He just had to be greedy
Funnily in AoS Archeon just doesn't want to talk about his past at all
so his followers just make shit up about him
All I need is the skaven in 40k and I'll be happy
Becoming a Daemon Prince is eternal fealty to the gods
Maintaining ones own Mortal body whilst powered up is just using them
Archaeon's "origins" his followers peddle include he was a twin brother to sigmar and he used to rule all the mortal realms before sigmar
Sigmar does have twin sons technically
which he just doesn't choose to correct
didn't he not even know they existed
Its assumed he knows but refuses
How is sigmar doing in AOS
I assume pretty good
He's doing great
Hell yeah
And chaos is actually taking Ls at times too
I think writing in aos is a tad bit more balanced
I like to think they became stormcasts
so giant it drowns everything
would be cool
Mfw Shyish is literally overwhemled with dead Skaven
along with still living Skaven
Ah the skaven single handedly carrying operations through their sheer stupidity
Nagash L
They were warriors so a stormhost that is just Sigmars Lineage is pretty cool
Would be cool
I love that physically storm vermin is probably around like a normal buff human in terms of strength but since they can afford a lot of them it doesn't matter
Yeah but compared to the elite infantry of other races they are a bit you know
Built like a meat shield
That's the literally the entire tactic of the skaven
Yeah they have thanks but it's very unstable but you know why
They have like a hundred of them
Who would win in an average fight no interference
A black orc or an iron breaker
In out of all the elite infantry in every single faction i feel like they do have the physical advantage most of the time
I think the only elite infantry that would even match a black orch in terms of strength would be a temple guard
Orks have physical advantage most of the time
Ironbreakers are prolly going the way of the dodo in AoS soon
It’s like their race trait
The dwarf and elf parts of cities of sigmar are overdue
The overlords are the original Votann
And i'm surprised they are all about airships and not the old dwarf artillery and tough infantry gig
They aren’t cities of sigmar smh
I mean they have the technology to imitate the old dwarves of warhammer fantasy
I’d assume cites of sigmar is gona be dwarven artillery
The khadron prefer to remain mobile ig
Rather then big fucking immobile cannon
Now that i think about it out of all the order tied races the dwarves are the ones that got changed the most
Yeah
Their main function being literal airship maniacs
Yeah somehow the slayer cult survived
Well it's not really much of a slayer cult now
Idfk man
More of a warrior cult but
I will ask you fantasy questions and you will answer beatmen
I mean in thematic ways of fighting
wooden
they aren't really long ranged
they're way more melee brawling focused
weirdly
guess it comes with being a tree
They don't focus on hit and runs now in the forest
Huh neat
Well how are they compared to your average old world wood elf
They would probably fold one in half
old world wood elfs still exist as well
but they're part of the Cities of Sigmar
like yeah idk my bet is on tree ghost
Sheesh old world got turned into a stepping stone huh because the basic infantry of iron jawz is black orcs
You put a brute in the old world they would probably be a war boss immediately
wouldn't call old world a stepping stone personally
plenty of old world styled stuff can still do well
tbh
the cities of sigmar have not imploded yet for a reason
I think the right term would be power creeped
Yeah literally one of the basic factions are giant orcs that punch metal into their skin as armor
weird ass fucking City of Sigmar elves lol
Motherfuckers thinks he's a harley quinn
Like i'm not tripping right
idfk lol
they're from Ulgu and not associated with Malerion/Maliketh
and they're generally creepy
Now this actually got me thinking a little bit how would the old world change if you bring in the storm cast and the cities of sigmar along to fix some stuff up
Uh a lot
just based on technological and magic levels
and also general like unity
Chaos would probably stara each other and s*** the bed right
yeah
prolly because cross setting stuff like that would be insane
AoS is different from WHFB in terms of the scale
Multiple realms
And battles that would literally destroy both the brettonia and the empire in a single day are pretty common
the crusades that Cities of Sigmar's regularly send out would be
horrifying for literally everyone
because my fucking god
that is a lot of people
Yeah grimgor end times size WAAAAAGGHHHs are tuesday
In age of sigmar
not tuesday
it would def be a like event to be noted
Grimgor's WAAAAAAAAAAGH was fucking insane lol
True
And they can just afford that
Where the f*** are they getting the people
I know this is multiple realms and stuff but like
the smallest ones are numbered in the hundreds
What the hell is logistics of the f****** cities man
Well the cities are fucking huge
its not just the city
its all the towns and farmland
outside the city
Like a modern scaled city
in a fantasy setting
- its surrounding land
How large is an average like city of sigmar city compared to a hive city
Oh thank goodness
AoS still does run by medival logistics
The largest dawnbringer crusades are in the like
10s of thousands
the small ones are just like a few hundred
And these guys are supported by airships right
With basically their own armored columns of tanks
And other doohickeys
Okay I'm wrong
there was a bigger dawnbringer crusade listed
which was at 30k people
which is insane
Dude
depends on the size but yeah
Airships, vehicles, cannons
a variety of infantry
some meth head priests and priestesses screaming about Sigmar or Khaine
or some other random god
ect.
And if they have boats it would probably be a black ark
Supported by fleets of ships with large artillery platforms
And the these things usually get crushed right
depends on what they run into
sometimes they successfully found a new city
other times uh
Iron jawz horde
Ironjawz if you're lucky
they'll just kill most of everyone or tell you to leave or die
Thing is if you're physically strong you can engage in diplomacy with them by using your hands
Let's say i win a punchout with one
yeah and most people present aren't strong enough
They will more than likely at least respect you enough that you're strong enough to match an iron jaw in a fight
Ah kruleboyz
Those guys are fun
thats an issue
yeah turns out the Sylvaneth do not like having an entire army drawn through their forests
I mean death can still work with cities of sigmar
big suprise I know
well Dawnbringer crusades are expansionistic
their goal is to found a new city
somewhere
they're going to inevitbly fight with something
hey man i just find it funny that a Necroplis Stalker might somehow end up with a crusade
funnier that a literal normal revived skeleton might be a part of it tbh

Aren't a lot of the Soulblight lords a bit more Independant atm
With Nagash in timeout
yeah would make sense considering he is busy taking care of a literal rat problem
I know I asked about scale before here about populations in 40k and I now have another possibly easier question to ask
How many Astartes are there?
and how many of them are Loyalist and how many are Traitor?
do we have numbers worth looking at
That question is basically a whole new kind of works because an average normal rule compliant chapter has 1000 troops
Probably not, but like there are not a lot of them
Number maybe goes up to 100 thousand
And that’s all
but of course there are those that don't care and disobey the rules
so honestly it's up the author
I did know that in lore, Astartes whether they be loyalist or traitor are extremely rare
the general rule is "a thousand chapters of a thousand marines on average" but no hard numbers
so approx 1 million astartes, give or take.
so black templars + 1 million astartes
which is also approximately how many settled planets the imperium contains, so yeah they're rare.
considering there are potentially nonillions of humans, that’s an extremely small number.
one space marine per planet if you spread them out equally.
one astartes to rule them all
for legal purposes this is a joke
I don’t even want to try and calculate how many Sororitas there are, or how many Guardsman there are...
considering both are waaaaaay more common than Astartes
sisters of battle? more than astartes but a reasonable number I'd say
adepta sororitas? holy hell
Considerably so probably
Marines(loyalists and traitors) are likely in the low millions
yup. which is also why a game like darktide is such a good idea, because it depicts an example of the innumerable wars that are fought across the imperium every day in which the space marines never appear.
Adepta Sororitas, probably in the higher hundreds of millions...
Guardsman, high trillions
id actuall wish for a sister to appear
Hestia is right there
this is just me pulling numbers out of my ass, but they seem reasonable to me
we have somebody from the adepta sororitas, which is probably the best we're going to get
one of battle
Hestia is a Dialogus though, a Sororitas yes, but of an Order Militant, no.
They don't have to be Order Militant
Our dearest Argenta from RT is Ordo Pronatus, also non combat
They don’t, all Sisters are trained for battle.
one tech priest, one interrogator, one actually experienced guard officer, a bunch of conscripted penal soldiers, one allied regiment of local soldiers, and a dream.
everything you need to wage a proper imperial war.
I was just thinking about her, there’s a reason she doesn’t wear Power Armour until late game
I'd like to have a full on loyalist muscle mommy, preferably
because scab trappers, dreg flamers, rinda karnak and zola are not good enough muscle mommies to me
Hestia is just a priestess as far as we know, she mentions nothing about being a sororitas unless i missed something.
Oh shush you.
the previous lady in her position was a dialogus tho prob, she ha the neckpiece and the hairstyle and everything lol
Lucia existed before Darktide did.
But yeah considering the imperium floats around a few hundred thousand planets, even if like, 10k of those are hive worlds
That's a LOT of bodies
Also the fact that even thats a small number when you remember the milky way has 400+ billion stars lol
said in the tone of a sad cadian
It’s been said before, that bodies are the one resource that the Imperium is never short on.
corpse starch
to quote a scientist

yumby
Me when I sell people in Rogue Trader
"If theres anything humans love, its to fuck."
evidently...
"wanna be sexed up abusive lesbians?"
“Who could say no to a proposal like that?”
class of '09
Said the person who would later regret it...
need to play it
I do
It’s on the list of shit I’m going to do, but keep putting off...
That list grows longer every day -_-
cant check my shame list rn
Nicole is so chaotic, I love her.
she’s the kind of person I would find attractive as a character but would hate to be around irl though.
idk what that says about me -_-
i dont actually know a lot but that makes discovering unhinged tiktok audios so much better

do you think they could make a game based on Dark Heresy?
or possibly Black Crusade
I honestly think they probably will
After Rogue Trader
Give or take 3 years time
Or however long Wrath came after Kingmaker
The basis are there, would not be quite difficult
^
It makes sense monetarily and also from the love Rogue Trader has gotten even with the bugs.
Its prob one of the best story-based 40k games out there, the fandom is also pretty strong
I feel it also kinda dragged over the rest of the owlcat playerbase
Since imo it's a lot more palatable/fun than the pathfinders lol
oh that reminds me
rogue trader is on GFN now
so I should buy it and play it sometime
Archmilitant my beloved
Hmmm
How many Custodes are there?
I imagine there doesn’t need to be very many of them...
Ten thousand, I think
it would likely be in that ballpark yeah.
I've heard them referred to as The Ten Thousand in some of the books
you don't need many super soldiers guarding the Emperor and Holy Terra
10,000 is enough to do that.
ten thousand, yes. to the point that it's one of their names
(The Ten Thousand)
makes sense
they've started venturing out into the imperium as well though
can't sell models of an army that never leaves the imperial palace lol
weren't they the ten thousand before the war in the webway?
Yes, by the end of the siege they had only a few hundred left
Over the next 10,000 years they slowly rebuilt their numbers
They lost around 2000+ Custodes during the battle for lions gate, and obviously have been much more active and lost a lot more then is normal
So they’re likely understrength a fair amount but nothing too crazy
including 5 of them getting btfo'd when the first norn emissary showed up
lol
Technically it was like the third which was found the other two didnt get that close though
tf is norn emissary and how are new phyrexians invading the 40k universe already
(elesh norn)
enormous tyranid killing machine
norn in this case refers to the norn queens that live at the heart of a tyranid hive fleet
why norn queen name

elesh norn isn't a tyranid please god
SHUT UP ABOUT ELESH NORN
i like slivers but keep em separate

NO
your flesh-wife isnt real
SHE METAL RELIGIOUS MOMMY
flesh wife?
first of all, thank you. second of all, yes flesh but its like... i dunno
the weak bits of armor
dunno. it's an old name, been in use since 4th edition
it's either like a 50 50 of some metal/rock material and fleshy stuff
there's also phyrexian goop that they use
Its a norse female goddess name, tyranids use a lot of old timey terms for their units
or even older? first reference might have been white dwarf 146 from 1992(!)
old timey term LMAO. but true enough, lictor is also a historical term (bodyguards of a roman consul)
literally mother of machines
Im sorry i confused it with the norse myths from 2020
so must be mechanical to a certain degree

all phyrexians seem to be
idk DnD lore so beats me
to a certain degree
my intrusive thoughts are really really making me want to do the joke
everything seems to be a subsection of mtg lately, what with all the collabs
i call it the Fortnite of card games
cuz planeswalkers just do whatever tf they want
abbadon is best friends with rakdos i feel like
shit they actually have monster hunter too
played monster hunter for the first time recently. what a strange fucking game
what's strange about a man killing a giant monster
devil ho
I tried it but i just could not get into it
i like the setting
aesthetics of a cheap korean mmo, gameplay depth of a fucking fighting game??
very weird
Of course it's always a master class at monster design
wait did you go with rise?
yeah that was the cheapest one. copped it through humble bundle sale for 10 eurodollars with some friends
yeah that's the one that means harder with the asian aesthetic
Other Monster Hunter games have their own aesthetics from other world cultures and stuff
it's not just the asian thing
the weapons?
also the UI, the textures and animations, the endless barrage of tutorial popups
lol
just the way the whole game looks
yeah i can see it
and presents itself
it seems deeply unserious
and then it hits you with "sike, this shit is actually really complex"
true
like
having to "pick up" DLC from the "mail merchant" gave me flashbacks to some of the stuff in maplestory
Send trader
Jonathos "Mad" Kyron at your service
Im kinda surprised people didn't know about the Norn, they appear in a fair amount of media in their role as "the Fates but Norse"
There's so many different variations on the Fates in different cultural groups
The Moirai, the Parcae, the Rozhanitsy, the Wyrdsisters, then each baltic and balkan culture has their own variation
The Morrigan could also be seen as potentially a derivation of the Fates, since they are also tied to ideas of life, death and destiny.
the world is more connected than anyone would think, like how a good bit of languages have similar roots
Forget Eisenhorn, the show that I want to see from GW is 40k Bridgerton with a bunch of Spire Nobles
especially when it comes to scandinavian languages
Hey GW's releasing a non Warhammer thing
Age of Sigmar lookin ah box
Talisman is fun
looks at Cathay
That’s Grand Cathay to you peasant
Do i look like the type of guy to call them by the full name
True, two syllables is already asking a lot.
Mfw Total Warhammer made the whole “skip the Greentide kills everyone” in that corner of the map even more awkward
💀
god
Well Catahy got fucked by Chaos Dwarves + skaven
and then the Orcs
fucking smashed the Chorfs + skaven
and what was left of cathay
If i'm going to be honest there is like two green things next to cathay
The maggot lord and grimgor
Then you add the fact one of the f****** closest enemies their literally can just teleport inside
They got hit by a lot at once but it’s still kinda funny
Same as Bretonnia just got its finish ignored mostly and they forgot about Skarsnik
The dumbest shit ever is still the “Uh oh time for a final battle everyone teleport to the same spot”
Didn't he literally disappear from the middle of the series because of that
That was the most “Ugh just end it” part lol
Something like that, they actually just forgot about him
Too many characters they had to kill off every book
They forgor about Skarsnik
True
somehow
Yeah one of the most well known or characters and most unique
It is a very Skarsnik ending
also Ikit claw might have lived(somehow)
after fucking nuking the black pyramid of nagash
But he's dead in aos right
Maybe?
I think only uh
there's someone with a very similiar name
The white rat bumblefuck and the assassin dude
Shame he did not develop the same violent tendencies as the realm slayer
And gotrek is traveling with an elf
only thing exposed are his eyes
He definitely sobered up with his travels with felix
He doesn't want to brain every aelf he sees now to a point
Ikrit has quite literally stormcasted himself
Gotrek without Felix is just sad and lame
biggest brained rat
Storm cast yourself now
Yeah the thing is he's basically a walking blender as a character
He's like only a few times more interesting than grimgor
yeah he gets his head chopped off and he dissapears in a bolt of green lightning
He also doesn't like the GHR(big suprise)
Ikit claw is blasting off agaiiiinnnnn
not in AoS
because everyone and everything he knew is dead
and he's been forced to survive for thousands of years
trying to keep himself from going insane or dying
Did he just finally go crazy and decided to live like a f****** brain hemorrhaging rat
He's pretty much gone completely insane, his goals are to become truly immortal and to unite the skaven under his rule
he also only shows up in a single book
and gets mentioned like once outside of that
And let me guess he's going to build a megazord to fight the great horned rat in a great kaiju battle
idfk lol
Honestly just kill him
he has Skaven airships
The guy is dying
Call it vermin cast
yeah point being he can't die anymore lol
at least not normally
maybe he'll get mentioned in the new skaven like
battletome
Molecular and spiritual obliteration?
body doesn't matter, need to stop his soul from escaping somehow
its not like he's often in the mortal realms anyways
he has a weird lab/subrealm cut off from it
He has a lab that is in its own pocket realm
Can this guy literally just do something cool instead of laughing like a maniac at making a triple barrel rotating minigun shotgun
Literally their entire thing is a fucking wall
Yeah the great wall of china thing wasn't subtle
Honestly making a Chinese harlequins faction for AOS would be baller
Literlaly only one thing I actually like in Cathy is the terracotta guys
Which would be baller storm casts tbh….
What you don't like the jade lions and the
Lung dragons
Jesus christ i can't say it they're basically just super fantasy china
I like the jade lions but I forgot they existed lmao
I’m annoyed there isn’t anything else to them, AOS factions are great because they are never just one thing
How about i embed a metal plate straight to your face by punching it
Yeah this guy
Saytang the sentinel of the skies
Oh yeah I love the statues
Probably because they actually FUCKING UNIQUE
They use the architecture theme
Yeah
A lot of the stuff borrows too much into the chinese aesthetic
A faction known for a giant wall, using bricks and clay and concrete to build their defenders works really well
Ancient defends as ancient as their wall
Yeah but
You know
Ah Brettonia
Cathay lowkey boring
Yeah
In many ways aesthetically
I enjoy the basic stuff though
Just the lords/heros are uh
Boring ig?
The dragon siblings are good
Legendary lords Im fine with
I mean they turn into f****** dragons
I might paint my stormcasts like the statues but I’m a sucker for golems
I'm surprised in imrik doesn't get a relationship bonus with them
💀
You would think they would have a mount or something
Like a terracotta sentinel
Cathay could be way more interesting.
But it isn't
Cathayn Lord get a relationship bonus but Imrik doesn't
Because Imrik like them but it's not the reciprocal
GW seems to have a trend of creating vaguely asian inspired factions and then neglecting them huh
I wouldn’t call White Scars neglected
40k they don’t have quite as much but 30k they have a ton of focus
On that Administratum grind
Space dmv
I think they could have done iconic Chinese folk stories but having them be warhammerised
One of the main thing that I think they should have done is the Chinese Zodiac story, having Cathay have 12+1 Province, with 1 being taken over by Skaven (The Rat) and the other being represented either by Draconic beings or by character like the Monkey Prince.
Oh this Jae quest was great
I figured since my dude was a guard guy he was used to just droning on doing nothing for days on end so he'd be able to just wait through the queue no problem
Much to Jae's annoyance
A lot of the old world factions were just based off of racist caricatures, and I guess Asian stuff wasn’t popular in Western European countries?
Luckily now only the British government tries to sell racist caricatures to people instead of gw
Not talking about caricatures here but always loved seeing Cathay caravans go through three different biomes of corrupted hellhole on that grindset
Maybe I should start another TWH3 save
Yeah no suprise Brits made the French seem like backwards, unwashed, feudal knights worshipping some lady from the lake
you forgot extremely brutal feudalism smh
Yeah
Why do people do this. Like in general
What is it with fiction writing and people just mashing shit Asian cultures in a vague haphazard way
because katanas
tbf GW has not mashed east asian cultures together in Old World/WHFB
cathay is literally just fantasy china
But uh
its because people are less familiar with east asian culture so they just do what looks cool/sounds cool
Leading to such masterpieces as this
Thanks for reminding me of this absolute gem
You know despite everyone calling them French, Bretonnia is actually more of a caricature of medieval Britain
Like sure the Knights are French, but like that's because the English nobility at the time were Normans and spoke French
Yea
Just like in real history
English and French history are incredibly interlinked
and like many of the ideas of chivalry and the lady of the Lake etc are about the English because they're about King Arthur, but most of those stories are written by the French
Yeah I know, Lady of the Lake is literally from King Arthur
So Bretonnia is like a caricature of England through the perspective of the French, made by the English
Like in the Total War games all the Knights are French, but the peasants are English
A lot of Arthurian myth is also French
because this stuff was created in the 80's and people didnt give a shit
Yea most Arthurian myths are Anglo fanfics written by the French
It's sort of amazing that a lot of mythology is just fanfics that got canonized.
Like book of solomon or something similar whose name i could not immediately recall with confidence that basically became the basis of abrahamic demon lore
Goetia or The Lesser Key of Solomon
Ars Goetia*
Yes, that
Its wild cuz I believe that whole thing was basically making fun of people who believed hard into mysticism and applying it to hard sciences but I may be wrong on that
Bruh if that was the case modern audiences took it the opposite way lmao
Yep lmao
It worked in its day
Nowadays it's mostly not needed due to majority of us believing in science for medical procedures
Buuut it's cool as hell to bring up so fuck it
Fellas
I think angron coming back from the dead every time he dies is bad
Makes him seem less cool and people who kill him less cool if the dude will just show up again later to wreck shit
That's also an issue with bringing the primarchs back tbh
All daemons do that
And it makes them way less cool

Turns em into Saturday morning cartoon villains
“Drat, I’ve been foiled again by those meddling space marines! I’ll get you next time guilliman!”
Okay but angron is still threatening and he wins often
There’s only two times he’s died since coming back one was from blowing up the fucking planet he was on
The other was almost wiping out most of the dark angels and their successors present
And then almost killing Lion
Like
If you had said Mortarion I’d agree with you
But angron no lol
Angron has been smashing skulls in and has had a good showing
We should get Russ back, about time we get a jobber from the imperium side
Russ will come as a giant giga werewolf
Imperium jobs all the time, it’s just rarely named characters specifically
Actually that also is sort of a lie
Celestine jobs a lot lol
and when Russ comes back as said giant werewolf all the space wolves will mutant into them, but still be sane and have full use of their weapons
Since she can’t die
this is all just a complete joke btw, GW would never revamp the whole space wolf line like that kekw
I mean
yea but Celestine is just an SoB with wings tho?
Not someone established as fuckass powerful
She’s superhuman
She’s far stronger then any normal human being
Unfortunately she has the curse of being someone who’s immortal in 40k
Which means she’ll lose
A lot lol
Compared to a character who isn’t immortal
Especially since she’s an older character
yea i understand, they can toss her under the bus without other writers going upset they yeeted her just like that
doesnt she have to doom slayer her way through hell to resurrect or something?
She has to climb over a mountain of her own dead bodies
And gather her armor and weapons
And some other stuff iirc
oh
which faction would have the most blue hair and pronounce
lmao
which faction has the most thin-skinned incels playing it rn?
the answer to that question is my answer to your question
most pronouns goes to Orks smh
there's the msot orks
blue hair is probably tzeentch
Broadly? Imperial guard/marines
Specifically? Probably Black Templars
💀
lmao
Orks identify as a problem and/or a threat
Yall act like GW doesn't have a designated nonbinary faction
Sanguineius may be my favorite primarc. But guilliman is the best in my opinion
which one Orks?
idfk
Mechanicus to an extent
there is literally 3 factions in the imperium alone that dont give a shit about gender
the custodies the space marines and the admech
all 3 of them are transhuman as all hell
the first 2 are literally called post-humans
the 3rd are cyborgs
the imperium is so so so so so far from the "bastion of human purity" the idiot incels think and claim it is its funny
You know the fact that the incels love the custodes because they were all male but then the fact that the guardian of their incredibly bad father and so called god apparently had women in them and so that's the problem
It's like what the f*** is wrong with you people
they are incels, there very existance is an insult to all humanity
if you distil every single negative trait of humanity into one being you get an incel
And that is always the case
Mechanicus
yeah its wild, normally out-groups are a mix bag of good and bad people just like the mainstream ones, but with incels there is nothing redeeming about them
But of course we can only ignore them because apparently the only way to change their mind is beating them to death with a hammer with welded on spikes
which is sadly illegal
Yes, murder is illegal
wtf is a rowlet?
Yes
If you squint and look far away
yeah
Yuh
its a mallard duckling from WoW in case anyone is wondering
somebody fucking kill me
i have nowhere else to complain about this
i invited an american to my place and i thought he could handle alcohol since he's 20 but apparently not. vomited over my whole living room
Oh Jesus
today is not a fucking good day
No thats pretty awful
Did you ask him in the first place ?
yes i did
and he said yes i would assume
he said he could handle himself
but i should have taken the hint when he said he'd never been super drunk before
What sorta stuff did he have? Beer or stronger stuff?
some gin and rum
Yeah maybe he can only handle the weak stuff
yeah
Yeah likely
partially my fault for assuming he could handle it
but holy shit my day is fucked
taking care of a super drunk person is like taking care of a sick kid
gotta give them a place to vomit and carry them to the shower
always have a puke bucket
anyways thanks for letting me vent guys now i try to sleep on the sofa since he's taking my entire bed i guess
Remember that
Make sure hes on his side
lmaoooooo the absolutely demolished drunk experience
this is why you remain aware of your limits
tbf he is only 20
so whatever booze he had here in the states he had to ether get from older friends or steal/lie about his age/use a fake card
1v1, are chaos marines better in combat than regular marines?
lore wise, not on tabletop
Both have the same equipment it could honestly be a toss up
Most of the time they are equals
It depends on whether or not one of them has a name
Don't chaos marines have the option to use warp magic/enhancements to boost themselves up?
some of the higher chosen and champion
Some chaos marines are vets from the heresy, so they can be more experienced, but most of their gear is older and out of date
You know what I’m bored of the imperium we know so many details about them that I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point they explained what Guillimans favourite toilet paper brand is
I wanna learn more about the eldar or the tau perhaps flesh them out some more add more named characters and the like maybe more necron stuff
Nurgle blessed fellows are more durable but probably more sluggish? I don't know about the other chaos fellows but Nurglish corruption definitely gives an objective advantage in one way
I would assume being slower is the trade off especially because bloating and sloshin aboot
Nurgle followers are at times effectively immortal they feel no pain and are often incredibly durable likely if a Nurgle space marine were to show up in darktide it would canonically take a day for the battle to actually end if the squad was good enough to kill it
As the other person said, we have names so we take the dub xd
I actually don't know how much tankier the average nurgle marine is
Imagine for a moment a mortar shell landed in a Nurgle space marines chest and exploded
You now need to send at least 20 more to stop his continued advance
so basically very tough
They are terrifying
Not from how quickly they can fuck you up but by the fact they cannot be stopped
That says cripple not kill, so I would say it's safe to assume they wouldn't be SUUUPER tanky compared to a non-chaos marine, right?
Definitely substantially more
Point is a normal space marine can get his leg chopped off and he’s not fine the Nurgle space marine just keeps walking
True that
The only issue with that is we have munitions that are nearly overkill for marines
True you can kill space marines easily
If they didn’t have plot armour that counters the warp
Veterans have krak grenades and a plasma gun
I would assume a plasma rifle would help kill a nurgle marine way better than actual firearms, right?
Zealots have thunder hammers
If they can get the drop on the marine the damn thing is dead
Unless that marine is plot relevant
Death guard are tough 5, a plasma is strength 7, more if overcharged
In other words
Yes
I don't need to explain that one
Then they'll make him teleport away in a smoke bomb for us to actually kill a couple of months later, in a special mission :^)
Bolters plasma and anything stronger than a standard grenade would probably do the trick
Makes sense, plasma is too good
Psykers are as usual the superior humans in every way having 2 every effective murder methods for large durable targets
The plague marine champion thinking he’s hot shit until he notices the 3 krak grenades stuck to his breastplate
So as a psyker
Are what your powers do randomly assigned at birth, or is there a way to change/intentionally learn abilities?
it can depend on what school they use on the what power level they're on
And how they are/aren’t taught
For example bio mancers can literally use their power to match a space marine
I know power level is a birth skill issue but I mean what the actual power does
Or a diviner could predict the future to some degree I think
So it is a taught thing
I think rogue trader explained diviners pretty well
yes
They basically have some method in their mind in which the warp can whisper to them the diviner companion describes their own method as a door that’s slightly opened
Idira shaking me out of bed to tell me she saw two skeletons throwing it back on a road made of broken glass and marble
"...ok"
and biomancers can do this
Have they fixed the issue of her having heretical 2 but not 1?
She is unsanctioned
Not a clue, haven't gotten super duper far into the game nor played in a while
Also I’m gonna go play it in a bit so I’ll let you know
Telepathy psykers can lift crush or affect the mind and body of another being
Outside of tabletops and games psykers aren’t really restricted on what they can do with the warp
Well so long as they don’t mind the demons
yeah they can imitate a lot of fictional powers
As long as they have proper control that is
Are there psykers who enslave daemons?
I'm sure they would have to be very strong but I'm sure they could
The shards of hatred for example from the very game this server is for doesn’t fall under any specific criteria for a psyker
Can an uncorrupted psyker use daemons for good?
No
So no enslaving, moreso bonding or something
A psyker who consorts with demons will fall to chaos one way or another
yeah a radical inquisitor summoning a daemon host if they want to get shot in the head
That sounds a little creatively-restricting
I do find it funny that sanctic power is just like any other and isnt tied to the big e
Generally messing with warp stuff is never smart for a psyker regardless of species unless your an orc
It's not just faith magic?
Orks use the warp just for ***** and giggles
And their Psykers have their own power source
probably, but it doesnt really garuntee protection from normal warp shenanigans, at least in rogue trader
the WWAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHH!!!!
You use too much warp magic and you start looking like a very very bright light in the warp and every demons gonna look at that and try to take a bite
yeah that's why eldar souls are very delectable
It's incredibly bright and very psychically attuned to the warp
It’s also why the eldar dont just walk up and steamroll the imperium
And then if it's a strong psyker they probably use even more power fending off said daemons, which would be like a progressively-worse feedback loop until they fall?
^
Most psykers are never good enough to reach a level of stability in which they cannot be corrupted
Or rather
The imperium never lets them
Their fear of witchcraft leads them to killing off psykers on mass
And sanctioned psykers are never allowed to advance their abilities as their constant surveillance would deem them a heretic trying to consort with demons for even thinking about trying to become a stronger psyker
Point is
Being a psyker sucks
Full stop
Unless your in the alpha level and didn’t get outright murdered or forever trapped in a titan being a psyker sucks
And it sucks both ways either you are imperium or heretic
Yup possession is a bitch
The eldar themselves are some of the most powerful psykers in the entire universe and yes that includes some being stronger than the emperor however due to slanesh and the other demons they are forced to restrain themselves from using their full power
Reminder the eldar fought the necron and their gods so well they went to bed for thousands of years
tbf
if an Eldar decides to stop restraining themselves
they'll prolly kill whatever they want to kill before you know
dying
True but death is usually not preferred as usually their spirit stone will shatter from the level of power they employ
And slanesh will likely be waiting at the door to swallow them in whatever hole they think would be funniest
tbh their soul might just get straight up sucked out their body
doing that shit
either way not likely someone would do that
Yup
Eldar are so damn interesting yet we get so little on them
Same with the tau
We just don’t know enough not to mention the nonstop Ls they had to take because of space marine bias
thats just Gav thrope
lol
He really likes Eldar losing
despite also really liking Eldar
Not in the story unfortunately
Dude gets bodied by named characters every 2 days
But if there’s one faction that is hopelessly neglected
It’s the tau
leagues of votann sorry they aren't real
my bad
Tau get lore
just not a ton
Sure they were the most recent faction but we still don’t know much about them
They like greater good
But kroot is Krott
also the Tau def aren't the most recent faction
from a like getting lore perspective
GSC
LoV also are new but they aren't real

I meant in terms of xenos
Damn I’m behind again
well alien in the sense of like
society
they're abhumans(technically)
but also they hate the imperium lol
Still I want more tau focused stories
Have a named firewalker beat a space marine by the skin of their teeth to defend a settlement
or 2 ig?
Farsight books
at least
also besides marines/the imperium lose alot anyways
starting 8e lul
Imperium has not won a warzone book so far
You know what I wanna see most from the space marines
getting their models discontinued?
The ultra marines losing
and ogham
the tyranids did the brain thing
the 2nd company got nearly wiped to a man
and Calgar got his ass beat by Abbadon
the UM do lose
they've kind of been taking a lot of L's
lol
I just remember their wins
has khorne use the infinite amount of power he's getting from the wars here to actually do something instead of sticking his ******* mobility scooter
They do so much impossible shit
yeah factions breaks established lore all the time
you'd know how to break a void shield?
Also since someone mentioned abandon didn’t he at one point get his ass kicked by an eldar?
Just give drugs to an ork and tell them to crash his bike face first into the Titan
abbadon?
Ye
Some farseer kicked in his shit in hand to hand combat
Oh that was Eldrad in old 13th black crusade lor
*lore
I'd like to mention Eldrad also fucking died
in that lol
GW retconned the whole thing
Lol sounds about right
Well
that lore fucking sucked
so who cares?
eldrad dying was fucking lame
especially since he accomplished nothing
and died
Original 13th black crusade getting retconned was better for the lore
just like the Eldar book series
I think you do not comprehend how shit it was
very accurate
Path of the eldar isn't real except for the world building
you cannot convince me otherwise
Let the eldar get some W’s
More W’s
Sure
Yeah they do get some but the psychosexual need of GW to dunk on them is like I said strong
More W’s for everyone
orks are just there for mostly Comic Relief so they're fine
They do get some victories and some narratives but you know it doesn't ******* matter because there are
orks
the orks are fine they just like fight
Elite
I shall curse you to be isekaied into the warhammer world
EliteWolf put the Musket/Bolter in your mouth man it's not worth it
Nah he in the warhammer universe death is never the end
Also which chaos god and why?
Personally slanesh excess pleasure without the usual restraint the human mind would place on itself wouldn’t be all that bad especially since it just has to be a specific kind of excess to make slanesh happy
Drink as much alcohol as you want
Take drugs
So on and so forth
The current world is going slaanesh and khorne route
