there's some inqusitors pet blank who didn't fall either
either way great odds!
GW never followed up but I'm 100% sure anyone who didn't fall probably got killed
did the custodes not fall because the sister of silence protected them or are they just built different
also brave of you to think lore custodes wouldn't kill every single traitor with their pinky fingers
I think they were literally built different
Though them being around blanks might have helped keep them "sane"
since going insane/turning into an insane khorante cultists were 2 different parts of it
this yeah
Yea not everyone became a Khorne Cultist, some just went crazy and started killing everything around them, while others stayed sane enough to become cultists instead.
i think it's like a hard coded lore rule that custodes cannot stop being loyalist
What is probably the strongest thing a normal human being could beat in 40k?
Assuming weapons and armor/accessories but not vehicles I guess
A greater daemon
Even great unclean ones?
assuming the proper gear yeah
if its like heavily sanctified and purified
maybe its got a ton of runes all over it ect.
Human beings built different ig
tbh realistically
inquisitors are normal ass people and some are insane
any single "normal" of a species in theory
could kill a greater daemon
with the proper equipment, training, insanity
luck
ect. lol
writer
LOL
The elephant in the room that I didn't want to acknowledge LMAO
stan lee explained a similar thing
what do writers do with power levels and super heros
the answer is: whatever lets the plot progress
Where does batman get kryptonite from? Who fucking knows
tabletop wise you'll find some people with stories of their cultist finishing off a demon
But it happens so rarely
that I usually don't mind it happening
regarding a Greater Daemon getting killed by a "normal" person
normally it just ends with everyone dying horribly lol
I beat magnus to death with 20 skitarii rangers
L ratio depth perception
there's also the fact that archeotech alone can let a normal human become a god
there's like no limit to what you could make up from the dark age
If old tech so strong then how'd they lose with it
literally the gamma pistol i'm making for elitewolf is said to be able to pierce whole fucking concrete bunkers
equally strong abominations which we will never know of because GW has no balls
OH I just remembered a thought I had earlier, does Tzeentch influence all obsessively innovative people? Or is it kind of a random occurrence thing?
Because I feel like Cawl being who he is would have been attempted to be influenced multiple times
It was hilarious when in 7e it had APX as in it just ignored all normal armor saves lol
amazing
straight up shoots the same type of radiation you'd receive from starbursts
It got toned down to AP-3
But it’s still pretty much just death to be shot by bcs it has 3D lol
a miniature fucking stellar event
in the palm of your hand
mechanicus gear is crazy
https://youtu.be/25SPhNpWIhk?si=Mxnci39L0jRfxn67
replacing a guardsman's laspistol with a gamma pistol as a joke
i find overpowered pistols very funny
Lol
@arctic talon which part of this do you think is the magazine
i cant decide whether it's a revolver sort of deal or it's like a power rod
It’s just treated as normal laser weapon
In terms of how it works
Actually I don’t even think there’s a visual laser
that's even scarier
yeah its depicted as having a really bright flash and then the orks head just goes missing
fucking awesome
but its like the whole central thing gets removed
and then replaced
the Episode is called Kill Protocol
i cant watch sadly
Oof
what if instead of adeptus astartes they were called adeptus freakstartes
now that we have first person boltgun and pistol models in vermintide, what would a realistic size estimate of a bolt be in-lore now? I know there was a chart that showed the horrific mismatch between art and reality, but now that we have more human sized models
In vermintide???
The good ending
I would say pretty big since a magazine of 15 for the bolter is larger than a hand and wrist iirc
yeah, i was thinking something like maybe 20mm?
It’s like fatter then a 20mm
I could definitely see that working I think
fatter than 20mm huh? damn i wonder how they can manage to fit those into magazines that a normal person can carry lol
Joey balls
officially it's 75 caliber but there's no fucking way
models always have bullets of all kinds be 10 times bigger than expected
75 caliber is kinda small tbh
and the art follows the models
Muskets use that caliber
20mm would be like..... 78 caliber? So I wasn't too far off
Oh so my hunch was about on the money
using caliber is an extremely british move
but 20mm always felts right to me too
literally just saw some goober on youtube act like 75 caliber isnt that big
For real life context, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denel_NTW-20 is an irl 20mm anti material rifle
That, but in a handheld bolter that fires in full auto with gyrojets that explode??
If we were to believe a Boltgun is too big for the average human to handle, then yes 75 kinda smoll because humans can handle that
That's the justification for why humans can hold them without going prone and snapping their arms?
I would assume human pattern bolters use .75 call, aren't space marine pattern bolters significantly bigger? Like significantly?
Oh true actually, so that throws out my theory of there being different calibers of bolts...
Well he's built different but that's still insane
They also said bolters were caseless, so idk, it's probably a consistency issue more than anything
everything in 40k is caseless because writers dont understand what that means
Yea it is most likely a consistency issue because I think a caseless rocket propelled round would just explode lol
autoguns are supposedly caseless
Ignoring the big ole ejection port
In the writers defense... lasguns are caseless :p
Speaking of las
recoil?
is that the one used by solar auxilia
Yes
When I'm in a "talk about things I don't know" challenge and my opponent is writers
All writers just go with the rule of cool
Caseless sounds cool
Just like how a bunch of dumbass gangs can make a jetbike but a bunch of spacemarines cant
in the space marine's defense they're stupid
Civilian hover vehicles aren’t that rare, the issue is making something that can take a hit properly or function in a warzone
The esher bike is squishy as hell lol
they got one better
I feel like the whole technology lost bit would work if they also justify some stuff as just being obsolete
Tbh
dumbest looking space marine vehicle prize
Some stuff is obsolete in terms of practical application
Like how a fellblade just isn't practical for chapter doctrine
Volkite is arguably obsolete tbh
Oh that’s canon
The fellblade is still producible
It’s just not used at all because why would a chapter use it
fellblade is one thing
There was a new fellblade made for a chapter as a celebration
people dont talk about this thing enough
Also applies to the mastodon and Spartan tbf
if you're below 15 years old dont look
This isn’t a Cawl vehicle fun fact

It's ok the space marine doesn't need any protection on the back his armor will save him /s
Tbf primaris aren't bound to chapter numbers anymorr
This fucking sucks though
Which is a soft retcon GW did
Ig
The 1000 marine thing only refers to marines specifically tied to a company
To be fair warhammer 40k is a series about retcons
it's almost like girlyman was wrong
Happens less often then you think
He did say he was wrong on 1k
I'm still remembering how necrons went from skynet to Egypt
That’s like
almost making his brother turn renegade somehow didnt give him a clue
But Necrons are an actual retcon to an existing faction
guy contributed nothing to the defense of terra and thinks he gets to be imperator of space machine
Yes its funny playing dow 1 and seeing the necrons there
I actually like the necron retcon mind you it's just very big
Oh it’s huge
Tbf it’s not one anyone’s going to stop you rn if you have a chapter of more then 1k
You might be
Necron retcon is recentish
which retcon
Making them not space skynet
Yeah it’s recent history
get over it
Smh so was I probably
We aren't complaining about it though...?
im about to pop a gasket
Ohh haha
lol
I was gonna be like damn
But the most retcon’d thing in 40K is tau ftl

Literally got retcon’d every other codex up until 9e
New tau retcon makes them giga chads in melee but bad in ranged combat
Lol
good thing they dont impact main story at all
The tau mattered in uh
Warzone charadon
Because they ended up delaying death guard reinforcments
The real unrealistic part of darktide is how the strike team isn't immediately executed upon returning to their ship because their exposure to nurgle-itis would absolutely infect them and doom them with super duper space death disease 900
Tbh
This looks like someone’s shitty homebrew or a shitpost
Oh true actually
This is how we will reclaim the stars.
biblically accurate baneblade
We are built different
We just have covid masks on tbh and it protects us
we were just talking about this a few hours ago lol
Biblically accurate repulsor executioner
it's weird because the game acknowledges the fact that we're normies fighting nurgle
Built better
The emperor protects
I’d assume the tear in reality isn’t too horrific yet
So the poxwalkers and plague zombies aren’t like
Absurdly infectious yet
She’s going to get jobbed
I also like to imagine that after every strike mission is a 2 week quarantine in the ship, as well as other "sanitization" processes
I think it's just a grey zone, AFAIK no media goes into great depth about what imperial soldiers deal with in the aftermath of a battle with nurgle forces
im making the power rod sepperate so you can paint it then slide it in a hole on the bottom btw
seems like it would be hard to paint it otherwise
going to find a way to make the cylinder swappable
so you can do some cool reloading
do you have a clip of the guy reloading in the show
damn shit looks magnetized
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO6vyd0jUHA What are these "Warp Echos" btw? Where do you hear them ingame?
Collection of mysterious quotes that are heard when solving a Martyr puzzle and collecting its Martyr Skull. Enjoy!

they are the paranormal manifestation of the loyalist members of the 6th appearing around Tertium with the barrier between reality and the Warp getting thinner
Prayer and lots of soap
Stink twink
shush
so after having tried the karnak twins fight, i wonder just what connection Zola seems to have with Wolfer
Has to be something related to her past
yeah that does seem to be what is implied
After all that's the part where she doesn't really talk about a lot
Common relationship

Anyone here play destiny 2? Is the new dlc as good as everyone is saying online? Ive quit for a year and the fomo withdrawals are really starting to kick in.
if you were the designated heavy weapons guy of your guardsman squad, which weapon would you prefer?
melta gun, grenade launcher, plasma gun or flamer
wait a second
why does lasgun get rapid fire but not drum fed autogun
it has two attacks by default
oh
i'd go with grenade launcher
probably the least likely weapon to blow up in my hands
Not that we know of.
And unlikely to be the case tbh

wait are fantasy and 40k connected? since chaos gods are in both
Nah
Not at the moment
yeah i doubt she would be acting this way if Wolfer was this Biron
thanks.
Or that Wolfer/Biron would act as he does
yeah
the only way that could work is if Wolfer is just a nickname Biron was using
and given the whispers i doubt an officer would be called by his nickname to new recruits
actually why is there "warhammer 40k" and "warhammer fantasy"
Why not just "warhammer (40k)" and "[new IP name]"
they are so different, why even use the same warhammer name?
because fantasy came first and at first 40k was called rogue trader
and rogue trader was a sci fi spin off of fantasy
Wasn't Rogue Trsder the 2nd name ?
2e is when warhammer 40k became the official name afaik
And 40k the 3rd
seems so weird its a spin off, the writer made alot of things different right?
Even the tone of the lore from what i read off wikis when im bored is very different
im assuming, from a practical / realistic standpoint the writer had it as a spinoff the get people who know fantasy to read the origina lrogue trader?
or was it actually a spinoff
Apparently RT was the 1st name
Spin off from TT. Not lore
old 40k was a bit closer to fantasy but yeah the idea was it was a different setting with its own lore but still using the warhammer fantasy stuff
ah that maakes sense.
so like "this game with same ruleset but different lore, so we had it as spinoff"
yeah
i just feel sad.
i like the vibe and lore (again only reading off wikis) of fantasy way more than 40k
but 40k is way more popular
are you guys fans of both?
correction, space marines are way more popular
i know i am at least
WriterS
yes will I prefer warhammer 40K I also like fantasy
Dw Fantasy has the better video games overall
Or well, did
It's kinda equal now
i thought space marines/emperor etc = 40k
AoS is also pretty big
Ed aiming for the low blow
lmao
don't judge me, im not like a "fan"
like i am sure they do for a lot of people
Space marines are disproportionally more popular than basically any other faction
which is a very big problem
its like you interact with something for a bit, then you just correlate it.
Its not like you dive into everything right

ofc
ok now i remember, necrons and uh fak
and GW pushes the space marines the most because they make the most money
whats that weird alien faction called again
Which one
FAK
Tyranids?
the super smart ones would be necrons and tau
eldar are the more magical hit and run specialist type beat
thanks for understanding, some people get very mad if you don't spend time delving into their interests.
after all the technology is literally from psychic bone
AoS deserve such good games
you will get a garbage game and you will like it

yeah its very cringe when people do that and actively harms the community as a whole
Best I can do is weird lite-moba with a AAA pricetag
whats the difference between AoS and fantasy?
from what i just searched and remember.
AoS is about this specific guy fighting chaos?
sounds abitl ike the coming of jesus
AoS is somewhat higher fantasy
AoS is what became of Fantasy after the world was destroyed
In fantasy direct god craziness is mostly limited to the chaos factions
In AoS, the gods quite literally take the field
Exceptions not counted ofc
yeah og fantasy was a more low-fantasy setting, not a lot of magic relatively and a lot more just real world stuff like pikes guns and cannons
You also get stuff like faction-brand chaos warriors
wait so sorry, isn't chaos like actual magic already
yeah
with the warp and all
owning the supernatural forces of chaos with pike and shot tactic is peak
why is it considered low fantasy
There's magic, but it's not as batshit as in AoS
All magic is Chaos
the winds of magic come from chaos
AOS is a very much higher scale of fantasy than old world
in warhammer black orcs are elites and are considered rare assets in AOS they are the basic infantry of one the factions
Well the different flavours/schools of magic you'd use in fantasy are now literal physical realms where everyone lives
^
can you abstract that for me
does that mean everyone can shoot poison out of their hands
Fantasy: Like LotR
AoS: Like DnD realms
okay so like, in object A you have say, a regular farmstead with pigs, and a bright(fire) wizard sets it on fire
okeh
In object B the farmstead is a stone homestead in a blazing hellscape raising Firesheep for their flame resistant fur
Those wizards are still around
But there's no "normal" world anymore, it's all set in element/wind of magic themed worlds
ah Ashqy, what a lovely plane of magic to live on, if you like living in the heart of a star
that is also a volcano
Hey at least it isn't Ghur or Shyish
while you're at it, is it true that in AoS you'll have human cities who allow stuff like orcs an shit to enter and go to the pub or something
Fantasy has 8 wind of magic, which all magic depend on (AND I MEAN ALL), the themes of those winds are: Fire, Metal, Sky/Cosmos, Life/Tree, Beasts, Light, Death, Shadow.
In AoS there are 8 main plane of existances linked by gates themed on those winds
Ghur is just Miyazaki's heaven ofc
Yes
It really says a lot when the skull island of the ******* realms is one of the least worst
Nah nah that's Ghyran
Poison swamp maxing
oh right
Ye
you cross plane of existences uysing warp?
Yeah AoS really isn't for me
Ghur is more of a savana
No through special "maze"
In AoS cross-realm travel is done via magical means or via realmgate
very hard?
Usually there's massive cities/fortress built around realmgates
realtive to the world of course.
im sure everything warhammer is every ahrd and very dangerous
what would allow you access?
The city/fortress being aligned with your Grand alliance probably
Somehow worse to live in then the realm of fire and realm of death
Yes cause they're easily defendable places
Hold on actually
ether rituals and or magic McGuffins to open the gate, then ether friendship with the people on the other side and or a giant ass army
i jkust read that there are 4 grand alliances.
So theres 8 planes right,
Is there multiple of grand allainces gates in each plane or one plane is only owned by 1 GA (and their allies)
Take a tour of the Mortal Realms, learning about their history, notable locations, and unique qualities, from the fiery realm of Aqshy to the savage beauty of Ghur. All the action of Warhammer Age of Sigmar takes place across these strange and terrible lands.
Follow for more Warhammer, more often:
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/warhammer

The alliances don’t really mean anything tbh
There are many gates on every realm, but the biggest crossroad is held by chaos
The Grand Alliances get pretty loose sometimes
The alliances only matter to the cities of sigmar
Oh and soulblight
Otherwise it doenst really come into play
soi not all plane of existence have cities of sigmar?
Nop
hell soulbound parties are thing where a doomseeker can team up with an ironjaw and a Crypt Haunter Courtier
I think Ulgu doesn't have any
Each realm besides rhe chaos ones and the all points have a city
It does, it’s the pirate one
Yeah
Ulgu is pretty chill surprisingly
Misthåvn, the so-called "City of Scoundrels," is one of the most unusual of Sigmar's Free Cities
Yes like a literal vampire lord can just hang out with like a dwarf that wants to kill himself and an ogre, and also a stormcast
But of course they would be getting stairs because well you know
It's a vampire lord and a f****** ogre
what doe souldbouhnd mean
It's a tabletop rpg like dnd
It's basically where individuals are literally bound together by soul
And it can literally be anyone from the three grand alliances as of right now
Like a literal zombie can literally soulbound with an ogre and a elf
why do people get soulbound
It's like dnd it can be reason for adventure and many things
Restoring an artifact from your family looking for things to kill you
Just looking for things you can kill that is bigger than you
Fun stuff
you can literally have a guy be a trade expert looking for adventure go around with a undead skeleton cavalry man
An Ancient Order
The Soulbound are an ancient order dating back to the Age
of Myth — a time shrouded in legend and remembered as
a time of grand alliances, awe-inspiring works of magic,
and the founding of colossal cities. During this time, the
Pantheon of Order created the Soulbound as both servants
of the gods and guardians of the Mortal Realms. As the
Pantheon of Order shattered and the Mortal Realms
descended into the Age of Chaos, the Soulbound faded
out of memory. Now, in a time of utmost need, Sigmar has
called on his godly former allies to join together again and
resurrect the lost order. Many ignored the God-King’s call
but some of the gods answered, and now the Soulbound
once more walk the Mortal Realms.
To be Soulbound is to have your essence entwined with
others, binding your souls together until death. Becoming
Soulbound is a phenomenally painful process, one which
not everyone survives. Those that can endure the agony
are bound together, their souls linking to create a powerful
tether and conduit. This connection allows the Soulbound
to draw upon each other’s essence, protecting them from
the servants of Nagash
While there are Soulbound all across the Mortal Realms,
each Binding is made up of only a handful of individuals and operates independently of other groups. In fact,
most Soulbound have no idea how many groups there
are and where they might be. These smaller groups can
work covertly, slipping into places unnoticed where other
servants of Order may not — performing necessary but
questionable tasks that others may balk at
This is basically just saying that each character has their own reasons to being soul bound
Well yes they are you know there for fighting evil and stuff
each characters that are soul bound can have their own reasons why they would also join this
Like an iron jaw can literally look for a reason of just finding something to kill that is very big and very strong
yeah i read that wiki
yeah honestly right now you can only really play as good guys while you bring along bad guys because like would you really say dark elves are good guys
Honestly soulbound is just a fancy way of saying that you guys are a party the lore for it is there but like I said it's basically just put there for you to build upon and do whatever the hell you want, I don't think a troll would have a lot of very very deep reasons of why he wanted to join along
i forgot they did that thing that genesys gave up on doin
your archetype can be a job isntead of a species
ahhh
i feel fantasy is a 5 year old imagination with writing, crazy fun, crazy and novel ideas, somewaht naive.
warhammer 40k is 12 year old imagijnation with writing, crazy battles, torture etc, very edgy.
Yeah you can have an iron jaw literally be very good at shooting for some reason which is fun
Ulgu is Malerion's realm, Morathi is kinda just everywhere, the Daughters of Khaine have strongholds in all of the realms, including temples and arenas in the Cities of Sigmar.
Are these guys basically trolls
Yeah they’re trolls
Full of minerals. How are they not harvested.
yeah specifically these guys are Stone Trolls
the DLC unit the green skin got
what if instead of imperial fists they were called imperial freaks
iron hands would finally have the monopoly on hand names
imperial fists really have the worst colour scheme huh
i get that founding chapters get the primary colours but why do they get such an ugly yellow
Old Salamander 💀
space marine chapters with actual patterns on their armour is always great to see
sucks to paint but great to see
I’ll say as bad as it is in concept they do make it work despite that
Mostly with copious amounts of drip
yeah black and yellow do be dripping
Bees be like
A more orange yellow suits them more honestly
I love his design, in probably use him for a chapter master
They got that murder hornet drip
And, lets be frank that yellow scheme is probably the most interesting thing they have going for them and what probably brings them fans in the first place, that and sigismund.
Every interesting imperial fist i know is either dead or founded there own chapter, which now that i think about it, is all of them.
Didnt he found his own chapter?
I say this as a former fist fan
They got some good lore, sadly their CMs are a joke and always die
And not even in a way that’s taken advantage of
They are up there in terms of interesting lore next to iron hands honestly
lmao
Hands have plenty of very interesting lore, no one reads it or knows it though. Similar case with Raven Guard
Salamanders also have some good stuff but no one reads that and takes the shit meme lore or fanfic instead
People just go “Ugh I don’t like them they’re mean” and never actually read a book
Right up there with the white scars
All the shattered legions did a lot
They’re directly credited with hugely impeding the traitor advance despite their numbers
Eventually forcing Horus to give Marr a blank check force to deal with them and even then they still did a lot
Yeah, there lore is very rich
It’s jsut it shows up in Kymes shit books and no one reads the FW black books which go into it
So people know at best a vague outline.
Also it’s in a lot of shorts
What chapter?
Executioners
I dont recall them doing much other than being mentioned in the badab war i think
They have some smaller stuff outside hut that’s their main thing yeah
They’re definitely a FW chapter
Its definitely bligh era work
Bligh: “Writes about how there contemptors, leviathans, heresy terminator and tanks are”
Also Bligh: “Every fucking chapter and their mom in FW books has them.”
Can’t blame him though
They’re dope as hell
i prefer the newer ones
they look more like warsuits and less like bunkers on legs
This is what happens when you ask your fridge to divide by 0.
It’s their on switch to kill
Damn, Darktide is much more fun when you're playing with only bots
looks sick
im going full lego with the assembly
tomorrow is grip
probably going to be the hardest part
its very impressive 👀
do you want the grip 1:1 with the original
@arctic talon
it does not look very comfortable
thanks that means a lot from you

I think it being 1 to 1 would be cool even if its uncomfortable to hold
ok
Generally we like to play with people we’re on the same page as

emperor bless Luetin
also he has given me something to ponder, what exactly would a hive city be classified as? they arent true arcologies because they are directly hazardous for the world they are on
Like in a fantasy/sci fi architecture/technology ?
most times they are called arcologies because technically that is what are, fully inclosed cities, but they arent because they dont work in balance with the enviroment which is the whole point of arcologies
true arcologies are built to remove or at least limit the environmental impact of human habitation where as the hive cities of 40k actually amplify said impact
so in a way they are anti-arcologies, doing the exact opposite of what an arcologies is normaally built for
also they require imports like food and minerals if they have factories
im pretty sure hive cities are nowhere near arcologies
whoever decided to use that term is just dumb
they're just big cities
built in a vertical way
the closest thing they'd come to is megacities like in the dredd comics which probably inspired the setting
ofc it did
but they are fully enclosed which is one of the key features of an arcology
frankly i feel hive city will just have to be a classicifcation all its own
wait
there are industrial commissars?
is there much lore on them or is it one of those roles/names that get dropped kinda haphazardly and never expanded on?
Kinda
But they're not a global organisation
Are there language differences between imperial worlds?
Yes, although it varies
Typically everyone speaks some recognizable dialect of low gothic
But accents and slang can make it very different and also there’s local languages
High gothic tends to be a more consistent language but most lower class people probably don’t speak it
It's really funny to me that in some backward planet they speak low gothic like how orks speak it
Like it's just something that can happen
Because they have been cut off from the imperium for so long
Yeah its also for writer convenience, and how in reality even tho they speak english the language would be completely alien to us but since the writers cant bother its auto-translated also for our sakes
even tho every text and scripture is also english minus some latin jargon lol
Me watching a planet speak eldar language way to fluently
I more meant for humans lmao
i pretty much just headcannon Low Gothic as english since literally no author ever realy bothers to delve into it since its basically impossible with a galaxy-spread empire
Yeah and british is canonically ork language making it underground gothic lower than lower gothic
Like orks speak low gothic so brokenly it's not even gothic anymore
It's just its own thing
pretty much
making languages is hard and 40k doesnt bother with it at all so its whatever
Yeah you can only butcher and craft together so many languages to make a unique one for your setting

Yeah was wondering because in the book im reading its mentioned how a character would swear in “the spire tongue of her birth hive”
Ork language is actually a different thing entirely
It’s just a good amount of Orks speak low gothic too
But Orks actual language is like grunts and snarls and stuff
But as said it’s mostly ignored because it’s boring to talk about and narratively it’s more fun if everyone can understand eachother
To be fair a lot of their speaking is low gothic
They literally borrow the good chunk of the language from the imperium
yes the grunt system is still there
You have to be coherent to insult someone after all
Well as coherent as a green brute clad jn armor is
I mean Orks language is a distinct thing but they use low gothic depending. Also it just depends on if the author wants to do goofy Orks or not, we don’t actually see Orks talking with non Orks a ton in books.
In most non Ork pov books though they don’t talk much if at all
Ghaz is the primary exception to this.
Yeah the only one i know was from mike brooks with the dark eldar and Ulfthak
( I know you hate him but just listen to me )
Both of them speak to each other at low gothic
they're not even necessarily fully enclosed, that's just in worlds where the environment around the hive cities isn't survivable. it's really not that special imo
you could say that an actual skyscraper is fully enclosed. it doesnt mean anything
arcologies are much more than just that
Yeah basically its just:
-
Imperium's language is Low and High Gothic, with many sub-dialects of it own sometimes appearing in books but its not that big of a thing.
-
Most human planets will have their own language of varying kinds.

Realistically some Imperial worlds would have almost thousands of dialects due to their culture and whatnot but this is mostly handwaved as either them just not really ever letting go of it or more or less just being largely "colonized" by the Imperium and Low Gothic becoming common place for the normal folks while the elite get to speak in High Gothic.
It gets a bit complex but you really shouldnt care for the most part since like i said 40k writers cannot understand the concept of how languages work lol so its not that big of a deal
They barely understand a lot of the stuff they tackle
Space combat evolution
ahhh i see
Funny stuff that is
Yeee basically.
Even when you try to press a language onto a totally different culture its more or less impossible to wipe said language out unless you start making the native speakers go extinct or something
cough cough
To be clear I do think Brooks has some good stuff and good ideas, I just end up hating his need to pander to the online community and memes. As well as some other stuff.
But stuff like that is fun yeah.
Planet of hats syndrome
Although there’s a reason it exists, it’s hard and annoying to come up with a shitton of different groups for every damn planet
Me when writing requires effort
but also yeah not everyone can be english professors
I think my english is starting to become like that of an ork at this point
I forget turkish words sometimes because i use english so much in my daily life lol
so i can relate
i dont fully agree. french has been almost wiped out in acadian areas of the US because it was forbidden in the education system decades ago. it's only now coming back with a lot of effort from a few groups. native irish language almost went the same way
yo nerd chat
turkish cousin of big bird from sesame street flash bang
shit forgot majority of people here are from the EU
"Unless you start making native speakers go extinct" is literally that lol
it doesnt have to be physically killing someone
You have an overly optimistic view of the writing skills of English professors
IM TALKING ABOUT TOLKIEN YE DUMMY

yeah i just wouldn't compare it to say, whatever the fuck my government did to the native population
it's like a soft killing
Pretty much.
ya'll weird
Its the most insidious way to eliminate a society
fix yourselfs
silence brit

i wish i was brit so i could vote for count binface
Yeah in turn i will keep calling you a grot
hey at least we didnt elect the Tories lmao
Imagine caring about the Brit bongers elections and politics
tru
.....
long live the queen
the UK is never gona live that 14 year stent of utter stupidity down
Yes they will, no one cares about what happened after two elections
People’s memories are short
sadly true
we like goldfish frfr
Me when 40k fanbase
most goldfish have longer memories
That rapunzel looking b**** needed to be turned into a f****** red puddle
our attention spans averages out to 8 seconds
I literally parried him to death
like I only parried him
i had the idea to sell my 40k models and give like 10% of the proceeds to trans kid charities to balance out the community a bit
||because he is in Mogh's body and Mogh was smaller than Radahn||
‘guys!!!! remember when a space marine said a guardsmen was brave and awesome!!! It was so cool!!!’
The man beat the allegations
I mean yes starting a cult that uses blood so potently it can rival magic from god's is bad but hey at least he didn't do the other stuff
lmao
but that still has his soul in it
Bro that video is driving me insane
PITY THE GUARDSMAN
like transfer over
Pity yourself
Pity harder then
what sane warhammer fan doesnt?
Cadia falls, the rift grows, and brother, I sacrifice people
Honestly at this point i just gave up a pitying guardsman, yes it's sad but like come on
Pity is for the weak, I’m not gonna feel anything kicking your ass.
not me
How many times do people need to remind me of doing that because they are apparently so cool because they are human fighting in a galaxy where monsters live
Can we have a allegations beaten sticker?
I also do that, i live in Turkey
you can tell the type of 40k fan you're talking to when they refer to the imperium with "we"
LOL
Maybe this would be cool if like, the imperium lost a fight
do ya'll have turkeys?
why do they call turkey turkey if its not the birthplace of turkey?
Mods sticker please
Why are you asking that things like the greenland and iceland exist
Imperium ‘we’ vs genestelaer cult ‘we’
Omg wholesome chungus Salamanders, Orky speak ‘m a tank har har har, Rylanor so brave and pure smoochy smoochy, guardsmen actually based because they strong, omg I hate how they made tau Grimdark, Ollanius is so based
Endless loop
because I live to troll
F*** you you are right
fun fact canada was named after a river but that river doesnt exist because it was a mistranslation so the word means nothing
Treading the line of being a reliable and unreliable source
Don't forget the reality bending ork joke
Fun fact! The United States of America was named after the content America!
That’s the im a tank one
Okay imma take a shower now
which I think im doing pretty well at that
genuinely wild to remind yourself that the united states of america is the most literal name for a country ever
Wasn't it named after Amerigo Vespucci?
That and the country was literally a translation of fields of grass or something like that
The Untited States of America was named after me shoving my foot into your ass so hard you’re gonna leave footprints on every chair you sit on for a week
ALSO IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE MOHGS HORNS
i like looking up full country names
Y
it's funny
how
federal republic of germany
ah
Belgium
kingdom of belgium
But there is no King of Belgium
Democratic Republic of North Korea
hey
yall wanna hear something
when you want a country but you dont know what to call it
country, nation
America use to be in that btw
was it?
Isn't there a difference between Nation and country ?
we stopped calling ourselves a Republic after the civil war iirc
yes
but even in ww1 we where still called a Republic by many other countries
and technically we still are a republic
makes sense since the US is the literal definition of a republic
yeah
Scotland is a Nation but not a Country or something
it's quite complexe yeah
also the definitions are prone to being used dogmatically
yeah
Hah, you guys still think Scotland is real?

The kilts and eating sheep intestines didn’t give it away?
Eternal is the kind of guy to main Soldier in TF2 due to all the scottish insults he has against Demoman
Imagine thinking the bagpipes are a real instrument someone would come up with
https://youtu.be/Jb3y2465Qpg?si=4dqm2ZQR11jN97E8 he's definitely the type to have this video ready to insult someone from Scotland
lmao christ
I do now
bored as hell
Try huffing paint thinners
no
Pfft ok nerd
what's your favorite 40k faction
Imperium huge fan of the death korps
why do you like them
chaos death korps?
ah a nurgle fan
well thats lore wise
Khorn is my favorite in gen
so loyal Krieg, Chaos Death guard, in gen Khorn
Do you get along well with the average krieg fan
what even is their personality actually?
i can't tell how much of it is memed and how much is from actual lore
Mhm I keep it civil and not start shit
it's how I prefer than being in a screaming match like a cod lobby
Their more cold and indifferent about things, dead comrade the medics will search the bodies and get materials they can use for others since well that dead man isn't using them
Dour, grim, any sort of humor is dark
Generally they seem very emotionally stunted
how do major regiments interact with eachother usually
90% of the time they're with shitty regiments so i get why they'd feel so superior
Either they think they’re better then the other one or they can get along by feeling superior about themselves
i thought that was a meme
them being clones is a meme
its been on official "material" but its mostly been made as a mistake
lol
Isn't there an insane amount of brainwashing them too
Nah
I don't imagine you'd get a very ready-to-die-for-you regiment on that kind of world without brainwashing
they are brainwashed through propaganda
Yeah exactly
The Vitae - womb is how their made at times
pretty much every major regiment is though
i dont get if krieg go above and beyond or if it's just an effect of them being so memed that they're treated as ultra fanatic
Fair but I would've guessed they get more since they live in a shithole
Alot not all
Krieg is extremely above in the brainwashing department lol
Mhm
they are raised and taught that their planet did a terrible crime
which in reality was not one
secession from the Imperium is not a horrible act
lmao
It's a mixture of vat grown and regular enlisted
vostroyans?
Krieg
im saying they have that too
they're more then willing to die horribly for a cause of its one thats "worthy"
I wonder who came up with that idea
^
They turned traitor and they loyalist on the planet basically nuked their own planet
Just so they didn't go to the traitor
The thing with most "normal" guard regiments is they are very normal human beings most of the time minus some cultural quirks, you can probably talk with them like some U.S Marine down the street occupying your town lol
its more that once you see how indoctrinated they are they get disturbing
In exchange the kriegs believe if they lay down their lives they help redeem their planet in the Big Es eyes
valhallans do it better smh
mhm
I think the faction rule name for DKoK + their faction specfic order
illuminates how they act lol
they dont need an excuse to die for the emperor
GW has done that for them

"so like how many of us need to die for the planet to be redeemed"
they say something akin to this in the new Vraks book
kek
When the emperor said this, I broke down crying, pissing and shitting
LMAO
LOL
god you got no idea
how bad the ending books are
"This is the End™️ and the Death™️"
What response do they get?
Nothing its just them going
"WHATEVER IT TAKES BRO, TRUST ME"
14 million troops later 💀
also has a scene where a female preacher questions the cult of sacrifice
and the krieg sergeant is like
"Ummm uhhh ummmm"
since she keeps poking holes in their dumb ideology lol
homie is worse than me with women 💀
don't be so hard on him smh
he never had a mother
or father
or any parental figure
Cognitive dissonance, something you never ever see in real life right?
Isn’t it weird that the siege of Vraks lasted longer than the ENTIRE heresy? Like damn bro what the fuck

"The end and The Death"
mhm
I am the end and the death
Its mostly because with the HH everything was at a rush
with Vraks its humans fighting humans
and getting nothing done
Vraks doesn't go horribly wrong
its probably a more "realistic" war admittedly
Stop talking like you're an elden ring boss
Because i will kill you

Vraks all things considered was just a resource drain game lol
Until the Khornate daemons
What was so important about the dang planet anyway
it was a big armory world
Get out space marines and guardsman fighting for it all f****** long
the original goal was to get the stuff back
the goal after it started devolving was to just make sure no one gets it
I teared up when Lord Commander Zuehlke said “every siege has its vraks, Warhammer 40,000” line gets me everytime
Ok I’ll stop now
To be honest the series Janovich is doing of the siege of vraks is dope as hell
It’s really cool seeing some do a series on it like it was an actual campaign
tbf it was written like an actual military campaign
Yeah theres a reason the Forge World battle scenarios were some of the best form of 40k writing.
like most forgeworld books
We will never see anything like them again
YEP
I still want fires of cyraxus just for the tau and admech lore in it
ngl
Some of the 40k warzone books get close but they don't get the like essence of the forgeworld campaign books
which is dying over some shithole world with barely anything useful
and it being unimportant
then again ig the Eldar vs Guard book kind of broke the dying over some shithole world with nothing important
but meh
Me waiting for the fourth war of Armageddon
That wasn't a forgeworld book
Doom of Mymeara was aggressively Ok™️

how much rep do you think nurgle cultists lose for taking a shower
all of it
💀
unless its in some unspeakable fluid
It is probably the most mid FW book
but uhhh
engines of vaul

amiright guys
I wonder what the worst 40k novel ever written was
"I'm gonna go bathe.." pitchforks raise "..under the manhole cover" group hug
Or is
CS goto dawn of war books
No contest
Serious answer: probably not that much. It's not like whatever you got washes off, and it's probably spreading through the sewer system as we speak.
That's surprising
literally Atoma rn
I would think it's one of those things where they look at you like "why are you doing that 🤨" kind of like a subtle red flag
Ehhh some might tbf
I wonder what tertium smells like, I mean, it probably didnt smell nice before the cultists, but could you imagine how bad it must smell now
Prolly like rotting corpses at best in the worst places
But I highly doubt most of Nurglite diseases wash off, unless of course you got infected with a real space disease
HAHAHAHA
That was fast
I wonder if the corpse guilds on tertium are taking pox walker bodies
Corpse Guilds tend to be mostly on Necromunda
