If a noble is directly in charge of an operation, then their personal security forces are keeping order.
If it's a government official, enforcers and, if bad enough pdf.
Crime lords also fill this role as well if them being in charge keeps things stable. The nobles in charge probably don't care as long as their obligations are being met

What about external threats like the enemies of mankind or whatever hard to kill local fauna that has a taste for human flesh?
Yeah, there might even be proxy wars at play. One noble house is funding a gang to mess with another noble so that it looks like that noble is incompetent.
PDF primarily
then they call in the militarum and so on and so forth
if it gets that bad
PDF are the general military.
Big enough worlds will form regiments, sometimes those garrison the world
The guard draws from the best of the PDF
Imperial guard is for when it's time to drop the Hammer.
It varies but PDF is the standard
There are hab zones to house the PDF and militarum garrisons if they have one?
The pdf have their own garrisons
Some PDF are so good they become imperial guard, like the Valhallans.
They’re generally basically the same as their guard regiments just maybe less equip or experienced
A hive city has a space for anyone and everything
theres no use in asking about specifics
The guard regiments are typically where the best go
Basically
Yeah the problem is these are EXTREMELY wide questions
I always have specifics for certain topics..
40k is built for what you want to it be within reason, we can give general answers
But you need to be more specific
And hive cities are generally big enough to fit everything in
even your mo-
Yes, EVERYTHING
ESPECIALLY MY MOTHER
In pretty much every imperial guard novel, PDF are the guys wiped out and overwhelmed at the start of trouble so they might seem quite weak, but that's not how most things go. Generally they're more than able to keep things in check.
LAST TIME THEY PUT HER ASS IN A HIVE CADIANS CRIED
The main thing is, almost every novel is dealing with an extreme and rare occurrence
Tbh if the pdf get wiped out shit is hitting the fan
The pdf can handle most normal threats
It’s not a good novel if “and then the PDF dispatches the Orks without a huge fuss”
Ok, one last thing
Exactly.
And its not 40k novel if shit js not hitting the fan
Theyre redshirts redshirts
^
THANK YOU!
If your planet isn't being invaded by Orks and tyrannids at the same time, don't even bother.
There to die so that the other guys can come and die too
I agree, im a big sucker for competent background goons
In regards to living quarters, like a "residential" Habzone? Who runs or maintains that Habzone?
I get that mostly we want more extreme scenarios for obvious reasons but
Variety and all that
Ok so you’ll never believe this
But it
mostly the people living in it
Depends
Pisses me off to no end whenever i see the good guy mooks just being there to die so the main character can shine
Lets sat there's a "mayor" in that residential Habzone would likely exist?
you must really hate a lot of fictional settings and 40k stories then lol
It would require storytelling on a smaller scale than normally happens. Maybe an Inquisitor is rooting around and needs backup from PDF. Keep everything isolated to a single hive city, you know?
There could very well be, zone foreman and such
Yeah basically
We need more PDF wins, so how about a Chaos novel about a PDF Regiment getting corrupted and luring multiple Regiments of Guard into a trap and slaughtering them.
Oooooh
Something where the threat can be dealt with if it’s found
Ok that's all the time that I have rn.
That would be cool, but the odds are heavily stacked against the PDF. I do love an underdog tale.
I would love an inverse of that and have the normal PDF do the winning, because i do not like how people get better when theyre bad guys
And to be honest, hive cities are big enough to fit whatever you want in there and i think that was intentional
I gotta clock in for my 72hr (8 1/2 hr) shift at the consignment-yard hzd-553 (distribution warehouse)
(Meaning I gotta get to work)
Hive cities are massive
Source?
The plot would be about a Spurned PDF general angry and jealous that the other regiments get all the glory
False I just asked her
BRUH
And she said your mom is fat

augGH-
Isn't Darktide itself about a spurned PDF unit turning to chaos?
Na
No they’re an elite regiment
Nah, the bad guys were proper guardsmen regiment
The forces we fight with are more similar to PDF
And a cult
Although they’re also guard still
Moebian 6th were basically a poster boys elite regiment of the Moebian Domain
Yeah they’re compared to like, Catachan and Mordians and shit
Moebian 6th. Returned and redeemed
Sucks that they got fed feet first into a meat grinder
The cream of the crop guard
That’s why you don’t do chaos kids
You lose main character status
I do love a good redemption story
They just fell wholesale lmao, not even slaughtered just got redeemed
The Moebian 6th pretty much shattered in 2 lol
I’m redeeming them
The traitor side won
With my club
The ones slaughtered would be the Moebian 21st sent to see whats up
Oh
There’s brief mentions of them culling the loyalist elements when they started turning I believe
The new skulls tell us more about how they fell to chaos
"Hey, 6th, we've been hearing some weird vox chatter and just wanted to check in. You doing ok, buddy?"
And uh they got sent to what seems like a very chaosy world
Lol
Like super natural plagues, ghosts and all that
Lol
Bonk
Inquisition warbands getting slaughtered wholesale
And theres 4 goons killing entire sectors every damn mission
The power scaling is all over the place
I cast this roll
But yeah being serious
A regiment is not that large lol
It’s probably a lot less goofy in lore
In one mission you got four former convicts killing 2 thousand of them
It’s just science
Yeah, potential canon being that 4 yahoos are finishing suicide missions and getting out alive
Well thats the thing
people always say "oh you are just hobos" when like, no you arent
by level 30 you are proper Inquisition agents
This is my canon
Meanwhile they're wiping the floor with Inquisitors and their warbands and proper imperial guard regiments
Not even hardass ex guard veteran, but straight up comedy crew
Yeah but all of it is explained through the game
people just cant read or have ears
💀
The absurd numbers we face really isn’t
I mean it kinda is though?
I would say recruit is probably more canon levels
You are Inquisition agents + most of the enemies you kill are canon fodder
You’re killing literally thousands of elite dudes every single mission
not thousands
most missions barely reach that point
unless you are literally playing on busted difficulties

That’s my point
Yeah but there's still a few hundred proper soldiers among those few thousands
It does get pretty absurd when you have 50 people crawling out of every crevices in an engagement on diff 4 and 5
I would say the lowest difficulties are what’s “canon”
Yeah because difficulties are not suppose to be lore accurate
like
Auric high intensity shock trooper gauntlet
this game literally had 7 black library authors work on it
and EVERYTHING in this game goes through GW
That’s what we’re saying
Thats what we are saying my man
THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING
Boo!
So. Everyone is saying the same thing?
Yes
Cool
In 3 slightly different ways
No I am agreeing with you therefore you’re wrong and I’m right
Anyway basically the issue is people that dont play the game like everyone in r40klore assume you are literally just homeless people too
And this is how RELIGIOUS SCHISM happens
Grab your gun lads and lasses we are committing heresy
The zealot is literally the least competent ironically
you also got a Cadian that survived the cracking of his entire planet
Oh yeah then why do they have the hammer?
I mean, I get that the players aren't just a bunch of hobos.
Even the zealots are at least ghetto lynchers
2 of them
That’s one of the 39,999 hammers
LMFAO
Or active arsonist fanatics
Lynching ain’t easy
Based?
The judge maybe not, he seems to have a bit of experience. Fanatic and agitator however, are complete yahoos propped up by sheer faith and loko
Except the zealots. They kinda just showed up one day
isn't judge also a vigilante
yeah what elephant said
They get by on effort
like you arent playing randos, you are playing pre-set characters
This is true
Yeah the characters have preset personalities lol
yeah you very much are playing an actual cast
But Dilara they have no character!!1!!
💀
All of my characters used to be Sororitas, it's canon because I wrote it myself
NO CLOUT
The veterans are actual veterans, ogryns are ogryns and veterans
1 psyker was a cop, 1 got legit skills, and 1 got an actual ass shard of emperor helping them
Soroitas cosmetics when?
Then you get the "so fuckass mad they refuse to die" zealots
Honestly thats the thing
Same
you are a named cast
True, they refer to each others by their archtypes and personalities
like id rather take the 21 personalities being actual pre-set characters, maybe the only customisation you can do is change their appearance but the game still says this is an actual character
I agree tbh
like selecting saltzpyre and changing his skintone, hair, height whatever but hes still him
I actually like how the game does that
Theu even have lores that involve each others
I feel like they're characters in the same way the uhhh
Darkest Dungeon characters are
Like how an ogryn got sick in a drop and barfed all over the agitator (maybe, the scottish one) zealot
^
And the loose cannon vet being a god damn kleptomaniac that the savant psyker always has to hold back
You can get the storytelling of preset characters but there's enough customization and options that players feel like they're playing their character instead of a prewritten one
Tbf people get attached to the “canon” names of the darkest dungeon characters
Loose also has fought orks, tau and chaos marines lol
NO BACKSTORY THOUGH
WE PROMISE
Ironic that professional hasn’t fought csm before
I mean technically you can choose their origins to some level, but very overarching
It’s gotten better since launch but I still imo prefer how Vermintide does it
But has fought drukhari lol
Yeah same
The banter and character growth between the squad unironically makes the game for me
Its just a "why" decision but since they pretty much are pre-set characters in all but name you end up not really caring.
Beyond the gameplay being solid
Also that yeah
like i said the L4D survivors literally became a part of internet culture because of their banter
and this was in 2009
lol
same applies to Vermintide, their impact wasnt as big but everyone loves them
I mean, L4D seems to have pioneered the whole thing too
Well yeah it is the grandfather of the genre
Damn game is burnt into my memory and i will love it until the day i die
people say a "l4d clone" when like... no its a genre lol
its like calling Cod a "half life clone"
L4D was groundbreaking
Isnt it tho

Cod is a doom clone
Im gonna kill you

Doom was a pacman clone
Pac-Man was a pong clone
Pong was a tennis clone
Chess was a checkers clone
also you joke but cod players instantly go to Vet
then be like
"WHAT IS THIS POINTY STICK? I GOTTA MELEE???"
i actually cant believe people complain about a 40k game having melee combat
Hey if you stay on low enough difficulty you can do that as much as you want
Darktide is probably one of the best examples to also point at when people go "why do people in 40k use melee"
You can’t use a gun
On a horde of zombies super natural
You will literally run out of ammo
Do NOT even get me started on the console players tendency to instantly jump into hard mode on any game with crossplay then die because they had not learned the game

Also the gunners in darktide are part of some in regiment storm trooper corp lol
Which means they’d have carapace
Playing damnation.
"This game is so stupid my gun does zero damage."
Idk
no wait carapace has the armor "tink" when you shoot it my bad
I usually just saw them head first
the blue sparkles
They got all the armor in the world and our boys run around in prison shirt
Turn a corner, fifteen gunners look up at you, die.
well going by "lore-accurate" cutscenes everyone is armored to some degree.

its only like zealots who dont wear any armor
Especially ogryn whose default outfits consist of god damn tanktops and unlockable half chestplate
Yeah but zealots are lunatics.
Give my boy some proper armor
Yeah nah zealots have FAITH and CRAZY
shield vs skull
Only gunlugger
Skullbreaker slap only
Turn off brain. Bully heretics.
The pimp run
I still fondly remember clutching a fight with an ogryn and demolishing an entire horde
Ogryn is best
why have armor when can have faith?

thats basically how i see most zealot armors
they are expecting the emperor to save them
which is very fitting
To be fair, I kind of assume their armour is beneath all their robes
I mean, if Dark Angels have robes over power armour..
nah they only use a little bit of armor
its classic ecclisiarchy/cult of redemption
hell the zealot full on has house cawdor masks
next to no armor, just faith fury and fire
yeah once i looked back at house cawdor it became very clear where the zealot's look got inspired
Zealot is cawdor but not garbage collectors
yup
yeah
yes I know the catholic church also has a similiar like hood but like
this just looks like the Klan to me
oh cawdor has one too
also
is that a giant crossbow with shaped charge rocket being loaded into it?
fuck the more i look into this gang the more i like them
the dude on the right has a rip off guardian spear lmao
yeah they are a lot cooler than i first thought, originally it was Esher and Goliath for me
I've suggested so many Cawdor weapons before
Orlok just feel lambda/vanilla
Orlok are the vanilla gang like explictly lol
they're jacks of all trades
also ig decent durability
yeah versatility reliability and durability are the hallmarks of the brotherhood of iron
But st the same time it feel like they don't have a theme in themselves
Like giving them some Iron Hand like aspects with upgrades
Their theme is just industrial output and like
Would be nice enough
they are just a biker gang mixed with a mining crew afaik
which is very fitting given they run mines and the transport system to and from them
I hope they re-expand the gangs like they did in old time
Its why they got scrapped lmfao
some people were very upset by it after seeing the new redemptionist models 💀
i can see why
yeah thats badass
I do think the pointed hoods is a cool look and has actual historic ties, the issue is the klan ruined it for everyone so alternative is pretty good too

all the House books did
it was a big revamp
Delaque for example just went from being TF2 Spy the House™️ to sci-fi high-tech cthulu worshippers
its funny the klan which was made up of protestants opted to use a catholic hood, guess they got tired of the white burlap sacks lol
oh god they have Grav chutes lol
unfortunate for them
some of the new cawdor still have the pointed hoods
just not the redemptionists anymore
Fairness there had been flying units in Necromunda
oh i just mean, image being a juv and seeing that for the first time
what is actually the astronomican?
Love orlocks! First and only time I played Necromunda I played them. I lost every game lmao
Psychic Lighthouse
just saw a video where the guy said the emperor was getting power from the astronomican and it confused me heavily due to me thinking, up until now, that it is just a psychic lighthouse created by the emperor's immense psychic might
Before the release of House of Chsin ?
Other way around d
after
I even did all the meta shit
But kept getting bodied
So hard I was like, 1 k credits behind?
so it is a psychic lighthouse (an object? a dark age relic?) that Emps took energy from and is now connected to and empowering?
I was apparently really fun to fight
course you were if you were 1k points behind
One game literally half my gang died
And my gang leader literally died twice
66 and all
Nah its made out of the Emperor's Psychic power
Pharos was an ancient Relic
Necromunda has rules for both Chaos and GSC gangs
are these squats? not the xenos species, but bonafide squats?
Yea
oh yeah
Kins aren't really Xenos
not really but they ain't the imperium either
and what isn't chaos or the imperium is, by the imperium definition, xenos
"Squat" is a slur the imperials use
Abhumans/traitors are still a thing
well, mutants exist, but i don't think there are that many mutant threats out there
oh shit nevermind taking all this back
Yeah like
Abhumans and mutants in general are pretty commonplace on the galactic scale
Not stable mutation
Yes, squats, beastmen, and genestealer cults, but don’t let that pressure you from not using xenos! I see a lot of people kroot as venators
idc for xenos, honestly
Tbh Kroot with Tau work wonderfully for Vaan Sarr
not that much lore from what i know, the lore there is either doesn't interest me or is attached to factions i'm not a big fan of, and most models are old as shit
HYPE
On topic of xenos
Yea
76 mainly
But zetans have appeared in every fallout game
Very excited for next wasteland warfare wave
/ factions
damn Eisenhorn has some fancy kit
In every single mainline fallout game ever made yes
and somehow they are the one of the least weird things in that setting
Currently there’s a lot in 76 which is mostly what you’re seeing there
I think it’s implied or said that plasma tech is loosely based off alientech recovered?
are they actually aliens or just some strange vault tech thing?
Aliens from outer space
so yeah, one of the least weird things in fallout lol
given all the nukes being dropped there i say let them have it
Somehow theyre one of the least concerning things around still
Well they kinda do
Their special event is their brain stealing device
Oh
One of*
They’re just small in numbers and more about abducting and brain wave stealing
They’re pretty evil in Fallout 3
This is true
omg they are literally just green furions from destroy all humans lol
They’re just also kinda goofy and incompetent
There’s also Homer Saperstein, a very human dude whose trying to help his fellow humans beat the aliens and he only talks over the radio because he can’t make it he swears
Excited for their wasteland warfare / faction faction rules
Supposedly it has to do with teleportation
i might catch flak for this
I hope you do
but the alien DLC was not a needed experience
It wasn’t needed but it was a fun detour
felt like a south park game sidequest than anything
Well Fallout is kinda that sometimes
what do you mean
there's a thin line between ridiculous and serious in fallout
i dont want to be that guy
but fallout new vegas only had good DLC's
and old world blues was just stupid enough to be great
Old World Blues has a seeding device which tries to seduce the garden it’s in until the garden leaves and it seeds itself to death
And light switches which argue
Have sex with the light switches
Ok but my point is aliens isn’t even top ten most bizarre things in fallout
you're right
They’re just kinda a part of the aesthetic
I don’t think mothership zeta was great but was a fun little unique spinoff
but the game did not need a whole ass DLC about what was essentially just a reoccurring easter egg of the series
i do give fallout 3 many points for the pit and point lookout though
i LOVE point lookout
Eww
underrated DLC
In general I don’t think I’ve disliked male fallout dlc
Some of the 4 dlc was a bit meh
But it was just flavor mostly
Nuka world lul
I didn’t hate it
Far harbor is good though
Nuka World I loved tbh
the bot DLC was just.. why
That one was fine imo
Not worth the price though
fallout 4 had so many weird mechanics tacked onto it
Far Harbor is by far the best t
Far harbor is by far the best expansion they made
far harbor beats them all obviously
Nuka World is odd because it's a great DLC if you want to be a raider, but like if you don't then it's basically just 10 minutes of shooting everyone and then leaving
Fallout 4 dlcs are amazing
Imo it’s the best fallout dlc ever
Yeha
my personal choice is dead money
Yeah it’s def in my like top 3
They cooked
With far harbor
Far harbor iss my favorite dlc of all the fallout games
Dead money is good imo but it’s also dead money
Honest Hearts I’d put last for NV as much as I love Joshua Graham
Which makes it divisive
Dead Money has…issues
you either love dead money or you hate it
It’s great but yeah
I appreciate getting all of them to cooperate is a pain in the ass
Honest hearts feels a bit weak for it’s endings
i love its ambience
I like dead money tbh
Yeah it’s carried hard by the Burned Man
But I need to be in the mood for it
Also the ghost men are cool
I love dead money
My hottest fallout take is Ulysses is kinda a lame character who they just forest gumped in there
i like how personal he is with the courrier
It feels forced to me
it's like he sits you down as the player and talks to you
but i get why some people wouldn't enjoy it
I don’t hate it but I think he’s overrated a bit
Graham is great though and there’s no bad fallout NV dlcs
Old World Blues is probably the best I’d personally say
also his outfit is so fucking funny to me because he literally has a straight up IRL 3M half face respirator
which i own several of
yeah i agree
the mask should have been different if they wanted the cool voice effect
He just seems so pathetic if you think about his whole deal and the funniest thing is if you play your courier as not caring
but his voice is already butter smooth so it was uneeded
Especially if you just snipe him as soon as you see him
It makes the whole dlc almost comedic
Cause you’re just being badgered by this long winded dork
And then you just pop him when you finally meet him
devs did it cheeky
if you ignore him you're kind of the asshole he says you are
and it's up to you
i mostly liked that DLC for sniping deathclaws accross the map with an anti material rifle
He does have a great voice actor though
Ulysses is pretty good, he’s mainly a tool from the devs to hit everyone on the back of the head
If you are like, not insane
He’s fine
I don’t think he’s that deep though
He’s got some good dialogue but he thinks way too highly of himself
His entire dialogue is just telling you why every option is terrible
i think the writers put a lot of thought into him
When he’s just kinda a vengeful nutter
oh fuck i forgot
He has no solutions
Yeah
the best part of honest hearts is the survivor
writers went balls to the wall for a minor location
i love it
and his gun HAS FRENCH ON IT
because he was stationed where i live
and shot canadians
one of the only times canada has any relevance in fallout
Unfortunately as far as I'm aware Fallout 4 has no special dialogue options for 1 Int characters, making it and all of it's DLC's completely unplayable
fallout 4 could have been much better if they didn't do so many cinematic choices
like the character having a voice reducing the amount of dialogue by 70% because voice acting is time consuming and expensive
There’s some stuff
it was so unneeded
like imagine all the dev time that could have gone to other things if they didn't do settlements
Your poor mom trying to explain to you what she needs you to do
And then you somehow do it
frustrates me. i have low expectations for fallout 5 and that's not a pessimistic attitude
Idk, I was happy with Fallout 4, it’s got some failings but
At least I don’t hate myself during the gameplay
bethesda has been going downhill for a while and starfield isn't the lowest they'll go
The 1 Int option in New Vegas with Fantastic is always great because it convinces him that you're smarter than he is.
Holy shit is NV and F3s gunplay bad
i'm not comparing those games
they did doom super good too
it's just recently they've been doing dog shit
I heard in the latest Starfield patch they made it so you can now manually place things inside your ship instead of it being all automatic
Nah
i dont want a new vegas remake personally. they'll find a way to make it shit
There ain’t any
Isn’t any*
I think there’s a single skill check
You can pass with low int
From the uh, boat
also just to be clear i'm not a twitter weirdo. i won't shit on you for liking the game
No I get where you’re coming from
They definitely stripped down a lot of mechanics
I hope they add them back
And learn from the criticism
We’ll see
Fallout 4 is technically the best fallout game, but damn
I wish it was better lmao
They did for 76
I think people are definitely way overly harsh with it
But I get the general critiques
And don’t disagree with a lot of them
the main thing i dislike about it is that it set in stone what "modern" fallout is like
but i hope that'll change
i want the vibes of the earlier fallouts with better mechanics for sure
I think 4 had a lot of good gameplay elements
I enjoyed the whole modular gun system
Except for the consolidation of pistols and rifles
For plasma and laser weapons
The settlement system is really good imo it’s just it needed more to it for purpose
Also 4’s dialogue options are kind of ass
imma be real i really dont like plasma and laser lmao
Which ironically fallout 76 does way better
Only getting 4 is lame
fallout story does alot of things preetty good
and settlements being just a thing with no depth
I’m shooting you with the wazer wifle
in 4
Power armor in 4 is sick
fr
theres a mod that makes it pretty good
normal armour is pretty stupid looking
People saying that them running out of power ruins lore is stupid
Because gameplay isn’t really super lore complaint anyways
fallout was never about lore anyways
I don’t think some raider explodes in a burst of radiation lol and mutates
if you're a fallout fan you should not care about lore that much
yee i know
I don’t care about lore tbh
god iw anan play a wasteland warfare campaign so bad
For fallout at all
Well I care at a surface level lol
But it doesn’t go past that
but its still being ported to tabletop sim
Me when ghoul lore
here is a good question
or super mutant lore
what is everyoens thoughts on synths
i have 1 good thing to say about them
at least bethesda tried making something new
They’re cool
The institute sorta sucks balls as a faction though lol
Same with the railroad
And the minutemen
And the brotherhood
I don’t like the factions in 4
i lvoe railroad on a personal level
All the factions in 4 are pretty meh
like very day people being spies adn sneaky
Railroad would have been better if they were anti slavery in general
bethesda bringing back the children of the atom all the time is genuinely annoying
I wish 4 had more idk
to be fair they are only east cost
Diversity within the factions themselves?
they literally nuked themselves in 3
and 4
they're in 76 too right
You can nuke them in far harbor lol
no
theres one guy you can talk to who really wants to be nuked
i cant remember hs name
ehr
her
it's pretty clear why the show went for west coast. there's nothing salvageable on east coast for a script
like wtf would the show have been about? preston garvey's door dash service?
of course
fallout canada when
Todd says no
they'd lose their target demographic (americans)

OH YEAH atlantic city is relaly neat
thef allout servers im in are mostly europeans lmao
Either way I’m still not sure if they moved shady sands or not
Because the passage of time in the show seems fucked
All I know is they end up back in LA by the end of it
just be sure of this
No like I’m confused if they moved it to LA
if china gets any relevance in the show it's probably uh
ohhh
to attract foreign interest
China dropped the nukes first as far as we know
fallout has a reputation of not giving a shit about the chinese side of the story
House in that meeting looks like he wants to kill himself lol
I liked the Chinese guy in 4
fallout 76 has alot of chinese lore
And the shi are interesting
not actual china
The funny drone of doom
lmao
it's usually chinese stuff happening in the US
Yeah and I doubt Bethesda is ever gona touch on China personally
they might
Maybe
i think they'd be that desperate
not until the irl china falls /j
Lol
i buy too much warhamemr form china
do you guys know the origin story of why china is the enemy in fallout and not the soviets
yeah, the cold war didnt happen
nope
Idk
the guy who created fallout was drafting the story in his appartement and he heard a bunch of drunk russians yelling outside his window. he though "how could this country ever be a world power" and went with china
paraphrasing but that's the jist of the story
He has not heard drunk Chinese yelling outside his window smh
this was in the late 90's
Yeah I know
just for context
Soviet Union was in decline at the time
since china wasn't as big as it is now
Yep
soviets are in lore though funny enough
nobody had oil by the time of the final war
Alaska no?
That’s why China attacked
fallout is like one great warning story about relying on fossil fuels
oh out of lore
yeah that was one of the last reserves
and imperialism
shame that it never gets deep enough
muh evil vault tech is such a better story i guess
the show or the games?
the games
literally imperialism and war is bad is the entire story of the games
What about Big MT smh
the whole resource wars was never a main part of the setting
it's never the main theme though
i guess war is bad yeah
but imperialism is just like... a thing i guess?
the entire war and end of the world was because of imperialism
that's just background story
yeah but that is also the main story
in which game
the game's stories are never about the war itself
LITERALLY IS
THAT LITERALLY IS WHY EVERY GAME STARTS WITH WAR WAR NEVER CHANGES
WAR IS BAD IS THE ENTIRE POINT
not the great war though
YES
it's not a part of the story
IT IS
in what way is fallout 3 about the great war
enclave
literally one of the direct causes
of the great war
pre war america
imperialism america
does that happen in the game or in the events prior to the game taking place?
bakc to the common wealth attempting to clense the wasteland into the prewar glory
again that's background information
Literally teh great war si why encalve exists
literally with out background information tehre wouldnt be a story
is darktide about the horus heresy
it is a consequence of the horus heresy
thats the point of a hobby
Fr
I mean it’s more than that
but right before the great war the us became a dictatorship
The main crux was the US had fusion tech and no one else had it so they were energy capable but others weren’t, and it kept escalating
fr
Yeah everyone is more or less the bad guy basically
just like real life superpowers!
Basically

China is supposed to have fired first but we know everyone was willing to and kept pushing the bar
yeah like U.S/China are not exactly paragons of virtue by any means either lol
The real good guy is how awesome you look in power armor
the first game literally opens with U.S power-armored troops murdering civillians
also this
Oh yeah, how come they mostly died then?
Tunnel Snakes Rule
the eral faction debate
This entire exchange made me wheeze 💀
the responders are so based...
also its not their fault Bethesda cant write
Hey it’s not like Obsidian was coming up with only original factions too let’s be fair
“What if gang that liked Elvis”
“What if gang but find explosives”
but that is probably the most realistic faction
FR
Probably lol
like people like that exist IRL
Don't insult the Kings
I can and I will
bastard
Thank you very much
he aint got NO rhythm
You mock them now, but just you wait
The fact that you never have a dance off with the kings
Is kinda a huge plot hole tbh
The Kings and the Tunnel Snakes will one day meet and become a power to reunify East and West
join the kings in order to find the only place in the mojave wher eyou can get a haircut
Me, choosing the most irrational and bizarre faction choices just so I piss Ulysses off more when he gives me his stupid monologues
"the bear, the bull? im the kings baby"
Unironically I like the played straight house ending the most cause it’s just your courier doing the job they were paid for super super well
we should write a fallout state...
Literally just “Politics? Can I spend that?”
You just know if someone ever makes Fallout New Mexico it's going to be filled with Breaking Bad references
"Big U, i just otta say. Ulysses? more like Ulyssee these hands"
its a mod for fallout 2
it already exists
its been out for liek, i wanan say 7 years?
its really really good

i think, the english translation is still a wip
That's Mexico, not New Mexico
oh
Do mods count as DLC?
yes
Ye I meant New Mexico like the US state where Breaking Bad takes place
Too late. Now you must measure your addiction
it hink its about 2gb atm
ALL STARFIELD HAD TO DO WAS BE BETTER THEN OUTERWORLDS
THAT WAS IT
Oh. You already have. Didn't expect that.
Tod Howard doesn't do well with competition.
THE COMPETITION DIED YEARS AGOOO
i also have a fallut texas campaign going
Wait until the next update breaks those doors
It's so joever.
Can't wait for the flood of people insisting Starfield "Is good now."
3 years...
my bet
3 years
How long was it for 76?
1 year
it got good with the wastelanders update
like
really good
and they balanced the game
I'm skeptical but haven't played it so I will defer to your expertise.
okay so
they fixed
alot
alot alot
Ok. Fixing broken things is the bare minimum
I mean, I'm glad they did it
