theres getting involved and shooting the shit with your fanbase, and theres being an ass, depending on the flow of the community
Oh yes her
I just recall the person that saw the whole thing then made a video about it, labelling it as Darktide drama
i wasnt there for any of it, didnt even hear
Forge worlds…seriously
Basically in general chat, Dilara makes a joke about forgeworld prices and two guys get uppity. It gets to a point where they get kicked/banned/whatever. Someone (not gonna give the name) saw that all go down, and accuses Dilara that shes being awful to people who want to enjoy the hobby in their own way, and makes a video showing the conversation out of context. Dilara calls out her shit as a few people here did, then tries one more thing by going "Erm if Im such a bad guy here, why dont you ban me like those other guys?" basically, and was banned on IIRC New Years eve.
The video in question has been privated so didnt really go the way she wanted lmao
somehow that does not surprise me
I did look back at that channel, and the last Darktide video she made was her playing the penance update and from the title, wasnt enjoying it
I am looking forward to the next one in June
Same!
i must be rusty to all hell at this point
Same tbh
Ulgo never enter in contact with Great Soviet Imperium match
so does power armor have a machine spirit?
Yes
why wouldnt power armor have a machine spirit?
a little gear that needs to be oiled has a machine spirit
everything has a machine spirit
praise be to the motive force!
(electro priest pictured 41965 in the defense of armegeddon against the orc menace)
time to see if Pascal can ctrl alt del Aurora's then
with toybox he can, because you dont have to wait until endgame to use maximum chadness in the last 3 engagements
Aurora? more like AAUUUGGGHHH
Hey, sidenote:
What do the call out codes work in the Militarum?
Like I always here veteran say,"Traxis-66 (flamer), Sigma-minorus-33 (hound), or traxis-1 (sniper)
The ones we use are specifically for this specific warzone
its like how in Vietnam the U.S troops refer to the viet cong as Victor-Charlie (VC) etc
🎶*Some folks are born, made to turn stuff to gold!*🎶
Mfw my magic power is money printing
Why don't we have a code for mutants yet despite fighting them for like years now?
And they're like a pretty uniform type of mutant
Im pretty sure there is, hold on
Sorry “Filthy fragging mutie”
Hmmm
they might be uniform just because of mechanical limitations
And/or are made, not natural mutants
They are just bing chilling
I quite like Necron, happy that we get to play as them in Mechanicus 2, some people have been saying that there is a un revealed faction for that, not sure if correct
I thought I liked the orcs more when I first got into 40k
But man the pure pettiness of the necrons is really fun to watch play out
immortal and powerful beings being petty as hell is honestly a fun trope
I heard one YouTuber say “if every necron woke up, they would easily win the setting”
Is this true?
if they simply woke up? prolly not
In theory
they might end up fighting each others
maybe? They'd probably be written to be petty af to each other cause dynasties are like that
Just look at the Infinite & the Divine
if they wake up and unite, pretty high chance
It's the same thing as "If the Imperium managed it's ressources it could win the galaxy"
Old married couple trying to kill each other
that would require them to be unified lmao
Yah it'd be like the imperium getting its shit together
so no
If the necrons were somehow completely unified and all woke up yeah no shit
thats their "victory condition" so to speak
It'd be incredibly out of character
g u n
If they were unified maybe
||End Time Skaven||
Have the silent king grow a pair
But that’s a big “if”
Simple as
They don't have god telling them to get their shit together smh
It’s like how the Orks would be nuts if they unified
The BEAST
Still is a major characterisation break though 💀
I mean, it's incredible nobody has killed Ghazkull for that exact reason
Most factions have some “I win” thing that could happen but never will
Whats new in End times 💀
What’s the tau’s win?
big waaaghs aint no joke
survive 40k
I said most
lol
the tau's victory condition is survival
taus are too small to actually win, survive is their best deal
Their win condition is their obscene plot armor
The tau being the last survivor of 40k would be the most devastating ending to 40k
the tau are a small fish in a big pond, best to hide in the reeds and not be noticed
They benefit from not drawing the full focus of anyone
even smaller if you're rooting for Farsight Enclaves
And bring a fairly beneficial buffer
Farsight is cool, wish other tau were a thing
they could quietly sponge off the human border worlds
I imagine if the Tau subplot progresses enough we'll see another splinter faction
and hope no one has their shit together and angry enough to bring crusade upon them
They do
Tau civil war
They'd have to be big, even Farsight aint big enough for open acknowledgement like that
So orks want the big waaagh, eldar want to bring back a god and the funniest god to commit the silliest prank, humans just want big E back, and tau want to live
That about right?
Since I'm thinking about it, what's that one Eldar faction that gets along pretty well with the Imperium, even got an enclave or abassador suite for em? They're like 90% wraithguard or something
The one that worship the death god or something yeah?
no not them, they're not Ynnead
How far do you think orks could theoretically degenerate if they kept fighting each other?
They all become Gretchen’s
Muscular shortstack orks
Leagues of votann win the setting
Their ai become super evolved singularity’s and destroy everything
A singularity of senility more like
Random thought, so sisters of battle can rarely pull off miracles in battle
Does the imperium have like actual clerics and stuff like sigmars in fantasy?
Just pysker themed I guess
Or whatever the sisters use
I'm just saying, but it's been years. You'd think they make one by now?
this is the one he wrote after falling to chaos right?
What the miracles are is probably warp fuckery, they became more commonplace after the Eye of Terror cut the galaxy in half, no I will not intentionally spell Sicatrix Maladictum correctly.
Big E is basically a Warp God tho so who knows, we'll probably get an answer to it the same time we get an answer to the Legion of the Damned.
Also whatever the hell Living Saints are
Legion of the cringe
“Erm my space marine legion uses the power of hell to be some ghosts and to fight the good fight against the heckin enemy’s of the wholesome imperium!”
Man I wish LotD was more like a renegade pirate faction of sorts
They just come in, do their thing, then leave with no specific allegiances
If they were one of the legions betrayed and executed by the emperor and went out of their way to destroy monuments and symbols of him that’d be kinda sick
But also don’t want the imperium as a whole to die

so whats with the medicae guys are they like traitors who got turned into robots as punishents?
The way the game portrays them is probably exaggerated tbh
Servitors don’t really chit chat that much or have that clear of lobotomy issues
Also they probably wouldn’t be in random segments of the hive
But they could be anyone tbh
Its not tbh.
Theres literally a servitor for almost any menial task
they have enough compliant lines to balance the "PLEASE HELP ME" ones
The short story i was reading an hour ago had a door one that is about as bad as the medicae servitor ingame lmao
Servitors are mindless drones of flesh and metal used to carry out simple, manual tasks. They are one of the few tolerated forms of robotics in the Imperium as they are simply surgically enhanced cyborgs, not true artificial intelligence.[8]
My point is they’re not spouting stuff like that often, and full lobotomies are a big deal for the ad mech
And it’s doubtful the shit holes we are going to are warranting medicae servitors
Yeah but theres enough half-lucid servitor stuff novels for it to not really matter that much.
and again ill trust things actual BL writers write more
which they did do with the medicae servitor and got approved by GW ontop of it

omg it says theres servitor ogryns... thats terrifying
There’s servitor everything
If its got a brain and is human it WILL be lobotimized
we got servitor doors
servitor drones
servitor escalators
servitor cars
servitor lifts
servitor computers
uhhh
you get the idea
lol
But what if they ran the whole fortress/ship/imperial knight, hmmm?
You could just have multiple servitors working together like that one room in Darktide with all the servoskulls
They can perform tasks but they’re not gonna be running everything
Knights it’s possible technically but they wouldn’t because it’s a huge waste. And also knights are super hard to control.
Damn
To give an example, titans machine spirits often aren’t capable of moving on their own. Sometimes but typically they require the princeps and the crew to actually move the body still.
How many people are required to move titans?
Depends
Crew for them is a bit inconsistent, for Warhounds it’s not much
For Warlords and Imperators there’s likely dozens
The bridge crew for Warhounds is 3, bigger titans increase that a good amount
I see I see
Would Elsa from frozen be a psyker?
I would say she is a Sorceress
Okay what about the Harry Potter world?
And let's be realistic:
Dr. strange is a psyker
Like HP in 40k or Elsa in HP
Like it's difficult to say cause 40k doesn't really boher to class the magic user any further than Psykers
Ship servitors do exist but exceptionally rare
the Deathwatch got automatic predator drone kill-ships they got that they use for auto-exterminatus sometimes lmao
theres even servitor-satellites
Kill-ships are guided by special machine spirits
Thats cool as hell, plus the satellite servitors
Zamn
The craziest servitors we probably see are astropath ones and navigator servitors
You can servitor astropaths and navs and they work?
deathwatch was like veteran space marines going in to highly lethal missions right?
Navigator ones I only recall one appearance
Generally
Black ops marines formed from different chapters
ohh right
Sometimes chapters send new promising marines or marines they want to set rid of
Some are also really sad, like the terminator who genuinely believes he is the last of the Lamenters
Or extremely veteran marines
Dreadnought but yeah
My homie could NOT resist posting iron hands
They’re everything from fairly new battle brothers to extremely prized veterans of a chapter
📸
What’s with the giant calipers
Yeah well it’s badass art don’t @ me smh
It looks cool
reminds me of that one super early 30k art where Ferrus has a giant fucking wrench
They’re tools and also they’ll test a mfer up
You think there are tech librarians in the Blood Ravens?
It’s a servo harness which is designed to be able to lift a land raider in the middle of combat
Not that we’ve seen
Do the Iron Hands or Iron Warriors attach servitors to their armor and equipment on their person?
Damn
Sometimes
As weapons or servo skulls
where's the ogryn medicae servitor comic
Zamn
Techmarines in general do it
I like the one where the ogryn bodyguard is tasked by his inquisitor to fetch him a med kit from the crashed ship, and he brings the whole ship. I love them so much
Idk I’m not paid to do any of this
Mods, ban this user
Chinese memeophone
Reading Comprehension on Tumblr's level
imagine your doctor a giant beefy ogryn with a claw hand and optic red eyes
The main purpose of a servo harness is to perform battlefield repairs on vehicles, they’re design to be able to lift stuff like Land Raiders in the middle of a firefight to perform repairs
This happens to make them also really good at tearing mfers apart
With the existence of tech priests, does the IG still got sappers?
Also they generally have a plasma cutter and blowtorch which are basically an extra plasma weapon and flamer
Ogryn Servitors
(credit: McNostrils)
Only war has a bombadier thing can’t recall the name
LOL XD
But basically yes they got explosive dudes
And mechanics
Tech priests are just the primary dudes in charge
Same as marine chapters have Techmarines but they’re not the ones doing all the repairs or driving of vehicles
There’s other brothers who have expertise too
And they have serfs and servitors too
Field Engineer ?
Master of Ordnance ? THe one with the artilery thingy
Nah it had a lady with bombs and shit
Oh Breacher
The one with the 2 Melta Bombs
Maccabian Jannissaries
yess
they are my favorite regiment not counting brood
i love some not terrible poeple ecclesiarch
yeee
FFG?
Fantasy Flight games
OHHH
You also have the Crimson “We have standard issue powered carapace and integrated weapons which are better versions of your normal weapons and also we all get unbreakable knives and kickass archeotech plasma and mini railguns and our ducks are all a foot long” Guard

you know
whast some asthetics 40k / aos hasnt really touched on yet
god i love weird admech vibes
They’re definitely a kickass concept
Lathe Worlds are probably my favorite FFG original thing
The most surface ones has generally been explored
so its a bit hard to think admittedly
They haven’t done a my little pony faction

friendship is warp
Friendship is magic and magic is heresy
psykie pie gets a call from the inquisition
Tbf skitarii also use powered carapace armor
Seems like it’s one of those things the mechanicus doesn’t lack
But keeps for themselves
The funny weapons the crimson guard are cool tho
Urm but Elite, the Crimson Guard aren’t Skitarii

They still work for the admech smh
Aren't they skaven
From the first founding 10,000 years ago. There have always been female space marines
I’ll take unoriginal joke for 500
They call em shitposts for a reason
outsider
Kinda new to warhammer lore, why do people seem to really like Krieg a lot?
Neo nazis
Beats me, they’re a boring ass faction
I guess maybe because they’re grimdark-y? And they’re like trench warfare coded and that resonates with war buffs ig? And that’s a big percentage of 40K fans
Dont orky space ships have stuff like windows and screen doors and stuff that lead directly to space?
Don’t think so
makes sense
And maybe
if anyone could have screen door on a space ship and make it work its da orkz
I think like with Roks, they keep an atmosphere with force fields
nah, dey just have widowz everywhere, and ya keep em closed ta not let da air out
sometimez a git just needs ta open up a windoow, stick iz ead out like squig in a buggy, feel da speed, ya knowz?
specially in spess
That’s just people overestimating the psychic gestalt
It basically just stops their shit from blowing up or falling apart as much as it should
Mostly the gasmask vibe and some like them due to the memes (shovels for combat, trench warfare, will throw their lives away at a moment's notice)
I sort of like them conceptually and their backstory, but outside of that, they're not that outstanding
Even thought 80% of that is fake lol
Yeup

I do like their Slayer-esque cult of sacrifice shit though
Krieg had always been the “we will get the job done no matter what” imperial guard shtick
What people fail to realise about that is how ineffective they are because of that
When the enemy operates on the same way or has more bodies than the krieg does
The Krieg regiment will lose effectiveness
Siege of Vraks was krieg against a really entrenched Chaos Warband
Their mission was to retake the armoury world
In the end the inquisition had to step in cause the war took them 14 years
When it shouldve been less than 9 or something
Didnt they have a situation where they were fighting nids, and it got bad enough that they ran away?
80% of the munitions on the planet was used
To my knowledge there were no Tyranids on the Siege of Vraks
Damn
The imperium should have never been portrayed as sympathetic ngl
They really shouldnt have
Doesnt matter
I mean, youd probably still get those folks but itd be in lesser quantities
people would still look at it and say "this is how society should be"
I mean the entire imperium
All of it
Even the guard
I have no issue with there being small sparks of hope in the soul crushing machine, but lots of people have very black and white thinking which makes subtlety like that hard to do
cause its like a reverse rotten apple scenario, where one good apple (ogryns) makes the rest redeemable ig
Ive always looked at it like humanity has promise, but the imperium =/= humanity, in its current state at least
That's why I said the imperium rather than humanity
too bad theres no non imperium human factions that are any better
It needs it's own version of the farsight enclaves
I mean thats kinda the severan dominate but theyre just as shitty and corrupt
I love the enclaves though
The valkern protectorate or something like that
maybe thats a half decent place for humanity for the time being before they get consumed
oh wait I think the gue'vesa are chemically sterilized so theres no future there either
maybe farsight's council can put an end to that
I might sound crazy for saying this. But I don't believe the peace of the unburied dead will ever come
Blame gw not thinking about this
Considering how big it all is yet how incompetently ran, you'd expect some sectors to announce independence or something
Walst selling fashy shit to 12 year Olds and making a setting for it with an absurd amount of unrealized potential that actively frustrates me
Even I'm surprised why I'm still in the warhammer Fandom
To be fair the imperium's response to people who do that often tends to turn them into ash
Consider. It would be far more interesting narratively if we actually had independent/rebellious states that whent chaos aligned
Of course but considering how AWFUL they're doing on all fronts, you'd think they just would send a relatively small force to deal with
Of course this isnt a realistic setting but a high fantasy in space setting so c'est la vie en rose
Yeah an inquisitor that has access to exterminatus
Small
Yeah I got my hands on the eraser and Im in the writing room
All the writers and investors are watching in horror as I retcon the lore in real time
Wait I have the answer. It's because I've deliberately chosen to only engage with warhammer media on a surface level because I get a massive head ache whenever I go deeper than that
That and it's one of the only remotely popular sci-fi/fantasy universes that I have an option more positive than "it's worthless trite garbage"
Hey I still like its concept at its core
^
I love me some grimdark
Same here
but what I love about it is the universe is so vast and the record keeping is so poor in lore, that you can pretty much just ignore the parts you dont like
Dont like krieg? Cool, just do a setting focused on a different segmentum
for example
Yeah thats a great part especially if you're into the model collecting and painting
My brain never figured out you can do this
Don’t like the blueberries? (or whatever overused SM chapter) that’s fine! They’re conveniently busy doing something somewhere else right now
Blood angles fan btw
I don’t like sm, but if I had to pick one it’d probably be exorcists, or if I gotta pick a mainline I’d go space wolves or salamanders
Gue'vesa space marines
Honestly I dont know why GW havent jumped on the prospect of Gue'vesa marines, considering their love for space marines
Honestly it'd be pretty cool to see marines in radically different kind of power armor
What would you personally do if you got to make a 40k TV show/series
I really like that idea of Iron Warriors
Do something with them and idk tau or eldar/deldar
Or straight up Ogryns vs Orks
Specifically ogryns
I know for certain I'd want to do an animated series
Potentially as a collaboration with an anime studio
Studio TRIGGER
But outside of that I just have some scattered ideas for the plot
Do tell
Basically an apocalyptic telling of the final destruction of the imperium largely from the perspective of Roboute Guilliman
Oooo
Thinking back on this, maybe GSC would be a decent foil to Iron Warriors
So them
I just want an Ork based comedy that’s just absolute horror when it changes perspectives
I want whiplash
Have it where at WAAAAGH-Donald's, they're running outta meat, so they gotta go into the slave encampments to grab a couple humans, and have it start silly, go horrifying, then go back to silly at the end
Please don’t give us the old world treatment
Please do*
Pretty much
Perfect
Like. His whole character is built around him trying to repair the state of the imperium itself only to realize that it's doomed has he's forced to watch Terra be destroyed in a sedge from multiple armies
Playing out over the course of three acts which might be at most 9 seasons of television
Although 3 might work
With it ending in guillimans death, the complete destruction of Terra and the apparent slaying of the emperor by ether chaos or the tyranids
And seemingly the entire galaxy being consumed in truly apocalyptic warfare
I say apparent because the point is that this isn't the end of mankind
Just the end of the imperium
Of the primarcs
Of the space marines and everything the emperor represents
or GW could milk the IP for 40 more years
This is explicitly supposed to be Apocrypha
(Non cannon)
We I'm talking to whoever will listen to me ramble about it
What
uncultured
He's collecting toenails from his neighbors

Personally if I ever did an end times thing, I'd end it with every faction dying
based?
The Imperium is finally able to take down chaos but they murder each other due to infighting, Eldar factions take each other out, Necrons take out Tyranids but also start infighting again, Tau is swept away by the greentide and by everyone else practically
Basically it all ends with the galaxy finally becoming quiet, the warp calming down after millennia of hatred and excess, and ending with:
"In the 41st Millennium, there was only war."
wow that's almost like how my galaxy ended up in stellaris
because I LOST
TO CETANA
I'd rather leave a slate open for an "age of sigmar" type thing
Ehhh I'd rather not
I mean, I could but not in the way The End Times did it with Sigmar coming in last minute
I'd do it like millenia passes and new species develop and the whole thing starts over again
LEGIT
Hell I'd be cool with them finding old tech from the old factions and repurposing them
So you get not IoM or not Eldar
Point is that the whole thing has to end with everyone losing
Like im kinda thinking this as well but I'd doesn't end in everyone's death
Just everyone's mutual loss
I mean that's fair, a little bit more hopeful than what I had in mind
The only one who technically won was the tyranids who very quickly fucked off after terra
Because chaos and the necrons annihilated basically all of them
Oh shit actually idea: Tyranids "win" but for whatever reason the main hivemind thing dies so every bioform and fleet is out for themselves. Generations pass and now they've permanently merged into most if not all ecosystems while the giant carcasses of tyranid still coils through space.
Turnip28 but 40k
The genestealers become a mutant sub species of mankind
Yeah basically and everyone is very cannibalistic
Krieg is a product of imperium propaganda and in truth they are illness prone cowards who wear greatcoats because they think evwrything is cold
So in between Genefather and the book that comes before it (I can’t remember the name), how is “mainline” Fabius back to life? I know he still has his copies that mirror his consciousness still up and about, and he isn’t one of them
Calth was an act of self defense
The not IoM being an open theocracy devoted to a literal warp god
Is the Nox of Darktide the same as Nox in the Spinward Front from Only War?
its amazing honestly
GW has flat out said the imperium is completely evil many times and yet so many in the community ignore them
See HD, Star Ship Troopers...
People really like to think Protagonist = Good
no one sees themselves as evil so anything they support cant be evil
the only difference between a hero and a villain is perspective
Okay but I like the imperium being evil
The baby incinerator is funny as shit
And it fits the imperium so well
yeah same
40k's main draw is that everyone is evil as shit
so so sick of the "humans good" bullshit that infects scifi
The tau are the least evil and still incredibly evil
Ah yes the expansionist empire with a strict caste based society that limits upwards mobility by people not of the tau species

also ruled by a caste of mind controlling assholes who will make any tau that disrepects them kill themselves
etherials are not good people
Obviously
Craftworld Eldar seem not that evil surface level but no, they’re pretty fucking evil lol
Me when I redirect an ork waaagh so that it kills trillions of people
it says a lot when you think about the fact that the ones on the pyre got off the easiest most likely
i saw a video from a channel that literally just looks into and lists the warcrimes of various fictional factions/people/player characters and im curious what a video about the imperium would be like
Would have to do a full series
Crime against Humanity
that too
I wonder if “Imperium of Mankind” is an answer card on a Crimes against Humanity deck ever…
You could get some hilarious results.
Cursed question:
What chaos gods would the Phantom Theves of persona 5 follow
Thievery, deception, and being indirect
Khorne is an immediate no no
As is Nurgle because a phantom thief has to experience change
So none of those two
They also dont commit any forms of addiction or do anything in excess
Realistically the phantom thieves from persona dont fit into any niche for the chaos gods
Dear god what have I stumbled into
a very cursed topic
Tzeentch is the closest fit afaik
All of the characters for the persona series are very
Anomalous in their personalities
Theyre all an outcast to society to a certain degree
(Wow just like me fr fr)
which is Tzeentch, he is the god of change magic and schemes
To a degree
no thats his whole shtick
True true
so yeah they are not a perfect fit but he would be the closest
So all of them truly are tzeentch
if what Adam said is true and they are all anomalous outcasts then yes
because thats the kind of people Tzeentch attracts the most
I mean sure
But I don't imagine say... ryuji or mokoto wanting to be coked up wizards
But that might just be view of said characters being tainted by head cannon
They always gave me khornite vibes specifically
khornite=rush head long into your enemy
a good chunk of people who joined the bird god tends to seek knowledge or arcane power
no subtlety no tactics, just brute force
...that's just ryuji
yeah
Like cannon ryuji is kinda like that in terms of his battle tactics
Does he succumb to his rage to the point that his mouth begins frothing and he begins swinging everywhere with a giant weapon
Also gotta note if hes honourable or not
I think mokoto or aketchi did that
Yeah every single worshipper of khorne does not care for honor
They just want to become the greatest warrior to exist that is basically nothing more than a frenzied killing machine
Khorne and honor is weird, because like in a way he is about it but also not
Up front betrayal
yeah
Yeah his way of thinking what honor is is just duking it up with nothing but sharp weapons and strength
remember he only got mad at Skarbrand because he hit him in the back
yeah and this is one of his favorite champions which literally killed everything he came across in a span of a year and a few days and made a river of blood
And yet they have the Skull Cannon
Shut the **** ** it's a ******* long range headbutt
Idk about that
that gets a pass because it has to melee to reload
Yeah I think it's more on the term honorable combat that he really sticks with
So Khorne should accept Magister and Psyker, if they fought in melee
His way of that is quite ****** like I said
so his hated sibling Slannesh cant get to much power from it
I think maybe they abandoned their magical ways
Yeah we aren't slannesh
yeah Khorne kills quick
If FS introduce Daemons, and then cults to the other Chaos Gods, we could be seeing an unprecedented characterisation of Lesser Daemons.
Which I'm very much in favour of
same
I can see why you'd lump them all with tzeentch
btw, thanks to my unsanctioned psyker in rogue trader i now know just how big a bloodletter is next to a normal human lol
Guess I'm the werid one for watching to flesh them out as members of different chaos gods
i use one psykic scream and poof, there is a giant ass red demon right next to me
Ogryn Sized?
near 2x the size of a normal human so yeah
Yeah I got freaked out when I first saw them
I'd it edgy to say the imperium and chaos are kinda equal in terms of evil?
Nah it's more or less intended
^
The daemons are just more primordial/flat evil
It's the imperiums own evil thrown back at them
thats why chaos is literally just imperial but spikes in terms of ascetics
daemons and chaos arent really the same chaos also means the mortal followers
Well we can't be sure in that they kinda transcend time and whatnot
I mean, Bela’kor wasnt a human was he
just like the imperium chaos is filled with various sub factions
Not that we're aware of
Whether they transcend time jt doesnt mean they have never existed before humans
I like chaos
Oh yeah didn't mean that
in fantasy he was i think
Some daemons are probably fucked up Aeldar if you think about it
the first mortal to join chaos
Slannesh
idk about 40k
Even before
the war in heaven ruined everything
Also what is it with the name change
Depend on how you read Daemon Princes and Exhalted Daemons.
Plus the Great Game
What name change
Eldar > Aldari
From Eldar to Aeldari ?
Legalese
Aeldar?
speaking of, do we know which god is leading in the great game in 40k?
Aelf is tolkeinnism isnt it?
Think it's khorne rn
No it's GW names, same as Duardin
Is Eldar tolkeinnism?
Same thing with the guard and marines then
Aelf yes, Aeldari no
Yes
Change by edition, but last it was Nurgle
There we go
Both are still used also
They did shy away from the Great Game implications
honestly that whole thing sounds like a pain with the scale of 40k
so i cant blame them
Well its very much a thing that loom over the setting the same way that the Tyranid main fleet does
yeah
Not something you actively use unless you want to end the Great Game.
But I like the Implications of there having been multiple games before
GW just sitting there with 2 nukes for 40k if they need like that one meme
2? Those are rookies number they have nearly 1 per faction
i was about to ask wtf the eldar could do to nuke the setting then i remembered that whole thing fell apart kekw
honestly i dont think any of the eldar factions have any potental to end the setting
nor tau for that matter
Necron have 2, Silent King, Celestial Orrery
And some of the C'tan stuff
Eldar I don't know enough
I wish we had a sane chaos society in wh40k
There is/was
kingdom of Thul?
Multiple if you count the Interex
Which you shouldn't
Kinda oxymoron
That being said basically no society is sane in 40k lol
Like think the word berers "you cannot separate faith from man" but the people saying that had a half decent idea of what to do post imperium
Look at warhammer fantasy
Norscan societies are not "sane"
Also they are literal cavemen
they arent advanced
so they dont actively scheme as much
Well there's the chaos dwarfs but they're kinda crazy
Yeah they arent stable either
Like you
thats what happens when half your population is slaves
What with them making a deal where they need nonstop sacrifices
they turn into ROCK

Only the sorcerers!
Elden Ring reference
why the fuck are dwarves cut off from the winds of magic anyway?
They were engineered by the Old Ones to be that way
and be strong against Kayos™️ corruption
wait so, they where basically fantasy kororks?
Well no they were just dwarves
Same way Halfling are. But Halfling were made in combination with Ogre
the Old Ones just went
"hey lets make them chaos resistant"
lol
they were literally just homebrewing fantasy races
Dwarfs are pretty fun to play
It's just Gnomes who don't have am origin story afaik
so so broken in TWWH, its great
a frontline that is about as moveable as a mountain and more guns than god
Still annoyed that Grimm wasn't the LL
Grimm?
Mal was alays gona be an LL
that madcap engineer slayer is just too famous to not be in
me laughing as my frontline of iron breakers sit there and eat damage while my artillery turned the enemy into dusk
by the ancestors send in the hindenburg
literally my reply to every single problem that comes up
yeah there are few problems the thunderbarge cant solve
360 shooting bomb dropping a giant ******* spear
By few you mean none
yes
a lot of matchups it just wins
your best bet of getting rid of it is every single range weapon you have
Grimm Burloksson
Should have been a LH.
Failure of an Engineer, failure of a Slayer
he gave us the flying deathmachine god so cant be that much of a failure
as an orc player my reply is pledge your fealty to the empire of the rising sun
Yeah this is like the only way an orc army is going to reliably deal with the Thunder barge
- He didn't invent Thunder barges
- His first time making one killed many dwarves. (Same as his Nautilus)
i had a mod in 1 that made that thing have like 16 or more of those in a unit
it was just raining gobos
everything died
Yeah thank goodness he named the second one spirit of grungi
Because the first one was unsinkable and indestructible
And I'm pretty sure you know what the hell happened
Unsinkable yes for the Submarine
kek
i have only ever heard he did invent them
yeah this is how like i play grimgor
On the other hand, Hedda Bardinsdottir made her own Nautilus and Commandered it
I could replace the boar riders with trolls but I don't bother
Could replace four of the boar riders
One of the book mention a Dwarf Hold being amazed at his TB, but it's Karak Kadrin, which isn't an Engineering Hold like Zufhbar or Barak Varr.
Who do use TB and War Ballons as both freight and scouting units
so seem the indestructible was just one of the biggest
Hey I have a question please, I love 40k stuff but I haven't been in it long enough to understand everything just yet it's a lot to take in lol.
At the Hadron there is a person who's flesh been replaced with robotic parts right? doesn't that mean that they are worshippers of Mechanicus or is it the faction itself that is called Mechanicus? from what I understand Mechanicus is just another name for the God emperor of mankind
The Adeptus Mechanicus/the Martian Priesthood is an organization
The Omnissiah is how they refer to the God Emperor
Ahhh I see
So everything around Darktide you would say surrounds Mechanicus then? Because I was told first time I asked that this game had nothing to do with it at all and those characters I saw such as the Hadron or everyone else that is just a form of punishment and nothing they do willingly to themselves
I am just curious how it works
Hadron being like she is is due to choice.
Her being on the ship is because the Inquisitor has dirt on her
The player characters are all freed prisoners working for the inquisition
Game doesn't really surround the Mechanicus
The folks you see around the ship are members of Inquisitor Grendyl's Warband/retinue
Well "freed"
Till their use is finished then back to the Penal System with us
The AdMech are the main engineer caste in the imperium so their technical/crafting know-how is kinda critical
That's why Hadron's there
Wow okey I would never understand this without your help hehe thanks! I wouldn't even know where to read about stuff like this, I only played a few 40k RPG games and watched a few series. But it seems 40k has so much stuff in it would take a life time to understand it all 😄
Highly recommend the Lexicanum
Where can I find this?
its made for people like you who should not be brain-blasted by all this bible-long amounts of text

just Google
Haha alright thanks 😄

fair
Haven't listened to Miracle of Sound in like a decade
oh so, has anyone in 40k gone outside the milkyway other than the silent king?
wild that he's still at it

Powerwolf is my favourite group
how the fuck did the knife not break
Plot
because space wolf
true like most things space marine related
yeah but my fan made character beat one to death with his hands so what does that say

my rouge trader cut a chaos space marine's arm off with a chainsword
hey dilara quick question
can an ork be both a mek boy and a pain boy
because like a pig dok is a thing in savage orks
i will never not love this image
You love the image of a space marine missing his hand lying dead on the floor
I don't know man seems very fishy to me
specifically because its a word bearer
his name is Aurora
yes
Entirely possible, theres a difference between:
These Units exist because tabletop said so
New unit comes along GW pulled out of its ass
Orks are not uniform
also its the fact the break in his pauldron is exactly where my chainsword hit and im a big sucker for little details like that
And of course as usual orks are about as flexible in making goofy stuff work as Mr. fantastic
Yeah it is neat
Also the fact that one of the people you meet in the game says he wish he caught the big rat for eating
poor little bloke
Think there is even one mentioned in one of the book
Yarp
ohh neat
so it's even a thing
Who’s to say it didn’t, this is just a snapshot
Maybe they just keep throwing him new ones, so the fight isn’t boring
Tyranids
Maybe the exploratory fleet in forges of mars?
Always happy to share info here
I mean at least in some cases you get a half decent life compared to the imperium, like lowest caste member in tau society is probably leaps and bounds better than average imperial citizen
But still bad
Like I said, enclaves is the way to go
Me too, I like them just being cartoonishly evil
With little bits of goodness sprinkled in random people
For AoS I'm starting to think they should do half factions
Malerion being an alternate paint for Lumineth, who has access to certain (like 25/30% of the Lumineth miniatures), adding some new shared ones and having it's own Elites and Lords
So
Lumineth >< Malerion's Host
Daughter of Khaine >< Khornate Sister of Slaughter
Much appreciated 🙏
Daughters of Khaine are already branching out into both Shadow Aelves (Malerion) and Morai Heg, can't see them going in a Khorne direction as well.
I see it as a way to add new Miniatures-units that benefit 2 factions,
Thus freeing design space toward Faction exclusive units that wouldn't fit in the current factions
I understand but DoK are potentially on the verge of becoming 3 armies in a trenchcoat, so broadening the scope even more seems unlikely
You mean like the old orruk war clans
3 armies in one
And they weren't even hiding it
Morai Heg is more of a sub faction than a branch
Personally I think DoK might get reworked into being like the Drukhari in 40k, where they have the Wych Cults, Kabals and Haemonculi Covens.
Except it will be Morathi-Khaine, Malerion and Morai-Heg.
A Triumvir of gods that work together despite all hating and constantly plotting against each other.
Still feel like Malerion shouldn't be stuck with the DoK
Blood vs Shadows
I'd really see them as Shadow/Dark Lumineth
Malerion is kinda already invested in DoK with Shadowstalkers and Shadeborn units though and I don't see them taking those away from DoK
Because they basically only have 10 units and 2 of them are Shadow Aelves (I'm not counting the models which can be built to represent different units)
It's 20% of their range
Good
is there any lore precedence for the psyker's in-game staves?
It’s a stick that focuses psyker energy
Miniatures, arts, focuses
Force staves are also a thing but usually noted for melee combat in the same manner as Force swords and such
The techniques being tied to the staves is just a mechanical limitation
i was mostly looking for some lore explanation of or examples of, i dunno, a psyker using a staff as a "focus" to better use warp flames, if those are even a thing
Psychics focuses exist but they can vary in what they are
Yeah they're force weapons
A lot of psyker minis have them
Ahriman has a unique one that's supposed to be suuuuper powerful
Hey so, GSC question
So, if a gen 2 and a gen 2 have a kid they make a gen 3 right?
So what happens if let’s say a gen 2 and a gen 3 has a kid
Will it be a gen 4?
What are the genestealer cult breeding habits
Id assume it’s a coin toss between a gen 3, gen 4 or gen 2
Would different generation breeding be forbidden I'm guessing? Maybe not
Not unlikely to be forbidden
Unless its dealing with a certain kind of genestealers that I cant remember the name of
Doubt it
i doubt it, the later gens often live together and have families with humans. the earlier gens are seen as angelic and while not taboo it would be pretty hard to have sex with like, the physical repersentation of your god
That is a really interesting and unexpected dynamic
Moreso the earlier gens being seen as angelic
yea
the great uncles and great aunties!
and then when the star children draw near their angels are born much more often
the uh
hybrid metamorphs!
animorphs!
which are born in any generation i belive?
GSC be like
So do GSC members hide any generation past the first until they take over wherever they're at?
Or do they only start developing the morphs once they take over
I think every Generation they morph a little more than the previous
it’s hard to detect them because methods for incurring chaos are different than what you’d use against a GSC, and the Imperium mostly looks for traces of Chaos, it’s often what’s assumed when they see a bunch of mutations and stuff
and slight changes over the course of multiple average human lifetimes are harder to detect than doing it all at once in one generation
They tend to hide Purstrains and 1st and 2nd gen
3rd and 4th can go into public
I have wondered before, how many worlds out there have active GSCs on them and don’t even know it
A lot
genestealer cults are kind of fucking everywhere
though the size could just be like
30 dudes
or like 5
all it takes to start one is one dude, and within a century you’ve got a force to be reckoned with.
scary shit
I’ve also had another question, what is the general population size for each race? We know the Imperium has “over a million worlds” and that there are more humans than Tau or Eldar, but also way less humans than Orks or Tyranids, I have no idea how many Necrons there are just that there’s a lot of them.
that's basically what we know
also that there are way more Drukhari than Asuryani, Ynnari, and Exodites combined.
theres more orks than anyone else combined (not counting the nids which really dont count)
theres a whole lot of humans on both sides
theres about a third as many votann
theres substantially less eldar, most of which are dark i think?
there are fewer tau than eldar
necrons probably outnumber humans
though its debatable how many of them are "alive" in the sense that they'd ever be revived
it’s hard to say with Necrons since most of them are still lying dormant
yeah, there's at least more dormant necrons than humans iirc
the vast majority are not awake, most will never be awoken? it would cause substantial problems for the setting
the tyranids arent really... countable?
I’m not surprised Orks are the most populous race, they’re literally everywhere.
they are indeed Literally everywhere
and most Tyranids are still in transit TO OUR GALAXY
from what I know anyway so it’s impossible to really count them
we dont know how many hive fleets there are or if all of them are headed to the milky way but the real problem is defining what counts as "one tyranid"
a tyranid gets printed out to fight on a world with a gun that's a tyranid full of bullets that are also tyranids
also its blood is full of little microscopic tyranids
it’s even hard just counting the human population size since “over a million worlds” could mean anywhere from 1 million to hundreds of millions, and a populated world could be anywhere from a couple hundred people to trillions.
yeah theres no info on what proportion are hive worlds and what are feudal agri-worlds
finding figures in this universe is a pain -_-
i think the imperial population is counted in the quintillions?
yeah its not a scalers universe lol
dont look at any of the physics numbers lol
Think of a number that sounds ridiculous and add a few zeros.
There are 100 people c:
they changed the units of lasgun energy but they used to fire a laser pulse powerful enough to heat a surface hot enough for fusion
total, that’s ridiculous right?
they had to change megajoules to megathoules
a lasgun power pack had 11 times the energy of the capacitor bank at NIF
... Damn it
Lasgun power seems inconsistent between books, videogames, and TT, and in all three depending on the writer can be strong enough to blow people’s limbs off and wreck structures, or they barely can do damage to like, a regular person...
yeah lmao
even the strength of weapons is inconsistent as hell
one of the most inconsistent things in the setting, mostly because they show lasguns so often
Fair enough lol
they either are flashlights or can blow the head off a space marine in armor
or anywhere in between
yeah it’s actually kinda funny like that though
and the OG physics numbers would have the target space marine and the entire space between them turned into pure plasma
It's hard finding them because they don't exist
Wider 40k lore lives and breathes vague flavour text
I think it was a deliberate writing decision back in the old days
When 40k was just “Fanatsy but set in space!”
But then of course it got the sci fi label instead, because of the space association
And then the hard number science demands for things came along. For better or worse.
GW has given up on giving hard numbers in codexes and supplements generally
Which is prolly a good thing
Yea the Pious Vorne model is now being released as a default Priest for the Sororitas
Also wow, that is genuinly the most depressing Battleforce picture I've seen
the AOS Treatment huh
turning a character into a generic model
Well she was only a character in Blackstone Fortress
This is the first solo release for the model
So I'm just guessing here she barely had a character
Yea I only know about it because it's a cool model
Just a very dissapointing Hot Sororitas Summer
Not even a mention of when the Vahl book is coming
i'm just waiting for that free Battletome: Bonesplitterz
She's the most boring of the BSF adventurers
she pretty much just follows Taedus around
and she's a former ganger
So i was right
yeah
she's by far the most boring
of them
she does lore wise stick around until the end
unlike uh
Ohh yeah wolf they said this when dicontinuing the savage boys
a solid chunk of the party lol
not out yet but should be here https://www.warhammer-community.com/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-downloads/
when it comes out
Aight thanks
shame they got kicked but they are old
like really old
so it's understandable
They've done this with BSF once or twice I think
I know the Guard psyker is a BSF model
Yea
They don’t want you to know this, but this box comes with 10 more models of neophytes, the trucks come with 5 extra guys each one of them is missing legs and the other is missing feet
Lmfao
GW moment
Someone suggested using the old guardsmen legs to replace the messed up legs
Since they’re penny on the dollars arm
Atm
And you get More then enough arms and heads
If it’s a fucked up model you can contact support and they’ll generally send replacements
+you can use them for Broodbrother regiment
Alright I'm listening to the Rogue trader song Miracle of Sound made
I think it needs a louder guitar
I don’t think they asked your opinion cur!
Abelard, beat this man for sharing their opinion unprompted.
Abelard, smack his balls with a thunder hammer
