imperator titans are so funny
usually they get killed by like a whole legio doing a cool big battle, but i want a book where a chaos imperator gets revealed to turn the tides of battle and then gets lanced from orbit 3 seconds later
Imperator titans pretty much always die in the same book they show up lol
It’s kind of insane
That’s a warlord eating shit
Smh
Not an imperator I know but. Come on
Oh the trailer is great lol
have we ever got a description of what happens if you fire a nova cannon towards a planet
Void shield didn't do shit
Big explosion
nova cannons are devastating but you kinda need a fleet-barrage sized attack to really crack a planet
yeah the primary weakness of void shields is just blasting the shit out of them and the smallest warships have more firepower than any land based weapon (thats not an ordinatus)
Tbf they still got more then a ordinatus
Ordinati have big guns but not that many big guns
I’m speaking from a general point of view
Not entirely
But each one is purpose built
The Ordo reductor likes reusing designs
Ordinatus mars is the most often copied one
i'd like to see more funny setups described for purpose built weapons
two tanks connected by cables, one has a fusion generator and the other has a full on naval lance
Void ships are fucking huge in 40k
or taking cues from ork technology and doing more teleported ordinance
they're sizeable yeah
I partially blame GW writers for not understanding how scale works
Mfw the tau manta is a interceptor/bomber
Tbh space is huge
It’s not that weird
Most Imperial ships can’t enter planetary atmospheres generally
Space isn't the issue, it's anything involving boarding actions and fighting within ships.
the thing that pisses me off most about 40k void ships is that destroyers are smaller than frigates
who did that
Idk
Those usually don’t involve all the random ass decks tbf
Those usually are around reactors/the bridge/guns
Ect.
Important parts of the ship
Are pretty connected
all sorts of stuff we could go there for
Boarding Torpedo as start would be great
I think the concept arts have parts that aren't used
For the TB
compared to vt2's intro sequence, which is just the finale of the game but from another angle
i think this confirm that dt's finale will take place aboard the tancred bastion
Lol
darktide needs:
maps on a ship
maps on a train
maps in the wasteland
maps in the underhive
Just more content in general
train levels are a classic
map on a ship comes first
i dunno if we're gonna get a wasteland map but they could come up with something interesting
priority number 1
underhive maps might be reserved for the final story revelations?
map on a ship is straight up just the cheapest one to make in terms of opportunity cost and i think people would be excited to return
a mission where you defend / move along a moving cargo train would be a lot of fun
hard to make that into 2 or 3 missions though
Second hive when?
im in the "second hive is an alternate game mode" camp
I'm in the "Second hive is Darktide 2" camp.
Chaos Waste is such an obvious choice for a second hive
One can hope 💀
Escort a baneblade mission
Defend the top of a titan from boarders while it moves to an objective
Lol blow up the administratum while two knights are fighting in the distance of enclavum baross
Yeah 40k is an anime
No cap
Anyone got any good Speed Freeks style music?
I don't know what happened to the other 2-minute version. I know their channel hasn't been terminated though...
I gotchu
Just learned why the Tanith 1st is also known as the "1st and Only."
They must be really close to the Cadians.
Nah, Cadians are very racist
Ah yes, the proud Cadian race
Yea, to them if you're not Cadian born you're not a proper soldier
I know, I just wouldn't use the word "race" or "racist"
Isn't the Tannith 1st and Only called so because their planet was destroyed?
Xenophobic would be the more appropriately used irl term, but seems like it would be confusing for 40k since Xenos exist
A good point. They definitely tend to have a bit of an ego and look down on other units, which is shameful.
Its very much racism
almost all europeans are white but we got different cultures and all hate each other

NOOO-
Eh. Sure, I guess. English isn't my native language, so I might just be misunderstanding
Its a different cultural group so it basically applies the same here.
otherwise though yeah non-cadians are legit treated like shit
being from Cadia or Cadian parents is a big deal
half of the new cadian books explore this a lot ironically lol
steel tread does it very well
Yeah Long Shot too
you basically arent even treated like a person half the time if its the more hardcore Cadians which is hilarious
Yea 40k doesn't have the same racial connotations as IRL, but it does have divisions on cultural levels. So I just called that Racism for simplicity because the cultural groups also follow genealogical lines.
Like it doesn't look exactly like our Racism, but it's racism
Pretty much yep. These are just not brought up directly for obvious reasons but it more or less entirely applies.
Same as how the Guard are almost always shown being underdogs instead of doing war crimes on humans lol

Guard vs aliens = scrappy underdogs
Guard vs humans = war crimes

Also late but yeah both in and out of universe, they were originally only gonna be for 1 novel.
Abnett realised nobody outside of England saw Sharpe's Rifles
EZ Money
Can't wait for someone to join this conversation and go
"as a racist, I"

Sharpe is generational
To be fair to the guard here, I seriously doubt there is an in universe equivalent of the geneva convention
Great books, loved the shows as a teen
Oh no there isnt lol
Peak television
but like the massacres they do are always conveniently against Evil Aliens
you'll never see a squad of cadians tie people up to some poles and burn them because they had the audacity to rebel for being treated like slave labor
I know about Sharpe's rifles.
nobody wants to read that even if it happens all the time
because like... yeah its a bit much
lmao
I actually read a book where that happened. Well, it wasn't Cadians
But the chaos side was technically speaking the good guys in that one
No no, the innocent people getting massacred were innocent
Chaos showed up as a result of the massacre
we've got space marines doing it though
Plague wars has one of the greatest civilian extermination missions ever written
to be fair do you think anyone remembers that in Plague Wars of all things.
I should probably read Plague Wars
"the angels are here to rescue us"
Pistol whips grandpa to death
puts a bolt in a little girl and GETS HER TATTED ON HIS NECK TO REMEMBER BY AT THE END OF THE BOOK
GUY HALEY! YOU SUCK!
Ok but why?
they almost blew the space marines cover
No he was tucked into bed and eepy
okay but we know it happens because of codex excerpts
well not exaclty tie to pole and burn
Most of us don't know how
but they exterminated people who were protesting lol

glory to the imperium or something idk
That is a remarkably fair question
this is the 40k fanbase
Me when people dont realise whats the joke with Black Templars being so racist is
It was destroyed. Not in the way Cadia was absolutely turned into a debris field, but population zero'd via orbital bombardment. The
Tanith 1st is the only regiment out of the 3 formed to escape and survive. Makes em more rare than that Cadian regiments.
The Tanith started refilling with non tanith yeah
and we know some are still around by M.41
Yea they recruit from worlds they "Save"
Well they would have to
Yeah pretty much
since Trazyn has enough to refill his collection lol
its that or regimental extinction
inb4 they get given a "new tanith"
Well that's like the running promise of the series
God I was reading another story where an entire Hive City gets massacred alongside the governor by an entire Chapter of Marines after they sneak into the world.
The twist is that the governor has a relic which was apparently Horus' bolt pistol and the Marines destroy it with help from an inquisitor
Lol the Tanith ever meet the Catachans?
That if the regiment distinguishes itself well enough they'll be given a new world to settle, it's brought up a couple of times
There's such a huge rift between those that understand and seem to hate those that don't and those that don't understand and hate those that do.
they thought it was guillimans pistol lol
mfw
It wasn't even from Horus after he got corrupted 💀
Mfw I kill a trillion people for a nerf dart blaster
Any mission involving pre-heresy Night Lords counts
bruh just use some of the raven guard sucessors
"STOP FLAYING MY CHILDREN"
Death spectres out here raping mfs
"man this will be so tragic, the readers will love it"
me laughing my ass off because im a sick fuck
more like kidnapping for sexual slavery but yeah
"Breeding World"
Oof. Failed to understand the audience
Same difference 💀
"Pleasure world" has another meaning.
also Space Sharks are just
to quote they deem the girl they rescue as "prime breeding stock"
Loyalist Night Lords.
They got that RG geneseed but
pre corax RG and NL are pretty much
the same fucking thing lol
RG just less flay people alive and more slavery and brutal slaughters
Kinda funny that all the primarchs hated Konrad and seemed to like Corax
Blood Angels successors be like "and this is cannibalism pit, where we have our biannual blood frenzies. We're really lucky we're hot because that makes the natives like us more and get away with this haha. Anyway let's go hurt bad people."
tbf Konrad was a total piece of shit
me when I kidnap eternal reward

He deserves it tbh
Its so bad
Konrad was schizoposting before it became a thing
He absolutely was
Estrogen would have saved her
also the Death Specters literally raid loyal imperial worlds as well
But his main argument was that his horrific tactics ultimately saved lives and I don't think he was ever proven wrong.
They kinda just killed him and didn't self reflect at all
for "prime stock"
He was
since his visions were just him coping to why hes an evil piece of shit
He was when nostramo went back to being shitters and infiltrated his legion
like the death specters are considered just as dangerous as the Xenos

in the ghoul stars
love dark eldar, love night lords, love red corsairs, love mfs being evil just to be evil
Decepticons my beloved
I'm slowly getting over my eldar hatred
Ah, so that finally came full circle huh?
Yeah it did awhile ago
Craftworlders can still taste my bolter though
he has a whole speech with Sanguinius about it
its okay you can get blown up by an infinity-cannon too
me when I have a triangle of soul torture
Hellraiser mfer
And Sanguinius launches Konrad out of an airlock, right?
Yep
yeah
WOW wish this was still the archon model and not the shitty one they replaced it with!
The Black Guard successor chapter of RG intrigue me.
I recall that his main space marine once called him out and said everything wrong with the legion was his fault
Drukhari have a lot of art of them fighting Tau lmao
They do be rapekilling those tau
Oh god those poor Tau
A teenage true born deldar who is actually very sweet and nice and uses drugs to "ethically source" suffering, runs a youth group. Only survives commorragh because her mom protects her as a status symbol.
Theres a great art in that codex
where like
the foreground has some admech minding their own business
then a fucking dark lord portal opens above them

RUH ROH
Never forget what they took from us, never forgive.
I have a brand new dark eldar codex from their original box set (third edition?) and the artwork is phenomenal
they're my biggest army in 40k
like they're unapoloagetic about it
Steals cure that can fix any disease
Puts it on pedestal
Why does lelith have socks with a cleavage window
And where can I buy them
Run that by me again
they do that sometimes
Drukhari fashion
her old model was so much better
Where she was more naked
from the early 2000s
Oh I'm sorry, why does she have greaves with a cleavage window
also had like a tight thong
Clothes? No.
They have accessories
She's a gladiator
Gladiator
You can literally defeat lelith by walking into a patch of grass with thorns
Not really
she can just jump and kill you instead
Lelith is prob one of the deadliest characters in 40k
If I recall they are insanely fast
She has some insane excerpts
considering her reaction to getting stabbed by yvraine
Drazhar too since he do be the OG striking scorpion
All the combat stims
when fighting lol
I've been trying to find that art of a wytch in a gladiator pit who isn't dressed super gratuitously, she's in this like tasteful blue body suit and doing acrobatics with a human head
I respect it
That was the coolest deldar art I've ever seen but I can't find it again
thats fanart
also from inkary
search it up
The one where she's holding the head with her foot?
there's this dude on reddit that posts fantastic lelith art that's teetering on goon material
this "meme" is so lore-accurate that it hurts me
im so proud for making it
I couldn't type the P word so now will be using "goon material"
@storm jungle thanks I've been looking for it for a long time!!!
ironically
No one can beat me as the kinky art-master
also np

the terrifying part of the dark eldar is not fighting them, it's not being killed by them
Yeah
Fuck man I gotta get back into rogue trader
they can also empty entire worlds of billions of people in like 24 hours so like lol
I want the drukahri boy in my party
Seems unpleasant.
its like school
because you won't die
but you get your skin peeled instead
Kabal's are like
I can't believe the dark eldar got Birmingham
thats in realspace
spunker bunker material?
and talk funny
It doesn't exist anymore, they wrote it out by having drukhari take everyone
Has it?
They had it coming.
Yes
Maybe I dreamed that
No it happened
birmingham is from 5e
but something else happened after it
In 888.M41, the desolate world was again the site of conflict. This time the Daemonic horde of Skulltaker attempted to transform the planet into a Daemon world through dark rituals. Grey Knights managed to land on the planet, and Garran Crowe challenged the mighty daemon to single combat. Crowe managed to weaken the Daemon with a vial of the Emperor's tears, battling the Daemon to a standstill and buying enough time to win the day.[3]
pleasant
LMFAO
DAEMONIC INVASION
worse
Man I hate when time progresses linearly and effects have causes
I fucking love how of all people Castellan Crowe was there
like an actual big-name Grey Knight
its great
Bro went to the backwater imperial shithole of birmingham
insane sacrifice from Crowe ngl
I honestly like marazhai. He was such an unrepentant pos
Imagine you live there
I do find its funny
Blackpowder rifles against Dark eldar portable black hole generators and then a bunch of fucken daemons show up.
that the Drukhari took advantage of the Nachmund Gauntlet conflict
by just kidnapping a fuck ton of people
and not really caring what they nabbed lol
probably the worst thing that happened to that planet
Dilaraa did you see muh timelapse
Ederius you should draw a dark eldar
lemme see
bro
Clown
witch clown
huh
I sees
Oh I wasn't paid
OH
I just sketched it randomly since he hit 60k
ah fair
dilara throwing haymakers
I dont like him im sorry lmao
he was on a podcast with pancreas, it was great
I don't watch youtubers
Man, I don't know the community enough to get these jokes.
I also figured out how the timelapse feature works in Krita
that's sick
Honestly its better that way
lol
How do we feel about the Ynnari
fine
We dont
Unironically some of the best Night Lord art I've ever seen
they suck
But conceptually
uh
Conceptually they're fine
How do we feel
The visarch is one of my favourite models
Looks wise
I enjoy their exclusive minis
It’s a fine idea and the concept of merging all the different factions was cool
yeah
the problem is
Their books are straight ass
It just needed more
Soup factions?
uh
Multiple factions in 1
basically mixing sub-factions into 1 thing
^
OH
its very bad
It's a garbage sketch I did in 30 mins with wacky everything but thanks
Like soup. Clever.
Soup is generally pretty horrifying gameplay wise
I drew so much today that my head hurts
Me, min maxing my Shattered Legions army for heresy
(I will never be able to find another game in my area again)
Well. Still.
I'm just happy I figured out how to do the timelapse
me when I see someone running shattered legions with the most horrifying list known to man
With my new SSD everything will be recorded
I had a plan of making a loyalist space marine army, White scars maybe, and also using them to play as Alpha Legion.
Shattered Legions?
More like... Shattered Nuts? idk
my (((lore))) accurate list of 3 contemptors, 3 leviathans and 3 casfaratums
id comment but i forgot how that works on tabletop
I like having my dark eldar in a list with striking scorpoions
My ynnari force is 90 percent dark eldar anyways lol
I think it's technically possible
play them as AL if you want. I won't stop you
My man looks like a destiny warlock
Shattered Legions is BASED DEPARMENT
translate well for daemon engines
stuff like forgefiends or lord discordent
Ynnari also isn't a full soup faction
I know I'd have to get creative, but the meme makes me smile
since you don't get haemonculi
Sad that wracks are my favorite model
you only get Wych's, Kabalites and mercenaries
I wonder how awkward it is
when there's Ynnari incubi and striking scorps
in the same room

I got the finecast haemonculi last week very excited
another model they ruined in the refresh
Drukhari refresh wasn't great for characters
I think the most recent one is great though
with Inbcubi and Wych's
but the 7e one was kinda rough
haemonculi and archon are ehhhhhhhh
RIP court of the archon and beastmaster/beasts though
But it's not a true lore accurate AL army if I don't identify units from my opponent's army as my undercover units and if they die, I resign the match.
I think the funniest thing I've seen was someone asking if the harlequin shadowseer was a
whats the race from mass effect called
with the suits
OH
Quarian
Quar- Damn it
Have you guys seen the "woke author" list
Tali is the best character in mass effect
The what?
Garrus
Second best
Nein
Some idiot compiled some black Library authors they deem as "bad"
guh
Oh. Was it all the good ones?
Why were they clasified as woke
It includes gav so no
As long as they have Brooks they’re based
THough it is by a very slim margin.
Because women were in the guard?
Brooks doesn’t get enough hate
I imagine all the books writen by women were included on the woke list
We got our own Captain on there too
"he does not insert political opinion in his books" infinite and the divine

I don't think they read the book
chat
is this real
You think they read?
idk
I like having some level of faith in idiots
As long as he hates Brooks too. Even if it’s for the wrong reasons.
This is one giant ad hominem
Fucking can’t stand him
I'm not as familiar with the authors themselves, what are the good authors?
Bad authors?
Subjective but
Abnett, ADB, Wraight, Rath are some primary ones I’d say
And uh what’s his name
I mean I know Mike Ward and the uh... Dawn of war author
He did the Kingmaker one
quarian
ward is fine for codex
Cs goto
Rath is Kingmaker
Damn Jonathan D Beer, just gets the singular comment of "Leftist"
What’s the other one then
idk
Newer guy
Fuck me
head empty
for like actual bad author tier: CS Goto
Whatever could this mean
Nathan I think something
That’s it
You know people give cs goto shit for backflipping terminator but look at gabriel in dow3
Yeah, that guy
Gav Thrope goes in: Why is he writing books tier imo
But those are ones I’d say are just consistently good
I think a lot of authors make some good books
not great at character stufF
Mans powerflipping in terminator armor AND with a thunderhammer
yeah I agree
Kymes books are
something
I like Dan abnet and ADB in general. Graham Mcneil, sometimes
The Ultramarine Omnibus was a fun read, if a bit all over the damn place
Ben counter was good
Dilara loves dan abnett btw
Tbh the only reason I dislike the “woke” stuff in Brooks books is 1. It’s more pandering fourth wall breaking most of the time. 2. People fucking soy out like him making fun of online reactionaries makes his books somehow good.
You cant not like dan abnett
Sam Mitchel?
Basically the long version
Gav Thorpe if hes writing Eldar or Dark Angels, always the same boring plot beats, cant write to make a faction cool for the life of him.
Nick Kyme, Chief Editor at Black Library, singlehandedly has ruined the Salamanders as a faction across 8+ books in both 30k and 40k, not any fan of the Chapter likes him.
Phil Kelly, not awful but he is the MAIN Tau writer and just doesn't understand the faction either.
These are mostly fine authors (minus Kyme) but they are generally doofuses and should kinda stop what they are doing.
Matt Ward is genuinely a good writer but has suffered a lot due to his Ultramarine/GK codex from the mid 2000's and has gotten dogpiled as a "cringe author" even though the backlash has really magnified the very small wrongs in the stuff he has produced.
C.S Goto was so bad in his DoW novels that he got fired lol
And thats kind of it.
The man oozes prose
Caiphus Cain author. Love those books
BL rarely has god awful writers minus like Goto
Most of the time they’re fine at least
mostly
Except Brooks fuck him
don't forget henry zhou
He wasn’t even bad
Matt ward was in charge of necrons right?
He just plagiarized for no reason
Zhou is whatever, he plagiarised and got fired, its not that big of an event.
These are the good authors?
Mostly bad
His other books in that series were good imo
Ok cool
His plagiarizism is so fucking bizarre
he plagiarized irl vet stories 😭
That was by far the worst book of that trilogy too
It didn’t feel 40k at all
Because you know
Which trilogy?
It was a fucking Iraq war memoir or whatever
Lmao
Oh man
Bastion Wars
Basically he wrote three books which were somewhat connected
Not familiar. Worth a read?
What was it about?
One was about these soldiers in the jungle, and he ripped direct passages from a war memoir
Who did the uh... Word Bearers omnibus?
Which he eventually got canned for
Josh Reynolds
But the funny thing is the other two books were pretty good
Mixed feelings on that one. Some of it was good but other bits just confused me
And the soldier one I remember not liking
Necrons yeah
so stories are just "random bullshit go"
Ward did the 5e necron rewrite
He also wrote the plots of Vermintide 1 and 2
and most of the dialogue
which everyone liked, obviously bad writer

Hehe
He does a lot of behind the scenes stuff and is a large part of why GW doesn’t publicly credit writers anymore for stuff like codex’s
You can't point out things that go against what other people say. That's not faaaaair
I sold my word bearer's omnibus to a prison for 90 dollars in 2014
Yeah i was talking about the memes about ward the other day
Also this yeah
his harrassment was insane
and like massive
community-wide almost
I only know about it because of how massive the hate was.
I don't think I ever actually read the thing people were mad about
And people who weren’t even alive when it happened still spout shit cause 1d4chan is a cesspool which has permanently fucked the meme community of 40k
Is that sarc- ok
I did read Dawn of War and. Well.
Did you know it was a trilogy? I only got through one and a half books
And worship Slaanesh
There was a uh, like ten page long exerpt all about this one Eldar suffering
Wait what
1d4chan is the best website man

Even back then I was like: "Ok what the hell?"
Lelith lives in the Eye of Terror and worships slaanesh
yeah like
"what the fuck"
Haha
I used to read that shit in high school and college all the time lmfao
its like some genestealer cultist throwing a rock at a leman russ' tread and it exploding 💀
A bunch of kids attack an Eldar tank and destroy it with rocks. Eldar prefer to use Guard vehicles because they have better armor.
This is still cs goto right
I would go as far to say that r/grimdank has hurt warhammer more than 1d4c
I've never used 4chan, but people always assume I'm from there, so it must be awful.
yes
it's the best and worst
Holy moly
it's all bots and Israelis BBC posting these days on 4chan
Did they prefer lasguns over shurikens too
its a uh depleted plotanium rock
ah yes
obviously
Lex Luthor and his bald ass head
but yeah don't let gav thrope cook eldar or dark angel books or something
doesn't have waves like Norman Osborn
idk
CS goto got fired
Norman's hair is underrated
truly peak
Oh god, what else? It was bad. Bad, bad.
Which sucks because Dawn of war (the game) was my introduction to 40k
Yeah my condolences
Dawn of war 3 is bad bad
My one interaction with 4chan was when a friend showed me a picture of a Drow and it gave me a spark of inspiration, so I wrote a funny short story about it and then my friend uploaded both the image and the short story to 4chan and then people flamed it and said that it was clearly a fetish piece.
And it blew my mind. I loved it
regarding dawn of war
Sounds accurate
it gets the setting pretty well lol
Sindri was the coolest guy of all time
Sindri being a dick is my favorite part of the game
also dawn of war still has the uh
Most informed Grimdank commenter
I think that was the time period where everyone and their mother liked to shit out novel adaptions of everything
Movies, games
I just wanted to write a funny little story and everyone called me a pervert
Everytime he's on screen I'm like: "Yeah, he's clearly the main threat here."
Then they go on to complain about his plot armor, for something that someone made up probably from half remembering some dumb meme
I- what?
His voice acting was just umf
IM SO FUCKING TIRED OF ASTERION MOLOC
In the book all that happens is a Shield Captain is about to tangle with him and he’s not sure if he can take him
Then it gets stopped
That’s it
Power. Demands. Sssssacrifice.
I hate grimdank
no Eternal you are just stupid
Asterion Moloc is as tall as the Empire States Building
HES AS BIG AS AN IMPERATOR TITAN
HES SO COOL

oh wait whoops
Who is... this guy?
mixed up by generic terminator marines
Chapter Master of the Minotaurs
Forgeworld character whose got a neat design which has been memed to all hell
Nah the custodes just couldnt handle his sigma male masculinity
Oh. Wait. Ok I know who that is
Even though he has done like two things
He cowered in fear from his pheromones alone
like the fact
that i mixed him up with Tyberos
tells you all you need to know
lmao
Minotaurs are like the special anti-astartes chapter. THink they fought in the Badab war?
Yep them
they get their bigger official debut in the coup on Terra against Guilliman
even if its a bit brief
Tbh all i know about minotaurs is that theyre just notorious assholes
Pretty sure there's some ridiculous writing around them
Oh god, I remember
all the in game models are the pre refresh models including asdruabel vect and it's very funny
Although, most of the Dark Eldar in that game are... Well.
it's also cool seeing the dais of destruction in game
yeah
There’s a trend for better or worse of a lot of Forge World chapters being very special snowflake
Oh. So they're all dead, then? Custodes cleaned house?
no
Like somehow they all have these priceless relic dreads and terminator armor and weapons
they got called off
^
new master of the administratum iirc
It was a Cold War kind deal
they listen to her
they were also being played by Guilliman even if they sided with the High Lords
There wasn’t much violence
yeah
for a coup only like
I think its 10 minos
LOL
That's a lot though. Isn't it?
I WAS TRYING TO BE NICE
Welp. Alright then.
tbh
they did not choose a good place to fight those minotarus lol
ah yes a tight cramped space where they have numerical advantage
and I can't manuver properly

Fair but they're supposed to be damn near perfect
they uh
Mandrakes got a huge glowup
LOL

Oh shit.
Plotonium needs to be a real thing
love the japanese skin-cloaks
That's sick
honestly just the image of like
"Hold on guys these custodians will kill us."
takes out tiny raygun
takes away their plot armor
"Ok lets get em"
literally almost every minor 40k engagement
Its like the jokaero digirings
What was the horus heresy novel uhhh... A world eater without a weapon or armor kills a Custodes
I had to read that bit a few times because I was sure I missed something but no.
Outcast dead?
Yeah that one
yeah he punches through him
What happens if they have to out sneak someone from Tanith though?

Apparently this guy duelled lucius and survived
There were also some Thunder Warriors, if I recall which is confusing all on its own
His katana broke tho
yeah 30k is a bit like
Didn’t fold the steel enough
"what random bullshit can we do for the next novel"
Glorious tertium steel
Well, Lucious does tend to lose against named opponents
its his entire gimmick too
he can't die in 30k smh
His entire thing is becoming them yeah

Also tbh his “fights” are a bit exaggerated
Lucius is fucking with him the whole time
But he wants to die, right?
He’s very apathetic to winning properly or doing anything
He just wants a good perfect fight
I dunno lucius got weird ever since loken punched him in the face
his brain got rotated
Who was the raven guard guy who killed him?
he has actual plot armor
he wants to die forever lol
Do you think lucius is happy
he explictly isn't
There was Loken who broke his nose.
The raven guard who killed him
And a thousand son?
😦
I love 30k but it is all over the place
He didn’t die to a thousand son
Kharn's pretty chill though.
And he beat Loken the second time when he was trying properly
His issue is he just wants good duels and he fucks around
This becomes more extreme in 40k
If I recall, he took losing to Loken very seriously
Yes he was very butthurt
And the thousand son guy cut his face, didn't kill him
Is it wrong to relate to Pertorabo in the 30k books?
Because I do.
Man just wanted to build nice things
But i guess they needed him to live up to his namesake
Yes which is why he actually tries the next duel
All of his problems are self inflicted. He's childish and petty and lashes out at the drop of a hat. He's jealous of the accomplishments of others and very very stubborn which tends to just come back and bite him in the end. He's got almost no redeeming qualities but everytime I read a book with him in it, I feel for the guy.
Basically, Perturabo is always his own worst enemy
He had one of the best upbringings of any primarchs and his adopted family is shown to care about him but he fucks it all up with his paranoia and superiority complex
Hes basically that dude you might know IRL who you want to help but he just pushes everyone away and wants to wallow and never improve himself.
People bring up how his adopted dad used him for war but his dad was very frank and honest about it and didn’t ask anything of him he wasn’t asking his actual kids
his own sister calls him a man-child
and its not even funny, its just accurate
||he strangles her of course, sigma behavior||
His number one enemy is himself always
She was spot on, too
and he knew it, which was even worse.
The tragedy of his deal is that he squandered himself, not that he got squandered by anyone
But whenever he's presented with an opportunity to really self reflect and grow he instead chooses violence
he spent too much time on /rconspiracytheory
He wanted people to ask him to
Other primarchs had no issues making their own projects as they desired
He had the freedom to do what he wanted mostly, he just wanted to be acknowledged for it
Peter is one of the better written traitor primarchs yeah, the others are literally almost just meme-tier lore when it comes to why they went traitor.
Like, Oh I'm so burdened by the expectations of others as a direct result of my insisting that they view me as reliable even though they never actually expected all that much out of me
i just kind of accepted most "evil" motivation in 40k is saturday cartoon villain material
LOL
And the thing is when he gets to he shows how insanely gifted he is even by primarch standards
Angron is the only other one I feel bad for
I don’t personally
also yeah Angron was basically shit out of luck
Same with Curze
but also as Eternal said like
They get pity early on
i never got that far but i think angron had the chance to get rid of his pain implants
but he was like NA
It was more that he couldnt but he didnt have to drag it out
his entire excuse was "they want a monster they'll get a monster"
i stopped reading 30k books around prospero burns
he doomed his entire legion with himself
I know the Emperor said he probably could remove them but chose not to
Oh man, talk about self inflicted tragedy
And then he goes all: "They made me into a monster."
Yep
with Magnus tho it goes downhill
since like the issue with his fall is its like him constantly looking at his script
Magnus had so many chances
"Man i need a good reason to go traitor because Gamesworkshop is asking me to."
"Uhhh guess ill just let my legion die"
"No wait ill go out and save them instead"
lmao
Right? I feel like if GW wasn't restricted by all the already established lore, we could have gotten something much better
yeah but the issue is the result is determined
the Thousand Sons need to fall to chaos because lore lol
its why stuff like morty/death guard is so bad
"I hate my dad because he rescued me"
lmao
Yep.
i think thats my problem with legion
Oh morty
Yeah it just doesnt work. You legit need to put up with a lot of bad writing.
since you can just see the authors being all"
"shit we gotta make up excuses"
you can see them being puppeteered to do dumb shit

alpha legion conceptually is cool but their entire lore is blueballs
Yeah they are an entirely chaos faction but the lore wants you to think they got loyalist elements which are almsot non-existant lol
I’m just mad we never got a primarch tag team fight with Omegon and Alpharius together
Half of the traitor primarchs are like: I know I'm supposed to be a perfect example of good things but in ten years I need to be a murderous psychopath so we're just gonna run through the next few bits ok?
The main issue was how rushed the early heresy was
Cause it was supposed to be ten books
yeah Horus' fall especially is comedic
the sweat lodges
KEK
Which primarch would bite into an omega 3 fish oil pill and suck all the fish oil out and then take the empty casing and throw it at his brothers so it gets stuck to their clothes
glad to know that it isnt just me who thinks that was a really weird plot device
It's Leman Russ
