedonistic thoughts, but still can't see it how it will fit the game
Also with nurgle half of their daemons can't even be fielded without Nurgles Garden. Plague Bringers, Plague Toads, Nurglings, Bloat Flies, all these daemons require nurgles garden while the other cults don't have special conditions to summon their daemons.
I'm not gonna bother trying to explain further, any of the god's follower can have a cult that is made to work like the current factions do. If you have further questions ask Dilara
i dont understand why this program always wants to create an asscrack on my models
Thing is even though slaanesh isn't just sex, sex is a major part in their summoning rituals. Mainly requiring ecstasy of a high degree, while artists, enthusiasts, and others can be followers of slaanesh they don't give as much favor as those who engage in sex like cults.
Looks like all the under worlds stuff is tasting the axe, which I don’t oppose tbh
i fixed the asscrack
Thank fuck the exalted chariot is taking the bin, that kit is the worts thing ever conceived
It’s sucj a bad kit
I understand what you mean. As a base any of the cults can be like the initial dark tide cult, and I won't argue against that. I will argue that the other cults have less weaknesses than nurgle, and in the lore it states how powerful their lesser daemons are while nurgle can't even spawn lesser daemons without a Nurgles Garden which requires time for the plague to spread and effort of worship which we keep thwarting which is essentially resetting the spawn timer.
Idk what more to say for it's pretty easily understood why we are fighting nurgle and it was even stated that the other Chaos Gods might be more problematic than the one we are fighting.
i might actually finish this model by the end of the week
The only reason we're fighting Nurgle is that FS know Nurgle like no other.
Chaos Cults are as strong or as weak as the narrative decide them to be
All I can tell you is Nurgle was chosen for a reason other then the other gods. There was a lot of lore discussion why they didn't go with the other Chaos Gods, and if you have questions it is probably better to ask their team if you can since most of this was decided by GW and their team together.
FS worked with GW to even get this game Published, and it was stated in one of their Dev Talks before the game was released that there were reasons they chose nurgle. Even though vermintide was nurgle based that doesn't mean they went with Nurgle in Darktide because of familiarity.
if only they went with khorne to have a doom type game 😔
They never have explained why they picked Nurgle over another faction. Neither officially nor casually.
This is all assumptions on both of our parts
The only thing they've said is that they didn't pick GSC cause they were to similar in builds to Skaven iirc
There have been many talks about guard vs the other gods, and while yes it is logical that the cults can be as weak or as strong as the narrative through research and talking with others there has been a mutual agreement that Nurgle is the best thing for guard to fight considering the Lore. Even though the other cults could work in theory the Lore states how much they struggle fighting the other cults, and one thing I can say is unless you own the Books I wouldn't rely on Wiki's because they don't keep their lore updated they mix and mash old and new lore and sometimes aren't always 100% accurate.
Also by "Mutual agreement" I don't me by me or by anyone here. I mean by people who own the books and have done research this has been mutually agreed apon.
Lets take 2 assumptions:
- No 2 cult is identical, both inside a god's influence and outside
- Darktide is made into a gated sub-setting made to let FS and GW make anything they want, through the writings of Dan Abnett
Those 2 assumptions are what matter here
It's not taking an outside cult and checking if they could work in DT
It's writing a cult to a different god that would fit the narrative
Past/Known cults don't effing matter
There are ways to write a Khornate/Slaaneshi/Tzeentchian cult that opperate as a tide of trash, even if they're controlled by a more "noble" inner circle
I mean it was stated by one of the mods here that FS doesn't have any control over that anyways. Most of their stuff is dictated by what GW says. If they say no to a Blood Cult than that's what happens. So in all truthfulness it's not really anyone but GW's decision. By a logical view point the other cults would have severe advantages over the guard, but if GW says "Why Not" then yeah I guess it could work.
Yes, GW has a veto power, it's why FS work with GW and Dan Abnett
And why GW is also known in their BL books to make different cults that work in ways that are needed for the narrative
I personally don't know much about the cults, but I talked to a friend of mine who has done thorough research and owns most of the books. From his stand point he says Nurgle is a logical fight and possible win for the Guard, but they'd struggle against the other gods. So if they did make the other cults they'd somehow have to lose access to lesser daemons because they can be easily summoned and are very powerful. If nurgle could summon plague bringers and plague toads we would be equally fucked fighting them as we would a bloodletter but nurgle requires a special condition. So they'd have to come up with a good reason as to why they don't have access to their lesser daemons.
Daemons of 1 god aren't easier to summon that those of the others
It all depend on the Warp essence that is already on the world
I'd be more easily convinced of genestealers than another chaos god cult being on Atoma. Either way, It'd have to be allied with the nurglite scabs and dregs because FS hasn't done anything with 2 enemy factions being hostile towards one another. This could be hand waved away easily with a alliance or pact of sorts, stranger things have happened.
Heck if anything Nurgle is the one known to summon Daemons the most easily
The rituals are different but nurgle is the only one that specifically states it requires access to the Garden which needs time to grow and requires a specific level of contagion to even begin to grow. The others can make blood rituals, ecstacy rituals, and idk what tzeentch does. They can be thwarted but they can have multiple of them in one area, and summoning a bloodletter is as easy and killing a bunch of dudes in a ritual circle.
Any chaos god and their followers can snowball out of control and get a win, theres no varying degrees of "we can win this" against them when the fight is so immeasurable with so many factors at play.
Chaos Daemon codexes showcase show a cult of any god can just take over a planet and defeat any resistance sent against it without breaking too much sweat, and the complete opposite can happen just as much, so its pointless to try to "tier" them.
If that were true then there should already be plaguebringers in Darktide and Plague toads, and Nurglings. The only logical conclusion is the garden isn't ready to begin that level of development.
Or its just a game

Mate that's wrong
You can both summon daemons through "natural" means (Growing corruption; great amount of slaughter; lots of Psyker stuff happening; Slaanesh I forgot it) or by ritual
Which is what is happening in the game with the BoN
^
Again
theres not really any solid "rule" with this
The basic process is just get gatherings, mass around, and summon daemons through any kind of ritual the writer will plop in there.
Or you know
It's not about lore and more about the unit needing to be modeled, animated, balanced...
That's a possibility.
But it's pretty late in the game and to not have lesser daemons is weird. Also the Beast of Nurgle counts as an abberration and it was stated that it is one of the only spawn that can be ritually summoned because it doesn't require Nurgles Garden to exist.
Wait remembered for Slaanesh, we've got 4 I think revealed:
- Specific art forms
- General debauchery
- Excessive drug production
- Excessive Pride
I don't know who told you that
But they're not correct
I read it.
Summoning Nurgling is vastly easier than summoning a BoN
I really dont get why you are being so tied to the "garden" idea.
I don't know where you've read it
Also we got no idea how "early" or "late" it is in the game
Daemonic summon ritual from Codex: Chaos (1996)
Khorne shall be called with blood.
Aksho Kharneth Akhash
Slaanesh shall be called with anguish.
Aksho Slaaneth K'khaa
Tzeentch shall be called with fire.
Aksho Tzeeneth Phaos
Nurgle shall be called with death.
Aksho Nurgleth Dh'Akh
The door is unlocked, Daemons of Chaos I call thee forth.
Ksy'Iakash Dhaos Akhamshy'y Khaos Akso'mi!
The Nurgle part of this ritual is written in the Dark Tongue graffiti across many missions.
idk the point I'm making it's jsut a fun fact
Its really not that big of a deal either way tbh
This feels like just another case of overthinking too much over a basic premise
Either way there are only beasts of nurgle, and idk why there aren't others. BoN would indeed take more time but from what I've read it can be summoned through ritualistic means why the others seem to require Nurgle's Garden. I'm not tied to the "garden idea" it's what I read. They require certain mutations from the Garden to be able to spawn from filth and bile produced from the Plague Garden.
It all end up to what FS want to do and what GW will allow
Because game.
We are here to fight mostly mortal enemies, not daemons.
also humans are more fun to kill lol
Plaguebearer are noted to be able to sprung out of filth
It was stated that filth comes from the excretement of nurgles garden.
I think lesser Daemons make sense as uber elites
Yeah and again we arent too deep into the invasion
There's a plaguebearer skull in the final arena area of the Hourglass in the refinery delta mission
at best probably months
the phage tree seems like something from nurgle's garden. Might be worse stuff in the deep hive depths
Yes the Scab are just starting to react to the Reject's since the Traitor Curse update
That skull could've come from anywhere, and is probably a ritual device used to summon Beasts of Nurgle. The Moebians left and came back with a plague so they could've gotten the skull from those who corrupted them.

Theres also some miniature-based nurgle daemon-bongs

Bong ? Like the weed pipes ?
Gong ?
The phage tree was still growing it was pretty close to becoming nurgles garden but we managed to thwart it.
The Asiatic instrument maybe ?
which could play into the narrative of why there isn't daemons yet.
Fair

nurgle got that stinky sticky icky
we smoking premium plague kush
We Also aren't the only team going out and destroying the cults stuff. The atoman guard also do stuff on the frontlines while we are always doing missions, and they have agents who are put on missions as well.
We are the ones getting sent into the thickest and most crucial stuff still
since we are by now a proper inquisitorial kill-team
The arguement was there could be multiple phage trees which is true but there could've been some destroyed on the frontlines, or by other agents.
Yeah I know.
the mission also says it will regrow so 💀
yeah we just gotta come back before it becomes an entire garden.
But still even without the tree there can be Daemons being summoned on world
I think the main reason we don't see nurglings is because we haven't seen one plaguepriest around or plague sorceror. They usual make the inscriptions to summon those kinds of daemons, but there aren't any around.
Another mystery.
- Game Development is hard
Or that they've not found an appropriate way to use them
They teased a guy who seemed to be a sorcerer a while ago in the vox links
Like Nurgling don't really work well as an enemy
the moebians also got psykers according to Wolfer
Way too small to work properly
could be possible that the daemons are being used on the frontlines, but nurglings are known to be attached to filth and the garden so they should be everywhere if the plague has spread as much as it seems.
Yea Nurgling would probably just be annoying to fight
lore-accurate reason here lmfao
could make the nurgling a bundle blob like they did in total war warhammer
something like this
just make them a blob mob
The blob
easier said than done
that thing as the devs said was a nightmare to animate
lmao
That's what I was thinking of, it would just be annoying to fight plus like how do you make it work?
Like where's the headshot?
Vermintide 2 halloween event has nurglings. I doint think wed actually "fight" them
oh yeah it'd take work I won't lie, but if they are thinking about them being too small this is one way to compensate.
That won't be as easy here as it was there
Rts can treat the entity as a whole
Here they would need to be able to animate them together, but at the same time treat them as individual
Yes, they are critters
If I shoot one specifically do all the others just fall over dead for no reason?
Do you have to target each individual nurgling in the mob?
Critters or side objectives is the only really easy to use them
I guess the question is how much we want to compensate. They could just share the hp through the whole blob and when the hp is depleted they all just die.
I could see Nurglings being like the idols you shoot, except they can run away
Or maybe something like the loot rat
A Nurgling that's been hoarding ammo crates or something

I don't think I would want to take any ammo from a creature composed entirely of magic filth
Insert reddit joke here
Also the bell man
Ringing the Bell does damage
imagine that as a boss
I believe there is one in that space marine game.
Boltgun?
There's 4
one is fought at the same time as a Lord of Change, and a powerful chaos sorcerer
Malum Caedo is the only thing holding that section of the imperium together
Great unclean one being planetside would literally be apocalyptic lore wise tbh
Yeah but fatman
I want my face to melt off the moment I get within 100 meters
this shit plauged Mortarian
Our rejects have been built different so far, why not
Nah we definitely lose
Would be cool to see a nurgling though
What kinda city is it
its in ghur, realm of beasts. It is inside the skeleton of a dead whale god
its a port city
someting like Nanuletach might be better
easier on the eyes and mouth while sounding beastier
🐐
true, would the moby dick refrence be obvious enough tho?
Lmao i think it hides it well enough
fair
and remember a lot of people when it comes to Moby Dick only catch onto names like Ahab
aka ones that are more forefront
I had no idea it was a reference until Mag said it lol
lmao see
the server i mod for caught teh refence
pff
Is Moby Dick a common read outside the US?
Kind of
I always think of it as an American book
i think it sbecause she lives near the city its naemd after
It's a cool name though plus what Dilara said! I fw the idea
i mean
the ltieral city it is
i forgot nantucket is a real city
the whale god they live in is literally named Mobic Dwellen
always remind yourself warhammer is never subtle with references
you got an Inquisitor named Emil Darkhammer
ultimate cheese
🧀
Funny that some brilliant minds of the Imperium think the Monkey had a scorpion tail and thought Leonardo Da Vinci was a genius from his journal.
pfff
Monkeys are already terrifying enough, I think if they had scorpion tails it would be Planet of the Apes
Now I gotta write a cultur
I wrote about food habits
I’m thinking of doing the depressed fishermen vibe
angron
sherlock obi wan
mortarion
fabius bile
horus (bald)

are there any full-on gsc worlds?
Yes
Theres one that the hive fleet never came for
and won't be coming for?
It’s a noted phenomenon
Sometimes they get wiped out by the imperium
“Pilgrims”
Others try to spread
I guess
i have the best hair you'd find in 1 million people on this planet
and that is a fact
There’s millions of bald people this means nothing!
both very voluminous and a rare colour
older women always remind me how jealous they are
Oh god they’re a ginger aren’t they
legit
bald people are better than balding people
in terms of looks
like just commit to it
would be nice to hear more about the "protocol" our rejects mention often
We can infer some stuff
eternal you're bald
Mfw I’m looking at a blind person
my retinas partly detached from all the guard artillery shaking me around
Brother got the eternal forehead
sup lore chat
Nooo they removed the coolest part of the Wilderfiend in the new edition
It used to be able to come back to life whenever a friendly hero died, but they took that ability away
are storm bolters considered rare tech
i ask because if the astra militarum uses them then they can't be that rare
Yeah Id consider them to be uncommon equipment
